Love this!!
I got a DM on my Instagram on a fic Iâve been working on on and off for the last maybe 12 years. They were so sincere and excited that I was the author and the story had really meant something to them. No one comments on this fic or at least hasnât in years. Iâve been so motivated and plan on writing more now. Also itâs just so wonderful to hear someone liked what I put into the world.
Please comment on fics
This week, I read a fic that was around 20 years old, which had originally been posted on the author's personal website and which she added to AO3 a few years ago. She listed her email address with the fic, so after I finished reading, I sent her an email saying how much I enjoyed the story, how much I appreciated the work and effort she obviously put into it, and thanked her for uploading it to AO3. She responded the next day and thanked me for my message, then said she had a few more stories in the same series that she hadn't gotten around to uploading. I checked this morning--she added a 35,000 word novella and thanked me in the summary.

Say my name again
Hwang In-ho x reader
word count: 2k
warnings: blood, gore, violence⌠if u watched SG, youâll be fine
as always, requests are open!
Youâve been watching him for some time now. Paying attention to the way his mouth moved when he talked to his teammates, following his gaze wherever he looked. After the second game, you overheard him introducing himself. Young-il. What a coincidence he looked like the police officer that visited your flat so many years ago. The name was what made you suspicious - you could have sworn the police officer introduced himself to you as Hwang In-ho. And itâs not as if you couldâve gotten those mixed up; you two spent many restless days trying to find the ones who were behind the robbery of your home. But, you smiled with some bitterness on your tongue, the outcome was obvious based on your situation.
You knew you were the only one watching him so closely. One of your teammates even joked about it, saying you were mesmerised by that man. But he just made you nervous - his presence planting a bug in your brain. Was he a spy for the government? Or was he just as miserable as the rest of you?
With another unsuccessful vote behind you, you could finally rest and get off of your adrenaline high by leaning against the railing of your bunk bed while nibbling on some bread. You took off your bloodied shoes that always made you nauseous just by looking at them and while doing some breathing exercises your eyes of their own volition found that familiar face in the moving crowd. Of course he is still playing, you thought. He was a cop, no matter what. You watched him give his own share of milk to the pregnant girl. Did he do it out of kindness or to manipulate those people?
âSeriously, Y/N, you must have a problem. What is wrong with you? Staring like that at that poor guy- he might get the wrong idea.â One of your teammates said to you, sitting next to you on the bed.
âDonât worry so much. Iâm just watching and thatâs harmless on its own.â
âOn its own, yes. But what youâre doing is more than that.â
You raised your brow in annoyance and curiosity and moved your eyes to her.
âAnd what is it that Iâm doing?â You pursed your lips.
âStalking, mildly put.â She grimaced at your look, sensing how close to irritated you were becoming.
âStalking? Such a nonsense, Se-mi.â
âWell, whatever. Just be careful so he doesnât notice or in the next game you might have even more trouble staying alive.â
âYeah? Is that because youâre so done with me youâre gonna finish me off tomorrow?â
Both of you were grinning then.
âIn your dreams, Y/N.â
***
The platform beneath you jerked to life but all your eyes could see were the puddles of blood everywhere. Your shoes were already drenched in it, the palms of your hands covered by it. You slipped on the blood so many times that your clothes were already camouflaged.
âToday I die,â you breathed out, ragged and scared. You knew you were right.
The music echoed in your head even as it quieted and the platform stopped. But you still couldnât look away from all the blood, not caring anymore about the people around you.
âTwo.â said the womanâs voice and panic began. You finally lifted your gaze, searching for Se-mi or anyone familiar but no one was around. People were screaming, dragging each other down, pushing, always pushing. And you just stood there, awaiting your unavoidable end.
âCome on!â There, a body appeared, and someone crashed into you with such force it was hard to stay on your feet. Hands grabbed your waist and with unbelievable strength half pushed you half carried you to the nearest unoccupied room. Only when your body connected with the floor and the doors locked behind you did you look up at the person who saved you.
âTell me what you want from me.â Young-il or In-ho said, blocking the exit with his body, freezing you in place with those piercing eyes. So he has noticed, you thought, finding it hard to swallow, let alone speak.
âI know who you are.â you croaked and In-ho said nothing, but his laugh lines grew heavier.
âDo you?â he asked after a while, his eyes sparkling. Was this just a game for him?
âWhy didnât you tell them your real name, In-ho?â
âWhat made you think you could talk to me like that?â You shivered at his words but your face remained impassable. Somehow, you werenât scared of him, no. Just⌠curious.
âSame question.â
âYou think I donât remember you, right? But youâre wrong. The moment I noticed you here I knew exactly who you were, Y/ N.â It was hard to pretend that those words meant nothing to you.
âAt least I donât hide behind a different name.â
âItâs a precaution. Some of these people are criminals and if they recognised my name they wouldnât be as happy as you to see me here, understood?â
Your cheeks reddened but that didnât stop you from holding your ground. His gaze made you nervous and you started biting your lower lip.
âWould you stop doing that?â In-ho asked and you raised an eyebrow at him.
âYouâre not the only one watching, Y/N.â he gave you a tentative smile.
Before you could say anything, the doors clicked and In-ho extended his hand to you as an offering.
âI can keep a secret⌠Can you?â A corner of his mouth curled up slightly and in answer you accepted his hand.
***
After you walked out of the room, the two of you didnât speak until later that day in the dormitory. It was as if your roles switched - the whole day you felt his gaze following you wherever you went. It was driving you insane.
Thankfully In-ho approached you on his own, holding you by your elbow and gently leading you to a tranquil corner of the room.
âStop staring at me to distract me!â you whisper shouted at him.
âOh, Iâm not staring at you to distract you.â
Again, the blush creeped into your cheeks. Flustered and ashamed, you looked away and bit your lip.
âI shouldnât be here, you know.â he went on. His eyes were flickering from side to side, probably trying to see if anyone paid any attention to you.
âWell, I can keep a secret, canât I?â you looked up at him from beneath your lashes, a spark in your eyes. A smile crept on his face but quickly disappeared.
âAs soon as the lights go out today, the other team is going to attack us so they have more people voting tomorrow for the games to continue. You hide under the bed and be quiet, you understand?â
âIs this a trap?â you asked and stepped away, your hands starting to shake.
âDo as I say.â And that was that. With it, he meant to turn away, but you gripped his wrist.
âIn-ho-â
âWould you stop doing that?â he retorted and moved his hand so it was him holding you. His knuckles were all white but he wasnât hurting you.
âDoing what exactly, In-ho-â before you could finish the sentence, the palm of his hand covered your mouth. Your nostrils were met with a musky and tangy smell.
âDonât test me.â He let go of you and stepped aside. As he turned to go, he spoke over his shoulder: âWhen the lights turn off, come and find me. Iâll keep you safe.â
And somehow, no matter how dangerous this place was, knowing that you cannot trust anyone here, you trusted him.
***
âLight out in five minutes.â The womanâs voice resonated in the dormitory while everyone climbed into their beds. You sat at the edge of yours with shoes on, checking for the fifth time In-hoâs location. In your mind, you tried to blindly navigate your way and when you were finally convinced that you could do it, you loosened a deep sigh.
âWhy so tense, Y/N?â Se-mi asked from the bed beneath yours. You climbed down onto her level and quickly checked if anyone was listening, before you whispered: âAfter the lights go out, gen under the beds. Trust me.â Thank god she didnât question it, because you felt ridiculous enough for the both of you for even listening to In-ho. He didnât have a motive to keep you safe. He had one to kill you, though. You were the only one here who knew his real name. You just didnât know if it was information worth killing for.
âLights out in ten seconds. Ten, nine, eightâŚâ You looked around for the last time. The air was stale and tense. Your body started shaking immediately.
âThree, two, one.â The darkness fell like a heavy curtain. You quietly stumbled down the ladder, careful to make as little noise as possible. Your left knee nearly collapsed under you as you made the first step but you kept a firm grip on the railings as you slowly passed between the bunk beds. Two railings, you go right, tree railings, you touch the wall, you follow it into the corner, then four railings before you go leftâŚ. But it just wasnât possible to move as quickly as required. You were three quarters in when hell was unleashed. The sounds of stabbing, screaming and gurgling filled the air but your legs refused to move. You were completely paralysed with fear.
Someone jumped screaming from their bed and stumbled into you. You fell with a yelp on the cold floor and tried to scoot under the closest bed, but someone was already there pushing you out, frantically repeating: âGet out, theyâre gonna find me, you have to go!â
You scrambled on all fours and stayed as low as possible while crawling to where In-ho was supposed to be. You were such a fool.
There was a sudden kick to your abdomen and you gasped, pain resonating through your body. Someone tripped over you and fell with a scream, their hands trying to hold onto anything, which just happened to be your hair. You screamed with pain, blindly punching around yourself in a desperate attempt of defence.
âIn-ho!â you finally screamed, not caring anymore if someone tracked you down because of it. There was so much noise that it didnât matter.
âIn-ho!â you kept on shouting as you got up and started frantically running in the direction you thought was the right one. You were starting to get desperate, your voice turning into a rasp, tears forcing their way out of your eyes.
Earlier, when you said that you were going to die that day, maybe it would actually happen.
Suddenly, a hand grasped your ankle and you were prepared for the worst. But when your name fell off In-hoâs lips, your shoulders sagged with relief and with a desperate cry you got on the ground and slid next to him under the bed.
âI thought I was dead,â you gasped out, hand on your racing heart.
âWell, me too if that calms you down.â
âIt certainly doesnât, In-ho.â you glared at him. He was looking at you in a strange way, something in his expression you didnât know how to identify.
âWhat is it?â you asked, your stomach dropping. Was he actually betraying you? Or was he trying to kiss you? With that look on his face, you couldnât say which one.
âSay my name again,â he breathed out, your breaths mingling. Suddenly, you noticed all the points where your body was touching his, your skin heating up at the contact.
âIn-ho,â you mumbled and stretched out your hand to tuck a strand of his silky hair behind his ear.
âYou have no idea what you do to me, do you?â In-ho looked at you with a pained expression.
âNot in the slightest,â you whispered softly against his warm lips as you kissed him.

