The Winter Nightmare Pt. 1
Bucky Barnes x Fem!Reader
Your life wasn't easy.
When you were just 8, HYDRA broke into your house.
A man, who you would later identify as The Winter Soldier, killed your grandparents who you lived with, then kidnapped you.
You were experimented on.
You were tortured.
You were shocked. Kicked. Slapped. Punched. You were bit one time for christ's sake.
Now why were they doing all this?
You have powers.
Pyrokinesis to be exact.
It was easy to control, for you at least. But you still screwed up sometimes.
They would stretch you past your limits until you physically passed out or collapsed. Even then, you'd be beaten for not being strong enough. You'd wake up with new bruises.
You were taught that the heros, the Avengers, those were the bad guys. You half believed it, but also half believed that HYDRA was bad. But how would you know? You hadn't been able to look anything up or anything like that.
As you got older, your hatred for this Winter Soldier grew and grew.
Years of training and torture passed by like pages flipping in a book.

Then one day, everything changed.
The Winter Soilder had disappeared a few months ago, though that didnt mean you still weren't getting beat. If anything they upped the punishments to almost make up for him not being there.
December 4th. 5:17 a.m.
A crash.
Gunshots.
Foot steps.
"Grab the kid! We cant afford to lose 'er!" One guard shouted. Another yanked your arm.
You figured this was your chance. You burned the guard's arms and he drops you.
"SON OF A-"
You make a run for it.
You bolt out of your holding cell. You run and run until you bump into someone.
Shit.
Was your only thought.
You look up. You expect to see the face of an angry guard. What you see instead is the Black Widow.
You inch back a bit.
"Guys I found the girl." She says into an earpiece.
You continue to move back, fear in your eyes, "S-stay back-!" You manage to stutter out.
She bends down to your level on the floor, "Listen kid, we're here to help. We arent going to hurt you."
"B-but.. You.. I.." You stumble over your words.
"We're the good guys. We're gonna get you outta here. But if you dont let us help you, you'll blow up with the base, alright?"
You simply nod your head, too shaken up to talk.
You stand up and follow her as she walks off.
The two of you are about to round a corner, you pull her back.
"There are guards.. Uh.. Hiding in.. The v-vents.." You mumble, pointing to a large vent on the ceiling.
She takes out a gun and shoots through the vent a few times till a few guards drop out, dead.
"Not anymore."
She leads you out of the base and into a jet. There's a few others there too.
You quickly identify them as Captain America, Iron Man, The Scarlet Witch, Dr Strange, and Spiderman. And then obviously Black Widow.
You tuck yourself into a secluded corner.
Black Widow walks over to you and sits next to you.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Natasha, what's your name?"
"Y/n.."
"That's a lovely name. What powers do you have?"
"Pyro.. Pyrokinesis.."
"That really cool. We're going to arrive in about.. 3 and a half hours, so get some rest while you can, alright? I'll grab you a blanket."
"Wh.. Where are we... going..?" You mutter, your eyes growing heavier.
"The Avengers Tower." She says, a slight smile appearing on her face.
"M'kay.." You say as your eyes close, drifting off to sleep.
Natasha grabs a blanket and places it over you. You curl into it comfortably.
-

-
You wake up.
You groan, your neck stiff from being in a literal corner.
You're still in the jet. You hear some people talking.
"What do we do with her?"
"She could make a good avenger."
"Or we could-"
"Guys shut up she's waking up."
You curl the blanket around you and look up.
"Like the blanket?" Natasha asks, looking over at you.
"This is like.. The first blanket I've used in.. A lotta years.. So yeah.." You sigh, a slight laugh at the end.
You gain a few sympathetic looks.
"We're going to be there soon. We'll show you to your room, give you some clothes, then we'll.. Well we will discuss that after." Steve says.
You nod, then rub your eyes a bit, "That was the longest sleep I've had without being interrupted in a long time.." You say, a small smile appearing on your face.
"How long were you there?" Tony questions.
"Since I was.. Like.. 8.. So.. 12 ish years.."
You all talk for a bit, then eventually the jet lands at the tower.
"C'mon, I'll show you to your room." Natasha says, holding a hand out to help you up. You stand up and follow her into the tall building.
After going up a decent amount of floors, you step out of the elevator and are led to a room at the back of the floor.
"Here's your room. There's some clothes in there already, they might be a bit big though."
You step into the room and your jaw drops, "Woahhhh!" You say in awe, "This room is like twice the size of my cell! And there's an actual bed!" You go and jump onto the bed like a small child.
Natasha give you a sympathy filled smile, "Take a shower and get changed. We're going to have you meet someone soon."
You nod and Natasha walks out. You take a decently long shower, scrubbing every inch of your body. You wanted every dust speck from HYDRA off of you.
You step back into your room and find a pair of jeans and a baggy t-shirt.
You turn to a large mirror on the right side of the room.
You didn't recognize yourself.
The last time you had seen yourself in a mirror was when you were 8. In your house. With your grandparents. Before everything changed. Before anything happened.
You remembered it so well.
-
"C'mon Y/n!" Your grandma called out, "The party is starting soon! We're going to be late!"
"But Gramma, the party starts in like 3 hours! We still have time!" You sighed, but ran to your room to get ready.
"Little Flare, what should I wear?" Your grandpa asked. Flare was your nickname, taken from you powers.
"I'm gonna wear my favorite red dress!" You said, grabbing it out of your closet.
You walked over to your full length mirror and held it against yourself. Your face was clean, no bruises or scars at all, "Gramma, Grandpa, what jewelry should I wear?"
"Ooh, you should wear those cute diamond earrings I got you for your birthday!"
"I agree with Gramma, and your little blue necklace."
Then it happened.
The window smashed open. Your grandparents were shot right infront of you.
You were grabbed. Your adorable red dress fell to the ground and got stomped on.
-
Suddenly you were back to the present. You look closely into the full length mirror, just like the one you had in your home, staring at your unfamiliar face. You trace your scars with your fingers.
You take a step back, starring at your scar filled arms.
You take off your shirt and look at your body.
Bruises and scars.
That was all you saw.
A wave of painful despair washes over you. You begin to cry, still staring at your reflection.
Wanda walks into the room, "Hey, just seeing if you were almost ready for- Oh my stars!" She exclaims, running over to you.
You flinch as she puts a hand on your shoulder, "Darling, what's wrong?" She asks, taking on a motherly role with you.
"I just.." Your lip quivers as you hold back more tears, "look a lot different than i thought i would.." You meet her eyes in the mirror, giving her a not-so-reassuring smile as a tear falls down your cheek.
"Look at me," she says, turning her head to yours, you look at her, "you're so strong. You survived through so much. You look wonderful, kid."
You pull her into a hug, mumbling a thank you as you do. You take a deep breath and pull your shirt back over your head.
You and Wanda walk down to the common area of the tower. There's a new face, a man that hadn't been there before.
"Look who finally showed up." Steve joked, sighing as he looked up at you.
The man walks up to you, "Director Fury. Nice to meet you Ms. L/n." He holds out a hand for a hand shake.
You shake his hand. You're still very shaken up by the whole situation.
In the span of a day you had gone from being tortured to being greeted nicely.
You and Fury both take a seat, the rest of the people there watch the two of you intently.
"So, L/n," Fury starts, "You're a pyrokinetic, correct?"
You nod in response.
"On a scale of one to ten, how would You describe your control of those powers. One being no control, ten being total control."
"Uh.. Like an eight... I guess..?"
"Care to demonstrate?"
"Isn't that a bit.. Uhm.. Dangerous..?"
"You have decent control do you not?"
You simply nod, you hold your hand out and a small, flickering, shakey flame comes up.
Fury arches an eyebrow.
"She's had a long day." Steve starts, "A lot has changed over the last few hours for her. Give her some time to warm up." (Pun intended.) Steve continues, looking at Fury.
Fury nods and stands up, "I'll come back in a few days. I expect to be impressed." He says, then walks out.
You let out a breath you didn't realize you were holding.
"You alright, kid?"
You just shake your head and close your eyes. You feel weak. The adrenaline that had been flowing through you this whole time was wearing off.
"You should get some rest, it's getting late. C'mon, I'll help you back to your room." Natasha says, getting up and then helping you up.
The two of you go up the elevator to your floor and walk back to your room.
"Once you regain some strength, we'll test out your powers, alright?"
You nod, going into your room and grabbing some pyjamas, "Alright.. Talk to you tomorrow.." You yawn and give her a tired smile.
Natasha walks out and shuts the door. You quickly get changed and lay on your new bed. The bed is so goddamn comfortable, you fall asleep as soon as your head hits the pillow.
-
-
You wake up feeling more refreshed than you ever did. You check the time, 1:37 p.m.
You do a bit of quick math in your head.
God damn.
You slept for 17 straight hours.
You take a quick shower and get changed into a pair of black leggings and another baggy t-shirt.
You walk down to the common area.
"Look who finally woke up." Tony says, glancing up at you from one of his little inventions.
"That was the best sleep I've had in a LONG time." You smile, then go and sit on the couch next to Natasha.
A few other people were in the room too, Wanda, Bruce, and Steve.
"Guys, Buck is gonna be here soon." Steve says.
"Who?" You ask, it was a name you hadn't heard before.
"A friend of mine, he's also an Avenger. He's been on a mission for the past week."
"Oh, alright!" You don't know why, but the thought of this new person makes you uneasy.
After a bit you would find out why.
"Buck's here." Steve says, "He'll be up in a minute."
You stand up and walk to the kitchen to grab a glass of water. You hear Steve greet his friend and you walk back into the common area.
You see who Steve is greeting.
The man who tortured you for years.
The Winter Soilder
Your eyes meet his.
"Oh hell no." Is all you say.
Bucky's eyes go slightly wide.
"Buck? Something wrong?"
"Y/n, you alright?"
You walk up to him.
"So the Winter Soldier has a name."
The room goes quiet.
You make a flame in your hand and launch it at Bucky, he moves away just before it hits him.
"Aw how sad. I missed."
"Y/n, stop, what's going on?!" Steve shouts, stepping between you and Bucky.
"That man, no, that boy, tortured me for nearly 12 straight years. Can't I get some payback?" Your voice is unnervingly calm.
"Flare look-" Bucky starts, you cut him off.
"Don't FUCKING call me that!" You shout, tossing another handful of fire at him. This time you hit him in the chest.
Natasha grabs the top of your arms and pulls you back. It was just like the guards did.
Your mind goes back to HYDRA. You make yourself go limp. The guards didn't like struggle, going limp was always the best option.
Natasha didn't know what to do. She'd just grabbed you and you'd suddenly gone limp. She lets go of you.
You look back to Bucky.
"Go fuck yourself. And stay the hell away from me."
You storm up to your room. All eyes turn to Bucky.
"Buck, I need one hell of an explanation."

hey can y'all block @anti-anti-dennor they're literally calling me out on shit from like a year ago and trying to link it to slightly recent stuff and idk it's giving me a lil anxiety. - I do not like norice, I hate it as much as I hate dennor. however, because I have friends who use ships to cope, I try not to speak to horribly about any ships on my main. (sometimes j go on rants abt dennor but I delete them before anyone sees them) - I made a post a long time ago about not putting ship hate in the ship tags but literally who cares just block ppl it's not that hard - i do not have the url magictrio anymore, while in the process of moving it to here someone else took it. I am very ashamed that I had a norice phase, and God I wish I got out of it quicker than I did. - yes I drew that thing but that was while I was dating Mary and it was to show affection to her rather than for the sake of gross ships.
#gOD sorry j had to make this post#I used to be so problematic and I hate thinking about it#and to see someone pulling out shit from literally almost 12 months ago#nancy.txt#my post

You know how teenager rafe is gonna just be spiralling over reader going to prom with someone else? Iâm going to cry cause like heâs a baby and he doesnât know why he has these feeling for this one person that heâs always kind of orbited around?? And he knows sheâs it for him but only deep down cause heâs trying to figure so much out and how could you know who youâre going to end up with at the age of 17 let alone 10 or 12 but heâs always known and aaaaah imagine that kind of love
an angsty little pre-series prom blurb partially inspired by this ^ ask that made me spiralll. thanks anon i hope u like this!
â
new light blurb: before we knew â rafe cameron
new light series masterlist
obv takes place pre-series in high school! referenced in part 1
warnings: underage drinking
âTop, itâs not fucking funny.â
âItâs kinda fucking funny, Y/n/n. Like, way more than a little.â
Rafe had ditched the last fifteen minutes of statistics when he finished his test early today, and heâd been messing around on his phone for ten minutes waiting for the rest of you to come and get in Topperâs Jeep so you could all go to lunch off-campus today.
Rafe stands up straight from where heâd been leaning against the hood when he hears your voice approaching, his smile matching yours once you see him. âHey, Rafe. How did your stats test go?â
âGood, hey, Y/n. Whatâs not funny?â he asks, opening the passenger side door for you before sliding into the backseat behind you.
âOh, get this, Rafe,â Topper says, laughing. You just groan again, clicking your seatbelt on. âGriffin is gonna ask Y/n to prom. Tomorrow.â
Rafe blanches. âGriffin?â
He knew Griffin thought you were hot. Certainly had to hear it enough times in the pool at practice every day. Rafe always found himself biting back a remarkâwell, almost always. As captain, Rafe was able to tell everyone to run another play whenever he felt like it. The extra exertion in the pool was nothing compared to having to tread water and hear his teammate talk about you like that.
But even after all of that, he still had no idea Griffin had the balls to actually make a move on you. Because Rafe could tell youâd seriously rather die than ever give Griffin the time of day. And Griffin had been pursuing you without luck for months, even though youâd been trying to gently show you werenât interested. Half of the time, Rafe wished you'd just tell him to fuck off.
The other half of the time, Rafe was considering just doing it for you.
Rafe clears his throat after his outburst, a finger digging into a hole in his jeans. âHow do you know?â
âHe just told me in PE,â Topper says. âHe said he has this huge banner, and speakers, and heâs gonna do it at lunch right in the middle of the quadââ
âTopper.â You cut him off a bit more seriously this time; Rafe can hear the shift in your tone. You've always hated being anywhere close to the center of attention, getting embarrassed by the smallest things others wouldnât even think about. If Griffin actually knew anything about you the way Rafe does, heâd know you wouldnât like something big and flashy. âCan you stop?â
âHey, cut it out, Top,â Rafe is saying immediately. Topper just rolls his eyes, but Rafe doesnât care. âYou okay?â
âYeah, Rafe,â you say, smiling over your shoulder at him. âMâfine.â
âDo you want me to tell Griffin toââ
Topper laughs from the driverâs seat, clearing his throat to cover it up when you look over at him. You look back at Rafe, and his heart breaks at the worry in your face. âDonât, Rafe.â
âAre you gonna say yes?â
âNo,â you immediately laugh, looking at him like the idea is preposterous.
âOh câmon, Y/n/n. Canât say no to him in front of all those people,â Topper teases. âAnd where the fuck is Kelce? Iâm starving.â
âYouâre right,â you sigh. âI donât wanna embarrass him. Iâll just find him after school today and tell him Iâm going with Kelce.â
Topperâs eyes widen, Rafe catches it in the rearview mirror before he hurriedly looks away. Rafe clears his throat, settling back into his seat from where heâd been leaning into the front space to talk with you. âYouâuh, are you actually going with Kelce?â
âYeah,â you nod, distracted by your phone. âWe said weâd go together if we didnât find dates. Kelce didnât really wanna ask anyone after what happened last summer. And after nearly being set up with Top last night, Iâm about ready to throw in the towel.â
Rafe looks to his friend that sits in the driverâs seat, who's looking straight at his lap, the back of his neck bright red. âWait, you two?â
âIt was just our parents, dude. Went to dinner at the club last night and our moms brought it up,â Topper mumbles. You giggle at the idea, completely unaware of the energy in the car right now.
âYeah, sorry, Thornton. But no thanks. You and Emily should be really cute, though,â you say earnestly, patting his shoulder.
Topper just stares straight ahead. âThanks, Y/n/n.â
âAnd then this thing with GriffinâIâm just so over the idea of finding an actual date at this point,â you sigh. âPlus, I know Kelce wonât put up a fight about the color scheme. Iâm thinking like, aqua. Or maybe pink? I don't think I'd look good in gold.â
You'll look good in absolutely anything, and Rafe will just have to watch you from across the floor of the Island Club, while Kelce twirls you around the dance floor or holds you close during a slow dance.
The guy in question opens the car door and slides into the backseat next to Rafe right then, sighing as he slides his backpack off. âSorry guys, coach stopped me in the hall. Where are we eating?â
Rafe glares at him.
âI want a smoothie,â you declare from the front seat.
âFine with me,â Topper nods, pulling out of his parking spot. âGuys?â
âCan we go to that place with the deli next door? Iâm so hungry,â Kelce says.
âYeah, I like their açaĂ bowls,â you say, twisting around to look at Rafe one more time. He must not be able to hide his emotions as much as he thought, because your smile drops when you see him. âRafe? Does that sound good?â
He turns his body to look out the window, eyes flicking back to yours one last time. âNot hungry.â
â
Rafe meets Topper and Kelce at the dock later that night, the three of them intending to get drunk and maybe take Topperâs boat out if they felt like it.
Kelce is already there by the time Rafe pulls up, drinking a beer with Topper while they laugh at something on his phone.
And Rafe paces right down the dock, snatches Kelceâs phone out of his hand, and pushes him off the platform and into the water.
âRafe, dude,â Topper says, immediately pushing him back by his chest.
âWhat the fuck?â Kelce sputters, spitting out water as he surfaces and climbs the ladder back up. âWhat is your fucking problem?â
âYou couldnât ask literally fucking anyone else? It had to be Y/n?â Rafe says, laughing indignantly. He looks down at where Topper is still keeping them separated. âAnd youâwhat the fuckââ
âI told you, man. It was just our moms. We didnât even consider it,â Topper says, rolling his eyes.
âYou both lied to me,â Rafe accuses. âBecause you knew Iâd be mad.â
âAnd whyâs that, Rafe?â Kelce spits, reaching around Topper to try and push at his chest. âWhy are you mad? Not like you were gonna ask her.â
âNo,â Rafe says immediately. And he isnât even lying; itâd never crossed his mind as a possibility. Which is why he canât even begin to try and work out why heâs this upset about it. He didnât do anything to stop this, but itâs still happening, and itâs making him crazy. âYou know my dadâs making me take Reagan since weâre both on prom court.â
âThatâs what I thought,â Kelce grumbles. âI was gonna tell you.â
âWhen?â
âSoon, I justâwe made the plan so long ago, bro. Neither of us wanted to worry about dates⌠but I gave it time because I thought you mightâI dunno,â Kelce trails off, shrugging. âI dunno.â
âThought I might what?â
âFigure your shit out and ask her yourself,â Topper says, coming back from the boathouse with a towel that he passes to Kelce.
âEven if I could, Y/n/n would never say yes to me,â Rafe scoffs, shaking his head and reaching for the six-pack they were working through.
Topper scoffs back. âOh, yeah riââ
âGuess weâll never know,â Kelce says, cutting him off while he dumps the water out of his shoes. He sighs at his soaked clothes before he looks back up at Rafe. âYou know Iâm not into her right? Weâre just going as friends. Itâs senior prom.â
âWhy would I care what youâre going as?â Rafe says, shifting in discomfort, hand clutching his already-half-empty beer can a little tighter. âNone of it even matters.â
âWhatever you wanna tell yourself, bro,â Kelce sighs, grabbing his phone out of Rafeâs hand and pushing past him to go change.
â
âNice taste, Y/l/n.â
You whirl around from where youâd been adjusting Kelceâs boutonnière (youâd only pricked him twice, which was a personal record for you) at the sound of Rafeâs voice, plastering on a smile before you face him. Your eyes drop to his attire immediately. âOh shit, Rafe. We match.â
âI know,â he laughs. âMy step-mom wants a picture.â
You furrow your eyebrows, shifting in your heels, the tule of your dress suddenly itchy against your legs. âUm. Shouldnât you take one with Reagan?â
âWe already took a million. From every angle. With every possible fucking pose,â Rafe sighs. âCâmon, please? Before the limo comes.â
Rafe grabs your hand and you look back at Kelce who just nods, downing some champagne. âTake care of my date, Cameron.â
You can see Rafe just shake his head where you trail behind him, leading you back to where Rose is talking to one of the other moms. âThere you are. Your dress is beautiful! I wish we'd found one like that for Reagan. It looks great with Rafe's tuxedo.â
âUh, yeah. It's nice to see you, Mrs. Cameron,â you say politely, ignoring the last half of what she said completely. She pulls up her phone and Rafeâs bringing you into his side, his hand resting in the middle of your back.
âThis okay?â he murmurs, his breath fanning over your neck as he leans down.
âYep,â you say quickly, but you canât help but look around and catch multiple of your friends watching you, including Reagan, who promptly rolls her eyes once you make eye contact with her.
âY/n, sweetie, just a few pictures for the newsletter,â Rose says, reminding you of your purpose right now.
âRight, sorry,â you say.
âHey,â Rafe whispers. You look up at him, feeling his hand bring you closer to his body. âTake this a little more seriously, Y/l/n. Donât you know that the next issue of the Island Club newsletter will be completely ruined without this one specific photo, that will probably be squished into the corner of a terribly- edited collage?â
You laugh in surprise, hitting him on his chest for joking about his step-mom right in front of her. âRafe. Be nice.â
He just grins down at you, before straightening up and turning back to the camera. âIf Iâm nice, will you save a dance for me later tonight?â
Youâre glad heâs not looking at you anymore, because then heâd see the way your smile faltered before you turn back to the camera as well. âSure.â
â
âHow is my flask empty?â Kelce groans, tipping it over and shaking it out for emphasis.
âThatâs what happens when you drink it all, bud,â you laugh, patting his shoulder. He rolls his eyes at you, linking his arm in yours as you both pass through the crowd to find Topper and his date, Emily. You all watch Rafe up on stage, waiting to inevitably be crowned prom king.
He was a shoo-in anyway, but youâd definitely distracted your English teacher with a conversation about the 1984 essay you just turned in while Topper and Kelce stuffed the ballot box he was meant to be guarding.
Rafe seemed like he couldnât care less about stuff like prom court, just shaking his head when his name was announced over the speaker as a nominee three weeks ago at lunch.
And heâd dragged his feet through finding a date, just shrugging whenever you brought it up to him, prying partially for your own sake.
You couldnât figure out why he seemed so averse to the entire event, but you supposed that was better than having to hear him go on and on about Reagan and how he asked her and what corsage he bought for her and if he was bringing her to after-promâor anything else that wouldâve dragged up some feelings you thought youâd firmly buried at this point, telling yourself for years that you never stood a chance with Rafe.
But the closer graduation got, the more youâve been realizing that things with your friends would never be the same. Things with Rafe would never be the same.
âKildare Academy, your prom king is Rafe Cameron,â the DJ says, snapping you out of your thoughts. Kelce and Topper cheer obnoxiously while you laugh, a little grateful theyâre both drunk and distractedâso happy their plan worked (Rafe subtly flips them off behind his back as heâs crowned) that they canât notice the way your shoulders slump as Rafe leads Reagan, just crowned queen, out to the middle of the dance floor while some Ed Sheeran song starts playing through the speakers. Youâd roll your eyes at the terrible music selection if that was what you could focus on.
All you could focus on was wondering if Rafe would even remember that you promised him a dance tonight.
Kelce is dramatically bringing you into his arms as the prom court dance takes place, subtly turning you around so your back faces the stage and the court, smiling as he holds your waist. âCâmon, dance with me.â
â
Rafeâs letting go of Reagan as soon as the song ends and everybody cheers, dashing off to the DJ booth after telling her heâd be back in a bit. She merely shrugged before adjusting her crown and going off to some friends.
âHey man, can I pull some prom king privilege right now?â he says, leaning in to speak into the guysâ ear. âI have a song request.â
âPlaylist is set, approved by the school,â he says dismissively.
âThought you might say that,â Rafe grumbles, reaching into his breast pocket before he can take the time to wonder if heâs really going to do thisâif heâs really going to bribe the DJ to play a song by your favorite band before he goes to cash in on that dance together that youâd promised.
He hands him a crisp hundred.
The DJ sighs, snatching it out of his hand and pocketing it while Rafe smirks in victory. âAlright, what song, country club?â
And then it's practically a race to find you before the Kid Cudi remix currently playing ends. Rafe heads off in the direction where Topper and Kelce had been yelling when he was on stage, evening his pace when he spots you jumping around with Kelce, your dress fanning around you while you laugh, the string lights illuminating your face.
Youâre smiling so big that it stops Rafe in his tracks.
Guys had always shown interest in you, and you turned most of them down. Not all of them; Rafe still had to see you with guys who absolutely did not deserve you giving them the time of day, sometimes at parties or maybe at the Club. Rafe could usually lie to himself, write off these feelings as some protectiveness over you, a nice girl whoâd been a good friend to him his entire life. Rafe was protective of all the people he held close in his life, why wouldnât he look out for you, too?
But something must have changed, because nowânow Rafeâs looking at you, and he knows time is running out before you both set off on your futures. He has three weeks of school left with you, then a summer of seeing you around. And then... that's it.
And now heâs looking at you, those feelings less and less ignorable with every single second closer Rafe gets to not having you around him every day anymore.
Those feelings are crowding every corner of his mind, finally coming to the surface after all of the drama with prom dates had forced Rafe to wonder why he couldnât stand you going with Griffin or Topper or Kelce. Couldnât stand thinking about you ever being with someone that wasnât himâa reality he knows heâd have to get used to you a lot quicker than it took him to even realize heâd fallen for you.
Because the futureâs coming, and maybe in the future you actually end up with someone like Griffin, or Mateo, or that guy from the party that one time, or that touron from New England that your parents tried to set you up with, some hotshot you brought home from California after a semester, or Kelceâeven Topper. Your parents would love that one. And one day in this future, youâre running into Rafe on the soccer field; your kids play for the same team together. Rafe ended up settling for someone he could never like half as much as he loved you, and he sees you across the field with a sweater tied around your shoulders, chatting with all of the other moms. The lucky asshole you finally chose just watches you the way Rafe always had, the way he is now as you dance with his best friend, the way Rafe will probably never be able to stop himself from doing.
Or maybe there's another future without you, where you move away to somewhere that suits you; the Outer Banks had never good enough for you, in his mind. Maybe you stay in California after school. And you bring home that hotshot thatâs perfectly matched for you, who gets to hold you and kiss you and have you. Rafe only gets to see you every once in a while, when you decide to grace the Outer Banks with your presence for the holidays or for Midsummers. Maybe in this scenario, Rafe was never able to find someone else, maybe he shows up solo while you flash your engagement ring when the old crew gets together for drinksâno, you wouldnât do that. Youâd be absolutely smitten with whoever won your heart, showing the ring he got you to your girl friends with an embarrassed little smile pulling at your lips while they all gush over it. And maybe one of your friends jokes about how Rafe used to have a crush on you. You'll just laugh and shrug it off, noddingâbecause you knew all along. Of course you knew, everyone had to know at this point. And Rafe can picture you merely laughing at his feelings for you as the other guy gets to pull you closer on his lap.
The opening chords of your song snap him out of his reverie. He can see the exact moment you realize what song it is.
Rafe beelines for you, holding his hand out as soon as heâs in your vicinity, fully pretending he hadnât just realized heâs fallen for one of his closest friends in the middle of prom. Like he hadn't realized that he wasn't just into you, didn't just think you were cute or like the way you made him feel when you remembered his stats tests or wore his shirt to his water polo games. Like he hadn't just realized that no matter how many times he'd told himself it didn't bother him that much that you'd never come close to giving him the time of day, that he'd never forget what it felt like to not even be on your radar.
âYou promised me a dance, Y/n.â
You look at him and his outstretched hand and smile, then look back to Kelce, who's quickly letting you out of his arms, casting an accusatory glance at Rafe. But then he smiles a little. âI'm gonna hit the restrooms.â
âToo bad our one dance is gonna be to a song by a band you hate,â you laugh, accepting Rafe's hand. Rafeâs on autopilot, his hands resting on your lower back while yours move to his chest, swaying the two of you in little circles. The song is already through with the first verse.
âI donât hate this band,â he lies. But maybe itâs not a lieâhow could he hate anything you loved?
âOkay, prom king,â you laugh, fiddling with his pocket square a little, the one that matches your dress. âStill canât believe we ended up matching.â
âGreat minds, Y/l/n,â he shrugs, eyes trained on your face. Your hands slip up around his shoulders, and you nudge the plastic crown on his head before leaving your arms to rest there, fingers locked behind his neck. Rafe pulls you closer. The second chorus was already starting up. Time was running out.
âIâm not sure what the optics are of our matching and you leaving the prom queen to come dance with your friend,â you say, your small smile turning into a frown. âReagan already seemed pissed earlier.â
âDonât worry about her,â Rafe says. âItâs just you and me right now.â
âWhen we go off to college, I think I might just miss you, Cameron,â you say, smiling.
And Rafe might not ever get to tell you how he feels, or ever be with you the way he wants to, but at least he got to dance with you at his senior prom.
âI know I'm gonna miss you.â

ⴠmale reader [22, virgin]    ⴠall characters are depicted as [18]+
âł summary: Bakugou is a 34 year old pro-hero. He had been single since reaching his thirties until one inexperienced, young pro-hero caught his attention a few months ago â [Your.name]. For the past six months [Your.name] and Katsuki have been dating and without knowing it, both of them are struggling with their feelings and emotions, until it all explodes eventually.
⣠rating: / ⣠warnings: Age Gap (12 years), older Bakugou (34), shy virgin reader, cute, sexual tension, sexual things implied
・ââźâ
âââââââââââââ
âźâ・
Standing in the kitchen, you were setting the table while your eyes wandered to your boyfriend every now and then. Bakugou was in front of the oven, adding finishing touches to the dinner he had cooked, not really realizing you were looking at him.
With a small gulp you hastily turned your head again and stared onto one of the plates, your heart racing and blood rushing down south â just by looking. Though, who could really blame you? Katsuki was, despite your age gap, so fucking beautiful and handsome, it was hard for you to keep your cool around him. It also didnât help that you hadnât had any sexual experience yet. Thus, you were even more sensitive to⌠simply everything.
âNo! Think about something gross!â, you yelled inside your head, because one glance to your boyfriend made your stomach cramp with all the happy, fluffy feelings that were rushing through your body. (Together with the very horny, very desperate feelings that made their way down south.)
â[Your.name]?â, Bakugou suddenly called your name and touched your shoulder, hence a yelp escaped your lips. You were way too caught up in your own thoughts.
âK-Katsuki-san!â, you stammered, an instant jolt wandering down in your lower abdomen making you gulp. He was so close, smelled so nice, looked so sexy, the way his plush lips looked so soft, his muscles from all the hard work, his pecs and yet the small waist and just-
âAre you okay, [Your.name]? Youâve been silent for a whileâŚâ
âNo!â, your voice went high-pitched, âI am completely fine!â
With a raised brow, Bakugou looked at you, the pro-hero not really convinced. You didnât know, you couldnât know, but your weird behavior worried him. He didnât want to show or say it, but he was insecure.
âOkay⌠Dinnerâs ready soon.â
âOkay! Thank you, Katsuki-san!â, with that, you quickly turned around and almost fled into the bathroom.
He wondered if you felt awkward due to the age gap.
Biting his lip, he also turned back to the oven. Since he was already 34, Katsuki hadnât even wanted to date you in the beginning, despite there being obvious sparks between you. But, having a 12 year age gap was not something that could be easily overlooked â at least thatâs what he thought in the beginning. Now, he was very comfortable with you, however, some things started to feel a little⌠iffy.
You had been dating for almost half a year at that point and there had been NOTHING sexual happening between you two. By now, he was rather insecure and wondered if you just simply didnât find him attractive or too old. But then again, you were the one who was persistent until he gave in to try and date you. So why was it so different now, a few months later? Did you not like him anymore?
It wasnât like he didnât want to initiate things. Fuck, he hadnât had sex in like four years after his last relationship ended horribly and he needed time to be ready again. So to be dating and not have sex was bizarre to him, because if you would just try, he would willingly jump you any second â but seeing you so passive, he worried he would overstep a boundary if he dared to try something. You were so much younger after all.
âUgh! I fucking hate this. Relationships are way too fucking hard.â, he thought while quietly sighing.
--
It all came crashing down a few days later.
Bakugou was freshly out of the shower and still drying himself, when he heard his apartment door being opened and your voice calling for him.
âKatsuki-san? Iâm sorry for the intrusion, my friend just got me two tickets to-â, you said excitedly while walking into his home, however, stopped immediately when he came around the corner with a mere, short towel around his hips.
âTwo tickets?â, he said so casually, not realizing how hard it was for you to stay calm as all your blood was rushing south.
âNo- I- uh- uhm! I-â, you helplessly stuttered before turning around, literally about to just run away, when Bakugou, however, decided enough was enough.
And thus, he grabbed your arm, stopping you from fleeing yet again.
âWait! Whatâs the fucking problem?!â
âNo- itâs nothing, I just-â
âKiss me!â, Katsuki then suddenly demanded, catching you off-guard.
You swore you were about to explode, but in the end, you complied and nodded. You WANTED to touch and kiss him, you were just too shy to act upon your pent up horny feelings. So once you stepped closer again, you leaned down to just peck his lips.
And Bakugou seriously thought you wanted to make fun of him. Thus, he grabbed your neck and pulled you down further, this time however kissing you fully on the mouth â hot, passionate and fiery. Thankfully, you immediately kissed him back and it truly seemed like you had relaxed a bit.
âWhy donât you stay the night, [Your.name]?â, he finally asked after pulling back, panting a little. However, he did not think your reaction would be so strong when you stepped back immediately.
âNo, I canât- I, Katsuki-san- and⌠uhm-â
And thatâs when Bakugou simply snapped. Being rejected was one thing, but being rejected from the one who you were dating was definitely hurtful on another level.
âWhatâs your fucking problem, [Your.name]?! If you donât like me anymore, just say it and LEAVE. I am done putting up with your shit. I am too fucking old for that!â, he was furious and yelled, before turning around and walking into the living room.
Now youâve done it.
Your heart dropped into your stomach when you realized how stupid you had been acting the last couple of months, ever since that desperate horny feeling was taking over you.
âNo! Wait- Katsuki-san!â, you hastily ran after him, âThatâs not it at all! I really, really like you-â
âOh really?!â, Bakugou interrupted you.
âFuck, [Your.name], you wonât even fucking kiss me properly, do you REALLY think I am believing you??? Donât waste our time and just be straightforward and find someone else who suits you better, huh?â
âKatsuki-san, no! Thatâs not it! I swear itâs not you, itâs-â
âThen what the fuck is it!?!?â
âI am a virgin!â, you then suddenly blurted out, cheeks flaming hot.
âOhâŚâ
âAnd youâre so hot and amazing and I donât want to disappoint you with my non-existing skills and youâre probably weirded out because what 22 year old is a virgin nowadays, you know? Hahaha aha.. so-â, though before you could ramble on more and embarrassingly laugh at yourself, a hand on your cheek and soft lips on yours suddenly stopped you.
Once more, you melted into the kisses, your hands awkwardly placing themselves on his exposed waist. His bare skin underneath your fingertips felt absolutely amazing, you would probably short circuit if you were to touch him deeper.
âYouâre so stupid and cuteâŚâ, Katsuki then whispered, all his worries and insecurities falling off his shoulders.
âYouâre not⌠disappointed, Katsuki-san?â, you sheepishly mumbled.
âWhy would I? I donât fucking care. I was just⌠worried. Like you regretted asking me out and you werenât into this anymore.â, now he was slightly looking to the other side, a soft pinkish hue on his cheeks.
âNO! I like you so much, Katsuki-san!â
Catching him off guard you suddenly hugged him so passionately you both stumbled back a bit and Bakugouâs little towel loosened and eventually fell to the floor. Which you immediately noticed due to the fabric landing on your feet.
âOhâŚâ
Though before you could pull back in embarrassment, Bakugou had cupped your face and kissed you â quick and soft, a mere peck really. But it made you stop in your erratic movement, even if your cheeks were warm and your [eye.color] eyes shimmered with embarrassment.
âSo⌠how do you feel? Wanna stop running and finally try?â
âYES!â, the way your voice cracked and was all high-pitched was enough for Bakugou to grin widely â you were so cute.
âGood, because I was so fucking close to just jumping you in the next days.â, and with that, Katsuki pulled you down again, lips colliding and tongues meeting in a passionate embrace.
Your raging hormones were all over the place, but now that Bakugou knew, it was easier to let loose and not feel like you had to catch up to him. Because in the end, it was impossible to catch up on a 12 year old age gap, but at least today you could embark on your sexual journey filled with lots of love and lust.

My Deep Blue Love (Tom Hiddleston x Fem!Reader) -- Soulmate AU one shot
This was 100% born out of boredom and loneliness and those damn Soulmate AU POV Tiktoks that I have seen practically 24/7 for the past WEEK on my fyp
(Iâm not sure if Iâll do a part 2, rn I have no plans for it)
quick note on the technicality of this one: you lose all ability to see colors when you turn 12 and you donât regain the ability until you meet your soulmate. but! you have to meet them in person and it has to be a mutual eye contact. pictures/videos of them donât work, and if you just saw the back of their head or something in person, that doesnât work either. itâs all about the shared eye contact babeyyy
small disclaimer: Brie Larson is mentioned in here and she has a wife, but that is very much only in this fic, and as far as i know Brie doesnât have a wife irl lol (i also donât know if sheâs spoken about her sexuality at all so what iâm saying is take it with a grain of salt ok)
Summary:Â Everyone around you is meeting their soulmate, but you still see in black and white. Youâre ready to give up, and basically have, when you lock eyes with your soulmate.
Warnings: None! Just a bit of angst, lots of fluff toward the endÂ
You knock on your momâs bedroom door at 4:58am. Sheâs already awake, sitting up in bed, ushering you over.
With tears in your eyes, you crawl onto her bed, snuggling close to her chest.
âI donât want to lose my colors,â you whimper.
âI know, baby,â she whispers, kissing the top of your head. âItâs okay.â
You were born 12 years ago on this day at 5:08am, so in a few short minutes, when you officially turn 12 years old, all color will drain from your life.
Or the colors could stay, but thatâs only if youâve somehow already met your soulmate. And thatâs rare, nearly impossible.
You squeeze your eyes shut at 5:07 and you donât open them again until 5:10.
The colors are gone.
+++
twenty years later
You sigh heavily as you receive yet another wedding invite. You are invited to witness the official beginning of Olivia and Jeffreyâs lives together as husband and wife, soulmates for all of time.
The glitter sticks to your fingertips, tiny black dots against your skin. Your friend told you itâs gold. You barely remember what that looks like.
Lately it seems like everyone has been meeting their soulmate. Just yesterday, you were having coffee with a friend when she looked up at the girl sitting behind you, and boom.
âItâs like the world just exploded,â she had said. Colors were everywhere. She immediately left you to go talk to the girl.
You donât blame her for that. If you had met your soulmate, you probably wouldâve done the same thing. But you canât say for sure because you donât know.
You wouldnât be so cynical of it all if your boyfriend of five years didnât meet his soulmate while the two of you were out at dinner. You wish you could say that he was faking it. But it was clear from his face (and the girlâs) that he wasnât kidding. It was real. He had met his soulmate, and it wasnât you.
Itâs never you.
Youâve had guys cut off dates before they even start, all because they didnât see colors when they laid their eyes on you. They refuse to even be friends with you.
All anyone is doing anymore is searching for a soulmate and itâs exhausting when none of them are yours. When all of your friends see color now. When everyone assures you that itâll happen soon. What does soon even mean?
You grab your ice cream from the freezer and fall onto the couch, flicking to whatever channel has late night shows that arenât complete garbage.
As usual, you find yourself watching a talk show, and tonight Tom Hiddleston is one of the guests.
Youâre sort of familiar with him from a few movies, but other than that, you hardly know anything about him.
âSo, Tom, weâve all been wondering whatâs going on with you and Brie Larson?â
âBrie?â Tom asks, clearly shocked to hear this question. âWeâre just good friends, thatâs all.â
âOh, she doesnât make you see any colors?â
âAh, no, actually, she does not,â Tom chuckles, but doesnât sound sad at all, surprisingly. âHer wife does that for her, not me, Iâm afraid.â
âOh really?â The host brushes past the mention of Brieâs wife and keeps the focus on Tom, of course. âSo is that true, you still donât see color?â
Your ears perk up at the mention of someone else not seeing in color. Itâs rare for anyone to talk about this on television. Most celebrities donât talk about whether or not theyâve found their soulmate, but more often than not, those that have are quite loud about it.
âYes, thatâs true,â Tom answers. âI still see the world in a lovely black and white.â
You snort, harshly jabbing your spoon into your ice cream. Lovely. Yeah, right.
âDo you really think itâs nice? Do you not miss the colors?â The host asks.
âNo, no, I do. I do,â Tom admits. âBut I like to think Iâll see them when the time is right.â
You groan, going to Google to look up his age. And when you see heâs 40, you groan even louder. Heâs older than you and he still hasnât met his soulmate. Thatâs just depressing. How can he sound so optimistic?
âAlright, well, if thereâs one thing you wish you could tell your soulmate, what would it be? Maybe theyâre watching right now, you never know.â
Tom smiles wide. âMaybe, maybe, um⌠Oh, so many things,â Tom exhales deeply. âI guess I could be clichĂŠ and say I canât wait to meet them and wait for me, but I think I want to say⌠I think I want to say I understand. It is frustrating, still seeing in black and white, but our paths will cross soon, Iâm sure of it. Until then, my eyes are blue.â
Blue. Blue.
You roll your eyes. You donât even remember what the color looks like.
+++
seven months later
âI am not going to a movie premiere. Youâre insane!â
âPlease!â Your friend, Catherine, cries. âYouâll love it, I swear.â
You glare at her over your coffee. âThat just makes it sound like you have a trick up your sleeve.â
âI donât,â she says. âI just want you to take advantage of this and come with us! When will you ever have the chance to go to a movie premiere again?â
She has a point. Dammit. âTouchĂŠ. How did you get tickets, anyway? Please tell me you didnât spend thousands for this.â You wouldnât put it past her, even though you tell her not to every time before she does something like this.
âGod, no, Joe surprised me with them earlier. He said he went to school with the lead.â
âOh. Cool. Who?â
âTom Hiddleston, I think. Have you heard of him? Heâs British, but thatâs about all I know. Joe just said they ran into each other the other day and reconnected.â
You stop halfway through a sip of coffee, careful to not choke on it. Slowly, you nod. âYeah. I...Iâve seen him in a couple things.â
âApparently, he hasnât met his soulmate eitherâŚâ Catherine trails away, raising her eyebrows at you.
You roll your eyes. âI heard,â you set your cup down. âHeâs probably met them by now though since he blasted it on television like that.â
âOr heâs still searching and youâre still being too cynical.â
âYouâre probably right,â you chuckle.
âSooo, youâll come?â
You sigh heavily. âAs long as you help me pick something to wear.â
+++
âIâm regretting letting you talk me into this already,â you mutter when you nearly trip in your heels.
âOh, hush,â Catherine swats your arm. âItâs an excuse to get dressed up and look hot for no reason. Take it.â
âFine.â
Catherineâs soulmate, Joe, was whisked away almost as soon as the three of you stepped inside the venue by some director (you think), but he promised to return in a few minutes. Catherine told him not to worry. Sheâs used to him being dragged away for conversation. You can see from her face that sheâs more proud of him than anything, and not at all annoyed.
Currently, you and Catherine are standing near the small bar, waiting for them to announce that itâs time to take your seats. You desperately want a drink, but part of you knows it would be a bad idea.
One glass of wine canât hurt, though. Maybe itâll take your mind off the pain in your feet.
You peel away from Catherine when you see Joe coming back, and you flag the bartender down quickly.
After ordering a glass of white wine, you wait patiently, wishing you had chosen a dress with sleeves. Itâs fucking cold in here.
âDarling, youâre shivering, are you alright?â
Your head turns toward the smooth voice, face set and mind trying to decipher whether or not it was a sincere or creepy comment when the world quite literally explodes.
There, standing beside you, concern written all over his face, is Tom Hiddleston. Only now the concern has washed away into awe when your eyes lock with his.
âOh my god,â he whispers, stumbling even though heâs standing in place.
âBlue,â you murmur. âYour eyes are blue.â Without even thinking or asking, your hand lifts to cup his cheek, and then you pull back, âShit, sorryââ
But he grabs your wrist gently, placing your palm on his cheek. âItâs alright.â His thumb strokes the back of your hand. âI have been looking everywhere for you.â
âI thought you didnât exist,â you whisper in reply. But here he is. His eyes are blue, his lips are pink, he has tiny brown freckles all over his rosy cheeks. You look back to his eyes, narrowing your own. âYou liar. Your eyes have green in them, too.â
âDo they really?â Tom chuckles. âI never wouldâve known.â
âThatâs why you have me,â you tease, and you donât know where any of this is coming from, yet it doesnât feel like youâre pretending. It feels like youâre finally yourself.
His other hand tangles with yours as he nods. âThatâs why I have you, indeed.â
At this time, the lights in the theatre begin lightly flashing, signaling that itâs time for everyone to begin making their way to their seats.
But neither you or Tom move one inch.
The only issue is people are beginning to stare.
You notice it first, so you slowly pull your hand from his cheek. This movement shocks him back to reality, too, and he blinks a few times, yet he doesnât let go of your hand.
âI, um, I have to make a speech,â he says. âBut then I can come back to you. Will you save me a seat?â
âDonât you have to sit up front?â
He nods. âI do, butââ
âThen Iâll come with you.â You arenât sure if itâs the fact that he hasnât let go of your hand yet, or if itâs because youâve been waiting so long that now you donât want him to be further than an arms length away from you, but you mean what you say.
âAre you sure?â He asks, but you both need to make a decision quickly because you can see someone waving from the wings, most likely trying to get Tomâs attention.
âIâm sure.â
He doesnât question it, in fact, he grins, and brings your hand up to his lips, kissing your knuckles. âLetâs go, then.â

