Tell me about your tattoos if you have them and or what tattoos you want

i have two tattoos, and i plan to get more!

i got the first one two days after my 18th birthday, i had been planning it forever. it's a memorial piece for my first dog Rocky. I got it on the outside of my thigh, very high up so most of it is covered when i wear shorts.

i covered up the bit with his face because i dont like to share it very much, im terrified of the idea of someone finding a picture of it and getting the exact same tattoo because that's my dog and he meant the world to me. i know its a bit of an irrational fear, and i dont worry about it with my other designs, but i try not to share it online fully, but heres a different picture of him!

the flowers underneath are red roses, lilies, and forget me nots, for their specific meanings

the next tattoo i got just a couple months ago for a 7 year friend-iversary

its based on several layers of inside jokes

my long-term tattoo goal is to fill out my leg like a sleeve made of individual tattoos. i also intend to design all of my own tattoos.

some other ones i have in mind for my next ones are - a ghost (i always draw sheet ghosts the same way) - the mystery machine from scooby doo - the irken invader symbol from invader zim - a swarm of bats (probably on my inner thigh) - moon phases - lavender (and amethyst?)

Danny puts in the hours to figure out duplicates faster expressly so he can flirt w/Wes as Fenton & Phantom at the same time

(everyone sees them both at the same time & just 'see they aren't the same person)

& you know Danny is milking this bit for all its worth.

He does the whole dedicate wins/wink/throw kisses as phantom a good two weeks

Then he starts up as Fenton.

Fentons don't do half measures: the first thing he does is present Wes with a bouquette of three red roses surrounded by blue hyacinths, white roses, & forget-me-nots.

Then he hands him a box.

Spoiler alert: Danny bought a triple star system and named the stars "Fenton," "Weston," and "Phantom."

He goes to class before Wes can formulate a reply.

The school is losing their minds like "hey okay so Fenton doesn't mind Wes dating both Dannys?"

"No way he's obviously just making grand gestures to try & win him over while doing his best to ignore his jealousy"

"But have you seen Phantom? Who wouldn't have a crush on him?"

"Maybe the ghost hunters' kid who runs every time he sees something green or feels even slightly chilly?"

"He could just be shy!"

Yeah, Casper high (& Amity in general) are going wild making up theories about it all, and Danny isn't answering questions.

He does keep it up with the gifts tho.

The next it's a bag of Wes' favorite food - chocolate covered raspberries.

Then it's a pair of anti-ecto knuckles (like brass knuckles, but for fighting ghosts).

Then Phantom gives him a necklace made of what looks like pure diamonds (it's ghost ice).

So the next day Fenton doesn't have a gift & they worry maybe it was jealousy.

Until he walks in with a jewelry box the next morning like "Sorry it took so long. I had little trouble figuring out how to get the crystallization just right." He opens the box to a necklace that shines like emerald. Danny explains that it's crystallized ectoplasm.

(Danny fully kicked his parents out of the lab. He lured them into the kitchen then locked the door behind him. They're half ready to bash in the door when he's like "I need the lab so I can one-up Phantom!" They have him let them watch 'for safety reasons' and he's like "FINE but touch NOTHING." They're in awe about the crystal ecto. Danny has to swat their hands away several times throughout the process tho lol)

Wes out here like "I don't even wear necklaces???"

This goes on for another week before both Dannys are seen together for the first time: together, handing him a basketball signed by his ten favorite players.

Wes is just mentally screaming bc it's the best gift ever but how are there two of him???

A lot people were worried that even if Fenton wasn't scared of Phantom, Phantom might dislike him for being a Fenton, so one of the A-listers is like "so you guys get along? You're not, like, jealous of each other?"

"Nope!" Fenton grins bright, cheerful.

"We've come to an agreement," Phantom looks like the cat that ate the canary as he drapes an arm over Fenton's shoulder.

They look to Wes, speaking as one "We don't mind sharing."

