The Future of Jikook

After watching the video and GMA soundcheck performance on Friday and then seeing all the contradictory reactions on line to the song and its reception, I have been quietly mulling things over here in my little corner of the internet.

There are so many fan feelings conflating here. Those who want JK to turn into the BTS Harry Styles, those who are still smarting over the way changes to BB affected the trajectory of FACE, those who feel that the breakout of one member is a threat to ever seeing BTS as a band again. It makes for a tense, emotional and chaotic time on-line especially on Twitter where people tend to have a knee jerk reaction to anything that is said and nuance is completely lost.

Look into yourself and I am sure you will find a whole load of contradictory emotions lapping at your consciousness right now. What I have found myself thinking however, is how does all this noise affect the members and in particular Jimin and Jungkook?

Making Choices

One question that came to mind was why did Jungkook pick this song for his solo debut. What is it that he likes about it and how does that differ from the way SB sees or is marketing the song. During Festa 2023 I commented on the transformation that JK has been through since last year. He has made a conscious effort to shake off the maknae part of the golden maknae starting with his deal with Calvin Klein and all the swooning I am seeing on Tumblr shows that he has succeeded. As Yoongi said, JK is all grown up.

Then I was thinking about JK's musical choices, who and what he listens to and I remembered earlier this year he sang the Sam Smith and Kim Petras hit Unholy on one of his lives. If you also recall he later scolded Jimin for being prudish about the song on his own live.

JK was obviously ready to move into more explicit territory even then. So what about Seven made him think this is the song that launches me as the new and more mature JK.

I think for one thing, the lyrics are sensual and not gender specific. I am in the "loving you right" lyric camp because it gives a more mutual gratification feel to the song in keeping with the other lyrics as opposed to the macho stud, I'm a sex machine, version.

Jungkook wants to ease his lover's mind, he want to trace their lines, he loves how they wrap around him when they make love, he is devoted, his love runs deep and when they are together he wants to make sure his lover is satisfied and feeling that afterglow.

So yes JK is going to be talking about sex from now on along with almost everyone else in the Western music industry. Along with Jimin for example. As a side note, I still don't quite understand my overwhelmingly visceral reaction to the Like Crazy MV. It's f**king art and so is he.

Now SB and his cronies know the audience they are playing to and we will get symbolically het videos both for this and what is rumoured to be his completely English speaking solo album but even this video, which to be honest I have dumped in favour of the live performance and the choreo video, went for humour rather than full out fangirl wish fulfillment. I mean that may also come but I get the feeling that somewhere down the line they are going to need to pivot hard.

What do jikook want?

Secondly, I was thinking what do jikook want both severally and individually. All the members have an enviable work ethic and a deep love of music but the emphasis that these two and JHope put on performance is legendary. Look at Jimin here monitoring between shoots for his music shows in the behind the scenes video this week. He is serious about giving his best even when he himself is not in the best physical condition.

They are both ambitious and are looking for longevity in the industry and importantly, and prefacing this with an, in my opinion, this is something they want to do together. Neither wants the other to get left behind and I think that is what they are fighting for right now.

Whatever you think about their bond, it cannot be dismissed and the sequence of events of the last few weeks for me just reinforces that. Everyone noticed the way their relationship was highlighted in the Beyond the Story book (just started my copy yesterday but I couldn't resist the spoilers last week) to the extent that Variety went on a fishing expedition which JK expertly deflected.

Jimin is in New York right now and Jikook were seen dining together the night he arrived. We don't know what Jimin's schedule is but we can assume that he will take advantage of the visit to also support Jungkook as he has done with the other members when his schedule allowed. Jungkook is important to Jimin and vice versa.

Has everyone already forgotten the amount of promo that JK has done for Jimin over the last few months. Here he is listening to JKIVE's Golden Hour who we later found out was collaborating with Jimin on Angel Parts I and II.

