“omg, terrifier is a great movie to watch at our halloween get-together!” it’s not. you were terrified of autopsy of jane doe. you were terrified of malignant. terrifier is way gorier than both and also way bleaker than both.
#also one of our friends is terrified of horror movies??? there’s a reason i was recommending coraline and corpse bride#it’s okay to love horror!! but also be cognizant of other ppl’s preferences and boundaries#like i think from beyond is a great horror movie… but i’m not showing that to a 14 year old#i love hereditary but i’m not showing that to my friend that was scared reading coraline#and i don’t judge ppl that get scared from that sort of thing#it lets me watch a more chill horror-adjacent film. sometimes hardcore horror is fun and other times it’s not#idk i jst think my friend’s sibling sometimes hears that i love horror and leans too far into it#i like horror but i’m not like…. a Horror Fan ™️….. i jst like watching fucked up movies about fucked up things with fucked up ppl#because of the narrative choices and concepts they use#i also think there’s a difference of taste to be had between the movies we like because i… HATE terrifier#it’s so empty and devoid of soul (intentionally—i think that’s part of the vision and i appreciate it)#and it doesn’t make me feel like i’ve left happy…#i’m rambling. but essentially: be aware of your friends’ limits and don’t try to enforce your own upon them#esp not at a friendly get together………#in the end that friend watched hereditary and said she couldn’t sleep for a while and i was horrified her friends made her watch it#i had so many other horror movies i could’ve shown her first that wouldn’t be as jarring#the others for one!!! the conjuring for another!!! like the others isn’t frightening so much as it is a mystery#and the conjuring has a very optimistic ending!! like!!!!!#please please please talk to me before other friends convince you to watch a horror movie 😭 i’ll give you a realistic understanding of how#that movie will fuck you up 😭#memorie.txt

While I take some days from writing (ElderCacaoWeek left me dry) I wanted to start rambling about other stuff related to my favorite ships. Specially, their fankids. This might be a long, long post. So please bear with me and enjoy this info dump. Imma separate them in form of AU's. Like:
Guardian Of Freedom AU (ElderCacao):
Dawn Dew Cookie: The adoptive daughter of Dark Cacao and Elder Faerie. They found her abbandoned in the woods of Beast-Yeast, alone and shrivering. Obviously a faerie, they both tried to look for her parents to no avail. In the end, they adopted her. Her wings are those of a dragon-fly, her dough is light lavender with traces of blue, she has long hair, soft green eyes, made into two low ponytails, and wears a light green dress. She does have a mouth (In human form means she's mute), so she uses her magic to write her thoughts in the air. She's very calmed, and quite cold with strangers. She practices her magic with Elder Faerie and trains to be the a future counselor of both kingdoms. She thinks very little of herself from the trauma of being abbandoned. She's still curious about her original family, but is glad with the one she has now.
Choco Moth Cookie: Children made with 50/50 dark cacao beans and faerie flowers. Has a moth ruffle and antennaes, and uses his wings as a cape (mimicking his parents), short dark hair with silver stripes on it, red eyes, dark dough, his wings have the patterns of leaves. No one knows from where or how this kid got his energy. It's a bundle of troubles whenever he goes, touched everything and asks everyone. There's no day where this kid isn't smiling. Even after growing up to be a mighty warrior, he still carries that optimistic innocence from his early years. He's very open to strangers, despite all of his family's dissaproval of his actions. Yet he welcomes most of them, besides, he has the strength to kick their asses if they misbehaves.
Hate Has Expiration Date AU (BurningCheese & MysticCacao) (@burningcheese-merchant)
Molten Sphinx Cookie: The daughter of Burning Spice Cookie and Golden Cheese Cookie, with a 100% of cheese boiled at extreme temperatures. Her dough is toasted yellow, short wild hair of a light yellow (her mane), orange eyes with sharp pupils, wears a short blouse and a short skirt, all with "eigyptian" gliphs. She has no antennaes, but a tail. She's the most S.P.O.I.L.E.D brat you'll ever meet. Everyone is below her (except her parents) and everyone must meet her expectations or else she throws a big tantrum (which means transforming into a big sphinx that throw boiling cheese as fire from her breath). At least, when she's an adult, her fumes step down a little and is more conscious of the destruction she's capable of. She's always being humbled down by her parents and her fiancé... Which is the next fankid.
Cacao Powder Cookie: The son of Dark Cacao Cookie and Mystic Flour Cookie, came to be from cacao beans ground into powder. He has a dark brown dough, with a darker shade for his middle lenght hair, white eyes, he wears a light dark armor with a coat covering his head. He is very quiet, composed and thinks rationally. Prefers to hide his emotions from others even if they mistake him for someone cold. He can turn himself into flour and surprise others, being stealth his main ability. He also has a "beast form", one only he and his mother know. He's a very loved prince too, but dislikes brats. He had a rivalry with Molten Sphinx before they decided to marry in the future (Guess who proposed first)
BitterSpice AU:
Spicy Bonbon Cookie: Made with a 70% of cacao bean and a 30% of spices. She has a dark dough, hides her small red antennaes on her long and wild hair, has red fiery eyes and she's always smiling. She wears a short red kimono with flames and shorts below it, and uses a katana as a staff to conjure dark flames. She's not a happy kid, despite her father showering her with love and attention. She's trying very hard to be a queen someday. And it includes don't letting her emotions show. Most of the time she poses as a frail princess only to get to know her enemy's weaknesses. The wild spices obeys her commands as well.
Korintje Cinnamon Cookie: Made entirely of this spice. Her dough is a very dark red covered in war tattoos, with long silky hair and small antennaes coming out of her, she wraps her chest with bandages and uses a long skirt. She is a wild one, some times even behaving like a wild animal due to how she was raised. Deep inside she's a cutie pie, but she has layers of hard dough that works a shield from both physical and mental attacks. She's dumb, very much so, but her insticts are sharp. She can also hunt pretty well on her own, mostly thanks to the fire powers she got from her papa. She can light up her fists on fire and actually run in the air lighting up her feets on fire.

Haleigha with her Elf Owl, Owlthena. Under the break is her 🪄Wizarding World Alphabet🪄 and an empty one if anyone else would like to fill one out for themselves or their MC. Please tag me if you do, because I want to see everyone's babies.
divider by @cafekitsune
🐈Animagus: Tortoiseshell cats belong to witches and wizards who are wise beyond their years. They tend to be quiet, but it’s because they are observing and analyzing their surroundings. They are caring and understanding and need plenty of alone time to be able to organize their world. They love adventures, new experiences, expanding their minds, and their people even though they cherish their alone time. They are individualistic, independent, and go after what’s best for themselves and their loved ones. Even if things don’t turn out how they want, they still tend to be very optimistic.
😱Boggart: Ranrok
🍎Class: Her favorite classes are Herbology and Care of Magical Creatures, does the best in Potions, and even though she likes history as a general rule she can’t stand History of Magic class or Professor Binns. Her favorite teacher (after Fig’s passing) is Professor Garlick and she will search her out if she’s had a bad day for a hug or some plant therapy. Her favorite damage spell is Bombarda, but her over all favorite spell is the Patronus charm especially since her patronus reminds her of Sebastian. She will often cast it just to be surrounded by the warm magic and memory of Sebastian (while he’s gone from her life). Even after he returns, she’ll conjure it to seek him out just to prove to herself he’s safe.
💀Dark Magic: Not as against it as most others, sees the use for some and thinks knowing all magic to protect oneself is important. But, ultimately, doesn’t have much interest in learning any dark magic and feels more and more uncomfortable with her friends doing it.
🌀Expecto Patronum/Patronus: Tortoiseshell cat if she learns the charm before falling in love with Sebastian, but it’ll change to a dragon. If she falls in love with him first, it’ll be a dragon from the start.
🧹Flying: Loves flying, but doesn’t enjoy quidditch. As a matter of fact, isn’t really coordinated enough to fly and play a game. Doesn’t have a preferred broom, but will choose to ride her thestral, Equinox, when he comes to live with her, over anything else whenever possible.
🏏Game team: Whichever team her friends tell her to root for because she couldn’t care less who wins what.
🏠House: Hufflepuff. But she has a very soft spot for Slytherins.
🔵Imperio: Not a fan. Her least favorite of the Unforgivables. She hates the idea of taking someone autonomy away. It feels like assault to her.
💼Job: Wants to becomes a professor at Hogwarts and do something with magical creatures.
💋Kiss: Her first kiss was five years old with the boy next door. He chased her around their houses and when she finally let him catch her, she kissed him. Her first real kiss was Sebastian.
🧠Legilimancy: Learns to overcome Imperio, but nothing more than that.
🐉Magical beasts: Her favorite beasts are nifflers and thestrals and she keeps many in her vivariums. As she gets older and continues studying beasts, she collects so many she ends up having separate habitats for each type of beast that she keeps. She has a three legged albino niffler she rescued from poachers named Jack and a thestral named Equinox she gave to Sebastian for a period of time.
📝N. E. W. T./OWL: Takes every single test, even the ones not necessary for her future career and passes them all with at least “Acceptable”. The classes she regularly took she got at least “Exceeds Expectations” in. And she got “Outstanding” in Creatures, Potions, Herbology, and Charms.
🦉Owl: A grayish black Elf Owl named Owlthena
🌱Plant: She lives Niffler’s Fancy because it makes her nifflers go crazy and get quite distracted by the beauty of a fanged geranium.
🏉Quidditch: Tried playing, did not like it. Enjoys watching her friends play. Gets incredibly frustrated if she catches Sebastian playing. Can take or leave professional games.
💭Remember: Her favorite memory is getting her Hogwarts letter after not believing she ever would. Then the look on Sebastian’s face when he fell off the dueling table.
🩸Status:blood: Half-blood, her mother grew up a witch, her father is a muggle. Having not grown up around wizarding families she doesn’t even understand the blood status issue.
🍬Treats/Honeyduke’s: Chocolate frogs are her favorite and she will shamelessly eat several at once. She keeps a book of all the cards and has them organized alphabetically by Hogwarts House, then just alphabetically if they didn’t attend Hogwarts. She also loves trying Bertie Bots Every Flavor Beans, especially with Anne once she becomes well.
❌Ugly bad habits: She can’t say no, even when she’s exhausted she literally can’t move.
🙊Veritaserum: She thinks the potion should be regulated so it can be used as a proper tool in court. She doesn’t have any issues using it or having it used on her. If someone is going to lie, they should be willing to pay whatever price is necessary, and she is willing to pay that price. It took her a few tries to brew a perfect batch, but ever since she makes sure to keep some on hand. Just in case.
🪄Wand: Wood: English Oak- This is a loyal wood and demands a partner of strength, courage, fidelity, powerful intuition, and an affinity for the natural world (the creatures and plants in it). Some believe Merlin’s wand was made of English Oak, but it isn’t certain. Core: Dragon Heartstring- They produce the most powerful magic and learn and bond the quickest. They can be somewhat tempramental. Flexibility: Solid Length: 10 1/4” Appearance: Soft spiral, black Handle: switches between Imperial (grey and silver), Botanical (silver leaf), and Celestial (light grey)
➕Xtra: When she smells Amortentia it smells like pine trees, fresh oranges, the lake (fresh water in general), and singed wood (the smell when confringo is cast). Her own scent is similar to fresh baked apple pie, new books, and fire (not something burning, but fire itself). The scar across her eye is from a dog attack as a small child. She doesn't remember it, but she almost lost her eye.
🤢Yuck: Once she feels she’s proved her bravery to Sebastian or anyone else she battles with, if they’re out and get attacked by dugbogs she will let the other person handle them. Everything about those beasts makes her gag.
😜Zonkos: She can be quite playful, so to get Garreth back for almost getting her in trouble her first week at Hogwarts, she bought trick ink and switched it with his. Instead of it being invisible immediately, it turned invisible a day after use. So only after he’d done his work and took his notes and turned everything in did he realize it was all blank. (She made sure to talk to the professors about it all before hand so his grades wouldn’t suffer. She couldn’t stand the guilt of permanently hurting someone’s record.) Later that year, she switched his soap for trick soap that left stains that wouldn’t come out for a week. He threatened revenge but she gave him sad eyes and he gave her a big hug instead. divider by @cafekitsune