Wes turns beet red and makes a noise like a dying animal (a dying 'in denial' more like lol).

Jack & Maddie appear, ofc, & the phantom dupe sinks into the ground & cancels itself. Then they lecture Danny & Wes about ghosts being evil/not dateable. Forbid Danny from being involved w/Phantom even if it is indirectly via same boyfriend & tell Wes they'll talking to his parents as well about the whole ghost thing

The A-listers nearby try to argue about it being romantic/phantom being a hero, but they ignore & take Danny home. Cue Amity going absolutely feral about the move from 'ghost & hunter's child competing for a partner' to 'forbidden romance between ghost, human, & ghost hunter child'

Danny starts talking up Phantom when people ask if he thinks he's cute. Wes gets moody about it bc he's like 'ur inflating ur own ego u rat bastard' but Danny just 'there's no need to be jealous, Wes' *looks him up & down 'you're cute too'

Wes' gay ass is struggling with his enemies-to-lovers gay awakening. Manz is going tomato colors on the reg now. He goes for to a movie or something with Danny & gaslights himself about it like 'ah yes, an opportunity to try and gather more evidence. Despite the fact that I forgot all of my recording devices at home...'

Danny giving his parents the silent treatment until they start treating phantom like a person.

Maybe he lets them catch a duplicate when he thinks they actually want to talk to Phantom & hear him out? idk

I just need a fanfic where everyone thinks that Wes keeps saying that Danny and Phantom are the same person because he has a crush on both of them and it's in his negation phase.

He does not. He swear he doesn't. You just don't understand. There's a whole investigation made by himself to PROVE that they're, indeed, the same person.

And they go all like, yes Wes, we know you are a little bit crazy about love but we respect and support you as long as you don't become a stalker or worse. We accepted ghosts, we can accept a poly boy.

And Danny doesn't help. He's all "oh Wea, I didn't know you think so good about me 😳😳😳" And Wes all "I DON'T" and Sam/Tuxker all "You don't treat my child like that."

Phantom,on the other side starts to flirt with him, jokingly. Dedicating him some wins, throwing him kisses, winking an wye in his direction, etc.

Amity Park is sure that there's a whole love triangle and it's kind of fucked up because in one side we have the strongest ghost and in the other side we have tiny child from ghost busters. That's drama.

It's their fucking novel, tea, whatever. They eat this shit, they inhale it, they live and only live for this shit. This is THE Drama.

Wes just wants to cry at this point.

Another edition to the flower series!! I had a lot of fun once again, and I think this one took even longer, at just shy of 7 hours. I am so happy that I'm graduating in a few days so I can do more stuff like this. It really does make me very happy to just sit down and paint for a few hours. This piece is a companion piece to the Emmet One, I did a few days ago.

Again, the flower meanings will be under the cut, but read at your discretion because it makes the piece sad.

Alright so flower meanings! Again most of the flowers mean grief in some aspect, but it's also related to memory (or the loss of) Rosemary Flowers (top left in the hat): Rosemary flowers usually represent love and remembrance. In this case, they represent Ingo's love for his missing person but the pain that comes with not being able to remember.

Asphodel Flowers (On the left near Ingo's face): The Asphodel flowers mean, "My regrets follow you to the grave," but it can also mean, "I will remember you beyond the tomb." The second meaning is the one that I am referencing, as Ingo will likely never see Emmet again, but he remembers that he misses someone, and regrets that he never got to meet them again.