YOU GUYS ARE DATING
Corpse x MGK!sister reader
(Found this image on Pinterest so all credit goes to artist, if you know who it is please comment below so I can credit them)
A/N: this was requested by @heyitssab
Tree is tall of sex in this, but itâs more in a joking matter, plus corpse has stated he doesnât mind as long as you are not a minor or send or tag him. Iâm literally 2 years younger than him, and have no intentions of ever tagging him or sending him any of my work XD
Summary: how many idiots does it take to tell the brother and friend theyâre dating? Apparently takes 2 very forgetful people, who kept their relationship secret without knowing it.
It had just been by chance, a small chance that he had been scrolling through his tags. liking and reposting art, when he saw a tag from someone he followed. He wrecked his brain for when he had followed her, coming up empty. She was cute, no denying the beauty she had as she laughed in the video. It was a clip from a stream that he didnât know she had, as he couldnât even remember her name, wearing his merch as it fit her snug. It fit her perfectly in fact, the large hood covering her face, hiding the flush to her face from her rather large chuckles that left her body. He couldnât help but like the photo, and he couldnât help but to press message either.
It was first only small likes to posts, an Occasional message, and a view on their livestreams, but that all changed when he spoke of the song he was working on with her older brother.
It all started that night, when both lay in their beds as they talked, laughed, and felt their hearts flutter each time they heard one another speak.
Her phone rang violently in her bag, nearly making her drop the to go bag all over the ground as she walked. âHello?â She asked, as she held both bags with her hands as her shoulder gripped the phone as if itâd fall down a cliff. âHey bug!â He exclaimed, making her chuckle as she heard the booming sound of his voice. She had always detested the nickname, as he gave it to her as kids due to her horrendous fear of the creatures. But, it brought more joy to her, as it reminded her of their youth. Having been adults for years, it was fun to hear such a childish name thatâs stuck.
âHey mopey.â She chuckled, as that was the name she gave him when he was in his emo phase that he never outgrew.
Both talked as she walked towards the elevator, mainly about how his day had gone as she silently listened.
She had always been this way, always the shyer of the two, the one to listen to others first before she said a word. He had teased her for it most of their childhood and teen life, but he had grown to love it, as he could let loose or rant to her about anything, and he knew sheâd be there just to listen to him.
âSo whatâre you doing right now?â He asked, as she got into the elevator. âJust grabbed some dinner a few minutes before you called and nearly made me shit.â A smile painted on her face at his boisterous laughter.
âAre you at home?â He asked, as he heard the sound of the elevator beeping in the background. âNo, Iâm spending the night with my boyfriend.â
She had mentioned about a month prior that she was seeing someone, the joy it brought him to hear the excitement and joy in her tone as she gushed about their first date.
If this was 7 or 8 years prior, he would be bombarding her with questions about the man, who he was, where he lived, where he could meet him to find his intentions with his baby sister. But, in the last few years, he found himself feeling calmer whenever sheâd mentioned her love life. He knew she was smart, and would never date a man who treated her poorly. The few breakups she had, they always ended amicably, her head still high as she told him. So, he never asked her any questions about the man, as he could tell from the few times she mentioned him, he could feel the love this man had for her, and Vice versa.
The strong barreling of her phone alerted them awake, both groaning out as she reached for her phone without lifting her head from his shoulder. âHello?â She mumbled, voice slurred as the saliva was thick in her mouth, barely awake as she fought to listen in on who dares to wake them up.
âHey!â He exclaimed, making her equally exhausted lover groan. She shifted off of him, laying on her back as he turned away from her, as to hopefully shut his eyes and fall back asleep. She was used to her brother's large voice, as it hardly phased her after growing up with him. âColson, why are you calling me this ungodly hour?â âOh come on, itâs not that early.â âCol its-â She pulled her phone from her ear, eyes shutting violently as the bright light blinded her â5 oâclock in the morning. So again, Iâm going to ask you, why did you call me at the asscrack of dawn?â âYou donât remember?â He asked, making her irritation grow. âNo, thatâs why Iâm asking.â She says, as she rubbed her sleep crusted eyes. âYou were coming up today to hang out with casie, remember?â Her hand stopped rubbing her face, as she felt her heart stop momentarily. âWait, you mean today? I thought I was coming Friday?â âNo, both of you settled on today, remember I told you thatâs perfect because I have a day off?â She felt her heart pain as she heard the sadness in his tone, knowing heâs expecting her to bail. âYeah sorry, I thought you meant Friday so I mixed it up, let me get ready and Iâll be out the door okay? Love youâ she said, as she hung up the line.
Before she could even move, she felt his arm wrap around her body. A tired groan leaving his lips. âNooo stayyyy.â He groaned, pulling her body to his. She smiled as she looked down at him, wrapping her arm on his chest and the other behind his neck. âI wish I could live, but I canât.â Planting a soft kiss against his lips. âStay in bed for a few more hours, please?â Her heart pulled at his tone, hearing just how tired he was. âI canât, casies wanted me to come up for weeks now. And it takes a good 3 hours to get there. I wanna spend as much time as I can with them before it gets dark so I can get back safely.â He groaned at this, wrapping his arms around her. âYeah but itâs only 5, it wouldnât be safe to drive since we went to bed like, 2 hours ago.â âYeah, and whos fault was that mister?â She teased, âhmm, sorry but I just couldnât keep my hands to myself after not seeing you for a few days.â He mused, pulling her body closer to his, planting his lips against hers. A small hum left her lips as he pulled her thigh over his, grabbing the flesh harshly as their lips cascaded together. âMm, no no no, youâre not gonna convince me to stay here just to go another round.â She said, as she got off from his warm body, throwing his large hoodie over her bare body. âOh come on babe, are you sure about that?â He said, making her turn around to him. A small gasp left her lips as her eyes took in his milky white complexion. His honey brown eyes looking back at her with a small smile etched onto his face. His hair a tousled mess that resembled a bird's nest, some pieces falling onto his face. âHoney, Iâve been wanting to see my family for weeks now, I see you almost everyday and practically live here. Iâll be back tomorrow so I can grab more clothes from my place okay?â She placed a kiss to his lips, both holding one another in their arms. âI donât know why you donât just say fuck that place and just move in.â He mumbled, making her chuckle and heart warm. âDon't you think itâs a little soon though? I mean weâve only been together a few months love.â âYeah, but youâve practically lived here since we got together, you literally just go there to get more clothes that you end up leaving here.â She looked into his eyes as she thought about his words. âHm, Iâll think about it today okay?â She mused, planting a kiss to his lips. A soft okay leaving him as she got up.
âAnd babe, remember if you live here, we can have all the sex we want and not have to worry about driving to get one another.â He exclaimed, laughing at the loud honey she screamed from the bathroom.
She couldnât help but laugh out as she watched, as her niece tried her hardest to braid her fathers grown out hair. It was near impossible not to, as pieces would fall out, resulting in her pulling them harsher, nearly pulling his eyelids back due to the tension from his temples. âOkay okay youâre gonna fuckin scalp me.â He chuckled , as all three bursted out in large laughter.
âSo howâs school going this year?â She asked her, as she delicately painted her nails. Both of the girls had found themselves on the floor in front of the nice coffee table, as colson sat and chatted with them. âItâs going really well.â âOh yeah? Make any new friends?â She teased. âI mean, kinda.â She couldnât help but hear the wavering in her tone, spotting the faint blush dusting her skin. âOhh, so thereâs a someone eh?â She teased to her, making the preteen hide her face as to conceal the flush. âHis names Garrett, and we both take social studies together. He always sits next to me at lunch, and weâll draw on my notebook.â She gushed, making her smile. âSoo, do you think he likes you?â âI mean, thatâs what everyone keeps saying.â âYeah well donât worry about it to much cas, youâre not dating anyone for many more years. Youâre still a kid.â Her das said, making the young girls face fall.
Y/N knew he was only saying this to protect her, as he said the same thing to her growing up. âHey, donât be bummed out about it. He is right, you both are only 12 and should focus on school. But donât worry, heâll come around. He was just like that with me up until my current boyfriend.â She whispered, making the young girl chuckle.
âSpeaking of which, how are you guys doing?â He asked, as she hadnât mentioned hun to her in a while. He didnât think itâd hurt to ask. âGreat actually, weâre thinking of moving in together actually.â âThatâs great! Iâm really happy that yâall met.â âYeah, I am too.â She hummed, a flush dusting her cheeks.
Both men laughed as they chatted on the phone, talking about anything that would come to mind. What was once only a collaboration for a song, turned into an amazing friendship that caused both of them to call at late hours just to shoot the shit.
A yawn left his lips, as he listened to colson ramble on about another song he was making. âWoah, you tired man?â Colson asked, shocked to hear the sound. âYeah sorry, was up most of the night last night.â He mumbled, rubbing his eyes. âWere you feeling alright?â He asked, worry laced in his tone. He knew all about his friends illnesses, even once being on the other end of the phone during a bad spell one day.â âOh yeah yeah yeah, was just, up with the misses last night.â He chuckled, a flush blooming on his cheeks. âOhhh yeah? And how was it?â This shocked him, nearly feeling his heart stop. Like, does he usually know about his sisters sex life? He didnât think much of it, as he knew just how close both were. âIt was absolutely fucking amazing. Like I thought weâd be done for the night, fully tapped out but after like 5 minutes sheâd be right back on me for another round.â He chuckled, his flush even worse than before. âAyyyeee good for you corpse, glad to hear that puss is bussin.â He laughed at this, throwing his head back. âYeah, itâs bussin bussin.â
Both men talk as they read from their phones, eyes wide in absolute awe of the love they received from the song. They had just dropped it a few days prior, not expecting the cry of joy from both fan bases.
He didnât even look up from it when she walked in, until she bent down to plant a kiss to his forehead. âSorry I had completely forgot about the tea I made you an hour ago, but I put it back on the stove to heat it up so if itâs twisting funky just tell me okay?â Before he could even thank her, both their heads whipped towards the loudness from the other line. âY/N? Is that you? What in the hell are you doing there with corpse!â He didnât sound angry, more shocked than anything, both of them looking at the phone in confusion. âI, I love here? Remember I told you like a month ago I was moving in with him?â âWHAT!â Both jumped at the loud scream. âWait so you guys are dating!?â Both weâre even more perplexed, until it dawned on both of them. Their eyes wide as they turned their heads to one another slowly. âWait you didnât tell him?â âNo? Heâs one of your best friends so I thought you did!â âHeâs your brother! So I thought you did!â Both whisper, until all three lay silent. That was until, the large cry of laughter that leaves the two, leaving colson even more confused. He wasnât mad, not at all actually. More shocked and confused than anything. Until he started thinking, it does make sense, all the times they spoke about one another without him knowing, all the times they mentioned-âOH GOD!â He yelled, gagging violently, making them stop their laughing fit. âWhat's wrong? Why are you yelling?â She asks âlike a month ago corpse was talking about how he was tired cause he was up all night having sex AND I HAD NO IDEA HE WAS TALKING ABOUT YOU! OH GOD WAS THAT WHY YOU WERE LIMPING THAT DAY WITH CAS AND I!â Both laugh even harder, as they listen to his ever growing gags.
âSo yeah,. Thatâs literally how we had no idea we were keeping the relationship secret from her brother.â He laughed, as he red the comments and listened to his friends' laughter. She sat beside him, head laying on his shoulder as he told the story. She couldnât help but to look back up into his eyes, as he glanced down at her, planting a soft kiss to her lips. âKeep it pg guys.â Colson said from the other line, making them chuckle.

Almost (c.e.)
Pairing: Chris Evans x reader
Word Count: ~5.9k
Summary: You and Chris were set up on a blind date by your mutual friends. Sparks flew, but you never heard from him again. Two years later, you come face-to-face with him once more for their friends wedding.
Warnings: Some angst, swearing, not much else
A/N: This is a mixture of the movie âLife as We Know Itâ (mmm Daddy Josh Duhamel đ¤¤), a dating experience I had, and one scene from One Tree Hill. Enjoy.
My Masterlist
          Two years agoâŚ
My heart is pounding all the way to my ears. My hands are shaking under the table. My knee bounces uncontrollably as I wait.
I knew this was a bad idea. Why did I let her convince me to do this?
âYou havenât had a boyfriend for as long as Iâve known you.â My best friend so pointedly mentioned when we were out to lunch last week.
âWhatâs wrong with that?â I counter.
âIâve known you for three and a half years.â She deadpans. Even without looking at her, I know she has her eyebrow raised at me and her lips are pursed.
âYour point?â I know she thinks my serious lack of companionship these past few years is wearing on me, but itâs been quite the opposite. Not being attached is freeing. I can do what I want when I want; I donât have anyone to answer to. If I want to sleep until 3 on a Saturday, Iâm going to do it. If I donât want to socialize with anyone, I wonât. If I want to take a spontaneous road trip, Iâm going to do it. My life is my own and thatâs how I like it.
âI want my best friend to have someone to experience life with.â
My shoulders dropped, sighing in defeat. There was no way I was getting out of this conversation.
âI want you to be as happy as I am.â I see the love in her eyes as her mind goes to her boyfriend and their new relationship. Theyâve only been together for a few months, but I know that this is it for her. Sheâs a smitten kitten and he is equally as infatuated with her. Theyâre sickeningly cute. âWhich is why I think you need to meet one of his friends-â
âLemme stop you right there,â I interrupt her, âI hate blind dates.â
âYouâve never been on one.â
âAnd thereâs a reason for that.â She rolled her eyes at me. âTheyâre clichĂŠ, theyâre awkward for both parties, and they never amount to anything, thus being a total waste of time.â
She sighed, âEver the skeptic.â
âAnd donât you forget it.â
âRegardless,â she continues, âI think youâll really like this guy. Heâs already expressed interest in you.â
Like that makes everything better. âGreat so now I have to live up to his impossible expectations of me when I know absolutely nothing about him.â As if the idea of a blind date wasnât bad enough, now itâs only a semi-blind date. Thereâs no doubt in my mind that she has hyped me up impossibly high, thatâs what a best friend is for. However, when your confidence level is next to none and already skeptical of the pending meeting, thereâs no way heâll like who I am in reality.
âI can tell you anything you want to know about him.â She is bargaining with me. She really wants me to meet this guy. She wouldnât be trying this hard if she didnât believe we would hit it off.
âWell is he nice?â This was the only real question I had. If he isnât kind then thereâs really no future.
âIncredibly!â She continues to tell me of the many things he has done for a charity he started a few years ago and slowly but surely she was starting to convince me. If he was that generous then he has to have a good heart and therefore is a good man.
How bad could it be?
I check my phone, glancing at the time. Great, heâs late. That canât be a good start.
Numerous reasons why popped into my head.
Reason one: he saw me and bolted.
Reason two: he got into an accident on the way here and he could be in the hospital.
Reason three: he changed his mind and decided to stand me up.
More and more played through my head as I sipped my drink.Â
By the time I was on my second drink, I was convinced he wasnât showing up. I knew this was a ridiculous idea. I knew I shouldnât have done this. I never should have listened to her.
I chugged the rest of my drink followed by some water before standing up to leave some cash. I was slightly humiliated for actually thinking this would be any different than all of my expectations.
My shoulder rammed into another as I turned to leave.
âOh my, God, Iâm so sorry!â A hand steadied me, gently grabbing the shoulder he ran into. âAre you okay?â
âMy already small ego is a little bruised, but I think Iâll live.â I looked up to meet my assaulterâs eyes and immediately I froze.
Holy shit, itâs Chris Evans.
His piercing blue eyes were staring right at me, his concern was directed towards me. In all of his charming, ray of sunshine, bearded glory, he was here.
âIâm so sorry that Iâm late. Traffic was insane over the bridge. I would have called but I donât have your number.â He half-smirked but not in a cocky way. Iâd seen him do it in interviews before. He could have come up with a lame excuse, but somehow I knew he was telling the truth.
âNo, itâs okay. I understand completely.â
He sighed in relief, his gorgeous and perfect smile taking over his features. He looked down at the table and it disappeared. âWere you leaving?â
âUh,â I stammered, âI was because I thought I was being stood up.â
âI feel awful. Please let me make it up to you. Letâs sit down, have a nice dinner, and get to know each other.â
I hesitate, now even more nervous than I was before.
As if sensing my hesitation, he decided to sweeten the pot a bit to persuade me, âWe can even get dessert.â
I chuckle at his attempt. Thatâll do it though. I sit back down with him following suit, finally starting our date.
We talked about everything. Anything and everything. No topic was off limits. Hours went by but it felt like minutes. We didnât even know how long weâd been there until our waiter came to tell us that the restaurant was closed. We left and walked around the city until the night sky was giving way to the morning. He accompanied me back to my car, gave me the best hug Iâve ever received and a kiss on the cheek, promising weâll get together again soon, and opening and closing my car door for me. I drove away with the biggest smile on my face and literal butterflies in my stomach. That was the best date Iâd ever been on.
When I made it back to my apartment with the early morning rays peeking through my shades, I had a text message waiting for me from him. Just a simple good night, he had had an amazing time, and he couldnât wait to see me again.
I fell asleep, hopeful. Hopeful that I would see him again, that this could maybe go somewhere. I donât want to get ahead of myself, but it was hard not to. I hadnât felt this way in an exceptionally long time. I havenât been on this good of a date in equally as long. I canât wait to see him againâŚ
           Present day...
I finally pull into the parking lot after an hour stuck in traffic. My 12-hour day at work today has taken a lot out of me. Iâm exhausted, mentally and physically. Thankfully though, my 2-week-long vacation starts tomorrow. After that, I have fourteen days of no working, no getting up at the ass crack of dawn to be able to drive in miserable traffic, no dealing with difficult or boring co-workers. Just fourteen days of rest and relaxation, after the wedding of course.
My best friend and her fiancĂŠ are getting married on Saturday. Iâve watched them go through all of their highs and lows throughout the last few years and when he came to me telling me he planned on proposing, I couldnât have been happier for them. He even asked me to secretly photograph the moment for her. She was more than surprised about everything.
Now their wedding is here and everyone couldnât be more excited to celebrate them.
Tomorrow is their rehearsal dinner. The wedding party and their plus ones are all invited.
I walk into my apartment, immediately relieving myself from the confines of my shoes. A heavenly scent registers to me and Iâm carried all the way to the kitchen. I see my sexy boyfriend standing at the stove with his back towards me.
âHey babe,â he calls without turning around.
I hum, happily making my way towards him. I wrap my arms around his waist, placing a kiss on his back. âWhat is that unbelievable smell?â
He chuckles, vibrating through his chest. âYour favorite, of course.â
I hum again, âYou spoil me, baby.â
He chuckles again, turning in my arms. His handsome face finally came into view. His gorgeous brown eyes look into mine as I get lost in his. For the past year, Iâve been the happiest Iâve been in a while. Since the day I met him, it was like everything fell into place. Heâs sweet, ambitious, funny, kindhearted, passionate, and just overall the best man I had ever met. He makes me so happyâŚ
Oh who am I kidding? Heâs perfect. He is everything I ever wanted. If I made a list of all of the qualities I wanted in a husband, he would check off every single box.
But the feelings I have had for him over the last year are nothing compared to what I had in one night for him. I find myself wishing his eyes were bright blue instead of dark brown. I wish his arms were around me instead of the ones around me right now. The butterflies from that night have stayed dormant ever since.
I donât know what happened after that night. I honestly thought we had a good time that night. Conversations flowed seamlessly. We made each other laugh so hard we had tears running down our faces. The physical connection was there- at first he had his arm around my shoulders as we walked around town, but as time went on he slowly moved lower around my waist, eventually intertwining our hands together until we arrived back at our cars. He even said that he wanted to see me again.
But I never heard from him again after that one text message. No call, no text, not even a message from my friendâs boyfriend. Nothing. I was disappointed beyond belief. I didnât think he was that guy: the type to ditch someone without any explanation or goodbye. I thought I understood him to be a gentleman. Everything I had read about him pointed to him being one of the purest humans in the world. This was the opposite of all of that.
From that day on, Iâve loathed him. He gave me the perfect evening and then cut me off cold turkey from anything further. I have a three strike rule. His first: he was late. His second: he tricked me into liking him. His third: he lied to me. Three strikes and heâs out.
I have tried not to look back since. Itâs not without its difficulties though since heâs literally everywhere. On magazine covers, in commercials, movie trailers, streaming services- heâs there. Why did he have to be such a successful actor? If he werenât, it would make for forgetting him that much easier.
No closure. No answers. Nothing.
The rehearsal dinner went smoothly the next night which hopefully was foreshadowing for the big day itself.Â
A majority of us were standing around about to start when the doors loudly being opened drew everyoneâs attention away from our milling about. A man stood in the middle of the doorway then strode in like he owned the place. The closer he got, the more the details of his face came into focus.
No. Freaking. Way.
I look toward my best friend. She looked like she wasnât shocked he was late, but she knew he was coming. I creep up behind her and clear my throat. Instantly she cringed.
âDid you forget to tell me something?â I whisper to her.
She sends me an apologetic smile, âWell, I actually put off telling you âcause I didnât know how you would react and then I meant to tell you last night but with the whole âIâm getting married in two daysâ buzz took over and now the rehearsal is here-â
âJust please tell me Iâm not walking in with him.â I beg.
She chuckles nervously before she escaped to go greet him with her fiancĂŠ.
I turn to her sister who is also one of my closest friends. âDid you know he was going to be a groomsman?â
The guilt written in her face tells me everything I need to know. âShe made me promise not to tell you.â
I groan, âThe loyalty level around here is staggeringly low.â
I head over to where my boyfriend is standing and take comfort in his arms before I have to deal with the man who broke my heart.
âAre you okay?â He asks a little confused by my actions.
I nod, âJust tired from last night.â He chuckles at the mention of the night before, squeezing me into his chest.
âAlright everyone! Time to get started.â The wedding coordinator beckons us all to the back entrance of the barn standing next to our corresponding wedding party member. I stand right in front of the Maid of Honor and Best Man. I kept my eyes forward focusing on anything but the guy who took his place next to me.
âItâs good to see you,â He murmurs to me over the instructions of the coordinator.
I scoff and roll my eyes. He has the nerve to say that to me after two years of silence. I imagined a million times what it would be like to see him again. Iâd imagined a lot of screaming with possible hitting. Or I thought about the ever-effective, old fashioned silent treatment. He doesnât deserve to know that our one night out together effected me so much and Iâve carried a rather large torch for him ever since. At the very moment, it will be the latter, but thereâs no telling what tonight and tomorrow will bring.
âNow ladies, rest- donât grab- your hand near the crook of his arm. Men, keep your arm at that angle with an open hand resting on your stomach- no fist. And donât forget to smile- this is a happy day!â As quickly as he showed up, the coordinator was on to the bride and her father before either of us could register he was there.
I begrudgingly did as I was instructed, ârestingâ my hand on his bare forearm, holding a stand-in bouquet for the occasion in my other hand.
âAre you not going to talk to me?â He speaks again but I ignore him once more.
Thankfully that was when it was our turn to walk down the aisle. For the rest of the rehearsal, he didnât get a chance to say anything else. As soon as we were done, I go straight for my boyfriend. I figured thereâs no way he would approach me if I were with another man.
We all head to the restaurant afterwards to celebrate the last night before our friends begin their lives together as husband and wife. I keep my distance from Chris, always sticking close with my boyfriend.
The one moment I was alone was when I went to the bathroom. I thought for the few minutes I wouldnât be in danger.
However I was wrong.
As soon as I step out an arm shot out in front of me. A very pale muscular arm.
âAre you seriously going to ignore me for the next two days?â
I duck under his arm fully planning on continuing what I set out to do.
âY/N,â he grabs my arm, âwill you please talk to me? What did I do to make you so mad at me?â
I whip around hopefully sending daggers his way. âAre you serious right now?â
âShe finally speaks!â He exclaims.
âBecause I cannot believe what Iâm hearing. Like, I donât think I heard you right.â All of the feelings Iâve been burying for two years were making their way up to the surface and I donât think I can stop them. âWe had a fantastic night. It was literally the best night of my life, it was the most comfortable with a guy that I had ever been. You made me laugh, you gave me butterflies, you helped me feel for the first time in years.â I try to swallow down the lump that was forming in my throat. âYou told me you wanted to see me again. You made me excited for the future for once in my life⌠and then you took it away.â
With every second that passed, his expression got closer and closer to utter defeat: his shoulders slumped, his grip on my arm loosened, his jaw slowly unclenched, his eyebrows furrowed.
âYou were late,â I hold up one finger, âYou tricked me,â two fingers,â âYou lied to me.â Three fingers were up and in front of his face for emphasis. âThree strikes and youâre out.â
I back away from him, having nothing more I wanted to say. As soon as I turned the corner, I felt liberated⌠for about five seconds. When that passed, devastation hit. For the last two years, Iâve held out hope- I tried not to- but I did, that maybe someday something could happen between us. That maybe, just maybe, we could pick up where we left off that night.
Now that the moment of confrontation has come and gone, I feel all the hope fade away. All of those possibilities I pictured have left the building. Being with him is no longer an option. I have my boyfriend who makes me happy, who gives me everything I could possibly want.
The rest of the night went on without another incident. Chris kept his distance. However, I could feel his eyes on me for every second that passed as we sat at the table. It was a relief when we finally left and could retreat back to our hotel rooms for the night. The bride and I got to stay in a suite that weâll all be getting ready in in the morning. They wanted to uphold the ânot seeing each other the night before the wedding,â even though theyâve lived with each other for a year and a half now.
On the wedding day, everything went according to plan. Everyone was on time to hair and make-up, pictures went flawlessly, the weather cooperated with everything, Chris didnât attempt to talk to me at all- it was a perfect day to watch two people who love each other commit to the other for the rest of their lives.
But then came the reception. Thatâs when I knew apparently all bets would be off. The ceremony was over. Niceties would wear off as more and more alcohol is consumed. I was not looking forward to it.
We make our ridiculous entrances and take our seats at the head table. We eat then speeches were made. Lots of laughs were had as the Best Man dished on stories he had with the groom growing up, a few tears were shed at her sisterâs after recounting the moment the bride knew he was the man of her dreams- overall Iâd say they were a success.
Again, I felt his eyes on me, burning holes in the side of my head from the other side of the groom for the entire dining portion of the evening. I kept myself from glancing in his direction, instead focusing on the conversations with the brideâs sister next to me and my boyfriend who is across the way- anything not to meet his eyes.
Finally the DJ announces it was time for all to convene on the dancefloor after the specialty dances. I immediately see my boyfriend start to stand, knowing heâd been ready for this all night. Iâd been looking forward to dancing with him all night as well, I even removed my shoes in anticipation. As I stand up, a hand is held out in front of me. I knew whose hand it was. I remember staring at it as he would rub his lips on our date. The strength of it as it intertwined with mine as we walked down the streets of our town, the safeness I felt as he squeezed it if he detected I was getting anxious around a group of people and I needed the reassurance. I knew that hand well, unfortunately.
âDance with me?â He nearly whispers in my ear. I didnât realize he was that close until I could feel said whisper on my neck. I contain the shiver that runs down my spine at how husky his voice is. God Iâve missed thatâŚ
No! I will not be enchanted by him again. He does not deserve me.
I exhale the breath I was holding, it comes out a lot harsher than I expected. âNo, thank you.â I turn away from him, but his hand gently grabs my arm stopping me from going any further.
He whispers again, âHeâs not good enough for you,â before walking away.
Iâm frozen in place. I glare at his retreating back as he makes his way over to the bar. My mouth hangs open in disbelief. How dare he⌠How fucking dare he assume anything about me or my relationship. He doesnât know anything about what our relationship is like. My boyfriend treats me so well, spoils me even though I know I donât deserve it. He listens to me, he cares about me, and he makes me laugh until I cry- heâs everything Iâve wanted in a man. Chris is the one who had his chance and subsequently blew it. He has no right to judge or even comment on my relationship when he knows absolutely nothing about it.
I hurriedly make my way to my awaiting boyfriend and pull him onto the crowded dancefloor. âYou okay?â He asks me, âDid he say something to upset you?â
âNothing worth repeating.â All I wanted to do was forget about him and his irrelevant feelings towards my relationshipâŚ
âŚExcept I couldnât. His words rattled me. Does he see something I donât? He told me on our date that heâs an excellent judge of character so he wouldnât say something like that unless he got a bad feeling, right? Either that or he said it just to get under my skin and force me to talk to him. No matter the reason I hate him for it because my pride wonât let it stand.
I spot him leaning against the bar, staring directly at the two of us over the rim of his glass. His perfect eyebrow quirks up at the eye contact, that sets my blood to boiling. He thinks heâs so smug. I wish I could just slap that stupid hidden smirk right off his perfect faceâŚ
Following a few dances, I mutter something about him going to dance with the bride to my boyfriend before exiting the dancefloor. I rush out of the barn, away from the crowd needing some air from his suffocating gaze. I find a little lit area thatâs perfect for pictures. There are rectangular hay bales set together as a makeshift U-shaped bench with some low watt bulbs strung up above between two poles. It would be serene if I werenât already on edge.
After taking a few deep breaths, I finally feel like I can speak without yelling. âYou had no right.â
I didnât have to turn around to know he followed me out here. Itâs exactly what I wanted him to do, just like it was his intention to get under my skin. As much as I wished to avoid this conversation it seems that we canât go on without it. We may tear each other apart in the process, but this is my chance for closure. This is my only opportunity to get the answers Iâve been needing to move on for the past two years. Two years of wondering what went wrong after the most perfect date Iâve ever been on with an equally perfect man has been eating at my heart and mind. I hated always wondering âwhat ifâ or âwhat would I be doing right now if I were with himâ especially when I started dating my boyfriend. I had no answers as to why those questions could not be. I thought with time Iâd stop asking them, thinking Iâd never see the man again. Heâs a big movie star, why would he wonder about a woman he went on one date with?
As I expected, his deep baritone voice comes behind me, but his words do little to ease my nerves. In fact they set them off even more so than before. âIâm sorry.â
I scoff at his half-hearted apology, knowing he doesnât mean it at all. âOh bite me, Christopher.â I turn around to face him. God he looks even better out here. The subtle gold glow from the lights are complimenting his skin tone, they make his baby blues shine which just frustrates me more.
âPlease, Y/N,-â He takes a step closer to me, but I wonât have that.Â
âNo,â I take a step back keeping the needed distance between us for fear I may strangle him. âI donât want to hear any of your bullshit excuses. You had no right to pass judgment on a relationship that you know absolutely nothing about.â
He slips his hands into the pockets of his dress pants. âOh, Iâve seen enough.â
âReally?â I jut my hip out, resting my hand on it. âIn the two days youâve been here, you think youâve got us all figured out?â
âYes,â he answers with conviction.Â
My shaking hands clench into fists, trying my damnedest not to lose control. I entangle them into my hair as best as I can without ruining the work the hairstylist did this morning before running them down my face. He has some nerve.Â
âWe had one night. One night! One nearly perfect night together and suddenly that makes you an expert on what is good for me?â
âI wouldnât say âan expertâ-â
âI wouldnât say anything!â I interrupt, âI never heard from you again. Now after two years, you come in here acting like you know anything about me or my relationship? Who do you think you are?â
âA man who made a mistake!â He snaps.
There was a long pause. I never expected to hear that from him. All these years I wanted to think the worst of him for leaving me hanging like that. He got my hopes up, thinking we may have a future together only for them to come crashing back down to Earth when he never contacted me again. I wondered and wondered if maybe I read the signals wrong. Maybe I took his flirting as more than it was. Maybe the small gestures like his arm around my shoulders, on the small of my back, or the hand holding were only him being friendly. I wracked my brain going over every single detail of the night to try and pinpoint a reason for him not to have called me afterwards. I found nothing, which was equally as frustrating.
âAlright, I made a mistake.â He moves to sit on one of the hay bales. He rests his elbows on his knees and buries his head in his hands, letting out a huge sigh. âGod I wanted everything with you.â
Once again, Iâm frozen by his words. He what? But that doesnât make sense. His words and his actions donât line up- how could that be?
He removes his hands from his face, staring at the grass. âAfter that night, I wanted it all. I wanted to settle down, get the house with a white picket fence in the suburbs, carry you through the threshold after our wedding day, bring our children home from the hospital, watch them grow until weâre old and gray. I wanted everything.â
My heart aches. All of that was exactly what I wanted, especially with him. I could feel the tears building behind my eyes, my heart breaking mourning the loss of what we could have had by now if he had only said something.
I also find my anger growing as well. If he felt all of that, why did he not contact me again? Why did he give me hope that our night out together could have been the start of something good and then taken it away just as quickly?
âBut?â There had to be a âbutâ coming after his statement. Clearly something stopped him from pursuing the possibility of âus,â destroying any future we could have had.
He sighs, âbutâŚâ he finally looks up at me with more emotion in his eyes than I was expecting. There was contemplation, confusion, honesty, agonyâŚ
I look away. In an instant I knew what he was about to say. It makes complete sense. He was at the height of his career, shooting movie after movie all around the world for a majority of the year. How would he have had time to have a relationship mixed in with that? He couldnât.
âYour career was more important,â I interject, âI get it. I do.â I couldnât fault him for choosing work over someone he just met, no matter how much he claims to have liked me right off the bat. He was going to be busy. We probably wouldnât have had a lot of time to see each other. Itâs not like I could give up my career to follow him. Besides even if I could have, he wouldnât want that. He said so himself. He wanted someone who was independent; who could do their own thing and not be enveloped in his crazy life.
He stands up and steps closer to me, âno, that wasnât it. I promise you that wasnât it.â
Thereâs that word. Promise. He promised weâd see each other again soon after our night together. But he broke that.
âThen what was it?â My voice cracks at the end. I can feel my reserves slipping the more he speaks. I didnât realize how much I missed his voice until now. I havenât seen any of the movies heâs been in the last few years. I have him and his hashtag blocked on all social media platforms so I donât see anything of his on any of my timelines. My other friends think I donât like him (only my best friend and her now husband know about our date). To hear it again brings back all of the good memories we made together in that short night and all of the emotions Iâve been holding back since. âI have been wracking my brain for years wondering what went wrong after that.â
âI got scared,â he finally admits the truth. âI got scared of how much I liked you and how much I wanted to protect you.â
âFrom what?â
âFrom me,â he casts his gaze down at his hands as he fidgets with them, âand my life. I didnât want to subject you to the chaos that is my life. I know what my fans would do to you if we were in a relationship, I was trying to protect you from all of the ugly that being with me comes with.â
So thatâs what he was afraid of? He was afraid our relationship would inevitably end exactly like his last one? His âfansâ were horrible to her. They sent death threats to her and her family members, always commenting negatively on her social media pages all because she was dating him. I remember reading about it right after it happened. I knew that side of his fandom was toxic. But did I care? No. Did I think I couldnât handle it? I honestly donât know, but would I have been willing to deal with it for him? Yes. I would have given up anything to be with him. Thatâs precisely why he did what he did. He didnât want me giving anything up for him because he knows Iâd be giving up any semblance of privacy I had if I were in a public relationship with him.
If I had known these were the reasons why he ghosted me, I would have been broken hearted but I would have understood. Hell, I probably would have fallen more in love with him if I knew that, not fallen in loathe.
He continues, âI thought that if I never contacted you again, you could move onâ- he clears his throat-âand find someone better than me who could give you the normal life you deserve. Which as much as I wish I couldnât, I see that you haveâŚâ he pauses as if deciding whether he should keep speaking. When I donât stop him, he does, âBut I canât help feeling like that could have been me.â
My slightly shaky hands cover his fidgeting ones. His hand moves until heâs intertwining our fingers together, palms touching. They fit perfectly together as if they were each otherâs missing puzzle piece. His thumbs stroke mine sending warmth down my arms all the way down to my toes. The sparks I felt back then return with full force. He leans down, pressing his forehead against mine. My heart is beating out of my chest, I wouldnât be surprised if he didnât feel it in some way.
I feel my heart break in my chest. My lip quivers and the tears threaten to make themselves known. My only saving grace is the fact that he canât see my face. I may lose it completely if he did.
His breath is coming out equally as shaky between us, he squeezes my hands as if he doesnât want me to let go. Believe me, I donât want to. I bring one of our interlocked hands up to my lips. I kiss the back of his hand because I canât kiss him where I want to. I pull back just enough to see his beautiful baby blues that could have any woman in the world swoon. They were terribly bloodshot right now but that only made them more tragically breathtaking. I tear one of my hands out of his and bring it to his cheek. He leans into it, a tear drops into the crevices between the contact.
The barely above whisper that came out was all I could muster without having a total breakdown because heâs right. It could have been him. We could have been something great. We could have built a life together. We could have had it all. And it broke my heart into a million pieces knowing all of this could have been avoided if life had handed both of us different lives.
âIt almost was.â

