As gen-AI becomes more normalized (Chappell Roan encouraging it, grifters on the rise, young artists using it), I wanna express how I will never turn to it because it fundamentally bores me to my core. There is no reason for me to want to use gen-AI because I will never want to give up my autonomy in creating art. I never want to become reliant on an inhuman object for expression, least of all if that object is created and controlled by tech companies. I draw not because I want a drawing but because I love the process of drawing. So even in a future where everyone’s accepted it, I’m never gonna sway on this.

Indeed, it is largely the Discord, my friend, with which I take issue. I am in full agreement with you. Epic was truly great in its earlier days when it remained a close-knit community tied to the Homeric Odyssey fandom—an outlet for those of us with a shared passion for Greek mythology.

However, I found myself departing from the Discord following the Ithaca saga, as it became altogether overwhelming.

The space now appears overrun by individuals, many seemingly mentally ill and needing to be supervised on a cellular device, who strive for an air of 'cool and trendiest' yet make little effort to learn along the core ideas.

Even the administrators seem to have resigned themselves to indifference.

The behaviour has devolved into sheer childishness, and I am reminded, with no small amount of dismay, of the My Hero Academia situation.

It is an unfortunate truth that, the so very few good ideas are so often tainted by those who fail to cherish them.

I don't mean to step on anybody's toes and it's late and I'm tired but has anyone else noticed the Epic fandom is getting like. REALLY annoying? Or am I just tripping
