LOVER — RORONOA ZORO
roronoa zoro + i take this magnetic force of a man to be my lover content: gn! reader
request a character and prompt for my spotify wrapped event here!
dinners between pirate crews don’t usually occur since your alliances are fragile and you’re all prepared to fight at a moment’s notice. but given the collaboration between the strawhats pirates, the heart pirates, and the kid pirates, it’s safe to say that you’re all a bit more reassured that no one’s about to slice someone’s head off.
you accept another glass of wine from robin as usopp rambles on about how he took out at least thirty marines in your latest high-sea tussle. across the table, zoro snorts and gives you a dead-eyed stare that has you giggling behind your cup.
you and zoro have been dating for quite some time, having begun only a few weeks after you joined luffy’s crew. neither of you have been inclined to tell the rest of your friends in order to avoid merciless teasing as well as mitigating the damage should your relationship go south. if it does, only the two of you will know about it and stew over it — the least amount of risk, you both agreed.
franky glugs down another stein of beer, laughing jovially, “alright, alright, i’ve got an idea!”
“oh? and what’s that?” robin asks, resting a hand on her chin.
“let’s play a game. gotta spice things up!”
“hey!” usopp protests. “my stories are super spicy!”
“yeah, right,” kid snickers, “they’re also lies.”
usopp glares and is about to retort but franky beats him to the punch, saying, “truth or dare!”
“really?” deadpans law. “isn’t that for kids?”
“aww, you need to loosen up, cap!” shachi says, nudging law. “i’m down.”
franky says, “i’m sure everyone knows the rules. only thing is if you refuse to answer a truth or do a dare, you drink!”
luffy perks up. “yeah, alright! that sounds like fun! zoro! zoro! truth or dare?”
your boyfriend smirks. “dare. do your worst.”
“i dare you to eat one of your swords.”
zoro’s eyes nearly pop out of his head. “no way!”
“gotta drink then,” you say to him.
“not a problem.” zoro lifts his stein to his mouth and you watch with appreciation as his bicep flexes and bulges under the tight t-shirt he’s wearing. he easily chugs down his beer, wiping his lips with the back of his hand.
zoro dares sanji to throw out his collection of dirty magazines that he found under sanji’s bed; sanji asks nami who she would date if she could date any crew member (“ew, none of you.”); nami gets bepo to perform one of uta’s songs and bepo asks franky what’s the best kept secret he’s held from you all.
franky smirks at law and says, “alright, law, truth or dare.”
“truth.”
“if you could hook up with anyone on the deck, who would it be?”
law frowns at the question and you’re sure he’s going to drink instead but when he says your name, the ship erupts into chaos. nami and ikkaku elbow you, their grins suggestive and encouraging; sanji glares at law; shachi, penguin, and bepo gape; and kid and luffy howl with laughter. you sit there in stunned silence, your face on fire, and you can’t look at law.
you chance a peek at zoro and find that, in all the ensuing chaos, he’s nowhere to be found. you catch the door to the belly of the thousand sunny swinging closed and you immediately stand, heading downstairs. you ignore everyone’s questioning shouts in favor of searching for your boyfriend.
“zoro?” you call. “zoro!”
you wander the halls for a few minutes, checking the kitchen, the men’s quarter, the gym. you find him quickly, though, inside the energy room. he’s sitting on a crate, expression sour, and you plop down next to him. “you okay?” you ask.
“i’m fine.”
you study him — his profile, the slope of his nose and the sharpness of his jaw, the way the low light of the room makes his tan skin look golden. you sit quietly with him for a few moments, listening to the engine of the ship run. zoro holds himself rigidly, unnervingly still, but you can feel the irritation rolling off of him, can still see the tension in his body.
you reach over, brushing your hand against his brow to smooth out the furrow. he looks over at you, still scowling but a little less intensely now. you say, “i’m guessing what law said bothered you.”
he shrugs. you sigh, “it’s just a game, zoro. i’m sure he didn’t even mean it, probably said the first name he thought of.”
zoro grunts derisively, “he definitely meant it. look at you.”
you can’t help the pleased feeling the rushes through you but you don’t let it show as you let your hand fall to his shoulder. “it’s just a game. doesn’t mean anything.”
“yeah,” zoro says. there’s a beat and then he says, “i hate hidin’ this.”
“really?” you can’t hide your surprise. zoro’s the one who initially brought up keeping this from everyone.
“i’m sick of it,” he says. “sick of the fuckin’ love cook always saying shit to you. i hate when guys flirt with you and i can’t fuckin’ do anything because the rest of the damn crew is there and luffy’s makin’ me watch his scarf down twenty plates of roast beef.”
you snicker at the memory, which pulls a small smile at of zoro. you rest your head against his shoulder and he mutters, “hate that the fuckin’ doctor said you.”
“we could tell them, you know. i think it’s okay now.”
“yeah?”
“yeah,” you say. “i’m, like, super in love with you so you’re stuck with me.”
zoro snorts, “yeah, yeah. love you too.”
“are you ready to endure all the teasing from franky, robin, and nami?”
“for you, yeah.”
you tilt your head up and kiss his jaw. zoro grins, leaning down to catch your mouth with his.
When you break apart, you ask him, “I would’ve placed money on you going to the gym. Why’d you come here?”
“Oh. I got lost.”
“You two okay?” asks robin as you and zoro resurface. the game seems to have finished and everyone’s back to drinking and chatting, though they all turn to you when they hear robin.
“yeah, we’re good,” you tell her. “we actually have something to tell you.”
“what is it?” nami asks.
“we’re together,” zoro says. “have been for a while.” and then, unexpectedly, zoro’s arm wraps around your hip and pulls you close.
the ship erupts into the chaos again with you and zoro in the middle. somewhere among all the yelling and gasping, law taps your shoulder and apologizes, which you wave off with an easy smile and zoro gives a firm nod.
nami shakes her head. “i can’t believe you two kept this from us!” and then, she turns to you. “zoro? really? you could do so much better.”
you wind yours arms around zoro’s waist, crushing him in a sideways hug. “nope, i don’t think so. he’s all mine!”
nami gags and robin smiles calmly. “i’ve always known.”
you and zoro stare at her. “what?”

MORE LUFFY RELATIONSHIP HEADCANONS
Yeahhh!!! Luffy hcs we’re what my first ever hcs were about! Look how far I’ve come! I love Luffy and I’m so proud of myself! enjoy these Luffy hcs lovely readers <3
Bathing together is SUPER FUN
and messy
you have lots (too many) bubbles
and yes bath toys
even stuff that’s not supposed to be in the bath-
like sticks-
let him tell it they’re swords
he personally doesn’t bathe bc he doesn’t care
even if its mandatory seeing as though no one wants to smell all that funk 😀
so he canonly bathes once a week right??
with you !! He can bathe at any time!
why? Cuz it’s funn 😆😆
you turn it into a game! an adventure!
so now he looks forward to bath time ;3
luffy splashes water everywhere
I wouldn’t be surprised if the ceiling is drenched with that dude’s strength 😂🤦♀️
it takes you FOREVER to clean up
but you know what takes even longer?? GETTING HIM OUT THE BATH
”AWWW but we were having sooo much FUUUUN (NAAAAAME)”
actually it did take a long time til you found a cheat code 😋
tell him sanji’s making food!!
ez way to get him out 😎
The final boss tho??
is getting him to help out with cleaning the mess up
especially after you told him there’s food around🧍♀️
Now bro’s DEFINITELY not listening 🙉
unless you use another cheat code (saying you’ll tell sanji not to give him any meat til he helps clean up)
your not getting any help buddy..
he’s already gone by the time you get him out the bath 🤷♀️
but again! If you use cheat code no.2 you can get him to help :)
which leads me to…!
Cleaning together !!
which turns into a game too :P
well, more like a competition-
Because that’s the only way you’ll keep him from getting bored and complaining instead of actually cleaning
even with meat on the line 🤭
‘it’s just so boriiiiiiiing ☹️‘
- according to luffy
so yes! You propose a competition!
and whoever cleans the fastest wins the prize of…….you guessed it! MEAT!
now he’s up like a whirlwind, swiping up all the soap with a towel and water with tissue 😏
you probably don’t even have to do anything anymore 😜
he may have won the battle but you won the war
eating together can also sometimes be a competition
now you can win by playing it smart like Uta
or just agree so he can leave you to eat, without actually trying
but if it’s not a competition…it’s certainly a war..
and I mean the dangerous one every straw hat goes through each time sanji calls in for food..
Luffy stealing your food!!!
😦😦
no but seriously, not even you, Luffy’s s/o gets the benefit of the doubt⁉️
it’s every man for himself in the dining room 😂😂
if your intelligent, depending on if your more like Robin or Nami you’ll either be unbothered about his antics or super annoyed
with being unbothered you’ll have a lot more peace of mind
and luffy will probably get away with more of his tomfoolery because you put up with him 😆👍
however with a s/o more like nami who gets annoyed easily, yeah he’s not getting away with any of that
thankfully for her, nami has less to stress over now (you take 50% it’s a requirement)
If your more carefree like luffy
i can guarantee you’ve got on like every straw hats nerves at least once
oddly enough I have a feeling you haven’t been able to bother brook just yet
dude’s 90 he got bigger problems..
but yes you terrorize everyone (even outside the straw hats) whether it’s intentional or not
if your strong it’s a relief for luffy not to have to worry about you and he’ll send you to defeat some guys, protect the ship or protect one of your weaker Nakama
he highly believes in you and your capabilities likes he believes in Zoro 👍
he also doesn’t have to worry about strong attacks hurting you as badly or if you go off on your own/get lost or separated or smth
especially as his s/o
if your weak he probably worries about you a little bit more but all the straw hats can handle themselves to some sort of extent
and he knows for sure you won’t go down without a fight!
and that you can at least hold over until he gets there
then he’ll beat the crap outta those guys!
he always tells someone strong to go with you to fights or what might be dangerous
if he doesn’t have to be somewhere for some reason, he’ll go himself!
he just wants to know your safe :)
Luffy loves you because your you! and he really just appreciates that fact in itself.
he looks past physical appearances completely and goes straight for personality
and even then he doesn’t judge that!
point is, no matter what type of anything you are, Luffy loves you because he just does.
he gets a funny feeling in his stomach and he gets extra excited!
Luffy loves you.
He simply does.
and there’s no explaining why.
These were short but sweet<3
to which i hope you enjoyed them💗

Unexpected Dinner Guests! Koby x Straw-Hat! Reader
Somebody knows I got a soft spot for being called Mami,
I thought the Live action Koby looked so cute and their lips looked so fucking cute soft. I love pouty lips.
I have never written this cutie before so please bear with me.

Title: An Unexpected Meeting
The sea was calm as the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink. The Going Merry sailed smoothly, its crew bustling with the usual evening activities. On the deck, [Name], Luffy's sister, leaned against the railing, watching the sunset.
Her thoughts drifted to her adventures, the battles fought, and the friends made along the way. Beside her, Uta, their other sister, hummed a soft tune, her voice blending with the sounds of the sea.