White Camellia (over the eye): This flower means a few different things, but the one that I am referencing is the meaning "longing for you." I believe the camellia is akin to the rose, where its more familiar meaning is romance or heartbreak. Still, the meaning I am deriving from is one of the Victorian languages of flowers (there is a fantastic book I will reference at the very end of it is incredible and I love it dearly) Anyway, this flower is self-explanatory in the way that Ingo longs for the person he never remembers and likely will never see again, but he wishes he could. Forget-Me-Nots (on the right by Ingo's face): I reused this flower from the other piece to connect the two pieces, but I'll reuse the meaning here, as I am using it in the same context. Forget-me-nots represent true love; this flower means love and respect towards the person it is gifted to, and the person will never be forgotten in your thoughts. I am slightly alluding to maybe Ingo being gifted this flower by Emmet before he departed, as a reminder that someone respects and loves him very much, but Ingo cannot remember who. However, I haven't decided yet. Lily of the Valley (Very bottom in the bouquet): The lily of the valley's lesser-known meaning, the pain, and loss that comes with death, is the one I'm using. Representing Ingo's minimal memory of Emmet and Emmet essentially dying within Ingo's mind as Ingo makes a new home for himself in Hisui. However, despite all the sadness and loss, Ingo hasn't forgotten entirely. Willow Tree Leaves (on the right side in the hat band): I reused these as well, as I really like the shape of the leaves and how I worked it into the piece, I'll also reuse the same explanation of the meaning. While not technically a flower, the willow tree has its own meaning. A willow tree often represents sorrow and loss, as well as mourning. OKAY! Here is my rant about flowers. Also, the book I referenced is Florigrophy by Jessica Roux. I love all the illustrations, and the writing and explanations are wonderful. I am working on getting a copy of my own, as I have been borrowing the one from my school library, but it is wonderful. I would recommend it. Thank you so much for reading this! Those random flowers should've been forget-me-nots, even tho they don't really look as such. I feel like their name is pretty self-explanatory, but they also mean devotion and remembrance(as far as I read, which this time, shamefully, hasn't been a lot! They were a last moment choice). And oh, they're also blue, so!

first of all THEY HAVE MATCHING DESIGNS!!!! rapunzel drew out all of their tattoos and she made these two specifically to represent them as a trio….the birds being. self explanatory of course and the sun, moon, and earth representing rapunzel cass and eugene respectively….:3 this also was meant to kinda match the twins mobile i designed for my fic. These ones in particular are SOOO important to me

i’ve never shown cass’ properly since they’re on her back but one of eugene’s is visible here….along with the sun and moon you mentioned, the sun crest and the brotherhood symbol…..:3

AND CASS’ FLOWERS ARE MY FAVORITE ONE UNIRONICALLY BC IT HAS. Quite a bit more background to it. there’s also a sword wrapped in the vines thats BARELY visible in either of the pieces it’s shown in so i made it more clear in my doodle.

this one kinda has two different meanings…..you’ll have to excuse the fact that it’s COMPLETELY inaccurate bc i designed it from memory and i’ll finalize it eventually but this is meant to vaguely represent the fictional “minne” flowers mentioned in “rapunzel: day one”- which. Idk how well known this is but the meaning of minne historically is i shit you not, “chivalrous love”, or “a kind of romantic love between a knight and a noblewoman” and there is NOOOO FUCKING WAY THAT WAS A COINCIDENCE THEY KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING

THE SECOND ONE is just something i made up but the real world flowers that i’ve always associated with minne bc of their similarities are forget me nots…. which. the symbolism and name of i think are VERY fitting with cass’ character. she just really wants to be important and like. Remembered fondly by people methinks. like she’s afraid of one day disappearing and (in her eyes) there being no point or reason for her existence in the first place.

these are the only ones i have set in stone for NOW but most of my tattoo hcs for rapunzel came from just. Drawing her a bunch and adding new ones every time so i think they’ll probably acquire some new ones as time goes on, especially since i still need to actually finalize the ones they do have……but Yeah idk. i’m insane.

ranting about chapter titles of my prison duo fic for 1000+ words

so all of the titles of my prison duo fic (the sun and the night sky) are names of flowers. i had the fun idea and then i couldn't stop because i started a pattern and i refused to break the pattern unless it was important story wise (i'll get to that)

so here's a master list of all the first 10 chapters, their titles, what the flowers mean and why i chose them!