So this is the perspective that I am going to adopt from here on in when I react to content. I am going to ask myself does my reaction help or hinder jikook in being able to continue working together towards their aim of further success in the music industry. I will veto anything designed to drive a wedge between them, be that from the company or the fans and I will continue to work hard for them in the way that a fan can buying, streaming and supporting their music and their content. There is even word on the grapevine that there maybe some jikook collaboration and/or content on the way. I'll be watching out for that.

We decided to replace DELTARUNE: CHAPTERS REATOMIZED with a WIP Shift AU that has a couple Deltarune characters in original roles. It has some SwapSpin inspiration and some StoryShift inspiration, specifically the roles papyrus and sans are in. What does that mean? You'll have to wait and see!

What's Terra been up to?

“It’s Terra again! I’m on vacation right now, but we’ve got a decent amount of content done. We’ve had a couple songs finished in the last week, and Alter and I have been planning out the SoulBlast opening sequence. I might not make it the first thing we do dialogue-wise as it’s super ambitious and big, although I had a really cool idea as of how to “realize it”. I don’t know if I’ll go forward with this idea, but who knows. That’s all I have to say for now, peace!”

“Hey, I’m back with another newsletter section! I’ve decided to do one every other week (mostly because of my current work pace, and also because Alter doesn’t necessarily entirely equal SoulBlast), but here we are again! As for what I’ve been up to…well, not a whole lot, to be blunt. I’ve been away on vacation after vacation, trip after trip…kinda doing some small work off and on, but nothing too crazy, and likely not until mid-June or so, when I get back from this big trip I’m on now. Not too much has been going on in the SP!Deltaswap (AKA CandlelitSeal (if you’re interested, DM me for more info!)) field, though I’ve been putting together a few last minute ideas and laying everything out for myself to track my progress. Preparing for some dialogue revisions too, alongside the designs for the rest of the main cast. SoulBlast-wise…not much either, though I’ve been helping out a bit with the intro sequence (which may or may not been teased somewhere in this newsletter) and some tiny logo tweaks. With that, though, I’ll quit my yapping, as there’s plenty of other (probably more important) content to be getting to.”

i feel morbidly curious since i've been looking at old sb art and stuff, what was the original story/first draft like? story-wise and character-wise? again, just curious

The original first draft, version 0.001, pre-alpha, unrendered version of Stormbite was a hot mess, but there are still some anachronisms of it in the published version because I loved messing around with it in its raw form.

RIP Version 0.001 - Circa. 2012~

The first version was written by an angsty, unknowingly asexual, hyper stressed, nerd-ass teenager full of spite filled ambition, who had a little book/art club of other nerds who were into art, manga, video games, hyperfixations on birds, mushrooms, fish, and all other niche Ology zones, that they wanted to entertain and please. We all liked sci-fi and fantasy, non-human protagonists, were all raging angrily about how a certain series was going and the state of YA fiction at the time (it was those dark 2009-2013 years where all YA fiction was paranormal romance love triangle bullshit).

Because I was full of spiteful ambitious rage, and it was not my first rodeo in deciding to make a creative project of some kind, I decided to do my own story/comic with some characters created by my nerd club friends.

It was entirely what you'd expect of a teenager who did not fear cringe and was just wanting a good time to entertain friends. Plots were flexible abstract things, and canons were loose. Ships passed in the night, and AU's were golden and hyper modifiable to fit any scenario or adaptation. There was no lore or world rules, it was a free for all.

I managed to get through almost 20 pages of colouring this super rough comic, and doing what is essentially still the first chapter without really doing a script or any forethought into what happens next. Version 0.001's remnants still exist in chapters 1-5 and that is it, everything else after that came later when I decided that drawing took too long, and writing was faster and easier to change. Drawing out thumbnails of scenes did help in writing what happened and how a fight played out however.

The original versions of the characters however:

Storm had the full anime works: She had a split personality with colour changing, glowing eyes, possessed by the spirit of her dead twin, a metal collar that couldn't be taken off, lightning and frost powers, nerdy t-shirts and converse.

Kat was originally a blonde-haired blue eyed white girl, with blue jay wings which changed. Her tail was cut off, she was a trained assassin who wore revealing ninja outfits, her and Amell was meant to be a thing.