The Long Con Part Four
Previous Part | Masterlist | Next Part Pairing: Marcus Pike x Reader Rating: T Notes: I hope yâall had a good week! đ Warnings: Cursing; f l u f f; me pretending that I know literally anything about art history Summary: Marcus was by your side at nearly every turn, and you could see the nerves dropping off of him more and more.Â
Walter Pike was as welcoming as the rest of Marcusâ family, though you found him to be a bit more quiet in comparison to Jill and Marnie. Dinner that evening was on the Pikeâs raised back porch - nice and low key. The porch overlooked the sprawling backyard that Marcus and Marnie had spent their childhood zipping around and skinning their knees in. Despite your earlier nerves, you felt welcomed and unpressured. Marcus was by your side at nearly every turn, and you could see the nerves dropping off of him more and more. That was, until Marnie diverted the conversation from wedding prep yet to be done to how the two of you had met.Â
âWork,â Marcus answered automatically, sounding just a little pleased with himself. âRight, you said that, but how?â Jill asked. Before Marcus could flounder, you jumped in: âI grew up around a lot of artists, and a lot of those artists...Recreated works, letâs say,â You said, casting Marcus a small, reassuring smile, âIâm a bit of a specialist when it comes to forgeries. The Bureau calls on me to ask for help every once in a while, when a piece looks a little too good to be true-- Someone turns up with a crate of freshly painted Seurats, that kinda thing,â The Pikes chuckled, âThey have me come in, take a look, see if I recognize the techniques used.â âWas this the Rose--Thing case?â Jill asked. âRosepoint,â Marcus corrected, âAnd yes, actually. A Vermeer turned up-- Or it seemed to have turned up.â âIt was a fake?â Marnie asked. âUnfortunately,â You nodded, âIt was one of the paintings stolen from the Isabella Gardner Museum back in â90 -- The Concert. Itâs a beautiful piece. It was found during a-- Drug bust?â You looked to Marcus to confirm, and he nodded, âWell, sometimes goods like that are held or traded as collateral for product.â âHowâd you know it was a fake?â Walter asked. âThereâs a painting within the painting of The Procuress by Van Baburen, and within that painting, thereâs a man. His eyes are supposed to be directed down and a little to the right, at someone else in the portrait, but they were peering out of the portrait-- at the viewer, essentially. Sort of the way the girl with the glass does in Renoirâs Luncheon of the Boating Party-- but the lighting in that portion of that painting is darker, itâs harder to read, and itâs not the focus. Anyway, I knew of a few people that would like to play...Pranks like that with their work, and wouldâve been able to recreate that painting with that level of detail.â âOnly two of them were in range at the time of the bust,â Marcus added, âOne of them had the wrong types of materials anywhere in his workshop and trash-- we checked his credit card or bank statements going back years, and the other had⌠A workshop full of practice work on The Concert.â âIâm told that thatâs what they call a âsmoking gunâ,â You teased, and Marcus grinned at you. âHer lectures are fascinating, too,â Marcus told his family softly, though he was watching you. That was one facet that the two of you hadnât discussed, and you could tell from the ease with which he said it that he wasnât lying. You gave him a sheepish smile before lowering your eyes. âLectures?â Walter frowned. âOh, Iâm an art professor when Iâm not using my X-Ray vision to fight crime,â You explained. âDid you ask her out immediately?â Marnie asked her brother knowingly. âAh,â Marcus raised his free hand, rubbing at the back of my neck, âNo, I...I took some time to get there. Well, you know when I got to D.C., Teresa and I were still together, and then parted ways. The Rosepoint case happened while I was undercover.â You felt Jillâs eyes dart toward you at the mention of Marcusâ ex-fiancĂŠ. You gave her a small smile and a nod, and she leaned back in her seat, relieved. You chuckled quietly. âI actually didnât ask her out until a couple of months ago,â Marcus added, running his thumb over your knuckles, âAfter the Coleman case.â -- âOkay,â Marcus conceded with a sleepy mumble as he tugged his sleep shirt on, âYou made a good point about running our story as many times as we did. That was...We were good.â âAnd weâre gonna keep being good, Marky,â You teased, reaching out and poking his nose. He chuckled softly, wrinkling his nose. âSo, umâŚâ He cleared his throat, âI have a few files that I brought with me, I figured Iâd take âem downstairs and-- Iâll sleep down there. If anyone asks, I fell asleep down on the couch going over work, so weâre square,â He offered. Your brow furrowed as you watched Marcus stoop down and pull a couple of work files out of his bag. â...Oh,â You said after a moment. âYeah. So Iâll see you in the morning.â âOkay. Night,â You smiled at Marcus as he left. Your smile wilted a little as he shut the door behind himself. You looked around his room, rubbing your hands over your arms. You still had to change into your pajamas, but you couldnât stop yourself from looking around a bit first. The walls were a hunter green; two of the walls were lined with bookshelves that were crammed with books. There was a desk, and a reading chair by the window. Marcus had an ensuite bathroom as well, so you didnât have to share with the rest of the family for the week. You sighed, glancing toward the door. You didnât like the idea of Marcus sleeping on the couch. You werenât sure if it was because he was uncomfortable, or because he was worried that you would be. You didnât want to force the man out of his own bed. You glanced toward the full-size mattress. Maybe the two of you wouldâve been...Close, but there was room enough for the both of you. -- You turned over for the umpteenth time, eyeing the digital clock. The menacing red numbers read 12:39. You groaned quietly, turning up to look at the ceiling. You groaned again, throwing the covers off. You opened the door and walked out of the room as quietly as you could, walking down the steps quietly. You could see Marcus laid out on the couch, under a blanket that -- really didnât cover him. You crouched down beside him, resting a hand on his shoulder. âHey,â You murmured, giving his shoulder a gentle squeeze. Marcus took a moment to rouse before he opened his eyes. âHey,â he mumbled, voice thick with sleep, âYou okay?â âCome upstairs,â You urged softly, âI donât mind sharing âlong as you donât.â Marcus took a moment to process that before he asked, âAre you sure?â You smiled a little and straightened, holding a hand out to him. Marcus pushed the blanket off and took hold of your hand, letting you tug him off of the couch and lead him up the stairs. He shut the door behind you, and the two of you slipped under the covers, and you settled down, head heavy on the pillow, the warmth of Marcus nearby.
--
The cheery chorus of Pike, âMorning!âs are a little jarring, but you gave them a sleepy smile and a soft, âGood morning.â Their chatter filled back in easily as you headed for Marcus.Â
It was almost stunning, how soft and sleep-ruffled Marcus looked, leaning back against the counter. But youâd hardly blinked the sleep out of your eyes. Maybe it was because you were still half-asleep, maybe the morning light seeping through the kitchen curtains behind him was skewing your view.Â
âHi there,â He greeted.Â
âHi,â You mumbled, looping your arms around his waist and resting your head on his shoulder. You had woken up alone, and hadnât wanted to seem rude by lingering in bed for too long. You sighed, closing your eyes as Marcusâ arms curled around your shoulders. âI was gonna bring you some coffee,â He admitted, âYou sleep alright?âÂ
âMhm.â
âStill want that coffee?âÂ
âAll of it. Coffee pot and a straw,â You mumbled. Marcus laughed softly, turning his head and brushing his lips across your forehead.Â
âFresh potâs being brewed now,â He told you, âSoon as itâs set, I will hand it right to you.â
âAnd a straw?â
âAnd a straw.âÂ
âBendy?â
âIâll see what I can find.âÂ
âMmkay,â You sighed, tipping your head up to look at him. You found Marcus smiling down at you. He nudged his nose against yours sweetly, and you felt your stomach flutter with anticipation.Â
The two of you had talked about this a couple of times since youâd reassured Marcus that you were fine with physical affection, and with kissing. Once, when youâd been at dinner, youâd thought Marcus might give you a kiss - just to sort of break the ice. Youâd never worked your way up to initiating it yourself.Â
But now Marcus was looking at you from under his lashes, his eyes warm, calming. His lips were close, and tempting. Marcusâ eyes searched yours for a few moments before he dipped his head, dropping a chaste kiss to your lips. You tipped your chin up, slipping your lips against his. You felt your eyes close as Marcusâ hand slid down your shoulder to smooth over your back. Marcus tilted his head to the side, the kiss deepening slightly, unhurriedly, as he cuddled you closer to him. You curled your fingers in the fabric of his sleep shirt, sighing quietly.Â
You hadnât noticed that the kitchen had gone quiet behind you. You hadnât even noticed how engrossed youâd become in Marcusâ touch until you heard the thud of Marnieâs mug being set down in the sink beside the two of you. You startled a little bit, leaning away from Marcus and ducking your head, embarrassed.Â
âHi, Marnie,â You muttered.Â
âWith a kiss like that, itâs a wonder I didnât hear anything go âbumpâ in the night,â She teased, glancing between you and Marcus. You smiled a little as Marcus groaned, turning his head from his sister and pressing his face against your head.
âHowâs the Air Supply poster?â You retorted. Marnie grinned.Â
âYou know what, it actually fell last night. Scared the shit outta me. Coffeeâs ready,â She tacked on before stepping away from the counter. You nodded, muttering your thanks as Marnie pushed away from the counter. You glanced up at Marcus and found him searching your face. He leaned in, murmuring against your temple, âWas that okay?âÂ
Was he kidding?
Then again, with what you knew of Marcus Pike, no. He was not. You nodded, leaning up and pecking his lips.
âMore than,â You reassured softly, âNow where do you guys keep the bendy straws?â Tag list: @hufflepuffing-all-day-long ; @spideysimpossiblegirl ; @blueeyesatnight ; @elen-aranel ; @yespolkadotkitty ; @artsymaddie ; @phoenixhalliwell ; @lunaserenade ; @winniedaboo  ; @empress-palpat1ne ; @randomness501 ; @nutmeg-20 ; @leonieb ; @the-feckless-wonder ; @lou-la-lou ; @captain-jebi ; @supernaturalgirl ; @naturenebula21 ; @evelynseventyr ; @giselatropicana ; @heatherbel ; @marydjarin ; @annathewitch ; @absurdthirstâ ; @hnt-escapeâ ; @writingletterstothefireâ