"[Name]! Uta! Dinner's ready!" Luffy's voice broke through their reverie.
"Coming, Luffy!" [Name] called back, smiling at her brother's enthusiasm.
"Let's not keep him waiting," Uta added with a grin, her musical laugh echoing in the air.
As they made their way to the dining area, a sudden shout caught their attention.
"Marine ship ahead!"
Everyone sprang into action, readying themselves for whatever was to come. But as the ship drew closer, [Name] noticed a familiar pink-haired marine on deck.
"Koby?" she murmured, surprised.
The marine ship came to a halt beside the Going Merry, and sure enough, Koby stood at the helm, looking as determined as ever. He had grown since she last saw him, now a strong and confident young man.
"Permission to come aboard?" Koby called out.
Luffy grinned. "Koby! Of course, come on over!"
Koby leapt onto the deck with ease, greeted by the crew. [Name] and Uta approached him, curious smiles on their faces.
"Koby, what brings you here?" [Name] asked, her voice warm.
Koby rubbed the back of his neck, a faint blush creeping up his cheeks. "I was on a patrol mission and heard that the Straw Hat Pirates were in the area. I wanted to check in and see how everyone was doing."
Luffy laughed, clapping Koby on the back. "We're doing great! How about you? You've really grown!"
As the crew caught up with Koby, [Name] couldn't help but notice the changes in him. He was no longer the timid boy she remembered. His eyes were sharper, his stance more assured. There was an undeniable air of confidence about him now.
"Why don't you join us for dinner?" Luffy suggested, oblivious to the tension building in the air.
"Yes, stay!" Uta added enthusiastically, her eyes sparkling.
Koby hesitated for a moment, but Luffy's grin was infectious. "Alright, I'd love to."
As they made their way to the dining area, [Name] felt a sense of anticipation. It wasn't every day that a marine joined them for a meal. Ace and Sabo, who had joined the crew for a short visit, were already seated at the table. Ace's eyes narrowed as he saw Koby, his protective instincts kicking in.
"Koby, huh?" Ace said, his tone gruff. "What's a marine doing here?"
Luffy, oblivious as always, clapped his hands together. "Ace, don't be like that! Koby's a friend."
Koby offered a nervous smile. "I just wanted to catch up with everyone. No trouble, I promise."
Sabo, ever the diplomat, smiled warmly. "You're welcome here, Koby. Sit down, make yourself at home."
As they began to eat, the atmosphere gradually relaxed. The crew's usual banter and laughter filled the air, and Koby found himself feeling more at ease. [Name] and Uta sat beside him, engaging him in light conversation and making sure he felt included.
"So, Koby," Zoro said with a smirk, "what's it like being a marine and running into pirates all the time?"
Koby chuckled. "It's definitely interesting. Especially when those pirates are friends."
Sanji set a plate of food in front of Koby, giving him a once-over. "You better eat up. Can't have you getting weak on us."
Robin leaned in, her eyes twinkling with amusement. "So, Koby, do you have a special someone waiting for you back home?"
Koby's blush returned full force, and he stammered, "N-no, I don't. I'm too busy with marine duties."
Franky laughed heartily. "Well, looks like we found something Koby isn't confident about!"
[Name] and Uta couldn't help but giggle, noticing how Koby's eyes kept drifting towards [Name]. "Come on, guys, give him a break," Uta said, her voice musical.
Luffy, still oblivious, looked between Koby and [Name]. "Why is everyone teasing Koby? He's just here for dinner!"
Ace leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms. "Just making sure the marine knows his place."
Sabo elbowed Ace lightly. "Relax, Ace. Koby's not here to cause trouble."
Amid the teasing and light-hearted banter, Koby found himself feeling more at home than he ever expected. The crew's acceptance and warmth were overwhelming, and he couldn't help but steal glances at [Name], who was clearly enjoying the evening.
As the meal came to an end, everyone moved back to the deck to enjoy the night air. Koby stood beside [Name] and Uta, watching the stars reflect on the calm ocean.
"You know," Koby began, his voice soft, "I've always admired you and your brother. Your determination, your strength… it's inspiring."
A playful smile curved [Name]'s lips. "Are you saying you've got a crush on me, Koby?"
Koby's blush deepened, and he stammered, "N-no, I mean, yes, I mean—"
[Name] laughed, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Relax, Koby. I'm just teasing you."
Koby took a deep breath, his embarrassment fading into a smile. "I guess I walked right into that one."
She leaned in a bit closer, her voice softening. "But seriously, Koby, I'm proud of you. You've come a long way."
Koby's heart swelled at her words. "Thanks, [Name]. That means a lot coming from you."
As they walked back to the crew, the rest of the Straw Hats were watching them with knowing smiles. Luffy was beaming, clearly happy to see his friend, while Ace was still pouting, arms crossed.
"You still didn't kiss her!" Ace grumbled.
Sabo chuckled, clapping Koby on the back. "Give him a break, Ace. He's doing fine."
Nami and Robin exchanged amused glances, while Zoro shook his head with a smirk. "Young love, huh?"
Sanji sighed dramatically. "Ah, to be young and in love."
Koby, flustered, tried to defend himself. "It's not like that! We're just friends."
But before he could say more, [Name] stood on her tiptoes and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. "Thanks for a great evening, Koby."
As she ran off, the crew erupted in cheers and laughter. Sabo winked at Koby. "Better catch up with her, Koby."
Koby, heart pounding and cheeks burning, took off in pursuit of [Name], the crew's cheers ringing in his ears. As he chased after her, he couldn't help but feel grateful for the unexpected meeting that had brought him closer to her and made him feel truly at home.
They stood in comfortable silence, the bond between them growing stronger. [Name] knew that, despite their different paths, they would always be connected by the adventures and dreams they shared.
As the night grew deeper, they eventually joined pinkies, each with a smile on their face and a warmth in their heart.
For Koby, this unexpected meeting was a reminder of how far he had come and how much further he could go.
And for [Name], it was a moment of connection that she would treasure, knowing that even in the vastness of the sea, true friends were never far away.
Epilogue: A Number to Remember
The night had settled in, casting a serene glow over the ocean as the crew began to wind down. Koby and [Name] found themselves standing at the edge of the deck, the sounds of laughter and conversation fading into the background. The stars above twinkled brightly, mirroring the lights of the distant ships and the flickering torches aboard the Going Merry.
Koby glanced at [Name], his heart still racing from the excitement of the evening. He had never felt more alive, more accepted, and more at home than he did in that moment. Gathering his courage, he turned to her with a soft smile.
"[Name], I… I had a really great time tonight," Koby said, his voice a mix of shyness and determination. "I was wondering if I could maybe… get your number? So we can keep in touch?"
[Name] raised an eyebrow, a playful smile tugging at her lips. "You're just now asking for my number?"
Before Koby could respond, [Name] reached into her pocket and pulled out a tube of red lipstick. She took Koby's wrist gently and uncapped the lipstick in her lips, carefully writing a series of digits on his skin.
"There you go," she said with a wink, capping the lipstick and stepping back. "Now you won't forget it."
Koby looked down at his wrist, a grin spreading across his face. "Thank you, [Name]. I promise I won't."
As they rejoined the crew, the rest of the Straw Hats couldn't help but notice the lipstick on Koby's wrist.
"Oooh, Koby got her number!" Ussop cooed, his voice full of teasing delight.
Nami grinned, nudging Robin. "Looks like someone made an impression."
Sanji sighed dramatically, placing a hand over his heart. Uta bounced on her heels, "Put the moves on him [Name]!"
Zoro smirked, crossing his arms. "Just make sure you don't wash it off, marine."
Franky gave Koby a thumbs up, his grin wide. "Super smooth, Koby!"
Ace, still pouting, finally cracked a smile. "Alright, alright. Maybe you're not so bad after all, Koby."
Luffy, as oblivious as ever, laughed and clapped Koby on the back. "Welcome to the family, Koby! Now you've got a reason to come back and visit more often."
Koby, his face flushed with happiness, couldn't stop smiling. He looked over at [Name], who was surrounded by her family, her eyes sparkling with amusement and affection.
Sabo walked up to Koby, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Take care of her, Koby. And don't be a stranger."
"I won't," Koby replied, his voice full of sincerity.
As the night grew darker, the crew's laughter and camaraderie continued to fill the air. Koby stood amidst his new friends, his heart full of warmth and gratitude. He knew that this was just the beginning of a new chapter.
And as he looked down at the lipstick-covered digits on his wrist, he knew that he would cherish this night forever.

Lasting Memories (Shanks x gn!child!reader)
A/N: Yall I am so sorry, I thought I had posted this earlier today but I just checked and I was like wait I din’t , oops. I think I COOKED, PLEASE TELL ME IF I COOKED OR NOT, read this post to see what it was inspired on, cause I don’t want to make you read it twice if ya already know
Dividers by @/Saradika
“Captain, there's a kid out there; they said they want to talk to you,” Yassop said, entering the bar
“Hmm? Hardly a place for a kid to be” he said glancing at the bar him and his crew were currently staying at
“I think you’re going to want to see this one,” he said, grinning
“Well, let’s have a look, can’t leave the kid hanging,” he said. The captain stretched his arm out. His eyes gleamed as he took one last gulp of his drink, walking behind his officer until they came outside of the bar where a small child sat at a bench swinging their legs until they spotted him coming out of the bar
They smile, jumping off the bench and facing the Captain, their bunny-like ponytails raising in happiness
“Are you Captain Shanks?”
“That’s me. And are you the one asking for me?” He says teasingly before he bends down, coming to their level.
“Yeah”
“And what’s your name?”
“Reader”
“Reader, and how old you are you, Reader?”
“Six”
“Six, young lass to be wandering around, what can I do for you?”
“Do…do you remember me?”
Shanks pauses; he tries to recall this child, this face.
“I’m afraid not, but you look somewhat familiar.”
They grin
“You were always Closer to sister; she was older; I was just two, so back then all I knew was that you meant home, safety.
Shanks furrows his eyebrows in thought
“Im sorry, Lass, but im not sure what you mean; who was your sister?”
“You must remember better her better, your former musician, Uta.”
Shanks's eyes widen as he is hit with the sudden realization. Of course, he’d never have forgotten about his daughter.
"You’re…."
“Hi, Dad, it’s been a while,” they said, tears pooling in their eyes
Shanks is utterly taken aback by this moment; his jaw completely drops in shock.
"Y-you're really...I always wondered what happened to you, and I never stopped looking, either. Look at you; you were but a tiny lass always glued to Uta’s arms last time i Saw you"
“Uta told me that sometimes she had trouble getting me out of your arms; she always talks about you, especially after the music guy took over her; she keeps saying how you saved her.”
Shanks's eyes light a loud laugh escaping him after hearing of Uta’s fond memories about him.
"I can't believe it, all of this time I spent searching. . I can't believe my little lass found me instead”
“After the bad guy, sister has been taking a well-deserved break from all the craziness, and well, I was wondering if maybe I can stay with you for a while until sister charges up?”
He grins, scooping the small child up and ignoring their surprised squeal as their feet left the ground, turning around to his crew, who had by now left the bar to see their captain’s reencounter with his child
“Lads, we got a crewmate back; this calls for a celebration!”