Similarities between Inhun/457 and Hannigram; personal analysis of the attitudes that connect these characters đ
Starting with actor Lee Byung Hun's face. I don't even need to go into details...
⢠Villain disguised as a hero;
Inho/001 x Hannibal Lecter
Both wear a good guy disguise to get close to and mentally and psychologically manipulate their "target" of obsession, taking actions to impress and defend the target that sometimes make us question their villainy towards the good guy.
Both Inho and Hannibal seem to be desperately searching for a trace of understanding and similarity in someone towards themselves. Hannibal became obsessed with Will when he saw this similarity in him (both characters misunderstood by society, mentally broken and with difficulties in expressing and understanding their own emotions), and just like the cannibal, Inho saw something similar in Gihun, therefore, feeling the need to, somehow, get close to him to keep him under his control.
"But Inho and Gihun are completely different", yes, just like Hannibal and Will; that doesn't stop the characters from identifying with each other psychologically.
In my opinion, Inho saw in Gihun an ambition and confidence that piqued his interest. "But Gihun is not ambitious or self-centered" No, he is not, not materially speaking. Gihun's ambition comes from the will he has over the things he sets out to do. He is ambitious about what he wants and this ambition is accompanied by a hyper-empathy bordering on masochism, considering that Gihun returned to the game not only because of his desire to end it, but because of the guilt of having survived when people died, because of the desire to prevent other deaths. This hyper-empathy also shows up in other scenes, and this is where Will comes in.
⢠The hyper-empathetic good guy;
Will Graham Ă Seong Gihun
Unlike Will's hyper-empathy, which manifests itself through his ability to put himself in the Assassin's shoes and mentally experience the murders, Gihun's empathy is blatant, making us feel a little angry and uncomfortable with the situations in which 456 puts himself by thinking more about others than about himself. A scene that left me in agony was in season 2, in the first game, where he runs from the safe area to pick up a man who was shot in the leg. The man would have been killed anyway, but he insisted on picking him up with less than 30 seconds to go.
Unlike 456's blatant empathy, which almost makes him seem naive in several scenes (like when he gives his only extra ammunition to Inho to save himself in the future), Will's empathy is more "dark" and firm. Will doesn't trust people easily, much less Hannibal, while 456 trusts Inho/001 right away and from the first contact they are inseparable.
⢠Jealousy, Control and Possessiveness
I think that after their faces, these are the characteristics that Hannibal and Inho have most in common. Neither of them want their good boys to have anyone other than themselves. We can see Hannibal eliminating the people who get close to Will throughout the series, but with Inho, we follow the stages and moments of this jealousy until it reaches its peak (the final episode that resembles Mizumono). Inho observed Gihun's interactions with Jungbae (Gihun's longtime friend) in silence, just processing each moment and creating a mental bomb that would explode in the future (like when Jungbae made Gihun laugh, at night in the dorms, and the scene cuts to 001 listening under the bed in total DISGUST).
⢠Mizumono
Both villains analyzed here need to control their targets of obsession, manipulating them and trying to build a home in their heads, and when they realize they have been "betrayed", that's when the bomb explodes.
Hannibal felt betrayed by Will when he learned that he was helping in a plan against him behind his back (but we know that Will was so confused about his feelings and morality that he didn't even know who to go with), and then killed Abgail in front of him after a heartbreaking speech.
Inho felt betrayed by Gihun when, during a shootout in the player vs. soldier attack, Gihun said he would go inside to find the way out. Inho asked: "Shall I go with you?", and Gihun simply said that Jungbae would go with him. Later, Jungbae asks 456 why he chose him and not 001 who is more skilled with weapons, and Gihun answers that he chose him because they are friends. The next scene suggests that Inho, disappointed, listened behind the communicator, but we don't know if the communicators were on or not...
It's worth noting the expression on Inho's face when Gihun said that Jungbae was the one who would...
(POOR GUY 456 APOLOGIZE TO HIM AND TAKE HIM WITH YOU NOW
The Mizumono between 456 and 001 happens thanks to this event, when, later, after putting on his masked Boss costume, Inho goes to Gihun and Jungbae on the stairs. Just like Hannibal, he says heartbroken words (less dramatic and more angry) and eliminates Jungbae in front of Gihun.
Both killed people close and important to their targets out of possessiveness and hurt, out of a sick and incomprehensible feeling of betrayal; feelings that only they understand.
How can little sweet creatures like this be so DESTRUCTIVE.
There doesn't seem to be a need and mutual dependence in 457 like there is in Hannigram (at least not yet, there's still one season left), the obsession and interest come from Inho, but there is a notable chemistry and tension, smiles and exchanges of OBVIOUS glances.
I know that Hannigram is complex and very intense, I'm not making an extremely serious comparison, but rather recording some points that I observed and since I love both couples, I wanted to do this. The depth of the characters is obviously different, we're just making a fan observation here. âĄ

