I have been reading your review of Transformers One again and also looking back at the movie, which gives me this hot potato take:

Orion Pax weirdly feels like a Gary Stu, not because he was overpower and flawless (which I know there are no solid definitions of the term Mary Sue/Gary Stu and I don't think he's one). It's just that his characteristics felt too convenient to the plot as the writers just slap all the likable traits of a typical heroic character and just called it's a day without further exploration. They tried to go for the angle of a normal bot, average Joe from lower classes that get thrust into adventure and great destiny. But nothing about him is normal, even though he was supposed to be an insignificant miner. He was already special in the movie, with his tendency to break protocols and his obsession to find Matrix and be something more, and as you mentioned in your review, we simply don't know why he adamant about finding the Matrix. Would it be better that we showed a hint of Orion Pax not trusting Sentinel actually finding the Matrix in his expedition and felt out of place for being the only one who's skeptical of Sentinel??? And his trust issues with Sentinel could come from all his times sneaking and reading the history of Cybertron and noticing the hole in those records??? This would have made him very compelling and interesting, and also explained why he was so calm and level-head about Sentinel's lie and betrayals compared to other characters. Yeah sure the movie "showed us" Orion Pax's good and heroic traits to hint at his worth for the Prime title later, but uhm, it feels like the movie told us about his traits instead and expect us to roll with his characteristics as his scenes didn't convey these traits well enough or quite lacking.

And for a character supposed to be the main protagonist, he felt more like a deuteragonist supporting D-16/Megatron, which resulted in him being that hero who was just there to make the main villain more compelling and interesting.

I did like TF:O Orion Pax in my first round but after sometimes, I realized I simply like him because I projected a much-better written protagonist with similar traits into Orion Pax and made way him more interesting than he's actually is.

Aside from my issues with Orion Pax, Elita-1 is simply a plot device character, and I just don't get her personality/characteristics at all. She also didn't have any arc and her interactions with other characters, especially with Orion Pax when they were on the surface felt very artificial to me. And she's fake girlboss because nowhere in the movie showed that she's better than anyone, especially Orion Pax.

This is just my longest ramblings about my issues with the movie that barely evoked any emotions for me.

No no you are absolutely cooking with this.

TFO Orion IS a Gary Sue. He has no proper emotional base in order to establish his goals and opinions on things. His background is plain but lacks the hint or originality needed to give him the spark to act out of line, at least in a believable manner. His behavior is selfish, and yet he is proclaimed a hero by the end of the film without his arc having been completed. Orion can absolutely be selfish and foolish in the beginning, but if we are going to herald him as a saint, he needed to have had more development. As it stands, Orion was made God's favorite because... reasons. (Alpha Trion why didn't you guide our main cast while you had the chance????)

I 100000% agree with you on your assessment of Elita. She's there for the sake of sending a poorly written message and that is all. No growth, no real origin, no backstory, no properly established relationships. She's there to kick around a few future Decepticons and make everyone else look like fools. She needed so much more to be excellent, and I am legitimately sad that she didn't get the arc she needed to be a respectable character.

THOUGHTS ON S2 ALICENT AND HOW EVERYONE IS WRONG ABOUT HER.

Now that I've had some time to process and review. Here are my final thoughts/ hot takes. Some of these will probs conflict with my initial reactions to thing.

It wasn't a mischaracterisation of Alicent to abandon Aegon and Aemond, considering she never liked them to begin with. Which is literally the reason behind Aegon and Aemond being dysfunctional; her love was given conditionally. She only ever defended them against Rhaenyra, meaning she didn't bother to actually form loving relationships with her sons outside of projecting Otto's ambitions onto them.

She was ALWAYS a hypocrite. Her fucking Cole, even though yes it was annoying as fuck - is pretty in line with her characterisation. She literally let Larys wank to her feet in exchange for his loyalty/ her having more subliminal power. Remember how...she ostensibly gave Larys the green light to like murder Ser Harwin... and then attempt to murder Mysaria... yea...

Her idea of virtue was literally only ever used to maintain the idea of superiority over Rhaenyra/a justification to usurp the throne. It was never a real value of hers. It makes sense she'd abandon it when she is rendered powerless. Because it makes no difference either way to her.

Alicent may be a victim of the Patriarchy, but equally she is 100000% an abuser and an enforcer of Patriarchy. I won't elaborate. It's clear.

It also isn't out of character for her to not give a fuck about Jaehaerys either. Considering she massively projects her own trauma onto Helaena, and in general projects herself onto Helaena. She hasn't spent much time at all with the kid... like ever. And hardly even spends time with Helaena? She also like... willingly ignores Daeron.

It makes sense that Alicent probably feels little connection to Jaehaerys by virtue of the fact she seems to struggle with connecting to her sons. And Jaehaerys is an extension of Aegon and also of the crown.

Alicent has to an extent been traumatised by Targaryen men. All of which lean in to their "Targaryenness".