Question,
On your oc sheet for bulzar, you mentioned about him disliking humans with some exceptions. Has he ever befriended or at the very least was mural with a human?
Bulzar is a gruff and very territorial fellow, so even if you get on his good side, don’t expect him to act all warm n’ fuzzy around you (Miko being the obvious exception). That said, it is still possible to befriend him, especially if you make a good first impression and prove you’re not a threat to his precious son.
Bulzar is on pretty good terms with these guys, although introductions were seriously rocky:
This is the trio of bounty hunting bois I mentioned. From left to right, we have Grimaldus (aka Grim for short) the foul tempered conjurer, Balroc the big n' rowdy warrior, and Owin the optimistic young mage and healer. The story where they first meet the giants is still in the works, but @amanofhamm wrote the blurb below explaining how the gang came to be:
It all begins with Owin. He's a young but highly intelligent student of magic who cares for people and wants to use his magic to help others. Other mages were jealous of him, but his elders loved his mind and his talents. However, it became clear that the masters were dabbling in the dark arts. Owin tried to plead with them to not corrupt their souls, and when they abandoned their morality for power, and many other mages followed suit, Owin denounced the guild and went his own way.
The first he came across was Grim, an elder mage who was originally from a rival guild, and regarded Owin's guild as a bunch of pansies. The two first met when Owin decided to travel the world to find a new way to help people. Grim, meanwhile, was on his way to a bounty, using his magic for a job usually suited for tougher warriors. But Grim's particular brand of magic was quite deadly. At first, Grim didn't like Owin. He thought of him as a little wimp who would just slow him down...til a ghoul bit and poisoned him, and Owin ended up saving the old mans life. So after that, it was like, "fine, you can tag along, kid..."
But when the two were on their way to Grim's bounty, they came across Balroc, who was also after the same bounty as Grim. Balroc was already a bounty hunter and was looking for the biggest, toughest bounties to take down. He doesn't talk a lot about where he came from, but he's clearly a very skilled warrior, but also deeply boastful, headstrong, and while not a meathead, he isn't the sharpest tool in the shed either.
He'd also just gotten his ass kicked by the monster he was after. Grim told him to beat it since the monster was his prize, and Balroc basically told him to go fuck himself. And the two, naturally, did not hit it off especially well. Grim went after the bounty himself, with Owin's assistance, and sure as the sky is blue, Grim got his ass kicked, and once again required Owin's healing.
So, Owin came up with the idea of the three of them working together, Grim using his magic for ranged attacks, Balroc for close attacks, and Owin supporting them both with his magic to provide defenses. And sure enough, they took down the monster and each collected and split the rather large bounty. And from that point on, however begrudgingly, they became partners who constantly bicker but grew to trust and care for one another, tho Grim will never admit it.
Owin's around 19 years old. He's the youngest of the bunch but also the most mature, well disciplined and empathetic. He's very kindhearted and always willing to help others out, even if there's no payment in it for him.
Balroc is anywhere from his early to mid twenties and acts kinda like a rowdy big brother to Owin. Though, he's not a mentor by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, a lot of the time, Owin's the one teaching him a thing or two. Though, he's the biggest and strongest of the bunch, with excellent combat stills, resilience, stamina, and an appetite to spare. He's not quite as trusting as Owin, but he's got a good heart and isn't afraid to show it from time to time. Though, he has a deep hatred of monsters.
Grim is in his sixties, and is like the grumpy old uncle to the two bois. He's a grouch through and through. Hates most people and is seemingly only ever happy when he's tormenting Balroc. He and Balroc bicker and argue like an old married couple all the time. And while not a strong fighter, he has more spells than he knows what to do with. He doesn't give a shit most times, so long as there's a pay day. Grim has a heart, but he's like if Grumpy Cat were a dude. "Fun is overrated."

♦ Peach Blossoms ♦
► tags/warnings: Soulmate!AU, Shiloh x MC
► summary: Shiloh doesn't have a soulmate, but JB does.
► words: 889
► a/n: Hi! I know it has been ages since I've last posted, but the last few months have been very chaotic and I haven't really been able to finish anything. I didn't want to abandon this blog. I still love writing and fulfilling requests, even if I wasn't able to make time for it. Now I'm trying to get back to it, and I decided to start by finishing an incredibly self-indulgent fic I've had on the back burner for months!
► Masterlist
Shiloh always had a feeling he’d never have a mark.
It’s difficult to explain how and why, but it’s something that has been a part of him for as long as he can remember.
He never formed attachments as other people did. He’d make friends out of convenience, he’d obey the orders of the strongest and swiftly make his exit once they didn’t serve his purposes anymore. It was quick and painless, no affection involved. He didn’t really miss any of the people he left behind (aside from a lingering fondness for a childhood friend he hadn’t seen in too long) and didn’t think of them at all after they were gone.
And there was that terrible, sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach that whispered that there was no one waiting for him, no one mandated by the universe to love him.
It was comforting, even if it wasn’t nice.
No soulmate meant that he was free to do as he pleased, one less person to keep around long after they passed their usefulness, no one he’d have to explain himself to and no one to force him to change. it’s not like Shiloh doesn’t know the way that he does things is unusual, but it’s not like people don’t know they’re being used. They just like being flattered.
So the morning after his sixteenth birthday, when no new mark showed up on his wrist, he wasn’t upset or surprised.
It was just a confirmation of something he already knew.
He was different, and he was free to do as he wished.
So he pulled on his jacket, making sure that his wrists were properly hidden underneath his sleeves. At the very least, it would buy him enough time until he could figure out an excuse.
The weeks following weren’t too difficult.
People knew him well enough to know that he’d go along with whatever excuse they conjured up as to why he was so keen on hiding his wrist— his mark was scarred up because his soulmate was dead (he made sure to look very sad whenever that was brought up), his mark matched a celebrity (he effortlessly pretended to be flustered by it) or it was someone that he knew, but that didn’t share his match.
Only a few people bought the excuse that Shiloh wanted his soulmate to be the first person who’d see his mark. That made him seem like a romantic, and more people seeing him in a good light was a fine enough trade for all the jokes made about him being a slut.
There was always the pity too, of the possibility that bubbly, optimistic Shiloh was unlucky enough to be one of the unmarked.
The sad, few people that the universe didn’t care enough to think about.
Pity was generally an easy emotion to exploit, but it didn’t mean that deep down it didn’t annoy him to no end that people saw it this way, even if it was the truth.
Well, the truth never really mattered to him anyway.
JB was different.
There was something about how she carried herself, in her relentless confidence, her impulsiveness and her quick-witted responses to everything the jerks in their after-school group threw at her.
Her bubbliness, her pleased smile whenever he flirted back, the way her skin felt so soft and warm when he found an excuse to touch her. How easy JB was to understand and how quickly he was able to become someone she wanted to keep around, just as long as he kept showering her with compliments and acquiescing to her demands.
Shiloh was perceptive. Of course, he knew about the pink flowers on her wrist. His eyes zeroed in on it when she reached out to grab something or would roll up her sleeves in order to not dirty her uniform.
Peach blossoms. She had explained to him.
It means luck in love, beauty. All the things JB was sure she had.
There was absolutely no doubt in her mind that her soulmate would be absolutely perfect, that they would be the ultimate power couple and rule the world together if they so wished.
But before she found them, she wanted to see other people. JB wanted to have as much fun as possible before settling into the relationship she was meant to be in. I don’t want to live the rest of my life regretting not living to the fullest while I could, she told him, fingers brushing against her soulmark carefully, eyes filled with fondness for someone she didn’t yet know.
And Shiloh believed her. There was no way he couldn’t when she was so certain, so self-assured.
But he wanted her.
He felt drawn to her like he had never felt drawn to anyone else, nearing the point of obsession.
It didn’t really matter if she belonged to someone else.
He would make sure it wouldn’t be a problem.
If he didn’t have a soulmate, there was nothing that stopped him from being with whomever he pleased. The universe didn’t care enough to give him a connection, so he’d fabricate one of his own.
All for her. For them.
Monday morning, when he got to school, he had delicate peach blossoms perfectly drawn into the skin of his wrist, hidden away by his long sleeves.