We're Okay
pairing: Kang Dae-ho x f!reader
summary: Things go wrong during the third game
word count: 2.1k
warnings: mingle game, character death, blood, squid game stuff
A/N:Â this man is the only thing in my head rn. posted this before when tags weren't updating so reposting now. also this is only sorta proofread so if you see any mistakes no you didn't <3 **this is sorta a p2 to "a welcome distraction" but can be read as standalone**
We will go hand in hand
And have fun jumping around
Round and round
The platform stops turning suddenly, and you grab onto Dae-ho to stop yourself from falling over.
"Eleven"
You and Dae-ho lock eyes for a split second before you both start looking around for more players. Together you were six, meaning you needed four more.
Gi-hun turns to a player behind him. "How many are you?"
"Four," the woman replies.
"That makes us ten!" Jung-bae whimpers.
A man from another group comes running over. "Are you five? We need five!"
Before any of you can answer, another player yells back. "We have five people! Come with us!"
The two groups go running off towards a door.
"We have to hurry!" Gi-hun says.
"There's no time, Gi-hun!" Young-il tells him.
"We need one more!" the tall woman yells. She spots someone by herself near the center of the platform and grabs her. "We have eleven now!"
"To the green door over there! Hurry!" Young-il yells, already running off in the direction of the door.
Before you know what's happening, Dae-ho grabs you and pulls you along after him. You rush after him into the room, pushing yourself against the wall to make room for everyone else to get inside. You look up at the man next to you before turning your head towards the beeping sound coming from the back of the room. The clock runs out, and the lock clicks on the door.
You breathe out a sigh of relief that you made it in time, but jump and yelp when you hear the screams coming from outside the door, along with the gunshots. Looking towards the door, you watch Gi-hun's reactions as he watches the people outside. The sounds of gunshots are soon replaced with the sounds of the forklifts coming in with the coffins.
Your heart begins to race. If Dae-ho had not taken you back to his friends and added you to his team, you surely would be one of those bodies out there. You look up at Dae-ho to see him already looking down at you. He saved your life.
Dae-ho looks you over to make sure you're okay before you both look around at the others in the room with you. You smile a bit when you see the nice lady and her son with you, as well as players 120 and 095. You had watched them during the six-legged race and watching them cross the finish line had filled you with hope that you could do it too.
"You're alive thanks to me!" a voice yells from inside your room, making you and everyone else jump. You turn and see the creepy lady standing in the middle of the green room, looking you all over one by one. She speaks to Gi-hun, making everyone look at each other with a mix of fear and confusion. This lady doesn't seem to understand that it is not the time for this.
The eliminated players are announced and you are let out of the rooms. The floors are already covered in blood. Red is splattered all over the walls as a morbid reminder of what will happen to you if you lose.
Everyone steps onto the platform and it starts moving again as the music starts up. Looking around, you see that weird purple-haired guy and his friend dancing together. You don't know whether to smile that people can find happiness even in a moment like this, or to be horrified that they can dance in the blood of all those people.
The platform stops again and you are shot back into the game.
"Four"
Your team looks around at each other. Just as you're about to volunteer to find others, Young-il and Jung-bae separate, shouting about needing two more people.
The rest of you run towards an open room with a purple door, taking deep breaths. Gi-hun keeps the door open and looks outside to make sure that the others found another room in time. Right before time runs out, Dae-ho pulls Gi-hun into the room and closes the door, hearing the lock turn immediately after.
The room is tense with none of you knowing whether your friends made it in time. You look at Dae-ho, seeing the worry on his face, and gently take his hand. He looks towards you and squeezes your hand, not letting go even when the doors unlock and you are let out.
Dae-ho starts yelling for Young-il and Jung-bae before a voice calling Gi-hun's name grabs your attention. You look over with relief to see that both of them are alive.
Young-il turns to Jun-hee, asking her if she is alright.
"Wait a minute," Young-il says, "if the next number is seven, we won't need anyone else, will we?"
You all smile as you understand what he's saying, and Jun-hee holds her swelling stomach, a warm smile on her face.
The number for the next round is three, making it easy for your team to split up into two groups and get into rooms with time to spare. You nearly cry as the mother and son are reunited after the round ends, and Dae-ho pulls you towards him, wrapping his arm around your shoulders and rubbing his hand up and down your arm.
Your team grows after that, quietly adding the old lady and her son and players 120 and 095.
The platform starts to spin again as the next round starts.
"I hate this fucking song," you mumble under your breath.
The platform stops as the voice announces the next group size.
"Seven"
"Two men and five women! Go!" Gi-hun yells to the team.
"Which two men?" Jung-bae asks.
"I'm going with my mom!" Yong-sik says, holding onto his mother tightly.
Dae-ho holds up your joined hands. "I'm coming." You're dragged in the direction of the group as you run along. Dae-ho opens an orange door, but stops seeing that it's full.
The old man from before pushes Dae-ho out of the doorway before shutting the door. You keep Dae-ho from falling and instead pull him in the direction of an open room that player 120 found. As you run, you can hear the voice counting down. You make it with just a few seconds to spare.
You sigh in relief, but freeze once you turn around. Instead of two men and five women, the room contains two men and four women. Player 120 is standing near the door, ready to run outside when a man pushes her into the room and closes the door just in time for them to lock.
The crying eyes of player 095 look through the slot in the door.
"Young-mi!" Player 120 screams, running towards the door and desperately trying to open it.
The girl outside continues crying until a gunshot is heard and she slides down the door.
Player 120 screams as the woman cries with her son over their lost friend. Dae-ho pulls you close to him as player 120 starts screaming at the man who came in. As sad as his is to see the girl die, he's relieved that it wasn't you out there looking at him through the slot.
The doors unlock and you walk out silently. The others smile when they find you, but immediately notice the missing girl and frown. Without a word, you all step up onto the platform once more as the voice announces that this will be the last round and the music starts up again.
"What do you think it'll be this time?" Jung-bae asks Gi-hun.
"Two," Young-il answers, getting our attention.
"Why?"
"There are 126 people left, and there are 50 rooms. So there won't be enough rooms for everyone, only 100."
You and Dae-ho look at each other. He tightens his grip on your hand, silently telling you that he will bring be with you. You nod at him and get ready to run.
"Two"
Everyone immediately starts running towards the doors in a mad sprint. You stay with Dae-ho, keeping your hands together so you don't get separated.
Dae-ho opens a red door, but you're pushed aside before you can get in with him. You look up as another man pushes inside the room and closes him and Dae-ho in.
Fear like you've never known before takes over your body. You're about to die. Dae-ho can be heard inside the room, screaming your name and trying to open the door, but the man keeps him from getting out. The voice starts to count down from ten. As you accept you're fate, a pair of hands grab you and drag you into a yellow room, throwing you in before throwing the lone person inside out and closing the door.
You gasp for air as you pull yourself off the floor, staying on your hands and knees as you try to get a grasp of what just happened. Someone had saved your life.
Turning to see who your savior is, your eyes grow wide when you read the '246' on his chest.
He kneels beside you, putting a hand on your shoulder. "Are you alright?"
You nod frantically. "Thanks to you."
The gunshots begin outside and you throw your arms around the man in front of you. You'd be one of them if it weren't for him.
"Thank you," you cry into his shoulder as he hugs you back.
"There was enough time. I watched you get pushed and I just had to do something," he says.
You want to say thank him a million times, but words won't come out as you just stay in each others arms.
Two rooms over, Dae-ho's knuckles are stained red with blood as he punches the door over and over. There's no way that you made it in time, he knows that. He turns and screams at the other player in his room for pushing you, attempting to hit him before his cries take over and he falls into the corner of the room, sobbing into his sleeve.
The doors are eventually unlocked and everyone makes their way out. Dae-ho walks out slowly, looking at the floor and feeling empty. He couldn't save you.
The others run over to him, but they all frown and let out a few gasps when they see that the other person coming out of his room isn't you.
Dae-ho finally looks up at his team, though they all look blurry from the tears in his eyes. He must look like a wreck, but he can't even bring himself to care about that.
Jung-bae walks up to him and puts a hand on his shoulder, and Dae-ho breaks down again, sobbing into the shoulder of his fellow ex-marine. The area around them is silent except for Dae-ho's cries. That is until door opens behind them and a small gasp is heard in front of him. Dae-ho looks up at the woman holding her son and sees her looking past him.
"Dae-ho."
Dae-ho freezes when he hears the voice. He slowly turns around, not wanting to get his hopes up and believe that it's you. But there you, alive and standing in front of him. You look at each other for a few seconds before Dae-ho rushes towards you, throwing his arms around you as you do the same.
The man breaks down again as he hugs you. "I thought you were dead. I'm so sorry."
You rub his back as he cries, quietly telling him that it's okay.
He pulls back and cups your face with his hands, making sure to look you over. "I'm so sorry."
"It's alright, Dae-ho, it wasn't your fault," you reassure him. "And I'm okay. Everything is alright."
He nods, though tears continue to fall down his cheeks. "How did you find a room?"
You smile and look behind you at the man walking towards your group. "This man here picked me up off the floor and saved me at the last moment."
Player 246 just smiles. Dae-ho pulls you back into a hug as he thanks the man over and over for saving your life.
The other players start filtering out of the room. You break away from Dae-ho and pull him along with you towards the door.
As you're walking, he throws an arm around you and pulls you against him, placing a desperate kiss on your forehead that makes you blush. "I can't believe you're alive," he whispers against your skin.
You smile at him and take his hand, squeezing it. "You said it yourself, we're going to get out of here. Together."
Dae-ho keeps you close to him as you walk, the others from your team patting you on the shoulder as they tell you they're happy you made it. Dae-ho keeps his eyes on you the whole time, determined to get the both of you out of here. Today.

