Being reminded of how badly S5 of Winx Club screwed Aisha over really be just, resisting the urge to rant so badly.
#i just....S5 was truly where they went bloom focus above all else#even when you got the plot being villain wants to take over the infinite ocean#and that the villain is aisha's own cousin#and that aisha literally in one episode swears to defeat him#only for the ep prior to the finale to have aisha be captured at the end#and get her sirenix absorbed from her to activate the throne#and therefore be prisoner for the finale along with daphne while the others mainly bloom#get to do all the action#with bloom defeating the cousin#like yeah cool aisha gets to say its what he deserves when hes banished after all that#but like aisha got to do NOTHING to defeat him#cause the writers realized its not bloom focus#like you really telling me your gonna tell us he needs powerful sirenix#and instead of kidnapping the fairy of the god damn dragon flame#he kidnaps aisha just so bloom can save the day once more#are you fucking kidding me#same vibes as fucking doing a animals season#but sidelining the god damn fairy of animals#like at least roxy's relatives wont the villains#but aisha's cousin was and yet#nothing on aisha's end i guess

How Bloom became a Mary Sue
Character Growth through Challenges As Bloom faces various adversaries throughout Seasons 1 to 3, including the Trix and Lord Darkar, she undergoes significant growth:
Regaining Powers: In Season 2, after being transformed into Dark Bloom by Lord Darkar’s influence, Bloom learns about love’s power through Sky’s declaration of love. This moment signifies a turning point where emotional strength helps restore her true self.
Strengthening Friendships: The bonds formed with other Winx members—Stella, Flora, Tecna, Musa—are essential for Bloom’s development. Their support helps her overcome personal doubts and strengthens their collective resolve against threats.
Facing Identity Crisis: Throughout these seasons, Bloom struggles with feelings of inadequacy regarding her powers and identity as a princess. Her journey includes learning that true strength comes from within rather than solely from external validation or powers.
in Season 4, the storyline began to revolve around her more than ever before. This increased focus on Bloom often came at the expense of other characters’ development, leading to an imbalance within the group dynamics.
Season 5: The Overemphasis on Bloom’s Importance
As Season 5 progresses, Bloom’s character continues to be placed on a pedestal. This narrative choice leads viewers to perceive her as being above others in terms of importance and capability. Aisha's cousin is the villain and yet Bloom defeated him why?
Season 6: The Diminishing Roles of Other Characters
In Season 6, while other characters have their own arcs and challenges, they often feel secondary to Bloom’s storylines. Episodes frequently highlight how only she can save the day or resolve major conflicts using her unique powers. For instance, during critical moments when teamwork could shine through, it helps Bloom who ultimately saves everyone or solves problems. This trend contributes to the perception that she is not just powerful but also indispensable—another hallmark of a Mary Sue.
Season 7: Further Amplification of Flaws
By Season 7, while there are attempts to showcase some flaws in Bloom’s character (such as insecurity), these are often overshadowed by her overwhelming successes and capabilities.
In Season 8, this trend reaches its peak as Bloom’s powers become almost limitless; she can share them with others without significant consequences for herself. Her role remains dominant throughout various story arcs where other characters struggle but do not receive equal attention or development compared to what is given to Bloom.

Not sure how to go about the headcanon things, but here's some for the comic timelines we both see and only got little hints at during Shattered Grid and Graphic One-Shots:
Eric Myers is not as big of an asshole as he was in the live action Time Force, or he never would have GIVEN Jen a hug.
Cam missed every single member of his team and his dad while stuck in Beyond the Grid, but was mostly worried that Drakkon got his slimy hands on his cousins when he saw a lot of the villains throughout the dimensions and timelines out on the battlefield.
Mia ACTUALLY learned to cook in the second month on Promethea when she lost her powers, because Tyler Navarro, Dana Mitchell, and T.J. Johnson were all there and all of them would have recognized something was not right when she didn't cook chicken and thought a Carolina Reaper made a great condiment.
Fun idea about the World of the Coinless: the Comic Relief or Secondary Characters are all badass and pretty much evolved like Pokemon when Drakkon took over. Fran got shipped to Pai Zhua with Casey when Skull finagled them out of the dungeons they were in for stealing bread and was given Orange, which made her perfect for dual combat in the field with RJ; Victor and Monty got found by Bulk trying to protect grade school children some sentries were bullying after curfew and turned out perfect to help out Trini and the first assault fighters in the field; Ben and Betty got split up during a bombing that killed their dad--with Ben getting picked up by the Coinless and taken under the wing of Rocky and Aisha, whereas Betty got caught by the sentries to be turned over to the Mastodon Division BUT got a final hour diversion into palace housekeeping because Adam is a big softie even if he can't stand up for himself. And so on~
Spike Skullovitch DOES NOT have a mother. Make of that whatever you want.
Animals still exist in the RPM universe, but are kept underground in a specialized, secondary location not terribly unlike the Son Doong Cave.
Cassidy and Devin are actually exceptionally competent when paired up with the Rangers in their high school to do literally anything; largely because the Morphin Grid sets up certain people to assist their Rangers from one team to another and these two were perfect. Though...for some reason they work 90% better with Trent than any of the Primary Rangers?
Orange is the rarest Grid Color and most of those who end up wearing it are female or have a lot of femme qualities and/or some form of mental illness.
When the Psycho Rangers were left to their own devices in the aftermath of the Psycho Path, Yellow never took up a different name and none of them ever went looking for the person that they used to be.
J.J. Oliver is a trans man and Anara is a trans woman and they're both pansexual. They go to Pride together every year and there is a MASSIVE betting pool on when they finally figure out they're basically dating.
Clare might be a massive klutz and Leelee might still be getting used to the whole being human thing, but both of them are the most responsible people in their circle of friends and family.
Sharing your headcanons is just sending me headcanons to enjoy/share with me, with I'm 100% down for. Asking me about mine is just asking me about headcanons surrounding specific teams or people. As a precaution, I haven't seen the comics at all.
I fucking love all of these!
Thank you!

Ms. Marvel Episode 2
Spoilers ahead <3
WE GOT A DIVERSE SET OF MUSLIMS! YEAH, WE DID! I'm excited for that one.
We got Kamran! Which is great. Did I get super excited because at first, I thought he was Kareem? Yes, and then I was slightly disappointed. But Kamran is nice too, he and Kamala's "driving lesson" was cute. I expect it is all about to fall apart. Also poor Bruno Brian.
We also got the mosque scene from the comics, kinda wish Kamala's retort from the comics of "well the Prophet's mosque was different", was included, but that's okay. We got Sheikh Abdullah and he was great.
Kamala and her mother reconciling was so relatable, overall. You get into a fight but you both love each other and you're trying your best. It was great. And we are further confirming suspicions I had after last week that something has happened in Kamala's mother's family -- her Nani and her mom all seem to know something about Aisha -- who maybe disappeared during the partition? She definitely disappeared, I can't tell if she then reappeared though, that confused me. Or if she was just gone forever after that. It was hard to tell based on how so many people talked about her as if they knew her, but that's gossip for you. But I have to bet she's the lady that's reaching toward Kamala when Kamala uses her powers. (Edit: I saw people saying it was Kamran's mom? They sounded very sure, so they're probably right as t's a thing that people can see and I was very distracted by... everything else happening in this show. But I suspect if it is Kamran's mom it will be confirmed next ep)
Also, TYESHA!!!! Tyesha totally knew Kamran was not a cousin, and she didn't sell Kamala out, and I love her for that. We've got a start of Tyesha&Kamala bonding and I'm here for it. Also, that lie would totally work in my family. There's so much family. Who's a cousin? Who's not? Who's to say?
And we got more pretty South Asian outfits for Eid! Bruno's reaction of another Eid? Also very relatable. It's like we just had one, and now there's another one? Well, alright then. I further like how Bruno is so integrated into the Khan family. And Nakia too -- her guilting Yusuf, poor man was so conflicted :(
And Bruno got in!!! To the Cal state thing! I'm so proud of him! It's definitely going to be a plot conflict and further relationship strainer between him and Kamala. I'm not ready for that angst.
Kamala's slowly getting a grip on her powers, I mean other than the fainting thing. That's not great -- hilarious reaction by her family to when it happened though. We also seem to be following the comic-adjacent plot of Kamala pretends to be someone else (is Night Light another superhero?) or just isn't her true self as a superhero before becoming Ms. Marvel, which I like because it fits with the "where do I fit in" type story that Kamala has as someone who grew up in America but whose family is from elsewhere.
I like Nakia's new storyline both of Mosque board and we talk about her being mixed-race and her relationship to her faith. I think that's great that we're incorporating the casting into the plot and I think I prefer that to if they just brushed over it.
Also, Kamala's powers come from inside her??? Inhumans maybe? But also maybe something else, either way, I saw someone predict this after last week and they were right, the bangle is activating something, not the source, and potentially it activated something for people up her family tree????
Also, the Kingo mention <3. I love that Marvel has its own Bollywood canon now.
Edit: I forgot about this because I get distracted easily, but the DoDC sucksssss. Manipulating Zoe? The racism? The usage of drones against a teenager? All of it. Terrible. Never talk to anyone without a lawyer. We found at least some of our villains.