Beth had a pet owl called Harrold who was a spy for her, wore a cavaliers hat and was a self-proclaimed technomancer who could hack anything and control technology, was cheerful and helpful, had all of her limbs, and was obsessed with blueberry muffins.

Wilny was pasty emo boy with scraggy hair and much greener wings. Also he could actually stop time rather than mess with perceptions to make it feel as though time has stopped.

Amell was a skinny, lanky dude, greek rather than kiwi, and had blue eyes, and could lift a car in flight.

Comet was more of a main character with a kind of disturbing backstory, long hair, reality manipulation powers

Raoul was a wolf-girl before she became Asena and Raoul his own person. Palmer didn't really fully exist.

Malana is more or less the same, but was meant to have horns at one point and was created in Risio but was a reject.

Sabre & Fell were generic bad guys. Rex was a good guy.

There was also a lot of other characters who either have been recycled into other minor characters (ex. Rai, Asena, the Varren group ((that was the first rodeo)) or Roux) or have been lost to time and cut completely.

Of course, time goes on, you grow and change, develop and redevelop both what you like, how you work, what you can do and prefer, so of course it evolved a lot more and there was a lot of changes along the way.

Personally, I think they all look a lot better now.

This one is Engelbert Humperdinck where he sings duets with all those other singers, I listened to this as a teen and it's just great to listen to hehe.

This one is 平凡之路 (ping fan zhi lu -- “ordinary road”). I think it's a song, not an album. I really really love that song. the singer is nostalgic, talking about that time when he used to be proud and ambitious, seeking fame, and used to have everything, but then after going through life (and losing many things) he realizes that "ordinary" is the answer. idk, it's just so poetic and i love it alot, the melody is also great!

This is actually a cdrama that I recently watched, and since I like all the osts from this cdrama i decided to include this here and consider it an album, hahaha. There are about 4 songs in this "album", i think:

he gets a girlfriend, too, an actress a few years older than him, who doesn't mind that he doesn't have the emotional capacity or the actual physical time to be in her lap every other day, which is nice. the sex is good, objectively speaking, but they fight a lot and rumors spread when they get cast on a short-lived variety show together. fortunately, people buy into the mentor story, especially when taeyeon's legitimate debut as an actor is announced - a lead this time, no less. only filming happens this year, thankfully. promotion is a problem for next year's taeyeon.

he also starts to hear whispers of a solo debut in the works, but he's not so sure it's because they see his true potential as an individual act, what with his brand reputation being on a consistent upward trajectory, never straying far from the top ten, or if another way to bleed him dry monetarily came to them in a dream. either way, they hand him a pen and tell him to start jotting "things" down. ideas. maybe so they can go for the self-written angle, but anyway. they call it a vague someday, promising starlight in inevitability, but indigo is still young, all things considered, not even five years old, and taeyeon can barely stomach the work he does divided among four other people, so he takes it for what it is. a bone, motivation to keep eating when his plate is already full - metaphorically, of course. they keep him frail. it looks better on camera.

he writes a lot, raps a lot, sings a lot, especially when he and his girlfriend inevitably crash and burn. most of it ends up on love yourself: tear. it feels appropriate. his emotion drips over every track and blues, bless their hearts, praise him for his growth as an artist.

he starts kissing boys. fever bleeds out. he'll worry about it later.

2021 - 2022

merging in as an artist under infinite entertainment is something that is very much outside of his scope of culpability or concern, but like any competent employee, he makes it a point to get in good with the people that work with them. incidentally, he makes some of his dearest friends behind the curtain and finds that it's a lot easier to feel like lee taeyeon, just-some-guy than lee taeyeon, global idol, in modest company. modest, of course, being relative, but appropriate.

in all other aspects of his life he feels raw.

the year they're in the thick of the infinite world tour is coincidentally the year their musical identity wavers somewhat, in taeyeon's opinion. he's sure there's no correlation.