mingyuâs whines had been keeping you awake. they were soft at first, like he was trying so hard not to wake you, but youâd felt his body against yours, his cock pressing into your ass every time he moved, and you knew what he was doing.
you smirked to yourself, deciding that two could play at this game. you turned over, sleepy but not really, and gave him the most innocent look you could muster. gyu, babe,â you whispered, your voice still hoarse from sleep. âyou okay?â
his eyes snapped open, wide and panicked like a kid caught stealing cookies. âuhâyeah,â he stammered, his hand still suspiciously close to the waistband of his briefs. âiâm fine.â
you raised a brow, letting your hand trail down his chest. âyou sure? you seem⌠tense.â
his adamâs apple bobbed as he swallowed hard. âjust, uh, morning stuff, you know?â
you bit your lip to keep from laughing at how awkward he was. so big and so dumb, and he couldnât lie to save his life. âwell, let me help with that,â you said, straddling his hips.
ây/nââ he started, his voice already shaky, but you cut him off with a finger to his lips.
âshh,â you whispered, leaning down so your mouth was right next to his ear. âyou donât wanna wake anyone up, do you?â
his whole body tensed under you, and you felt his cock twitch against you through his briefs. ân-no.â
you grinned, your hips grinding down against him just enough to make him gasp. âthen be a good boy and stay quiet for me, yeah?â
he nodded frantically, his hands flying to your hips, gripping tight like you leaned back, pulling your shirt over your head and tossing it somewhere on the floor, and mingyuâs eyes went wide, his lips parting like he couldnât believe his luck.
âeyes up here,â you teased, and he snapped his gaze back to yours, his cheeks flushing pink.
you hooked your fingers into the waistband of his briefs, pulling them down just enough to free him, and his cock sprang up, already leaking, so pretty you couldnât help but run your fingers over the tip.
âfuck,â he hissed, his head falling back against the pillow.
âwhat did i just say?â you said, smirking as you lined him up with your entrance.
âsorry,â he whispered, biting his lip to keep himself quiet.
you sank down on him slowly, biting back your own moan at how good he felt stretching you out. mingyuâs hands gripped your hips even tighter, his fingers digging into your skin, and you could see how hard he was trying to hold back. âgyu,â you whispered, leaning down so your lips brushed against his ear. âyouâre so good for me. so fucking good.â
his breath hitched, his eyes squeezing shut as you started to move, rolling your hips in slow circles.
he let out a tiny whimper, and you immediately clamped your hand over his mouth. âshh..!â you said again, your voice a little sharper this time. âyou canât be loud.â
he nodded under your hand, his eyes wide and desperate, and you couldnât resist teasing him just a little more. you slipped two fingers into his mouth, pressing down on his tongue, and his lips closed around them automatically, his cheeks hollowing as he sucked.
âgood boy,â you murmured, your hips moving faster now, and mingyu let out a muffled moan around your fingers.
his hands slid up your sides, one of them cupping your breast while the other tangled in your hair, and you knew he was close, his body trembling under you.
âyou gonna cum for me?â you whispered, your voice low and breathy.
he nodded frantically, his hips bucking up into you, and you could feel yourself getting closer too, the coil in your stomach tightening with every ride.
âthatâs it,â you said, your voice breaking as you started to lose control. âbe good and cum for me, gyu.â
he let out a muffled cry, his cock twitching inside you as he came, and the feeling of him spilling into you sent you over the edge too, your whole body shuddering as you came around him. u both stayed there for a moment, catching your breath, and when you finally pulled your fingers out of his mouth, he looked up at you with the sweetest, most blissed-out smile youâd ever seen.

Letters of destiny
â Summary: You entered the games for a reason, to pay for your husband's chemotherapy, there you meet someone who has a story quite similar to yours
â Note: This language is not my original language but I hope you like this one shot, I am open to recommendations and constructive criticism! <3
â Warning: Nothing, it's just a bit short since I'm not used to writing through this medium yet, but I hope you like it.
You didn't want to die, you had a man at home who adored you and was worried about you and you hoped to arrive with lots of money and a future resolved but the timer of the games only went backwards and you still couldn't find a group to join.
The carousel game had never been your strong suit, socializing was not your role but it was that or die, a group of 7 players and you were still standing there looking in all directions not knowing what to do until you felt someone pull your arm and in the blink of an eye you were in a compartment with 6 other people.
"Thank you..." The girl murmured, releasing the air she hadn't realized she had trapped in her lungs.
"It's nothing" answered player 456 also with accelerated breathing and taking gasps of air while he rested his hands on his knees, when the shots and screams were heard he looked through the half-open space of the door with sadness. You had already seen him, he was the one who guided them in the first game of green light and red light, the one who says he has already participated and won, maybe he tried to persuade people to withdraw from these games but he only encouraged you, it means that there is a chance to win.
"Thank you..." The young woman repeated, giving a slight bow to which he turned to look at her, confused, as did the rest of those who were there. "You motivated me to continue in these games."
You felt another look on you, only this one was full of curiosity and intensity. Without knowing it, you had said the same words as another person, only this time they were sincere.
"Are you crazy, women?" Another man shouted next to him, one with the number 390 "If what we want is for these games to end!"
You just stayed quiet with your eyes open, when your gaze moved towards the one who kept looking at you, you met with an intense and serious look, it made you shrink in your place just a little.
The door opened again and they all left together, happy to have been able to save their lives once again.
You were about to leave but before you could, one of them pulled you over with his arm around your shoulders with great confidence and shouted victoriously. "If we change her mind, we'll have another point in our favor!" he exclaimed, the number 388, pointing at the blue circle on your chest. "I don't understand."
"In the next vote, we want these games to end" said 456.
You remained silent again, not knowing what to answer. You didn't want to leave, or at least not yet. You wanted to gather more than enough money for your husband. Without realizing it, the same look as before fell on you.
[...]
There was a certain tension in the room, the participants had not yet voted but it was clear that the results would be almost even.
"My husband... has stage three lung cancer..." the woman murmured with her eyes downcast. "The doctors say that he can be cured, they would only remove the cancerous tumor but he would have to undergo several consultations and therapies that we cannot afford." The players surrounding her looked at her with pity and empathy. "I have already sold... many of our belongings, I have double shifts at work, I even mortgaged my house but it is not enough... and if I do not get enough money I will lose everything..." She did not even notice when the tears fell from her eyes without stopping.
It was horrible, most of them had debts but she would be left on the street and a widow if she did not get what she needed.
In-ho watched her silently as he bit his inner right cheek, the situation she was going through was not very different from the one he experienced, he knew that feeling of helplessness, of wanting to scream to the world how much he hated it for those cards of destiny "Does your husband know you came here?" he asked softly walking towards her to sit next to her.
She shook her head softly, wiping her tears with the sleeve of his jacket. "I just told him that I had found a way to get a lot of money." Now, that was cruel, even if she didn't achieve his goal and died on the way, her husband would think that she had abandoned him, along with his debts. "I want to go back home," she said after a few seconds of silence. "I think it's time to end this." She would vote to leave. The money they had so far was still not the amount they required, but it would be very helpful.
"You will get out of here," 001 said, placing a hand on her shoulder and giving her a slight closed-lip smile.
It was strange to feel that comforting and warm feeling from a stranger, but she was grateful for it. They say that eyes say more than words, and the look he gave her was one of genuine empathy.
As if he understood her in her current state of life.
"We'll get out of here," 456 now assured her with a nod.
Her knew them very little but without much hesitation her trusted them, even when Gi-hun told them about his plan on how to confront the guards and reach the people who led these games she agreed to help them, she needed the prize but not at the cost of more innocent deaths.
However, In-ho was not very happy about her following them, from the little he had read about her in her file he knew that she didn't hurt a fly, it would be useless to take her. Besides, the time to play in the yard was over, it was time to return to the command where he belonged and he didn't want the girl to be involved in this. But unfortunately for him he had no other option but to say "After you" as they left there being guided by the guard.
He was supposed to keep control over his emotions but it was inevitable, when he realized she was already too deep in his mind to let her die.
It was as if he had a chance to help his past self, that poor man who fell into misery being reflected by the young woman inexperienced in weapons who only sought to keep the love of her life alive.
It was an ironic and cruel letter from his destiny.

And it goes beyond music. Podcasts, ebooks, audiobooks... anything you purchase through a fully-digital service, you should download/save/burn to a physical (or at least local digital) copy.
Libation will help you save your Audible books.
Calibre will help you take control of your ebook collection.
Tunefab is a decent option for downloading your Spotify library (though there are others and I have used several).
Once the files are on your computer they can be stored on any memory device, including CDs (or thumb drives, external hard drives, or even something like a cassette if you're really feeling fancy and retro).
Take ownership of the things you own.
HOLD THE LINE!! KEEP PUSHING!!!!!

What about Dae-Ho from squid game 2 and teen!reader? Like teen!reader is here for some abusive reason (maybe to pay her abusive father debts) and Dae-Ho is mostly like a big brother figure to reader? It's like during the game of the carrousel and reader as no one to go to and almost die until Dae-Ho save her. Then after the game, they eat and Dae-Ho ask her why did she join the game at such a young age so reader explain and Dae-Ho became very protective toward reader?

