Back before I changed my name, a new guy with the same name started working at the bakery where I was working. They only used first names on the schedule most of the time, so I was really confused for a sec when I saw myself not only scheduled for a barista shift, but at the same time as the baking shift I was still on the schedule for. After a minute I figured out it had to be a new guy.

The first day we were scheduled together, he was the only new hire working, so I knew it was him when he came up to introduce himself, and it went like this:

Him: "Hi, I'm [name]!"

Me: "Likewise!"

Him: "Pleased to- wait what?"

Me: 😸

#also there were two other people with the same first name in my 7th grade class #i had met a couple of Alexises before #and they were all pretty cool #which was a minor but non-negligible part of picking that name for myself #don't think ive ever met anyone else who goes by “Lexi” tho #food mention

#my art #furry #anthro #monster #dragon #oc #not my own but nevertheless #these characters are all lots of fun....thank you everyone for giving me cool guys to draw #also BIG things coming (said for the sixth time over the course of the year)#anyway i went apple picking for the last time this year recently which pretty much brings scrumping season to an end #here's a review: blackberries EARLY. annoyingly early but they were okay. greengages amazing. brings a tear to my eye #cherries SUCKED. cherries do better next year. grapes i'm still harvesting actually but doing well. sweet #and apples kind of popped off!!! year of the ugly apple this year - the beautiful red ones were worse than the scabruous pimply brown ones #which were crisp and had thin skin and a beautiful sweet-mellow-nutty taste...wonderful

Hiccup was a runt, the most awkward, frailest guy around. He was created with the intent of being someone who's different from everyone else; both in his design and story. Someone who's weak around people who value strenght, someone who befriends dragons while others want to kill them. Hiccup makes up for his physical weakness with compassion and trying to bring peace to both sides.

Which is why in his every iteration after the first movie (+ ROB); Hiccup is a 6'1, modern beauty standart who can easily beat everyone in combat no matter how more build or/and experienced they are, unless the writers decide they need to higher the stakes, or they have other characters fight the enemy for him.

#the bit about him beating anyone easily is mostly reffering to the third movie #It's also why i heavily dislike astrid in thw. although for slightly different reasons #thw astrid is a shallow girlboss trope of a pretty girl who stomps everyone around her but has to follow conventional beauty standart -#- of not having any muscles. because 'women who are muscular can't be feminine and pretty'#the other bit is about trader johann. him and viggo are like the only ones who were ever allowed to actually get a hit on hiccup #the last is refering to drago #no you don't understand how pissed i was at seeing hiccup in thw just ragdolling everyone #not to mention the same guy who's advocating for peace for both sides just set a whole ship of soldiers on fire??#they could've used the kratos psychology “it's moral to kill something if it tries to kill you first” there #but no every human except berkians is evil and killing is cool when the protagonists do it #hiccup #hiccup haddock #httyd #httyd 2 #httyd 3 #rtte #httyd criticism #how to train your dragon #how to train your dragon: the hidden world #hiccup you'll always be the short awkward little thing who looks like the wind will blow him away to me <3 #they took all character design swag from the protagonists and gave it to the villains

induced to me by my contemporary art exam AND a rewatch of rebels after years that. got me into sabezra unexpectedly AND i updated krita and there were many new brushes i wanted to try

anyway they look amazing

i really wanted to try greyscaling but I'm not sure it looks good. idk. + while i was making it i was listening to i love you by fontaines d.c. (GREAT SONG FROM A GREAT UNDERRATED BAND) and. the grey fit into that mood much better

also two versions without the sketch lines. where ezra looks happier even if they're uglier