Helaena who, doesn't ride Dreamfyre (which annoys the fuck outta me that they made this choice). Seems to have little interest in her own House, thus is the most removed from being a Targaryen and to Alicent, is more aligned with herself.

So all in all, it makes sense why Alicent would basically be like "fuck them all but Helaena."

I think Alicent is deeply traumatised by the male dominated world. And in order to survive she had to adopt the qualities she knows men expect of women in order to maintain a level of power/control she had. Her entire life has been gaining power through the proximity of men and being used by them. She used virtue as a way to protect herself and maintain a level of power. That's why she opposes Rhaenyra, because Alicent has convinced herself that this is the reason she has cultivated her position. Because she is righteous. And Rhaenyra (whom is not righteous or virtuous) does not deserve to rule because of it.

However, once Aegon is on the throne, she realised that it was never her virtue which gave her power but her PROXIMITY TO POWERFUL MEN, WHICH DID - this entire farce collapses. She realises that the mask she wore means nothing. The entire identity she built herself around means nothing. She was never a good mother and she knows it. That's why she can turn around and abandon Aegon and Aemond. She made monsters who she can't control and she doesn't even want to. She'd rather abandon the Targaryens altogether and dissociate herself then face the fact SHE FUCKED UP. And... she legit did that throughout season 1 to... so....

Remember how Helaena said she didn't want Jaehaerys to be King? It's because even Helaena is aware of the dangers being on the throne causes. She knows her son would constantly be under threat and also living a life of despair. She just wants him to be happy because she loves him.

Alicent? On the other hand, literally hears Aegon SAY he doesn't want the crown. Literally hears how miserable he is once he has it. And basically doesn't give a fuck because her ambitions come before his wellbeing. She literally has never been a loving mother. She may have loved Aemond and Aegon deep down. But she wasn't loving. People for some reason think the two are mutually exclusive and they aren't. Abusive people can love you. But they can only love to the capacity they know how.

To Alicent, abandoning her sons is probably the most loving thing she can do. That way they can be free of her, and she can be free of them.

Think about it this way, if your sons were like... genuinely lowkey diabolical, would you stand by them without question?

If the first was a known rapist, enjoyed watching kids being beaten, treated his wife like shit, neglected his kids, spent most of his time drunk and having sex with prostitutes, tormented his younger brother etc; how positive would you feel about him?

If the second was a known maniacal edgelord who killed his own nephew, then tried to kill his brother, then also killed his cousin and then..... also lowkey committed genocide, etc; how positive would you feel about him?

Oh and they were both kinda misogynists?

In the real world, the mothers of fucked up men won't stand by their sons. Some do, but society has agreed those mothers are fucked up for being enablers.

Why do we expect Alicent to love her sons unconditionally, when she literally never did?

The problem isn't her arc, the problem is that the writers didn't actually explore the Green properly this season in order to allow us to understand Alicent. We saw so little of the Greens interacting with each other and so little of their dynamics that... in contrast to S1 Alicent, yea it does feel like they fucked up her character. But they didn't. They just sped run through her arc.

People comparing Ceresi to Alicent are greatly missing the point of Ceresi too. Whom was a raging narcissist - though yes she loved her children. She loved them because they were an extension of her and Jamie entirely. And her love for them meant she enabled Joffrey to become a fucking psychopath. Which again, is what the Patriarchy expects of women. It expects them to stand by men regardless of what they do. It expects them to be good and loyal. But Alicent is neither of those things and she never really was. Alicent is ALLOWED to be a bad mother. And she is ALLOWED to subvert our expectations of what a good mother should be. It's not anti feminist to let Alicent

I don't think it's a bad choice to have Alicent slowly start to develop reservations about the war. The only person who shouldn't of had those reservations is Rhaenyra.

The problem truly was, everything was so rushed, we didn't get the time to spend to see Alicent's arc develop properly. But all in all, like... I think people just be mad because, they are projecting their own ideals of womanhood and motherhood onto her. She is a victim, but she is also the abuser. And that's pretty much standard with the Greens. Both Aegon and Aemonds are both both victims and abusers too. That's legit what makes the Greens SOOOOO interesting.

i get if you don't wanna drag this convo out so feel free to ignore but the thing (from my pov) abt shannon is that she's one of the more complex characters. that's what makes her interesting! the nuance is why there's so much to talk about there! but being a good character is not the same as being a good person/mom. and the urge to flatten her into solely a victim of circumstance is 100% a fanon brain thing that imho stems from 1) eddie's unreliable narration of their relationship 2) her underutilization as a character before her death and 3) run of the mill misogyny which assumes every woman has some inherent maternal instinct that precludes them from being a shitty parent of their fault. i may find shannon an interesting character but as a "person" i don't! she was a bad and ableist mom and didn't want to take full accountability for her actions (comparing her abandonment to eddie's service. again unreliable narration is interesting but still unreliable!)

and yeah i think it's very interesting how people talk about shannon as a Woman and Mother because like. i think oftentimes people want to make her good as like an attempt at feminism yknow but they ultimately just flatten her into Good Mom when actually pretty much the only thing we know for sure about shannon is that she abandoned her kid for two years and said really gross weird shit about his disability. like almost everything else we know about her is shown to us through eddie's rose-tinted glasses.

and i do think that's genuinely So interesting like the fact that eddie gives her the Blurry Dead Wife treatment but we actually know as audience members that she was a bad mom/didn't want to be a mom and wanted a divorce is SO INTERESTING!! but alas... fandom brain.