The carrousel loomed like a monstrous relic in the center of the arena, its rusted metal creaking as it began to spin. The ominous voice of the announcer echoed through the room, explaining the next pairing number:
"Two."
Panic rippled through the crowd of contestants as they scrambled to find someone to trustâor, at the very least, someone they could tolerate. Amid the chaos, you stood frozen, clutching the fraying edges of your jacket. Your small frame and young age made yoy an oddity among the hardened contestants, and no one seemed eager to approach you.
You took a tentative step forward, your voice trembling as you tried to speak to a nearby man. "Excuse me, can weâ"
"Beat it, kid." He pushed past you, locking eyes with someone older and more capable.
Your heart sank, and you glanced around desperately. The crowd was thinning as people paired up, and the rooms began to flood.
"Five seconds remaining," the voice boomed.
Your breathing quickened, your limbs heavy as the realization hitâno one would pick you.
Just as the timer reached zero and the guards grabbed their guns, a hand yanked you back into a room with surprising strength. You stumbled, crashing into someoneâs chest. Looking up, you saw a man with sharp features and tired eyes.
Dae-Ho.
âHang on,â he muttered, gripping your arm as shooting became very loud. He held you steady, shielding you from the chaos around you both.
The survivors stumbled back into the main room, their faces pale and hollowed by exhaustion. The stark white walls felt oppressive, a stark contrast to the blood and marking on their bodies. Dae-Ho released his hold on you but stayed close, his gaze scanning the room as if calculating threats.
âKeep up,â he said curtly, glancing over his shoulder.
You nodded, your legs trembling as you followed him through the corridors. The silence between you was heavy, broken only by the faint hum of the fluorescent lights.
âThank you,â you whispered, your voice barely audible.
He stopped abruptly, turning to face you. His expression was unreadable, but his tone was softer. âWhy didnât you pair up sooner? You almost got yourself killed.â
You hesitated, the words catching in your throat. âNo one wanted to.â
Dae-Hoâs jaw tightened. He looked like he wanted to say something but thought better of it. Instead, he started walking again.
When you reached the main area, trays of food were waitingâa meager portion of rice, a hard-boiled egg, and a slice of bread. Dae-Ho grabbed his tray and sat at a corner bed, gesturing for you to join him. You hesitated, glancing around the room, but the hard stares of the other contestants made your choice clear.
As you sat on the bed besides from him, he pushed his egg toward you without a word.
âYou need it more than I do,â he said, taking a bite of his bread.
Your eyes widened. âIâI canât take this. You need it too.â
âDonât argue.â His tone left no room for debate.
You nodded, peeling the egg carefully and taking small bites. The food felt heavy in your stomach, and for a moment, the knot of anxiety loosened.
Dae-Ho leaned back in from his seat, watching you closely. âWhat are you doing here?â
Your hands froze mid-bite. âWhat do you mean?â
âYouâre a kid. These games⌠theyâre not for someone like you.â
Your throat tightened, and you looked down at your tray. âI didnât have a choice.â
âEveryone says that,â he said, his voice quieter now. âBut whatâs your reason?â
The words spilled out before you could stop them. âMy dad⌠heâs in debt. A lot of debt. He said it was my fault, that I had to fix it. So, IâŚâ You trailed off, your hands trembling.
Dae-Hoâs expression darkened. âYour father sent you here?â
You nodded, tears threatening to spill over. âHe said if I didnât, the loan sharks would come for me anyway. This was my only chance. He gave me the card and told me to call.â
For a moment, neither of you spoke. Then, Dae-Ho reached across the table, placing a hand over yours.
âYou shouldnât have to do this,â he said, his voice firm. âBut youâre here now, so you have to survive. No more freezing up, understand?â
You nodded, wiping your eyes. âOkay.â
âAnd stick with me. No oneâs going to mess with you while Iâm around.â
From that moment on, Dae-Ho rarely left your side. He became a constant presence, guiding you through the challenges and shielding you from the more ruthless players. He taught you how to read people, how to spot traps, and how to hide your fear.
In a world designed to break you, you found solace in each other.
But the games werenât over, and Dae-Ho knew that your bond would be tested in ways neither of you could imagine.

I need Batman and Bruce to get magically split into different people and not know they're the same person. They DESPISE each other (self-loathing woooo) but have NO idea why. Just a very intense gut-feeling. Borderline about to throw up just looking at the other's face
[Middle of an argument]
Batman: YOU SHOULD'VE BEEN SHOT IN THAT ALLEY!!!
Bruce: WELL, YOU SHOULD RUN A BIRD CEMETARY!!!
---------------------
Batman: I vow to save every single life I possibly can
Batman: Except for Wayne's. You can have at 'im
Bruce, currently being hostaged: Oh, fuck you
This is hilarious and I donât want to take away from it by being angsty, but now Iâm thinking of a situation where theyâre split in half and think theyâre separate people but something just doesnât add up.
Bruce Wayne knows how to move in ways he shouldnât. Batman keeps thinking of things only Bruce Wayne would know or care about (his kids, his butler, etc) and they both slowly come to the realization that the split wasnât a split. There is no Batman without Bruce Wayne, and vice versa.
Trying to cleave one from the other is simply impossible, and the two halves hate each other not because their whole self hated themself, but because they are both pretending that they donât need the other. That the other half doesnât exist. And that harms them in either direction; Bruce Wayne needs Batman, and Batman needs Bruce Wayne. One isnât better than the other. Greater than the other.