he does a lot more modeling, but also finds it pivotal to reach new heights as a dancer. it's probably the most determined and ambitious that taeyeon is in his career thus far, but is simultaneously the sickest he's ever been. he spends more of his time in places that he can grow, studios, the gym, with choreographers in as many stops as he can. he looks in the mirror and sees less and less of himself, but it all comes to a head when he passes out after one of indigo's sets.

it's a necessary wake up call when he comes to and still sees black spots swimming in front of his eyes, when pulling in breath hurts his lungs. he chooses healing, realizes that he's not any good to anybody dead. to be clear, he doesn't heal in the holistic sense, but he finds a secret thrill in doing things he shouldn't be. in the latter half of the year, he opens up some, to new people, new substances, and new experiences, and mourns a version of himself that had been deprived of living.

he looks into the mirror by the end of it all, more fulfilled and creatively nurtured than he'd been for entirely too long, and sees a softness he thought had been sculpted away, a youth that he'd be neglecting. life.

he falls in love with music again, with words, and decides to use them to make up for lost time.

in may of this year, a thread drops on twitter from an anonymous source attempting to out taeyeon, filled with "evidence" of his sexuality, including creep shots of him with various men and coming in and out of bars that cater to the lgbtq community, using his history in waacking and tutting as fodder for their claims of his "abject femininity". as it were, there's an attempt made to prove that he's in a secret relationship with a man, exacerbating rumors that have surrounded him for years. the initial strategy is to ignore it, which is to say, he's told by infinite higher ups to ignore it while they handle it legally. and, for a while, he does. but when more and more posts start popping up on different platforms, and the tone of indigo's fanbase shifts into something nasty, it stops sitting right with taeyeon and he takes it upon himself to post on instagram condemning the original poster for treating being gay like it's something dirty or immoral, explaining that he's not secretly dating anyone and that even if he were gay, it wouldn't be anyone's business or any reason to look at him any differently as an artist. he finishes his statement off by commending and recommending numerous out queer artists to his fans and reiterating that his interest is in cultivating a community of kind, open-hearted individuals, not bigots.

his post is received mostly positively, but is controversial enough that things take a pretty abrupt halt. the solo debut that he'd been working on for the better part of the last two years gets vaulted and his socials go dark. it's as good as being put in time out in idol terms, and with 2023 being indigo's least active year in their entire lifespan, he's essentially left to rot and reflect. he doesn't feel bad about it, continues to work with and endorse brands that have shown him love, and makes it a point to double down during promotions, publicly donating to various organizations. his role is notably lessened for the singular comeback they do have, but for the first time in a long time, he feels a sense of agency over himself and he realizes that living authentically where he is in his career is a real possibility, one that he has every intention of taking.

I know I said that posting the 2nd question would be the last time I terrorize the visual kei tags, but apparently it wasn't even visible through my adding it to the 1st's post's reblogs so I have to repost. NOW is the last time, cause I've had it with how posting works on tumblr at this point.

Alright this is scary, but I have to ask one more thing, cause power lies in numbers and I really want the collective's opinions. Like I am seriously shaking just trying cause like...I want you all to take this as a joke, but it's no joke for me xD. Please keep taking it as a joke cause it is indeed very ambitious.

If we had the script to at least 1 movie like that...how would you think one could possibly convince all these people work together in such a big project? Money and exposure to a larger crowd aside, I mean, cause some jrockers have money and that isn't much of an appealing reason. This question is mostly for adult fans who've had a few years in their respective fields and know how various businesses work.

It gets crazy as an idea I know, that's why I said take this lightly, but think of the just as crazy possibilities. You might ask "why, what could I possibly get out of this for helping you or throwing ideas, or even knowledge" if you are in the same field...ahm...apart from entertaintment and getting a nostalgia trip and the possibility or reviving bands that gave up because of money (cause some don't give a damn how old they are and neither should you, like, both in your own life and when pointing your fingers on people like them, we only live once, we might as well try to live how we want), well....if you are an artist of any film field you could work with your favorite artists and get precentage of the income. If you aren't an artist, well...I don't know, that's why I said it's crazy. You get to share sth that once or still matters to you with a larger crowd. You get to see "weirdness" being represented in a way that encopasses many types of people that aren't considered minorities per se but still get shat on for what they choose to wear, believe and dream. Cause like who fucking cares if you have piercings, tattoos, if you want to wear crazy clothes, a dress down the street...maybe you want people's individuality to be represented, right? Maybe you too felt pushed aside once cause of this. This is about celebrating that I mean. Being who you are no matter what.