spoiler warning - go read my fic if you haven't already! (and if you don't want to but still wanna read this tw: talking about eating disorders)

Daffodils > Daffodils - new beginnings and rebirth In this chapter Icarus is handing over the title of Quixis to hc!Sherbert, they get to go home but they've changed so much they're practically a different person. not only did their eye change back, making them whole again, they've seen so much happen across the multiverse, watched other versions make mistakes and just watched them all live. they've learned from their lives. going home after about 200-250 years will be like being reborn for them, its a new beginning. especially because no one remembers them, not even the world itself, not even the records.

Forget-me-nots and Yellow Roses > Forget me nots - rememberance, and a symbol of memory loss/dementia Icarus meets with people they've known, Rae, Violet (also Isla, but they dont remember her, they didn't get their memories of the resets fully back). No one remembers them, Rae thought they died as a child. Near the end of the chapter Caspian gets home, he knows Icarus, and he reveals he never forgot them. He restores the memories of Rae and Violet, hence rememberance. They're getting remembered. > Yellow Roses - happiness, friendship, a way of saying "you make me happy" Icarus and Violet are friends in this universe, both of them have wanted it to be more for so long but they've both been too scared to lose the other to say anything. So they are really close friends, and Icarus is just so happy Centross remembers them that they don't mind that they're just friends, they can't bring themself to want them to be more when there was even a moment where they thought they'd never get what they had before back because even if they were to start again, they'd never be as close as they were. They both went through so much and they went through a lot of it together. They were both so shitty to each other but they stayed close despite it, they forgave each other despite it. So Icarus is happy with friendship, and Centross does make them happy.

Bluebells and Lavender > Bluebells - constancy, gratitude, everlasting love Centross is their constant, he's been there all three resets that they remember. He's always been there, and as Sherb (the actual real one) has mentioned before that Icarus' whole emotional state is tied to him. When they're fighting, they're spiraling, when they're happy they're happy, when (they think) he's dead they're deteriotation, and doing everything to bring him back. They're so grateful that they have him, and he's their rock. And of course they have always loved him, and him them. Everlasting love is so self explanatory they're GAY and LOVE EACH OTHER forever and ever > Lavender - silence, devotion, calmness and serenity Icarus says to much about Quixis stuff and shuts down, they go silent. Centross is devoted to helping them calm down and get somewhere safe, "One thing he knew was he was not leaving their side until they were sober" look how devoted he is look at him, he cares so much!!!! Centross helps them calm down, and get calm enough to fall asleep, they feel safe and calm around him.

Yellow Roses and Lily of the Valley > Yellow Roses - cowardice, sickness and mental illness These have appeared already, but they also have negative meanings, the repeated use of them now in their negative symbolism shows a shift in the tone of the story. This is the chapter they have breakfast with Ghaae+ household, they are unable to eat the food and dissociate during the meal, they end up leaving early, blaming it on a hangover - this part shows the cowardice, running away from their problem and hiding/running away. And the sickness and mental illness serve as a way to show that this is the beginnings of an eating disorder showing. > Lily of the Valley - sadness, pain, loss and death (+ poisonous) This shows the negatives of the breakfast, paired with the yellow roses the title of the chapter shows how Icarus' developing mental illness is already poisoning parts of their life. (thanking Vex for finding these flowers they're so good and they work so well and i struggled so hard with finding flowers with bad meanings <3)

Cornflowers and White Anemone > Cornflowers - symbol of hope, c!Ocie's favourite Yeah i just picked cornflowers cause i think they're c!Ocies fav and if im wrong its because i associate them with her or smth. Also symbol of hope!! its important because- > White Anemone - expectations, anticipation and undying love Violet wants to ask Ocie if he can date Ic but he wants to give her time to process the memories first (bc she hated them for a while there), he'll still love her and he'll always love them. While he's not with them he's anxious to get back to them, to make sure they're ok. Back with Icarus there are some unspoken expectations for them to eat, something they aren't able to do, specifically there's the scene Violet sits on the floor and tried to get them eat some bread, they end up dropping it on the floor so its inedible. Anticipation also works as this chapter is left on a cliffhanger, Centross asks Icarus if they're doing okay.