Tecna and Aisha for the ask game?
Tecna
favorite thing about them
Her snark was always quite funny, especially early on. I also love how she just...outright attacked Avalon and literally roasted the entire club and shattered everything around her. All because of some conspiracy theories
least favorite thing about them
The season 5 plotline about her and Timmy going dating, when the show pretented they never were on a single real date before. They were and it was even a source of conflict earlier, because Timmy was too focused on their shared interests to see that Tecna wanted something more. And then she needed dating advice from the other girls, yikes. I hate when they turn a character into a klutz regarding romance or styling when they had no such problems beforehand
favorite line
(while picking out the ugliest dress Stella has in her closet) How about this one? You'll surely leave a lasting impression like this.
brOTP
With Digit I guess? I like that unlike the other Pixies and their bonded Winx the two of them just get along and that she's so helpful to Tecna (Amore and Lockette are too but they're way too cutesy sometimes)
OTP
Despite the writing taking a dive I really enjoy her and Timmy together, because hey, it's a relationship built on shared interests (more than any other in the show)
nOTP
none really
random headcanon
Tecna did in fact know what pizza was, even before meeting Bloom. It just has a different name on her homeworld
unpopular opinion
I prefer the comics depiction of Zenith over the one in the show. Even with her royal dad. I just like that they're comfortable with their use of technology, being technologically advanced doesn't have to mean that they can't connect with other people
song I associate with them
I probably watched too many amvs as a teen, but "Everytime we touch" by Cascada
favorite picture of them
the whole scene tugged on my heartstrings
Aisha/Layla
favorite thing about them
Her getting physical with the villains. I loved how she, when they realized their Believix powers were subpar for underwater fights, swam up to Tritannus and kicked him in the face. You go girl! I bet she would have tried the same with Valtor if only he had let her.
least favorite thing about them
The shows writing when she wanted to get revenge on the Wizards of the Black Circle for causing Nabu's death. Her and the other Winx splitting up, for a laughably short time at that, and them being like "Nuh, revenge is evil! Don't be consumed by hatred!" As if Bloom wouldn't have ripped Valtor's still beating heart out of his chest. I understood them not going for outright murder when the wizards apparently gave up and asked for protection, but like, that was a trick. It cost one of their friends his life. And they killed their villains before. So killing is okay, unless you're too angry while doing it?
favorite line
Aisha: Don't move! And put your hands where I can see them!
Nabu: Didn't you forget the magic word?
Aisha: Or I'll shatter you with all the power that's at my disposal!
brOTP
Her with Tressa and Nereus. I'm just a sucker for her stupid mermaid relatives
OTP
Her and Nabu. They even had a song about their love (after he died) andf it was so cute! It was a crime bringing such a song after killing him like that. And then the thing ended with "but I guess...it wasn't supposed to be/ Doch es sollte wohl nicht sein"
nOTP
Get Nex out of here, give my girl some time to grieve! Also that guy was such a random piece of cardboard anyway
random headcanon
When she was younger she frequently visited the mermaid side of her family (if they were family back then, the writing is subpar in this regard) The atmosphere with Queen Ligea, Tressa and the twins was less strict than in Aisha's own palace, and she became an excellent swimmer while spending time with them (better than the usual Andros citizen)
unpopular opinion
Aisha was completely justified in using her Sirenix wish to save her cousin instead of giving Nabu his life back. I love Nabu as much as the next guy, but he was dead and Nereus was dying. It would have been incredibly cold of Aisha to let him die, even though she had the power to help him. Not to mention the immense guilt hse would have felt for being unable to save another person she cared about, and this time choosing not to do so as well. Nabu probably wouldn't have liked being brought back on the cost of Aisha sacrificing another life either
song I associate with them
"If I die young" By The Band Perry :
I've never known the lovin' of a man But it sure felt nice when he was holding my hand There's a boy here in town, says he'll love me forever Who would have thought forever could be severed by
The sharp knife of a short life
favorite picture of them
The first and probably the most beautiful usage of fairy dust

Yes Aisha needs to be more popular! I mean how is she not? She doesn't have fanfics like the others which is sad but,,, She is the reason how we introduced to pixies and second season villain, in season three her whole planet and people was captured by Valtor, in season 4 her lover died again in season 5 her own cousin was the villain, in season 6 she was in love triangle... In almost every season she got a plot or a side plot. Also unlike other girls we know her history, childhood, her insecurities. There are too many things that we can analyse and talk about it.
EXACTLY!!!! this is exactly what i was talking about in my aisha essay. by literally every means possible, aisha should be one of the most popular characters. we know so much about her and yet people still like to reduce her to one off things, especially things that only relate to the other (white) winx (aka her occasionally getting annoyed at stella, despite Other characters also getting annoyed at her, not just aisha). Or they never "remember" her being happy/having any emotions besides pissed so they reduce her to Angry Black Woman. like yeah mhm please tell me more 🙄
and like, i mean it when i say the only reason she isn't as popular is because she's black. i'm 100% positive that if she were white, she would be one of the top three and there would be plenty of content about her. i mean,, why do white fans constantly ignore her? it's not like there Isn't content there to discuss or analyze (the things you mentioned plus so much more!!)? plus literally everything people find interesting in the other winx, you can find in aisha!!
we could talk about how intelligent she is, how creative she is, how passionate she is. we could analyze her parents and her childhood (like how she's one of the winx that actually has a good relationship with her parents). we could talk about her love interests and what those relationships revealed about her. we should talk about tritannus and the entire mess that was!! i mean god aisha is so self sacrificing and all she ever does is try to be the best version of herself she can be (at the risk of her own mental state too). or! let's talk about how emotionally mature she is and how she often gives other characters advice and tries to help her friends. or the times she lets the winx comfort her and when she doesn't (and what the says about her and how it ties into her upbringing).
there's just.. so much. so much! and it's literally appalling that she constantly gets side lined by the fandom because there is literally no reason for it. there are times when i go through the winx tags and there's more content about the specialists than her. listen.. ik winx club has six main characters and so many constantly reoccurring side characters, but there is literally no reason for why aisha is constantly ignored by the fandom. it just says so much yknow? because there are people in the fandom, who by all means would never consider themselves racist, and yet refuse to examine why they never think about aisha or why they don't find her as interesting as the other (white) winx.
.... i hate it here. i really do.
#ive said it before and ill say it again! aisha deserves better! from rainbow AND the fandom#literally absolutely no reason besides ingrained racism for why she's constantly ignored by people#😐#and im gonna be honest i dont like the 'its cause she wasnt there from the very beginning' thing because like.#there are So Many characters that werent that got introduced after the first season that are also popular#like idk valtor nabu roxy. like. hello??#and honestly i dont think that even matters because as it is. aisha is part of the winx club. she's there! she's not a side character#literally the only way for that to be a valid excuse is for the people who Only watched s1 and dont know/remember her#but for people in the fandom.. for people who watched past s1... no. no i dont think thats a good excuse#hold on. theres a really good post out there about this#not about aisha but this problem in general#like. this whole. fandom ignoring characters of color. its not new. it happens with every fandom#Especially with black women. its Always happening to black women in media#... man...... i love her so much. she deserves so much more.#and i hate that we cant bring this up without white fans reducing it to 'fandom drama' and 'being too negative'#OR oh oh god when they say 'let people enjoy what they want' but about this issue Specifically. god. literally makes my head explode#answered#anonymous#im glad there are people in the fandom who do recognize this though.. even if its not a lot#all of us are poc though alahgljahdgjad#literally been here for years and the handful of times this got brought up. it was a fan of color :)#*BIG SIGH*#watch this post get ignored too akghdg

I finished season 5 so here’s my incoherent thoughts because I can.
So, they’re weren’t that many new characters this season. Tritannus was a meh kind of villain for me. His Nick voice didn’t exactly fit his character ngl. His motivations were pretty iffy I guess and his relationship with Icy is kinda weird. I liked how he’s Aisha’s cousin and seeing her cope with that. Roy, on the other hand, we didn’t see a lot of. But, I see some potential in him, but was pretty good out of what we saw. Both Tressa and Nereus are pretty good. Laura Bailey and Will Friedle did great with the voices.
Right off the bat, I liked that it started off right after season 4. You can feel that the events that happened last season still lingers, such as Aisha reminiscing and mourning over Nabu. You can tell she still loved Nabu and misses him dearly. When her family turned to monsters, you could tell that she felt crushed and betrayed. I also liked the Environmental theme.
I also really liked how some of the couples got more depth to them. Seeing Tecna and Timmy go on their first irl date was so wholesome to watch and her using the skills she learned to help out Flora with her slight jealousy toward Krystal being around Helia. Also, we got👏to see👏 more emotions👏out👏of👏Flora! So far, we’ve only really seen her happy and calm being The Mom Friend™️ So, seeing her show a more diverse range of emotions is really refreshing
.
The 2 transformations this season are Harmonix and Sirenix, which I really really liked. The designs are unique to each girl and I liked the spells used by the legs( aka the ones that include kicks). I actually really liked the 3D and think it made everything more colorful. I also liked that there’s a dark side to Sirenix. The designs for the Trix were good, imo. It makes everything that much more unique than the other transformations. Also, I think that Liz Gillies is the best voice for Daphne. Her voice is 👌👌👌
Characters wise, I liked how the girls and the specialists are more mature. They’re more sure of themselves and closer than ever. I liked us seeing more of the relationship with Stella and her parents. You can tell that she really wants them to be together. We got to see more of these characters that we already have feel in love with and it’s really cool. I kinda didn’t like the whole “Stella getting turned into a 5 year old” thing, but I liked Flora, Musa and Brandon babysitting her. Icy’s relationship with Tritannus was a bit weird. It felt weird that Stormy and Darcy were being ignored for fish boi. I liked seeing more Darcy and Stormy on their own. Seeing them being the sane ones and doing their own evil stuff GAVE ME LIFE! Jennifer Cody and Kimberly Brooks did an awesome job.
Overall, I might be in the minority here, but I liked this season. Ofc it wasn’t as good as the earlier seasons, but it was solid imo. The writing was hit or miss sometimes and the songs used were, ofc, bops. Seeing Stella’s fashion show really shows us how much she’s changed a BFF matured since the whole “5 year old” thing. I give this season a 7/10. I’ve heard that this season is pretty controversial but I can say that it’s better than s7, sooooo yeah.
#winx club#winx season 5#sirenix#harmonix#time for season 6#yaaaaay?#time for the terrible 3D mythix