But yeah anyway....ideas? I know btw that some jrockers have said they are into the idea of playing a role in a movie but never had the opportunity and some like the idea of being villains (Ruki and Mahiro Kurosaki being 2 examples (also in case sb wishes to bring up Mahiro's condition, no worries, every single medical condition has been taken into consideration in case this was possible, and he or anyone else agreed.).

I hear you people. All gens in, again. Any ideas, even crazy ones are acceptable. Again if such project was a thing, the bands and artists will get the most out of it. If nth comes to mind, it's ok. The answers to the first question were more than enough for science. ^^

(and yeah this is the last question, i won't be spoiling visual kei and band tags with any more nonsense scenarios after this. The reason I even made a second question was because you guys seemed interested and also because, if I take into considerations which vkei pics I post get the most notes, many of you seem to still want to see sth long gone back, even for just a little, so yeah..i think we get each other one that one. Probably not quite last-minute Z-A predictions (I mean they’re more wishes than predictions) but I wanted to share my wishlist before leak season begins

Grass starter: Grass/Fairy Meganium

Fire starter: Fire/Steel Blaziken

Water starter: Water/Fighting Inteleon

Time period: 100-200 years after XY (cyberpunk with some greenery)

Male player character: based on Serena

Female player character: based on Calem

Bonus: non-binary/genderless player character (idc they wouldn’t do this they made it possible to be non-binary in GO I’d like to think they can do that in the core series somehow): based on Shauna (I do btw think the the player(s) not chosen should appear as NPCs so idk how this would work. I’d say this is my most ambitious idea out of all of these)

New Megas: Chesnaught, Delphox, Greninja, Kalosian Meganium, Kalosian Blaziken, Kalosian Inteleon, Goodra, Aromatisse and Slurpuff (because they’re cool Pokémon that deserve special treatment, not because “they suck and should get new forms so we don’t have to look at their ugly (they’re not ugly) faces anymore”), Meowscarada, Quaquaval (bonus points if they give it the massive wings I think Decidueye should have had if it had got a special Terastal form), Armarouge, Ceruledge, Volcanion and Hoopa(?)

