Because i like the idea of inconveniencing Sakazuki, I had a very fun idea.

Koby and Hibari’s first date:

•Koby showing up in a Hawaiian shirt and cargo shorts (hand me down from Garp from his first date with Urpi).

•Hibari wearing a dress Sakazuki himself picked out but he still thinks it’s too revealing.

•They go to Gran Tesero!? (Hold on a minute what? That’s right another tip from Garp’s old days)

•2 days later, Hibari returns with a Ring saying “He said yes!!!” And jumping up and down. (That’s right!! Garp advised Hibari to pop the question!!)

•Sakazuki has lava aneurism

Inconveniencing Sakazuki is also the right choice!

The largest entertainment city in the world is one hell of a place to get engaged and Hibari did it right after winning a shit load of money (she says Koby is her good luck charm)! Koby is absolutely floored by the proposal and quickly discards his shirt so her knees don’t hurt which makes the whole casino coo and aww! After saying yes the newly engaged are treated to a couple free rounds of slots and a nice dinner!

Akainu's reaction goes down in history due to how almost calm he was. He just, sits there, disassociating. Where had his little girl gone astray? Why had she fallen for this pink haired nuisance?

The thing that snaps him back into his usual rage is Kizaru (very not helpfully) asking if they got a room upgrade post proposal. That’s when the volcano erupts.

Just a small detail that I wanted to highlight from Netflix’s One Piece. Even though this is clearly a Western production of a Japanese series, as you can tell from the more Hollywood-ish dialogue and action, the series isn’t completely divorced from its Japanese roots. For example, in the first episode, you can clearly tell Koby and Luffy are eating with chopsticks. And the little girl serves chocolate onigiri to Zoro.

It feels like the reverse of how anime used to be treated in the early 2000s. Remember when Pokémon had to change the name of the food to stuff like donuts and pizza? Now we have a Western show that’s based on an anime, and they’re making sure not to erase the Japanese influence in the series.