Baby, Iâve Already got Your Heart
Summary: An accidental meeting between Armin and Y/N leads to an unhealthy obsession. Pairing: Armin Arlert x Fem!Reader (modern AU) Warnings: stalking, language, unprotected sex, loss of virginity, fingering, oral sex (male receiving), oral sex (female receiving), switch!Reader, switch!Armin, rope is involved. Word Count: 2.5 k
A/N: This fic is heavily inspired by this song. It is surprisingly wholesome, considering the tags xD
Armin Arlert. The purest man in the world. You accidentally met him one cold, rainy day when he entered your coffee shop for shelter and warmth. He naively talked to you, grateful for how nice you were with him, grateful for the cappuccino on the house, grateful for the towel you offered him to dry himself off. Little did Armin know, a fixation sprouted in your mind and heart, developing into the unhealthiest obsession. He was just so cute â and you just had to have him. It helped to know that you were both going to the same university, and after that, you knew everything about him: his Facebook, Instagram, email address, hell, you even knew his real address. To be fair, it was a piece of cake, the boy was absolutely clueless and whenever he 'accidentally' met you, he thought it was by pure chance. The next and most obvious step was to befriend people in his social circle, one Jean Kirstein, one Sasha Braus and one Connie Springer. Naturally, you did your homework, and you knew his best friends were Eren Jaeger and Mikasa Ackerman, but they weren't easy targets. Besides, it would jeopardise your entire plan, as you found Armin was considered a genius. An oblivious genius. He didn't know it yet, but you loved him and he loved you too, right?
A text from Sasha, months after you first met the angelic man, set your plan in motion. A casual gaming night at Armin's place, and you were invited. How perfect. Poor glutton Sasha had no fucking clue how much you were using her, how you told her you want to meet a cute guy, someone nice and caring, someone smart and attentive. The girl put two and two together and decided she just had to introduce you to one of her friends, especially that he was also interested in meeting a girl like you. Unbelievable â you acted surprised, met up with Sasha and left for Armin's little gaming night. You wouldn't let this opportunity go to waste. Starting from tonight, he'd be yours. Forever.
"Armiiiiiiiiin, I brought a plus one!" Sasha barged into his house. "This is my friend, Y/N. Y/N, Armin! Oh shit, pretzels!" The brown-haired woman left the two of you in the hallway and the blond flashed you a smile.
"I feel like I've seen you before." He mused as he closed the door behind you.
"If you ever drink coffee at Rose's you might've seen me there." You smiled and removed your leather jacket, revealing a Pearl Jam t-shirt.
"No way you listen to them!" Armin blurted.
"Are you kidding me? They're my favourite!" You lied through your teeth with a sickly-sweet smile.
"Mine too! Oh, I know, you're the girl who gave me a free cappuccino months ago!"
"I remember! You were drenched in rainwater." You laughed as the two of you entered the living room. "I had to mop up the puddles you left behind."
"I'm so sorry about that..." He blushed. Your heart fluttered and you couldn't wait to get your hands on him, but for the time being, you needed to behave.
"No worries, I just hope you didn't catch a cold." You assured Armin and sympathetically placed a hand on his shoulder. There he goes, blushing again. It couldn't be... was he a virgin? Fuck. This was better than you could've imagined.
"Who's this?"
"Oh, Mikasa, Eren, this is Y/N. She's friends with Sasha."
"Nice to meet you!" Eren shook your hand. "Oh, God, you listen to Pearl Jam, too? You nerds are going to get along just fine." He joked.
The night went great, and you actually had fun with Armin and his friends, despite not intending to mingle with them too much. People started leaving around 2 am, but Eren and Mikasa stayed longer. Too fucking long â and things were boring now anyway. You and Armin kept talking about video games and books, Mikasa fell asleep on Eren who was playing fucking Farmville on his phone. They had to leave as soon as possible.
"Hey, Y/N, we can take you home." Eren suggested and you froze. Shit.
"Didn't you say you're almost out of gas?" Armin questioned his friend.
"Ah, fuck, you're right. I still don't know how that happened â I fuelled the tank yesterday!" The brunette scoffed. "Guess you're on your own, Y/N."
"It's alright, I'll take an uber." You politely smiled.
"Alright, we'll wait for you."
Oh, for fuck's sake. Truth be told, you appreciated how nice and caring Armin's friends were, but you had a different goal to accomplish.
"You really don't have to, plus I have to use the bathroom." You excused yourself. "Um, where is the bathroom exactly?"
"Upstairs, first door on the right." Armin told you while gathering plates and cups from the table. You nodded and climbed up the stairs. Your hand hovered over the bathroom doorknob for a good minute, eyes drifting to the door next to it. Armin's bedroom, by the looks of it. Surely, you could take a look, right? Fuck it. You opened the second door and at first glance, nothing seemed out of the ordinary. LED and fairy lights encircled a corner of his room and, curiously, you walked closer to see what that was, because it didn't look like a desk. Your Y/E/C widened when you saw tens of framed photographs of yourself on the square table, objects you thought you lost and â Jesus, was that your bra? A rush of anxiety hit you, but before you could do anything, a blow to your head blurred your vision.
â˘Â°â°â˘ââ˘Â°â°â˘
Dark lashes fluttered as you opened your eyes. The sudden realisation that you were naked and restrained to a bed made you jolt. What just happened?
"Fucking finally, I thought you'd never wake up." Armin greeted you, but his voice was different, deeper and darker.
"Ar-ugh, Armin?" You groaned at the stinging sensation at the back of your head.
"You know, I was relieved you didn't leave with Sasha, otherwise you would've slipped between my fingers again."
Again?
"Ugh, and Eren and his stupid idea. 'We'll take you home.'" He mocked his best friend with a high pitch. "I've been dreaming for this moment since I walked into that shitty coffee shop."
You were at a loss for words. This was not the Armin you fantasised about, not the Armin you wanted. He was much more and much worse. And. So. Much. Better.
Alright then, you'd put up a show for him.
"P-please, Armin, please untie m-me! I'll be good, I p-promise!" You stuttered and whimpered, trying your best to sound genuine.
"Why, so you can run away?" The blond scoffed. So, he didn't know you stalked him. What a twist.
"I won't r-run, I swear!"
"Bullshit." Armin bent over your body, hands around your neck. You gasped and pretended to be startled by his touch, but in reality, your core was already burning with lust. You knew you couldn't keep up with this charade. "No, Y/N, I won't untie you. But we'll have so much fun." He sneered.
"You promise?"
"Yes. Waitâ"
Your laughter filled the bedroom, genuine laughter that baffled Armin. Was this some sort of reverse psychology trick?
"Oh, Armin, even when you reveal your true colours, you're still oblivious to the reality of what's in front of you."
"Then enlighten me, what am I so oblivious to?" He folded his arms across his chest and waited.
"The fact that this was my fucking plan, too." You stretched as much as your restraints allowed you to and licked your lips. "I guess we both stalked each other without even knowing. How ridiculous."
"I think I would've known if you stalked me, Y/N."
"Really? Let me prove it, then. Your favourite food's Carbonara pasta, your favourite drink is peach and lychee iced tea, favourite movie is Interstellar, you lived on Sheena street until you were 12â"
"That's common knowledge, Sasha could've told you any of that." Armin blurted, growing impatient.
"You watch BDSM and asphyxiation porn between 10 pm and 11 pm every Tuesday, you're a virgin, you own a fleshlightâ"
"Fuck, alright!" He threw his hands in the air, defeated. "So, what next?"
"You untie me and you tear me apart, Armin, that's what's next."
The blond hesitated before removing the cuffs on your ankles, still unsure about the ropes around your wrists. Clearly, you weren't making things up, but what were the chances of both of you stalking each other? For a brief moment, Armin felt guilty for hitting you and practically holding you captive, and you could see that on his face, but obsession and desire soon took over, and he reverted back to his darker self. His soft hands moved from your ankles to your knees, up your thighs and stomach, stopping above your chest, deciding it's best if you're not fully free. Armin licked his lips and climbed on top of you, unbuttoning his flannel shirt. You thought was surprisingly strong for such a thin man, but when the unbuttoned shirt revealed his chiselled abdomen, it made sense why he was strong.
"The wrists, Armin." You insisted but the blond clicked his tongue.
"I like you better when you're helpless." He pressed his lips onto yours in a hot kiss. A great kiss, you thought, your tongues wrestling for supremacy.
"Please, I want to touch you! I need to..." You trailed off, intoxicated by his smell, notes of saffron and cardamom. His hands roamed your shoulders, tickling your axilla and groping your breasts. "Please let me touch you, Armin!" You begged again, but he didn't say a word, his hot breath fanning over your oversensitive nipples, goosebumps all over your skin. His pink tongue poked out of his mouth and you watched him painstakingly slowly lick one of your nipples. It literally pained you to be unable to touch him, pull him closer to you. Alas, you had no choice, and despite yearning to be in control, it aroused you to have him control you.
"You smell so sweet." He abruptly stopped. "I bet you taste sweet, too."
"Armin..." His words made you brace yourself. While you weren't a virgin, you've never had anyone eat you out. The blond was already in between your legs, one hand resting under your thigh, the other gently touching your slick folds. Armin was so careful, like you were made of glass, and the ticklish sensation didn't help you at all. You wanted him to ram his cock inside of you and rearrange your guts, but he wanted to take his sweet time. The teasing only made you dizzy with pleasure, and you bucked your hips, trying to get him to move faster.
"You really need to learn to be patient, Y/N." Armin purred, pressing gentle kisses on your thighs. He lazily dragged his tongue across your slit, electricity shooting through your body. God, how you wanted to rip those ropes apart. Two fingers entered you and the blond gingerly licked your clit. Â
"Fuckâ so... so good ahâ" You couldn't form a sentence even if your life counted on it. Gradually, you could feel your orgasm building up and Armin sensed it, picking up the pace. His fingers thrusted harder and you arched your back, the intensity too much for you. "Armin, please! I wanna come with your cock in me!" The begging didn't stop him, he was determined to make you finish then and there. And he did â within seconds you melted under his touch, legs trembling with pleasure. Armin pulled back, his mouth messy with saliva mixed with your juices.
"You come when I want you to come." His voice was low, almost like a growl. He unbuttoned his jeans, and you watched him like a hawk, waiting to see just how big his was, and you were not disappointed.
"Please please please let me suck it, please!" You begged him, eager to taste him. He smirked and kissed you, all the while rubbing his cock.
"You want this?" Armin quirked a brow at you. The little shit, jacking off in front of you and you couldn't even do anything about it.
"Armin..."
"Say it. Say you want it."
"Armin!"
"Say it, Y/N." He groaned, precum leaking from his member. Fuck.
"I... I want it..." You eventually gave up.
"Good girl." The blond climbed back on top of you. He raised your hips and you placed your legs on his shoulder, his first thrust slow and deep. Armin couldn't help the moan escaping his lips â this was so much better than that shitty fleshlight and countless porn videos. You couldn't deny the fact that it hurt, despite your soaking cunt, but you quickly adjusted to his size. As Armin pounded you, the bed underneath the two of you started moving and screeching, and the ropes tied to the metal bedframe loosened and you felt your arms fall onto the pillows. In his frenzy, the blond didn't notice, so you took this opportunity to lower your legs and wrap them around his waist, one hand grabbing his soft locks, the other wrapping around his neck. You used his weight against him and turned him over. You were in control.
Armin was taken aback by this, but the feeling of your fingers squeezing his throat only turned him on more. You bounced up and down, throwing your head back and groaning. He gripped your hips tightly, thrusting his own hips against yours.
"F-fuck me harder, Y/N!" He begged and you sped up. You felt like a queen â no, a goddess â when he asked you to fuck him, the feeling of him inside of you so addictive. He was your drug, and your rehab, your poison, and your antidote. And you were his and his only. His cock was twitching in your cunt and knew he was close but you didn't want to risk it. Swiftly, you got off of him and wrapped your lips around his dick, bobbing your head up and down. It didn't take long for him to finish, hot liquid shooting down your throat with one final grunt. You swallowed it all and threw yourself next to him. It was breaking dawn already, but you weren't tired. Physically, yes, both of you were exhausted, but mentally it felt like you discovered a hidden gem.
"What the fuck did we just do?" Armin calmly caressed your hair as you nuzzled his neck.
"Are we talking about the obsessively stalking each other part or the part where you hit me in the head? Or the fucking?"
"The everything." He explained. "This is wrong."
"Did it feel wrong?" You asked him, your fingers idly tracing circles over his chest.
"Well, no..."
"Then it's not wrong." You shrugged. "Am... am I yours?"
"Yes." The blond instantly replied without a trace of hesitation in his voice. "Am I?"
"You've been mine the moment you set foot in that shitty coffee shop." You laughed.
"And what are we going to tell the others?"
"That we ended up talking all night and I stayed over?"
"Sounds like a plan." Armin kissed your forehead.
"By the way, I really don't like Pearl Jam." You admitted.
He laughed and it filled your heart with warmth. You have no idea why you and Armin were like that, or how things would be from now on, but you had a good feeling about it. Things were okay. You two were okay.

Kiss Me Under the Mistletoe
This is my secret Santa story for @storiesofthefandomloversâ for the Pedroâs 12 days of Christmas! I hope you love it as much as I loved writing it!
MERRY CHRISTMAS Charlie!!
A/N: Thank you to my darling @yespolkadotkittyâ & @justanotherblonde23â for beta reading! You guys are the best!!
Pairing: Javier Pena x F! Reader
Warning: 18 + ONLY (Oral M & F receiving, light cum play, p in v sex, language)
Word Count: 3.2 K
My Masterlist
Javier was exhausted. The sweat from the never relenting heat stuck to him like a second skin; he smelled like leather and cigarette smoke. He flicked the butt out the window and rolled it up before turning off the jeep. He sighed; looking at the blinking red numbers on the clock it was well past midnight, and he had missed Christmas Eve.
Although it was late, the city was alive. Candles adorned in red and white flickered against the windows and the church he drove past swelled with the music and life of people attending midnight mass.
He opened the door and gazed up at his apartment. The same flickering candles adorned his own window and he let out a soft smile, thinking of you. How the hell he got so lucky he would never understand. You had met one afternoon at the markets, Javier had been chasing a sicario through the bustling streets and literally crashed head first into you, letting out a frantic apology and taking off again. You had never expected to see him after that, but the next weekend he was there almost waiting, watching for something.
Or as you came to learn someone, you.
He had apologized and asked you out for drinks, which then led to dinner and the most mind-blowing sex of your life. It should have just been a one night stand but you both became addicts like those of the drug he spent his life hunting, in thrall; searching for your next fix.
Javier was not a man that believed he deserved love. One night after another passionate affair, you both lay breathless, and as the curl of smoke from his cigarette lingered in the air, he told you about his job.
The men he hunted, the death and destruction he had seen and even been subjected too. âTo catch bad people, you have to do bad things,â he had once said, his arms wrapped around your waist, his face buried in your hair. He quietly inhaled the sweet scent of citrus and flowers that clung to you and left his pillow with the faint scent of your locks. You understood right then that he loved you. That giving up that part of himself he kept so buried and hidden in his heart was his way of showing you that heâd relinquished his heart to you.
Six months into your endeavor and your work was shot up by sicarios going after your boss for making a bad deal with the Narcos. Javier had busted down the door wearing that bulletproof vest and shooting anyone in his path to get to you. He was a man possessed. When his hand intertwined in your own he used his own body to shield you to safety. Not giving a shit about the world watching, he devoured your lips against the side of the van, his hands tangling in your hair and pulling you impossibly closer. âTe amo,â he whispered against your lips.
Murphyâs gentle touch on his shoulder shattered the glass and he pressed his forehead into your own, eyes closed breath hollow. âI love you,â you whispered against his lips and he pulled you tighter to his chest. Almost tight enough to be painful but you wouldnât have pulled away for the world. How a man who chased down Narcos, carried a gun, could make you feel so safe was a question for another day.
That night he took you home to his place where he reminded you what he struggled so much to say. That he loved you.
His tongue and lips clamped down onto your aching clit as his fingers worked you through your third orgasm. The pleasure was blinding as he sucked and fucked you with his tongue. And when he slid his cock inside you, tears landed gracelessly on your face as he thrust slowly and achingly into you. You reach up and place your hands on his face, neither of you needing to speak; Â only needing the gentle touch of the other to ground you. And when he came inside you, groaning as his eyes stayed locked on your own, clenching around him, you knew that this was it. No one in the world would ever compare to Javier PeĂąa.
After that night you didnât return home to your apartment, except to pack and give your notice. Javi, Steve, and Connie helped you move your things into his apartment and nothing was ever said again.
Javier stared at the flickering candlelight and sighed - Â he should have been home hours ago, but paperwork and the never ending bureaucratic bullshit of the embassy had kept him late. Even Steve had gone home early, although he had a child so he had more of a reason - but still. Christmas was the time to be with family and even though it was small, you were his family.
Javier crossed the street and climbed the stairs two at a time, reaching the door in record time. He unlocked the door and quietly stepped inside. Putting his keys in the blue and white ceramic bowl you bought at the market a couple of weeks ago and taking off his shoes next to the small pile. The light flickered from the TV in the living room, sounds of an over the top telenovela wafting through the space. Over the top of the couch sat a red and white novelty Santa hat and Javier smiled until the hat moved. He approached cautiously coming around the couch; breath catching and cock hardening at the site.
You were sprawled out on the couch Santa hat laying precariously on your head. One of his white button-up shirts unbuttoned and underneath peek-a-booed a red lingerie set lined with white fur trim. The crotch missing from the panties, your cunt on full display for him, and glistening in the flickering light from the candles. All clipped carefully into the white garter belt and stockings ending with the sharp black heels with a large gold buckle. The gift you had teased him on the phone with hours ago laid out before him. Waiting to be unwrapped.
He slowly peeled off his leather jacket and unbuttoned his shirt, letting it fall onto the couch, pulling off his socks and tossing them. Javi uncrossed your ankles and gently placed your feet a bit wider giving him room to drop to his knees before you. He licked his lips as he watched your chest rise and fall with each breath. He scooted closer and placed a warm hand on your inner thigh, kissing the skin over the stockings gently. Taking the time to worship your thighs and legs that he adored before moving closer to your heat. Taking one finger he gently ran it through your folds, collecting your slick and putting it in his mouth, sucking it off the moisture, and groaning in delight at the sweetness.
Never taking his eyes off you, he nudged his sharp nose against your clit as he tasted you with his tongue. Flat wide strokes before circling your nub with the tip of his tongue and back again.
*******
You groan in your sleep and move to turn when he grabs hold of your thigh keeping you spread before him. Your eyes snap open and make contact with his own as his lips suck your clit into his mouth while he works one finger into you. Inch by inch until you are quivering beneath him, he adds a second finger and curls them hitting that spongy part inside you that causes you to see stars.
âJavi?â you question as his tongue works you again with wide broad strokes soaking up all your sweetness. His fingers sound obscene with how wet you are as he pumps them into your aching pussy.
He pulls away and grins, âYes, honey? This is my present, no? Itâs Christmas morning after all,â he teases before plundering your cunt with his tongue bringing you closer and closer to the edge. Your eyes roll back into your head when he groans and the vibrations send a shockwave through your body. Your orgasm crashes over you in waves, and Javi works you through it adding a third finger and curling them into you as you pulse and clench around him.
âJavier!â you scream and dig your fingers tugging hard on his short locks. He pulls away and you watch as he sucks all of your juices off his fingers, pulling each one out with a pop.
âMerry Christmas baby,â he grins at you before moving up your body and kissing you gently, tasting the sharp tang of yourself on his tongue. His hands continue running up and down your thighs over the stockings. âWhy donât we move into our bedroom and I can unwrap the rest of my gift?â You can only nod as he takes  your ankles in his hand and flips the clasp on the left heel pulling it off and carelessly throwing it to the floor. He repeats with the other shoe and then he is pulling you up from the couch and tossing you over his shoulder. You squeal in delight and hang on to him, and he chuckles before tossing you onto the bed, your breasts bouncing in the tight fabric. His hands move to unclasp the garter from the stockings and you grab his hand and push it away. Sitting up, you remove his shirt and throw it, taking his jeans in your hands and unbuttoning them, and dragging down the zipper. Your finger runs along his cock as it springs free from the confines of his jeans. Dropping to your knees and looking up at him through your lashes he smiles down at you. âI want to taste you, Javi, is that ok?â
âShit...cariĂąo that is more than oka-â his voice cracks on the last syllable as you take just the tip past your lips, running your tongue in small circles. You reach for his hands and place them gently on your head and he groans, his head dropping back as he pushes you further down onto his cock. He takes his time and inches himself deeper and deeper into your mouth as his breathing gets heavier. One of your hands comes up to massage his balls and the other grabs his ass tightly as he pants. You hollow your cheeks, tongue running up and down as he hits the back of your throat. Breathing deeply through your nose, you gag a little, tears beginning to pool in the corner of your eyes as he fucks your mouth.
âFuck, I love your mouth...shit.. Iâm close.â
You pull him deeper into your mouth and he whimpers as you press and swirl your tongue around the tip, using your hand to pump him in time with your mouth. His grip on your hair tightens and he pulls you all the way forward, choking you on his cock. His hot, salty cum coats your tongue as he climaxes with a groan.
You swallow every last drop and open your mouth to show him, âSuch a good girl,â he praises and lifts you to your feet. He kisses you deeply and you sigh as his hands roam over your skin, warm to the touch. âSit down on the bed,â he instructs and you do so, ânow letâs unwrap the rest of my gift  shall weâŚâ
He moves to his knees and spreads your legs to lay  between them. Hands coming around to unclasp your bra and pull it away. He places gentle kisses on your hard nubs, his mustache scratching lightly against your flesh. âFuck... this is the greatest gift Iâve ever received cariĂąo.â Taking one nipple in his mouth he bites down gently and pulls out; you gasp at the feeling.
âJavi...please,â you beg, hands running through his hair as he takes his sweet time worshipping your breasts. His other hand kneading the other as he keeps his full attention on your nipples. The way he bites you will for sure have marks in the morning, but Javi loves marking you, claiming you as his own. Especially the visual ones, your neck is  usually covered in love bites, letting all the men at work know who you belonged to.
He switches his attention to the other breast and you drop your head back feeling a familiar rush of slick between your thighs. Javi chuckles against your nub and rubs his face between your breasts, his mustache scratching at the skin before he places a kiss between them. âLook at me, CariĂąo.â The words like honey on his tongue and you are aching for it.
Slowly, you bring your head back up and watch as he never breaks eye contact, snapping the locks from the garter. He sits back on his ankles and puts your foot against his chest, exposing your dripping pussy for him. He starts from the top and slowly rolls down the white stocking his lips trailing behind pressing wet kisses to your skin as he slides them off and tosses them behind him. He moves to the other leg and repeats the process, taking his time to lightly nip and run his tongue over your flesh.
He digs his fingers into the silky material of the garters and pulls them and your panties off leaving you completely bare before him and at his mercy. âFuck,â he murmurs staring, âYouâre perfect, cariĂąo.â Â
Taking your hands, he intertwines your fingers and pulls you down to kiss him. Running his tongue over your bottom lip, asking for entrance. His tongue snakes his way inside your mouth and he licks. Youâre drunk off the taste of coffee and cigarettes; itâs distinctly Javi.
âCome with me,â he whispers against your lips and pulls you to stand before him. Taking your hand he leads you to the shower and turns on the water. âI need to shower, and I would really love for you to join me.â You nod and he pulls you in for another deep kiss. He tugs  you under the hot spray of the water, his mouth open as he sucks on your neck, pulling you into his chest. His cock is hard and pushing into your ass. He reaches around you and grabs the body wash squeezing a glob into his hands and working it before he rubs it all over you. Although he is cleaning you, you feel even fucking dirtier as his hands rub between your thighs. You turn in his arms and connect your mouths, biting down on his lower lip as he groans. You take the soap from his hands and run it over his broad shoulders, chest, and lower, taking him in your hands.
His forehead drops to your shoulder and he groans as you pump him a few times. âTurn around,â he groans and pushes your chest into the wall. You shiver at the change in temperature. He gently nudges  your legs apart and you feel him; thick and hot against your leg. âI want to fuck you, cariĂąo,â his voice deep and husky.
âThen do it, mi amorâ you whisper, and he wastes no time sliding inside of you, inch by glorious inch. Your forehead lays against the tile, and your hands spread out. His fingers leave imprints on your hips as he pushes all the way in and seats you on his cock.
âFuck,â he pants, âalways so tight for me.â He starts slow dragging almost all the way out before slamming back in, slowly driving you insane as he hits that delicious spot inside of you.
âMore, Javi, please,â you beg and he speeds up his thrust. The slap of skin on skin is almost  drowned out by the water still pouring over you. Heâs sure to leave bruises as he sets a punishing pace, slamming into you. One hand comes out and he starts rubbing circles on your clit, your hands tightening into fists and biting down hard on your lip to suppress your screams.
âLet go, cariĂąo. Â I want to hear you,â you clench tighter around him and he moans cursing and rubbing you in time with each thrust until you are pushing his hand away and screaming against the tile. âThatâs it baby, cum on my cock,â he praises in that deep, bedroom voice breaks you and you flood his cock, tightening around him as he cums inside you; his thrusts finally slowing until heâs pulling you back flush against him, cock still nestled inside.
The water turns to ice and you shout as he runs to quickly turn it off, both of you laughing against the wall. He slides out of you and watches as his cum drips out onto the floor, dipping his finger and pushing it back inside. âCome on baby, letâs go to bed,â he grabs two fluffy towels and wraps one around you and the other around his waist, leading you both back to the bed. You dry off as best you can before dropping it and getting back under the covers, pulling Javier closer.
He nuzzles into your neck and inhales deeply before sighing, âI will never get enough of you,â he places a kiss below your ear and envelopes you. âTomorrow...well today I am going to give you some real Christmas magic, cariĂąo.â
âOh yeah? What are your plans for me Agent PeĂąa?â you tease.
âIâm going to kiss you under the mistletoe like all those corny Christmas movies you watch, just wait, cariĂąo, this will be a Christmas you wonât soon forget.â
âI love you, Javier,â you whisper into the dark and he returns the sentiment with his arms wrapped tight around you.
The next morning you wake up the same way you did the night before, with Javierâs tongue buried inside your pussy. âOh my God, Javi!â you scream as his tongue wraps tightly around your clit, two fingers pumping you through your orgasm. You feel yourself shattering around him and gushing on his fingers, his tongue eagerly licking up your juices.
You moan and push at his head, fingers digging into the soft curls of his hair, tugging him off. He smiles at you from between your thighs, his mustache glistening in the low light of the bedroom.
Kissing his way up your chest and nipping at one of your nipples, he reaches for his cigarettes on the nightstand, lighting up and taking a long drag. âYou know when you told me you wanted to kiss me under the mistletoe, I thought you might mean in a doorway and my lips,â you tease.
âWell, technically, it was still your lips, just on your pussy not your mouth, and we still did it under the mistletoe.â You laugh as he points up and you see the mistletoe hanging from the ceiling above your bed.
He grins at you and takes another pull, the smoke curling up. âThen ⌠do I also get to kiss you under the mistletoe, Javier?â you reach for his jeans and unbuckling them.
He puts out the cigarette and pushes his jeans off the rest of the way, grinning âWell, tis the season.â

