Just made the best grilled chicken of my bbq life and it was so damn easy
I have to share
The chicken: bone-in skin on thighs
The prep: open package, place the chicken on a plate and salt on both sides with kosher salt in an even layer.
The marinade: 3 Tablespoons of ranch dressing and a 1/2 cup of buttermilk, or mixture of yogurt and milk.
Place the thighs in a ziplock with marinade and let it sit while you set the grill up. You can marinate longer, or even overnight for improved texture/flavor, but mine only went about 90 minutes before I cooked them and they were fantastic.
Set up the grill half with coals, half with a water bath. Add a few chunks of smoking quality hardwood on top of your coals. You can use a gas grill for this but you won't get the smokey flavor which is a big part of this. If you have a gas grill, you may want to baste the chicken with a bbq sauce near the end of cooking to enhance flavor. You need at least a full size Weber for this, you can't do this on a smokey joe. When your temperature hits 350, close your dampers (I used 1/4 open on top and bottom on my weber) and keep the temp as close to 350 as possible.
Put the chicken on the cool side of the grill, with the skin facing up. Shut the lid and let cook for 45 minutes without opening the lid. Use your vents to keep your heat low and steady. After 45 minutes rearrange the chicken thighs so that they cook evenly. Check and add charcoal if it is depleted, but if you kept your temp under control, it should be fine. No need to add smoking wood, they should be pretty well smoked by this point. Put the lid back on and cook another 45 minutes. The next time you open up, test the thighs. They need to get to at least 165, but they can go a lot higher without drying out.
Open your vents to stoke up the hot side of the grill, adding more charcoal if needed. Keeping the lid on the grill will help it heat faster. When the temperature gets up over 400 put the thighs skin side down on the hot side. As the fat renders out of the skin you will get flare ups. That's fine, you want some of that. Don't let them catch fire and you'll be fine. Use tongs to get the charring on all sides of the meat. This is the point to add some bbq sauce to your thighs if you want. Cook for five-ten more minutes with the meat on the cool side of the grill and the lid on to set the sauce.
When the thighs are at the doneness you prefer (I personally like well done 180F+ on chicken thighs), remove them to rest a few minutes.
These grilled chicken thighs are great as is hot, or cold in picnic lunch, cut up in a salad, shredded for tacos, put in a wrap etc. Serve with BBQ sauce on the side.

"Why did Tears of the Kingdom have a development cycle just as long as Breath of the Wild's even though it reused so many assets?" is a question that I think fundamentally misunderstands how modern game design works
It assumes that the team does something like all sit down, develop the physics engine, then they can move on to the overworld map, then they can move on to making the cutscenes, etc. and when you think about that for just a second it becomes obviously absurd. Developing a physics engine, writing dialogue, creating textures, designing puzzles, and so on are all different disciplines that different specialists work on in parallel and in cooperation
What probably actually happened is a lot of the artists, engine devs, and so on put a lot less time into the project, before/while working on a bunch of different projects at Nintendo (quite possibly including the engine and art for the next Zelda game), and they also probably didn't need to get Monolith Soft to help design the overworld. Meanwhile, the puzzle designers, writers, and a lot of the rest of the team have to do just as much work as they did for Breath of the Wild (or more!), and so it's not that surprising that it took just as long
(Disclaimer that I don't know for certain that this is how it happened internally at Nintendo, and short of interviewing the devs I don't think there's any way to find out. The credits won't help because close to all of the people who moved on to other teams either worked on TotK for part of the development and/or had their work ported over from BotW. This is just my understanding of how modern AAA game development works)

From a previous poll it has been decided that Lan Wangji can cook, but the real question is....Can He Grill?
#poll#I was going to do my thing and make a funny comic on the poll results but....#people got a little heated at that one. Not a unbearable amount of spice but I do not want to kick up any dust more than I have#Anyways now that THAT poll is over I just wanna add my two cents and say that I think both *can* cook. It's a matter of poor generalization#WWX knows the core principals but doesn't see much point in the process of cooking especially if it's just for him. Faster meals are better#Eat the raw ingredients and go back to work kind of guy#LWJ can follow a recipe and has the patience to cook a nice meal but doesn't have that innate chef sense. Useless without recipe type cook#They simultaneously can and cannot cook. It's situation specific#That *just* my own thoughts though! There is evidence to suggest both can cook if they must and there's the funny avenue of saying#that the are Banned From All Kitchens Everywhere#Cooking is different from grilling though. the “im hanging on by a thread” “im telling you you gotta try apricot jam that thread will turn into a rope” is me with miso paste. my friend casually mentioned one day that her go-to easy vegetarian meal was miso soup and i was like making miso soup isnt easy (or vegetarian) you got to deal with the dashi and its a whole thing. she said well i mean i just use the miso and some tofu. truly a life changing interaction. now whenever i am sad and need easy hearty meal i make a bare bones miso soup…this has perhaps been a pillar holding me up this year
#my sad times miso adjacent soup:#heat some water. put some broc in there#before water boils but is hot take out a few tablespoons into a little bowl#stir in a chunk of white miso paste (not good to boil miso)#once water boils put in some instant noodles.#crack an egg on top if so desired. cook until noodles are done#take off heat. Add in some silken tofu sesame oil whatev toppings and mix in ur miso-water#voila. soup with miso in it (not to be confused w miso soup)#i’d say 10 min tops if ur pot is small (so water boiling faster)#now that my mind has been opened. friends what are ur go to vegetarian meals