They look up at their father, a smile growing on their face as they continue staring at his features. It had been a long time, and they were small the last time they had seen him; the features had become blurred over the years, but now there was no hurry. They had no need to hold onto figments of past memories that needed to be puzzled together just to have a vague remembrance of what their father look as now they would have the chance to create new memories, to wake up and see the face in front of them rather than in their murky memories
“Hm? Do I have something on my face, lass?”
“No, im just happy I found you.”
Shanks gives a bright smile as he sees his kid’s happy expression.
“So are we just going to stand out here, you little rascal? Come on then,” Shanks says, carrying the small one on his hip back to his ship.
“You guys have better start being careful from now on; we’ve got ourselves a child on board,” he said, glancing back at his crew. The smile On his face, betraying any serious tone he was trying to portray
“But dad is the reckless one,” Reader piped in
“Hah? What are you trying to say, reader?! Ask Beck; I am the epitome of responsibility, right Beck?”
“No.”
“Hey! Reader, don’t listen to him; Uncle Beck is just being silly!” he fusses
“Be careful around that one; take your eyes off him, and you’ll end up on the sea.” Lucky Laughs
“OI”
Im sorry for starving you guys, I just started classes so I’ve been trying to get ahead as I always do but eventually when I get ahead I will be much laidback so I will be more consistent ( Hopefully)

Okay, I am interested in your Dracule Uta posts now. (She's just so cute and I just know he embroidered that flower on her onesie!!) I need to know more!!
I don't have too much details yet but this is what I have for now:
While Shanks finds her in a treasure chest after raiding another crew, Mihawk instead finds her after killing some marines and discovering her on their ship, eating a devil fruit. He figures the Marines probably don't have good intentions for her so he takes her with him.
For the first few days/weeks, he tries to find another home for her. He thinks his life as a marine hunter and lone pirate is too dangerous to care for an infant. A bit of a Buddy Daddies thing in that way, that he's too dangerous to be around and frankly doesn't want the responsibility.
When he finds out which devil fruit she ate (still the Sing-Sing fruit), he realises he can't risk her falling into the hands of someone more corrupt who can manipulate her powers. He decides to go all in and try his best to raise her properly.
He goes to Shanks for help. He himself never had good parents, but he knows Shanks had a good relationship with Roger and his crew also has older men who may have advice to offer. He gets closer to the RHP this way, learning from them how to best care for a baby.
Shanks grows close to Uta. He likes that her hair makes her look like his and Mihawk's baby. He also treats her like she is their kid, always accidentally calls himself her father. Uta also thinks of him like that. Similar to Buddy Daddies again, Mihawk and Shanks both acknowledge they have parental roles in her life but, at this point in time, don't view themselves as romantic co-parents.
(Of course, they have feelings for each other but Mihawk is oblivious to his feelings and Shanks is secretly crushing hard. He loves how good Mihawk is with the kid and how hard he's trying)
Shanks likes to bribe Uta with sweets to talk him up to Mihawk. Always backfires on him because she's way too frank about it (learned that from Mihawk). She'll just say shit like, "Mihawk, Shanks told me he wants to kiss you!" and it embarrasses Shanks every time.
Uta loves being carried by Mihawk. He carries and controls Yoru so easily. Even teen Uta is practically weightless in his arms. It reminds her of when he first found her and rocked her in his arms as they rode his boat back to his home.
Uta sees Mihawk and Shanks's feelings for each other grow over the years until on her 12th birthday she told them to get a grip and go out already. They went out and have been together ever since.
Mihawk and Shanks figured out a co-parenting arrangement a few years before Shanks docked at Windmill Village. Mihawk thinks it will be good for Uta to go sailing with Shanks every once in a while as his experiences sailing with him have always ended with fun stories and meeting new people.
Mihawk wants Uta to get out there and appreciate the world's vastness. He often takes her sailing (if she isn't sailing with Shanks) and shows her all his favourite spots. Sometimes Shanks comes along and tells her stories of "that time me and Mihawk came here ourselves and this really cool thing happened"
Mihawk let Shanks take Uta for longer than before when he docked at Windmill Village as he wanted Uta to make long-term friends that weren't twice her age like himself and the RHP, so she still meets Luffy. While he is a loner, he wants Uta to experience everything and meet people from all walks of life so she can figure out exactly who she wants to be.
Mihawk trained her to be a strong swordswoman since young. She's very skilled with the blade but told him she wanted to be a singer. Mihawk supports her preference and is happy to listen to all her new songs. As he strived to be the greatest swordsman when he was young, he now wants to help Uta become the greatest musician. He tunes in for every broadcast she does and makes sure the RHP catches them too. Uta still cares a lot about her swordsmanship and practices it often to stay sharp.
She carried a bamboo sword as a kid, then got Shanks's old one with the red hilt as a hand-me-down when she was 15. For her 18th birthday, Mihawk had a Yoru-inspired blade crafted for her. She named it "Musica". It looks similar to Yoru but the orbs are red and heart-shaped, the blade isn't black, and it's shorter.
She lives at Kuraigana with Mihawk but splits her time between there and wherever Shanks is. When Perona moved in, they became close friends. Perona loves hearing about her Mihawk stories. She also regularly duels with Zoro when he moves in, insists he doesn't stand a chance against Mihawk if he can't even beat his first student.
Uta's favourite colour is teal because it's the colour Yoru's blade shines.
Her eyes have rings as Mihawk also taught her powerful observation haki (I don't know if the rings are directly relevant to that but I like how the rings look on her)

birthday countdown 2024, day 2: pre-canon with uta snippet
the countdown keeps counting down, the days getting away from me… somehow, there are only two days left until my birthday! 🎉🎉 today, i have for you a bit of buggy pov on the story i’ve been calling the pre-canon uta fic:
“Buggy. ’S this a dream?” Buggy gives him a flat look. “You dream about me a lot?” Shanks shrugs, and nearly tips over. “Now and then.” Sighing, Buggy hoists one of Shanks’ arms over his shoulder and starts marching them along the road back to the port. “Sure, it’s a dream. You fucked up, got hurt bad and can’t get back to your ship, and now you’ve gotta rely on the kindness of strangers to keep you and your kid from getting killed or, at the very least, screwed over. Why not imagine good ol’ Uncle Buggy coming to your rescue?” Shanks snorts, leaning heavily against Buggy. “Now I know it isn’t a dream.” “Oh?” Buggy gives Shanks a curious glance out of the corner of his eye. Shanks stays silent for long enough that Buggy wonders if he’s passed out. Then, quietly, he says, “In my dreams she doesn’t call you ‘Uncle Buggy.’”
(800 words below the cut)
“Hey!” the kid yells at a red-headed figure slumped against the wall of an unimportant alleyway, a hand pressed over one eye. This must be Daddy Dearest. “Are you sleeping?! Look, I found a captain who said he could take us!” She tugs at Buggy’s arm like she hasn’t seen it pop off, all but dragging him to her dad’s side.
Buggy wriggles free of the kid’s grip. “Yeah, uh, hey kid, why don’t you scram for a minute, let me and your old man handle the topic of…” The red-head looks up, and fuck Buggy’s entire life, he’s not a red-head, he’s the red-head.
He’s Shanks.
They stare at each other for a long, silent moment, before Buggy remembers to finish his thought. “…payment.”
“Okay…” The kid doesn’t understand the weird energy here—of course she doesn’t, why the hell would Shanks tell his kid about Buggy—but, looking for something useful to do, she grabs their supplies (Shanks’ sword, Shanks’ coin purse, and a cute little backpack no doubt full of a kid’s idea of important supplies, like toys and candy) and says, “Then I’ll just… take our stuff to your ship, Captain Buggy.” Frowning at the stare down, she says, “He’s… he’s gonna be okay, right?”
Not looking at her, Buggy says, “Oh, he’d better be.” She runs off. Once she’s out of earshot, Buggy mutters, “Fuck’s sake, Shanks, what the hell happened to you?”
Shanks shrugs, feigning nonchalance. “Oh, you know, got into a fight I wasn’t sure I could win from the start.”
Buggy tsks, peeling back the bundle of cotton Shanks has balled up over his eye. He gives the three parallel cuts a knowing look, replaces the cotton, and strips his glove to press a bare hand to Shanks’ forehead. “How many times did I tell you that guy was a monster? If this isn’t infected already…”
“Not enough times, I guess,” Shanks mumbles, swaying dangerously on his feet. “Buggy. ’S this a dream?”
Buggy gives him a flat look. “You dream about me a lot?”
Shanks shrugs, and nearly tips over. “Now and then.”
Sighing, Buggy hoists one of Shanks’ arms over his shoulder and starts marching them along the road back to the port. “Sure, it’s a dream. You fucked up, got hurt bad and can’t get back to your ship, and now you’ve gotta rely on the kindness of strangers to keep you and your kid from getting killed or, at the very least, screwed over. Why not imagine good ol’ Uncle Buggy coming to your rescue?”
Shanks snorts, leaning heavily against Buggy. “Now I know it isn’t a dream.”
“Oh?” Buggy gives Shanks a curious glance out of the corner of his eye.
Shanks stays silent for long enough that Buggy wonders if he’s passed out. Then, quietly, he says, “In my dreams she doesn’t call you ‘Uncle Buggy.’”
Buggy stops in his tracks. “The hell? Why not?” Is he not good enough to be family to Shanks’ kin? The thought hurts unexpectedly, like a haki-infused punch after years of East Blue weaklings.
Shanks laughs and immediately winces. “Never mind.” He sighs, and sags against Buggy, hiding his wounded eye from passerby in a way that makes Buggy look like a sailor escorting a drunken crew mate back to their ship. Perfect. You’d almost think he planned it that way.
Buggy walks them up to the Big Top to see the kid arguing with Cabaji, both hands wrapped defensively around her father’s sword (which is longer than she is tall, so it’s quite a feat).
“It’s not for sale!” she insists.
“Come on, kid,” Cabaji says, leaning over her and leering. He’s still pretty green, but he knows a good sword when he sees one. “You’re the one who said you needed a ride, and passengers have to pay…”
“Leave it, Cabaji,” Buggy snaps.
Cabaji jumps to attention. “Captain! I was just—this kid—” He sees the stranger bleeding on Buggy’s shoulder and shuts up.
“This kid and I have already arranged for her and her father to travel with us,” Buggy explains, nudging the kid further up the gangplank with the side of his foot. She sidles around Cabaji, sticking her tongue out at him. “Hey, none of that, brat! You’re sailing with me, you respect my officers.”
She scowls, but nods, and gives Cabaji a mumbled apology. “Sorry. But he shouldn’t have tried to take the sword!”
Buggy rolls his eyes. “He’s a pirate, kid, that’s exactly what he should’ve done.”
She holds onto the sword ever tighter, giving Buggy a suspicious look.
He cackles. “Oh, don’t worry, I’m not gonna take it from you. I know how your dad works, he’s too honor-bound to not pay me what he owes.” Over his shoulder, he says, “Tell Mohji to find me, and then get us off this island ASAP. The Marines haven’t spotted us yet, and with these two aboard we really don’t want them to.” Back to the kid: “Come on, I’ll set you two up in our sick room.”
