I’m actually obsessed with the idea of Steve trying his best to get Nancy’s family to love him so she’ll go on a date with him, and Mike just fucking it up.

Ted? Easy. They talk sports.

Karen? Great. He’s exactly the kind of boy she wants her daughter dating.

Holly? Piece of cake. All he had to do was play dolls with her.

But Mike.

Steve tries to talk to him but after he called D&D a board game, Mike kinda acts like he hates him. Nancy says he doesn’t. Steve isn’t convinced, but when in doubt, ask a bunch of questions and let the other person do the talking.

That’s how he got his English teacher to like him.

It doesn’t really work with Mike because every conversation is a variation of this:
