I’ve talked about this before but imagine what it’s like for someone in a country/place where eliot is Top Most Wanted and then your tech guy finds a breakout star baseball player on their visual scanner that looks EXACTLY like spencer. but…there’s no way that’s him, right???

and then the next year it happens again but this time it’s some one hit wonder country singer kenneth crane that has like 78 tween-run fangirl blogs dedicated to him. you see a grainy video of him being chased by a horde of screaming teenage girls and ??? no way Eliot Last Thing You’ll Ever See Spencer is a country singer star just. signing pictures of his face right…?

a few months later your intern shows you footage of an eliot lookalike who is in san lorenzo talking about how there is dog fighting in the presidential palace and you just. sigh. because of course. a scant few days later the political geography of the country changes drastically and damien moreau is imprisoned. …interesting

and then a year of silence goes by. he still shows up as blips on the radar but he must have a good hacker working for him because his tracks on the internet are expertly erased.

every time you ask through interagency channels some random interpol guy talks in (condescending?) riddles at you and it also somehow feels like he’s threatening you

and then your friend who recently got into foreign hockey teams sends you a dropyourgloves video of someone called jacques the bear. you immediately get a headache (and watch some more videos because even you can admit this guy is a good hockey player)

and you know he’s a Bad Guy but it’s been admittedly a bit entertaining seeing what claim to fame he will come upon next. and his most recent actions over the few years make you wonder.

a few months later your phone pings because multiple heads of state evacuated from DC. the reason? eliot spencer was in town. you hear two days later a bioterrorist was taken down by… the report was redacted. your hacker tells you spencer and two teammates were behind the successful operation. which, huh.

not even a full year later it is released that spencer is dead and… you don’t know how to feel.

kinda obsessed with the fact that grace isn’t in “go go nighthawks.” the person that came up with the whole plan to get back at max and to chop up and hide his body, is the one student that doesn’t reap the benefits from it.

her saying “mama i’m cured” only after she saw ghost max in her dream and thought he wasn’t sexy at all just shows how nothing changed for her after max died. it took that dream for her to move on. and it shows that those feelings were all grace and not actually max’s fault. (he certainly didn’t help, but he never made her have that fantasy)

i’m so curious about how those two weeks were for her

Tomie makes me so sad. She was just a high school girl who was pretty shitty and yeah needed to work on her personality but she got groomed by her teacher and was subsequently murdered by that fucker and dismembered by her entire class who made her out to be this horrible child of evil because they valued a pedophile’s career over getting justice for the death of his victim. And now because of their actions she’s cursed to relive her death forever, what’s left of her humanity stretched thinner and thinner in every subsequent version of herself until she becomes the person she was seen as by everyone else — a nefarious, selfish, arrogant girl who will doom the lives of every man she gets involved with until she’s finally burned like the witch she is.

Every time something from HMD comes up I wonder about Dayes and whether Granby was actually friends-friends with him or just cordial comrades by way of being first and second lieutenant on the same dragon. Would they have stayed in contact at all after the first book? Like, nobody ever tells Granby the whole of what happened with Dayes, so Granby going all ride or die for Laurence wouldn’t necessarily make him end the existing friendship, if there was one.

Hey! I’ll answer this one because it’s not actually about the topic.

I always used special characters when using that word as I don’t even want these blog posts to show up as a result when people are searching up the word on tumblr, or even have any of my blog posts linked to the topic. But I can now see why that would be an issue when people just don’t want to see anything about it at all and have the word blocked; apologies for that!

Regardless, I hope that is the last time I ever need to mention that topic on this blog so hopefully it’s the last time I ever mention it at all. So it should not happen again!