Jackpot Space Pirate Crew - Lunaliel Alliqui
#charactersheet Lunaliel Alliqui
☠ Lunaliel refers to “from the moon” : Alliqui refers to the latin word “aliquis/aliqui” which describes a person of importance. A someone, a somebody! A real flex! Alliqui is four years older than his little sister Nemo, for which he cares deeply. He shows his care like most big brothers do. He bullies her in a friendly way, ruffles her hair, throws her across the room or calls her a “mouse” to provoke her. He also is the only person who is allowed to do that! If someone touches Nemo, they’re dead!
🔥 He may be a very good big brother, but he also is a complete jerk, a womaniser, a wanna-be proletarian. According to some, he certainly possesses no more than one brain cell. Despite this, Alliqui was the one who programmed the “personality-disorder” of B.E.N. Afterall, when his little sister were to be angry during his absence, then she had no time to cry ;) One may make out of it whatever they wish to do. But despite having no manners, being flirty, sleeping with an abundance of women, delusionally thinking he is also too cool for this world… Alliqui is a good guy. He will always have his family's back, he is loyal to the core, stupid but determined, silly but someone to depend on. His friends can always fully trust and rely on him. His enemies might not be too lucky to get to know his better qualities.
👾 Alliqui is a fan of rock and metal music, he does love soft underpants and he is completely irresponsible. But he also is the most fun person to be around! Somehow, hanging out with Alliqui always ends up in disastrous adventures.
💀 Alliqui had a huge crush on Lena. The medic of the Crew was not interested at all, since Alli was a jerk! Tough luck! This silly guy also frequently challenged his adoptive father and Capt’n, delusionally thinking he’d stand a chance. He never learned his lesson. However, he was very famous on “Spacegram”. Not for his character, but girls did like his packs.
Age: 22
Height: 287CM
D.o.B.: 7th. May // Taurus
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Straight
Known as: First mate of the Jackpot Space Pirate Crew, best brother but worst example when it comes to showing others some respect, rude jerkbag but funny fella! Loves to brawl, brag, boast and loves dem boobs.
Voice-Claim: // Dawn
youtube
Weapon: Wields a Greatsword one handed, uses his other hand for punching
Fighting-Style: Brawler/Swordsman
Music: Metal-Music, Grindcore, Deathcore and as a guilty pleasure: some Lady Gaga!
Favourite Insult: "TF are you? Moonlubber-McGee?"
Traits
Optimist or pessimist? Way too optimistic
Introvert or extrovert? Extrovert ala Supreme! *gotta take pics of those abs for the girls on moonstagram*
Daredevil or cautious? Daredevil & professional Troublemaker
Logical or emotional? Emotional Brawler, suffers also from the explosive-temper-syndrome. Is easily distracted by bewbs. Has one brain-cell.
Disorderly and messy or methodical and neat? Ordered Mess?! Order inside the chaos. Somehow the "system" works. It's a mystery.
Prefers working or relaxing? Relaxing, Training
Confident or unsure of himself/herself? Delusionally confident
Animal lover? Yepp! Has a soft spot for tiny kittens and tiny cute animals, sleeps with a teddybear.
The Brawler-Class Lunarian: These types of Lunarians are most common on the moon. King-Classes are known to be basically extinct. At the time of the Jackpots there were only 13 Lunarians left in total. That was their entire population! Two of those Lunarians were of the King-Class, everyone else was a B-Class and Nemo was the only C-Class who had been born in ages. B-Classes lost their wings. They can no longer fly and they are not as huge as the A-Class. They often stand somewhere between 2.5 - 4 metres. They can conjure their own fire and use it in combat; they're also known to have slightly hotter flames than the A-Class.
To his persona: He is either the best brother you could ever ask for, or he is the biggest jerk in the entire solar system. There is no in between! If you dare to hurt his family or friends (or even worse, you dare to touch or hurt his kid sister) he will snap as massively as one could possibly snap. Literally! Once some dude flirted with Nemo and Alliqui punched that guy halfway around the entire moon, before putting his head into the next toilet bowl and making him choke on shit! Afterall... Alliqui is the only one who is allowed to bully his sister! Or annoy her... JUST DON'T TOUCH HER!
Alliqui is also a huge womaniser who has a big crush on the crew's nurse, Lena. (She isn't interested because he is behaving like an idiot, asking her if he could touch her boobies! IDIOT!) He enjoys pranks and loves to prank others. He is brawling, bragging and enjoys to challenge his Capt'n to fist fights. If you have seen the series "Jackass" you can imagine what Alliqui did all day long together with the others. Stunts, silly things, idiotic things and nothing but nonsense for the sole purpouse of shits and giggles.
"When Nemo was born, our beloved mother died and our father turned into a monster. He had been ill for a long time, taken over by something we only call "the madness". A rare disease which sorely seems to be contagious for the King (A) - Class Lunarians. As the illness went on and our mother died, the madness took him over fully and turned this man into a demon. He hated Nemo. That's why he dubbed her "No one". In his twisted mind it was her fault that mother died giving birth to her, but I saw things differently. I loved my little sister from the very start and I thought that I've gotta protect her no matter what.
Father tried to kill my little sister on many occasions and I always stood between him and her. I took the punches. I took the rage. I took all the pain so I could make sure that Nemo wouldn't be harmed. I was awake every single night, every single day. I didn't sleep and made sure that my eyes were always on her. But when Nemo was a few months old, still being an infant, she suddenly began to speak her first words. I will always remember what she said when she was pointing at a book about quantum physics, which also was the first word she has ever said. Shortly after she began to read, then calculate, and then she walked and broke her first physical law. She began to screw around, braze metal scraps, build things and I began to realise what extreme intelligence she was gifted with. THIS WAS INSANE! There was no way anyone could ever comprehend this and despite me being aware of the fact that the extremely rare C-Class mutation is gifted with incredible wit, this was way beyond anything anyone could've imagined.
I knew she was special! I just knew it and when I closed my eyes, I saw her guiding us to a better future!
When I was seven, father had his last strike on her. That fateful night I fell asleep, despite trying to keep awake for years and when I woke up, I heard her cries and screams, begging father for mercy. I can't remember precisely what happened. I snapped and all I saw was black. There is this huge gap in my memory, but eventually this outburst turned into murder. I killed our father... I killed this man... and I don't know if I can ever forget what I've done. To protect Nemo, I told her that father abandoned us and grabbed himself a pack of smokes from the asteroid-belt. I told her that from now on, it'll be only her and I...
Shortly after we left home and wandered the streets of Fairy Vearth, we met my idol sitting in a bar, punching people who dared to tell him that he wasn't cool. Man! That was Capt'n Zekka!! The coolest man in all of the universe and the biggest badass I've ever heard of! I was erratic, going bonkers! My Idol! He just sat there and only looking at him was like looking at a real life superhero...
And when he suddenly talked to us? Dude! That was like a dream come true!
He asked where our parents were and I didn't know how to answer that question really. So, I lied. Telling him that they both went on a venture to the Blue World. Zekka knew that this wasn't true. He recognised me, but he didn't tell me. Our father, Sev, used to be a friend of Zekka and as I later found out, Sev had been dealing with mental decay for a long time.
When I finally told Zekka what really happened, he hugged me. It was the first time anyone, ever, besides my little sister... gave me a goddamn hug.
That this day would be a big turn-around for us was something I couldn't have dreamed of. Zekka adopted us! We now had the coolest, strongest and most badass of all Fathers in the entire universe and if that isn't the best thing ever, I don't know what is!!!
Zekka himself also quickly realised how smart Nemo was and when he saw what that little Mouse could do, his vision of the future changed quickly. She is it! She is the one who will be guiding us to the future! Who will advance our civilisation! And today? Today - The Jackpot Space Pirate Crew is the strongest and most successful Crew on the Moon. This is not because of our Capt'n. It's because of her. Because of my little sister and I couldn't be any prouder! She built our weapons, our security systems, our ship, our camp, our electrical chargers and everything we needed to become truly successful on the harsh, dire and dusty surface of the moon."
"We can do whatever we want! So let's stop this world and get off!" - Lunaliel Alliqui, First Mate