#birthday countdown 2024#notfic#the pre-canon uta fic#one piece#shuggy#this one really needs me to flesh out buggy’s crew to write it properly and i just. don’t wanna.#(nothing against cabbage mohji and everyone’s favorite lion! this is about me not wanting to have to flesh out the unnamed bg guys)

A couple of replies about other fandoms, then a couple of replies about twst boys (including one about them loving hands).
Anonymous asked:
as someone who found you through twst i was EXTREMELY surprised and pleased to see your marchen art since sound horizon is still a bit of an obscure thing, esp compared to all the linked horizon stuff. do you have a fav song from the album or their discography in general?
Anon! I am so excited to hear from someone who also knows about Sound Horizon <3 Yes, we love it very much! We haven’t listened to their newer stuff properly, and by “newer” I mean anything that came out after Marchen lol so not that new, but I do remember Marchen (+Ido) coming out and how overwhelmingly amazing it was. It still is, to be fair; I’d say this is my favourite album. I also REALLY love Moira and Elysion.
There are a lot of songs that I love (from Roman and other albums as well), but if I had to pick one from each of my 3 favourite albums, I’d say it’s Yoiyami no Uta, Shiseru Eiyūtachi no Tatakai and Ark.
I don’t listen to Linked Horizon stuff all that much, but I adore everything that Revo wrote for Shingeki. Akatsuki no Requiem is probably my favourite from these songs… and Sasageyo, of course.
The majority of my SanHora art is so old, I’m sorry you had to look at it lol One day I’ll draw all of our faves again…
Anonymous asked:
Yooo! Black butler throw back!? The nostalgia! In ref to ur recent black butler art
Yeah, we post Black Butler art pretty often! Funny enough, even though we watched it ages and ages ago and rewatched it several times, it took all those years for us to finally appreciate it lol So now we love it a lot. And I draw it quite often…
blackbutlerfandomnerddomain asked:
I'm sorry did I see W.I.T.C.H. on your fandom list?? Do I sense some good angsty toxic yaoi Phobos from you by chance-
In theory, yeah lol I think Cedric/Phobos was my first ever ship. I would love to draw them at some point, but that probably won’t happen anytime soon.
Anonymous asked:
I sent a link to a translated clip from chapter 7 without realizing you haven’t gotten there yet! I’m so sorry and please don’t click if you don’t want spoilers!
It’s okay! Well, unfortunately, one of us already looked at it oops, but it’s obvious that you didn’t mean it, so don’t worry.
We appreciate your apology and warning <3
fate-muse-club-house asked:
Jamil got to look sexy enough and Kalim will buy him anything he wants
Fact. And Jamil doesn’t even have to do anything – he is sexy enough just normally…
Anonymous asked:
QUESTION!
Do you think any of the twst boys would have a liking/kink of some sort for hands?
Also, I love how you draw Jamil and Kalim.
:)
Thank you, Anon <3
Let’s see… Rook is absolutely the one, he pays attention to hands all the time. He doesn’t like being touched, but loves grabbing hands and caressing his own face with someone else’s hands…
Vil probably has a very specific type of hands that he loves. Manly, but not overly masculine, but strong, but very tidy and elegant? Super specific.
Trey has a thing for tiny hands. They make him physically weak when he looks at them.
Cater also loves hands, and he probably takes pictures of his own hands a lot. He does it just for fun and for the aesthetics of it. Azul adores his own hands. He also thinks Idia’s are prettier than he thought they’d be…
Idia loves either cute and tiny ones or big and masculine ones, and he is in denial about both.
Sebek is also a big lover of hands, but he didn’t figure it out quite yet.
Anonymous asked:
Imagine Idia having a waifu body pillow and whoever he’s with is jealous of it.
Oh they would get jealous 😭 All of them. Even Azul who would at first think that he is above this, and that this is just one of Idia’s million otaku quirks, would get unexpectedly annoyed whenever Idia would hug this thing or even have it on his bed.
Lilia would yeet it from the bed lol it’s his bed! Maybe he’ll get Idia a new daki, the one of Lilia himself doing a cute pose in a cosplay <3 Idia would get uncomfortable and complain about Lilia acting out of character…
Ortho wouldn’t mind it though. If he’s making a scene, it’s intentional! He knows that Idia just uses this anime girl for comfort and that she isn’t as cute as him.

Deicide: Red Shift (41888 words) by VickytheSnake, thesavagesabretooth Chapters: 10/?
Summary: A mysterious signal is drawing ships across the Grand Line to a place called Elegia for the first ever concert by the rising star singer, Uta. Following the signal are Cross Guild and fallen emperor Shanks, the Charlotte family, the Donquixote Pirates and the shattered remnants of Law's crew, and Kid's crew, and Cavendish and Bartolomeo.
And the Straw Hats and their captain Luffy, who hasn't seen Uta since they were both little children at their idol Shanks' knee.
Perhaps this meeting was ordained by fate. Perhaps, in the end, there was only ever one tragic outcome possible.
But Luffy has other plans.
catch up here
-
"So uh—I imagine you're upset and confused, Stra—Luffy."
Confused and upset was the beginning of it at least. Luffy had rarely been knocked out of a good mood faster. From the high of seeing his sister again, and almost certainly convincing her to join his crew to…
Whatever this was.
Law was important to him.
If Law hadn't already been a fellow captain, Luffy would have dragged him onto his crew without hearing any argument about it. He was starting to think that he should have done so anyway because Law was apparently mind controlled, or poisoned, or had brain damage or something.
And where was the rest of his crew? Standing around with the Donquixote pirates (only a few of whom Luffy actually recognized, but the rest he could make assumptions on) Luffy saw Bepo… and Komurasaki. He didn't see any of the other guys that Law had introduced him to.
He did see Viola though.
And that was weird.
"I'm really fucking confused, Traffy." He put his hands on his hips, waiting to hear what the explanation would be. He'd dragged Robin over with him when Mingo had sidled up behind Law not because he expected her to be able to go toe to toe with him, but because he trusted her judgment. Robin would know what was going on, and she'd be able to tell him if he couldn't figure it out.
Viola waved at him pleasantly from the other side of the bridge. It was still weird.
Law grimaced, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Yeah well—I've had a really confusing couple of weeks. Things weren't exactly going to plan long after we split up after Wano. They kinda went to shit actually."
Robin made a soft 'hmmm' sound beside Luffy, her fingers moving to her chin as she peered up at Doflamingo—was she studying his expression?
"What do you mean by that? Did Mingo do something?"
"I'm hurt, Straw Hat," Doflamingo purred.
Luffy pointed at him. "I'm not talking to you."
-
This was a disaster. A fucking disaster. Straw Hat thought that—he didn't know, Doflamingo had sunk his ship and brainwashed him or something. Surely that fucking nonsense head of his was thinking up some elaborate scenario where the reasonable solution was his favorite—'punch the bad guy into paste, bang about it after'.
He rubbed his fingers on his temples before he hissed out a sigh and held up his hands.
"Mingo didn't do shit except pull us out of the drink, Strawhat-ya. It's goddamned BLACKBEARD who did somethin' to me!" The anger bubbled up in him like a fountain, his expression hardening as he hissed out. "Blackbeard ambushed us. Blackbeard sunk my sub and probably killed my entire crew. Saki and Bepo are the only ones who were with me when I woke up, fished out of the ocean by Doffy and his gang."
Robin tilted her head. "And—how exactly had you found him, Doflamingo? I thought you were sent to Impel Down."
"Am I allowed to speak?" Doffy drawled, looking imperiously down at Luffy.
Straw Hat shrugged. "Sure, fine, go ahead."
Doffy smiled and held up his hands. "I never made it to Impel Down. I was rescued— thanks to Sir Crocodile, as well as the valiant effort of our own dear Violet. We've been working with Croc's new gig, Cross Guild, since then."
Law watched Luffy look at Robin, probably looking for her to offer any additional information.
Robin's expression softened somewhat, her brow knitting together at the mention of Crocodile. "I see—so you're a part of Cross Guild now. Crocodile's answer to the World Government—I hear they've been doing admirable work."
She glanced up at Violet, who smiled at her and nodded her head, calling out from the other side of the bridge "I happened to notice the Polar Tang while providing recon—and I saw it get sunk with enough time to redirect our efforts towards Law's safety."
"Thanks again, Vi," Law gave her a weak smile before he looked at Luffy again. "They're working with Crocodile and Buggy and Mihawk now—and—-"
He made sure to watch Luffy's expression "Hancock Boa and the Kuja, as well as a bunch more."
Law's calculation had been correct, Luffy's expression softened at the mention of Hancock. He puffed his cheeks out for a moment, and blew out a long, slow breath that rustled his bangs under his hat.
He looked back at his crew for a moment– Law thought he saw him lock eyes with Vivi for a moment, before turning back to him.
"So… alright. So. Mingo never went to Impel Down. And he saved you from Blackbeard. And he's working with Crocodile and Hancock and… and what, Traffy? I thought you hated Mingo so much! You told me about it for like, hours while we were on our way from Punk Hazard to Dressrosa!"
In hindsight, it probably hadn't been his best pillow talk ever.
Law flushed down to his chest at the memory, and he pressed his hand to his face.
"I did hate him, Luffy—but I was angry, I was angry like you've been angry at people before. I'd hyped myself up for revenge for 13 years after I lost Cora—Rosi–--but after winning, I dunno…"
His shoulders sagged slightly "I grew up in the Donquixote family, after I lost my hometown they took me in—gave me shelter, friends, a home. Tried to help me stop tryin' to kill myself. And after I was convinced they were usin' me, and after I lost someone important to me, I let that anger drive me, hopefully I thought at the time, to my death."
Robin hummed under her breath. "Regret is a powerful emotion."
Luffy glanced over at Robin, and then back at the crew again. And then at Law.
"So, you're not mad at Mingo any more." He was quiet and for a moment his mouth was a hard line. "He hurt a lot of people, Traffy. All those people in Dressrosa. Rebecca. You remember Rebecca, right?"
"Of course I remember Rebecca!" Law said, running his hand through his hair with a sharp hiss "and trust me, I've laid into Dof—Doflamingo about it plenty. I'm not letting him pull anything like that again, ever."
And he had– moments when they were alone, he'd absolutely given him hell about it. Lots of threats of 'that's what happens when you go to far, you fucking idiot' and 'you aren't pulling anything like that again'.
"A lot. Rebecca, she deserved better than that shit, the people of Dressrosa? They also deserved better—-but where's Rebecca now, Strawhat?" He leaned in with a thin smile. "Didn't see her with the Strawhats, and I heard she fled Dressrosa."
"She left Dressrosa with us!" Luffy said huffily. "But she decided to stay with Sanji's siblings, I guess, after she met them."
Law watched him chewing his lip, as if chewing the whole thing over.
Doffy meanwhile chuckled. Law knew that Doffy already knew what Luffy said was true. He had been the one who told Law about it. And he'd heard it from Violet, her aunt.
