sometimes im sad I was never an anime kid cuz there are some stupid animes I would've liked when I was like 12 but could never enjoy/justify watching now

i just realized something (actually a comment on Reddit made me realize this something but anywayz-)
some people on the fandom keeps villainizing the RYOB (Red, Yellow, Orange and Blue) after episode 35 for not helping Green out with the silverfishes and just let them ruin his concert
buUT then we have Animation vs. Pokémon, where the same situation happens except that it's with Orange; Bro was being beaten up and almost killed by Ethan's pokémons while the others (including Green) just sat there and watched their long-while best friend being absolutely wrecked
their friendship confuses me so much sometimes; they care deeply about each other, that's for sure; but at the same time, they would not hesitate to let the other be absolutely screwed when they were just doing things they enjoyed doing
Orange wanting to also belong in the Pokémon World but being beaten to near death instead (they just sat there and watched)
and Green with their concert being absolutely ruined by the silverfishes... ("the show must go on" they say ; Red was even recording it... holy)

guys this "keeping myself busy with distractions so I don't get sad" thing isn't working
#my mom is basically scrubbing the house of all traces of her bc thats how she copes. thats what she did when dad died#like two days later she was cleaning out all his medical equipment and stuff#i guess thats a way of dealing with it :( just doesnt really work for me because it makes me feel their absence even harder#like for me i personally wanted to keep Dad's stuff around for a while because. idk i guess it just felt like he was still kind of there#in a way. i guess. i dunno#obviously losing a pet is easier to deal with than losing a parent but it still blows dude i hate this#(* a parent that you had a good relationship with. i know that im very fortunate in that regard. not everyone had that and i need to count#my blessings)#idk this feels harder than losing my childhood dog because jojo was basically my constant companion for the past several years#after dad died i got suicidally depressed and didnt leave the house and was unemployed for a good chunk of time and she kept me company#taking her for walks and hikes was the only thing i enjoyed doing and the only thing that got me out of the house. she was always there#(also there's probably some psychological component to the fact that we adopted her specifically to be a companion for dad#when he was wheelchair-bound and couldnt go anywhere. so she kept him company. and then after he died she did the same for me#so. idk. like.... i feel like theres something there lol)#mia.txt#animal death

21. Art styles nothing like your own but you like anyways
hard one to answer b/c 1) i don't even know what exactly what category my art style would fall in, so therefore i don't necessarily know what would be the opposite of it? 2) idk how to properly categorize art styles in general or like the names and stuff [aside from like generic umbrella categories]
its kinda basic[???] but i do def have admiration for the rubberhose cartoon style, and/or also like that sort of early western 2000s cartoon style?? really exaggerated expressions and fun dynamic poses that sort of break proper logic but LOOK really fun and expressive in general, i wish i could do smthn like that lolll
there's also just some art styles that i feel are more soft and "rounded" ig?? i have no idea if that makes sense but those are sometimes interesting to look at too, i feel personally my art style's very like pointy/sharp? so i feel like i struggle w/ trying to make smthn softer w/ rounded edges and cutesier? (like best example i'd be able to think of is making like chibis. i suck at those 😭)
i have mixed feelings on [photo?]realism, and idk if this necessarily correlates w/ that but for a really niche one: vintage woodcut/lithograph illustrations (basically the really scratchy sorta ones you'd see in like really old books or newspapers?) are so fascinating to me, especially more so considering the medium but i also just like how they look its very interesting... not sure how to describe it properly b/c there's also quite some variation but it just looks so coolll