Chapter 14
He opens it and flips through the Pages.
W: Here, The purgation of Namshub.
B: Hey, that's my favourite Purgation.
W: It’s a Ritual of Throwing, of casting out. But it’s complicated and Dangerous and I’m not yet back to my full strength.
He looks at Elora.
E: I couldn’t even say the seed spell. No. Ok. What do you want me to do ?
W: Call it an introduction to alchemy. We’re gonna make a salve.
He begins collecting everything.
W: Very potent. A precise mixture of herbs, tonics, and tinctures. Applied at the Proper time while the purgation is read aloud and his fluids drained.
E: What kind of Fluids are we draining ?
W: Blood, Puss, discharge from …
E: On second thought, surprise me.
W: Go to the Armory, fetch me a dagger with an Ivory handle and selenium blade.
We prepare everything. I take a look into the Book. Familiar Runes cross my eyes. I close my eyes and take a breath. Great the Witch in the Woods conjures Evil Magic.
W: The crone knows we’re here. She’ll send her Gales to ensure the Ritual is Completed. We’ll need to keep watch.
Ja: I can do that.
I nod.
W: We can’t allow Graydon’s infection to pass to any of us. If it does, we won’t get out of here Alive.
My eyes widen and I take a side glance at Kit.
J: How contagious are we Talking ? Like if he coughs on us ? Or if we touch him and then …
W: The vismiscus goo. Don’t sniff it, don’t wipe it, don’t eat it.
I nod.
E: Why would we eat it ?
Boorman turns to go.
W: Wait. There’s one thing that is even more Important than that. No matter what, stay out of the High Tower. It’s maybe, probably a portal to the netherworld.
B: Ok don’t touch the evil goo stay out of the High Tower.
J: We’ll keep that in mind.
B: I just gotta say I’m feelin’ very energised and Optimistic about this exorcism.
J: Can you ever, maybe even once, just keep your Mouth shut ?
B: Nope.
He walks off. I nod and walk off. I hear footsteps behind me.
J: I don’t want to talk.
K: I don’t care, we will.
J: No why would I ?
K: I’m sorry. I don’t hate you. I was just Angry.
J: Yeah, you always say that.
I stop walking.
J: But yet in the next 24 hours we will fight again and you will Ignore me. Ever since Twinkle Toes appeared everything is different. … I can’t do this anymore.
I look at her. She has tears in her Eyes.
K: Don’t say that.
I shake my head.
J: Why ? I’m telling you the Truth, or should I keep it a secret ? One that inevitably comes out and then We fight again. My Heart can’t take this anymore, Kit. I’m sorry but …
K: No please …
I shake my head and walk away. With Tears streaming down my Face I wander through the Halls. The Tears don’t stop falling. We’ve been Together for the last 6 years. Is this really how this ends ? Sobbing, I sit down against a wall. I lay my Head on my Legs. In 6 years It has never been like that. Never. Is this Journey showing that this relationship shouldn’t be ? I throw my Axe against the Wall. I don’t want to believe that. I can’t live without her. I don’t know how long I’ve sat here when I hear a Scream. Kit. She’s screaming for me. I jump up Grab my Axe and run from where I heard the Voice. I end up in front of a closed door. She’s Crying. I try to open the Door. It doesn’t budge.
J: KIT !?
K: Jane ! HELP !
I start smashing the Door with my Axe. When suddenly it is Quiet. Too Quiet
J: No. No. NO ! NO!
When the door is finally Open, she lays there Bloody. With wide open, dead eyes. She’s holding something. When I see what I scream. It’s the Baby. Quiet like the Night. Too small. Too fragile. I fall to my Knees. Screaming Sobbing. I press Kit against my Chest and rock her.
J: Please no. My Love. I need you.
Everything hurts. My body feels like it’s on fire and my Heart feels like it’s been Ripped out of my chest. I’m nothing without her. An empty shell with no Purpose in Live. She’s my everything. My Sun. The reason I wake up every day. She died alone in pain just because I left. It's all my fault. She died Thinking I don’t want us anymore. That I don’t love her. My voice is completely gone, the only thing you can hear are quiet attempted screams.
J: I’m so sorry that I wasn’t there for you. I love you so much.
I close her eyes and give her a last kiss. I sit there and Rock our Bodies. No tears are falling anymore, not one is left. Everything is a blur. I don’t know how to Live without her. I don’t want to. What is the Point of living without her ? I have no one left. I’m alone. Nothing keeps me in this World. I push the hair out of her Face and give her a last kiss. Catatonic I walk through the Halls of the Castle. I look out of one of the big windows. It’s Raining. I sit down on the Windowsill. My Legs dangling in the air. All of me gets wet. I play with my Ring and Close my eyes. I put my Feet against the wall about to push me off when a pair of arms wrap around me and pull me back inside. I didn’t even notice that it stopped Raining.
J: NO LET ME GO !
I don’t know where the tears are coming from, but they flow.
J: Let me go.
B: What are you doing ?!
He hugs me. I sob in his chest. I can’t speak. Indistinguishable words leave my Mouth. He picks me up.
B: I got you little one. ‘M not letting you go.
I shake my head.
J: Kit …
B: She’s ok.
J: No … she …
Sobs wreck my Body. He Carries me down a set of Stairs.
B: I found her in one of the Towers, she was …
K: Jane !
As I hear her Voice, I snap my Head up. I push against Boorman’s chest and fall to the Floor. I try to scramble up but trip and land back on the floor. She hugs me. I feel her body. She's warm and Alive. Crying, I hold her face.
J: My Love ? You’re Alive ?
She nods. Tears in her eyes.
K: Whatever you saw it was this place. It wasn't true.
I hug her Tighter. And cry in her neck
J: I’m sorry. I love you so much. I can’t lose you ever.
She nods. I look at her.
K: I love you too.
She gives me a kiss. We get up. I wipe my Tears away. I look at Graydon.
J: You cool ?
He nods.
G: Finally.
J: Good.
Moon comes to me and lays his head on my Shoulder. I lay my Hands on his neck.
J: Oh, my Good boy. Still here ?
We pack our stuff and leave that cursed palace. I look at Moon.
J: Go Home, Be safe.
Moon looks at me. I lay my Head against his.
J: Just go Home. I’ll be back.
He Trots of. A tear in my eye.
J: He’s safer at Home.
K: I know.
I hold Kit’s hand in a Tight Grip.
B: You know I’m gonna miss this Place.
J: I will not.
K: What is the Blood of the Six ?
W: In the beginning in the Grove six Fays betrayed their Mothers to serve the Dark power. That Line continued through the ages strong magic but Corrupt. The Blood of the Six.
K: So Bavmorda, she was the Blood of the Six. Which means so am I and my Baby and Aryk.
W: Mmm. We have to reach the Immemorial City before she corrupts him.
K: Yeah that’s on the far side of the World. Is that even Possible ?
W: She saved Graydon. Anything's Possible. We’re finally making Progress. You may make a sorceress yet.

Artwork by the amazing @stardragons, feat. Selkouni and the All Seeing Eye
Selkouni, Lunarian & Bug - The wanderer trio. The main leads of the story as it revolves around their journey to uncover disturbances which chain effects seem to grow more violent and dangerous enough to put entire worlds at risk. There is no leader in the trio, each one possesses a different ability, background and knowledge that benefits the whole group, and combining their skills they're able to achieve more than any could individually.
Selkouni is the lead protagonist, however, the story begins and ends focusing on their journey from before they meet the other two.
Selkouni is the youngest and least experienced, an extremely curious being fascinated by the universe. They are also The Messenger - as different cultures might call them in variations of the title referencing a tale of a creature born of the heart of the planet, possessing a soul that's unbound to the gravity of their body - an ability to allow the being to serve the purpose of observing that, which the universe keeps hidden in the matters of life and granted the choice to reveal and forward those secret messages to those who need them.
In more practical terms, when Selkouni is asleep, they awaken in other's dreams, lucid and in control of their consciousness, they are free to roam the space conjured by a complete random stranger's mind even if they might be galaxies away. Selkounis senses are cloudy, but present, in that state. Instinctively, they always try to avoid influencing or interacting with the original dreamer and their plot. If and when they do - it takes a good amount of energy recourse, and will leave them more tired and less clear-headed once they awake. This entire experience leaves them in a chronic state of some dissociation, while they clearly can distinct between the awake and dream, it blurs the outline of their body and clouds their memories. Being a creature that experiences both the awake and dream worlds so vividly in their senses, communicating that just in language becomes limiting and challenging - after all, how would you describe the scent or taste of a fruit that the other person has never even heard of, for example? Their communication with their fellow companions, Ian and Bug, is easier and much more comfortable for them as the trio has ways to speak that exceed spoken language.
Selkouni is an extremely curious being with great desire for learning, exploring and discovering. They're fascinated by the design of the worlds, the geology, the astronomy, the flora and fauna and the repeating galaxies of patterns that structure them. They really are like a starry eyed kitten, eager yet cautious, friendly but distant, mostly calm but can be easily excited when something sparks their interest. At the beginning of their life, they've been a rather daring, reckless feral creature, but following the events that lead to separation from Rana, their caretaker, they've grew to be more vigilant, restless and careful.
Selk is a very kind, honest and compassionate being. Empathetic and respectful to the world around them, living or not. They contemplate for hours in their mind and with their companions. As someone that communicates easier through not exactly common means of language, they might feel a bit awkward and held back when interacting with strangers at verbal speech, but their kindness and gentleness makes up for it for most. They carry themselves as a timid, optimistic passerby that appreciates the view and is impressed by the cultures and people they encounter on their path.
Once chosen by the All Seeing Eye, their responsibility and title begins to catch up and weigh on them. They become more anxious and suspicious. While the addition of having the voice of a legendary ancient relic and two demi-god snakes is pretty neat, it also is a constant reminder of what they have to do and achieve in their lifetime, that, which they have not yet figured out what it is except for that it has to do with putting an end to the cause of the disturbances in the universe that they have been tracking down. And that is more than enough to make anyone's knees tremble and lose their balance under such a pressure.
#Terra Sonalis#Original Character#OC: Selkouni#Hell yeah I decided to say Fuck It and share this over here as well#>:} Welcome to my worldbuilding chaos#I love Selk a whole lot and they're a really really important character of mine.. I'm glad to share about them with others at last