Alrighty, first thoughts on Metaphor Refantazio.

The demo is damn good. They gave us a really nice little chunk of the game. Spoilers to follow, since I'm talking about the whole thing and speculating.

Gut feeling first thoughts off the cuff, Strohl's VA understood the assignment, damn. Gonna be hard pressed to do an awakening cooler. Hope he doesn't outshine anyone else.

Would like the church guy to not be a fucker. “Evil church” is a little overdone in jrpgs these days. I could vibe with an actually chill priest with some shitty subordinates.

Just by existing, Louis draws Griffith parallels, and I hope that they actually knew that when creating him. He's got necromancer subordinates, so he definitely seems likely to be even more shady than just starting a coup.

Hulkenburg is interesting, but not necessarily the sort of character I go for. She is for someone though, since my partner is obviously feral for the “duty bound knight” trope.

Since we're not in persona land anymore, I truly hope we see some more permanent party divides as ideologies change. I can totally see Strohl deciding to go his own way, for example, and even supporting him in doing so.

Why does More have my name? That's not gonna come back in a wild reveal or anything. More is fun. Miss Igor. Miss fusion in general. Hope Archetype evolution is a good replacement.

Love synthesis attacks. Especially the one that triggers an extra turn pip if it kills. Love overworld passives that give mana on overworld kill.

Multi target magic being pretty synthesis heavy is really neat.

i rewatched inspector gadget 2 again and i’m in shambles. the pacing is really good. that’s such a treat because bad pacing in movies is one of my top peeves so i love that IG2 gave us that! also gadget and G2’s dynamic is SOOOO cool godddd i love them so much. they’re written so well. G2 is very strange and autistic. not your run of the mill love interest at all. she’s portrayed perfectly imo and i love how her character changes over the movie but it’s not overbearing; just the right amount.

she always remains very robotic and logical throughout the movie, and when she does show affection towards gadget it’s very in keeping with her personality. they didn’t fumble her like i was worried they might, which is so refreshing.

that one scene where gadget and penny emerge from the smoke and G2 realizes they survived the explosion is SO important to me. she’s just so happy to see them alive, so she greets gadget excitedly and gives him a chaste and awkward hug, which he is too stunned to reciprocate. it’s just,,, PERFECT,,, it feels so sincere and sweet! the movie handles their relationship SO well and it’s all i could have asked for and more.

AND ANOTHER THING. when gadget sneaks in and reactivates G2, that scene is so touching to me. she’s amazed that she’s still alive and asks him why he saved her. gadget tells her that he admires her skills, a little nervous because it’s hard not to outright confess his crush. which is cute. but i really love the scene because she catches on instantly, smiling and thanking him for reviving her. it’s soft, they don’t rush into a kiss or anything, and for maybe the first time in the movie the two seem to genuinely be on the same page - no drama or tension, they’re just happy to see each other. i think that moment kind of lays the foundation for their friendship honestly.

we get a kiss at the end, which i 100000% enjoyed call me a sap idc. it was adorable and they deserved it. i just like that, all things considered, their relationship was not rushed [despite gadget being head over heels from the beginning] and i like that his crush on her didn’t seem like his only motivation for helping or saving her. it was certainly up front, but he respected her. he’s stupid at the best of times and has little concept of personal space but at no moment did their interactions feel forced or uncomfortable, i guess i should say.

like, i can’t stop thinking about Movie Set of the original series, where . i don’t even want to get into it 😭 that episode is INSANE. but i’m just saying. IG2 handled the love interest perfectly imo and didn’t feel forced or icky, like some scenes with gadget and lana for example. gadget having the hots for G2 was immediately established and constantly built on for comedic effect, but he treated her with respect and offered kindness to her in moments of vulnerability [scene where chief quimbly says they’re shutting her down] without a hint of ulterior motive. he wants to be her friend and partner. it makes me get out of my seat and whoop and cheer. whatever man i love robots

OH AND FORGOT TO MENTION BUT 💥💥💥 in the scene where G2 is first revealed, i LOVE that at the moment quimbly says “she’s 100% robot!” gadget goes into a ridiculous daydream about her LMAOOO it’s just so vital to me that he wants this weird robot gal. she is so unnatural and weird and i love that this not only seems to not bother gadget, but even be part of the charm..? I'm reading Houseki No Kuni I'm in chapter 49 and I have to talk some of my thougths until now.