Orange Lillies > Orange Lillies - hatred, pride, disdain and contempt (+ they only live for a few weeks) Hatred, disdain and contempt are all emotions Icarus directs towards themself and their own body. They look at themself for the first time and see how underweight they are, they hate how they look and they hate themself. The pride symbolizm is irony, they should be feeling proud after managing to eat but they don't, it's a taunting meaning.

A Single Daffodil... > Singular Daffodil - misfortune A daffodil on its own represents differently than multiple, you might notice that all of the chapter titles are pluralises, including the use of Daffodils in the first one. In this chapter Icarus throws up for the the first time in the fic and they also faint in the second section. Which leads to Centross finding about their difficulties eating (neither of them know that it's an eating disorder, so they never use those words for it). It has the elipses at the end to show its split into two chapters.

...and Purple Hyacinth > Purple Hyacinth - Sorrow and a desire for forgivness All of the two days this chapter follows are not super happy for the both of them, near the end Icarus claims they've finished their house and that they plan to stay there. This leads Centross to go on a small tangent about how they didn't make a farm and they don't have any food, he tells them that they could die (pretty sorrowful if you ask me). Icarus feels the need to apologise for making him look after them.

Dandelions? > Dandelions - Hope, healing and resilience Icarus is doing a lot better in this chapter, they've made a lot of improvement really quickly and Centross is really proud of them for it, he has hope that they'll continue to improve. > ? This chapter is from Violet's point of view. The question mark is put there to tell the reader that something is wrong, that things are not as they seem. The reader not being able to see Icarus' thought or view of anything is intentional as they are in fact not doing okay. They are not getting better, they're trying to pretend to be better. For Centross. To make him trust them and make him happy.

Colorblind Not a flower. Remember when I said I didn't want to break the pattern of flower chapter titles unless it was important story wise? Yeah. This is where its important Icarus succesfully fooled Centross into thinking they were okay, and he lets them be alone that night. They know they're not okay but they don't want to get better at this point. This is their rock bottom. They punch the mirror in their bathroom out of disgust of their body and face, they faint from the motion, falling into the mirror and onto a pile of broken glass. They are left bleeding out on the floor of their bathroom, behind a locked door.

The title of this chapter comes from a song i listened to on loop to write most of the Icarus chapters, though it is available on spotify one of the creators is not a good guy and i don't want him to get money from it. The song is Empty by Jaiden Animations (wonderful and perfect) and Boyinaband <- hes the icky one, there are re-uploads of the song on youtube. it is a really good song (and the music video is cool)

Empty is a song about Jaiden's personal experience with an eating disorder, so it's very fitting. The title comes from the line "I know it's wrong but just because you know you're colorblind doesn't mean you can see the colors" The whole bit with them looking in the mirror is inspired by the line "I'm looking but I can't see myself" They look into their mirror but they don't see their own face, only Fables, and every other version of themself.

Colorblind also works really well against the flower chapters, because flowers are colourful, so colorblind means they can't see the colours of the flowers, and the colours are very important when it comes to symbolizm, they can't see them. It means that they look back on the week since they've got back and they can't see it for what it is. They actually can't remember most of it, i don't think this would ever come up in the fic outright but Icarus doesn't remember most of their days, all of them sort of blur together and they can't rememeber what thing happened on what day. This is a result of both their disocation and lack of eating leaving them disorented.

Artem Wing —Lavender Rose

Now first of all, Lavender Roses mean love at first sight which is pretty self explanatory tbh. The moment he laid his eyes on you when you walked into the lawfirm for the first time, something in him...bloomed (heh)

Suddenly, he notices how your hair shone from underneath the hues of the sun. He notices how you often smiled brightly whilst looking at animal videos during your break, he notices how your forehead creased as you desperately concentrated on a certain case.