"You mean the army of evil?" Law said carefully. "The army that's committed atrocities the world over as a hired gun for whoever paid top enough dollar? And then there's Alabasta—" he glanced at Robin, who looked briefly down with a soft 'hum' of breath.
Violet walked a little along the bridge with the click of her heels. "Luffy, if she's in range I can check on her and see how she's doing—she is my beloved niece after all."
"Your niece." Luffy bit his lip harder. He looked back at the crew again. "Sanji, you know her, right?" He waved toward Violet. "Is she Rebecca's aunt?"
Sanji stared at Luffy for a long moment, before he looked up at Violet with a suck on his cigarette "I never forget an angel—-yeah, that's the lovely Viola Rik—"
"Violet please," Violet corrected."I left that name behind when I fled home"
"But of course," Sanji dipped into a bow. "That's Violet, of the Riku family."
"Thanks, Sanji." Luffy nodded, and turned back to Violet, pointing at her. "You're Rebecca's aunt and you're here, too, huh? Alright, if you can check on Rebecca for me, that's fine. I'd like to know how she's doing."
Violet laughed into her hand. "I was—inspired by her, and I fled home as well. But I had difficulty abandoning my second family." She gave Doflamingo a lingering look, affectionate even with her slightly muted emotional expression.
Robin chewed her lip thoughtfully for a moment before she murmured to Luffy. "I think we should hold off on the violent approach. I don't believe Law is compromised—but we'll face this with caution."
Luffy slowly nodded.
Violet raised her fingers to her eyes and seemed to concentrate, her eyes opening wide and intense behind the 'focusing lenses' she used to zero in her powers—only something seemed to go wrong.
First her lips formed a sharp frown—and then her eyes widened and pinpricked behind her circled fingers. "I…I…I…"
She stammered, Law had never heard the woman stammer before, she was always so surefooted with her words, but here she was starting to shake and stutter out the same aborted sentence over and over.
"I…I…"
Immediately the whole family turned toward her. Doffy fucking rushed to her side, scooping his arms around her. "Vi? Are you alright?"
"What's wrong with her?" Luffy demanded, staring.
Violet was shaking as she stumbled back into Doffy's arms with a voice filled with blind panic. "I'm blind—" she murmured. "there's—there's something, it's not—"
Law wheeled around with a frown "is she having a stroke? Hold her steady, let me have a look at her!"
"Elegia is—isn't—I can't see—" her eyes rolled back as her fingers dropped from her face as her entire body went slack in a dead faint into Doflamingo's arms.
Luffy whirled around. "Chopper!"
Concern shot through the group like a bullet—Sanji had rushed across the bridge to her almost as soon as she dropped as the Straw Hats and the Donquixotes dropped their feud for long enough to rush to tend to the fallen member.
Law met Chopper in the middle, helping the small reindeer doctor to Violet's side as they began checking vitals. She was out cold, though her body still shook against Doffy's and the occasional murmur broke through the stupor—she sounded scared.
Law was terrified to know what scared the unflappable dancer Violet of the Donquixotes. What was it about this Island—this fucking concert—that could scare the woman who saw everything?
-
When Violet had passed out everyone had rushed to help. Donquixotes, Straw Hats—there was a tense and temporary truce declared while the doctors went to work. With Violet stabilized and in the care of Chopper and Caesar, they'd taken refuge in one of the empty guard booths on the far side of the bridge.
Her vitals were stable, and Law couldn't find anything amiss— not even a clot of blood that might have sent her into a panic and a dead faint. He'd left her in the care of the two doctors while the Donquixotes and the Straw Hats stared one another down. Things were tense, but—at the very least violence was averted.
It was clear everyone was confused, which was fair. Law knew this whole situation was a stupid and confusing mess. The silence was broken only a few times by some attempts at friendly conversation—which was exactly when Luffy had grabbed him and started to drag him off for a 'chat', while Jinbei was left on what Luffy called 'Mingo Guard Duty'.
They stood now in one of the empty rooms of the guard house—why the fuck was it empty anyway??? Where were the guards?? — as Law rubbed his arm with a grimacing smile. "Hey, Straw Hat…"
Luffy closed the door of the little garret room that seemed to have once been used as some kind of break room. There was a rough wooden table, a couple of matching stools, and a crude wooden bed with some straw and a couple of blankets.
"Hey," Luffy nodded. "So. You're not brainwashed or something."
Law held his hands up. "I ain't brainwashed, Luffy!"
He knew why the guy was worried, sure—there were powers on the grand line that could twist even someone's thoughts—but it was rare enough that he was still a little surprised it was where Luffy's mind instantly went.
"Okay." Luffy nodded, still leaning against the door. "I wanted to make sure because you were really, really fucking mad at Mingo and usually I'm the one who just… stops being angry. People have told me that's weird."
Law laughed sharply. "Yeah, well—it is a little fucking weird, Luffy. But I'm kinda weird too. I…" His brow furrowed as he crossed his arms over his chest. "I wasted a lot of my life just thinkin' about revenge, Straw Hat. 13 years of holdin' a grudge."
"That's a long time to be mad," Luffy agreed, biting his lip. "I don't think I could stay that mad for that long. I'd just burn up."
Law looked up at him.
"Which is exactly what I was doin', Luffy. I was burning up, I'd intended on dying basically as soon as we were done, you know. But you kept me alive—and I dunno. When we were sailing from Wano, I realized how much that fire burned away. Especially when Blackbeard sunk my ship, took my crew from me besides Bepo and Komurasaki, who was only on the crew for a few fucking days."

Luffy looked at him with his big, dark eyes. "You were planning on dying?"
The realization hit Luffy in the chest like a fist. It was just like with Robin. Robin who had never planned on making it out of her last encounter with Crocodile. Robin, who had put Luffy in charge of her life after he saved her.
Maybe he'd realized it in the back of his mind that Law was the same way. Maybe he'd just unconsciously known that he had to keep him close.
So maybe that meant that what Law was going through now was like if Robin had gotten picked back up by Croc. Croc who was friends with Vivi now. Croc who, he was pretty sure, had made up with Robin, too.
And Croc who was apparently working with Mingo.
And Mingo who had apparently saved Law's life.
Law nodded with a wry smile. "I'd been planning on dying since I was a kid, Luffy. Even more so after—after Rosi died because of me. Shit, you know how I met the Donquixotes? Have I ever told you that story?"
Luffy shook his head. If Law had ever told him, he didn't remember it. And with the way Law was talking, he was pretty sure whatever it was was memorable.
Law's smile took on a feral edge as he squeezed his arms tighter around himself. "I'd lost my family to the disease I knew was gonna kill me before I left my teens, my whole town had been killed, and everyone treated me and the marks on my skin like the plague even if it wasn't even fucking communicable."
He mimed pulling something from his belt. "So I'd decided I was going to burn down as much as I could before I died. Ran into the Donquixotes when I'd strapped myself with stolen grenades. Told them that if they didn't take me on and let me cause as much damage as I could before I died, then I'd suicide bomb 'em right then and there."
Luffy felt his stomach lurch again, and his gaze was drawn to Law's hands at his belt, lingering on them before he snapped back up to look at his face. He could picture it, in his mind's eye. It grabbed him by the heart. It made him think of Nami. Of Sabo.
Of himself, in another world.
He remembered the look on Robin's face the first time he met her. And the look on her face at Enies Lobby when she called out to him.
Could Law see that every hair on his body was standing on end?
"What happened?" Luffy asked quietly.
Law seemed to look at him with his dark, long lashed eyes in a way that said he might have—he took a meandering step towards him but stopped and ran his hand through his hair with a thin smile
He took a deep breath before he continued. "Doffy took me in. He took responsibility for me, you know? Sure, he'd said that if I wanted to kill and destroy that badly I could do it in his name, but it was pretty clear pretty fast that he'd taken responsibility for me. I mean—even though I knew I was dying and that I wasn't going to make it past a handful of years, he still cared for me. He still educated me, trained me to be his Corazon in the future, and made sure I had things to live for even when I was sure I was about to die."
Luffy was tempted to go and pull him into a hug right then— but he hesitated. He wanted to know the rest of the story. He thought he knew the rest of the story, but now he felt like he didn't understand it.
"But what about what you told me?" he asked, thinking back to their days huddled together on the ship between Punk Hazard and Dressrosa. "What about Cora-san, and the snow, and your fruit? And how Mingo only wanted to use you."
Hearing about it had made him think of Nami back then, too. Of the room full of maps and the smug, nasty look on Arlong that Luffy had been all too excited to punch right off of his face. Luffy couldn't stand people who used others, who forced them to do what they wanted instead of following their own dreams. It reminded him of his Grandfather.
But now he was realizing he wasn't sure what Law's dream had ever been.
Law grimaced again, and his fingers lingered over his tattoo, that smiling face in the center of his chest.
"I dunno if Cora really believed it, or was just trying to get me out of there, Luffy—but he was a marine. A marine sent into the Donquixote family on the inside to get intel and break them apart. I loved him for trying to save me, but that doesn't mean everything he said was honest."
Law looked down. "It's complicated, but he was convinced his brother was born evil and he'd done everything he could to drive away anyone Doffy took in, Baby 5 and me included. When Cora fled with me, and we went through hospital after hospital—I was desperate, and dying, and when he told me that he found that fruit and that Doffy only wanted it to make himself immortal, I believed it."
"But it… wasn't true?" Luffy guessed. He shuffled toward him.
Everything felt uncertain these last few days. Everything he thought he knew had turned upside down. Shanks was untrustworthy– a man who never cared about him except for wanting to make him into a god. A man who'd abandoned his own crewmate, his own adopted daughter, and lied about it.
If Luffy could be that wrong about Shanks, maybe he could be that wrong about Mingo too.
Yes, Mingo had hurt a lot of people. Hurt people that Luffy cared about, like Rebecca. But Luffy wasn't some pure innocent soul who never hurt people when he was mad.
There had even been that stupid time so long ago when he had been ready to beat the shit out of Zoro.
Who the hell even knew why people did anything? Who knew who was right or wrong, and or who was worth loving and who was worth leaving to die?
The god in his head that Shanks thought was so good and noble had wanted to kill Kaidou. Maybe he should have done it, too, if he was a good, noble person.
But Luffy was not a good, noble person. He was not a hero. He was a pirate.
Luffy watched as Law grimaced and answered him stiffly. "It wasn't true. Turns out the person he stole the fruit from was the guy that Doffy was trying to buy it from— and it wasn't for immortality, it's too risky of an experiment even if he did want it. It's uncertain if it'll work, it needs perfect trust—it's suicide. He wanted it because it could cure me. But Cora got it first and— and then he died, and it convinced me that it was all because Doffy was pissed because his plan failed. So I —I swore revenge."
He threw up his hands with a sharp grin. "13 years of being pissed off due to a misunderstanding fostered by a marine who probably meant well, but drove me against the guy who tried taking me in as part of the family. Made me destroy my relationship with my best friends, Buffalo and Baby 5, and— and for what?"