Its interesting to me how they change the end of the anime puting Cinnabar instead of the Amethysts to save Fos, I'll be honest, i prefere in the anime. And despite everything, i do think they could follow the same line as the maga even with this difference, but i would like to see something new, but at the same time i really want to see the manga in an anime so... i mean, its not like they're going to bring back the anime out of nothing, those are just expeculations and opinions of mine.

Ghost Quartz and Peridot do not appear in the anime, like, i dindn't saw them even as background character. Sad, i like them. I felt so so bad when they got Ghost... poor Gorm :(

:OOO!! Hey there Anon! Thank you so much for asking! As someone autistic I've been waiting for the opportunity to write something like this! You've absolutely got the gears in my brain working.

Note - I'm going to be basing these primarily on mine and some friends experiences with Autism. These may not align with everyone, and that's alright.

For starters, this man would do absolutely amazingly with a neurodivergent partner. I'm partially saying this because I think he has a touch of neurodivergence himself, but also because he seems like he'd be willing to be accommodating once he's sat down and talked to about some of your issues. He'd be confused at first, but he'd realize the two of you have more of a common ground than he first assumed.

He'd do a significant bit of research once being told you're autistic. He doesn't want to seem ignorant, and he wants to better understand how to accommodate for your needs. Of course, he'd probably just ask you upfront since he understands everyone's different with different needs and whatnot.

For starters, he completely understand getting so interested in something it's all you talk about. He'd be more than willing to hear about your fixations and interests. In fact, he'd be the type of man to buy you things pertaining to some niche topic you brought up then be like "oh. I just happened to remember you liked this character! Consider it a lucky surprise?" He also enjoys casually bringing up things related to your interest and watching you go off about it.

If you're not a fan of large crowds, that's cool. He enjoys large gatherings, especially since they're good for business! But he can absolutely understand how easy it is to become burnt out by them. He can recall countless times at Joja Block Parties in which he had to step away due to the commotion. He'd be sure to keep track of short-cuts in busier parts of Zuzu City so that you don't have to deal with tons of people.

Loud noises absolutely overwhelm him, even if he doesn't want to admit it. It's a weak point of his. He much prefers the quieter things in life, and being somewhere too loud and boisterous can offset his thoughts, leaving him all disoriented and disgruntled. He completely understands having to walk away from somewhere due to it being too loud and will absolutely surprise you with noise cancelling headphones.

One thing I feel he'd have some difficulty getting used to is if you're clingy. I've mentioned this in a prior post, but he reminds me of a cat in terms of how he warms up to others. It'd take some time for him to get used to you wanting to be against him or wanting to cuddle him or anything like that. But once he's warmed up to your physical advances, he'd be more than happy to allow you to lounge against him while he does his work/while he reads. He'd also be more than happy to hold you against him while he does things, or carry you around if he's able to.

Once he's used to being physically affectionate with you, he'd be so down to laying on top of you if you like that sort of thing. Free weighted plush!

If you don't like affection? That's perfectly fine with him. He's more than capable of being affectionate in other ways, as his main love language pertains moreso toward gift-giving and quality time. Plus, it's hard for him to warm up to physical affection as well, he understands.

He is the world's loudest advocate for parallel play. He would love doing productive while you're doing something else and hearing your input/giving his own input on what you're doing. He finds it one of the nicest ways of bonding with you. Silent acknowledgement of one anothers presence...

He would 100000% understand not liking touching certain textures. Just looking at store-bought slime brings shivers up and down his spine and makes him break into a sweat. Hell, he couldn't even stock those towelettes Joja stocked back when he was a mere grunt due to how horrible they felt to him. He'd take careful note of what you do and don't like touching and then be sure to buy gifts and things that fall under positive textures for you only.

One thing I think would also confuse him would be food aversions. He's never experienced issues with any sort of food. He's had a few dislikes, but he isn't particularly picky. (Not to mention he's been desensitized by microwaveable joja meals) He doesn't quite understand the whole unable to eat something due to the texture thing, nor does he understand gagging due to the scent of something. But he'd try his best to accommodate to you. He'd start carrying your comfort foods in his home, and he'd try to eat food that set off your aversions away from you. That way, you both would be able to eat together and he'd still be able to eat what he wants.

He doesn't get stimming at first but he'll try his best to accommodate for your needs. Joja sells stim toys! Look at that cute clicky worm thing! He can get plenty! Once they end up breaking after barely any use, he buys ones from actually refutable brands. One benefit in you stimming is him realizing just how relaxing it is to sit down and do similar.

He can find himself getting a little easily irritated over things being said poorly, but once you explain to him that its hard for you to control your tone or the way you phrase things, he starts asking for clarification when he's confused.

He can be very passive aggressive or sarcastic toward others. But toward you, he'll keep himself and his mouth in check. Especially if you don't pick up on either well.

Schedule changes do not happen with this man. You never have to worry about being put off track unless it's something out of his hands. He is always on time, no sooner, no later. This man adores daily routines too, and knowing you like predictability leaves him the ability to continue following his usual routine without much issue. If and when he can't stick to the usual, however, he tries to give a heads up.

