When Solas says
"I was trying to determine some way to show you what you mean to me."
and
"For now, the best gift I can offer is the truth."
it makes me cry SO MUCH because that "for now" really implies he was planning ahead, that he was hoping Lavellan would accept his full identity, and they would stay together.
That "for now" means he already had more gifts in mind, more ways to show her what she meant to him. In that moment, in that glade, under those circumstances, he could only give her the truth she deserved - so words, knowledge, love and respect in the form of a spoken revelation -, but what about later? What was his next gift to her going to be? Something tangible, like a love memento, something precious to wear and show everyone? More knowledge and wisdom to share with her? Memories and scenes from his old life?
Weekes said Solas was ready to tell her the truth, forget about his duty, and lose himself in Lavellan, but chickened out at the last second. So I'm really curious to know what kind of future he envisioned in those blissful last moments before he lost his courage - what other presents and displays of love he was ready to give to her.

Thinking about how Diavolo’s feelings transcend time and how in the Nightbringer UR+ card Demon Lord’s Castle Tour this conversation happens.
When asked, “Do you wish to see your father?”
Diavolo responds:
Tumblr media
“I suppose I do . . .” isn’t the typical reaction to how a child would feel about wanting to see their parent. Especially when said parent has essentially been in a coma for a year.
Along with how Diavolo describe his father.
Tumblr media
It makes more sense why when you learn in Lesson 56 how Diavolo was treated by him growing up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Diavolo can tell when others are lying but is unable to understand his father’s intentions.
Diavolo mentions that he lived a very sheltered life growing up. That from a young age his father never allowed him a chance to talk to anyone outside the castle.
His childhood friend was Mephistopheles. A demon literally RAISED to be his friend. Putting a barrier between the two because Mephistopheles would put Diavolo on a pedestal.
Tumblr media
The isolating childhood he experienced riddled with his strict father constantly scolding him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Despite everything MC is so important to him he wants to see his father again so we can meet.

Just thinking about Howzer saying "I will not abandon my squad. They are good men. I have to try to get through to them."
Just thinking about how deep this must have hit Hunter for him to stop and hesitate, looking back at Howzer -
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
- and then Hunter does leave with his squad, but I also think he senses Crosshair's attention being on them as he turns back to look -
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
- and I just keep thinking about how conflicted Hunter must have been all season long, but I imagine the inner conflict reaches a peak here.
Because he is abandoning a member of his squad. He hasn't been able to get through to Crosshair - granted, the last time they met wasn't exactly conducive to deep conversation anyway, but Crosshair, the brother Hunter remembers, was a good man.
And yet... Hunter has to look out for the other four members of his squad, too. He can't abandon them, either. As he told Omega earlier, "Being strategic means knowing your limitations." And he can't risk everyone else, all the other good people on his squad, in a mad attempt to blast through endless Imperial resources and kidnap an angry brother who has given precious little indication that he wants to return to the squad anyway.
I do think Hunter is angry at himself, and at Crosshair; but mostly I think he is hurt, and confused, and uncertain, and trying to weigh the risks and figure out how best to protect the family - including Crosshair.
And I think Hunter spends a lot of time up until Crosshair returns trying to figure out how he could have gotten through to him.
And it just breaks my heart 💔

Still not used to this life or death situation stuff. That's good, 'cause I'm not either. You never get used to it.

Hoshina who comes home from work one day to find that his lover, along with her belongings, have gone missing. Not a single letter or note explaining why, but he knows you well enough to have a few guesses already. Three hours have passed and he's still sitting in their his couch thinking about you.
Then a stinging sensation courses through his heart and onto his eyes. You're crying— God, you must be crying. Tears start swelling in his eyes as the realization hits him. He's flooded with guilt as he remembers how you always needed someone to hold you when you cry. But who'll be there for you now that you're alone? It must be because of him, right? Why else would you leave if not for him—why else would you be crying right now? Maybe he'd done something wrong...or maybe you just couldn't take him any longer. Not when he's barely home nowadays due to the spike of Kaiju attacks. And certainly not when he could come home as a cold corpse at any moment. His insecurities are getting to him and he didn't blame you for leaving.
In his weakest moment, Hoshina bolts out the door and makes his way to a nearby train station. Maybe if he drowned himself in his work, he wouldn't have to feel the pain that threatened to creep into his professional facade.
My, oh my. Had Hoshina stayed in your shared home for longer, maybe he would've found the positive pregnancy test lying in the bathroom's trashbin.

We see a lot of postwar fics with Bucky being the broken one since his breakdowns are so large and visible in the show, but we so need more content of Buck being the broken one, after the war is over. If we focus on him in the show he’s just as bad off as Bucky but he’s better at hiding it. Usually Bucky would be the one to really see through Gale and understand him but in the stalag his own pain blinds him and he can’t see. (Good way to explore someone else being the one who sees). But look at Gale’s eyes in this photo.

(And to those of you who are showing this side of Buck in your content, especially postwar, bless you and thank you so much 🥺)

There’s something so personal about the way Mike and Will share their burdens and work together on issues. That’s why Will doesn’t include Mike in his rant about people babying him—Mike just doesn’t.
It’s always ‘we will [kill Vecna]’ and ‘we won’t let him [spy back]’. Mike is there with him, not in place of him. He trusts that Will can carry his weight, that he has the strength to do so, but he’s still ready to carry him if he has to.
Yes, Mike talks to him softly, he listens carefully when he talks, insists on being with him all of season 2, but he never babys Will. Even when Will was almost completely lost to the mindflayer, he insisted that they get Will’s judgement. He still trusted him, still knew he’d be strong enough to break through to them. Even when they’re fighting he values Will’s critism and thoughts, and is willing to put their fights aside to work together on UD stuff.
They’re equals, partners, a team.