Additional new forms: 100% Xerneas and Yveltal, Scarlet Beast Walking Wake and Violet Sword Iron Leaves (because I will not let the fact that the drawings in the books are imagined stop me from thinking the fusions would make these cool trios even cooler if that’s even possible when four of them make up my top 3 favourite Pokémon (sorry Bolt and Crown you two are pretty cool too you’re just not Wake, Leaves, Fire or Boulder)) when trying to put my ideas together in a procreate artwork for some reason I decided to give them signature moves with two effects/gimmicks each. Effect one is that SB Wake’s move defaults to Special but can become Physical “if it would do more damage” while VS Leaves’s move defaults to Physical but can become Special “if it would do more damage”. What I believe I meant with those is if those are their higher attacking stats but what it actually implies to me upon looking at it late at night is that it depends on stuff like the opponent’s defensive stats and anything like Reflect and Light Screen and stuff that would alter the amount of damage done by one type of attack while not altering the amount of damage done by the other type of attack and I’m really overthinking it now. Anyway the second effect is that SB Wake’s move increases to 120% damage in Rain, Sandstorm and Snow but 200% in Harsh Sunlight while VS Leaves’s move increases to 120% damage on Grassy Terrain, Misty Terrain and Psychic Terrain (apart from the fact that it’s a Psychic-type move and anyway gains a boost under Psychic Terrain) and 200% under Electric Terrain. Also I decided the fusions are by default pure Dragon (Wake) or pure Psychic (Leaves) but their abilities are upgraded versions of Protosynthesis and Quark Drive but act like they have the collective types of their entire trios including affecting type matchups allowing for triple weaknesses or triple resistances (I don’t think either combo would have a quadruple weakness/resistance as that would mean all three members of one of the trios would have to have a double weakness/resistance). Also I decided that the unused stones in SV are used for the fusion of these two trios (when did I ever think they weren’t) and the fusions look more like the Paradox Pokémon themselves than their modern-day counterparts (Wake has a slightly longer neck to match Bolt and thinner forearms to match Wake but still mostly matches Fire’s physique (I don’t think that’s the word I was looking for there) while Leaves is more metallic and more glowy plus the stuff meant to look like Terrakion’s brick pattern looks like Boulder’s brick pattern, the neck things look like Leaves’s leaves and the collar matches Crown’s collar (I will admit the two things I prefer about Cobalion are the collar and the neck fluff. I still prefer Crown though). Also for both of them the horns are closer to Wake/Boulder’s horns than Suicune/Terrakion’s horns (although Fire’s banana spikes make up some of SB Wake’s horn and Crown’s golden horns with blue glowy energy bits make up some of VS Leaves’s horns). Honestly, I come up with such cool ideas but I don’t know how to draw it). Never let the person obsessing over the Proto Beasts and Neo Swords who wishes that the fusions could also exist come up with their wishlist for the next game. uhh probably more idk. Oh yeah regional forms for the starters and some others but I think I implied that at least twice already

Bonus changes: terrain update! 100% Xerneas creates a stronger version of Grassy Terrain (similar to Heavy Rain) and Yveltal creates a stronger version of Electric Terrain (similar to Extremely Harsh Sunlight) Grassy Terrain and Electric Terrain made the most sense to me as opposites among the Terrains plus it gives me an excuse to give Leaves a signature move of its primary type to match the rest of the Neo Swords and the Proto Beasts. This results in Leaves requiring a Grass-type version of Psyblade just like how Wake requires Hydro Steam. Fittingly Wake gets a Dragon-type version of Hydro Steam to match

Yes I know the ugly croc would get a Mega if Meowscarada and Quaquaval got them it’s just ugly so I don’t want it to get anything special (still, they got the top two best starters in the Paldean starter trio so it would’ve been too powerful if they hadn’t have put the worst starter in it too in order to balance it out)

So yeah as you can see I’m being really ambitious. I think I might have taken Game Freak’s statement that this was gonna be the most ambitious entry a little too literally

🤕-Which boss is the hardest?

The Swansong is the bane of my existence. I've got over 700 hours in the game and I've... never actually beaten it. To be fair that's largely because I never really bothered doing mech stuff until recently (my achievement hunter brain craves Parasprite and Cosmic Intruder figurines) but hell, even the dungeon is hard. I can usually just blaze through all the dungeons, but even with endgame gear I die fairly often in the Dantalion!

🌶️-What do you think is your most unpopular Starbound opinion?

I don't care for Frackin Universe and similar overhaul mods. I just genuinely enjoy the vanilla experience! (Well, I call it Vanilla+ since I've got a ton of little QOL/bugfix/cosmetic mods. One of them literally just makes Snuggets glow)

I dabbled in Frackin once with friends, and it didn't interest me enough to start my own playthrough. It's certainly not a bad mod, just not my thing. I might do a heavily modded playthrough with Frackin and the whole nine yards someday, but I don't have any actual plans to do so.

🚀-Which ship design is the best?

They've all got their charm, but I quite like the Hylotl and Apex ships! I haven't actually gotten a fully upgraded ship with either of them, but I do like the futuristic designs. The Hylotl one is probably my favorite out of the two, though. The patchwork look of the Floran ship is also excellent.

🪞-Which starbound oc made you discover something about yourself, or inspired you to try something new?

I've been taking art seriously (as a hobby) for over six years now, but I never really bothered to draw people until I got invested in my Starbound OCs! I was a Wings of Fire kid so I started out drawing dragons(and I still do, just different dragons lol), but I've even gotten into gesture drawing lately just to draw my SB characters better.