Whenever you were within sight, everything around you just slowly fades into white, highlighting how you looked even more.

During a very difficult case, it bothers him how often you sighed as the echoes of your keyboard filled his ears so the very next day, you walk to your desk only to find a variety of Roses with Chocolates attached to them. As you lift the Roses, you see a note fall out with "Don't overwork yourself. Take breaks every now and then. I'll be rooting for you." written within it.

Vyn Richter —Snapdragons

Snapdragons are known to mean both deception and graciousness. And honestly, I think it fits him very well like, hes a red flag but a hot one at that EHEM but his deceptions usually have a reason behind them.

More importantly if he's in love with you, he'll probably try to protect you with deception like, we all know how the royal family customs(?) in Svart are like (talking about CN server card of VynRosa visiting Svart and having to sleep in different rooms) He'll try to keep you away from his family in fear of hurting you in some way, or just overall preventing your relationship turn into one like his parents'.

Yellow Jasmines are also an option me thinksss

At this point I'm just focusing on his graceful and formal etiquette as a member of the royal family but honestly, it's his grace that makes me fall for himmmm

But if he could describe you or his feelings for you as a flower, he'd pick Cosmos. It's meaning is Order, Harmony, Beauty, Self-reliance, Resilience, Kindness and infinity.

Order and Harmony describes how you always put his mind at ease or make him drop his shoulders and relax whenever you're within the vicinity. Or for a more softer approach, Imagine getting awakened by Luke giving you a kiss on the lips and the moment you open your eyes, you see your beloved Luke's smile as he greets you good morning</3

For starters, it means Innocence, Loyal love, and 'I'll never tell'. The last part can be interpreted in two ways; that he'll never tell his feelings towards you or that he'll always keep your secrets.

For the first one, we saw how he hesitated momentarily if he was going to confess to us in the 1st anniversary cards. He keeps in mind his uncle's warnings of how brutal the media can be. Marius always wanted to protect you so if his presence in your life brings you harm, he'd rather stray far away from you than bring a threat to your life.

For the second one, despite his annoying attitude, he's always someone that you can lean on. Someone that you can trust or tell your deepest secrets to. He appreciates how much trust you put in him which in turn would make him even more determined to be someone you trust so much that you'll give yourself over to him and vice versa.

Little Nightmares... but flowers?

Okay so there's this thing in OMORI where each main character has a flower that correlates to their personality. Kel being a cactus because he's resilient, Hero being a rose because he's universally loved, etc.

Now what if we were to assign flowers to each Nightmare Kid?

Like Noone, Low, Mono, Six, Cici, Raincoat, etc.

Ideas/flowers I assigned are listed below:

I think Mono would be a crocus or a forget-me-not. They're both colours I think he'd like, and I've always imagined Mono to be a winter-birthday kid. Crocus are flowers that bloom in late winter, and I suppose that also represents resilience in a way??? Not many flowers bloom in the winter because of the cold. As for forget-me-nots... I think it's easy to explain? Forget-me-nots usually symbolize faithfulness and remembrance, and Mono just... radiates that stuff.

Six would either be a poppy, dandelion, or a bleeding hearts flower. Poppy because they actually have two meanings! In western culture, it represents death, because of its blood-red colour, while in eastern culture, they represent success or passion, if I remember correctly. Dandelion is... self-explanatory? It's yellow, like Six's raincoat, and it's a weed- just like Six- (/hj /hj) Bleeding hearts is also self-explanatory. It's literally a flower that looks like a bleeding heart. Plus they're cool, and I think Six would think so as well. I rest my case.