If and when you go mute, he entirely understands and tries not to force you to talk. Though, I imagine the first time it happened he was absolutely startled. He was worried he did something and that he was being given silent treatment. Or that something had happened to you. Once you explained it to him later, however, he understood. If you're able to, he often hands you a board to write with. If you're not able to, he just sits with you and does whatever you want to, or just does his work and lets you lean against him.

If he notices you're overwhelmed he does everything he can to take you out of the situation, even if you end up dejected over the fact he left for the sake of you. If the two of you are at a company wide party and you start to get noticeably burnt out he'll find an excuse to leave. If you two are at a restaurant or something and you're starting to get more jittery he'll ask if you'd like to make your meals take out and head out. If ever you voice you're worried you're ruining your outings together due to this, he'll cup your face with his hand (if you like physical touch) and reassure you otherwise.

He loves you to bits ultimately, and he wants the absolute best for you. He'd probably check in constantly to make sure you're alright.

Actually a really good ship, I don't know why people keep on saying it's a toxic/unhealthy ship, the only reasons they say is that they lie to each other,Amity somehow "hurts" Luz and never gives her a proper apology...? Im sorry but it's fucking stupid, there's other reasons but I don't remember them, I gave it a 9/10 because it's okay, nothing astonishing or amazing, just good wlw rep and that's all that matters

It's a really cool ship, but I was confused on the whole is Eda bisexual or pansexual thing cause she's confirmed bisexual but Raines non binary...and now supposedly bisexual people can be attracted to non binary people??? It's just hella confusing to me, but that's a topic on it's own for a different time, I really like how they developed and definitely TTBK was and is one of my favorite episodes

4. Veesha 8/10

It's actually canon that Vee has a crush on Masha and thats all I need to know...GAHHH IT'S SUCH A CUTE SHIP!! Really cool thing how Dana is adding some much non binary characters in the show (NOT including the collector cause he's demiboy NOT non binary, there's a huge ass difference) wish there could have been some development/hints in the WAD, sadly not, but that doesn't mean it won't be confirmed!

5. Gustholomule 8/10

By far one of my ships but sadly not on the top 3,yet again, needed more hints, especially in s2a cause Gus and Matty had more screen time and interactions together,and I love how the fandom just agreed Matty was gay, and not to mention the friendship with Matty and Amity

6. Belpaw 10000/10

this is a joke ship between Belos and springtrap/William Afton from fnaf but it's absolutely fucking hilarious to me and I love it

Now, time to go under the surface, here are some ships that some people know/ship but not much people do, and the further I go we'll get to the more...problematic ships, yet again, don't get mad at me for my opinions

1. Lunter -100/10

Please block this account immediately if you ship lunter I CANNOT STAND THIS SHIP!!! Sure, they had some pretty decent chemistry and interactions with each other, but it just won't work! There's no use in shipping a character with a canon love interest/already dating someone and just choosing to ignore it and ship them anyway, PLUS FOR THOSE SHIPPERS WHO ACTUALLY GOT FUCKING MAD CAUSE IT DIDN'T BECOME CANON I'M ACTUALLY SHITTING BRICKS ON HOW FUCKING STUPID THAT WAS 💀💀💀💀 plus Willows a canon love interest to Hunter, Zeno, HUNTERS VA, literally changed his name to Hunter noceda, and no it's not wlw erasure, but if you acknowledge the fact that lumity is canon, if you acknowledge the fact Dana put her hardwork and effort trying to get a same sex couple in a kid's show which literally got it CANCELLED, and still ship it, disrespectfully shut the fuck up, lunter would be canon if FUCKING NETFLIX MADE TOH 😭😭😭

2. Huntric/Huntmira -100000/10

I. Hate. This. Ship. I put them together cause I didn't want to make seperate sections for it, now you're gonna read me rant on how much I fucking despise this ship, number one, EDRIC IS FUCKING DATING SOMEONE, no interactions (only one with Edric but none with Emira) the mfs literally degraded him in labyrinth runners, no chemistry whatsoever, its overall just not worth your time, and I'm not a toxic huntlow stan, no I won't force the ship on you, however I will block you because I don't want that shit on my feed, same goes for lunter and the other ships I'm gonna mention

3. Luz x Willow, Amity, or all of them together 5/10

Ngl, it's not that bad of a ship, actually really cute, but I couldn't see it happening in the show given that lumity is already canon, plus we should normalize healthy friendships between two girls, not everyone needs to be shipped and the toh community has a huge fucking problem with that, plus this also goes for Amity x Willow as well

4. Camila x Eda (i dunno the official ship name 😭😭😭) 5/10

It's mid, I SAID IT I SAID IT!!! *hides in bed* I'm sorry the ship is mid, raeda is canon already and they didn't have any dialogue, interactions,chemistry together only other than people want Camila to date/marry someone,and the only part when they actually meet is in WAD and that one picture of Eda showing Camila the Apple blood, other than that it's meh, eh, mid