For what? That was a good question. They'd 'saved Dressrosa', he guessed. They'd returned the doll people to humans, but that was like… that was hero stuff. Luffy didn't actually care about that. Really the only things he cared about were helping Rebecca, which had been accomplished, and helping Law which, he had to admit, even at the time hadn't seemed like it turned out exactly as Law had planned.
In hindsight, Luffy was pretty sure that he'd made a complete mess of whatever Law's plan had been.
But anyway aside from saving Rebecca it had all been a wash.
"I donno," he admitted. "I guess I can see where you're coming from, a bit, Traffy."
"Glad you can at least see it a bit, Straw Hat." Law pressed his hand to his face. "Anyway. Dressrosa's free, right? And Rebecca's running around with the fucking slaughter-brigade for hire made up of genetically engineered mass-murderers, so she's doing well probably—"
He gave him a weak smile. "and Doffy's working with Cross Guild, who really are doin' something important here. Fighting the World Government like only pirates can. And he offered me a place again, even after all the shit I did to him."
Luffy found himself biting his lip. "And you took it, huh? It was something you wanted to do? What about being a pirate captain?"
He was pretty sure he already knew the answer to that, though. Law's crew was gone. They'd been decimated by Blackbeard.
Luffy looked at Law and for a moment he saw Gecko Moria. He saw the Crocodile that Robin had told him about.
He saw himself, shuddering in Hancock's lap in some horrible world where his whole crew had died at Sabaody and Marineford.
And as far as he could tell, Law had never even wanted to be a pirate captain, or to go after the One Piece either. It was just… stuff that had happened to him.
Before Law could answer him, another question– not quite the same– tumbled out of his mouth. "Is being Corazon what you want to do, then?"
Law nodded slowly as he dropped himself on the edge of the bed, fingers tented like they'd been all those years ago on Sabaody. He smiled, though it was tentative—maybe he wasn't sure how Luffy would react.
"Yeah, Luffy—I want to be Corazon. I'd wanted it when I was a kid, and now I've got the chance again. I've got my crew, what's left of it, in my 'army', I've got the family, I've got a dream."
He leaned forward with his elbows on his knees. "They're good people, Luffy. I ain't given up on getting across the Grand Line right behind ya, but—I'm happy doing it with them, too. Especially since it means I can fix some mistakes."
Luffy shuffled forward across the room and dropped himself on the bed next to Law. He leaned his head on his shoulder. Luffy had been happy for people for chasing way stupider dreams. And he was friends with people who were probably just as bad, if not worse than however bad Mingo was. Hadn't Luffy been so excited to be friends with Jaggy– Captain Kid before they left Wano? And Jaggy's temper was famous, and he was well known for just getting pissed off and murdering people.
If Law said that Mingo and his family were good people, and Law wanted to be Corazon, then Luffy was not going to stop him, or say he was wrong. Even if a little jealous part of him had wished he'd been the one to drag him onto his own crew.
This was what Law wanted. Luffy could tell. There wasn't anything false in what Law was saying.
He nuzzled his shoulder with the top of his head, his hat hanging around his neck.
"Okay. If it's your dream, then I'm happy for you."
Law visibly relaxed—hell, a moment later he grabbed Luffy in a tight hug to draw him close as he laughed with quiet relief. "Thanks, Luffy. This ain't gonna change anything between us, least not for me-– but I'm gonna be happy to introduce you to the gang. I think you'll like 'em when we ain't just fighting our way through 'em."
Luffy wrapped his arms around him tightly, holding him close. "Good! So… we're not going to be enemies, then? I was hoping not!"
-
It was a miracle. Despite Law's anxieties that Luffy wouldn't come around—that he'd see Law joining the Donquixotes as some kind of betrayal and refuse to see that they were all on the same damn side— Luffy was hugging him tight and seemed to understand.
He smiled a bit, lightly patting the captain of the Straw Hats on the back.
"Tch—course we ain't enemies! Hell, the only reason the Donquixotes were against us in the first place was because shit went sideways, but—we're all on the same side now. And even if we weren't…" He squeezed Luffy tighter and murmured, "Doffy's so happy I'm back he basically does anything I ask. I'd just tell him that we had to make up with ya, or I'd walk… and he'd do it."
Luffy giggled, his arms curled double around him, and it was very encouraging to hear him actually laugh after seeing his serious face and intense stare for so long. "Oh? You've got him wrapped around your finger, huh?"
It was impossible to know what was ever going on behind Luffy's staring eyes—but it must have been good. He was glad, real glad for that.
Law snickered with a nod. "That's right, I do. Poor bastard's down bad, which is good. I can steer him away from his dumber ideas. And—I'll be honest, the whole family's pretty easy to get along with. Baby 5's gotten attached, like 'attached at the hip' attached, to Saki. So if I ask Saki to convince her, she'll be on my side too."
"Baby 5 is the one who was pointing a gun at me?" Luffy asked, blinking. "I don't think I actually met her before, did I?"
"They were all pointing guns at you, Luffy." Law snorted as he tugged at Luffy's hair. "She's the one who turned into a gun. The one who was yellin' to me. You uh—" he thought for a moment. "Might have kept missing her. She's one of Pica's assassins. Sweet girl, we grew up together."
"Pica's the really big guy with the funny voice, right? Traffy, I think you're gonna have to introduce everybody to me again, because that whole day in Dressrosa is kind of a blur."
That was unsurprising, really. Luffy had spent most of the day running around, screaming and punching people really, really hard. His rubbery brain probably did not remember much in the way of fine details.
Law grabbed his shoulders and looked down at him with a laugh.
"Yeah, no shit Luffy. I doubt you remember jack shit about it—so…I'll introduce you around, alright? It'll be fun, just uh—when you see Pica try not to make fun of his voice, ok ? He's sensitive about it and he MIGHT start a fight if you do."
Luffy hesitated. "A good fight or a bad fight? He does have a funny voice, Traffy. But I don't want to be mean to your friend."
"I mean at this point probably just an arm wrestle until you can convince him not to stew about it but—ya know," Law chuckled with a shake of his head. "Everyone's got their peculiarities in the DQ family. Bunch of freaks and weirdos."
Luffy nuzzled him again, climbing halfway into his lap. "Well, it sounds like you really like them. So I'm sure we'll figure it out. And maybe I'll even remember some of their names."
Law flushed, and nestled him more firmly on his lap to wrap his arms around him with a nuzzle to the top of his head.
"I do, we'll figure it out—" he laughed. "Maybe you'll remember their names. And hell…maybe you and Mingo'll get along, huh? He's a huge fan of your sister's, you know. Like, fucking obsessed. That's why we're here."
"Oh yeah! She's kind of a fan of his too, I saw his wanted poster on the wall of her dressing room!" Luffy laughed, and put his hands against Law's bare chest. "Do you think we have time to make out a little, or do we need to go make sure nobody's thinking about killing each other?"
Law was thrown by the first half of the sentence. "She's a fan of Do–" and then the second half hit and sent his face flushing "...."
He smirked , rolling his eyes. "You never change, Straw Hat. I think we got a lil' time before they come kicking the door down."
"Perfect!" Luffy grabbed the waistband of Law's pants on either side of his hips and grinned widely. Typical Luffy behavior. "Oh hey, have you made out with Mingo? Is he a good kisser?"
Typical Luffy question.
Law sputtered , before he grabbed Luffy's shoulders and shut him up with a kiss. He'd answer that—later. When the very fucking question didn't make Law want to implode in embarrassment. Until then he'd stall the best way he knew how when it came to Luffy—amorous distraction.

Wait, We Have a Talking Cat?!? (Shanks x Fem Reader)
@kazenomegaminowanpisu ask for shanks x fem reader and that fem reader adopts a magical cat. I got my inspiration for my sassy magical cat from Salem from Sabrina the Teenage Witch. I wanted a really sassy cat and Salem was the sassiest! Well, I hope you like it and thanks for the request my friend!
Being the only girl on the Red Force could be lonely. Yes, you were with Shanks. He was the best boyfriend ever, but you know what they say. Boys will be boys. And boy, did those boys live by that phrase. “Hey Shanks,” you asked one night while laying with him in bed, “can I get a cat?”
He looked over at you puzzled. “I mean sure Y/N but why?”
You sighed, “I used to have a cat as a kid named Bingo and I loved that cat. I think it would be fun, plus I’m the only girl so I’d be nice to have a companion that isn’t a grown man.”
Shanks looked at you. His gray eyes looked into your (e/c) ones. He caressed his lovely girlfriend’s right cheek with his hand. “Then on the next island you can go adopt a cat. I’ll tell the boys now. It’ll be like we have Uta back!”
“Are you comparing your own daughter to a cat? Why?”
“Both can be adorable but will rip your head off when angry.”
“Oh god,” you laughed while rolling your eyes.
***
When you reached the next island, you headed straight for the shops, while Shanks and the rest of the crew headed to the bars. You saw one little pet shop called “Ms. Crystal’s Pets and Magical Goods”. You walked inside and it was not like any shop you had ever seen. The walls were a dark maroon shade while all the lighting was fairy lights or pendants that looked like stars or moons. The shelves were lined with not only pet toys and pet food, but also small little trinkets. You approached the old orniet oak counter where a sweet looking old woman stood. “Hello dear,” she said with a smile, “what can I help you with?”
You smiled back, “I’m looking for a cat. Do you have any?”
“Of course. And I know just the right one for you.”
She disappeared into the back, while you awaited your new little furry friend.
***
“So he lost his arm saving my namesake,” your cat Luffy asked you. The sweet old lady at the pet store told you that this cat was special, it had magical powers. Besides talking, he could also create objects out of thin air, which came in handy when you ram out of important materials and supplies on the ship. Everyone knew about Luffy’s powers on the ship, everyone except Shanks. All the other boys found out when Luffy accidentally started talking to them about giving him a pet. Benn Beckham’s came when he asked him what Benn was short for: Benjamin, Bennet, Benedict, Bennifer. Luffy talked in front of Shanks, but he was drunk and thought he was seeing things.
“He did lose it saving Luffy,” you replied, “Luffy is a devil fruit user and was drowning so Shanks went in and saved him, but a Sea King ate Shanks’ arm.”
“So my name sake is an idiot?”
“No, he was seven and was thrown into the water.”
Luffy laughed. He was definitely a sassy cat, but you were just as sassy. “Well, I’m hungry, so I’m getting a snack. Do you want anything? Tuna? Maybe a devil fruit like the other Luffy? Then you can go for a swim.”
“I’d love one…wait, are you trying to kill me? Never mind you can’t live without me,” the black cat said, putting emphasis on me.
“Tuna it is then.” you laughed walking out of the room to the kitchen.
A few moments later someone walked into yours and Shanks’ room. Luffy spoke up, “I hope you brought me the nice tuna from the blue can, and not that garbage kind in the red one.”
There was no answer. Luffy looked up and noticed a surprised Shanks, grey eyes wide open.
“Oh crap,” the black cat said with his emerald green eyes wide in shock.
When you return from the kitchen you notice your main man and your magical cat staring at each other.
“When were you going to tell me our cat talked? Does the rest of the crew know?” Shanks asked, grabbing your shoulders, staring at you in complete disbelief.