🔎-What's a small, easy-to-miss detail that you just love?

I honestly really like the bug catching! It was absolutely a pain to get all of them for the achievement, but they make lovely lil decorations. The wild bugs add excellent ambience when wandering around on planets, too.

Also, all the little lore snippets from scanning stuff and talking to NPCs are excellent.

🎳-Funnest toy?

I must admit I never really bothered to do much with the toys! I kind of forget they exist most of the time. If I ever stumble across them I do have fun chucking them around my ship for a minute before they get banished into a miscellaneous storage box somewhere. I should do more with them

💺-What is your favorite furniture set? What is your favorite standalone furniture item? Do they go together?

I'm quite fond of the Astro set! One of my favorite things about SB is the sci-fi setting, and I love all the cool space props available. I like to mix and match them for individual builds, but Astro is my favorite whole set just because it's orange lol

My favorite individual piece has got to be the Symbiote in a Jar. I like to put them in my ship as a friend. Just look at him. Little guy

🛋️-Top 3 furniture mods?

I don't actually use any! At least not any elaborate ones; I have a few for little things like gravity field generators, ceiling-mounted sprinklers, and craftable plants and coral. Also more colors of string lights and neon lights, because shiny glowy things are a necessity.

Letheia Expanded does look very cool, though! I love mods that build on the existing lore like that.

🧱-Favorite block(s)?

The good old Ornate Wood and Classic Baseboards are some of my go-to blocks for regular house builds. Heavy Pipes, too! They make great extra details.

I also love a bunch of the super niche blocks. There's not exactly a lot of regular building uses for a block of eyeballs, but if you ever need some weird stuff for a science lab or whatnot then there's that!

🧰-What huge, super ambitious mod would you make if you had the time/energy/skills?

CHARACTER CREATION OVERHAUL. I utterly despise the little arrows for selecting everything. It's already a pain in vanilla, but when you start adding in things like Colorbound and new hairstyles it is absolute agony. I've never even tried modding and I've heard that the current BS system is hardcoded in, but I long for reasonable character creation. NPCspawner's creation menu is excellent (it uses lists of colors/hairs to pick from rather than the wretched arrows) and I wish vanilla had something similar.

JUJUTSU KAISEN S2 Reviews

#1: Hidden Inventory (8/10)

SB/Enshutsu: Shota Goshozono Assistant Enshutsu: Ryota Aikei, Jun Nakagawa Opening SB/Enshutsu: Yuuki Kamiya

This is fun. Already fond of the cast and the story promises to shape up to something quite interesting with the girl (I’m sure the dilemma of whether it’s worth sacrificing her will come up) and the dynamic between Geto and Gojo. It’s also interesting to see how different Gojo is to the Gojo we knew so far, there will definitely be a lot of grave events which changed him, which makes the more fun and carefree atmosphere we have right now the more intriguing.

The aesthetic is also massively improved, I’m a huge fan that under Gosso there is much lighter compositing, making this show much more vibrant and aesthetically pleasing than other shows MAPPA produced recently. And a lot of fun animation, there is constant movement and an absurd amount of freedom in how to draw the characters and move them (One thing which was particularly funny to me is how Gojo changed from chibi to normal proportions within a cut to display his shift in attitude). I also like Gosso's direction, he pulls the fun but also atmospheric segments off pretty well. The little horror segment this episode was pretty tense, he also utilized the camera very well here. The OP is also probably my fav so far, I love it. Huge fan of having very lively slice-of-life portions but also the bombastic action sequence where they fall down a skyscraper - That’s the kind of absurd action I look for in an anime.

To name some negative stuff though, there are some noticeable limitations, such as the animation being jittery with more ambitious rotation shots. They already struggled with pulling that off cleanly in CSM. A bit uncanny. The 3D environments also are plainly modeled (ground/walls are often just planes with texture) and the flatness compared to the 2D animation stands out. Due to high usage of 3D backgrounds and the comp not trying to hide it, it’s noticeable.

