Murder Time Trio experimenting with some gnc fuckery as a form of healing is a concept that is so incredibly dear to me.

Killer tries on some less practical stuff like skirts and dresses once he finally feels safe with Color and realizes that he's more than just a weapon for others to wield. He doesn't need to be ready for combat at all times anymore. He doesn't have to think about wearing clothes that won't show when his marrow is leaking through as not to display any weaknesses for his opponents to exploit.

He can try on dresses, skirts, corsets, heels, everything he wants and the worst that will happen is that he trips over himself and faceplants onto the ground.

Dust starts wearing different kinds of head scarves once he starts forgiving himself for what he's done in the past. He will never be able to change his past and take back his actions, but as he's still alive he needs to find a way to live with himself. And endlessly torturing himself with a version of his brother that is far more cruel than Papyrus ever was doesn't help.

He still feels naked with no scarf at all after wearing his so long, but trying new ones that are nice and colorful and clear of any dust helps. Especially if he fashions them in different ways. Plus, with all the headscarves he doesn't need to wear his hood up all the time either, and people seem to find him more approachable that way.

Horror starts wearing more revealing clothing once he finally manages to put on some weight. Crop tops, low cut skirts and pants, just anything to show off that he finally has a belly again after years of starvation in his own universe and then more years of malnutrition under Nightmare.

He's proud of how far he's gotten. And I'm sure he would have preferred to share this kind of achievement with his younger brother, but I doubt Nightmare allowed any of them to keep contact with anyone they loved. However perhaps now that things are getting better and that he's not constantly fighting for survival he can try to find him. And maybe eventually they'll get to be happy and healthy and proud together.

anyone else have multiple traumatic memories associated specifically with holidays/family vacations? because that is a topic I never see discussed in all the So You Had A Shitty Childhood, Now What? self-help books i've been reading. but for me, it was a significant thing. and the more i think about it the more it seems like this would be an (unfortunately) common experience. would be grateful to hear if this matches other peoples' experiences...

I don’t care what they say, you can’t work as often and during some pretty harsh conditions, have near death experiences, and not have some sort of strong bond with the people you work with.

They’re all family, they’re all so close with each other that when one is down the other three are there to pick up their weight and help them. You can’t tell me they don’t have moments when they’re off leave where they all meet up and act like they might be normal people, jokes and laugh, because they know each other so well.

Thoughts on Padmé x Anakin x Rex?

Padmé and Anakin are so mutually obssesed they would first have to check into that before trying to bring another person to their carefully-balanced-kind-of-damage or something it's going to explode.

Honestly it's a fun ship! But I don't have too many thoughts about them because when I consider them is usually in very low-stakes-fun-AU-scenarios.

And I'm actually a bit of a fan of Rexwalker myself! Athough I tend to like them more as very good buddies, the covering-for-you-dynamic it's so funny for them, lol It's also angsty and complicated because, y'know, the power-imbalance and unchecked trauma? Is funny that the clone that's actually a slave for the republic is the most normal if you bring him into the anidala romance circus.

Imagine your best friend turns out to be kind of very evil and it's something that's steadily becoming clearer every year as her actions go from morally grey to just unforgivable. But despite your disgust of everything evil and your talent at killing them you cannot bring yourself to do anything but forgive her even though she's not even the person you remember anymore. She looks like your old best friend and talks like her too. The girl who was your first little sister before your blood family came along, the original innocence you fought so hard to protect. (Was any of it real? Of course it was. It has to be or-) And that's why you will drag her living corpse into every escapade and force yourselves to stay a family ignoring the elephant in the room because you cannot handle even considering an alternative. Sometimes she accidentally almost drains the life out of you and it reminds you of the two times she almost killed your baby sister and that's something you would stab anyone else for. You've stabbed people for less. But not her. Never her. Even when she kills people. Even when she tries to murder everyone including you and your family. You can hate everyone else but you'll never stop brushing her crimes under the rug because you've been through too much together and you can't do this without knowing she's by your side. Not just because she's so powerful that you could only kill her if she lets you. (And she would definitely let you but you have to pretend not to notice that too. She's getting better guys it'll be OK in the end. It has to be.) Not just because she raised you from the dead twice, (You might actually hate her a little for that sometimes.) But because every single battle and trauma you've been through together has etched some sort of loyalty on your soul, an unbreakable bond, not quite romantic or familial. You don't even know if you like each other that much anymore, sometimes your conversations grow heavy or awkward with the weight of all the skeletons you're choosing to bury. And yet if the world is ending you will find yourself by her side, and the trust will be so easy and natural for those moments that you could be right back in high school braiding each other's hair and watching cheesy old movies and joking about your latest near death experience.