“All the boys know. Luffy’s talked to you a lot, but you’ve been really drunk,” you laughed.
“I was also the one who created that necklace you bought Y/N for her birthday,” Luffy interrupted. Shanks stared at the cat and then at you.
“He creates objects too! Oh my god I love this cat. What else can you do Luffy?”
“That’s about it but don’t ask me to make you a new arm. I like you, but I tried that once with my old owner. Now she has an extra leg.”
“Awesome.”
“You’re not mad about the cat?” you asked. You were scared that he would want you to get rid of the cat since you never told him.
He smashes his lips into yours. “Of course not. Even if Luffy wasn’t a cool magical cat and instead hated me, I’d let you keep him.”
You kissed him on the cheek and said, “I love you Shanks! If you excuse me, I’m going to go get water.”
“Love you too,” he answered back.
He sat with Luffy for a few seconds in silence until his new favorite feline asked, “So Beckham, does Benn stand for Benjamin or Bennifer?”

I saw your post about sending asks about one piece so here I am.
Wing AU Mihawk and Shanks being mates and secretly married. Shanks finding it hilarious that a warlord, an ally to the Marines, is married to a Yonko and one of the most powerful pirates. Mihawk accidentally acquiring Zoro after Zoro gets lost and ends up following Mihawk. DadHawk with his baby birb and Shanks laughing and saying Mihawk is like him with collecting children. Shanks with his baby birbs Uta and Luffy. Happy birb family.
I apologize it took me so long to get to this but yessssss! I love shit like this ten outta ten ask my you alway get discounts from you local retail. My your pillow he alway the right softness and your steak alway cooked to perfection. 💜 ✨
Alright, I adore AUs like this because of the world-building you can do. Like, people have big-ass wings attached to their backs? What does that look like at sea? Fighting? Houses? Sleeping? How do people have different instincts or traditions? Have cultures changed in some way, or how did all people suddenly have wings?
It's a fun playground, but throw in found family and ships, it gets even better. But let's add a twist to this: say Devil Fruit users can't fly? Just as the Mother Sea cursed them to never swim, Father Sky cursed them to the earth and Devil Fruit users' wings basically become useless after they eat one. It doesn't impact all users; some can fly naturally with their powers, or if you have a bird zoan fruit, it usually cancels out the flightlessness. But those stuck on the ground, dragging that heavy, useless weight around, tantalized with freedom that can never be... well, it would drive some mad.
It's not popular, but not uncommon for a Devil Fruit user to just remove their wings. Which, if you think about the cultural and societal implications of wings, for communication, rituals, gender identity, courting, family bounding and friendships- One can only assume that is you have extra appendages they be incorporated into one’s communication, just like how you move your arms when gesturing or quirking eyebrow to ask a question, they could be used to show anger, attention, fear or attraction. Being well, removing a whole-ass way of communicating and engaging with community, even if they’re useless; would be I feel a great taboo and another way for the world government to fear monger. I'm guessing in some cultures it's considered the greatest punishment or the greatest shame.
But if this little tidbit is true, think about baby Luffy. Just getting his flight feathers in, this little ball of down, learning to swim and just starting to fly. Maybe Shanks helps him; maybe he laughs and goads him on with every hop and skip just a few seconds in the air. Just for him to crash down. But he gets back up again, determined to fly longer, to go higher, and Shanks watches him and feels this swell of something like warmth and a little bit like fondness under his breastbone as Luffy comes back disheveled, covered in dirt and pouting. He remakes his nest a little bigger when he gets back to his ship that night. Adds blankets and some pillows, the down he's kept from Mihawk and Uta and other members of the crew, picked through and rearranged. He's a little too drunk to think of it in a moment, but the realization does come halfway off to dreams that of, "Oh, shit, I haven't done this since Uta!"
He, of course, panics in the morning, hungover and acting like the world's going to end. Shaking Benn like a rag doll, ranting like a loon, and, of course, he gets punched in the head for his trouble, and then laughed at because, "Captain, you've been inducting Luffy into our flock since the last trip; you've only now noticed?"
And Shanks has, like, this come-to-One-Piece-Jesus moment where all the little moments—of preening Luffy's feathers, weaving his fluffy down into his own wings, letting Luffy keep the bright red feathers that fell from his wings, Luffy giving them colorful things like shells, beetles, buttons, and rocks—just click into his head.
And he realizes shit I’m a dad again. Mihawks going to kill me… or laugh his ass off. (Mihawk is dealing with his own child acquisition at this point Shanks no worries, you can both commiserate together.)
There would be more bonding after that. Small, soft moments where Makino would watch and see her dark, velvet green feathers matched with Shanks' red. Luffy's never had people, never had friends before, never had a parent, and as much as Makino tries to help this poor little boy in his two empty house with his two empty eyes, she has never had the ability to be wholly what he needs. He needed a family, something full to bursting with love and joy, and she had never seen the little fledgling with more joy than the Red Force.
There is tragedy, of course. Luffy still eats his Devil Fruit. And Shanks is now filled with a guilt he will never be able to forgive. He crippled this poor kid before he'd even taken his first flight. He'd stolen the sky from his fledgling, so it's more fitting he loses a wing in return.
In this AU, because of the wings, humans have other instincts. Of course, if you had giant shields on your back, you'd use them instead of reaching out your arm, shielding Luffy and himself. Shanks pulls off armament just a bit too slow. And the Lord of the Coast bites the top of his left wing, teeth sinking in as Shanks screams, and flesh, as well as feathers, are ripped from him in a shower of blood and down so red you can't tell what's feathers and what's viscera.
His wing flops limp in the boat and bleeds all the way back to shore, no matter how much they try to stem it. Shanks is pale by the time the Red Force finds them, pale and cold, holding a sobbing Luffy to his chest as he tries to soothe. "It's only a wing, Luffy; it's only a wing."
God I’ve fallen in love with this au, me and it are sloppy kissing at the back of dennys in my brain. I’ve started writing a Shanks and Mihawk thing for this and definitely will add in Zoro and Mihawks and the sudden ‘father hood be upon ye’ that they get to deal with. It’s along the lines of who is that feral green child?—And said feral child is trying to stab him but also Mihawk keeps correcting his form and then eventually gets fed up and start actually teaching Zoro to stab properly. Type of energy.

Does anyone ever think about in the carnage left behind by the war waging between the Pirates and the Marines? That's a whole heap of bodies, and a whole heap of families that are likely missing their loved ones. Who's job is it to clean up the mess and arrange funerals for the recently departed? I'll tell you.
Chains & Gallows
Undertakers: Death Janitors of the Universe
History
Gallows is an ex-marine. He discovered the remains of his longtime friend and bunkmate laid out in the snow to perish alone with his chest riddled in bullets. When he recovered the body and mourned the loss, he felt the call to ask permission of his superiors to choose this as an alternative line of work for the marines. The marines saw no need to decline this request, and allowed him to pursue it as a career.
Chains was found by Gallows isolated in a cave years later, remains of his travelling mates lying motionless and unresponsive beside him. Gallows was sent to destroy all evidence of life in the area to clean up after the celestial dragons. He took one look at Chains and felt disinclined to persue that course of action. Gallows wanted to protect Chains, and offered him a job to aid him in his personal quest.
In his mind: life ends up the same way in the end. All departed needs to be respected, no matter their contract or creed. He resigned from the marines and persued neutrality with Chains as his muscle. The marines pursued him initially, but found attempting to trial their undertaker for deserting to be rather tedious. In the end, they let him be. He was doing his job cleaning up, and that was enough for them.
Their Dynamic
The only person to see the situation beneath Chains' mask is Gallows. Neither of them talk about it, and will deflect conversation if it ever is asked about. Chains does not speak: words are muffled behind the shroud, and Gallows has learned to translate for him.
They are platonic life mates: two souls meant to meet in every life, one form or another. Gallows is older than Chains, and Chains sees Gallows as a beacon of light in a world filled with misery. They love one another incredibly deeply.
Gallows: "Oh, him? Yeah, don't mind him. He's just a little peeved he missed out on those Uta tickets."
Chains: "!!!"
Gallows: "Yeah, I know. Next time, big guy."
Peculiarities
Chains accessorises his mask and former slave brackets on his wrists with magnets he thinks are cute. Although he looks intimidating and could snap a person like a toothpick, he is a massive softie. His weaknesses are cute things. If he thinks it's cute, it's coming home with him.
Gallows has a devil fruit: the "Shroom-Shroom" fruit. He uses blight and decay to bury the long departed in the ground that is allocated for them to find their eternal rest. He only uses this if absolutely necessary to clean up unidentifiable remains. He will not use it in battle, it does not make for a pleasant experience for the living, and he doesn't enjoy seeing suffering.
They both wear matching earrings.

i need to know what you think about uta being ace's and sabo's sister too... like imagine a perfect world where uta existed without the mess of film red (i did enjoy it but also uhhhhhhhh there are a lot of weird things abt it bc i dont think shanks would actually take in uta like that considering he did experience piracy as a kid. so why would he put uta through that even if she'd stay put on the ship–) ANYWAY. so lets say shanks found uta after obtaining the devil fruit and takes her to the nearest island (dawn island.) then found makino and luffy and convinces her to stay w them or whatever.
i imagine that ace and uta do bicker w each other a lot. however sabo is very kind and excited to have a sister!! he's protective of her and enjoys her songs. (which brings out a surprising singing side from sabo ehe...)
i also imagine that uta is as rowdy and gluttonous as her brothers tbh. i mean, she's the only girl there so she's more than likely to be influenced by them. ALSO imagine uta being raised by dadan wheewwwww.... i think if she was raised alongside asl bros, she'd end up way different than she did in film red and well- actually become a pirate– (maybe rivaling with her brothers? that or she acts as luffy's biggest rival to be pirate king as her way of supporting his dream) (idk im just thinking as i type)
so everythings the same but uta is there with three insane brothers (shes as insane too... she is their equal). though it's lowkey clear dadan has a favorite (she loves a tough daughter) and god everything w garp would be so insane too like. before sabo was accepted and started living with the bandits, garp was happy to have a granddaughter (till she said she wanted to become a pirate too 😭) BUT he makes sure ace and luffy treats their sister right and is again being a favorite– however, she wouldn't suck up to him like that. like how the brothers would shield each other from garp, she would also shield them from garp !!
"leave my little brothers alone, old geezer!"
and yes, even if uta is a year younger than ace and sabo, she still would call herself a big sister (especially for knowing luffy longer than the other two. shes just used to being the older one)
anyway... lets say asul au is a tjing, now consider ASUL + S as we love talking about asl+s. with uta around, sanji likely thinks that all sisters are good because shes nice to him too. and how she clearly loves her brothers too. but ofc, uta surrounded by brothers while claiming to be the big sister, makes sanji incredibly jealous about their sibling relationship. it reminds him of reiju and his brothers, how they never really got along. while asul got along really well. they fight a lot but it's never with the intention to hurt each other or make the other feel worthless.
and who am i if i dont bring up sabosan at some point LOL. (also mb that this ask is so long i just love uta sm and i love aus sooo bad <<3) uta is definitely one of the first to notice her brothers' fondness of sanji. she is fond as him as well but not the same way as them lol. she tells sanji some secrets about sabo and sanji just cannot tell if shes actually serious or not because of how mischievous her smile is. and uta absolutely teases sabo about sanji, especially when hes not around like– that little song that little kids sing when it comes to someone havinf a crush.