You probably read these posts already but they are some of the perfect examples when we say that most jikookers are losing the plot here. They're making theories that are aligned to jikook's everlasting love and kumbaya to make sense of why JK is doing and agreeing to all that shit.

That anon really made it look like JK is doing all that for him and jimin's future. What do you mean JK is just being a hero and making sacrifices for the two of them? So he's a saint now, and that makes it okay that Jimin is being suppressed? JK deserves the massive push but Jimin does not?? JK wants the company to fuck off and he has limited options???? SB and BPD did not even force JK to do Seven, he wanted it himself.

EA finally acknowledges that they're about to get competition and that they're preparing for it. But I think the problem is... I don't think Sims 4 is gonna be able to compete. Sims 4 is a game that's nearing 11 years old. These new games are gonna be brand new and shiny -- they're not old news like S4.

And you could say "well, they won't have as much content as S4 has!" and it's true. But Sims 4 is actually reaching a point where it has too much content (yet somehow not enough at the same time) the near 100 packs must be intimidating to some people, it's gotta be. It's kinda like how you may wanna watch Supernatural but it has 15 seasons and it's old anyway. So, why not start off with another good (possibly better) show that's currently on and doesn't have as much to watch? Something that is easier to keep up with. Like Paralives and Inzoi are both gonna be cheaper than all of The Sims 4 combined. Even if S4's basegame is currently free, all of its DLC together costs $1000+. Meanwhile, Paralives & InZoi may have a price to buy the game, but unlike Sims 4, their base games will likely have much more content to begin with. (Most ppl consider S4 to be unplayable without DLC, probably a reason why EA made it free)

Another problem with Sims 4's over saturation with packs is that... it's starting to break the game terribly. Even Sims 4's most loyal players can't deny this. Every new pack or update comes with bugs. And it's okay for it to be minor bugs, all games have them. But these are game breaking bugs. The current bug being that objects from packs (you've PURCHASED btw) are completely missing from build buy. Another current bug is rain / snow happening indoors. But there have been bugs (and still kinda are) that makes some DLC packs (such as My Wedding Stories and Dine Out) to be unplayable. Despite EA's promises of fixing these bugs (which they haven't really yet) they've already ruined their reputation. Both Paralives & InZoi are new games, they have fresh reps that haven't been tarnished yet.

And frustrated players are questioning EA's supposed new team -- which recently they've claimed to have made a new team alone just for fixing bugs. (Crazy it took them this long to do this) But I think the problem is... that EA is not revealing... is that even with a new team, it's just too hard to fix now. This game has been out for (near) 11 years, it has 91 packs that all interact with the base game. That means the team has to make sure to fix bugs (many bugs they're probably unaware of) all while making sure these near ONE HUNDRED packs still work properly with each other. And btw, with all these packs, there is a near infinite amount of combinations that a player could have. So, you might fix bugs that happen only if sb has all the packs, or if sb has no packs. It gets even worse when you consider the possibility that this game might've been built on an engine that was intended for Sims Olympus, an online game that was being developed in 2008, before The Sims 3's release. In technical terms, this game can possibly be older than TS3. This engine could be 16 years old, and it also has a lot of 'ambitious' content thrown on to it that it was never supposed to be able to handle. So it's actually very understandable why a bug team is struggling to fix this game.

The majority of players agree that TS2 and TS3 is better than TS4. The only reason why more people are playing TS4 is because it's easily accessible -- both being free, and the most recent game. Though hypothetically, if TS2, TS3, and TS4 were all new games and receiving new updates at the same time -- I bet you anything TS2 and TS3 would be doing better than TS4. TS4 is only doing so well right now because it has no competition.

Instead of just releasing more S4 packs under the guise of "it'll get better! we prommy!" Because players have played, and are already disappointed, by TS4. There's no mystery whether it's a "good game" or not.

But EA doesn't wanna bother with making a new game. They want the most profit for the lowest effort. Which is beyond shitty of them.