Ramble time about Makoto and a little mini headcanon I came up with cus why not B]

Sometimes, I like to believe that Makoto gets really deep into stuff. Basically him in his own little world, hyper-focused to the max such as him cleaning, research, planning. Stuff like that. In the peak level of him in this state, he'd go, burst into a room, rummage around for anything he might need, and leave all while anyone who was in the now ransacked room is just 100% ignored. Bursting into rooms with the determination of the Kool-Aid Man (def not the strength tho) Makoto doesn't even remember that there were people in the room either. He could have been in a room with 58 other people for instance and if you quizzed him on how many people were in that room he'd just blank out like "People? What people?" This applies to whoever he lives with as an adult as well as way back with his parent's and sister. I can see his parent's never getting why he'd zone out like this. Like, they've tried to get it cus they of course wanna understand this weird part about their oldest child. They never really succeeded with it though and just accepted it as one of his weird quirks. Meanwhile, Komaru teased the shit about it to him cus of course she would. After all, it's the little sister privilege to completely dunk on the older sibling. 'Tis the law. Plus, it's not like it's the biggest piece of ammo she has on her older brother. This is Makoto we're talking about after all. Also, cus why not, (might as well be a BIT self-serving hehehe) I'm slipping in my mini headcanon of Makoto, Kyoko, and Byakuya living together casually in the same apartment/small house. Plus, it's funny imagining these two experiencing Makoto's little moments like this. Feel Kyoko would be more used to Makoto basically forgetting her existence when he gets into these hyper-focusing grind moments. Even when she first learned about it, I doubt it'd affect her much. Like, what is she gonna do? Have a little grudge for a solid week and a half with her roommate and lowkey boyfriend? And, besides, what idiot would have a grudge going on for that lon- oh right... Byakuya exists. Yeah, unsurprisingly, the heir is the type to be petty as shit about something like this. Has 100% without fail been disappointed to some extent and bummed out whenever he gets ignored like this. Or ignored in general. At the end of the day, he's a bit of an attention whore (the bit taking it lightly) It's his tsundere way to act like a needy, bastard cat. He'd basically take it personally while Kyoko's shaking her head cus he's taking it personally and Byakuya's all like "Tch. Stop making the assumption I'm taking it personally" and they go back and forth about it during the week all while Byakuya side eyes Makoto who's very much not aware he's even done anything wrong. His little stunt only happened once that week and he doesn't even remember Byakuya being in the room with him while he was rushing about their living quarters looking for junk like some toothpaste and a hanger. And this goes on until the week ends until Byakuya's basically over it, Kyoko gives him the whole "I told you so" look which for her is just her regular expression but with one of her brows slightly raised which she may or may not be actively trying to raise it higher but can't cus that's as far as it goes. Also this is a common occurrence for them all at least once a month. Oh, and the week is the minimum amount of time for Byakuya to hold a petty grudge for and they've lasted way longer ^v^

Why do you like Gale? No hate, I’m honestly glad because I feel like we’re a minority because everyone seems to detest him. What is it specifically about his character that draws you in? For me it’s his endurance despite loss, his devotion to the cause, he’s the flawed rebel that isn’t pure because the system doesn’t allow him to be.