Noone is probably the easiest? I mean... she did have a flower in the podcast so my homework's already done for me. I think Noone would be a chrysanthemum or a poppy. Poppy for the same reason as Six, it means death and success Chrysanthemum because it's the flower that her parents left her before she was taken under Otto's "care"

Raincoat would probably be a hibiscus or a carnation. Raincoat was a pretty short-lived character, just like how hibiscus have a short life-span. They also mean "gentle" or something of the sort. Since Raincoat radiates gentle older-sister-energy, I'm giving this to her. Red carnations are a symbol of love (both romantic and platonic), protection, and passion. Raincoat feels like a very loving character, and a passionate one at that. She feels like she'd do anything in her power to protect anyone she loves. She just... feels like a carnation.

I don't have much to say about Runaway, but he feels like a periwinkle person. Reason 1, it means hope (apparently), and Runaway seems to have a lot of ties to "hope"? I'm not sure where or how we got there, but... nonetheless it's still there. Reason 2, it's blue. That's it. It's blue, just like Runaway. I would say the typical "water lily" or "lotus", because Runaway has a lot of connections to water... but... That's basic. Plus, lotus and lilies mean like... "purity" and "calmness" and all that jazz, and the Runaway in my head is the pure and utter opposite to "calm" and "virtuous". The only lily-flower I'd refer him to would be pink or yellow water lilies. Pink because they apparently mean friendship and joy, yellow because they mean energy and new beginnings.

Low and Alone are their own can of worms that I can't even open. We know next to nothing about these two, so how am I supposed to assign a flower based on their characteristics if I have no characteristics to work with? The only thing I can offer atm is Alone being a tiger lily and Low being a Birds of Paradise flower. Tiger lily because they remind me of Alone's silly goofy hair. And Birds of Paradise because... um... bird-boy.

eg. that one scene in liam's path, alfons' path chapter 4 premium story

all of his life, people have come to him for relief. so... if you come to him sobbing your heart out, he takes that as a sign to just go for it. liam went straight to alfons upon returning to the castle, knowing exactly what he would do. liam can't voice his desires directly, but alfons knows what he needs

in alfons' "fake lovers" story... he uses his ability to prevent kate from seeing and hearing all the suffering / screaming. alfons uses the ability to convince her to be his lover because... well...

1. she'd never accept him otherwise 💀 2. it makes things easier for both him and her. she might slip up or try to push him away, only adding to her inner conflict

everything he does is to mitigate others' suffering or to prevent it. it's the motto he lives by. it is behind his every intention.

but what if he just wants to be loved normally?

in this bond story, he doesn't use his ability or anything. no: he wants kate to smile at him of her own free will. without his ability. without an illusion.

it is an illusion intended for him. the illusion of a normal relationship. again: alfons has been used for relief all his life. none of it was "real love". perhaps he just wants a normal love. the relief of a simple and pure love, unobscured by illusions.

but he can't.

alfons has said again and again: "life is a tragedy". life causes suffering to all those it touches. despite all of his illusions, in the end he cannot change reality. at the end of the day, it changes nothing. he was doomed from the beginning never to have true love

"sylvatica". forget-me-nots symbolize true love, remembrance, devotion, faithfulness...

the complete opposite of him on the surface

but look how dedicated he is to elbert... contrary to popular belief, I think if alfons really loves someone I think he'd be as faithful as can be (i've heard that alfons is a jealous man 🤭)

alfons is a serious person - but only in private. similar to scenes where it's just clavis (sometimes with chevalier), clavis stops smiling and cracking jokes. in fact. he fucking FROWNS. or, if you'd like, nokto has these scenes too.

he only lets down his smile guard when someone isn't looking or if someone says something to crack his façade like "i'll never forget-" the bathtub card is self explanatory he's just by himself looking in the mirror and going "what am I doing with my life :3" okay that's enough jokes but you know what I mean right

...I took a peek at a translation. I got tempted. alfons doesn't want kate to see who he really is inside. that's why he blindfolds her. he's really quiet during that scene as well... but not because he's worried something will slip out, it's because he's really just a quiet person at heart

A bouquet of red spider lillies, forget-me-nots, purple hyacinth, deadly nightshades and white lillies

Why these flowers were chosen and their meaning: Spider lillies: Death, final goodbyes etc. Often used in funerals and grown around cemeteries.