Where Fate: the Winx saga fails
As a winx fan of 14 years (in and out), this fate thing is really scandolous. I’ve seen lots of ups and downs the winx fandom. As I’ve watched all of the development that fate had, I've had some thoughts, but I’ve waited until I watched everything.
This is going to be a reaction to all 6 episodes of Fate the Winx saga. This is coming from a fan of the og show so expect lots of comparisons.
If this bothers you, please don't keep reading. A lot of this is only my opinion. If you like it and think its great, that’s good! I’m not here to ruin it.
There is a list of what I liked most near the bottom of this post. Spoilers Ahead!!
Anyway, back to the post.
What made the Winx work
Lets start with the basic idea of Winx. Bloom, a normal girl, finds out that she has magic powers and is from another dimension. Seems like a simple concept? Well, Seasons 1-3 (and 4?) expanded this idea to the max.
Likeable characters galore and lots of fun, fashion, and magic.
For a lot of us that’s what sold the show.
So lets talk about tone and why its so important
The idea that teenage girls were exploring a world we could never see or experience. And the darkness that came with it.
Remember when Daphne, bloom’s dead sister, clung to life to help bloom figure her life out? When bloom became evil and nearly killed all of her friends? When Flora drowned to save her sister, only to get enchantix? (Actually all of enchantix was like this). When Musa gave up seeing her dead mom to save the world? When nabu died?
The show was full of these small, intense, dark moments. That’s what made winx special. The light came with dark.
By making the show dark and “eDgy” it takes away the impact of the dark moments. I’ve been saying this since the beginning.
Point of view and how Stella is affected
Stella was very misunderstood in the remake and it shows. The thing is, Stella was the first entry point into the magical world in the original show. She carried Bloom and her parents to Alfea. She was the transfer point to a whole world for the audience.
Her spunk and optimism and snark made her a fan favorite, but that’s not what made her character work.
She was Bloom’s first friend, and because of the that, we saw her in a good lens. She was reckless, but a pure heart nonetheless. She was confident, cunning, and powerful.
It was because we saw the good in her first that made us like her. She was good before she was bad in our eyes.
The remake takes all of that away. She’s just a generic mean rich girl now. To be honest, Stella is accurate, but the way she was introduced put her in a whole new light. In this version, she is annoying and trifling, seemingly taking the place of Diaspro in her liking for sky.
Also she hates her mother? Stella would never! She loved both of her parents dearly and was mad simply because she felt they never loved her as a result of their divorce; they never talked to each other and she felt split between the two of them. (See Stella’s nightmares sequence season 1 :https://youtu.be/wuvyw0OHA6A?t=129). She was lonely and her father, though he loved her, spoiled her with gifts instead of the love she desired.
You see this side of her when Chimera comes in and tries to take her place in season 3. Her worth is tied to what she has and looks like. Her title as a princess rules her.
Not only that, Stella learns about “commoners” through her friends. She was spoiled and never saw people who couldn’t afford things; it was new and she was a bit rude about it, but can you blame her, she was always put above everything else in her home country.

^^ These are comments of people saying similar things.
Stella also vents to Sky a lot in the remake. She seems like she is chasing him pitifully, something og Stella would never do.
Edit: Check the “liked” section; she has been upgraded to sort of like in episodes 5 and 6.
Aisha
They did Aisha dirty as well. (Just like Bonnie from Vampire Diaries, why am I surprised?) I would write a lot here, but someone else summarized it well:
https://rainbow-whitewashing-jar.tumblr.com/post/639787632624369664/its-just-there-is-so-much-background-on-aisha.
https://www.youtube.com/post/Ugx4WL5rIPTS1suGOed4AaABCQ
Tldr: Aisha was a very lonely princess of Andros. She only had one friend growing up but then they moved away and she was lonely all over again. She copes with her princess duties by being great at sports and even beating some of the men! She stood up to her parents when they wanted her to be arranged married, until she fell in love with Nabu HERSELF. She decided her own future from that point on.
Also, her relevance to the plot has been dwindled to being Bloom's right hand man; the black best friend sterotype! What a let down for one of the PRINCESSES of the original!
She had her own goals, drive, and motivations in the original! She did things for all of her friends; she definitely wasn't only driven by one person!
And she was closer to Musa than Bloom that's for sure!
Bloom
The fact that bloom transforms before everyone else gives bad vibes, considering that one of the reasons she was insecure about magic was because everyone of her friends was better than her and could transform. Why would she feel insecure when they are all around the same level?
The theme of sisterhood
Ever notice that none of the girls had the same taste in guys?
Bloom liked goody guys like Sky and Andy. Stella liked guys who were fun and flirty like Brandon.
In fact, none of the girls ever fought over a guy, they fought over things that actually mattered like someone being rude or a mission gone wrong.
That's what made them relatable. They weren't petty about guys and they mostly respected each other's relationships.
https://www.youtube.com/post/Ugz6TEOmGRV2Cfqy12F4AaABCQ?lc=UgwhLsToVbhLDYpFphB4AaABAg
^^ Look at highlighted comment
Not only that, but the winx represented a positive sisterhood. They stood by each other and respected each other; they never let men come between them and shared their power with each other.
Only the trix, the bad sisterhood, fought over men and power. The trix were foils to the winx and what they stood for! That's what made them some of the best villains in the series!
Instead of that, we get useless relationship drama! 😒
And that brings me to...
Stella/Sky/Bloom & Riven/Dane/Terra
What was the point of Dane? I'm still asking myself that question. He doesn't really do anything except act as relationship fuel for a love triangle.
Don't get me wrong, the representation is needed. But he adds nothing to the real plot at all except that Terra thinks he likes her, and he has a crush on Riven.
In terms of the Stella and Bloom love triangle with Sky, apparently she BLINDED someone because they flirted with sky. What?!? Stella isn't that cruel at all. The show clearly flanderized her to a cruel mean girl so....
Edit: Check the “liked” section; she has been upgraded to sort of like in episodes 5 and 6.
Lets not forget about “diversity”
Male fairies did exist before Fate:

https://www.youtube.com/post/UgxWAFZRmqt_k3iBMhZ4AaABCQ
Flora/Terra, Musa, and Whitewashing
Terra and Musa are wonderful! Their actress' do a great job; their personalities are so similar to the original (except for musa's mind abilities and Terra's talkative personality)! Whenever one of them interacts with the other main cast, you feel actual friendship chemistry between them!!
But there is an elephant in the room: the whitewashing. If these characters were the correct race, they wouldn't be in this critical review.
Terra isn't flora, but her character was clearly based on her! Also, she has a cousin named Flora, so Flora is clearly in this universe.
??
Why change her race and swap her out! The personalities are spot on, which makes it even more disheartening to know that they would rather replace two POC characters with white characters who essentially are the same people and have the same plot importance.
What a shame and low blow that is! Especially since I am a black woman myself!
Sky and Riven
Them being bros make no sense really. Before they were more like enemies who were forced to work together.
Why are they friends?? What's the backstory?
Other than that, sky is pretty spot on. He's the pretty boy with good intentions. Not interesting but not very boring either.
Riven is cringy like I feared. He was also sort of cringe in the og but because of the darker setting in the remake he just feels even more so.
Other Criticisms:
- we gets some pretty cringy dialogue (mostly from riven). Some of the clingy dialogue (not from riven) ironically could have worked in a lighter setting and become "campy".
- The fact that there are no wings for 5 whole episodes, just makes the entire thing feel like Witches or something...
- why does everyone have the dead parent trope??
- no tecna
Things I do like:
- bloom missing her parents and feeling left out
- Musa and Sam before Musa and Riven (hopefully)
- Terra in general
- Terra’s dad and brother
- Musa in general
- Stella funny quips
- the scenery is gorgeous
- Stella's clothes are so fashionable! She has great outfits!
- Sky and Bloom taking during the party and/or being friendly with each other
- the magic cgi looks good 👍
- the rooms of the girls dorms and the castle looks great on the inside
- Aisha's personality
- Farrah Dowling is good as well
- Bloom is pretty spot on
- Stella's mom's powers are awesome
- imagine the genocide plot but with the happy fun show vibe and with the trix. The trix want to get revenge on faragonda for killing their cult, who wanted to revive the ancestral witches or something💥💥💥
- Stella in episodes 5 and 6 is cool
- the inclusion of the witches of aster dell (Beatrix said she was born there = witch)
- the inclusion of musa’s mother’s death
-Her transformation was lackluster to me, but I appreciated the effort to include it.
Conclusion
The pacing was all over the place to me; it felt like some episodes lasted forever and all of them seemed to have the vague theme of : be careful who you trust.
By trying to separate the winx from the og and have them have "their own lives" (which they already had), they ruined the intriguing backstories the characters already had in the og. Some were somewhat kept, but others were kind of left in the dust *cough*Aisha*cough*.
They took away with made them special: the teamwork, love, and friendship that brought them together and made them stronger. *They try it in episodes 5 and 6, but to me it just falls sort of flat.*
That said it isn't completely bad, it's mediocre at best, but it isn't Winx and that's that.
Edit: I know that it’s not supposed to be winx per say, but it has characters from the og and even the “winx” name in the title!

I never watched Winx as a kid, so I really hope I don't sound like an idiot for asking this. What exactly does the Netflix Winx series do wrong besides giving it the "dark and gritty" makeover?
So like. There are a lot of problems here and I’ll try to tackle them. I haven’t finished the reboot because I have difficulty getting through things I like, much less things I hate watch. But anyway, this gets long and is separated into parts.
Let’s start with it’s issues on it’s own and not as an adaptation:
It’s still pretty garbage. Not ‘the worst thing ever’. Interesting enough. But it does have problems. Some racist and homophobic and fatphobic writing. The characters range from ‘kind of a jerk’ to ‘straight up assholes who will cause physical harm for petty reasons’. The nicest one so far is Terra, but even she kinda snaps and strangles a guy with her plant powers.
Now on to things it fails on as an adaptation!
First, the whitewashing!
Of the six main characters, 3/6 were poc-coded in the original cartoon(I say ‘coded’ because they’re not Humans from Earth but still). Aisha is black, Flora is Latina, and Musa is Chinese.
Aisha is the only one who remains black. I’ve heard varying testimonies on Musa’s actor, but the ‘best’ I’ve heard is that she’s 1/4 Singaporean and white passing. I don’t have the authority to say if that’s in the clear or not so I’m leaving that to other fans.
Flora gets the worst though. They cast a white woman to play her. Then backtracked and said ‘oh, this isn’t Flora. We replaced her with her white cousin Terra’. Yeah you can see the problem there.
Characters they got rid of entirely! I’ll only discuss characters that showed up in the first two seasons of the original show since Fate only has one season. (I’d say just the first, but they included Aisha who is from Season 2).
Let’s see. They got rid of Tecna, one of the main six girls. It’s likely because they’re going for a more ‘bootleg Hogwarts’ vibe, and Tecna’s magic being heavily technology based ruins that. So she’s just tossed altogether.
The boys! Oh my god my boys! Sky and Riven are the only ones who were kept in, while Brandon, Timmy and Helia got scrapped and replaced as well. The other boys like Dane and Sam? Totally could’ve just given them those names and been done with it.
Then there’s Icy, Darcy and Stormy! I’m counting them together because that’s exactly what Fate did! The three Witches are villains in the series, and instead of keeping a trio, they combined her into a single character. Beatrix.
I think Silva was also an amalgamation of the remaining Headmaster/Headmistresses and a few other staff members but considering they condensed it to just one school it kind of makes sense.
Sometimes there’s just a name change like the Headmistress of Alfea was changed to Farah Dowling instead of Faragonda which is so pointless.
Overall there’s other minor characters that don’t show up, like the rest of the school staff, Mirta and Lucy, so on and so forth. But I’m less upset about that. Still upset though because I love them.
Personality changes! And romance drama!
Oh boy. Oh boy oh boy oh boy.
I already mentioned how they made everyone an asshole in this reboot. In the original show, the only protagonist that was consistently a jerk was Riven, but he was more of the ‘grumpy but still a good guy’ type of asshole.
Let’s compare just one character and her relationships to others!
Stella in the Original Cartoon: Preppy and sometimes a little vain, could be blunt to the point of insulting, but never malicious. Very sweet and loves her friends. She and Bloom are best friends, Stella having been the one to bring Bloom into the world of Magix and will do everything she can to make sure she’s safe. Stella’s love interest is Brandon, who is bffs with Bloom’s love interest Sky. Stella and Brandon are very cheesy and cute together. They aren’t usually jealous, and can even make a competition out of ‘how many phone numbers can I get?’.
Stella in Fate: Total bitch to all her roommates. She’s getting the common ‘my mom’s a bitch who puts pressure on me so I’m going to be a bitch’ thing that’s become popular now. Since Brandon was deleted, they put her in a love triangle with Bloom and Sky, Sky being Stella’s ex bf. And despite breaking up with him, Stella sees him just talking to Bloom and decides ‘Hm. Let’s prey on her insecurities that she doesn’t belong here, and manipulate her into leaving!’ Which includes walking through a forest where there was recently a man attacked and viscously killed by some kind of monster, so I’m putting it up to attempted murder.
Yeah. Everyone’s kind of like that. It’s awful.
Bloom’s backstory and parents!
Okay, this can kind of fall under both ‘personality changes’ and ‘plot changes’ but it deserves it’s own section.
In the Original Cartoon, Bloom’s home kingdom was attacked and destroyed by villains searching for something called the Dragon Flame. Bloom was a baby with said power, so her older sister sent her to Earth, a world without Magic, where she would be safe and hidden. Mike and Vanessa find her and adopt her, loving her and raising her very well. They are good parents. Bloom learns she has powers when she meets Stella, and instinctively uses Magic to protect her.
In Fate, the only thing really the same is that Bloom was sent to Earth. I’m a little unclear on why, but instead of giving her loving adoptive parents, they made her a Changeling with emotionally abusive parents! Let me elaborate a little: Instead of adopting Bloom of their own free will, Mike and Vanessa’s real child died in the hospital and was secretly replaced with Bloom. Her parents are also, as mentioned, emotionally abusive. So much so that Fate!Bloom’s powers first manifested by setting them on fire in the middle of the night.
Fun. Ain’t it?
Now onto plot points!
Again, pretty much the only thing the same is ‘Bloom discovers she has Magic, goes to another Dimension to learn at a school called Alfea. Gets into adventures with her Roomates while trying to figure out where she’s really from’.
The whole ‘Burned ones’ were.... not a thing at all. There wasn’t any kind of ‘barrier’ to keep out ‘dangerous creatures’ or anything.
I’m not going to go over every single subplot but that was just. No. They were easily allowed to go outside the school.
The whole vibe
This is a big thing to talk about. While the reboot went for ‘dark and gritty’ over the bright colors and sparkles, it also went for ‘bootleg Hogwarts’ instead of anything interesting.
In the reboot, the merging of Magic and Technloogy is mostly like. ‘Yeah we go to school in this old ass castle and we don’t use guns in weaponry class, but we have smartphones and social media and Harry Potter!”.
In the Original??? The whole world was very Magitech. It was a combination of Magic and Scifi! Kinda Steven Universe style actually.
The transformations!!!
Look. LOOK. Winx Club is a Magical Girl show! They have those beautiful transformation sequences that last a solid minute or so of screen time. And they also have like. At least one new Transformation a Season, which comes with an ungodly amount of different cool outfits.
The reboot? One transformation sequence. And while the effects are nice, Bloom doesn’t even get a new outfit. Just a few flames coming off her that look vaguely like wings.
SPEAKING OF! They are Faeries!!!! But they don’t have wings????? What????
Look idgaf about your effects budget you could’ve made the cheesiest shit like the live action Sailor Moon stuff and fans would’ve loved it!
Bonus: The fact that they didn’t have to change anything to make it ‘Dark’!
So like. Netflix decided to take all the color out of it, and make it ‘dark’ by having the characters smoke and drink and have sex and say swears.
But they.... really didn’t have to! The original cartoon was plenty dark, despite it’s colorful aesthetic! If you wanted to do a more serious reboot, you could have easily done it by focusing more on those aspects.
Hell, there are many fans who have done it. I’m one. I know a couple others as well.
anyway it’s 2:30 am and this is long af so I’ll leave it at that.