I like him for the reasons you just listed too. His growing hatred towards the capitol and his commitment to ending the oppressive situation is relatable and REAL. He is willing to make the hard choices that aren't always morally right but under the circumstances I can understand why he is willing to use violence, why he accepts that they aren't going to win this rebellion without a few civilian casualties. He was fully committed to the rebellion and was willing to die for Panem to be free and wasn't naive to how that was going to be achieved. I can respect that. Especially given his life circumstances and how much trauma he's been through (something that fans ignore because he wasn't in the horror that is the games, therefore, his trauma doesn't count). We get insight into his view on the people in the capital, the privileged, early on, Before the reaping he says "if they all stopped watching, there wouldn't be any games." in his eyes they are all complicit, which isn't necessarily true for every single peson but you can understand his point. The people in the capitol could at the very least all boycott the games and this would put an end to them because then no one would be profiting off them. We know this to be true as well because the games were not successful and barely anyone watched them in TBOSAS and they were likely going to stop them.

Another reason I like him is because of how loyal he is to his family, the everdeens (he would have taken care of them if Katniss had died and was taking care of them when she wasn't around) and his loyalty to his district. He saved as many people as he possibly could from 12 during the genocide and yet, he still felt guilty that he couldn't do more. It is important to note that it was AFTER witnessing the genocide that he fully became involved in the rebellion and the creation of weapons and was willing to make the tough calls that would've got people killed. He was still a rebel in the making before then but who can blame him? his father is killed in the mines and he has to take care of his mother and siblings and make sure they don't starve to death (yes people in district 12 were literally dying of starvation if anyone is forgetting that fact) and Katniss was the only person who understood this. He resents the fact that some people are living in luxury when his people are suffering so much, he hated the class system and wealth disparity which separates the districts and that is something most of us can understand in todays world. In catching fire, when more people started hating him, he's working 12 hour shifts in the mines that killed his father and yet, his family still don't have enough food to get by, he has siblings who are now getting old enough to enter the games and there's nothing he can do to help them if they get reaped because he's aged out and can't volunteer on his behalf. He acted like a dick at times but he was also suffering and lets not forget that moment when he was TORTURED by peacekeepers and could have been killed had Katniss not stepped in.

I don't agree with all of his decisions but when this war started there was no going back, they either win and create a better Panem or they die, their loved ones die or worse, they suffer fates worse than death and worse than the lives they had before. The first rebellion resulted in the games and further oppression of the districts, imagine how it would've ended if this rebellion was lost? When you're fighting a leader as brutal as Snow you have to fight dirty and be prepared to make terrible moves that Snow thinks you haven't got it in you to make.

Gale is resilient, passionate, a fighter, loyal, smart (disagree with his strategies but they were good and pragmatic war strategies) and just as flawed as any other complex character. It is a shame people hate him so much, and mainly because of a love triangle that Suzanne never intended to write in the first place.

Sidenote: the way the fandom hated on him just made me analyse his character more closely and like him MORE which is a bit of pattern with me and unfairly hated characters.

I feel that every time I'm reminded of this, I spiral with Hal always saying how he has nothing to lose when really in moments like these he loses everything, and the reaction to it is insane.

This makes me want to bring up a lot of topics about death, losing someone who is loved personally, and what grief does to someone. How it is portrayed here... How Hal handles death throughout his whole life, depending on who passes is a whole different story. And that he could be an extremely sacrificial person who would do anything for the people he loved even if it meant something he was at both his lowest points and one of the most vulnerable points of his life. (This goes for both Barry and Hal. They do anything...ANYTHING...for the people they love.) We even had the time Barry turned into Parallax partially from the parasite, and just gleaming to Hal about the biggest fear is losing someone he loves which is so backhanded to Hal...let me tell you...

kenji and brooklynn's relationship catalyst was trauma tbh like it might have been just a small affection and then the whole s3 finale happened and Kenji's fear of not being able to do something to save his loved ones from dying (sammy) tied to brooklynn being like a spark, esp after that scene...Rationalizing it bc it could've made sense to people if those copious scenes weren't there to distract. So basically more natural.