tanoraqui
Still thinking about an au in which for some reason WWX and the Wens are left to just live peacefully on the creepy death mountain - some detente wherein they donât leave the mountain ever and in exchange no one tries to visit ever. Borders patrolled by corpses and sect disciples. So A-Yuan grows up raised kind of collectively but mostly by WWX and Wen Qing (the one most likely to tell WWX that heâs doing it wrong), and learns healing-focused spiritual cultivation AND demonic cultivation, and then at some point starts sneaking out to be the terrifying force of righteous kindness he was always going to be
tanoraqui
Righteous kindness but also, like, having picked up WWXâs cavalier confidence (or at least some of the ability to fake it) and Wen Qingâs general attitude of Do No Harm But Take No Shit
Like IMAGINE
tanoraqui
In this au, despite the strict border-by-mutual-agreement thatâs the only reason somehow no ones tried to attack, LWJ sneaks in like one a year so he and WWX can make eyes at one another but not actually say anything ever, and Wen Qing and LXC are both EXHAUSTED bc both their dumb little brothers (WWX is a sibling by adoption now donât @ me) mope for like a week after EVERY SINGLE TIME THIS HAPPENS, and itâs been /over ten years/.
tanoraqui
Meanwhile Jiang YanLi and JZX are FINE, and JYL somehow keeps up some sort of correspondence with WWX - or at least, heâs faithfully managed to send a birthday present for Jin Ling every single year, and every time, JYL makes her son write a thank-you note and bribes some series of people to get it smuggled back to Yiling
tanoraqui
...which means, honestly, that Jin Ling is probably wildly curious about his uncle the evil demonic cultivator kept trapped within the terrible ghost mountain by the forces of Good and Right, and WILL sneak out one day to try to visit. Optimally, obviously, at the same time Wen Yuan is sneaking out to see the non-mountain world
tanoraqui
The optimal plot is that Wen Yuan ropes Jin Ling into helping him set up WWX and LWJ, because he, too, is exasperated at this point, and Jin Ling ropes Wen Yuan into arranging like a parent trap reunion for the Jiang siblings, and obviously there are monsters and undead to complicate it all
tanoraqui
They kind of acquire Lan Jingyi somewhere, somehow. Heâs having a blast
There is a 100% chance that the first Adult(TM) to find them is Wen Ning and they just kind of rope him into whatever the hell is going on at the time
...you know what, I think this is just a good au where JGY fucking died at some point
tanoraqui
Maybe someone threw him down the stairs again and he just broke his fucking neck. WWX is still vilified but between Jiang Cheng not really wanting to attack and Jiang (Jin?) Yanli being AGGRESSIVELY against it, and dragging JZX along with her, theyâre left in peace.
tanoraqui
Oh man and Jin Ling has YOUNGER SIBLINGS in this...
Hey for u: Jiang Cheng/Wen Qing can accidentally happen while the Teens are trying to get everyone else to meet
Today at 8:42 AM
@professorsparklepants
I love this it's so goddamn wacky
tanoraqui
I just want teenager-based shenanigans ft. surprisingly competent teenagers and all the adults running around like chickens with their heads chopped off
professorsparklepants
Jingyi: why are you two more calm about this than the literal adults
Wen Yuan: have you met my dad?
tanoraqui
Also to be clear it is not at all hard to convince Wen Ning to join Team: Teenage Shenanigans, bc literally ANYONE in the Burial Mountain village would probably be down if you were like, âweâre engaged in a conspiracy to make Wei Wuxian fucking admit that heâs in love with that Lan guy who visits a couple times a yearâ
professorsparklepants
"This is my father, and this is his sugar daddy."
tanoraqui
I kinda wanna say he goes by âWen Yuanâ more often bc heâs 100% the baby of the entire remaining Wen clan there, but his adult name or w/e itâs called IS Wen Sizhui, because WWX asked LWJ if he had any suggestions and LWJ said this while maintaining eye contact
professorsparklepants
OH MY GOOOOOOD
tanoraqui
They meet LXC and he figures out whatâs going on in like 4 minutes, despite the teensâ best attempts at obfuscation, and instead of calling anyoneâs parents is like, âokay, Iâm inâ
professorsparklepants
#1 wingman...
tanoraqui
Jin Ling and Wen Yuan are definitely both traveling under false names, too? Wen Yuan obviously canât admit to being a Wen and Jin Ling is making a privileged but slightly helicoptered teenâs rebellious bid for freedom
professorsparklepants
His dad is panicking at home and Yanli is like "boys need their freedom :)"
I saw a post forever ago about how Yanli would be the most hands off parent & Zixuan is an only child who would panic every time his kid fell down
tanoraqui
With a side order of âmy mother is the only one whoâll say nice things about the Yiling Patriarch and she always looks sad when she does so Iâm going to sneak into the Burial Mountain and either drag him out to see her or force my parents to come get meâ
professorsparklepants
"I'm gonna beat up the Yiling Patriarch" "why" "he made my mom sad" "okay proceed"
tanoraqui
^ actual real conversation with WenYuan
professorsparklepants
A-Yuan then repeats the same thing to Wen Qing and she has the exact same answer, verbatim
tanoraqui
Side note: Wen Yuan has never been scared of the undead in his entire life, and probably this will lead to getting into severely life-threatening situations when he doesnât have more backup than 2 other teenagers
professorsparklepants
Oh absolutely
professorsparklepants
He's so used to tuning out the sound of sentry corpses that one jumps on him and almost punches his lungs out
tanoraqui
Also what if he took WWXâs sword, so he looks like a proper normal cultivator - honestly, what if WWX gave him the sword when he turned 12, or whenever one customarily gives a child a sword in this world. He also has a flute stashed in his robe somewhere but he does know how to use both
tanoraqui
But also, while obviously itâs very important that this is the sword he inherited from his father, itâs never OCCURRED to him to, like, strongly associate it with WWX, in terms of âthis would be a recognizable weaponâ? Chenqing the flute, obviously, but WWX just left the sword on a shelf all the time
professorsparklepants
He's very good at fooling people into thinking he's a normal rogue cultivator until he busts out the flute
LOL YES
tanoraqui
So the first time someone looks at him and is like, âThat is WWXâs swordâ he achieves, like, âWhoâs Morales? [NOT THAT DUMB]â levels of blank-brained
professorsparklepants
It like, doesn't even occur to him that this stick named whatever will be recognizable to people until it actually happens
"this is the Yiling Patriarch's sword!" "... I've never heard of him"
tanoraqui
âWhat sword?â
professorsparklepants
KDJAKSNJS
tanoraqui
âOh, THIS sword? I...found it. In a stream.â
tanoraqui
Also...at some point...once the teens have admitted their identities to one another...and possibly gotten into a couple other increasingly public shenanigans...they run into a bunch of concerned people searching from the Jin or even Jiang sect - JC being there would be PERFECT - and Jin Ling is like, âaaahh, no, I donât want to be dragged home... kidnap me.â
WY: what?
JL: pull out the flute, summon a couple corpses, shout that youâre the dread son of the Yiling Patriarch, and pretend to kidnap me
WY: ...yeah okay
AND THEN THEY DO THAT
professorsparklepants
The dumbass energy...... off the CHARTS
tanoraqui
Theyâre 15 and neither of them has ever faced consequences but in...actually not too different ways
Theyâre 15 and neither of them as ever faced consequences nor most of the real world
Oh my god is Lan Jingyi the most sensible person here
Theyâre going to DIE
professorsparklepants
JXHAKAJAKKQHSJA
JC and Yanli immediately see through this probably
"dumbass kid just doesn't want to go home. I'll break his legs."
tanoraqui
I think Yanli does but I have minimal faith in JCâs ability to think logically at any time
Heâs still angry at WWX for leaving
professorsparklepants
Stomps to Yiling to demand his nephew back & wwx's like "lol, A-Yuan left two months ago"
Okay my shift is starting later
tanoraqui
/snort
Though, bold of you to assume that WWX isnât also running around anxiously somewhere like âoh god, oh no, my son is missing; I must find himâ
professorsparklepants
Sizhui is a responsible boy, I don't think he would leave without telling at least ONE person where he was going
tanoraqui
Ok but it was Wen Qing who thinks itâs good for WWXâs health to stop brooding and go run around like a headless chicken instead, optimally if he runs into his totally-not-a-boyfriend-Hahahaha-why-would-you-say-that
Alternately it was, like, Granny, which, ditto
No one on this mountain is going to stop WWX from going out to cause trouble and hopefully get laid, is my point
tanoraqui
Also, the cultivation world has been basically at peace for 13 years and the reason is that this is an ideal AU where JGY is dead and whenever trouble starts to stir politically, NHS and JYL meet eyes across the room and mentally Rock Paper Scissors over who has to manipulate everyone into calming the fuck down
Neither of them actually wants this job; theyâre just good at it and recognize both those aspects in each other
professorsparklepants
LOLOLOL
That is.... so goddamn in character
tanoraqui
concept: JYL and NHS are friends and no one else understands it, or attributes it to JYL just being that nice, bc NHS still generally acts useless
professorsparklepants
Nhs actively wants to be useless and life is conspiring to make sure he can't
tanoraqui
a little less dramatically useless, but why ruin a good thing when you're having fun and it's useful
professorsparklepants
Lol
tanoraqui
but JYL fucking identified him as Actually Competent one time when he couldn't hide it, so now sometimes they get tea together and bitch about politics and stupid people
professorsparklepants
He's the only person who can correctly identify when she's talking shit about people, because it's VERY subtle and her brothers & husband are too busy thinking she hung the moon to notice
tanoraqui
JYL striding into Nie sect HQ (whatever it's called) and tossing her coat over a chair. "You would not BELIEVE what my brothers are doing now."
NHS: *probably knows, because he's found that the minor investment of effort in maintaining a very good spy network pays major dividends in helping him avoid greater work* *immediately sits up and pours her a cup of very expensive tea* Oh, girl, dish.
professorsparklepants
Question: are they also friends with lwj...
tanoraqui
yes but he's obviously not invited to hte political gossip sessions
professorsparklepants
I'm trying to imagine lwj making eye contact with them at some meeting his brother dragged him to and both of them struggling not to break into hysterics
tanoraqui
but they both know that he sneaks into Yiling to visit WWX a few times a year, and every single time, JYL sits him down within a couple weeks and aggressively debriefs him as to her brother's condition
professorsparklepants
I'm sure she tried to get him to take treats in
tanoraqui
for sure
it's hopeless, though, bc there's no really predicting WHEN he'll go? It's basically just "every 4-6 months when LWJ's resolve breaks"
professorsparklepants
Too bad she's not a stress quilter instead of a stress baker
tanoraqui
she gets him to go at an actual arranged time, bearing pork soup, like once, for WWX's 30th birthday or something
professorsparklepants
:)
tanoraqui
omg lit brain: LWJ of course is hte WORST for getting gossip, but JYL has pieced together a reasonable amount about the people her idiot baby brother (#2) is now living with. And she's mildly despairing as to idiot baby brother #1's ongoing refusal to get married and have an heir or three. So she, if not actively connives, then certainly siezes the first available opportunity to set Jiang Cheng up with Wen Qing
tanoraqui
basically, this au is PEAK romcom
tanoraqui
...also, for max happiness, i'd like to think that WWX made some strategic raids to rescue additional Wen refugees and bring them back, so there's a properly populated village and they didn't all just die
professorsparklepants
!!!
Good... Good thoughts
Good because 1. more people die and 2. The Yiling Patriarch will attack your village and steal your people away!
tanoraqui
(romcom being exclusively adults-focussed; the teens initiate it all but Jin Ling and Wen Yuan are both so delighted to have an Additional (But Cooler) Family Member that they comfortably cousinzone each other instantly)
professorsparklepants
*nice*
tanoraqui
...i feel like i keep characterizing Jin Ling as an only child, when really he ought to have a small horde of siblings
maybe they just...couldn't conceive more. shit happens. pregnancy is hard.
professorsparklepants
That happens sometimes

**MASTERLIST**Â Â **BECOME A PATREON**
Dean had always been the aggressive sort. He didnât take shit from very many people, and if you were one of those who he did take it from, you counted yourself as lucky. Heâd even gone off on Sam more than once, and Sam could get away with more than most.Â
It was one of the side effects of dealing with the life that you all were thrust into when you were just children. Your father had been hunting partners with John for years, off and on, when you were children, so you had known the Winchesters for a very long time, long enough to know you did NOT push your luck with the eldest Winchester.
Even though Dean was always hard in a sense, there was a time when he wasnât as hard as he is today. Back then, the hardest thing he had to do in his life was impress John Winchester, and that had been more challenging than any monster heâd ever faced.Â
Life was as simple then. A vamps nest, the occasional Djinn. You killed the monsters, you saved a few lives. That time was long gone for the both of you. John's death had opened up a whole new world of monsters, demons and dick angels. Things that you werenât prepared for, and neither was Dean. Dean spent what was only four months to you, but was forty years to him in Hell. Literal Hell. Sam jumped in the cage with Lucifer. Life became a downward spiral that just went on and on, until you found yourselves here today.Â
God had it in for you.The son of Lucifer was dressed as the Devil, courtesy of Deanâs twisted amusement, in the backseat of the Impala heâd deemed âBabyâ years ago. You were on your way to a Halloween party that was expected to go south thanks to one of those rare simple vamps nest your unconventional group had been investigating.
âDean, I donât know about this,â Jack said, looking at his own reflection in the rearview mirror where he caught the look of Dean's amused gaze. The red paint on the boys face was a little much in your opinion, but hey, you werenât in charge of this shitshow, so you decided to keep your trap fucking shut. Â
âItâs simple Jack,â Dean said. You could almost hear the smirk in his voice, and you were determined to look dead ahead of you, and not in the backseat where you would probably die laughing. âYou go to the party, just stand back, watch, find a chick maybe. I donât give a fuck, but just make sure that no vamp gets inside that fucking house until Y/N and I can take care of the mother fuckers. If one does show itself, lure it out to us, and we will take care of it.â
Dean made it sound so simple, and you could only imagine how nervous Jack was. He didnât have the conventional upbringing of most people as it was. Technically, he wasnât even 12 yet, he was just advanced because of his race, and somethings just didnât come quite so naturally to Jack as Dean had thought that it should. That, or Dean just didnât give a shit, because he was never really going to forgive him for Maryâs death. He just wasnât.
âYou will be fine Jack. Just keep a low profile, and watch out for vamps. Dean and I can take care of the rest,â you told him in what you hoped was an encouraging tone. âThis will be a piece of cake, and we will be back at the hotel before you know it.âÂ
Jack fell quiet as he looked at the landscape flying past the backseat window, and your eyes trailed Dean's still amused face as he drove down the farm road to the old ranch house the teenagers were attending for tonight's festivities.Â
Dean loved Halloween. It was one of the only holidays that he really did enjoy. Sam, on the other hand? Well, Sam hated it, and when Dean found this case, Sam decided to stay behind with Eileen while you, Dean, Jack took care of this small little case that was only three states over.
Dean had tried to convince you to dress up for the occasion, but quickly changed his mind when you told him that there was not a chance in hell you could hide a machete in the slutty nurse costume heâd picked out for you. Thatâs how the plan to dress Jack up , and place him in the party watching the party goers was born.Â
You and Dean had a history. That history had started when heâd taken your virginity when you were only 18 years old. Every time you got a chance after that, you found yourselves between the sheets, in the back seat, and against the walls of bars in dark alleyways. Dean had a âhealthy appetiteâ, and even in his forties he still carried the stamina of a horny teenage boy. You werenât complaining either.Â
Somewhere around thirty, heâd discovered his Dom fetish, and that literally fucking ruined all other men for you. You should have known Deanâs âtake no shitâ attitude would have translated over into the bedroom eventually. It was the one place he could have complete control, and the one place he could let off steam with someone he trusted. That someone was you.Â
Since tonight was his favorite holiday, you had decided when this small little hunt was over, Dean would get to see you in that slutty nurse costume heâd wanted you to wear so bad. After all, daddy always gets what he wants, and thatâs why you had jumped up and suggested the kid get his own room.Â
You watched the sky turn dark as Dean speed towards the party and the hunt, your mind on just what Dean was going to say when he discovered you had kept the costume.Â
Three hours later, you found yourself standing in the hotel room that you and Dean would be sharing for the night, staring down at the nurseâs outfit on the bed before quickly sliding the towel that was covering your body to the floor, and picking up the costume. You only had a few minutes before Dean would be done with his shower, and heâd already ordered you to be in position when he returned to the room. He just didnât know about the costume.Â
Dean was usually in a good mood after a good hunt, and this hunt was the first easy thing theyâd done in a long time, so therefore Dean was in a very good mood.Â
You had just slipped the last strap over your shoulder, and got into the kneeling position on the bed that he required you to be in when waiting for him, when you heard the shower cut off, and the door to the bathroom open.Â
The room was dark. The only light that came into the room was coming from the bathroom and it flooded the small room as Dean rounded the corner to see his prize. Judging from the predatory growling sound he made when he saw you waiting for him, he was very pleased, but you knew better than to look up from your submissive stance and make eye contact without permission. Dean wasnât going to take your shit, and you wanted to cum tonight. Slick already gathered itself between your spread thighs in anticipation of what was to come, and Dean hadnât even laid a hand on you yet.Â
Deanâs eyes shamelessly raked over you as he made his way towards the bed.You could feel his piercing gaze, even though you couldnât see it, and you waited with bated breath for Deanâs approval, which came in the form of the Deanâs rough thumb reaching out, and running across your red painted lips. You reached your tongue out and swept over the tip of his thumb, twirling it around this thick digit as if it were his cock before sucking it into your mouth, and letting it go with a pop.Â
Dean groaned at the sensation as he watched your lips around his thumb, and his dick twitched in interest as his eyes roamed the barely there costume that you were wearing for him.Â
âSuch a good little slut, waiting for Daddy, all dressed up so pretty,â Dean said, his rough voice causing a shiver to visibly roll through your body, and land in your already aching cunt.Â
Dean chuckled at the reaction and he brushed his fingers through your hair, tucking it behind your ear to get a better view of your face. It was a move that was almost too intimate for what was to come, but it was his way of asking you if you trusted him and you did.You trusted Dean with your life.Â
When he noticed you lean into his touch, it was the only permission he seemed to need. That and the high adrenaline made him more impatient than what he would have normally been . His large hand fisted your hair almost painfully as he jerked your eyes up to meet his darkened gaze. His bare chest and body was on display for you, as his hard length twitched on its own from itâs proud position. A bead of precum was already forming at the tip, and you licked your lips as you watched it bob there. He needed this. He needed this just as much as you did tonight, and damn, you wanted to taste him so bad.Â
His eyes followed your gaze, and if you would have not forgone the underwear you were sure that the smirk he gave you would have melted them clean off your already overly heated body.Â
âWhat is it, sweetheart? Daddyâs little cock slut wants to have a taste before I ruin that pretty little pussy of yours tonight?â
The needy wine that left you lips wasnât the answer Dean was looking for, so he gripped your hair impossibly tighter, and growled as he looked down at your form as you all but squirmed underneath him.Â
âUse your words. I want to hear you beg for it,â Dean said, lowering his face so close to your own that his lips brushed yours with every word, and his whiskey kissed breath fanned warm over your skin.Â
âPlease Daddy, please let me suck your cock, Iâll be a good girl, please let me taste you,â you begged him in a small voice that surprised even you. Deanâs mouth meet yours in a clash of lips, tongue and teeth that ended with his perfectly straight teeth sinking into your lower lips before he pulled away to soon, leaving you breathless and at his mercy, his grip still tight in your hair as he guided you to his impressive length before tapping your mouth with his swollen tip.Â
Reaching out with your tongue you lick softly at his dripping slit. The salty taste of his precome filled your mouth, and you moaned as he gave your hair a sharp jerk, sending the jolt from your scalp to your pussy, that was literally dripping down your leg onto the already stained bed sheets under you.Â
âNo teasing, Bitch,â Dean spat, his teeth gritted against the shiver of anticipation that rolled through his own spine. âHands behind your back, you know the rules. No touching yourself. Iâm gonna fuck that filthy little mouth, and then Iâm going to split open that pretty little cunt.â
As ordered, you opened your mouth and Dean pressed himself into your waiting lips. You sucked at him as he slowly pressed himself into your open mouth. Your tongue ran along the vein under this shaft as he adjusted to the feeling of your mouth around him, stopping when the tip touched the back of your throat with a grunt, his teeth biting into his own lip.
Your fingers dug into your palms as arousal coursed through your body with renewed fervor. Deanâs cock laying heavy on your tongue as you gulped in oxygen. You knew that would be the last easy breath until he was satisfied with your mouth as his eyes locked with your own.
âEyes on me pretty girl,â he commanded as he started to thrust himself slowly in and out of your mouth. âI want to see the look on your face when you choke on my dick.â
Giving him a hard suck in response, Dean started to fuck your mouth with harsh thurst as you tired desperately to relax your throat and hollow out your checks to take all that he was giving you. Your cunt pulsed with every thrust of his hardness into your mouth, and it was all you could do to keep your hands behind your back, and not give yourself the relief you so desperately needed. The only balance you were able to maintain was on your knees, and Deanâs hand still pulled your hair tight as he fucked himself into your mouth over and over again.Â
You did all you could to keep your eyes on him as your throat contracted around his tip as it assaulted you over and over again. Tears were streaming down your face, and your lipstick was ruined as drool dripped from your mouth, but you dared not break eye contact with Dean.Â
He was beautiful when he lost control like this. His green eyes rolled in pleasure every so often. The vein he loved to let you bite showing in his throat as he strained to keep from spilling into your mouth.Â
âFuck, I wish you could see yourself. Taking my cock so good baby girl.â
You moaned desperately around his length at his praises and he shivered above you, his pace faltering as he pulled himself from your mouth just before he could fall over the edge. You gasped desperately for air as he let go of your hair, and you fell down to your hands and knees on the mattress and he positioned himself behind you.Â
A hard smack to your ass caused you to whimper as you felt him slide his thick cock through your slick, not entering you, just teasing your throbbing clit with his tip, his fingers leaving delicious little bruises as his large hands held you in place.Â
âLook at you,â he moaned as your warmth edged around him just enough to make him nearly lose it right there on the bed sheets. âSo wet, so needy.â Another harsh smack to the other cheek made you jump and a scream left your lips as frustration and arousal created the needful ache between your legs. Deanâs slow thrusts against your clit pulled you to the edge, but never let you fall over. âWhat do you want? Tell me.Tell Daddy what you need.â
âPlease Daddy, please, I need you, need your cock, please,â you begged him, and he moaned behind you as his hand ran up your back, over your barely there costume, and into your hair again, giving it a hard jerk as his tip breached you, waiting for heat. âThen take it, slut.â
That was all the warning you got before Dean was pounding you almost flat on your stomach, each thrust hitting your G-spot with mapped out precision. You were a screaming, moaning mess as he pounded you into oblivion.
âThatâs it, baby,â Dean said, smacking your ass and never losing pace as each swat of his large hand made you moan, and your pussy spasm around his length. âYou better not cum yet bitch! If you do, you know it will be the last time for a week. Do you understand?â
You moaned as you fought against the orgasm that had you shaking on the edge of delirium, and Dean gave your hair a hard pull, bring your back up to his chest, ripping your top down so that your tits flopped freely as he continued to pound into your ruined pussy, giving your exposed tits a harsh twist to get your attention. âUse your words Y/N, or Iâm stopping, and Iâll finish myself off while you watch.âÂ
You knew heâd do it. Heâd done it before, and Dean didnât take shit from you, or anyone else, and he wasnât afraid to take care of himself, and leave you waiting.Â
âYes Daddy, I understand,â you squealed as his fingers dug into your hips, his hand never letting go of your hair.Â
âGood girl, such a good girl for Daddy,â he said as he picked up pace, until his hips started to stutter after what felt like an eternity, your own body buzzing as the orgasm youâd been holding off was becoming almost painful.Â
âTouch yourself baby, I want to feel you come on my cock,â Dean said, his voice strained as he raced to his own end.
Your hand traveled down your still costume clad body, and to your swollen aching clit, matching his pace in rough circles.Â
It didnât even take a full minute before your pussy clamped down around his pulsing cock, and your orgasm rocketed through your body as he spilled deep inside of you. Dean pulled you both up as your bodies seized around one another, until he was able to remove his softening length from your body, and lay you gently down on the bed.Â
Your body was still quaking slightly when you finally came back to yourself, as Dean cleaned the mess up between your legs before helping you out of your costume in silence. You watched as Dean crawled over you body, and pressed a sweet kiss to your swollen lips before cleaning the lipstick off your face.Â
âYou okay?â he asked as your eyes met his. There was your Dean again, always worried, always concerned for someone else above himself. Even in this aspect of your relationship, he was always the nurturer that you had fallen in love with under that rough exterior so long ago.Â
âIâm good Dean,â you tell him as his lips pecked at your own again, and he lay down next to you to pull your exhausted body against his own, tucking the covers in around you.
Maybe one day youâd tell each other you loved each other, but not today, for now this would be enough.
âHappy Halloween Daddy,â you told him, feeling him chuckle behind you, before his teeth bit playfully into your shoulder, leaving his mark on your skin.Â
âHappy Halloween Baby Girl.â