5. Boscha x literally anyone -1000/10

Disrespectfully shut the fuck up if you ship boschlow, boschmity, or boschluz, THESE ARE EXTREMELY TOXIC SHIPS AND YOU'VE PROBABLY NEVER EVEN WATCHED WING IT LIKE WITCHES OR THE ENTIRE FIRST SEASON OF TOH, YOU MUST HAVE SEVERE BRAIN DAMAGE IF YOU THOUGHT THIS WAS OKAY, Boscha is literally their bully, IT'S NOT THE ENEMIES TO LOVERS STORY YOU WANT POOKIE, the only one that isn't as severe is boschmity, that one, unlike the other ships isn't as bad cause boscha genuinely likes Amity and if you watched FTF you'd know why, plus boscha must had have the fattest crush on Amity, but the only boscha ship good is Boschbria (Boscha x Bria)

6. Veenter 10-/10

No...why must I have come to this...NOOO!!! okay, first off, ima just put this in the most direct, black and white, simple way, it fucking sucks, no interactions that support the ship, no chemistry, like I said, I'm a raging Huntlow stan, this ship is unacceptable, plus I like found...a potential r34 comic of them BUT WE DON'T NEED TO KNOW THAT HAHAH....oh fucking god...

Glam x Chive - I think they may had some small romantic relationship in the past. But it's not what I would call a permanent relationship. ( tbh I have a small headcanon that Chive and Glam could flirt with each other when they are drunk lol.) I like them together but prefers their relationship more as brothers/best friends! 6/10

my Scooby Doo opinions:

• i don’t like Guess Who. i’ve only ever seen 1 episode in full (the first one) and i thought that was decent. but i don’t like the rest of it after seeing some other clips from the show so far.

• i think the Loch Ness Monster movie is underrated. maybe not AS underrated as other movies but i don’t think it gets talked about enough in the fandom. also it’s one of the best DTV movies

• my opinion on Scrappy is that i am indifferent to him but i think his design is cute. that being said, i love and support all of my mutuals who love him and i will ALWAYS back them up 100000% no questions asked.

• the artstyle for Be Cool definitely fits the tone of the series well and it makes sense that it was used for that series. also i think Velma’s voice fits that series and that version of Velma well too

• Wendy Airs should come back one day and i think her relationship with Daphne in high school should be explored a bit more. i think we should see some flashbacks of them together when they were in high school and how they play a part in the present maybe

• Dapper Jack Rogers is one of the best characters in this franchise and is one of the best members of Shaggy’s family

• the Where Are You Now special was bad and i didn’t care for it

• i hated straight outta nowhere i thought it was bad. i couldn’t even get through the whole thing i had to skip scenes. and it’s NOT because of courage or anything related to him (i have respect for the Courage characters) it’s just a me thing.

• ALL of the gang members are the heart of the group because each and every one of them have so much love for each other as individuals and as a group, the group wouldn’t be what it is without any of them, and they all bring something equally important to the group.

• i’m so tired of crossovers ESPECIALLY Batman crossovers. i don’t have anything against Batman personally it’s just i think we need to stop with the crossovers for a while.

• we don’t need a 3rd James Gunn live action movie

• we don’t need a 3rd season of SDMI. the series is over and has been over for the past 10 years. there’s nothing left for the story, why would it get a 3rd season after all this time?

• people in the fandom need to stop getting mad for the wrong reasons or about things that don’t matter. i’ve seen this happen with some Scooby accounts that use to be my favs on instagram and it’s SOOO annoying.

• the 13 Ghosts series had one of the best and most interesting plots in the whole franchise. am i biased because i am a 13 Ghosts stan myself? NO!

• Scoobynatural was awful and one of the worst Scooby specials ever made.

anderson: LITERALLY MY FAV CHARACTER ARC IN THE SERIES . the way him and alucard's arcs intertwine with eachother . god . always a sucker for characters with themes around humanity . helena's nail arc permanently changed me as a man

seras: ALSO LOVED IT SO.... line about humanity themes also applies here . generally i think it couldve been better if pip was more developed since most of her development happens because of his death but i generally loved it and i love her

integra: i feel like she had less of an arc than the above 3 but i still love her character so much . integra im so insane about you but i couldnt put any of that into words if i had 100000 year to do so

the major: his was interesting sort of but i dont Like him as a character . you get me . all of millennium's arcs are fascinating (on varying levels) to me but i dont Enjoy any of their characters . you know . they did fine with his arc though . the robot twist was kinda just shoehorned in there i feel but it gave us the whole humanity monologue so its fine

i plan for this one to be cute and fun! the title ‘falling behind’ is from the song by laufey!!