Rose watches Fate: The Winx Saga
Episode 1: How bad can it be?
I have not seen any reviews of the actual show, though I have come across some (not favorable ones) and watched the trailer, which left me with “that’s not good” vibes.
SPOILERS, obviously.
I’m gonna regret this so much.
Shit, I forgot it’s a Netflix adaptation.
Horror atmosphere? Okay.
Farmer cursing out sheep? Am I watching the right show?
Whooo, spooky magic portal.
Sheep gore? Ehm, alright.
What’s that, a werewolf?
Yep, it’s Winx. Starting out with a guy getting bloodily murdered off-screen by a werewolf. I’m disappointed and we’re only at the title card.
What’s that music? Not bad, but I’m not a big fan, either.
Oh, look, fat white Not-Flora, selling flowers to some bald dude in front of the school.
Aisha with braids. Yeah, I’m not mad at her, yet.
Stella looks like she’s thirty.
So does Musa. She looks bored. That doesn’t bode well.
Is that fuckboy Sky? I’m giving him a chance - but only one.
Was Bloom loking at him? Was that supposed to be disgust?
Wow, Sky, who wrote your dialog? On that note, who wrote Stella’s text?
Also... that’s one shitty way to insert yourself there, buddy. Was that supposed to sound smart?
Aaand patronizing. Nice. I’m losing respect quickly. And, if she’s gonna end up with you at the end, I’m gonna barf.
Nervous laughter, yay. WE GET IT, SHE’S NEW TO THE WHOLE FAIRY THING.
Not a fan of the word mansplaining being used unironically, but honestly, you go girl.
“Quit perving on the first years”, I’m with you on that, though I’m pretty sure that’s not a phrasing people would use. Also, who’s that? Riven? Brandon? I don’t remember the guy’s casting, they all looked way too similar.
Stella with British accent is... okay, I guess. Not a fan. Also... she looks way too old and way too fancy for this.
Also... had Bloom and Stella never met before? How did they get in contact? How did Bloom find out about magic? I have so many questions.
So, the Not-Faragonda gave her a Hogwarts letter. Okay.
Stella’s ring is like the first thing about this that I actually kinda like.
Oh, never mind. Not “Sword of Solaria” - “Gateway ring”. And Stella hates being at Alfea. Oh, wow, so quirky.
Only 7 realms? Wow, they really shrunk the Magical Dimension down. I mean, I get why, but they could have left it vague.
Yes, yes, you desperately want to be Harry Potter, like everyone else for the last 20 years.
“The transformation magic has been lost” - I was disappointed already, but somehow, it got worse.
Cool, Tinkerbell was real and Not-Faragonda already knows, what kind of magic Bloom has. I mean, they said three months ago, so I guess that makes sense, but still.
Ooh, foreshadowing. She burned her house down, didn’t she?
“Magic can be dangerous, as you well know” - yep, definitelly burned her house down. Probably killed someone in the process.
"Trust the process” - so, is Not-Faragonda gonna be the villain?
“I’m here because you promised you can teach me control.“ “No, you’re here, because you had no other choice.“ Bloom definitelly killed her parents. And I’m getting major creeps from Faragonda.
That school looks like the X-Men amnsion. Am I the only one seeing that? Is this gonna be wanna-be X-Men?
Facetiming her parents, as you do. Nevermind, she didn’t kill them. Maybe someone else?
Jeez, girl, no need to be so judgy.
“Lady of the Flies, sweetie, don’t be sexist“ - I get the California stereotype, but that was very, very unnecessary.
Oh, they don’t know she’s in a magic school. Okay.
Not-Faragonda is a liar, get it.
And here come the Harry Potter references.
Can you tone the references down? Also, they have Harry Potter and Lord of the Flies in the Not-Magix. (And yes, I’m gonna be doing the “not” thing a lot.
Oh, they assigned Stella to Bloom. That’s disappointing.
And Not-Flora is quirky and can’t shut up. Okay. This girl is looking more and more as the exact opposite of Flora.
Stella was held a year, just like in the original show, calling it now.
“I have a cousin named Flora” - namedropping her doesn’t earn you forgiveness, lady.
Oh, yeah, Musa has mind powers, I forgot that one. Great.
Yay, big badasses, kicking each other in a dirty pond, how cool...
“She’s a ginge, they’re all nuts“, okay. “Amazing shags, though.“ Ehm, excuse me, what? I get that we’re all adult here, but like... I appretiated the virgin joke there, Sky. Not funny, but appreciated.
Is that supposed to be Codatorta? Is Alfea a bootcamp, now?
“Burned Ones“, huh? So, that’s the werewolf, thing? Okay, we have a big evil, now.
Whoa, zombies. And a traumatized drill sergant. Nice.
Is Sky smoking? Cause if so, I have no more respect for him.
Okay, who’s Rosalind? Bloom’s mom? (Please, no spoilers)
Not-Faragonda denying reality, as expected.
Oh, the bald guy is Not-Flora’s dad. Okay.
Oh, look, the... wanna-be evil fairy? Definitelly and “arsehole”, as she says.
What a polite way to say “Fuck off”.
Calling her mum a basic bitch is... very classy. You’re very quirky, very relatable and not like the other girls, we get it.
Are Stella and Sky dating? I know that’s gonna cause drama and I hate that already.
The hell is that? A fire Patronus?
So, what did she burn, exacly?
She looks so happy at the baby flame.
She’s got that evil look down.
And now she can’t stop. Shocker.
Bloom is quirky and doesn’t like her mom. That’s... the exact opposite of the relationship they had in the show.
And I hate that character assasination of Vanessa. What the hell? Why can’t a female lead have an awesome relationship with her mom who loves her? Why is Mike such a doormat? I fucking hate this show and I’m 30 minutes in.
I was close. She almost killed her parents.
Yep, definitely a changeling. I was gonna write it here, but I forgot to pause and she said it before I did.
“Someone’s been lying to her” - shot at Not-Faragonda with creepy music in the background. Yep, bad guy, through and through.
Seeecret tunnel. Seeecret tunnel.
Is Not-Faragonda wearing sweatpants? I mean, that’s her choice, it just seems odd.
Yeah, bitch, strangle the dudebro, he deserves it.
I have just realized I can’t tell Riven and Sky appart. I’m not sure, if that’s saying something about me or the show.
Ooh, drama, what did Sky do? I don’t want to know, cause my respect for him is already at zero and I’d hate to hate the obvious love interest.
Ooh, she left the door open.
She’s supposed to be 16. The only one I’m buying being 16 for a second is Flora. The others, hell no. I kinda hoped they had aged them up, but no, 16 it is.
Secret hideout, nice.
Is that Daphne? Nope, that’s a fire zombie.
*insert every horror trope ever*
Fire zombie steals the ring, cool.
Oh, look, Not-Faragonda comes to save the day, yay...
“Where’s Stella?“ Getting laid, apparently.
Silva? Is that the Not-Codatorta? Okay.
Oh, the drama... end the suffering already.
Oh, it’s Riven, who’s smoking, not Sky. I said I can’t tell them apart.
Great, now I hate that fangirl, too. Ew, smokers.
Aand... that’s the first episode.
Honestly, I had the feeling this was gonna be the Last Airbender movie for the Winx series and... yeah, I was right. Not terrible on it’s own (though not very good, either), but become infinitely worse, when you know the source material.

“Fate: The Winx Saga” Review
youtube
I would like to start with a warning: This is a review therefore, it contains spoilers. If you haven’t seen the series yet please go watch it first or read at your own risk.
I’m going to be honest; I did not have any high hopes for the show despite the hype surrounding it. And if, like me, you grew up watching the animated cartoon as a kid and got attached to all the fairies at an early aged so you think this will have a nice sense of nostalgia to it the way Disney live actions do, do yourself a favor and pretend it never happened. The only thing this show has in common with the cartoon is the fact that there is fairies and a few names here an there.
Not only did they replace Flora with her cousin Terra and changed Musa’s powers and story (partly), they completely removed one of my personal favorites Tecna. Not to mention Stella’s changed character, she went from kind hearted spoiled brat to stuck up bitch who wants to keep up appearances while throwing herself at Sky.
As you can imagine, a lot of the fandom is heartbroken with these changes but I think that if you were to forget you’re watching a live action of an animated series and simply considered as a new series to watch, you’ll have much better chances at enjoying it.
The story follows Bloom, a fairy that was left in our realm which is called “The First World” and was found by the headmistress of Alfea Academy. She enrolls in the boarding school and tries to unravel the secrets around her to find the truth behind her parents identities.
All in all, I would say the plot is pretty interesting and far darker than comes to mind when you think of innocent fairies. There’s quite a lot of mysteries that keep you on your toes and as answers are provided, they’re often followed by more questions unless a completely different story tries to replace it while you try to figure which character is a trustworthy narrator if any of them are at all.
Now some scenes are more dramatic than I personally believe they should be and it’s often because I feel like a certain character was overreacting, forgetting what common sens is or simply too self-centered to realize there are bigger issues that should be dealt with.
A lot of Bloom’s reactions to me felt out of place. In many many moments, she talks about how she does everything so recklessly and completely by herself ever since she got to Alfea despite her never once actually doing so because she always had someone lending her a helping hand expecting nothing in return.
On a relative topic, while the characters always thought of Aisha as a teacher’s pet who’s always trying to look good, she never actually does so and only ever helps her friends. She was accused of betraying them for disagreeing with them at some point thinking they’ll be doing more harm than good at a time where Alfea as a whole was facing bigger issues, a thinking process that I fully agree with may I add, and decided to go to headmistress Farah instead for help. In short, she was attacked for having the one brain cell of the group.
Other than that, I think most characters in general are well developed and easy to love. It’s hard to hate adorable Terra as she always tries to help people despite being for too talkative for most people’s opinion. I do love the way she stands up for herself instead of letting other people fat-shame her; you go girl! And there’s something quite charming in the way Musa empathic powers come in play; how she uses them to help people feel better. In addition, Stella’s character development is quite on point as she learns new ways use her magic and fix her relationships.
I have to state that I am not Beatrix’s greatest fan. I don’t feel like the acting was spot on. They tried too hard to make her look like a villain at all times sending the clear message that she should not be trusted. Despite that, Bloom immediately trusts her. I feel like there is more to her story that will be revealed in another season that has yet to be announced and maybe then I’ll change my mind about her but until then I think her character needed to be worked on a lot more.
There is also Rosalind who seems to be very well received by the fandom in spite of all the secrets she refuses to share. Her alignment is yet to be determined as she seems to always be hiding something. I think she’s far too mysterious, more than needs be. There are a lot of secrets she kept that for no apparent reason when she could have saved herself a lot of troubles had she shared them with her trustworthy teammates.
Speaking of the devil, she owes her freedom to Bloom but I still don’t understand why Bloom released her after being told she massacred an entire village full of innocent people to get rid of the burned ones, a story she believes. I get that she needed answers and wanted the truth about her parents but she could clearly communicate with Rosalind without setting her free. She could have demanded answers or waited on Farah’s help as promised. She could have at least thought of it as a last option since she had plenty other choices.
One last point I want to make is that despite the editing and music being amazing throughout most of the series, it fully failed the viewers on the most anticipated scene of all: the transformation scene in where Bloom finally gets her wings. I’m not quite sure what happened here to be honest. The cuts were weird and disturbing (not in a good way) and the change in music was too sudden like a dance where the creators and actress failed to keep up with the beat.
In conclusion, I don’t think the show meets the expectations and it definitely does not live up to the hype but it’s not a complete waste of time either. If you’re not as picky as me, I think it’s a fun watch and not that time consuming consider it’s only 6 episodes and none of them are even an hour long. I will most certainly watch season 2 if it ever comes out but I’m not exactly holding my breath in the wait.
All in all, I give it a 6 out of 10. (It may be a bit harsh but i would have given it a 7 had they not ruined the transformation scene which is supposed to be the season’s climax)