Original Characters: Keiko Yamamoto
Keiko Yamamoto is an adolescent sorceress who lives in the Southern Glens, which is situated on the continent of Aetheria in the world of Sekaia, with her family. She is altruistic, caring, compassionate, kind-hearted, optimistic, and tactful, and she loves apples, apple pie and other apple-related recipes, as well as books, cats, crows (both of which have been an integral part of the Yamamoto family history for centuries), and occasionally, astronomy (her father owned an observatory in the middle of the Green Marshes) and aviation (sometimes she likes to magically create small wooden flying crafts with her hands, and her older brothers Hakaru and Satoru are also aviation enthusiasts like her father). Ever since she was ten, Keiko once used to be mocked by some of her classmates at school for having “rabbit-ears” for hair. She learned cooking and gardening from her mother, who also taught her how to handle various herbs and potions, and she also happened to receive a crimson dress with a hat and grey boots, a magic staff made of apple tree wood, a journal with a crow’s feather of everlasting ink, and a scrying stone for the very special occasion of her fifteenth birthday. Keiko has two older brothers and paternal grandparents (her deceased maternal grandparents where the ones who made the dress and the staff for her birthday, and her uncle was also deceased for mysterious reasons) and her parents Hitoshi and Minami once used to travel far and wide to find the secrets behind the creation of the Golden Orb and other magical artefacts of the Dynasty of Trians and prevent them from falling into the hands of greedy goblins. The sorceress also happens to be a loving friend to the adventurous little elf Robby Hide and his talking pet raccoon Venki. The young sorceress also personally believes that selflessness, which is the basis for all good deeds in the world, triumphs over selfishness, that those with loving-kindness in their hearts can make a positive impact upon the world, and that the delusion, greed and ill-will that comes with selfishness are the roots of all the evils in the world.
Keiko is capable of using her hands or staff to cast or break spells/enchantments, conjure or control the four elements of Water, Earth, Air and Fire, or conjure anything out of thin air. As a friend to the forces of nature, she can communicate with animals, plants, trees, gods and spirits in order to understand their feelings and summon them when needed. Keiko can concoct her own potions and is also capable of using her magic, including the use of herbs, to heal others of their wounds or illnesses. As a shapeshifter, Keiko is capable of turning herself into a cat, a giant crow, or a black mare. She is also foretold by an ancient prophecy to be the one who will use her magic to “Pacify the Dragons of Steel” and “Destroy the Golden Orb” in order to end the brutal war that will be fought for the dominion of not only Aetheria, but also all of Sekaia, at the end of the Fifth Age.

So I was wondering WHAT IF Felix had a son. No, wait, please listen... he would result of a dalliance / whirlwind affair during his time in Orlais before the Darkspawn attack. And so I started Thinking:
FULL NAME: Julien Chapdelaine later Alexius BIRTH DATE: The 9th day of Ferventes ( Justinian ), 9:33 Dragon. AGE: 11 at the time of the Exalted Council in 9:44 GENDER: Male ( he / him / his ) SPECIES: Human ETHINCITY: Tevinter / Orlesian NATIONALITY: Orlesian BIRTHPLACE: Orlais HOMETOWN: Wine estate outside Val Chevin. FAMILY: Raised by Lady Margot Rousseau's sister and her husband as their own. His real parentage kept secret. Siblings: Two younger half sisters cousins. RELIGION: Raised as a devout Andrastian LANGUAGES: Primarily Orlesian and Trade Tongue. Later Tevene. AFFILIATION: The White Spire OCCUPATION: Apprentice CLASS: A very promising and powerful mage SPECIALIZATION: Selected to train as a Knight Enchanter conjuring any number of blades, swords and daggers, though he is not a fighter ( later would develop a strong talent and preference for healing and a desire to be a Spirit Healer instead but ends up training as both ) GENERAL APPEARANCE:
Looks remarkably like his father which often fueled rumours in certain unremarkable corners of Orlesian society that couldn't be substantiated or denied. HEIGHT: 4"11"( and growing ) WEIGHT: 90lbs BUILD: tall, slight, gangly and a little awkward FACECLAIM: Cody Molko
PERSONALITY: Polite and well-mannered though mischievous and and almost recklessly adventurous ( always pushing boundaries ). Still young and innocent and optimistic in his outlook on life but as he grows up he becomes more guarded and calculating. Shows signs of being ambitious and competitive though he has his fathers compassion and empathy. NOTABLE QUIRKS / TRAITS: terrible at math, magic comes as second nature to him, great with animals, likes to climb things, hide, avid reader VIRTUES: intelligent, curious, gentle, gregarious, determined VICES: cunning, unforgiving, hasty, quick to judge, layered GENERAL OUTWARD DEMEANER: cheerful, friendly, inquisitive
HISTORY: His mother, Margot Rousseau was a daughter of an Orlesian merchant of lesser nobility with modest influence and considerable wealth. She was a promising artist and writer and a fiery and independent spirit that her parents though they could tame by betrothing her to a Chevalier from a prestigious noble line.
Felix met her in early 9:32 Dagon through her brother who he studied with. Felix and Margit instantly fell in love and their romance, while a discretely kept secret, was wildly passionate, lasting several months. However, it wasn't long before she fell pregnant. When her family found out they were furious and she was forbidden to see Felix ever again. To protect her from scandal, she was sent on a "pilgrimage " but went to stay with her older sister who lived far out in the country on a sprawling wine estate called Chateau Chapdelaine not far from Val Chevin. In the summer of Dragon 9: 33 she gave birth to a boy who is a splitting image of his father. It was decided that he would be raised by Margot's sister as her own as they had never been able to have children themselves. He was named Julien Chapdelaine.
Felix only ever met his new born son once, briefly and in secret. He held Julien for as long as he could, never having loved anyone as much before, then or after. Margot chose to honor her families wishes and was soon to be married. Felix was devastated at this and more so at the prospect of never being able to see his son again. He left his heirloom pendent with the Alexius Crest with Margot. and they never saw or heard from each other again. Margot did get word of the Darkspawn attack and was told Felix had died and she had to grieve in silence. In 9:40, age 7, shortly after he started showing signs of strong magical talent, he is sent to the White Spire to begin his training. ADDITIONAL INFO: Julien adapts well as can be to the Circle and is an exceptional mage who is one of the very few being prepared for his training as a Knight Enchanter of which he shows immense potential. He is quiet and stays out of trouble and mostly out of the Templars scrutiny He looks very much like his father and shares many of his little unconscious mannerisms and habits. He speaks Trade tongue and many other languages almost fluently but often lapses back into Orlesian which he finds easiest to express himself. When Julien is ald enough he will track down the origin of the insignia and discovers who his real father is and what had happened. With the help of a certain Pavus, he finds that his father had left him everything he needs to restore the Alexius name and eventually take his seat on the Magisterium.

Which conjuring were you disappointed in?n enjoyed hereditary, haven't watched long legs,I stay away from trailers so I can enjoy movies without any expectations, expecting AMC to course will never happen,it's AMC,they have their favourites and they don't care about others
The first one! I absolutely adored the trailer (the one with all the clapping), but the horror in the film itself didn't quite live up to the hype for me. I thought the film would've been more grounded from that trailer and I'm a fan of subtle horror (something which keeps building and building rather than something bombastic).
BUT I do think The Conjuring franchise is important because it has a really beautiful blend of horror and romance - I'd love to see a Caryl spinoff which leans into these two genres because it's a match made in heaven.
I'd highly recommend the following articles on The Conjuring's balancing act between romance and horror, and I've picked out some quotes which definitely ring true for Caryl/McReedus.
“The love between them, whether people want to admit it or not, I think that’s a big reason why people keep coming back,” Wilson [who plays Ed] tells Vulture in a joint interview with Farmiga [who plays Lorraine]. “It’s what makes the franchise so, so unique and sets it apart,” Farmiga adds. “There’s just something so wonderfully soothing about the love-story aspect that balances out the terror and the fear and the horror.”
“I think that Patrick and Vera have a great chemistry onscreen,” says Michael Chavez, director of The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It. “That is definitely mined in this film and the previous films. It comes from a great friendship offscreen, and a great respect for each other as actors.”
"The romance heightens the stakes of the horror, because the characters have made it clear that one cannot live without the other, should something happen to either of them. The best thing about the characters, from the very first film, has never had anything to do with the paranormal — it has always been what they mean to each other."
"The franchise has perfected its ability to unsettle viewers at their core, but it has also instilled a well-earned expectation of relief. Farmiga offers a simple theory. “It’s a salve, love, isn’t it? Love is a salve. It’s as simple as that,” she says. “It has a great power to soothe and comfort; it’s inoculation right after you experience such fear. It’s a completely awesome balance.”
"the secret sauce to the success of this universe lies in the central romance between Ed and Lorraine. Their relationship, their marriage, and the continuing support they have for one another not only ground the story surrounded by the fantastical and the terrifying, but provide much-needed moments of levity and relief that elevate the movies from typical ghost horror fare to something that feels not more complex and genuine."
"Closing the film on a happy ending for all doesn't negate the terror that has been endured to get to this point, and it doesn't mean there won't be more supernatural uncertainties in the future, but there's something remarkably optimistic about what this horror franchise is doing and the note of hope it tries to leave us with by the time the credits roll. In fact, maybe the greatest trick the Conjuring movies ever pulled on us was the love story at their heart, one that keeps audiences coming back again and again."
I believe that HBO is currently adapting The Conjuring for TV, so this blend of horror and romance is still going strong. It's still profitable and popular. AMC should get in on the trend.
P.S. I know the real life Warrens were nothing like their cozy fictional counterparts.