lÄąllÄąlÄą Deja Vu and She's Mine Pt. 1 by J Cole
Dedication â to @cybersunnie who read it first and gave me lovely feedback, ily my southeast asian bestie <3
Rafe looks for you everywhere.
Ever since that fateful night, he had searched every room and crowd for a glimpse of your face. Most times, he doesn't find what he's looking for, and a lump of frustration curls up his throat. A wasted effort, he tells himself, to look for someone who isn't his, but he does it anyway.
He's never been good at letting go of things that belonged to him.
Tonight's bonfire is on the beach. The firepit is surrounded by keggers lined neatly along the edges, and the salty tang of driftwood smoke hangs in the air. Flickering embers roared to the sky, while the drunken crowd moved in scattered clusters, their laughter coalescing with the music as they stumble over their steps. Rafe can't help but scoff at the very sight.
He had snorted a couple of lines before his arrival. Nothing calms him down quicker than strips of white powder that substitute for dopamine, but it still isn't quite the replacement he's looking for. It may make him feel lighter, unable to feel the depth of his soul sinking like an anchor to the bottom of the ocean floor, but it's ineffective. Riffled with the knowledge that there's something better for him out in the world, something that mirrors the use of a drug, something that can save him.
You.
Rafe sips on the beer he's been nursing for the past half-hourâcoke and liquor are a hangover's bitchâand his eyes survey the mass of people in futile efforts. Everyone has arrived, including those Pogue friends of yours, but there are still no traces of you. Once again, Rafe believes that you've decided to forgo the invite to forget him.
Until he finds you off in the distance.
In the corner of the world, sitting on the shore and counting waves, with your legs drawn to your chest and your arms draped across your knees. Parties have always been a troublesome endeavor for you, rekindling old memories you want nothing more than to forget, but you always find yourself succumbing to one. It's a nasty habit you're unable to break.
You had slipped awayâfrom the masses, from your friends, from JJâfor some peace on the edge of the earth. No one seems to have noticed your missing presence. At least, that's what you believe.
Something settles at your side, darkening your solace with its thick presence, and you turn to discover Rafe. He sinks into the empty space beside you, cold brew in hand, and refuses to meet your gaze. Your heartbeat skips, alarm bells activating and cautioning you to leave, but you choose to stay.
Silence engulfs the air and despite the heavy bass reverberating through the air and the flurries of chatters from Kooks and Pogues alike, none of that seems to matter. As always, with Rafe, it feels like you two are the only people remaining on Earth, spinning on its axis, waiting.
It isn't like this with anyone else.
"You've been ignoring me," Rafe announces flatly. His stare set to the horizon of the coastline, watching waves flatten into the salt-soaked sand inches away from his feet.
"I haven't," you defend, a little too quickly, wincing at the projection of your voice. "We just haven't been going to the same places."
He scoffs dryly, "Because you've been ignoring me."
You shake your head softly, but Rafe doesn't acknowledge the gesture. You doubt he cares. It mirrors you in that aspect, knowing exactly how his mind behavesâbelieving his version of events to be the only correct reality. Nothing you do, or say, will change it.
It's hard to talk to someone who's stubborn.
It's worse when the person knows you too well.
Because in some ways, he's right. Several invitations to various functions have been sent, but you've opted out of attending any of them. Partly because you don't want to be in that environment. Mostly because you're afraid of facing Rafe. You had assumed it'd be an easy facade to maintainâjust as the rest of your friends suspected you simply weren't into partiesâbut Rafe sees directly through you, like glass.
He resists the urge to look at you. Fearing if he does, he'll never stop. It isn't enough for him to be within your proximity, he wants to have you, and it's a debilitating feeling to know he can't. Blood coats his senses, and he realizes he bite his tongue too hard.
Yet, he feels the heat of your stare on his profile. Your eyes sweep over every feature, every twitch of muscle as if you're committing to memory the days you haven't seen him. Pride finds him in that regardâto know he consumes your thoughts as much as you consumed him.
He begs to be wanted.
He wants you to beg for him.
"Your bruises are healing nicely," you say softly, admiring the faded damning colors of his assault to the healing yellows that smother his skin. "That's good."
His resolve breaks and Rafe turns. The corner of his lips lifts. "You would care, wouldn't you?"
You blink in surprise, but Rafe takes it as some protest of resilience. You won't admit it, as much as you want him, as much as you need him, and the anguish seeps into his bones. unable to detangle itself from skin. "Of course I do," you stutter a reply, "I patched you up."
"But it isn't the only reason," he presses, "Is it?"
His eyes meet yours, and it rivals the first look he's ever given you. Full of scorn and disdain, Rafe had once wanted nothing more than you to be out of his sight. Now, he can't have enough of it.
It evokes honesty in you. "It isn't."
Rafe grins, taking any small victory as a celebration.
You can't take it, deciding to break contact to reach into the pockets of your shorts. You fish out the lighter and a small box of cigarettes before torching the end of the stick and inhaling a sharp breath. Nicotine slithers into your system, calming your raging nerves.
Rafe watches with amusement. He had always hated a woman who smokes. It was unorthodox, dirty, and not someone he sees himself with. But when he watches the way the puff of smoke exits your lips, the calamity smoothening your features, he's never wanted to kiss you more.
âYou smoke?â Rafe asks as you lower the cigarette to your side. The butt of the blunt brushes against the grains of sand.
âYeah.â You say timidly. âItâs a bad habit I canât break.â
"Interesting."
"What?"
"Didn't take you as a smoker," Rafe confesses, but something in his statement reeks of judgment. As much as you hate the need to be validated by others, something about Rafe leaves you desiring acceptance.
You scramble to form an excuse. âI only do it when Iâm nervous.â
âI make you nervous?â
You don't respond, but you're sure the split-second expression on your face revealed it all. Pressing your lips together, you rip your gaze from Rafe to look back to the ocean currents, raging and coursing through the tides as if a storm is brewing. You hoped this respite would dissolve the tension in the air, but it doesn't.
Thick and hot, you can't decide if it's the heat of the firepit against your backside or the idea of Rafe's closeâtoo closeâproximity to you. Your truth. The persona you've carefully crafted on the verge of collapsing.
Rafe finally understands why you don't go to parties. Even if you don't explicitly state it; it's him. The way he can read you, understand you, and make you feel. A parallel of himself in you that feels like a reflection against a pond. It scares you. It terrifies him. Yet he can't get enough of it.
You clear your throat, taking another puff of your cigarette, before returning your gaze back to him. "You left your own party again."
Is this what you want to talk about? Rafe would rather push past the small talk, but he entertains it nonetheless. At least it's something to keep you close. "It's not my party."
"Right." You hum, inhaling a nicotine-saturated breath that hisses and chars the end of the blunt. "But you left it all the same. Shouldn't you be with your friends?"
"I could ask the same about you."
"I asked you first."
"Is that how you want to play it?"
Rafe cocks his head in challenge, armed with the mockery and condescension of his dripping tone. But it's not aimed at you, but rather for you. A provocation that asks: one of us is lying here, who will it be?
"You're baiting me," you announce, digging the burnt end of the cigarette into the sand to extinguish it. "It's not going to work."
Rather than take offense from your blatant callout, he scoffs out a smirk. His perfect teeth glistened underneath the moonlight, which can almost be read as fangs.
"Smart girl too," he muses, more to himself than you, before taking a swing of his beer. Directing his line of vision towards the darkened horizon, you watch him swallow with a bob of his Adam's apple. "I was looking for you."
"Me?" You repeat. "Why would you be looking for me?"
"Don't act dumb, princess. It's not cute."
Silence stretches among you, and the only soothing sound of this moment is the cascades of water meeting sand. Your heart doubles its tempo, reconciling with Rafe's words before he pierces the quietude with another confession. "They don't care."
This time, you don't play dumb. You know exactly what he's referring to. Rafe made a bold accusation that his friends don't care about him, and you have a sneaking suspicion that he is right.
From what you heard from your own group, no one is friends with Rafe. Not really. All they want is to get out of his way, to avoid being the receiving end of his wrath. Rapport is the closest method towards that settlement. A falsehood for security. He had come to the bitter realization on his own; that no one is real with him except you.
You don't take the time to be frivolous and reassure him with meaningless consolation. You cut straight to the chase.
"Then why come?" You ask, not knowing if he'll respond. But what you don't know is Rafe would answer almost anything if it came from you. "Why attend something when none of these people care about you?"
The instantaneous reply is a howling wind from the ocean, breezing over your skin and raising goosebumps on your arms. But you remain still. Unsure if Rafe will answer, you wait until he admits, "It's better than being alone."
All the air leaves your lungs.
Your heart pumps like it's about to burst.
Because Rafe confirms what youâre thinking.
And you feel the same way.
You're certain you're in an exact predicament but you don't have the courage to voice it. The Pogues only tolerate you because you're in this relationship with JJ, but you have a sinking feeling that it's just the novelty. Something short and fleeting. Something false.
You entered it under the assumption that JJ understood youâa burnt soul recognizing a companion. But that's proven to be completely untrue. JJ may have faced hardships, but his entire network is built on camaraderie. You never had that. Neither did Rafe.
Maybe that's why you gravitate towards him.
Maybe that's why you're afraid.
"Why are you here?" Rafe prompts, turning the spotlight back onto you.
You lick your lips, suddenly dry. "The Pogues invitedâ"
"No, don't give me that bullshit," he snaps, but his tone lacks the bite. All it demands is truth. "I mean, why did you come this time? You've been avoiding me for a reason."
You scoff. "You know."
A cruel smirk carves the corner of his mouth, framed with an innocent dimple. "I want to hear you say it."
"And if I don't?"
"Then you're a liar, princess. Just like all of them."
Fire ignites in your chest by his accusation, reminding you closely of that night at Tannyhill, and your hands squeeze into tight fists. Sucking on the inside of your cheek, and licking the residual nicotine sticking to your gums, give you a minor boost of confidence. "I thought if I didn't, they'd stop inviting me."
You exhale a blow of air, similar to your cigarette, but a heavy weight lifts off your chest. You don't turn to meet Rafe's eyes, but you feel the heat of his stare.
Rafe grins, self-satisfaction ripples through his features in unparalleled triumph. "Just like me."
"Don't be a dick," you declare.
"I'm not trying to." He says. "It's just ironic."
"Ironic how?"
He takes a second to answer, lingering on the moment by sipping on the rim of his beer, letting a slow, singular drop fall from the corner of his mouth. "Because every party I've seen you at, you're always escaping it."
You shrink under this observation, nails buried into the sand to find grounding. "I needed a break."
"All the time?" He taunts.
You say absolutely nothing. And Rafe chuckles dryly. "The girl who always leaves the party. The boy who needs it. We'll make a good couple."
You lift your head. "Is that your criteria for a relationship?"
"No. But I'll take any excuse to have you."
Your breath stutters in your throat. From your previous interaction with Rafe, you concluded that he cuts through the drivel. But it's different this time around. Now, it riffled with the knowledge of knowing you, of wanting you.
Rafe always had a single-minded ambition, the type to chase after his goal until he captured it within the palm of his hand. That's you to him.
Morals be damned. As long as he has you.
To be wanted like that terrifies you. With your heart palpitating in your chest, you feel the urge to rebuild your walls. To add that familiar and safe space between you and him. "Rafe..." You trail off in warning.
Instantaneously, as if he can read you, he knows why.
Frowning, Rafe says, "Hm. Forget you're with Maybank."
You don't think that's entirely true.
"I should get back," to him, but that part remains unspoken.
Rising from your seat, you dust off the sheen coat of sand under your thighs before motioning to leave. But Rafe snatches your wrist. His grip is firm but loose enough for you to slip out, only begging you not to.
You look down, however Rafe refuses to meet your gaze. In fact, he avoids it, opting for the dark coastline that rivals the turbulent feeling in his chest. "Why are you with him?" He whispers against the wind, his tone seeping with vulnerability. "Why are you with him when you can be with me?"
You don't know how to answer that. "He was nice to me."
"I can be nice to you."
You shake your head. "It's not the same."
"Why not?" Rafe asks wretchedly, lifting his head to finally meet your gaze and you read how broken he truly is. Your chest tightens. His icy blue eyes warmed with desperation, and his grip around your wrist tightens, like a beggar seeking approval.
For a moment, you considered lying. It's the easiest way out. But there's no one here but the two of you. No one to perform to. No one but an audience who knows you soul-deep. How do you lie out of this one?
"I think you need me," you whisper. "I don't know how to be needed like that."
If you were anyone else, he'd feel insulted. To insulate he needs someoneâanyoneâto function implies he's weak. That he's dependent on another. But Rafe hasn't felt this sense of gratification in years. A kinship that emerges from a soul recognizing a burnt soul. He can't lose that.
"Neither do I," he answers, almost pleading. "Let's try it out."
"Try what?"
"Us." He urges. "You and me."
You shouldn't, but you can't help but consider the proposal. It's awful, especially knowing you're in a committed relationshipâas committed as you can beâand you try to build excuses and logic on why this couldn't work. Why it shouldn't work. But all of them fell flat.
"You hate me."
"I didn't know you."
"You called me a bitch."
"I'm sorry," he says sincerely.
"You called me a liar," you accuse, unmasking the sting from the label.
"You are," Rafe insists without missing a beat. "But I'll take it."
You chew on your bottom lip, gnawing on the raw, broken skin until you taste iron. "I don't know," you admit, voice low, chest heavy. "I don't know if I can save you, Rafe."
This time, he doesn't have a response. This time, he's rendered speechless. It's a confessionalâwhat he truly desires from you is redemption. To possess a mirror that resolves him of his own sins.
His fingers loosen around your wrist.
"I have to go," you say softly, taking a step towards the exit.
But it isn't quick enough.
Rafe grabs you again and gives you one last tug, forcing you to land on his lap. Before you can move, he grabs the nape of your neck and pulls you close, forehead pressed against his, chest meeting the other.
You feel the rapid thumping of his own heartbeats.
"One taste," Rafe murmurs, his eyes on yours and they're pitch-black, all dissolved of his color. "Just one taste and I'll let you go."
"One?" You ask meekly, your heart threatening to spill.
"One." He confirms, reeking of the same desperation he's always been ashamed of revealing. But he doesn't care anymore. "And you can go back to Maybank and do whatever the fuck you want."
You search his face, trying to read him, but nothing but pure primal instinct coats his rugged features. He wants youâin a way that's so animalistic, he's actively holding himself back from taking more. A sick satisfaction curves up your throat at being desired by such capacity.
"Okay."
Rafe doesn't give you a moment to retract your consent before he drags your mouth down to his, silencing every pounding thought with a kiss.
Instinctively, you steel your spine from the assault before slowly unwinding. From all the venom and vile words spilled from Rafe's tongue, his mouth is surprisingly soft and tender. His kiss is rich with desire, gripped with desperation, and it pours all his silent confessions into one. Your heart has never raced so frantically but has never been this calm.
You want this.
Logic and reason chip away when you feel how warm Rafe is. How he laps over the broken piece of your bottom lip like worship, how he craves you with the depravity of a man receiving his last meal, licking you clean until you're nothing but bones.
It's intoxicating. Where has Rafe been all your life? Why haven't you done this sooner? Your mind can't find a proper answer until a slow, nauseating reminder strikes your drunken and lustful state. It's because you're taken. It answers. You're committed to someone who isn't him.
Pulling away, you breathe, "Rafeâ"
"Not enough," he declares roughly, dragging your back and stealing another kiss. It's as if it's the only air he's willing to take. He demands itâit's his.
And yet, for all your stream of moral consciousness, there's little resistance.
You allow him to take you. Devour you. To suck on your bottom lip until a metallic tang is shared between you, and to feel the warm liquid ooze onto your tongue like sacred waters. He tastes so good, and Rafe's hands fall from your arm to your waist, tugging you along until you're centered on his lap. With an automatic roll of your hips, he groans, and you feel the growing erection form in his jeans demonstrating his obsession with you.
It's just one. But one kiss turns into two and three, and suddenly you can't stop. Nothing has ever felt as right as this moment with Rafe.
Pulling back a second time, your murmur against his swollen lips. "This is a bad idea."
"This is the best goddamn idea I've ever had," he breathes into your mouth, his hand straying to cup a handful of your ass under your shorts. "You taste better than I imagined."
"What do I taste like?"
"Mine," Rafe answers breathily, before cupping the back of your neck once again and aligning your mouth to his.
Addiction. Rafe is certain that's what this is. The way you rock against him, the way your body molds into hisâlike a perfect puzzle finding its matchâhe can't help but believe in fate. It infuriates him that it took him this long.
But even in a perfect moment, the illusion quickly shatters by a grating voice from the distance. Rafe wants nothing more than to ignore its bugging nuisance, but you can't seem to.
Because it's your boyfriend.
You rip away from Rafe to discover JJ's silhouette approaching the shore, searching for you. Panic zigzags through your chest and you swiftly leave Rafe's lap, brushing away any criminalizing evidence of your infidelity.
"That's one. We're done."
When JJ arrives, Rafe doesn't move. He doesn't even make a gesture to conceal the situation as JJ's eyes dart between the two of you, trying to piece together what you were doing with the Kook in the first place.
But no one reveals a thing. Not even you. You quickly apologize for leaving the party and fumble a flimsy excuse for Rafe's presence. And JJ's birdbrain accepts it, causing Rafe to scoff at the fool you're with.
When he takes your hand, leading you back to the party, you quickly acceptâdragging yourself into the same space you beg to break from. And doing nothing but leaving Rafe behind.
He could leave now. After all, he came out to the shores searching for you. But there's a calamity that comes from being out here. Seeing the waters, watching the crashing of the waves. It allows him to truly thinkâaway from the noises, away from the people, away from all the meaningless distractions.
Rafe swipes his thumb across his bottom lip, feeling the buzzing sensation left behind from your kiss, and collects a single droplet of blood. It must've spilled from you, or his bitten tongue, he doesn't know for sure. All he does is slip it right back into his mouth.
And for the first time throughout this entire night, Rafe grins. A real one. A devious one. Because he's coming to a familiar conclusion.
You parade among the people who don't give a damn about you, who don't know a single truth, and pretend you fit in their world. But you don't. You're a liar.
But as Rafe remembers the taste of your hot lips on his, the way your body fits in with his, the taste of your blood on his tongueâhe realizes, so is he.
Because there's no way that is the last time he'll kiss you. That he has you. No. He had one taste and it wasn't enough.
Rafe is coming back for more.
Whether you like it or not.