Winx Club season 8/19
And we’re back! Thanks to Evergleam!
In which we see the last of Diaspro.
19 Tower beyond the Clouds
Monocerous is the ‘home star’ of the winged unicorns. Does this place even have a star core? I don’t think we saw one. Maybe Peg moved here after Magical adventure, he found his own people. i like that idea.. of course I also like the idea that Peg still lives on Domino playing with all the local kids, and someday he’ll belong to bloom’s daughter.
Flying! More flying! I assume there are girl-and-unicorn toys. Stella tries to make friends with her unicorn but accidentally insults him by calling him a ‘horse cousin.’ Well, to quote Sir Pterry, “a unicorn is just a horse that comes to a point!”
They hear a scream for help from a floating island and ride to the rescue!
It’s Diaspro, the scream queen. She and Bloom are not thrilled to see each other. Then Bloom sees Sky being chased by the black unicorn. When I watched this in italian I thought Diaspro had told them sky was in trouble, but in English at least, nope! In english Bloom just asks what she’s doing here and she says, ‘Oh, just passing through.” nice, Diaspro. -_-
The black unicorn is chasing Sky, blasting him with fire from its horn. Bloom’s unicorn does not want to dive to the rescue! All the Winx unicorns are scared of him.
Aisha: “We’ll just use ranged attacks! let’s transform!” I love that she said ‘ranged attacks’ it’s so video game. Or Nanoha. ‘shooting arts’ and ‘strike arts’… anyway. I haven’t been able to reference Lyrical Nanoha yet this season.
Flora asks the trees and they say the black unicorn isn’t evil. But I guess the plants didn’t explain why he’s acting evil!
Bloom suggests they trust their unicorns. The unicorns do this cool pattern flying that makes rainbows in the sky. One of the girls calls it a magical air show. Magic sparkles fall from the unicorns’ colored manes and the girls realize this is cool and lend the unicorns their magic. Together they make a rainbow of light that falls down on the black unicorn, making him shimmer with iridescence before he returns to his normal color. The black unicorn is saved! His horn doesn’t grow back though, which I would’ve expected.
The girls land, and Bloom runs to Sky. Tecna fixes Sky’s flying suit, which is cool. Sky says he’s lucky to be friends with a Fairy of Technology.
Aisha tries to approach the black unicorn,. But he’s still not real friendly. Some unilumens arrive and explain the the black unicorn is named Aryo and he’s not evil, he just doesn’t trust anyone because the last person he did trust broke his horn. Bloom says, ‘I hope you’ll find someone to bond with.”
Diaspro decides this is a good time to step in with, ‘I’m sorry to interrupt such a touching moment, but can we just go home now, Sky?”
The Winx criiiiiinge. Flora holds her hat over her face in horror at the relationship drama that’s about to be unleashed upon us. Hehe!
Bloom works out that the two of them were on a mission together. Diaspro is gonna make Sky confirm it but before he can do anything but stutter, Aryo advances on Diaspro. She backs off in terror—and Sky looks like he’s about to leap to her defense, actually, when the unicorn licks her face.
“Looks like Aryo found someone to trust.” says a unilumen in the most skeptical voice a lumen could muster.
Aryo kneels so Diaspro can mount. She says she doesn’t want to ride a ‘winged animal’ but then realizes this isn’t a bad idea after all. “I’m leaving, nobody appreciates me here! Quick, take me back to Eraklyon!” They fly off, with Diaspro calling back, “Bye bye sky, I’ll be waiting for our next mission together!” Darn, I was kind of hoping Diaspro had seen the light and was going to spend time with people who wanted to be with her, get her life together, enjoy her new unicorn friend… but probably not. Hmm, now that she has a evil looking unicorn could Diaspro be poised to step up as a major villain in later seasons?
Stella: “Truly, unicorns are really strange creatures.” her unicorn bucks a little and she clarifies that she only means some unicorns. heh.
Sky thanks the girls for the rescue and Musa points out he’s not out of danger yet. Sky turns to see Bloom glaring at him.
The unicorns graze peacefully. Flora invites the girls to go check out some floating rocks so bloom and Sky can fight in peace.
“I can’t believe you’ve been on a mission with Diaspro all this time!’
“I’ve already told you, Diaspro tricked me, I was convinced we were on a mission for my father.’
‘Then you could have told me, unless… you had something to hide.”
“I tried to answer your calls but every time I did Diaspro got into trouble again. You have to trust me, I couldn’t wait to see you again.”
Sky wants to join the mission for the prime star, but Bloom’s still pissed he didn’t tell her about Diaspro and sky says again that Bloom doesn’t trust him.
The Trix apparently watched this whole thing. Stormy’s still boasting about how she got a prime star. Icy shuts her sisters up and they fly after the Winx.
Bloom and Sky are still pouting. Sky says he always trusts Bloom when she’s off saving the magic universe.
Happily, the gate appears then. The unicorns magic it open and everyone flies through. Including the Trix.
The gate takes them to somewhere else on Monocerous, there’s a floating island with a tower that looks like a unicorn horn. Purple light glows from the top of the tower.
But the unicorns land the girls at the bottom, because we can’t do it the easy way! Then they fly off.
But all of a sudden, purple clouds and lightning! Flora says it’s unnatural. The first guess is that the prime star is defending itself but no, it’s the Trix! Who have lost the element of surprise because Stormy had to show off.
Cosmix time!
Aisha makes a BIG morphix bubble around the Winx, but Darcy takes her out pretty quick so I guess she overreached herself. Tecna mentions that morphix doesn’t conduct electricity.
Battle battle fighting fighting, we’ll get the prime star first…
Icy does the smart thing and flies towards the top of the tower. Sky confronts her and Icy… slaps him with a giant ice cube! Ahahaha!
Bloom sees her sweetie flying through the air stuck to a giant ice cube… but Sky uses his suit and unsticks himself. He and Icy grab for the prime star! They’ve both grabbed it! Purple light explodes out of the tower!
Bloom’s flying up to help when she gets whooshed into the purple and the she’s in this… rainbowy iridescent space? The background looks like the glittery cosplay fabric I buy for twenty bucks a yard, but only if I have a really good coupon.
In this magic-space Sky is flying, dodging spears of ice. Icy has some good minimal magic gestures too, she’s summoning big ice stalagmites she calls ice blades with just a flick of her finger. I guess the animators haven’t seen Frozen. Sky is trapped. Bloom is upset!
Oh no, Bloom can either help Sky or go after the prime star, which will she choose? She looks back and forth. Sky, to his credit, is trying to escape for himself. He tells Bloom to go after the prime star, to trust him to handle himself.
Cool epic fight music! Bloom summons her fire dragon, we see it grow out of her hand. She sends the dragon after Icy while she grabs the prime star. Sky does something with his suit and he lights up and busts out of the ice prison. Hooray! Sky and Bloom have a moment.
The star case appears and says some poetry about trust, and Bloom puts the prime star in. Bloom apologizes for freaking out and Sky apologies for not telling her about Diaspro.
Icy comes back for more and tries to freeze them. Bloom; ‘I’m sorry, but I prefer the warmth of friendship and true affection.” Boy was that a stilted line!
Flora blows away all three Trix with a petal storm. We’re blasting off again!
The girls congratulate themselves.
Their unicorns and the unilumens fly by overhead, and Twinkle flies down to join them.
Now would be a good time for… a concert! With only Sky as the audience. Twinkle briefly sits on Sky’s head, which is adorable, then she sits in his arms. I love that, I always felt there wasn’t enough sitting on each other when the girls had their pixies, you know? It seems like the kind of bond that would lead to snuggling.
The girls sing, the unicorns fly overhead, Sky nods in time to the music, then he and Bloom have a romantic moment.
I know we won’t see the Winx’s unicorns again, but I hope Diaspro will still have her unicorn later. Diaspro needs a weird pet! And that’s all we see of Diaspro in this season. She tricked sky into going on a mission with her, seemed not to notice it wasn’t making him like her any better, and got a unicorn. So that’s… something. I guess.
Next time: Winxboards! Mielle! A giant… pokemon?