Abandoned in California
Stepping into a strange world that others once inhabited and then left forever can be a very unnerving sensation. Who were the people who once lived here? What were their lives like? Why did they leave, and where did they go? These are the questions that race through your mind while you wander inside these forsaken monuments of rotting wood, broken glass, and peeling paint.
Without a doubt, some of the weirdest places in California are the ones it has abandoned. Whether they be hollow-eyed homes with forgotten tales to tell, ghost towns whose fortunes turned boom to bust, or decommissioned institutions that have outlived their usefulness, these vacant and crumbling places possess an aura that is foreboding and captivating at the same time. Some of them speak of the optimistic dreams of those of those who created them. California is, after all, a land of promise opportunity. Abandoned places are poignant reminders that these promises may not pan out, that even our best laid plans and intentions might crumble to ruin in the end. Other abandoned places are, and may always have been, just plain creepy. They might have been home to people who lived in the shadows of sunny California-the mentally disabled, the terminally ill. Perhaps it’s a by-product of the suffering that transpired within their walls, but wandering the empty hallways of these places can make even the staunchest skeptic believe that tortured spirits from the past may linger one, haunting us until this day.
There is no denying that people will conjure up all manner of fantastic stories about places that have been left to wither in the winds. Do the tales spring forth from overactive imaginations, or is it there really something weird going on behind some of California’s most forlorn façades? This is the question that we ask ourselves each time we cross a darkened threshold to explore another abandoned California ruin.

Meet Taiyou Kiihikari/Kingscholar AKA Cure Thunder, a student of NRC and apart of Ignihyde or Savanaclaw.
Age: 15
Height: 152cm
Theme: Wolves and Thunders
Team: Midnight Rose Precure(Hero Team)
Moonlight Bloom(Band)
Position: Drummer(Moonlight Bloom)
Member(Midnight Rose Precure)
Dorm: Savannaclaw or Ignihyde
Personality:
Taiyou is a spunky, cheerful, optimistic, and humorous girl. Compare to everyone else's on Midnight Rose PreCure she seems to be the most prideful of her powers depending on the dorm she's in.
In Ignihyde: Other than Ortho Shroud(Who wasn't a student until the end of chapter 6).she's the only student from Ignihyde who was cheerful who was often attended classes, she was known for her lighting magic that brought things to life.
In Savanaclaw: She's the only student who was genuinely cheerful and optimistic girl who doesn't want to fight unless she was challenged, some students mistaken her as Jack Howl's sister but in reality she's Leona's adopted little sister, a lot of Savanaclaw's students can't stand her because of her personality, the only few who can are Jack and Ruggie.
However when she's not in her spunky, cheerful and optimistic self she can be very bitter and rude but only to the people who she dislikes, like the palace servants who always belittle him because of his magic "King's Roar" and she always stares at them like "The hell do you think you can talk about my brother like that?!"
Appearance:
Taiyou has short blonde hair with average-length bangs that fall around her face and between her eyes, and blue eyes.
Instead of human ears, Taiyou has large, blonde wolf ears on the top of his head. This is paired with a large, fluffy wolf tail of the same color that also fades into pale blonde at the end. When she shows her teeth, sharp fangs are usually visible.
Dorm uniform(Ignihyde)
Taiyou's uniform differs from the rest of the ignihyde students(You'll see it later)
Dorm uniform(Savanaclaw)
Taiyou's is similar to the rest of the Savanaclaw students but a bit different. It consists of a off the shoulder sleeves, dark-yellow shirt, a black leather vest, worn-out jeans, thick beaded jewelry, and an orange-yellow bandana with black trim and the symbol of Savanaclaw printed on it.
As Cure Thunder her hair became pale blonde and tied up in a right side pony tail and longer till it reaches her shoulders and her eyes also became light blue.
Magic
Unlike the other students of NRC and like her friends. However she have 2 unique magic.
Her unique magic is named "Freeing the Wolves!" it was similar to Jack's "Unleash the Beast!", it allows her to transform into a wolf, her other unique magic is called " Thunder Life" it allows her to brought inanimate objects to life.
However in reality since shes the Guardian of Thunder, she can manipulate all aspects of lightning. That includes
Electrokinesis: She has the ability to manipulate, control, and create electrical energy. This power allows her to control all forms of electrical power, be it static electricity, thunder and lightning, magnetic force, or electrical pressure. She can use this power for other many feats such as:
Electric Energy Blasts and Balls: She has the ability to conjure concentrated bolts of lightning into a straightforward attack, such as beams, rays, bursts, balls or blasts of lightning. She can also shoot lightning bolts from her eyes and hair, and physically capture lightning bolts and use them as weapons.
Electric Shields and Barriers: She has the ability to use electrical energy to act as a defense mechanism, such as a shield, force field, or a standard wall of energy.
Atmokinesis: She is able to summon lightning storms.
Electric Mimicry: She has the ability to become a being made purely out of electricity.
Animation: Bring electrical appliances and inanimate objects to life through the vocal summoning of Quintessence.
Telekinesis: She can move objects with her mind.
Trivia
She's based on Thor and The Mother and The Wolf.
Her powers are similar to Quintessence from W.I.T.C.H
She kept getting mistaken as Jack's little sister due to her having similar unique magic to him as well as a wolf beastwoman but in reality she's Leona's adopted little sister.
She dislikes the palace servants as they always talking bad things about Leona.
Like her friends/teammates she also uses a weapon. A hammer named "Sun Lightning".

Omg Anon okay so, twitter user umbrellaacademy invited Cody to do a twitter space with them which they did yesterday (8PM Friday EST) and Cody stayed for OVER TWO AND A HALF HOURS answering fan questions and saying SO MANY things about Dave and Klave and I am still so overwhelmed. I have recorded it and I’ve sent the video to the host and they’ve said they’ll release it soon (although the file is massive so I suspect they’ll have a bit of trouble wrangling it like I did so it might take longer). In the meantime, some highlights under the cut:
- Dave’s favourite thing about Klaus is his openness. He’s charismatic because he’s unafraid to be himself. Cody also finds it endearing that Klaus marches to the beat of his own drum.
- He likes the idea that the briefcase brought Klaus to Dave because of fate/destiny. Dave is the missing piece of Klaus, he fills a void in Klaus. He’s as interested as we are to find out if the timeline loops back in season 3
- Dave is soft spoken. There are qualities of Dave that have grounded and soothed Klaus but also Klaus has pulled Dave out of his shell. Klaus’ openness was like an invitation to Dave to open up and be goofy and strange, and this was a vibe Cody got from Robert as well in the bar scene, but then the dynamic shifted later and he felt that Dave was the one who was opening up first.
- Dave would go with Klaus to be with his family. He would want Klaus to take the reigns and would trust Klaus re- what kind of life they could have together post Vietnam. Although there would be no hesitation from Dave about his love for Klaus, there might be hesitation about planning a life together because of the time period they were in. There’s a sense of peace and wanting to settle from Klaus. Cody just basically being solidly on the Klaus bringing Dave back to 2019 to meet his family train.
- There is a sensitivity and self awareness to Dave, Cody thinks he accepted his sexuality but just was careful about advertising it because of the time period. He also says that his Dave in season 1 didn’t have the experience we saw in season 2 with his uncle and that might have made him more open (I am staring directly at my reverse George McFly theory).
- Dave’s love for Klaus is unconditional, he loves him for exactly who he is. Dave’s unconditional love is a foil for the conditional love Klaus gets from his family. Klaus doesn’t really know what love is and then he gets fired this laser beam of love from Dave.
- Cody that been in a play where his character was in a relationship with a guy but he thinks Rob hadn’t done that before. The director set the tone that the kiss scene was an intimate and tender scene. He feels like there was a reassurance from Dave to Klaus in that moment.
- Dave was holding 4 shot glasses in the scene where he’s holding them with both hands.
- Cody describing Dave in 4 words - kind, sensitive, empathetic, soft. Dave would describe Klaus as free spirited, open, unfiltered, unexpected (he also put forward chaotic but didn’t stick with it and replaced it with unexpected).
- Dave’s first thought when he woke up and saw Klaus was “Is this a dream... We’re not sleeping much so this could be a dream, I wouldn’t put it past my brain” Also “The dream coming to reality but maybe not necessarily looking like what he thought.”
- He thinks Klaus probably took the dogtags off Dave after he died as a way to remember him rather than them exchanging them
- He wants Klaus and Dave’s storyline to end with love prevailing. He also floats the idea of Dave taking a dark turn and Klaus has to be the redemptive person to bring Dave back.
In preparation for playing Dave he watched the Ken Burns Vietnam War documentary series on Netflix and also looked up online about the Vietnam war. He also listened to music he thought Dave would be into from 1965-1968: He mentions Motown and Stones (Cody said he himself likes Motown)
- Cody’s favourite thing about Dave is the quality of how he loves Klaus. He describes it as pure and unconditional and simple and he talks about he thinks people need to love each other fearlessly - not just romantically but in friendships as well, especially with what’s happening now (and this sort of clarifies to me why he was talking about love over fear so passionately in the clever klaus q&a and what he meant by that)
- Cody is a fantasy nerd
- He would love to see Dave giving Klaus some agency
- He thinks that Klaus has some guilt about Dave’s death
- He would like to play a Commission agent (Commission Dave rights!!)
- Robert is very open and unassuming and funny and it was easy to have an immediate rapport with him. Cody also talked with Tom Hopper (about their mutual friend Bradley James). He also briefly met Colm and Robin and he also remembered he met Aidan (who here had a theory about a deleted scene with Aidan in the attic?)
- He doesn’t know how time works in the afterlife or how Klaus’ power works but Dave would have waited 50 years for Klaus
- Calem joined the space and they said that they hadn't interacted before but they had a bit of a chat. Calem said that his filming in season 2 was 4 days but about 1 month apart. Calem’s internet kept cutting out and then he disappeared.
- If Dave was one of the 43 children his power could be the care bear love blast and he could fire hot beams of love out of the hole in his chest. He would give Dave a more passive power to round out the more active powers the other Hargreeves have, like a healer
- The scene in the tent was filmed at the studio. The scene on the bus was shot outside. The scene in the trench was partly shot outside but some of it was shot in the studio as well (I wonder if he’s confusing that trench scene with the hallucination at the Rave though?)
- He said the scenes were beautifully lit (I beg to differ, Cody!)
- Klaus helped unlock that part of him (I think he means Dave’s sexuality) and he also says that Klaus was a very specific target to Dave’s love. Klaus seems like one in a million. When you love someone there’s something specific about them that pulls that out of you.
- Calem returns! He was in his room where the internet crapped out on him but then he went downstairs. Cody asked what it was like for Calem to come in and play an established character. Calem said he purposely didn’t talk with Cody about the character before playing him because he’d done the audition without knowing anything about the character so he didn’t want to risk doing something too different from what he’d done in the audition, but he did watch season 1. He also said he was a bit anxious about what the audience would think of him playing the character, and Cody went into acting mentor mode and said that he doesn’t think the job is about appeasing the fans but about trying to be as true as possible. He also said that Calem did a good job and he shouldn’t be hard on himself but Calem then said that he quickly got over it and he wasn’t thinking about it on set, just afterwards. Calem mentioned that he creeped Cody’s IMDB and he said that his dad was a camera operator on Lizzie Borden Chronicles this Cody guest starred in an episode of.
- Dave loves music like Cody. He mentioned Four Tops as another band and then Motown again. He thinks the bar scene shows Dave’s love of music but he wasn’t thinking about that at the time.
- Dave would be overstimulated at first if he came to the future because we’re bombarded with a lot more stimulus than in the 60s. The internet and iPhones would blow his mind. He let’s a “we’ll see” slip, which he then quickly corrects to “we would see”
- The kiss in the bar was definitely the first kiss and he thinks it happened a couple months into the tour. He thinks the feelings were mutual quite early, but that it would have taken some time to act on them and to be able to gauge if each other were really giving off the signals that they like each other.
- He’s appreciative of the fan love and he tries to make a connection with everyone he can
- Dave is an optimistic force who thinks that love will prevail so he would have wanted to do something to make it work despite the obstacles they faced
- Cody doesn’t know how close to the vest Klaus kept the stuff about his powers and the time travel etc but he did see Klaus appear so he does know there’s something strange about him. Dave trusted Klaus and even if it wasn’t explicitly talked about there was enough trust to go “wherever you go I’ll follow, wherever that leads.” When Klaus conjures Dave, Dave is excited to see him but isn’t really surprised or put off by any of the circumstances that Klaus is in.
- He thinks that Dave is more the listener of the relationship, but he could certainly see Dave telling Klaus about Dune and Klaus indulging him.
- Rob is very genuine, very unassuming, very immediately open, very funny, definitely puts you at ease, incredibly thoughtful, very considerate, good dude (wow it’s the complimenting Rob speed run! 8 in a row!)
- The aspect of Dave that Cody connects to most is his non-judgemental quality
- Dave would connect with Vanya’s softness and Luther’s moral compass (he said Diego’s moral compass in the cleverklaus q&a so not sure if he just mixed them up). He thinks Dave might be a bit too sincere for Five and Ben would appreciate being able to unload Klaus on Dave.
- He thinks Dave is not a tattoo guy but Klaus is impulsive so getting a tattoo really aligns with his personality. He thinks that Dave’s actions speak louder than words written on him
- He connects to the fractured family theme of the show on a personal level
- Dave being jewish was something he only learned about through looking at the dogtags, it wasn’t in the script or anything
- Dave might have studied Philosophy if he’d gone to college instead of joining the military, he feels like there’s a dreamer quality to Dave
- Even though Dave was pressured into joining the military, he thinks that Dave believed he was going the right thing by enlisting
- Colm is a Canadian Hall of Fame actor and Reginald is such an intense character so Cody would love to do a scene with him. He would also love to do a scene with Elliot.
- Cody remembered waiting on set to film the scene in the club and he, Rob and Tom were in an 80s hotel with a heart shaped jacuzzi (??? oh was this the set with the Handler and Agnes maybe?)

