These two scenes mean so much to me. Logan really believed that his purpose will be fulfilled only if he dies a hero and Wade didn't want to let him die. When they saved the world and survived, Logan wanted to walk away from Wade but Wade asked him to stay. Logan thought that he isn't going to get a happy ending and probably that he doesn't deserve one but Wade didn't want to lose him. Imagine how Logan felt, after so many years of being alone, to finally have a friend who actually cares about him and wants him to be happy.

The thing about Han Yoojin is...
I don't think he would be more dangerous if he were an S-Class. He is dangerous specifically because he is F-Class.
That's because all of Yoojin's abilities, as well as his behaviours, are a direct consequence of him being a lower rank hunter in a world made to favour higher ranks. Yoojin's strenght comes from his determination, his knowledge, and his anger towards those who oppress the weak and vulnerable.
Lacking physical strenght and strong magical powers, he started studying hard everything there was to know about Dungeons, and he became an incredible strategist. Unable to protect himself from the criminals who took advantage of lower class hunters - and a society that did close to nothing to protect those lower classes -, he became a skilled liar, a manipulator, and he learned how to kill his enemies after tricking then into lowering their guards. He became ruthless, because if he wasn't, he wouldn't have survived, or he would have had to give up on his goal to try and protect his younger brother.
If Yoojin had been an S-Class, Yoohyun wouldn't have had as strong a reason to push him away in order to protect him. Yoojin wouldn't need to lie, manipulate, steal as much, because most things he could possibly want would simply be handed to him.
Even imagining a Yoojin that is both powerful AND as clever and ruthless as he is.... well, he'd be like Sung Hyunje. And even amazing Sung Hyunje is not as determined or imaginative as F-Class hunter Han Yoojin is.

Prompt 224
DCxDP
Now Booster Gold would like it known he is Not father material, or even responsible adult material. That is Ted, and even then they seem to share a single braincell when they're in each others presence.
But again, NOT anything close to father material. Which he repeats to both himself and the eldritch Time Entity who just handed him what he Knows to be pretty much an unborn child of its species. look, he Knows about Realms Beings- Espranto was literally his first language like many others of his timeline- so he knows the inherent dangers.
But Somehow him becoming a time-cop of sorts has endeared him towards this primordial one, thankfully. Less thankfully, it has given him a whole-ass CHILD. A BABY. HIM. Of all people!
Ted he needs help, he doesn't know if this counts as mpreg or something and he's freaking out man!

to me, tim and duke occupy a similar position in the batfamily where they're clearly not (or previously weren't, in tim's case) bruce's sons but also clearly have a connection to bruce's children that separates them from barb, steph, helena, jean paul, etc. none of the latter three are dick's siblings, but tim nearly always has been, and then he's cass' too. even if he hadn't been adopted, this would be true. duke is jason's brother, and is implied to have a sibling relationship with cass and damian, and has even shown up in tim's picture of his brothers. this is not changed by the fact that duke should never be adopted.

(hii Spot been awhile) Something I think that's interesting about the observation about how Slugcats are getting so much attention nowadays is that its almost a 180 from how things were in the pre-downpour days, iirc.
Though I am glad we're getting an AU like yours it's so interesting compared to the usual
Im eating with a fork
Yeah, the fandom was not particularly strong back then, but I think there was more Iterator content. My suspicion as to why slugcats are so much more popular now is because the general "cat appeal"*. Downpour brought in wider audience which mostly consists of people that go wild over cat videos on the internet.
Not my intention to throw shade on it, because after all what does my opinion matter to anyone, but I find the whole "cuteness cult" of the internet annoying and, when applied to Rain World, frustrating. There's a whole silent worldbuilding in basically every screen of the game and the only thing that people seem to take away post-DP is "cute sluggy go wooo :3 the Ancients were such cultist pricks Dx". Which like alright, but expand a little on the latter please? Try? There is So much fun to it when one moves past the "religion only BAD" mindset.
DP also I think didn't care much about the Ancients and the culture they left behind (and therefore the root of Iterators). "But there's Saint!" Saint is almost everything new that wasn't heard of before, can be taken as another fact of monstroid mad religion and, of course, it Has to be wrapped in a fluffy cat package. The undergrowth Echo also feels like a spit in the face to the lore/religion than an addition, to me. My *guess* would be the original intention was showing an individual who failed to ascend because of the Fifth Hindrance but it doesn't *feel* like it. If that was the intention, I think the author didn't understand why a desire to live/survive could ever, in any form, be bad
It's interesting as well in the sense that when there was only Survivor, maybe up to Hunter- the slugcats felt like a vehicle that brings the player to the story. The player saw the world through their eyes and got to experience the world's rules, abiding them- the original campaigns were still subject to the lore/religion of the world.
DP made the slugcats characters, the main focus, in some cases a rebelion against the lore/religion (forever beef against new route for Survivor and Monk). So people had an easier time latching onto them.
That is my theory at least. Fact is also when I first watched RW I almost didn't get into it as a creator because I felt like I had nowhere to hook to and work with. Characters are great anchor points for people to latch on to and then work with/through, so it's not like I blame the fandom for quite literally getting slug infested. It's natural and logical and I'm well aware of it as someone who's trying to be a writer. Still frustrating.
Either way, at least there's a vacuum for me to fill with something I'm actively actually passionate about. It's kind of a sweet bonus that people are somewhat interested, too.

Aaaaaa don’t think about the Triforce trio realizing they all actually want the same thing (to break the curse Demise set on them and end the cycle they’ve been trapped in for thousands of years now) and forming a very tentative, reluctant truce. They’re all uncertain about this alliance and keep waiting for the other shoe to drop, for Ganondorf to betray them, for Link and Zelda to decide it isn’t worth the risk of trusting him…they keep expecting this fragile thing between them to fall apart, and it keeps not happening.
But something else is happening. It starts with Ganondorf grabbing the back of Link’s shirt to drag him out of harms way during a fight. Then Link offers to share some of the food he cooked with him. Zelda stops Ganondorf just in time from wandering through a bush with poisonous thorns, and later she wakes up on a cold night to find a Gerudo cloak draped over her and Ganondorf shivering on the other side of the fire. Zelda and Link work together to gather ingredients to make a warming stew when Ganandorf comes down with a cold later.
Then one night Link and Zelda feel relaxed enough to chat about the old days, and reminisce about a funny thing that happened during Zelda’s research once. It’s a story that always makes the two of them laugh, but they’re surprised to hear a snort from across the campfire and look up to see Ganondorf pretending to cough to hide a chuckle. It’s not a mean, villainous laugh. It’s…ordinary. Like any of their friends laughing with them.
But it’s not until the day Ganondorf gets injured throwing himself in front of a blow that was meant for the kids that they realize oh, he cares about us, and we care about him too.

So... In pokemon
People eat pokemon sometimes, and pokemon eat pokemon sometimes. And, sometimes, pokemon eat people. It's a cycle and it's a fact.
How does one determine which Pokemon to eat and which ones not to?