âItâs fucking cold.â I took a sip of my hot cocoa, burying myself deeper in the mountain of blankets on my lap, glancing at the snow falling outside.
Wooyoung scoffed and spread his arms along the back of his couch, âItâs December, of course itâs gonna be cold.â
I turned back to him, âOkay, yeah, but Iâm still gonna complain about it.â
âYou complain about everything.â
âThat is a gross over-exaggeration that portrays me in an unfair light and, frankly, you should be ashamed.â
My closest friend smiled, showing his slight dimples. His eyes drifted to my own, smile fading slightly. âWhat do I have to do for you to join us? Even for an hour or so?â
I sighed. Wooyoung had been bothering me about coming to our friend Yunhoâs annual Christmas party for days now, but I simply wasnât in the mood.
âIâd rather not go at all.â
âWhy?â
âYou know why.â
A year ago at the same party, my boyfriend Mingi broke up with me. It wasnât a bad breakup, but it still hurt. He was set to study abroad for the next year and it just made the most sense to him, he told me. So who was I to stand in the way of his dreams? We decided to cut contact shortly after, it being too painful for us to even have small talk. We hadnât talked since.
Iâd spent the following year in a limbo, trying my hardest to enjoy my newfound independence, but ultimately failing, my thoughts somehow finding their way back to Mingi. Everything reminded me of him.
Rainy days made me think of the way he loved to dance with me in the rain, spinning me and smiling wide, warm raindrops messing up our hair. Sunny days made me think of the times weâd both take off work to have picnics, making wishes on dandelions. Stormy days made me think of how weâd cuddle up to one another and watch a trash movie, making fun of the charactersâ bad choices. He was a part of me. He always would be. I suppose two years of dating does that. I suppose they take a part of you with them, too.
I told myself I healed. I told myself I was over him. But deep, deep down I knew I wasnât. Part of me never would be.
âHe wonât be there this year, if that helps at all.â
I remained silent, refusing Wooyoung a response, looking down at the carpet.
âI get it. I know what youâre going through. It really wasnât that long ago that Aisha broke up with me.â
My eyes darted up. Wooyoung hadnât talked about their breakup with me yet. I refused to push him, knowing he was still in pain and that heâd tell me when he was ready.
âIt was for the best but I canât pretend like Iâm gonna move on soon. We were dating for a year and a half for godâs sake.â He let out a bitter laugh and turned to me, âI know itâs tough, but would you do it for me? Please come.â
âOkay.â
-
The high shrill of a female voice rang out through my phone, leading me to pull the device away from my ear.
âI knew Wooyoung could get you to change your mind!â
âArin I get that youâre excited, but Iâm gonna go deaf if you keep yelling.â
âAck Iâm sorry! Iâm just so excited to see you! Itâs been, what? Five months since I saw you last?â
âYeah something like that.â
âWell anyways, I know itâs probably tough for you but I really appreciate you going. I know everyone else will, too.â
I tried to push down the longing I felt for Mingi, remembering the previous year in far too much detail.
âYeah itâll be nice to see them.â
âOkay I hate to cut it short but my boss might actually fire me if he finds me on my phone again.â
âYouâre literally dating him. Thereâs no way in hell heâd fire you. Iâve seen the way he looks at you.â
âShh not so loud!â
I rolled my eyes, knowing I was speaking no louder than usual.
âAlright. Take care then. Iâll see you at the party.â
âYep! Love you, girly!â
âLove you, too. See ya.â
My phone beeped, signaling the end of the call.
I checked the calendar hanging on the wall of my bedroom. Three more days till the party and I was dreading it more and more.
A knock at the door startled me and I made my way over, opening the door to find Wooyoung standing before me with a bouquet of flowers in his hands.
âWhat are you doing here?â
âWhat? Canât a guy just drop by to say hello to his best friend?â
âHe can, but you only do when youâre up to something. What is it this time?â
âNothing! Scoutâs honor!â He lifted a hand to make the famous three-fingered salute.Â
âYou were never a boy scout, dumbass.â
Wooyoung brought a hand to his chest, mocking offense, âIâll have you know that I simply brought flowers over as a thank you for agreeing to come with us.â
âAww really? Do you wanna come in?â
âYeah, really. But nah I canât stay, I just wanted to drop them off.â
âYouâre sweet.â
A cocky smile formed on his face, âI know.â
He passed the flowers over to me, giving me a hug and saying his goodbyes. I watched him walk to his car, a little skip in his step, wondering how anyone could let him go.
-
I grabbed my warmest jacket and walked out to my car. Today was the day Iâd been dreading for weeks. Today was the day Iâd have to put on a brave face and pretend I was alright. I mentally hyped myself up as I slid into the driverâs seat.
Youâll be okay. Youâre strong. You can do this.
Snow was already starting to fall and I made a mental note to be careful. After all, Yunhoâs cabin was roughly an hour away.
As I drove, the snow began to fall much faster, leaving me no choice but to feel concerned. My car didnât have four-wheel-drive and what if my car got stuck? I was only fifteen minutes away but in snow like this with such a low temperature, I wasnât sure Iâd be able to walk the rest of the way.
The sun had already begun to set and seeing the road becoming much harder. Only four more minutes with the current speed I was going. I could make it.
Of course, the universe wasnât having it and my car broke down almost immediately after I had the thought.
âFuck.â
I panicked for a brief moment, trying to start up my car with no success.
Wait. My phone.
Grabbing my phone at rapid speed, I found it out of battery.
âI literally just charged it what the hell?â
I tried my best to cope with the fact that I had no choice but to walk the rest of the way. Taking a deep breath, I opened my car door and braced for the cold wind.
Trudging through the snow storm, I felt my ears and hands begin to hurt from the cold. I could barely see where I was going, having to rely on remembering where the cabin was based on the times I had been there prior.
Eventually I spotted a cabin in the distance and kept going, feeling myself lose heat with every step.
Finally, I climbed up the stairs and reached the main doorway.
I knocked loudly against the large wooden door, silently pleading for someone to answer. After waiting a few seconds with no response I tried to turn the door knob, grateful to find it unlocked.Â
I pushed the door open and entered, quickly closing it behind me. Warm air rushed over me and I never felt so thankful for indoor heating. The inside looked the same as it always did; the main door lead to the living room which had the same snow globes above the fireplace as always, the same Christmas decorations scattered throughout, and the Christmas tree in the same corner as usual.
I shivered and moved to find a blanket when I saw a tall figure enter the living room. I looked up, feeling my heart drop. Standing before me was the one man that I didnât want to be here.
Mingiâs eyes widened and mouth opened, looking at me with surprise. It seemed both of us were frozen, unable to do anything other than look at one another.
His rich chestnut hair was longer than when I saw him last, it was parted in the center, reaching his eyes. He was wearing a fitted green sweater that complimented his honey skin and tight ripped jeans. I refused to allow myself to acknowledge how attractive he truly looked. I refused to tell myself how much I missed him and how I wanted nothing more than to jump in his arms.
âWhat are you doing here?â I managed to say, hating how timid my voice sounded. Itâs because of the cold, I thought.
He seemed to come out of his trance, âI could ask you the same.â
âIâm here for the Christmas party.â
Mingi gave me a confused look. âThe party isnât until the twenty third.â
Annoyed, I narrowed my eyes, âIt is the twenty third.â
He raised a brow and took his phone from his pocket, turning it to me, âDecember 19thâ it read.
âYouâve gotta be kidding me,â I huffed, moving to sit down on the couch while running my hands along my arms for some sort of warmth. Mingi noticed immediately and left the room only to bring back several thick blankets.
I removed my jacket and wrapped the blankets around me as tight as I could.
âMy car broke down a while back and my phone is dead. Is there anyone here that could give me a ride?â I didnât want to spend more time with him than I had to. It hurt too damn much.
Mingi gave an apologetic smile, âIâm the only one here, actually.â
I gave the man a confused look, âWhy are you here?â
âMy second semester ended so Iâm no longer studying abroad. I came back to visit friends but didnât have a place to stay so Yunho has let me stay here for a few days.â He was silent for a few seconds before adding, âI was gonna leave before the party I-â
âYou donât have to explain yourself. Itâs fine.â
Silence.
âI would take you home if I could, but my car is being fixed right now so it isnât here. We could call someone maybe if that-â
âYeah thatâs fine. Can I borrow your phone?â
He nodded and handed it over. I didnât notice it when he showed me his phone before, but his lock screen was different. It shouldnât have hurt to see that it changed from a selfie of us to a picture of him with friends I assume he made abroad. It shouldnât have. It had been a year, I should be over him.
I opened his phone without needing a password and tried to hide a smile. He never had a password in all the time Iâd known him.
Good to know some things never change.
I dialed Wooyoungâs number and pressed the call button.
âWe are sorry, but at this time your service provider is out of range. Please-â
Great.
I handed back his phone, âYou donât have any signal.â
âThatâs odd, we always have service here...Do you wanna charge your phone? Maybe youâll have better luck?â
âYeah.â
He left the room and I placed my head in my hands, trying to process seeing him for the first time in a year. He was devastatingly handsome and still as kind as always.
I really miss him, donât I?
His voice started me, âHand me your phone, Iâll plug it in for you.â
I passed my phone over, accidentally touching his warm hands and I felt a spark run through me which I did my best to ignore. With almost comical timing, just as Mingi reached a plug-in, the lights went out.
âUhh...thatâs not supposed to happen.â
I scoffed, âNo kidding. Do we have a generator?â
âHonestly, I donât think we do.â Mingi gave me a sad look, âItâs been snowing hard outside for hours so thereâs no way weâll be able to leave now. Even with a car.â
âAwesome. I love to hear that.â
âAt the very least weâve got food to last us a few days. We should be okay-â
âDo I look like I want to spend several days here?â I snapped.
He looked taken aback at my words and I felt a pang of regret in my chest.
âIâm not sure we have a choice.â
I hated to admit it, but he was right.
âDo you want any food?â
âHuh?â I asked, confused.
âAre you hungry? I could make you something if youâd like.â
I thought for a moment. âYeah, actually. If you donât mind, anyway.â
Mingi shook his head, walking to the kitchen. I didnât realize how hungry I really was until he mentioned it, so I didnât care what he made for me.
Minutes later he placed a plate and cup on the coffee table in front of me.
My favorite sandwich and chips. He remembered.
It should have been considered kind, but it just broke my heart a bit further. It was a simple act, but it proved that he stored it in his memory.
He remembered.
âI hope itâs still your favorite. I got you your favorite lemonade, too.â
I nodded, trying to prevent tears from spilling.
âIâll be honest, Iâm not quite sure what to do.â
âLighting the fireplace would probably be a good start.â
He laughed, âAh youâre totally right. Iâll be back with a lighter, call out to me if you need anything.â
Donât cry, donât cry, donât cry.
Stuffing my face with the sandwich, I hummed. I always loved his sandwiches. There was something special about them, knowing that he made them for me, and this one was no different.
Mingi once again returned, this time with a lighter and a blanket, lighting the fire and sitting down on the couch across from me, wrapping himself in the blanket.
I couldnât help but wonder how I possibly ended up in the current situation. Maybe the universe was out to get me. Who knows?
I took another bite of my sandwich, hoping Iâd be able to leave soon.
-
I briefly glanced over at Mingi to find him on his phone.
Lucky. I wish I had mine so I wouldnât be so damn bored.
The crackle of the fireplace was the only noise for what seemed like an hour. Neither one of us spoke. Growing tired of not doing anything, I stood and walked towards the fireplace to admire the snow globes. I noticed that behind the globes rested a photo album. I debated whether or not I should open it for the span of a few seconds before my curiosity got the best of me.
Opening it up, I saw pictures of all of our friends from the previous years of Yunhoâs Christmas party. I began to walk back to the couch with my eyes on the book when I tripped, some of the pictures falling out. Mingi noticed and quickly rushed over to my side.
âAre you alright?â He was careful not to touch me, I noticed, but he was still right by my side.
âIâm fine, just help me pick these up.â I motioned towards the pictures scattered across the floor.
âOf course.â
We resumed our silence, picking the photos up and placing them back in the book. Noticing Mingi had stopped helping me I looked at him, prepared to make a quick jab at him for not helping, when I saw why he stopped.
In his hands he was holding a picture of the two of us kissing, dated two years prior.
I let out an empty chuckle, devoid of all humor, âI donât know why thatâs still there. Here,â I reached out to take the photo, âIâll throw it away-â
âDonât.â His response was immediate, taking me by surprise. He shifted awkwardly, clearing his throat, âIâd like to keep it.â
My heart felt like it stopped for a moment, hoping he missed us as much as I did.
âWhy?â I asked.
Mingi smiled, still looking at the frozen image of the two of us. âDo you remember this day?â
âOf course I do.â My eyes began to water without me realizing, âThat day was the first time you told me you loved me.â
His eyes found mine, sadness within them, âYeah. Yeah it was.â His voice became horse as if he was fighting back tears.
âI didnât want to let you go.â
âThen why did you?â
His eyes drifted down. âI was traveling halfway across the world for a year. I guess part of me thought you would meet someone else. I wanted to save myself the heartbreak in case you did.â
âI wouldâve gladly stayed with you if you had asked. I have no desire to meet anyone else. Ever. You are the only one for me.â I froze, the realization of my words hitting me.
Mingi looked at me, âWhen I was abroad, I missed you every second of every day and I have missed you every second of every day since.â His hands cupped my face as if I was made of glass and a single tear fell down his cheek, causing my own tears to spill.
I was no longer able to speak, and so I did the only thing I could think of: I kissed him.
I kissed him with all the hurt that I felt after he left me. I kissed him with the deep love that I still felt for him. I kissed him with the fear that Iâd lose him once again.
Our kisses soon grew heated, the photo album quickly forgotten, and I found my arms wrapped around his neck, hands running through his soft hair while his found their way to the bottom of my sweater, toying with it.
âDo you want this?â He growled, voice much deeper and raspier than before.
âYes.â
With that, he pulled my sweater over my head, eyes scanning the red, lacy bra I was wearing.
His favorite.
Mingi chuckled, âThis is still my favorite bra of yours.â
âI donât know, Iâve got some new ones that are pretty hot.â
He let out a groan and began to leave kisses down my neck, setting my skin on fire.
I stopped him, needed to know one thing before we continued, âDid you...have you...since we last...?â
He smiled, âHow could I? Iâve only ever been yours. Have you?â
I gave a slight smile, âNo. No, I havenât.â
I kissed him again and lifted his sweater, tossing it across the room. He had slightly defined abs when I was with him before, but they were far more prominent now. His arms were much more defined and it took all of my concentration to keep from drooling.
âLike what you see, doll?â
My voice was a borderline squeak, âYes.â
âYou still into praise, sweetheart?
I nodded, pulling on his jeans. Only slightly embarrassed with how eager I was.
âNot yet, baby.â Mingi easily lifted me to the couch and helped me remove my jeans. He grabbed my hips and placed me on his thigh, tightening his muscles as he dragged my clothed core across his own jeans. In mere seconds I became a quivering mess. I realized how truly long it had been since Iâd been with anyone like this, and I had to admit I was needy.
âWhat a good girl youâre being for me. Arenât you? Youâre doing wonderfully, my love.â
I whimpered and pulled myself closer to him.
âAre you close, baby?â
I nodded, maybe too quickly, and felt my orgasm wash over me. I panted, already out of breath.
âGood girl.â
Bringing my lips to his I reached for his pants again and this time he helped me remove them. As I grinded down against him, he let out a deep growl.
âLetâs rid you of these, hmm?â
He eagerly removed my panties and bra and stared at me for a minute.
âGod, youâre beautiful.â
I blushed fiercely. âYouâre so incredibly handsome. Somehow even more so than when I saw you last.â
Mingi looked at me with a shy smile then resumed his actions. He removed his underwear and ran his length across my slit, teasing me slightly.
âMingi, I need you.â I begged.
His eyes darkened and he entered me without hesitation. My back arched as he reached a steady pace and littered my neck with kisses, most likely leaving hickies, marking me as his.
I pulled his hair, bringing him closer to me. Mingi was always fairly vocal, but he could never get enough of me pulling his hair, always moaning in response.
He reached down and toyed with my clit, causing sparks to fly through me.
âFuckâbabe donât stop.â
âWasnâtâshitâplanning on it, doll.â
Both of us quickly reached our high, cumming at the same time. I pressed a hand against his chest as I caught my breath.
âYouâre still really, really good at that.â
Mingi laughed, âYou are too, sweetheart. Oh wait-â
He got up and returned with a warm towel, cleaning me up and looking at me fondly.
âYouâre cute.â
âYeah, yeah,â Mingi smiled, placing the towel aside,âNow, how about we get under some blankets? Weâll feel cold soon enough.â
I nodded and began to put my undergarments on, reaching for my sweater.
âI think not.â He said, now with his pants on, handing me his own sweater which I gladly took.
âYou look hella good in my clothes, miss.â
I giggled at his choice of words, feeling happiness bubble in my chest for the first time in a long time.
âYou look hella good without a shirt, mister.â
Mingi raised a brow and ticked my sides, making me squeal.
âIâll fight you!â I yelled.
He stopped and rubbed his nose against mine, âSorry I canât help it. Your laugh is the most beautiful sound in the world.â
âShut up.â I laughed, feeling shy.
He placed arm around me, nuzzling my neck.
I turned to him, worry in my eyes, âIâm really sorry for lashing out at you earlier. Thatâs not like me.â
He smiled, âI know itâs not. But donât worry about it, I understand. Itâs a defense mechanism I guess.â
I cuddled up to him then realized I needed to use the restroom. I tried to get up when he pulled me closer to him.
âPlease donât leave me.â
âSilly, I just have to use the restroom. I donât want a UTI.â
He laughed aloud, âFine but you better come right back.â
âI will,â I told him, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek before I walked away.
I soon looked in the mirror of the bathroom, observing my flushed cheeks and the wide smile I couldnât seem to wipe off my face.
This girl looks happy. I think I can get used to seeing her in the mirror.
I returned and was instantly pulled back into his arms.
âI love you.â
I felt a tear run down my face, feeling beyond happy, âI love you, too. So much.â
I wasnât sure when, but I felt my eyes began to droop, slowly falling asleep in the arms of the man I loved.
-
The day following, Mingiâs phone recieved signal and I was able to call Wooyoung. Apparently the power lines had fallen, everyone in the immediate area losing power. The nearest roads had been somehow cleared overnight and heâd be able to come pick me up.
âWooyoungâs on his way over, apparently everyone lost power.â
âHmm. well I, for one, am glad we did,â Mingi pulled me into a tight hug.
âYeah, me too.â
A silence fell between us, but it was comfortable this time.
Mingi spoke up, his voice becoming playful, âIâm taking you on a date soon. Thereâs nothing you can do about, Iâm afraid you cannot refuse.â
âAs if I would refuse.â
âMmm.â I didnât think he could, but he pulled me even closer to him.
âMingi youâre literally gonna break my bones.â
He let go of me, eyes wide, âDid I hurt you? Gosh Iâm so sorry I canââ
âYou didnât hurt me you goof.â
âOh good. You scared me.â
The honk of a car horn scared me and I jumped, Mingi hiding a smile.
âCall me if you need anything, okay? Youâve got my number.â
âOf course.â Giving him one last kiss before I bid him goodbye and left the cabin, hopping in Wooyoungâs car.
âHoly shit are you okay? Was anyone even home? My god I feel so badââ
âMingi was there.â
Wooyoungâs face froze, quickly turning into a scowl, âI swear if he did anything to youââ
âNo, donât worry about it. Weâve made up,â I couldnât help the smile that spread across my face.
He didnât say anything, he only stared at me before he spoke again, âYou two totally fucked, didnât you?â
âWooyoung!â I slapped his arm in shock.
âYou didnât deny it!â
âOh shut up. Just take me home.â
He playfully rolled his eyes and put the car in drive.
âJust so you know, Iâm happy for you. I get why he did it but I am still a little pissed. I swear to fucking god if he breaks your heart again I will actually break his knee caps.â
âOh I donât doubt it. I wouldnât worry to much about it, though.â
âIf you insist, okay.â
âI do.â
-
December twenty third. The day that I had been dreading once, now one that I had been very much looking forward to. I checked my makeup and outfit once more before texting Mingi.
Me: Iâm ready whenever you are!
Mingi Mango: Iâm outside :)
Me: Shit, already?
Mingi Mango: Language
I scoffed, grabbing my purse and running outside to meet him.
âBabyyyyyy!â Mingi yelled as he saw me.
âMangoooo!â I yelled back, jumping into his arms.
âHow are you? I havenât seen you in forever!â
âMingi itâs been two days.â
âBut it feels like forever! You look absolutely stunning, by the way.â
âYou cheese. You look really good yourself.â
âYou know it,â Mingi winked and opened his passenger car door for me, âMy lady.â
I was unable to keep from smiling, giving him a little kiss on the cheek and climbing into the car. The entire car ride was filled with lighthearted conversation, not a single silent moment between us.
âWeâre here, doll.â
âYes I see the cabin in front of us.â I teased him.
âWell just in case you didnât I thought Iâd let you know.â He laughed, eyes disappearing into crescents, and I felt my heart swell.
We held hands as we walked into the cabin, finding several pairs of eyes turning to us, then to our intertwined hands. I was pleased to find smiles on my friendâs faces, feeling happy that they were happy for us. Arin came running towards me at a seemingly inhuman speed and wrapped her arms around me.
âAhhh how are you, girly? Iâve missed you so much! And you look gorgeous! I love that sweater on you! And your makeup! Wow! Howâd you do that? Have you been eating well?â
âOne question at a time, Arin.â I smiled.
âSorry! Iâm just so happy!â
"Me too!â I looked around, âDo you know where Wooyoung is?â
âOh heâs out back with San. Theyâre having a competition to see who can build the better snowman.â
I shook my head with a smile.
At that moment she took a step back, looking at our hands. I had told her about Mingi and I dating again over the phone and she seemed happy for me, but I had to admit I was nervous to see her reaction in person.
âYou,â She pointed a finger at Mingi, âIf you hurt even a hair on her head I will actually fight you.â
Mingiâs eyed widened, assuring her that he would never hurt me.
She clapped her hands, âWell, good. Now that thatâs over, do you all want a drink?â Arin cocked her head, the change in mannerisms throwing me a little.
âYeah thatâs fine.â
âOkay! Iâll be right back! Catch up with everyone you two!â
As if he was a ghost, Yunho appeared next to Mingi, scaring us both.
âChrist, Yunho. Give a man a warning first.â
âSorry,â He chucked, âHow are you both?â
âWeâre doing well, thanks.â
âWeâre happy.â Mingi turned to me and looked at me with heart eyes, butterflies fluttering in my stomach.
âYou all are cute. Speaking of, you havenât met Mia, have you?â
Mingi and I exchanged confused looks.
âNo, I donât believe so. Whoâs that?â
âSheâs my new girlfriend. Weâve been dating for a little over a month but if Iâm being honest, Iâm already head over heels for this girl.â Yunho turned, calling out to a girl surrounded by people, âMia, can you come here?â
The short brunette walked over, a smile plastered on her face as she made eye contact with Yunho.
âIâd like you to meet my friends from high school.â He introduced us and she nodded, fully invested in the conversation.
âIâve heard a lot about you both! Iâm so excited to get to know you all better!â
I smiled at her enthusiasm, âAww you, too!â
Arin walked over and handed Mingi and I our drinks, skipping off to meet another friend.
Yunho and Mia wondered off soon after, greeting more people coming in.
âHey Iâve got something I wanna show you.â Mingi whispered in my ear.
âOh yeah? Whatâs that?â
âCome with me.â
Before I knew it, Mingi was pulling me into a bathroom and locking the door.
âI know what youâre doing, Mango.â
âAnd whatâs that?â He asked as he leaned down to reach my neck, kissing me gently, arms resting on my hips.
âWeâre at a party.â I said, whining at him but doing nothing to stop him.
âI saw that couch when we walked in, you know? Iâm never going to be able to look at it the same.â
âMe either.â
My head eventually won the fight I was having with myself, and I promised that if he could wait till he dropped me off Iâd be all his. It seemed to appease him as he gave me one last kiss and led us out of the bathroom. Somehow, no one noticed and I was grateful, sure that my flustered expression would certainly give us away.
âHey, look at this.â
My eyes moved in the direction Mingi was pointing, seeing a mistletoe directly above us.
âOh you definitely planned that.â
âAnd if I did?â
âIâd kiss you all the same.â
Mingi bent down to kiss me, a hand on my face, another around my waist. As I wrapped my own hands around his neck, deepening the kiss, I couldnât help but think that this was what true happiness felt like.
Thank you, Mingi. Thank you for giving me the greatest gift of your love. Merry Christmas, my love.