Belief in ghosts (and such)
Well here we are again and I need to write about stuff.
This time about the Conjuring House postmortem - I don’t know if the lack of sleep was the reason (I stayed up until after midnight for it) or because I am genuinely just too emotional, but Ryan made me cry at the end of the episode.
Yepp, Mr Bergara quite literally made me cry myself to sleep, and I am not mad about it at all.
But first I have to get this out of the way: Chef’s kiss for the two times he winked during the ep, huge fan, amazing content, he should do that more often. 😘
Now! Let’s talk about the end of that Q+A!
I could listen to the guy forever and the things he talked about were not only very interesting but also really really touching. Here is the full quote:
“I’m thinking we are refering to a spiritual energy. The little thing that is a soul inside this meat vessel, what makes me have my essence and what happens to that little light after I die. Is it something that’s tangible? Is it an energy or a life force, or something like that? That’s what’s always, I guess, gravitated me towards the paranormal.
I actually find the existence of ghosts to be the most optimistic thing you could possibly think of, whereas not thinking ghosts are real is a little more cynical. And I’ll explain that: I think the presence of ghosts is comforting - even though they scare the shit out of me - because it does prove that there is at least something after you die, as opposed to just, you die and your light is extinguished and that is a picture wrap on the old Bergooze.
And if that’s something that you believe - which is actually what Shane believes - that’s just... a shitty way to think about it, I feel like. I mean, maybe it’s true but I don’t want to think that. Just that notion of what happens after you die has always fascinated me and I do think that there is something to humans, or anything that’s alive, more than just flesh, bone and animated meat. There has to be something. So, that’s what I am refering to when it comes to an energy, maybe a spirit or something like that.”
Well, oof. I don’t even really know where to start with this.
But here are my silly little thoughts:
I just want to say first, he manages to speak with such... gravitas? (I don’t know if that is the right word, that is the closest thing that comes to mind.)
And the thing is, my own beliefs differ a lot from his but I still understand what he is saying and I am very grateful that he shared his perspective, and in such an honest and earnest way too.
I do believe that such a thing as a soul exists, even though I could not give you a clean definition of what it is, exactly. My own belief is that it dies with the body, that it can’t exist independently from the physical body.
But I can very easily see how somebody would believe that it can continue existing as a form of energy, and to make the connection from that to the existence of ghosts is not very difficult, I think.
And I wish I could do that! I really do. As he said, it is comforting. It is a comforting thought that something of you continues to exist, continues to be, after your death.
I can’t believe in that though. I have been searching for something, I don’t know, religious or spiritual or anything like that, for such a long time (years tbh) and I just can’t seem to find anything. I don’t have much to show for all the research and soul searching (heh), and it is kind of frustrating. I tend to believe more what Shane believes, and I don’t mean to say that you can’t have a fulfilled life as someone who does not believe in all of those things (deities, life after death etc; I am sorry for lumping it all together but I am speaking from my own perspective here) - but for me, it is frustrating.
That’s why I think that Shaniacs are not inherently more ~rational~ than Boogaras. Me not believing in ghosts is not more rational than Ryan believing in them. Like, that is not a rational decision I made one day. It is a belief I have (or don’t have).
So. Yeah. I really really do understand why Ryan believes what he believes and I sometimes wish I could join him in the Boogara camp but, well, I just can’t see that happening.
And on that note, it is just really moving how he talked about it. I don’t often think about what might happen after death (because I think it will just all be over) but the concept of death itself is fascinating. (Also, you know that I love creepy stuff in general but I could write whole essays about how that is connected to my queerness and autism and all of that, so I am not going to get into that here.)
And yes, I do think that there is more to humans than flesh and bones and animated meat. But I could not tell you what that something is; there are just a lot of things I don’t know.
And a lot of my beliefs are probably wrong! Like, I have no idea about how this universe works. I have no answers to the deep questions. I am just trying to accept that I have the beliefs I have for no rational reason, and that there is actually a whole lot of uncertainty
But back to Ryan, I adore how he talks about this. It is so thoughtful and I could listen to that forever.
Thanks for reading! 💖
#buzzfeed unsolved#ryan bergara#shane madej#watcher#boogara#shaniac#bfu#i spent an hour writing this#even though i am exhausted as fuck#because it is important to me i guess#meaningful if you will#but yeah here you have it