Forget-me-nots: self-explanatory, but also a symbol of true love. Which in this case is subverted.

Purple hyacinth: deep sorrow, regret and a desire for forgiveness. I think this one's particularly interesting because it doesn't symbolize her directly but is, rather, very strongly tied to the impact her death had.

Deadly nightshade: also self-explanatory. Symbolises betrayal. In addition -- a plant that's (both in her universe and ours) historically been used for its poisonous properties.

White lillies: purity of the departed, when talking about death. Also for white of snow.

Four out of five flowers here are a popular choice for funerals/are associated with death. She died really young, betrayed, at the hands of the person she loved and trusted a lot, so I thought it would be fitting. Also in terms of color -- all of these together in a boquet would look like a splatter of blood on snowy and rocky terrain, which is fitting to the circumstances of her death as well.

Description:

This character died more than three thousand years the story she is from takes place. She is related to the protagonists in two ways: first is that she's probably their great-...-great grandparent's sister. Second is that they (2 twins) look very similar to her in terms of facial features.

This is significant because the guy who killed her ends up surviving and meeting them.

He's a changed man at that point. But at that singular moment when he sees one of the twin's faces for the first time, he has to Contemplate and battle a bajillion flashbacks. Which is a good thing because otherwise he would've probably ended up killing said twin. So, indirectly, she also saved her great-..-nephew's life at least once.

She lives on, very strongly, in her killer's (former lover's) memory. It's not a "haunting" or even "regret or sorrow" sort of thing, per se, but it is there. What matters the most is that he denies himself the thoughts of her because he can't admit to making a (ginormous) mistake and also because even if he wanted forgiveness, there's no one left to give it. So he just represses it further.

So that guy could become what he wanted to become above all else, one had to give up what they treasured most -- could be a thing, a person, or an action. So her killer had to trick her and then carve out her heart and eat it in order to prove his loyalty to his overlords and gain what he desired. Problem is -- he ended up detesting that as well (for other reasons). So not only was her death tragic, it was also essentially for nothing.

Her actual personality has been erased through time (fancy for "she's defined more by the impact she's made rather than by her actual self") but she did have an affinity for magic and was also very fond of crows.

TLDR: woman killed, influences the rest of the story in many unforseen ways, gives killer ptsd which he denies having for the rest of his extremely long life until he doesn't.

They do indeed! The piece's background context is related to a scenario in which Viscera is capable of forgetting in trade for Ennui, Judge and Astray remembering.

Though it also generally reps how Whole being Soul and Soul being Whole was always going to leave one or the other feeling empty in some way!

The white lily is mainly for rebirth, the forget-me-nots are fairly self explanatory though ig just saying "for memory" works. Then the purple hyacinths represent regret, sorrow and a desire to be forgiven. Which is in context, about Viscera both feeling he's taken from Astray what was owed and sort of an apology that either of them ever had to lose that memory.

now that it's healed, i wanted to share the finished tattoo. i didn't talk about this before, but my dad passed a couple months ago. it was sudden and completely unexpected, though I hope wherever he ended up he's happier for it.

I got this as a memorial for him. Forget-me-nots are fairly self-explanatory. Cherry blossoms signify rebirth and renewal. Crows are omens of death, and 무궁화 (mugunghwa) symbolize resilience.

though I made the design myself, it wouldn't have turned out nearly as good without the artist bringing it to life. she did an amazing job on the details, and I'm really happy with it.

Floriography ramble under the cut-

The flower in their hands is a pink camellia, and I read that they represent the feeling of longing/missing someone in addition to love. In Japan they're also associated with fallen warriors, and I thought that really fit the characters' backstory.