Cobra Kai Season 3 Review
Well this is definitely one way to start the new year
New Season, New Dojo, and the third season of Cobra Kai was definitely something I wanted to binge right away and y’all gonna hear about it.
Spoilers for Cobra Kai Season 3, watch it because it’s definitely good
So yes, I did enjoy it. I mean it’d be hard not to at this point, Cobra Kai remains one of my favourite spinoff shows ever. It’s not without its flaws, or cheese, but when it’s great it’s great and that’s how we’re gonna run it down.
To start, let’s get the downs out of the way first
What wasn’t so great
Circumstances by misinterpretation It’s a general peeve of mine in movies and shows when conflict is made because characters don’t talk to each other properly or they take what someone says another way. In Cobra Kai’s case this annoyed me the most with Miguel and Tory’s conversation in Episode 6, Tory had a chance to be a much more conflicted character but they made her revert to being ‘all angry’ because she thought that Miguel said she was crazy, there’s also Robby in Episode 8 - who himself is in no position to act like he wasn’t snaking in on Sam back at Season 1 - who decides by one look that Sam and Miguel are back together and then angry at her for not letting him punch Miguel. I get that kids will take things the wrong way a lot but sometimes it’s just a lack of creativity, forced conflict and all just to push more characters into Cobra Kai.
Wherefore art thou, characters? Aisha in the last 2 seasons was frankly a symbol of how to work Cobra Kai’s mantra in a healthy manner. So it stung plenty even before Season 3′s trailers to know that Aisha would not be reprising her role. It was a bit of a crude write-off and I have no idea why we wouldn’t have brought her in, she could’ve left Cobra Kai but also struggle to stop Sam’s aggression or even helped Miguel’s rehab. Likewise being without Stingray did remove a lot of comedy elements, they weren’t pivotal losses but considering we brought back minor characters like Brucks, Anthony (who is in like 1 scene, lost a lot of weight though so good on him), Cousin Louie, Sid, Trey, Cruz, Armand and Yasmin does make you ask questions. In the same vein, we didn’t really introduce anyone new, that girl Tory beat looked like she could’ve been decent and we could’ve had more new characters enter via Johnny’s new dojo but it’s not a big deal.
Johnny is a 2 Time Champion too, why do people forget that? Daniel may have the fame, but Johnny was also a 2-Time All Valley U18 Champion, so when the all valley guy goes to Daniel saying ‘we need the two time champ’ it’s a bit annoying, because Johnny is that guy too.
Johnny’s Choice Right so Elizabeth Shue is hot and Ali is ‘the Ali’ but Vanessa Rubio/Carmen is hot too, there is a connection there not only via Miguel but a genuine attraction is still there too. Basically going on a date with Ali the day after sleeping with Carmen was that cliché daft move and it kinda undoes a lot of Johnny’s character progress over the last 2 seasons to be his own man, rather than a reflection of who he was. I mean yeah we got him to realise it right at the end but he was still going in for the kiss and you can’t undo that.
Sam vs Tory While I’ll get into the Sam progression in the good parts, but the feud of Sam and Tory never has clicked with me. I know it was the whole love quadrangle thing but it just feels like in Season 3 they were forcing it a bit much so Sam could have a Karate Kid 3 moment but Tory is not Mike Barnes the Badboy of Karate. She’s an angry girl but it just feels a bit weak to continue with this feud, especially when it’s because...uh...yeah. I mean it can’t be about Miguel anymore, it needed a lot more substance to be a worthwhile feud.
Daniel the Saviour I wanted Johnny and Daniel to team up and beat Kreese, not Daniel beating up Kreese to save Johnny. It was the problem I had with Season 2′s main fight where the Miyagi-Do lot had all the major wins in the school fight, Cobra Kai is not Daniel’s show, it’s Johnny’s, and it just grinded me the wrong way that the big moment that would finally unite the two together was off the back of Daniel defeating Kreese alone, especially since this is the second fight Johnny has had with Kreese interrupted before he could get the win himself.
Thankfully that’s practically all I have, and none of these kill the enjoyment at all, it’s just that if I was reviewing the script, these would be my editor’s notes. So let’s gush about the great stuff
What was BADASS about it Just to preface, this is not all in ranking, some of it just leads into other points and stuff.
The Cobra-fication of John Kreese The Kreese flashback was very well-done in showing the audience how Kreese became the man he is. There’s of course the multiple swerves which we will get to but we almost humanized Kreese at times especially when using it to keep Tory on the side of Cobra Kai. Kreese in present day too is just, so good. Easily one of the best villains in tv right now, he’s like a supervillain in the real world: conniving, slimy and manipulative, and unlike Johnny and Daniel he has awareness outside the 80s vacuum, as shown when he gets to Amanda too. Kreese will forever be the top villain of the franchise, and every episode he’s in he shows it. I also like to say I like how Cobra Kai’s origins are the other side of the coin to Miyagi Do’s. Both developed from a martial art in a foreign land, brought back to the homeland of the learner, the only difference is that Cobra Kai was born in war and never learned peace, while Miyagi Do was born in peace and had to adapt in war, this can also be the key factor on what could save Cobra Kai: adopting and adapting in peace, but Kreese is never gonna allow that because of how emotionally numb his regret, guilt and torture has shaped him to be like.
Terry Silver is coming back! When I saw the ponytailed soldier not get named I was a tad annoyed, shouting ‘just admit it’s Terry Silver!’ but boy did they swerve me XD Turns out Terry Silver was ‘Twigs’ all along. Not only that but the finale implies that he will return to back up Kreese in Season 4...he better still have that ponytail.
Miguel and Johnny return to their roots While ‘Eagle Fang’ is intentionally a ridiculous name, Johnny going back to zero allowed Johnny to restore not only his character but his paternal bond with Miguel on his road to physiotherapy. The moments of recovery - while a little fast tracked - felt earned and it also restored Miguel to his kinder and softer self, even to the point where Daniel feels comfortable around him to chat and get along with. Overall it’s good to root for the main characters, and between the shenaniganry of Johnny’s obscure methods and Miguel basically training Johnny to be a normal human being leads to some entertaining moments and some nicer character moments, especially when Miguel starts calling Johnny out on his bullshit.
The many faces of Trauma The theme of this season seems to be dealing with trauma, which of course works in line with the show theme of confronting the past. Sam dealt with trauma the most having suffered PTSD from the whole school fight and it was a good display of how the fear can paralyse you. While it does feel a little weird given how she won that fight it was definitely something to give her character. There was also the confrontation of Miguel’s injury by Sam, Tory, Johnny and Miguel himself, Johnny and Daniel’s downfall in the wake of their dojo war, Hawk and Demetri having to re-encounter Kyler, baggage came for every character and they had to handle it in different ways; Sam particularly went from being very aggressive to compensate before returning to focus after having to confront her fear of Tory.
The New Quiver To add to the long list of Kreese’s manipulations, Kreese decided to overhaul his class with people he better liked, which called for the return of Kyler as well as increasing the aggression of Tory and Hawk. His final masterstroke being twisting Robby’s mind and turning him to Cobra Kai, setting up our primary antagonists for Season 4.
Good Character Redemption Several characters get the chance to redeem themselves in Season 3. While some don’t take that opportunity, the ones we do get are Yasmin, Cousin Louie, Chozen and Hawk. Yasmin’s one was a little undeserved I think, but being less of a bitch isn’t a bad thing, Cousin Louie’s was small but his dedication to family was on positive display now rather than his over the top insufferableness in Season 1, we’ll get to Chozen in a minute because it’s Hawk’s redemption that gets the most impact. While he definitely doesn’t deserve instantaneous forgiveness for his actions in this and the past season, seeing Hawk finally wake up and realise that Kreese is using him and that his change has gone too far was a fantastic moment, I wasn’t even sure he would do it until I saw it myself, finally Eli is back.
Amanda falls down the 80s Rabbit Hole One of the common compliments of Daniel’s wife Amanda is that she seems to be the only sane person in the middle of this karate war. She at least tries to keep Daniel grounded to the real world things, but the incident at the Golf n Stuff completely turned Amanda to confront Kreese. So now Amanda is all in, because she’s had to deal with Kreese’s trickery and manipulations, while we will grieve the loss of Amanda being the ‘Straight Man’, it’s cool that she’s now in this whirlpool of Karate 80s Supremacy Wars.
Ali with an Eye for Psychology Elizabeth Shue’s return as Ali provided us with a lovely episode and a bit where Johnny and Daniel got to relive some of their greatest and worst hits over the first Karate Kid film. While I say making Ali not to blame for the break up with Daniel is a bit pandering the fact that she bridges Daniel and Johnny to be civil with each other is poetic, given how she’s technically the lynchpin of their entire rivalry. While I may not have liked how close Johnny was to making moves on her, getting the reconciliation through Ali was a nice touch and does complete that arc.
Daniel’s Okinawa Adventure The Okinawa portion was probably the second best highlight of the season. I’ve stated enough my love of Part II in previous posts but the nostalgia really hit it right. The return of Kumiko was absolutely beautiful (side for a moment where it kinda looked like she and Daniel were reconnecting, because as I said I like Amanda too so there’s conflicting feelings there) and her reading Miyagi’s letters was extremely emotional. The return of Chozen was great too, I was waiting for the part that he broke his stoicism and they picked a perfect moment for it, Chozen showed a lot more humility as an adult especially that lowkey note that he may’ve considered suicide. Also being happy to train Daniel the pressure point tactics and being relieved by Daniel’s forgiveness was nice to see. And it all comes around with Yuna, the girl Daniel saved from a typhoon, who fixes their sales dealership and thus Daniel’s company, thanks mostly to Kumiko. Overall, the Okinawa portion is great and Kumiko is great too.
WE FINALLY GOT DANIEL AND JOHNNY WORKING TOGETHER I almost put the LaRusso house fight as a down point because it didn’t reach the same heights as the school fight, but I had yet to see what the actual final fight of the season was and ho boy. We had already done the ‘false hope’ episode of Daniel and Johnny working together early in the season when they were chasing after Robbie, so having the ‘break bread’ moment near the end meant there was nothing to stop them to continue working together. Daniel getting the final fight aside - I think the roles should’ve been reversed and we saw Daniel’s reaction to his house and Miyagi’s picture being destroyed, go for Kreese, see Robby and then Johnny for the save for what he did to Miguel - the final third of the last episode was like a straight up video game in the best way. Got that character twist in Johnny seeing Robby drink the Kool-Aid before going straight for the boss fight, and it is like a video game boss fight: Stage 1 of health in the back room, Stage 2 of health in the main dojo having changed tactics and having to fight the side grunt then Stage 3 of Health outside the Dojo with Daniel. It’s all very well done and culminates in the setup for Season 4, Daniel and Johnny working together, the All Valley stage to determine whether Cobra Kai continues or if it disbands forever, that’s the way to end it.
What to hope for in Season 4? Season 4 can go either way because we don’t know if Season 5 will happen. If it does I do see Robby taking the All Valley to keep Cobra Kai alive, while we do have rivalries in Miguel/Robby, Sam/Tory, Hawk/Kyler it does seem like we just need a couple more rivals to get through, we’ll also see if we can set up feuds for Daniel and Silver so he cannot interrupt the Johnny/Kreese rivalry again - I think Johnny is owed that win. Expect to see Tory and Robby get together as the ‘from the block’ power couple and Daniel and Johnny to have some growing pains. I do wonder what their alliance name will be, I am very curious because they dangled it over us, I wonder if it’ll just be something simple like ‘Karate Kid Dojo’ but we’ll only find out next year.
Notwithstanding is the return of Twigs the Ponytail Silver, but I do wonder if Mike Barnes the Badboy of Karate will show up, alongside Jessica (Part 3′s kinda but not Love Interest) and Julie (from the Next Karate Kid). You have to wonder where Johnny and Carmen’s relationship will go to, I want to hope that Johnny doesn’t screw it up considering that like Amanda to Daniel she keeps him quite grounded. I also hope for more mending with Hawk, not only with the Miyagi-Do but with Johnny himself, because there is a lot of Johnny in Hawk. I wanna hope that there’s a chance for Tory and Robby to see sense but unless it’s the final season I would not hold my breath.
In the end the best thing to look forward to is that it will be awesome, given that it was greenlit a year in advance and continues to be a wave of nostalgic joy. Season 3 kicked off 2021 in a good way, striking first, striking hard and giving fans no mercy...but in a good way.