Let’s Talk About Coconut Fred
I wouldn't say its been a while since I did a review, but there is a considerable gap between this and my last. A lot is happening in my life, I'm set to finish my last term in grad school this Sunday, I'm waiting for an update on a part time job and I'm gonna celebrate by binging some movies on Tubi and YouTube, and since I'm facing some writers block on my last assignment, I figured I'd vent about something.
Remember Coconut Fred: Fruit Salad Island? Me neither. It was that year I moved into a new house, at that point I was just watching Cartoon Network and never really had a reason to watch KidsWB. First I ever heard of it was by chance when I was googling KidsWB's program list, long before this show became a whipping boy of some degree.
I'll get into a contributing factor to me making this review later, but for now, back then I saw at least two episodes in full, Bad Apple, and something about a tropical resort. I had some experience with the show, and I still feel like there's little to show for it. But let's get right into it.
What is?
The mid-2000s saw a small rise in shows with overly optimistic main characters in summery or tropical settings, ballpark to around 2004 when the SpongeBob movie was released, or perhaps when the show was at its peak, before it killed everyone's brains. It's not definite, but imagine if other creators assumed the show was gonna end after the movie, and they wanted to create the next big thing to fill the hole set to be left, a lot of faces would go red over the hindsight.
The show is credited to two creators, Don Oriolo and Sammy Oriti, with development credited to Ray DeLaurentis. Oriti has a very thin filmography, to say the least. He is tied to two obscure films, and this is the only cartoon he ever worked on. Oriolo has a more interesting past, having worked on Campfire Stories, a cheap horror anthology which is notable for being where Charlie Day met Rob McElhenney, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
However, Oriolo does have some experience with animation, primairly working on The Twisted Tales of Felix the Cat and other stuff relating to the property. Oriti and Oriolo do have a big connection, where Oriti was given a special thanks on Felix the Cat Saves Christmas. Oriolo was also behind I Am a Gummy Bear, the music video and the movie. So, quite an oddball pair and one has dirtier hands than the other.
They conjured up a concept and pitched it to someone in the business, in this case, Ray DeLaurentis, and what has he done? Well aside from some work on the 80s revival of Alfred Hitchcock Presents and Providence, he created and wrote the Bubsy pilot, was a common writer on the later seasons of Fairly Odd Parents, wrote at least one episode for Bunsen is a Beast, also wrote for Shaggy and Scooby Doo Get a Clue, whatever was wrong with it, oh yeah, and he wrote Bah Humduck!, the worst Christmas Carol adaptation of all time.
On the upside he has also worked on Xaolin Showdown and Ozzy and Drix, among other stuff that may be considered decent. It seems beforehand he had worked at Warner Bros. Animation hence how this landed in KidsWB's crosshairs.
What makes this show interesting is that it features both American and Canadian voice actors. Our lead is played by Rob Paulsen, keep that in mind, and I believe one character was played by Danny Cooksey. For the rest, we have Michael Donovan, who has gone between American and Canadian productions, Brian Drummond, the first voice of Knuckles the Echidna, Tracey Moore, one point Princess Peach as well as The Geek from Sam and Max: Freelance Police, Kelly Sheridan, who played Diana in Martin Mystery, Britt McKillip, who played Hannah in the Scary Godmother movies, and lastly Eric Bauza, who just two years prior played Stimpy in Ren and Stimpy: Adult Party Cartoon, and would later lent his voice to Slab in Cans Without Labels, the final nail in the coffin for John Kricaflusi. He's also in far too much stuff to mention. He was once based in Canada, only appearing on Adult Party Cartoon because one of the studios behind the animation was based in that country, and the rest is somehow history.
What About?
This is a comedy involving an overly optimistic and naive coconut attempting to spice up life on a tropical island full of living fruits, and of course one guy will have none of it. It seems every episode operates in a bubble, nothing occurring being of any consequence in another.
The first episode I saw, I forgot the title of, and... it wasn't anything to write home about. It helped introduce me to most key characters, for however basic they are. Not even something made for kids in mind, but are you telling me three dimensions is too mature for children? I'm just saying.
However, it was when I saw another episode that things went south, and I became better acquainted to Fred's brand of annoyance, either that or I saw how weak the writing of the show could be. Latter first, they incorporated a running gag where a bully calls Fred a mean name, but it turns out there is an existing character with that name and Fred assumes that's who he's referring to. The former, it's how Fred goes about carrying out the jokes, naivety can only get you so far, and the only way its constant use can work is if the character happens to be aware of it and is just using it to get a rise out of people. I'm just saying, regardless of it being a TV show sometimes you go through something so many times you attempt to rationalize it so you can justify the time you wasted.
But cards on the table, that was the last episode I saw in full, I gave up on a third one and years later, someone did a review of the show.
That's really all I can say about the show, it's annoying and there's no nuance to it, the plots are too weak to hold over flat personalities, likely dumbed down for a lack of true thought, owed to pedigrees of mediocre productions, or in two instances, having little connection to the medium at all. However, that isn't to say a cartoon is automatically going to suck if someone involved has no experience, but that really only applies to writers.
For instance, there's an episode of CatDog, Sneezie Dog, whose writer only had credits to live-action productions, and that episode was decent. There's a Hey Arnold! episode, Magic Show, written by a novelist who had no other experience with cartoons. It can be done, but it depends on what you're bringing to the table.
This is basically the opposite of Mike, Lu and Og, as in compared to another show set on an island that is considered mediocre at best, this is worse than that. Mike, Lu and Og at the very least had more experienced animators and artists, or maybe I'm trying to say something nice about it before the influx of negative reviews bury it, and because I did a review of it that's now lost to time.
But to give a proper summary, this show is like a beehive on a tree well out of walking range. It isn't doing anything, and interacting with it is always gonna be consequential.
But that's not why we're here
There's a bigger reason why I decided to make this, and why it's classified as a "Let's Talk About" rather than a review. There has been an ongoing stigma against this show, which to this day I still don't understand. This is apparently a rip-off of SpongeBob SquarePants.
Now, look, I'm probably the last person who would ever consider something a rip-off. Hell, I unironically watch Irate Gamer and consider AVGN to be overrated and overprotected, why else do people suddenly not have the time to watch a documentary detailing a decline in quality? My point is, I've stopped taking the rip-off label seriously long ago, so when something is accused of being one, I'm always going to see it with some level of skepticism.
Which is good, because considering this show a rip-off is a stretch so big that it'd be easier to call MrEnter a rip-off of Spax3. It's enough to vindicate the sheer volume of stupid that hit Johnny Test, and many asses are still stinging from that era, at least people are becoming kinder to earlier seasons of it though.
Now, I didn't take it seriously at first, I just thought this was general idiocy on the Reception Wiki's part, which is where I first heard of it, but no, people are dead set on framing it as a rip-off.
But let's look into the accusations, or the bigger ones. They went out of their way to claim characters are rip-offs of others.
Coconut Fred is considered a rip-off of SpongeBob, the character I mean. Coconut Fred is not a frycook, let alone employed in a consistent job. He does not have any hobbies that consist of catching things with nets. He does not have a pet that is the equivalent of a cat. He does not have proper buck teeth. He does not have blue irises. He is not square nor is he a sponge. Also, you're basically implying SpongeBob is insufferably annoying if you think Fred is a copy of him.
Slip and Slide are considered rip-offs of Patrick on the grounds of both being idiots. They're two characters, they have a clear Southern drawl, and few strokes of genius. Otherwise by their logic, every dumb character is a rip-off of Patrick.
Mr. Greenrind, you would think would be considered a rip-off of Squidward, but no, people call him a Mr. Krabs rip-off. I've seen only one episode with Mr. Greenrind, he's not greedy, he doesn't own a restaurant, and basically you've never seen a grumpy man in your life.
This last one is absolutely hilarious, Bingo Cherry, a sentient cherry who can speak proper English and works as an assistant to the lead grump... is apparently a rip-off of a house pet. When I first heard the claim of this being a rip-off, seeing the reasons, I thought it was just an elaborate joke poking fun at the Johnny Test hate crowd, but no, this is considered serious enough.
Next, the setting, Coconut Fred takes place on an island, above water. SpongeBob takes place in a city, under water. Coconut Fred and other characters are fruits, SpongeBob characters are fish or some variation of existing sea creatures.
I'll give the Johnny Test crowd some credit, it's quite a coincidence that the smartest characters in that show happen to be red-heads with glasses, maybe that's why Slip and Slide were considered rip-offs based on that technicality?
But fine, I'll play your game, I'll go one ahead and say this isn't a rip-off of SpongeBob, this is more like a rip-off of Camp Lazlo, but let me explain.
Lazlo and Fred are insufferably annoying naive optimists, Chip and Skip and Slip and Slide are dumb as dirt twins, Mr. Greenrind and Lumpus are grumpy leaders of their base of operations and are at odds with the insufferably annoying naive optimists, and both have impish sidekicks who often side with the insufferably annoying naive optimists.
It's honestly hilarious how people are quick to suddenly make comparisons where they don't usually fit, but are just as quick to ignore more blatant similarities for other characters. For instance, Bessie Higgenbottom and Penny Leftowitz give off some clear SpongeBob and Patrick vibes, and I saw at least one person immediately deny it. Either people are blind or they want to protect those quirky girls Twitter users like to wax over.
Sorry about that tangent, I wanted to get that off my chest for a long while.
Now, you may be thinking that I'm ignoring an elephant in the room, that MrEnter probably got these claims going. But let me say this, he didn't originate many of the attitudes animation fans had at the time, he just helped them to spread. People have already hated Breadwinners and the new SpongeBob episodes long before Enter gave their thoughts, now yes, I hold him up for not helping quell those claims sooner, but there is one person who is consistently credited to getting the rip-off claims going, and what Enter probably referred to in his review.
Not a reviewer, not someone on the internet, but an industry professional.
Rob Paulsen.
At one point, Rob Paulsen claimed that the show was a rip-off of SpongeBob SquarePants, for some reason. Best case, he is unaware of how little braincells the animation community has, I mean why else does AniMat have a following? But look, if you think about either show, it is easy to see where either contrasts.
You compare this show to one where there're more differences than similarities if you think hard enough (which is apparently a sin in the animation community these days), and again, more obvious examples fly right over your head.
It has gotten to a point where people claim this is a rip-off based on Rob Paulsen's word alone. And with that, I'd just like to place myself on the hill I'm ready to die on. Rob Paulsen's an idiot. Either he didn't look deeper into where the claims come from, or he just wants to look cool for animation fans. Either he's stupid, or does not have any grasp on grander implications. He was the same guy who agreed to have any part in Doug Walker's career... I can't think of anything else.
Or maybe most SpongeBob fans aren't very bright. I mean, they can't even detect sarcasm, and they have idiots like MoBros and LambHoot assing it up without remorse. A lot of shit has happened with the SpongeBob fandom over the past few years, and Rob Paulsen gave them more ammunition with the most baseless idea yet.
I'm harping on this because it's dangerous to hold something against the show based on one man's word alone. It's one guy's word, we don't know his philosophy or reason for saying these things, and if it's a joke it would be spread so much that people would forget the meaning it originally had. I mean, for instance, Brian Posehn only dunked on Nickelback because they were overplayed on the radio, and you can fill in the blanks.
Final Thoughts
On any other day, this would just be an incredibly obnoxious show that is rightly ragged on, for better or worse. However, when people decide to base their views of it on what another said, it ruins the prospect, because half the time the grander context is sorely missed. I don't care what Rob Paulsen says, his word is meaningless because it was done for validation rather than seeing what he has done.
This is just a case of favoritism and ignorance. If this was considered a Camp Lazlo rip-off then that would be fine as that and this have too many similarities to ignore. To whoever got those crazy allegations going, I hope their career is as troubled as Cam Clarke's.