Soulmate September - Day 6
Day 6 - When your soulmate is injured you will experience pain in that area
Pairing(s): Analoceitmus [ambiguous, can be read romantic or platonic, or a mix], QPR RoyalityÂ
TWs: Injury mention, swearing, Remus being Remus near the endÂ
â
âIâm going to sue him.â, Logan hissed, attempting to sit up in his hospital bed, âSoulmate or not, how can one man possibly be so irresponsible?! Iâm definitely going to sue him.â
He winced as he tried to get comfy, but the tough mattress and uncomfortable bunching of the sheets said suffer.Â
And boy, was he.Â
Logan Sanders was an immaculate, careful man. Had been since he was a child. A neat and tidy lad who - upon learning of the rules of fate - made it his utmost mission to spare his soulmate any pain or anguish for as long as he could manage.Â
His soulmate, however, didnât seem to share that sentiment.
From childhood, Logan found himself with sudden knee pains from scrapes he never fell for, abrasions he had caused no friction to gain, and the occasional shoulder or back pain as if heâd been pushed over when he was standing perfectly upright. At least the universe had decided to spare humanity the anguish of leaving soulmates with the physical injuries that came with the pain, but it was only a minor comfort.
Logan couldnât say he hadnât expected a lot of rough and tumble from his soulmate after his elementary school years, but really; a broken leg, facial burns, and a splintered forearm? âThis is absolute bullshit.â, he bitterly muttered, âBarely hours apart! How is that even possible?!â
His ranting went ignored by the nurse who came to administer his medication; thankfully science had worked out a wonderful little clear pill that could banish the pain from particularly debilitating soulmate pains. The little bastards were expensive - the true pain is always capitalism within the medical world -Â but Loganâs job paid handsomely. Say what you will about computer nerds and whatnot, but programming for the right people lets you make some seriously high end bread. None of that homemade farmerâs market shit.
Unfortunately, heâd have to wait about a week for his pains to ebb gently into nothingness until the klutz of a man fate paired him with got into MORE trouble. Thus Logan couldnât get back to his work. His leg was, for all intents and purposes, broken so the staff couldnât let him go home. He couldnât simply drive home himself either, his splintered forearm saw to that. And Logan couldnât even ask his roommate Emile to bring him his work laptop to try and keep his workload at bay, his left eye was too cloudy and painful to concentrate on a screen.Â
Yes; his soulmate BETTER be paying his hospital bills.
Realisation struck Logan; his soulmate is obviously just as injured, ergo itâs a high probability that he could be somewhere within the hospital too. Using his good hand to reach for a pen, and absolutely dreading adding to his pain, Logan poked the tip into his good arm, wincing as he first attempted to contact them with simple morse code, âMy/ Name/ Is/ Logan. Who/ Are/ You?â
He waited for a response, fearing he would have to start scratching his name onto his arm when he felt the little jabs in response, âJanus.â Great. He FINALLY had a name to put on the lawsuit. Logan, already wincing at the bee-sting pain from the pen, he jabbed out another message,
âAre/ You/ Currently/ Staying/ At/ Stokes/ General/ Hospital?â
The reply came cryptically,
âYes / I / -â
Logan wasnât sure why his soulmate had suddenly stopped replying. Had a nurse confiscated whatever his soulmate was using to poke himself? Either way, Logan would have to be content with the knowledge his soulmate was at least close by. He truly had no idea how close until two very disgruntled voices were within earshot of his room door,
âBrilliant, I just adore being ousted from my comfortable bed so I could spend even longer looking at your delightful face.â
âOh, like youâre the victim here, asshole! Youâre the one stabbing yourself and fucking up my unbroken arm!â
Logan watched them both argue outside of his room door. Both men were sporting similar injuries to his own; the first one that had spoken, refined looking gentleman with sharp features and neat blonde hair, had the left side of his face bandaged heavily. Meanwhile the other man, sporting raven hair and eye bags that could carry a monthâs worth of groceries, was fitted with a cast on his left forearm. Both of them were on crutches, though Logan couldnât see if either had a genuine cast.
âAhem. Gentlemen?â
Logan called to them, watching as both turned to meet his gaze. He lifted the pen in his hand and asked, âI take it one of you is Janus?â
The man with the bandages over his eye, Janus, nodded, âThat would be me.â
The man with the broken arm looked confused, âWait, so, youâre the one who was ramming a pen into their arm? Damn.â, he turned, begrudgingly to the first man, âI guess I owe you an apology then.â
âReally you neednât-â
âThen I shanât.â
Janus glared at the other manâs snark, but Logan found it rather delightful. Clearing his throat once more, he breached the topic, âI take it that means we three are soulmates?â
âFour.â
Logan and Janus looked to the third man as he explained, âYour leg doesnât have a proper cast on it, this asshole doesnât have one either,â, Janus gifted the man a half glare and a middle finger before he continued, âAnd since I donât have one, itâs pretty obvious thereâs a fourth musketeer.â
Fair to say, Logan was impressed, even Janus was hiding the tiniest hint of admiration as he retorted, âAnd are we to call you Sherlock or Dâartagnan?â
The man rolled his eyes, âHa ha, fuck you. My nameâs-â
âVIRGIL!!â
The man, Virgil, nearly lept out of his skin, jerking his arm and giving the three of them a jolt of pain. Logan felt relieved heâd only have to put up with it for a few more days once the medicine took effect.Â
In the doorway stood a man who could only be described as unnecessarily handsome, clad in a burgundy bomber jacket and a Nightmare Before Christmas shirt that seemed out of place on someone who stood poised like the protagonist of a romance anime. Logan noted he and Janus both checked to see if his leg was broken; good to know they had similar tastes even if the manâs lack of a cast dashed their hopes. Said handsome man made a beeline for Virgil, only to receive a swat and a motion to back off,Â
âJesus fucking Christ, Princey, you nearly gave me a heart attack!!!â, Virgil hissed and took a deep breath. âPrinceyâ let out a fond huff, âYou should be so lucky, Bring Me The Depression, do you know how worried Pat and I were when we couldnât find you!? This, dearest Emo Nightmare, is karma at its finest-!â
âYeah, yeah, shut up, Roman. Whereâs Pat? Heâs gonna wanna meet my soulmates.â
Roman blinked, finally registering Logan and Janus just watching the two of them reunite. Clearing his throat, Logan made the introductions, âIâm Logan Sanders, this gentleman is-â
âJanus Delgado. Charmed Iâm sure.â, Janus butt in, âReally, Logan, I can introduce myself. Unlike some people.â
Virgil flipped him off just in time for Roman to frown in confusion, âAndâŚ. youâre all sure youâre soulmates? I mean, no offense but you donât...â, he picked his words carefully, his face contorting at the effort, â....act like soulmates?â
The three of them looked between one another and shrugged, âTo be perfectly fair - Roman, yes? - we have all literally just met today underâŚ. Less than optimal circumstances. I doubt you and your soulmate, assuming youâve found them, hit it off instantly.â
Roman blinked, âKind of, we didnât have any problems like this, quite honestly...â, he almost sounded guilty at that notion, âThe worst we have to deal with is his cat allergies-â
Out in the hallway, a couple of nurses hurriedly walked past and allowed another man into the room who immediately lit up at the sight of Roman and Virgil, âThere you both are!!! I got held up at the vending machine, but when I came back you were both gone!â
âPatton! How glad I am to see you once more!â, Roman beamed, pulling the taller man into a hug and planting a dramatic kiss upon his cheek, to which Logan, Janus, and Virgil simultaneously met with an âughâ. Perhaps they were more alike than they first assumed.Â
Patton turned to meet Janus and Loganâs gaze, looking back to Virgil who explained, âTheyâre two of my soulmates, Pat.â
For a moment, the tall excitable ball of sunshine looked like he was about to pop with joy when Roman held up a hand to interject, âPardon me, but âtwo ofâ?â, and cast his confusion towards Virgil who explained, âOur last soulmate has a broken leg, itâs the only injury we canât account for.â
Patton and Roman shared a momentary look, drawing Loganâs attention, âRoman? Patton? Are you both alright?â. The two seemed to play eye contact rock-paper-scissors to decide who would answer, with Roman losing apparently.
âWhen exactly did you feel the pain in your leg?â
âCouple hours agoâ âAround three?â âPrecisely 3:27 pm.â
Came the chorus of answers. Janus and Virgil both shot Logan a look, to which he quietly murmured, âIt never hurts to provide a little extra clarity.â
âApparently so,â, Janus began, before shifting his partial gaze to the couple, âSo, are you lovebirds-â
âQppâs.â, Patton corrected quietly, to which, Janus did apologise, âPardon me. So, are you queer platonic saps going to clue us in to why exactly you asked us such a specific question?â
Roman sighed, âI ask because my brother, Remus, broke his leg at that exact same time today. Pat and I were going to visit him right after weâd checked in with Virgil.â
The three soulmates shared a collective look, but the first one to pipe up was Virgil, âYou have a brother?! Why am I only finding this out now, Iâve known you for 12 fucking years, Roman! What the fuck!?â
Logan exasperatedly ran a hand down his face as he tried to maneuver himself out of his bed and into one of the hospitalâs wheelchairs, Janus offering a hand to him, âVirgil, as much as I would love to listen to you and Roman bicker back and forth, could we possibly save such trivialities for after we meet our fourth soulmate?â
This time Patton piped up, âOh, um, you may not want to do that just yet-â
As if on cue, roughly six or seven medical staff rushed by, causing Patton and Roman to quickly look around the doorway, only to turn back to the others, âWell, no time like the present. Patton, if you help Virgil, Iâll help Janus once Logan can shimmy into that wheelchair.â, Roman assigned as he offered an arm for Logan to hold onto while he got himself in the chair. Noting the context clues, Logan was rightfully worried, especially as he felt a new pain in his hand, only to note that while Roman and Patton helped them move, Virgil and Janus seemed to be experiencing more pain in their legs than before. In the moment, Logan did feel a little bad that the pill heâd taken hours earlier was saving him from too much additional pain. Approaching the hospital room the medical staff had gathered within, the group were greeted with a wild scene.
A scruffy man strikingly similar in looks to Roman - albeit sporting a thin moustache and silver hair streak - wearing a leg cast was holding a crutch in one hand and an honest to god butterfly knife in the other, standing atop his hospital bed, raving like a lunatic and gesturing frantically to an empty space in the room,
âNOW WILL SOMEBODY FINALLY LET ME OUT OF HERE?! ME AND THIS BEAR WANNA GO CATCH HORNY FISH AND SHIT IN THE WOODS!!âÂ
Charming.Â
Logan glanced over at Patton and Roman, the question clear on his face just like their answer. That was Remus alright. He watched Roman talk with a nurse trying to calm Remus, âWe gave him some painkillers to ease his leg pains, but it shouldnât be affecting him this much!â
âOh, Remus has always been like this with medication, I shouldâve warned the nursing staff.â, he groaned, âBut that doesnât explain-â
âHe mustâve pushed the blue button behind his bed,â, Logan sighed, already anticipating Romanâs question, âThe medical staff likely assumed Remus was coding and thus went into action. Thatâs why theyâre here right now.â
Romanâs expression confirmed that was indeed going to be his question. As Roman went to help the nurses tranquilise Remusâ wild flailing, and while his other two soulmates stood by to watch the chaos - in varying degrees of worry and strange admiration bordering on attraction for his disregard for social norms - Logan tried to come to terms with the facts.
He had three very different soulmates, and by the looks of it? Heâd have to get used to frequent hospital staysâŚ.

I loathe you Pt 1- Sam Fender Imagine
Standing before the mirror, you were impressed with the reflection. You had made an effort with your appearance (for once) and the result wasnât too bad. You were looking forward to tonight, finally getting the chance to catch up with the boys who had been on tour for months. You had missed them, in fact your home town didnât feel the same without them. The plan was drinks at your local pub- the Low Lights Tavern- just so you could catch up and see how everyone was doing. Well, not everyone. Thankfully, Drew had convinced Sam not to come for your sake. It wasnât as if you hated the guy, but he always seemed to kill the mood with his sulky attitude and blunt remarks. It was almost as if he despised you and just couldnât stand your company, so you kindly asked Drew not to invite Sam.Â
You hopped in the taxi and headed towards the tavern, getting more eager by the second to see your friends. The pub was your guys spot, whenever someone needed to celebrate, whenever someone was sad, whenever someone needed to let off a little steam, youâd always meet at this spot.Â
You walked in and instantly looked towards your usual booth. You wouldâve been happy to be reminded of your friends faces, but unfortunately to your dismay, Mr Sam Fender was sat with them, blatant of your arrival. You were tempted to walk back out, to come up with some petty excuse for you to leave, but it was too late, the gang had noticed you. âY/n!â, Dean waved you over, obviously happy to see you. You quickly plastered on a smile and strutted in their direction. You were not going to let Sam ruin tonight.
âHey guys, long time no see.â Dean squeezed up, allowing room for you to sit. Within an instant it was like they had never left. They told you stories from on tour (like Sam threatening to break into a Greggs after a particularly messy night out) and they had asked about what you had been up to too.Â
âSo y/n you seeing anyoneâ, Drew asked, whilst side-glancing towards Sam. Great, you were going to be reminded YET AGAIN that you were still single, and you were certain that Sam basked in your sad, single loneliness.Â
âYep obviously. I think I just defer guys with my presence.â
âObviouslyâ, Sam muttered under his breath. You pretended to ignore him but you couldnât help but notice the sharp glance Drew gave him from across the table. He quickly attempted to assure you. âNah thatâs not true, I knew a bunch of guys who had a crush on you at school.â
âYeah, like who?â You raised your brow out of curiosity.
âSorry thatâs classified information. I promised Iâd never tell.â
âDrew, school was nine years ago.â You folded your arms across the table, waiting for an answer.Â
âYeah but it was a pinky promise and you know how sacred they are.â
âSure, now Iâm gonna go get us some more drinks before you bore everyone with my non-existent love life.â You left the table and headed towards the bar, hoping theyâd change the topic by the time youâd get back. It wasnât as if your love life was non-existent it was just very much unsuccessful. For some reason you had a certain type for dickheads, the kind who loved to walk all over you and cheat whenever they felt like it. In a way you were grateful for your chain of ex-lovers, they had made you tougher to a certain extent, and boys knew it too. In fact, most of the time, the boys refused to meet whoever you were dating. It was almost as if they could see right through each and every bloke, and decided that any guy would never be good enough for you or their time. â6 pints please.â
âThatâs a lot of pints for a small thing like you.â You hadnât even looked at the bartender, but his voice seemed to pull you out of a trance. You quickly realised how good-looking he was. He was roughly in his late 20s, dirty blonde hair and kind brown eyes. He was charming in some sort of way and he had even kinder smile. Shit, you were still staring. He must think Iâve got something wrong with me.Â
âI wish they were, but Iâm pretty sure youâd have to roll me out of here if I even attempted to down all six.â He laughed and started pouring out glasses, locking eyes with you every so often. âSo are you new? I havenât seen you around here before.â God, you were cringing so bad. You knew you were a bit rusty but this âflirtingâ was just a shit-show.
âKinda, some of my relatives live down here but I donât live too far either. I take it youâre local?â
âSadly, yes. Hopefully I can get out soon if my job picks up.â You were hopeful, but it was the truth. Although you loved Shields, you didnât wanna stay here forever.Â
âItâs not too bad around here, where would you wanna go, when you do get out?â
âIâve not thought that far ahead yet, maybe down South or maybe even somewhere else in Europe.â
âIâll have to tag along if you donât mind.â He folded his arms across the bar and leaned down to your eye level. God, talking to this guy was so easy, you could stare into those eyes for hours. You hadnât even realised that heâd poured all six drinks!Â
âSure, I could use the company.â You played along, silently hoping heâd take you up on the offer.Â
âIsnât your boyfriend good company then?âÂ
âMy boyfriend?!â You gave him an unsure glance, you were certain that you were single.Â
âYeah, the guy giving me the evils.â You turned to look. âDonât look!â He lightly grabbed your arm stopping you from turning. âGod, donât make it too obviousâ, he laughed. âThe guy in the white-shirt sat with you and your friends, blondish hair?â
âOhhhhh, thatâs Samâ, you laughed. âWeâre not together.âÂ
âHeâs been giving me the evils ever since you strutted on over, I took a guess thought you and him were a thing or something.â
You snorted, âSam basically hates me, he treats me like shit or ignores me half the time.â
âTrust me, coming from a guy, heâs definitely feeling something other than hate for you.âÂ
âAnd trust me, knowing Sam for nearly 10 years, basically makes him my brother.â You couldnât put anymore emphasis on that, you and Sam were not a thing. Period.Â
âWell if youâre adamant that thereâs nothing going on between you, Iâd love to take your number?â You blushed but willingly took the guys phone and dialled in your number.Â
âY/n by the way.â
âArchie, lovely to meet you y/n.â He smiled and you and you smiled back effortlessly. God, his smile really was something.Â
âYou too, now Iâd better get back to my friends before they start screaming for their beer.â You walked on ever to the group, careful not to spill the drinks.Â
âOi oi, look at you gettinâ ya flirt onâ, Dean whistled. You blushed again, knowing full well that Archie could hear.Â
âSee told ya guys fancied you, you just canât see it half the time.â You instantly thought back to Sam and glanced in his direction. Sure enough, he was sulking as usual.Â
âIâm going for a ciggyâ, Sam announced, and with that he stood up and stalked on outside- ruining the mood once more.Â
âThink I might join himâ, Drew said and quickly left after him. You shrugged and sat down next to Dean once more. Dean started talking about the good old days, laughing about the stupid things you guys did when you were young.Â
âRemember that one time you hit by the swing playing chicken, and Sam felt so bad he pedalled home to go get you a plaster.â
âOmg and by the time he got back, I had stopped crying and we had started a new round.âÂ
âHe was so mad, I remember he wanted you to sit out to rest your âinjuredâ knee. It was literally the smallest cut ever!â You both laughed at the memory. You remembered that you had argued with Sam that day, you refused to sit and watch whilst the boys had all the fun. âI miss those days manâ, Dean continued, âwhen we didnât have to worry about anything other than going to the park after school.â
âYeah but you enjoy tour life right? Youâre travelling, meeting new people. Iâm sure you got girls throwing themselves at your feet as well.âÂ
âThatâs one bonus, I get homesick though. Actually, Sam was saying how you should come with us when we go on tour next.â
âHe did?!â The news took you by surprise. He wanted to spend time with you.Â
âYeah, he said you could be our own personal groupieâ, Dean chuckled. You? A groupie for Sam? You loved there music, there was no doubt about it but you werenât sure how you felt about him as a person. Youâd known him for a while but you didnât really KNOW him that well. He was a difficult person.Â
âYeah sounds good. I missed you guys whilst you were away.â
âWe all missed you too, especially Sam. It was kind of annoying actually, he complained about you not being there with us A LOTâ. God, Sam just seem to escape the conversation tonight. Everything just sounded so unlike him. It never acted like this around you, and he certainly hadnât said anything nice about you to your face. It was definitely a shock.Â
âSpeaking of the buggers, Iâm going to see whatâs taking them so long.â You needed some air anyway, it was so stuffy inside. As you reached the door you heard a quiet a conversation. You wouldnât usually snoop but you recognised the voices. It sounded like a very important conversation. Their voices were tense yet quiet, ensuring that no one would be able to hear. No one but you obviously.Â
âDrew leave it. Nothings ever going to happen between us. We wouldnât work. Weâre two VERY different people who have VERY different lives.â Sam. You wondered who he was on about, was he seeing someone? Why did you care?
âMate youâve had a crush on her since we were 12. I know you still like her, and you canât deny it.â
âYeah and so what. We date. It goes wrong. It fucks up our whole gang. Things become awkward. The end. Thatâs what will happen. End of.â
âWell, youâll never know until you try. All Iâm saying is that you better man up quick, otherwise someones gonna beat you to it.â
Wait, known since 12, fuck up whole gang, that only narrows it down to one person. Me, Sam likes me, you thought, and with that, you heard the boys stomping out their fags ready to re-enter the tavern and face you once more.