"sabo and sanji sitting in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g !"
and luffy definitely chimes in while sabo is beet red and begging them to shut up fkldjfldj. makino and uta Looooves gossiping about sabo and sanji. makino does ask to tone down her teasing, which she does, but she can't help but push each other's buttons.
idk theres just a lot to think about if uta was raised with asl brothers and uta growing up to be a pirate :^)
THIS IS SO CUTE !!!! Honestly, Film Red never sat right with me but not exactly because of Shanks' decision of keeping Uta. I see that pretty much in character for the guy-- What I don't like is the way they rushed the ending and the way it all ended, in general. It's just obvious they wanted to do Uta's story but in a way that didn't affect the canon and it's just- Stupid. Idk.
But let's say Shanks meets Uta and spend some years together and she does consider him her father (as I see it, because in this sibling group all of them have to have daddy issues. Except Luffy. Because more than daddy issues he just. Doesn't care-) but he leaves her with Luffy because he says it will be good for her. I think she wouldn't agree with his decision and something like in the movie would happen. Where he just... Leaves. And Uta ends up hating him or at least resenting him a bit. And it's obvious he did for her and he had good intentions but she's just a kid, so she genuinely takes it personal. So, yeah, the girl stays as Luffy's older sister, basically. At least this is how I see it.
Then Sabo and Ace appear and- It's chaotic.
Imo, she's still a diva and she still loves music because it's in her blood and also, she spent some time with Shanks so she already has a bit of her personality made. But being with them makes her learn more about protecting herself and being a bit ruthless, although I think she's more of the type to ler her brothers do the dirty work and only follow them in their shenanigans if they go "You only say that because you can't do it!!" (<- Ace, definitely) and she has to prove she can be as strong as them. So she's a diva but she's a bit more impulsive and reacts in a more violent way. Especially with food too.
I think she wouldn't get along much with Ace at first because he's a mess and she's also a mess and they're really similar when it comes to being Luffy's older siblings so they wouldn't agree on most stuff. But daddy issues are a good way of bonding and I'm pretty damn sure that if Ace ever said "Should I have been born?" in front of her, she would go insane trying to make him see that everybody deserves to live.
With Sabo, though, I think they'd get along pretty well. Sabo is still chaotic but a bit calmer than Ace and he has a strong ideology that Uta would definitely share. He wants to make a statement for freedom and Uta agrees and tbh, he's a writer and she's a singer and there's no better friendship than that one.
Her relationship with Luffy is pretty much the same, except that she now acts way more as a sister and not only as a past friend. Of course. She joins them drinking too!!
Ngl, you can hate me for this but I think the events of Red could easily happen... Again... I mean... Not exactly those events but-- Uta's dream would obviously be to reach everyone with her music. To make them feel seen and loved and making them see they should live. Because after spending so much time with her brothers, she wants to sing songs for the rest of the people that feel the same way they do. She always has them in mind when she sings and she always, always, tries to make them have fun and enjoy life. I think Uta's perception of living and freedom would clash a lot with Ace's and she'd try to make him want to live through music. Same with with freedom and Sabo/Luffy.
But then Sabo dies. And Ace dies. But Sabo comes back and-- I am sorry, and I know it partially was the mushroom's fault, but she's kind of unstable mentally (who isn't in this show tbh) and it wouldn't surprise me that her blatant optimistic views would make her want to do exactly what happens in Red again. But I think this time it should be Sabo and Luffy the ones saving her and, you know, idk, maybe Shanks is there too but this isn't about him today. Whatever. She doesn't hurt anyone and it has a good ending, but it's not the point of the post--
So Sanji is there with them! Following what we've already been saying about Sanji staying with the ASL bros but now adding Uta!!
Uta would absolutely. Adore. Sanji. He's the perfect little sibling. He's cute and knows how to cook and he's literally everything that's right in this world. She complains about Luffy crying but when Sanji does so she only says it's cute and that he deserves to cry-- Uta likes cute stuff canonically and Sanji is the cutest thing, so it makes sense. Also, Sanji just assumes every woman in the world is perfect from that very second because between his mom, Reiju and now Uta he has only had good experiences with girls. He does feel kind of left out at first remembering everything that happened with the Vinsmokes, but Uta always tries to include him in every little thing!
She really likes teasing him and Sabo, though. Uta might adore Sanji but that doesn't mean she isn't a little bit mean to him. It's obvious that they like like each other because, you know, they're kids. Look at them. It's obvious. Uta knows, Luffy knows, Ace knows... Sabo and Sanji spend so much time alone and Sabo always tries to be next to him and he looks at Sanji with like, literal heart eyes.
Uta: Do you like Sanji? Sabo: Sanji? No. No. No. Sanji's just a friend... Uta: Why are your eyes shaped like hearts? Sabo: Allergies...
Uta is an artist. A singer. She's 100% a hopeless romantic. I will die on this hill. So while Ace is extremely "ughhhh" *disgusted noises* by Sanji and Sabo's flirting and Luffy couldn't care less (he just likes teasing them because it's fun to see them panicking), Uta tries HARD to get them together. They're listening to her songs? She will sing a romantic one. They're alone? She will gently push one of them closer to the other. They eat spaghetti once and she goes all the way to try to do the thing where they eat the same one so they kiss. Etc etc etc. She won't stop being a little brat about it too, teasing both of them. And it's driving Sabo crazy. Makino asks Uta about the kids because she knows the girl is as invested as her in the relationship. Funniest thing in the world.
Now I can't stop thinking about them spearating when Sabo dies, following what we said etc etc etc And Uta becomes a famous singer. She doesn't kill anybody, okay? Let's leave it on her just- Doing a huge concert. Sanji and Sabo have already reunited but please, imagine these two not dating just yet. They're in love and pining but not dating. Everyone hates it. And then Sabo joins them for the concert, ofc, and when Uta sees them again (and sees Sabo is alive?? Because what the fuck why didn't they tell her???) one of the first thing she says is "Okay, okay... So you two are... You know?" and they don't understand what she's saying but literally all the crew is like "They're still pining. Please. It's awful". Girl makes it everyone's problem so she does this kiss cam thing to get them together finally. Like I said, good ending.
#sorry for replying so late i have like. a ton of asks and not enough time wekjjbjkrbf#but this is literally amazing i adore this#uta my absolute beloved she's the best#one piece#asl brothers#uta one piece#black leg sanji#revolutionary sabo#portgas d. ace#monkey d. luffy#sabosan

So you did a short Drabble about Mihawk finding Lizard, but what if Mihawk found Doll? We know that he’s on amicable terms with Shanks, so Shanks has probably told him about his daughter, and Mihawk may have even met Doll before, so would he bring her back to him, or would he listen to her if she was begging him to not send her back to her dad?
And if he did listen to her and decided to not give her back to Shanks, would he bring her to the Straw Hats, or would he also be a platonic yandere and want to keep her at his home?
Honestly I guess I would really just like to know more about the relationship between Mihawk and Doll, if you’re willing.
This one? Technically Buggy found her, Mihawk was just stuck trying to do damage control lol
Under a cut because I had a lot to say about them
Mihawk is one of the very few people that Shanks was okay with allowing Doll around, even going so far as to tell her to call him uncle Mihawk. They met a handful of times, and thanks to how observant Mihawk is, he could tell that something was... off. Doll's behavior was strange. She appeared to be torn between being excited to see someone new, but also being terrified and having no idea how to approach said new person. It's a very concerning way for a toddler to act, which led to Mihawk questioning Shanks about her.
Who is she? Where did she come from? Why is does she appear to have never socialized a day in her life?
Shanks, seeing nothing wrong with what he's done, is completely honest. He tells Mihawk about Kailani and how he "just had to" whisk away Doll when she wouldn't cooperate. He kinda skims over the whole Uta situation, but Mihawk is able to piece together that Doll has never been exposed to anyone outside of the ship because Shanks is scared of having a repeat of what happened to his first child.
Mihawk is empathetic to an extent. He doesn't have children of his own, but it's easy enough to imagine that losing one is a painful thing to go through. He encourages Shanks to consider letting Doll off the ship once in a while, but leaves it at that. It's a fresh wound, he's optimistic that he'll move on and ease up as it heals.
But as the years go by and they occasionally cross paths here and there, he realizes how naive it was to assume that. Doll has never seen a face outside of the crew and himself. Not only that, but as she gets older it becomes more and more apparent how infantilized she is. Anyone else would be training her hard to protect herself, but Shanks refuses to. Outside of lockpicking, she doesn't have a single useful skill. She can't fight at all.
It starts to bother Mihawk.
The last time he sees Doll before her escape, it's impossible to ignore how miserable she looks. Her eyes are bloodshot from stress and she's gone from being kind of fidgety to looking like she's about to have a nervous breakdown any second. Even the other members of Shanks crew can hardly stand to look at her, but there's nothing they can do because at the end of the day Shanks is their captain and they won't go against him.
While Shanks is occupied with getting more booze, she approaches Mihawk and clings to him while begging for him to help her leave. She's crying but doing her best to keep it quiet so as to not draw attention. She explains how she "found something she wasn't supposed to" and how awful it's been since that happened. The kid is borderline hysteric and promises that she won't be any trouble. He doesn't have to keep her around, he can ditch her at the first island they come across and she'll figure it out from there.
For a moment, he's heavily considering it, but then Shanks comes back. Mihawk covers for Doll by saying that all the noise overwhelmed her and that's why she's crying and upset. Shanks buys it, but he also then takes Doll away so she can rest in their room and get away from the noise.
Mihawk left without her that day, but he did not feel good about it. When he finds out she went missing, it is honestly a weight off his shoulders. He'd been genuinely thinking about sneaking her off the ship, but now it seems he won't need to. He does find himself to be concerned about how she is fairing. He knows she can't fight, so he can only hope she's with people who can. Then he finds out she's with the Straw Hats, and that really takes the edge off. She ought to be safe with them.
If they encountered each other again, Doll would be fearful of him taking her back to Shanks. As far as she could tell, he was as complicit as everyone else on that ship had been. Mihawk is quick to assure her that he has no such plans, he won't even mention having seeing her again to Shanks.
During this, he can't help but ask if she's picked up any fighting skills since her escape. Upon hearing that he hasn't, he nonchalantly says that he wouldn't be opposed to showing her the basics of sword fighting, should she be interested. He tries to act impartial, but he very much wants her to say yes.
He isn't yandere for her, but he does feel the need to help her when he can. It helps assuage the guilt of doing nothing all those years she was trapped on the Red Force for. He'll mislead Shanks and would even be willing to fight him if it meant giving Doll a chance to get away.
For someone who once rolled his eyes at being called "uncle Mihawk", he sure does live up to the title.