Saw your tag. Maybe this puts a damper on other ZeLink hopefuls but not for me. Can you imagine what a friendship would be like post game? They saved each other without even knowing each other. The potential for a relationship there is so fun and interesting. Ugh I havenât finished the game but I hope some fantastic fanfic has been written already or else Iâll have to get brainstorming.
Honestly so sweet (in a sad way) that Link was getting sucked into Eeby Deeby and his last action was making sure to crack Zelda's prison so she at least had a chance to escape :')
#eow#tloz#the complicated feelings Zelda must have#this guy she doesnât even know sacrificed his life for her and had been saving others for awhile#she learns bits and pieces about him along the journey#and Link hardly knows her but is willing to risk his life for her multiple times#now he just has to trust that other people including Zelda are working while heâs stuck in a bad situation#I havenât finished the game but ughhhh the basis for a friendship and later romance is good#i can imagine it

how do you feel about a heavy portion of communists being ableist? sending disabled people to prison for being physically unable to work and then acting like that didn't happen doesn't make disabled people confident that communism won't hurt them just as bad as capitalism (I'm not saying billions of trillions dies from communism I'm just saying ''those who won't work won't eat'' is fucking evil especially when I see that rhetoric in modern day! You can say 'oh a wheelchair user can do teaching or archiving' but that ignores how many disabled people are bedbound or fully paralyzed!)
ARTICLE 12. In the U.S.S.R. work is a duty and a matter of honour for every able-bodied citizen, in accordance with the principle: "He who does not work, neither shall he eat."
The principle applied in the U.S.S.R. is that of socialism : "From each according to his ability, to each according to his work."
[...]
ARTICLE 120. Citizens of the U.S.S.R. have the right to maintenance in old age and also in the case of sickness or loss of capacity to work.
This right is ensured by the extensive development of social insurance of workers and employees at state expense, free medical service for the working people and the provision of a wide network of health resorts for the use of the working people.
This is the USSR's 1936 consistution, emphasis mine. Not a perfect constitution by any means, but this is very clearly antithetical to what you believe happened. Disabled people in my own country today have less rights and even less guarantees of those rights being respected. Again, the USSR was not perfect and I'm not saying it was. But you're ascribing willful malice that is embedded in marxism to circumstances that were not easily circumvented. The USSR was an imperfect state lacking in sufficient social protections, which came from times of feudalism without any kind of protection in any aspects save for the nobility, and whose collapse led to unparalleled misery and war. "He who does not work shall not eat" never included disabled people. It's a slogan, and slogans are not nuanced. What the USSR never did was enshrine that slogan into law literally, it always explicitly addressed able-bodied people.
Let's also look at a more modern constitution, Cuba's, from 2019
ARTICLE 42. All people are equal before the law, recieve the same protection and treatment from authorities and enjoy the same rights, freedoms and opportunities, without discrimination on the basis of sex, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, ethnic origin, skin color, religious faith, disability, national or territorial origin, or any other condition or personal circumstance that implies a harmful distinction before human dignity.
All have the right to enjoy the same public spaces and establishments.
Likewise, receive the same salary for the same work, without any discrimination.
The violation of the principle of equality is outlawed and is sanctioned by law.
[...]
ARTICLE 64. The right to work is recognized. The person in condition to work has a right to obtain dignified employment, corresponding to their selection, qualification, aptitude, and economic and societal requirements.
ARTICLE 65. Every person has a right for their work to be compensated as a function of its quality and quantity, expression of the socialist principle "from each according to their capacity, to each according to their work".
[...]
ARTICLE 68. The person who works has a right to social security. The State, through the system of social security, guarantees their adequate protection when they are unable to work because of age, maternity, paternity, disability, or illness.
[...]
ARTICLE 70. The State, through social assistance, protects the people without resources or refuge, not capable of working, who lack family members able to bring them help; and to families who, due to the insufficient income they recieve, if they so choose, in accordance with the law
I don't see anywhere a part that says all disabled people are jailed. Cuba definitely does have effective and real protections for all kinds of disabled people, and just like the USSR, the principle of the duty to work is not applied directly to disabled people. It's hard still to find information on the practical application of disability protection that's not funded by Radio Free Whatever, but here's an article about Cuba's:

Howdy Train Your Dragon??
HEAVILY INSPIRED from @tragisbawls western AU and also I believe that one âHowdy Train Your Dragonâ post by @wardenofdragons
please let me know if Iâve made any mistakes in crediting but these guyâs posts were my main inspiration fr
enjoy some WIPs, currently Iâm making them for reference so I can draw the gang doing some scenes
might have gone a bit insane over the festive season and fallen head first into this western AU. basically everything is the same but instead of Vikings itâs cowboys! Iâm gonna colour these all and want to do more art/drawings of this too bc it has been occupying my thoughts lol
more info đ
- set in a fictional Old West, similar to how the canon treats Viking lore and accuracy, assume this is the same đ
- in this AU, Hiccup loses his leg before he meets Toothless in some sort of stampede/horse-related accident, which makes Stoic, the cheif of the town, more protective of him/not want him to go near them
- Hiccup finds Toothless as a wild mustang, trapped in a gorge. Hijinx ensue, Hiccup saves him, and they bond.
-Hiccup and Fishlegs live in the same town. Astrid, Lout, Ruff and Tuff are part of a group of travelling cowboys from out of town or somethin lol. Something happens and Legs and Hic have to travel with them for a bit. Havenât worked everything out yet but if people have ideas feel free to let me know!
- Ruff and Tuff are in charge of the supplies wagon and they often confuse Barf & Belch with their arguing. The poor horses go in different directions or one of them might stop while the other keeps going đ
- Meatlug is usually seen pulling a little wagon with extra supplies/Fishlegs rides in the wagon sometimes when they go on adventures so she ends up being the slowest in the group, similar to how she is the slowest of the gangâs dragons
- Hookfang is an Arabian horse and he has a really firey temper and has a similar relationship to Snotlout as in the canon. Snotlout made Hookfang rear up on his hind legs once, but Snotlout fell off and Hookfang left him in the dust đ
- Astrid is the leader of the cowboys. Stormfly has little braids in her mane as thatâs Astridâs way of showing affection.
(alsomyaskboxisopenifanyonewantstodiscusthisauI AM HAPPY TO YAP-)
#howdy train your dragon#babe Iâm gonna go insane over these btw#I have my own lore but at interested to see other peoples ideas!!#httyd#how to train your dragon#western! au#cowboy au#httyd as cowboys#also can you tell my favourite movie is Spirit:Stallion of the Cimmarron đ#next to httyd ofc#hiccup haddock#astrid hofferson#snotlout jorgenson#fishlegs ingerman#tuffnut thorston#ruffnut thorston#toothless#httyd as horse#fan art#sketches#WIP#julesdraws#will post more!!#eret and drago are next đ

I can do it alone, but he can also save me
Fem reader x Hwang In-ho / Fem reader x Hwang Jun-ho
âSummary: Jun-ho's girlfriend was a decorated policegirl, strong and brave, she, along with Gi-hun were taken to the games to stop them, however, there was a setback in between
âNote: Thank you for welcoming me so well on this platform! I'm still learning how to use it, sorry, Wattpad is my thing LOL But I'm understanding it more now
âWarning: Maybe some drama? Some violence and discreet flirting
The reader doesn't know who is In-ho, Jun-ho refused to talk about his past with her, so she is engrossed in the true identity of this handsome man.
Well, the plan hadn't worked out the way they wanted.
They had taken away their trackers and any object, even the smallest, that they could use to defend themselves.
âNow what do we do... âGi-hun muttered more to himself but audible to the girl in front him.
âI think the best thing to do now would be not to die âshe answered seriously, the vows had been made and unfortunately, despite Gi-hun's attempts to persuade the players to withdraw, staying had been the final decision âFor now we must eat if we want to win the next game âShe added holding out in front of him the food the guards were giving them, but he refused to take it, he looked so lost in his own mind that she had no choice but to sigh and sit down next to him.
âCome on, open your mouth, belly full and heart happy âJung-bae, Gi-hun's friend sitting on his right side, spoke while holding a spoon with the egg in front of his face.
âLast time I was here, many innocent people died âGi-hun said, looking at his friend seriously. He wanted to convince him that everything he said was true and that they should leave there as soon as possible.
âHelp us then.
There was a third voice that caught the girl's attention, it was number 001, the one who had the decisive vote and preferred to stay, whoever had the blue circle was a suicidal person from her perspective.
The rest of the players surrounded them waiting for some advice or positive words from the previous winner.
The girl just listened attentively to each of them, but the most interested was 001. He asked him more concise questions and spoke confidently, as if these games were not very different from the ones they played at recess when they were little.
Something that seemed curious to her.
He felt her gaze so turned it towards her so he could look the police in the eye.
Of course he had investigated her, from the moment she searched for her boyfriend on land and sea, he wouldn't say it out loud but his brother was lucky because if it hadn't been for her him would be dead under water.
Her eyes looked at him with caution and analysis, like a cat looking at a dog with distrust but ready to scratch if the situation arose.
He found it interesting.
After the rest of the players left, 001 stayed with them to continue talking until the conversation increased in tension, Gi-hun complained to him, if he hadn't voted for the circle they would have left there.
âFine, let's stop this conversation now, there's no point in blaming each other âJung-bae said to avoid any upcoming fight.
âThat's right, now what we have to do is be prepared for the next game âShe said âWe have a bit of an advantage âadded, looking at Gi-hun.
âI would like to join too âsaid number 388 jumping out of his bed.
He introduced himself as Dae-ho and the conversation changed from the winning player to the navy and the fact that both he and Jung-bae had been members.
It seemed like they would get along well and be a good team, however, the atmosphere became tense again when the purple-haired boy with the number 230 threw player 333 to the ground, being followed by 124, who kicked him in the face.
âÂżShouldn't we tell them to stop? â Jung-bae asked.
âYes...
Seeing that neither of the two men was going to intervene, the girl stood up and walked towards them.
âThat's enough, two against one isn't fair.
âYou better stay out of this âThanos pointed at her angrily, but after looking at her closely, he let out a laugh and clapped his hands, which echoed throughout the room and caught everyone's attention âI know you, you... policegirl, you arrested me a month ago.
Now she remembered it too, of course, that snobby rapper who tried to bribe her after she caught him buying and transporting drugs but she decided to ignore him and walked to 333 to shake his hand. âGet up
Before he could accept her kind gesture, Thanos pushed her back failing to knock down.
âThis is not your playground, policegirl, I can do whatever the fuck I want here.
She remained silent, still with head held high, she was not afraid of him at all, she could easily defeat him but did not have time to do or say anything when 001 intervened.
âThat's no way to talk to a lady.
She could defend herself, she didn't need any man to speak for her, however, that sentence seemed quite chivalrous, Jun-ho also intervened for her from time to time and that was a gesture that inevitably made her smile.
A smile that In-ho noticed.
âIs she your girlfriend? Or do you just fuck her? âAs soon as he finished the word, In-ho already had him firmly held by the hair.
124 ran towards them with the intention of helping the purple-haired boy but in the blink of an eye he was already on the ground, the girl had knocked down with a kick.
With just three blows, In-ho subdued Thanos and pinned to the ground.
She silently analyzed him again, those movements were too precise to be from someone without experience, he could have been part of the police or even the navy.
They were congratulated with applause when the 230 began to gasp for air and forgiveness. As returned to their place, they both formally introduced themselves by giving respective names, a sign of trust.
Once again In-ho confirmed what thought, she was a respectable and valuable woman, one he would like to challenge more than should have for having gotten into these games.
N/A: I wanted to make a fic with a theme like that HAHA

bioshock 1 grabbed me by the throat and said "greed and ego are the death of man when backed by unchecked power and influence. we are defined by our connections to each other. we are at our best when we provide for and take care of each other" and i could not help but fall in love
#bioshock#bioshock 1#it's even in the game's mechanics!#the story reinforces this wholly!#i watched mike flanagan's new show and verna's speech to lenore reminds me of how you get the âgoodâ ending#that by saving the little sisters jack's actions had a wider impact than the immediate present#bc those girls have a chance to grow up and save other people#and the people they save will save others#and so on and so forth#god don't you miss when games weren't afraid to say something