“everybody’s falling in love and i’m falling behind” will 100000% represent carlisle as he will be the only one in the family without a soulmate (until faye comes in)

faye is harboring a big secret (you could probably guess what) and you shouldn’t underestimate her…

i plan for faye to have the best relationship with emmett and jasper!

i still haven’t fully planned out her backstory but i’ll try to make it as interesting as possible

from eden (mikaelson men x female!oc)

this one is going to be a bit different from my other books

for starters, the main character (amara) is borderline insane

like she is not a good person, and she knows that. she will be obsessed with the mikaelsons, and will do anything to have them to herself

amara is a devil worshipper, so this book will be more dark then my others!

with that being said; the mikaelsons will be just as obsessed with her as she is with them!!

amara is a super super super powerful witch!! and i’m so excited to start writing this one :)

Snippets from a REALLY long convo I had with my friend Cinna (@/cinnamononions) who was reacting to the YGO DM manga.

It was mainly us going over the Kaiba centric scenes in YGO DM: Death-T arc, and she noted differences in the Finnish TL vs. Viz's official EN TL. I haven't posted that yet. I'll put it in a future post

The convo’s really long so I’ll mainly just post the Magi: JuAli tangent part of our big convo for now.

There's some YGO DM: KaiYami and YGO: GX JohaJu rambles and misc rambles from other series sprinkled in though.

I wanted to compare this Magi: JuAli omake between the fan-TL and Viz's official EN TL.

(+) Usually more accurate in meaning

(+) I personally prefer the prose and wording, especially for important scenes

(-) Readable, but the text and pages aren't as clean obviously cuz they were scanned directly from the magazines at the time of Magi's release, so you can't see art details very well

(-) Fan-TL team had to figure out how to translate the names and terms, etc. So the names change overtime, and the fan scan team eventually adjusts to the most commonly accepted spellings

Viz (Official TL)

(+) Has higher res HD scans and much cleaner pages to see all the details of Ohtaka's art

(+) Well professional and sounds more natural, which is also interesting

(+) Typesetting is much better since it's done by professional typesetters rather than a hobbyist team of fans

(+/-) Consistency with how terms are translated, but they also choose really weird spellings tbh

(+/-) Viz's TL is ok. The translation generally gets the point across.

(+/-) Generally translates terms (ie. attack names) to English More distanced from the OG text in terms of meaning

(+/-) Character's speech styles can get lost with how Viz translates things though

(+/-) Often cuts dialogue shorter so it can fit within the speech bubbles, so Viz's TL often loses the full context for these lines

Me: Also first off I'm gonna start with my rambles that I genuinely prefer the fan-TL for this JuAli omake.

Alibaba's tone in his dialogue generally being much more calmer and softer and empathetic towards Judar (and thus, capturing the original intended meaning and tone much more closely to the OG JP version) is something I 100000% prefer. It feels more fitting to his chara.

Like WOOOOW the way Alibaba's "You seem rather spoiled and pampered, Judar," turns into "What a spoiled brat!" In Viz's version, does change the tone and way it comes across.

It loses the air of humbleness and maturity that his character has, late-Kou Empire arc and beyond

Me: What I cannot stand about Viz's prose is that they make everyone sound the same too. Their way of translating dialogue is so samey sounding. And it's not really the first time that a Viz official TL feels harsher. Like, a lot of softer nuances in charas' speech pattern just gets flat out erased in Viz's official TLs and it annoys me sm.

C: Yeah this is such a Viz thing, god. YGO DM’s Finnish TL still has this issue but at least like. Yugi and Jonouchi use different first person pronouns, etc. Subtle differences.

Me: RIGHT like I've seen tons of series officially localized by Viz and it's so typical of Viz's official TLs /neg

Me: Magi's official TL by Viz is fine, thank god. YGO DM and DGM by Viz are decent at least. My childhood series, KHR and MMBN/EXE were absolutely butchered by Viz's awful official EN TLs by them, tho, holy shit...

Also out of big manga EN localizers, my preferences for TL quality goes like this: Yen Press >>>>>> Kodansha >> Viz

Judar's gay tsundere ass LMFAO 😭

Gay and a menace to women!

In the original, Judar just calls him haniwa ("Clay doll") but in the Viz version it's Sausage. LMAO

Like, one example that comes to mind for me is how Viz translates the JuAli scenes in the Kou Empire arc. Like their meeting on the Dark Continent with Judar and haniwa (clay doll) Alibaba.

Summary: Due to plot/story reasons, Alibaba is currently a sausage shaped haniwa (clay doll) like OoO and travelling with Judar.

Like it makes Alibaba's tone come off WAY different... Like he obviously has this air of humbleness and maturity to him, late Kou Empire arc and beyond, and it’s especially apparent in his scenes with Judar. But it loses that nuance with Viz's version.

The Viz TL is much less softer compared to the OG which is much softer in tone.

Can't say I'm a fan of how Viz translated this compared to the fan-TL tbh but it's. Ok. You get the gist of it. At least now I have Ohtaka's omake extra comics in HD though. I do appreciate Viz’s TL for that. It’s interesting to see cuz officials TLs almost always have more natural sounding liberal English, while fan-Tls are typically more literal and more accurate in meaning.