#i didn't expect to like them as a ship ngl. but there are some moments that recall kanera (AND I LOVE THEM) especially if you've read #a new dawn. and IDK COOL!! probably i didn't ship them from the start because. in s1-s2 they're just kids and everytime i reach s3 i keep #brainrotting on thrawn <3 and kallus <3 and zeb <3 idk i kinda forgot about them and all the scenes they were in LMAO #ALSO. i love you is truly a wonderful song wtf?? it's not something I'd associate to sabezra BUT probably after having listened to it for a #month. and having drawn this in the meantime. i found some connections. the fact that the songs alternated between that melodic part #that talks about love to the other verses about (very generally) society. just felt like how their relationship would go. rapidly switching #between the fast paced fights for the rebellion to the calm of the preparation they require that can allow them for some tenderness. ALSO #ezra is so much “if there was sunshine it was never on me / so close the rain; so pronounced is the pain”#and sabine is pretty much “you only open the window; never open up the door” sometimes. especially before her darksaber arc #btw i know this song is about ireland and their relationship with theid country BUT it just prompted me to their grey figures #and colorful background. also. there's something about klimt making some of the most tender representations of love ever imo BUT keep #choosing to represent rather dark iconographies whenever he's asked to do something (I'm thinking about the medicine panels for the uni)#like. there is a similar contrast in there as well. also i like that. ursa had a portrait of herself in her home that referenced klimt #like. it's ursa in her prime; in a literal golden age. i can imagine sabine associating a good moment - one of her bests - to such an #expressive decoration. and maybe stripping colors away when that moment is gone and all that remains is the memory and feeling #OKAY WHY DID I TALK SO MUCH i must've put more thought on this that i previously thought. crazy #it started as a fun experiment to try krita's oil brushes. *in david byrne's voice* how did i get here?#star wars #sw #star wars rebels #star wars fanart #star wars rebels fanart #ezra bridger #sabine wren #ezrabine #sabezra #sabine wren fanart #ezra bridger fanart #sw fanart #g posting

The Nobleman or 양반 (yangban): The smiling face represents the bluff and composure that an aristocrat is often known to have. The chin is a separate piece from the top of the mask, and the actors can lean forward and back to make the mask smile or frown as needed.

This monk who abandons his doctrines, or 취발이 (chwibari): Chwibari was originally a monk, but he had no intention of joining the monastic order, so he came down to the world and wanders. Represented with a forehead full of wrinkles and spots.

The widow or, 부네 (Punae/bune): represented to be a widow, or a kisaeng ( a woman who sang, danced, or played an instrument to provide entertainment for company at a drinking party), or a mistress of the Yangban. She has a very small mouth, round cheeks and forehead- giving a general look of happiness good-humor.

#skz #stray kids #skzedit #bystay #obligatory i am no expert take it with a grain of salt blah blah #theres no changbin bc you cant see the mask clearly and no hyunjin because as best I can figure his mask is a General/high ranking official #but most of those are modern productions and dont have any real descriptions or anything.#these plays were made to mock the upper classes so the nobleman is p much always treated like a fool or bastard lol #also these all change depending on the location- so like the chwibari is usually a negative portrayal of a monk who drinks and parties #and isnt very... monk-ly lets say- but then theres a story where he saves his lover from a lecherous monk and they get married so 🤷‍♀️#he wasnt a monk that iteration though or he abandoned his studies ?#and then the widow/concubine varies from sympathetic young widow to a kinda femme fatale who seduces the nobleman/scholars #Will any of this play into the concept? probably not. they dont really commit to concepts lbr #but still! it was interesting to look into and the masks are pretty to boot so this was fun :)#it'd be cool if they did a mask dance. i always loved thunderous for the traditional elements so i hope that happens #also YEAH a korean seungmin girl saying she was sad the foreign fans wouldnt get the significance bc she wants to see 'secondary art'#did inspire this (of course i'd wanna know why he was the only one given a womans mask dont act surprised)#bc im pretty sure i know what she means by secondary art and LMAO #i see right through you.... and into myself maybe #long post

truly one of the most annoying things in modern landscape of media is watching your beloved movies get either ugly and always worse 'remakes' or get more and more sequels until it turns into a cruel joke of mediocrity

(i saw a single screenshot of shrek 5 and wish i had never seen it, 1 and 2 are very good movies and very important to me but anything after that is just tasteless desperate attempts to keep it going after gettign the perfect ending...)