Yeah this is how I feel about Viz's Magi. I surprisingly like most of it. Tho tbf Magi already has banger dialogue as a story/narrative, so it explains it. You can’t really ruin goated text unless you translate it really badly.

The way some lines are translated is just grrr though. It's fun to see Magi translated in more liberal English and I like it. It's generally fine. But yeah, as you said, Cinna, it's distanced from the OG text in terms of the meaning. I like how we have access to the high quality scans of Ohtaka's art for seeing details. The typesetting and fonts are better.

But I prefer the fan TL cuz it's closer to the OG text and more accurate in meaning. And I prefer the wording and prose tbh

Also the other thing is that EN official TLs usually have to shorten the length of the lines so it can fit within the speech bubbles (which is understandable). They get the point across fine, but lose the full context of dialogue lines. But I like reading good fan-TLs cuz they usually give me the full context that the original text intended.

Fan-TL

(+) I personally prefer the prose and wording, especially for important scenes

(-) Readable, but the text and pages aren't as clean obviously cuz they were scanned directly from the magazines at the time of Magi's release, so you can't see art details very well

(-) Fan-TL team had to figure out how to translate the names and terms, etc. So the names change overtime, and the fan scan team eventually adjusts to the most commonly accepted spellings

(+) Has higher res HD scans and much cleaner pages to see all the details of Ohtaka's art

(+) Well professional and sounds more natural, which is also interesting

(+) Typesetting is much better since it's done by professional typesetters rather than a hobbyist team of fans

(+/-) Consistency with how terms are translated, but they also choose really weird spellings tbh

(+/-) Viz's TL is ok. The translation generally gets the point across.

Judai is YGO GX's protag and Johan is his best friend who he immediately got along well with. They developed great synergy.

In YGO GX, when Yubel, the agender Duel Monster who wants to "take back Judai," possesses Johan, and duels Judai, they say, "You're actually aching with someone you love… How come you weren't this serious when I was the one involved?"

And in the series it explicitly spells out that Yubel acknowledges that the "love that Judai gave to her past self/reincarnation is now for Johan."

But YGO GX still goes the cheap route of not confirming any ships/not going with any canon ships, not with Johan, or Asuka who is the token femme love interest.

At first I didn’t really care for Eris because of the whole deal with what happened with Mor, but now he’s kinda growing on me. I’m not fully there yet, but we’re getting there lol. The main reason for me why it’s taking me this long to LOVE Eris is because no one is telling the truth about what happened between him and Mor. It’s very open right now if that makes sense.

Both him and Mor are hiding shit about what happened that day between them. I’m not putting the blame on one more than the other. I don’t think either of them are to blame for what happened but it could’ve been handled better in my opinion.

And sometimes trauma, can make your memory fuzzy and blurry. When I was SA’d, over time that memory became blurry and started to blend together. Adrenaline and shock are crazy ass drugs that can affect many things in your body including you mind. Meaning that, with what happened with Mor, her adrenaline and shock from that situation could’ve cause her memory to blend together or caused her to black out and not remember certain things happening.

Like I said, neither Mor or Eris is not at fault. The ones people should be really pissed at is Beron and Keir. They are the ones who practically sold Eris and Mor to be together. The ones who put those nails in Mor’s stomach were people from the Court of Nightmares.

If I remember correctly most of Mor’s trauma and SA from that incident sounds like it came from the Court of Nightmares, before Eris found her in the Autumn woods. I understand why Eris left her there because if he had touched her, they would be stuck together, but there could’ve been another way to go about that whole situation.

Sorry for my rant lol. And once again, I like Eris and he’s growing on me but it’s taking time. He’s definitely an interesting character that I can’t wait to learn more about. And Mor is wonderful, I connect with her because I am also a victim of SA. And I know it’s a fictional story but I hate it when people lack basic reading comprehension.

I totally, totally understand this! I think SJM has left the situation open for later books and hopefully, HOPEFULLY, the truth finally comes out. But yes it is truly aggravating not to know yet what all happened.

The situation definitely could have been better handled but I think that is what makes Eris such a morally gray character. Idk if other people seen him like Rhys in terms of character development but that’s exactly what it reminds me of! Some choices Eris makes are awful, some are out of his control, and some are good. It’s what makes characters more human and more complex in my opinion!

And yes you’re absolutely right about Keir and Beron! My theory, which again is my own, is that Eris didn’t touch her because Beron would’ve done so much worse to her. And Keir and her family torturing and SA in the court of nightmares is obviously 100000 different shades of fucked up but they are very much to blame for everything.

I’m so sorry you have been through that. Is truly something that changes you as a person and I hope you’re healing. It’s a constant uphill battle but know that you are loved and it does not defy you. I’m so glad Mor is a character you can deeply connect with as I truly believe stories like these help us in many ways!