was trying to think of a way to divide up ocs on toyhouse so i don’t get too embarrassed about them yesterday but then it turned into just trying to list like every character i’ve ever made the vast majority of them i’d never put on toyhouse lol. but this was fun for myself even though i definitely forgot chracters and even whole stories from when i was younger
kinda old (definitely need updating they’re from when i was 17/18 and haven’t done much in recent years but nonetheless are my most recent ocs and i would probably like to do something with them someday still):
all the alienated characters - raul and michael primarily, also side characters like their relatives (lennie, joaquin, marcell, maybe also shinsuke, natalia, nina, naomi, hana, leela, etc) and friends (still need to name them lol) etc
justicia (less set on doing her story any time soon compared to alienated, but still theres something to it i might want to work with someday)
pretty old (like i was 16-17)
gf debate characters (this is actually older than a lot of the ones i list as even older in this list but i kept working on them til i was like 17 so they hold up better even if i don’t want to finish making their story anymore) - isaac, micah (micah is literally kinda from when i was 12 lol but i brought her to like 3 different stories and she was a boy in the first one too so shes basically not that character anymore), and then side characters like mirabel (originated in same story at 12 as micah), ayçin, anna, micahs mom and her wife, micahs cousin (another one from that old story) etc
those ocs that literally none of them have names or barely personalities i only ever did character sketches and basic concepts but its like a ghost story thing i was gonna do - 12 y/o baby butch protag, the ghost girl, baby butch’s trans girl cousin, cousins trans guy friend
really old (characters from when i was like 14-15 that did not really develop much from there. most of these are characters i have had fun with and maybe drawn since but are goofy and don’t hold up in a lot of aspects and most of them i’ll probably never pick up for stories again)
football lesbians - monica, wanda, and rania
pigeon magical girls (technically maybe i actually finished a very abbreviated version of their origin story for a school art project when i was 15 lol but i planned to do more back then and now i dont want to) - zehra, ronni, the pigeon, probably not amy and zoë that was just a cameo for myself of ocs from when i was like 11 lol
naomi’s story (this one i might actually want to do something with someday, i wrote a short story about it plus a bit more, but i have to make some serious changes i don’t really think i thought of some of the implications of some stuff in it before) - just naomi and the ghost basically. not to be confused with naomi in alienated who is michael’s sister they are not at all the same person
assorted characters that never really had a story - mels and cvijeta, charlotte (thought about putting her in football lesbians. she does basketball but. jock wlw you know)
really really old (characters from late middle school, like 13-14)
uhhh that wizards story. it never had a name idk. i still kinda like them though tbh even if i’ll never do anything with them anymore - tess, ali, nataline, brandy, mo, remora, cnidarian
really really really old (characters from the middle of middle school, like 12-13. at this point my recollection of what came before what might be kinda off tho)
that fae folk in pennsylvania and ohio story - emilia, ilana, micah (first version! lol), mirabel, that boy that i just hate and don’t remember the name of and resent making a character that had a crush on micah, micahs cousin, darling/angel (a faerie that just went by terms of endearment as if they were names), uhhh the second group of characters in a different more rural town i tried to write that i dont remember the names of
haunted victorian house story - benji, aisha, elizabeth
updated onex arget (fantasy world i wrote about a lot when i was in elementary school) story - nai, rieae
idk this story never had a name and barely a plot beyond ivy and victor becoming friends and venting to each other - victor, ivy, miles, maitê
forks and spoons (story i improvised with my little cousin who was like 8 at the time lol) - florimundi(?), i’m forgetting literally all 3 of the other characters names lol (maybe reese and victor for two of them??? but maybe not bc those are also other very old characters that idk if i reused the names of)
theo and ted - theoni and theodore (aka theo and ted!), oh also that guy they meet who wears like. a trench coat iirc
super old (characters from the later half of the 6th grade and early 7th, like 12ish)
really dumb story about a closeted trans person with did getting transformation powers - i actually dont remember the main character and their main other alters names anymore, i remember the other character they had a crush on stephan though
all those characters in bands that i never actually could settle on a story for beyond a variety of interpersonal drama. very inspired by the webcomic jenny hanniver tbh - avery, mark, etti, adrian, xavier, pepper, uhhh theres literally So Many more of them and also so many i dont remember the names of anymore but just for some that come to mind. that periwinkle colored hair in a bowl cut character that always wore a beanie who was in avery’s band whos names on the tip of my tongue (maybe that was etti and the character i’m calling etti was called something else?? maybe victoria? maybe andy? maybe andy was an entirely different 3rd character?? idk. actually yeah i’m positive bowlcut character was etti rereading this), xaviers ex-boyfriend who was obsessed with homestuck (lmao), that guy with red hair i accidentally directly ripped off the design of some jenny hanniver character, that goth guy with braces and glasses (maybe he wasnt in this?), that screamo band with 2 lead singers, that guy with brown hair that said he was straight with an exception (msfdkjghhsfd god), that person with the emo haircut in flame colors, this literally is not even all the characters lol
extremely old (largely from 6th grade, like age 11ish. weird period of time where i suddenly wanted to write about romance but thought it had to be straight but then very quickly was like ‘wait actually nvm i have a laptop now and think i’m bicurious i’m only gonna write about gay people)
gsa story (this might have been the summer before 7th actually but it feels distinctly before the other stuff in the last category so idk maybe just my whole impression of when i made things for middle school is off) - emmy(?), allie(?), noah(???), some other kid, i think noah(?) or the other kid got reused to be the guy i regretted making a part of that faerie story who liked old micah lol, maybe more kids, their teacher
idk that kid with blue hair and black eyes with white irises and his sister
middle school lesbians - leah and cass
lesbian who works in food service and there were weird references to comic books but filtered through me referencing an obscure emo humor youtube channel that made jokes about comics i’d never read - amy, zoë, amy’s straight best friend i dont remember the name of??
tosca (this wasnt straight romance but it was like the last thing pre me always having lgbt main characters) - idk. there were two characters i drew like once. theres nothing to note about this except wanting to make it is what made me learn about webcomics
that story i posted the first chapter of on quibblo about a hippie girl (somehow in 2010?? dont ask me) and an emo boy liking each other before abandoning to never write about cishet romance again. didnt even get to the romance part lol - i forget her name. maybe it was april? maybe it was florimundi and i reused it later for another character, nix, reese (her goth lesbian best friend. thank god for reese)
first attempt at straight romance. also about like. idk. fantastical powers in clouds in providence rhode island - selia, shay, cassandra, selias other friend i forget the name of??
ancient (literally elementary school ocs. obviously theres a lot of grades covered here but its just my memory and ability to reference this is so loose idk if i could even try to accurately divide it further)
shadow magic - mezzaluna, her aunt tabby(?), alexa
a, j, & j (barely counts i didnt do anything with them. those are the only characters also)
arine (some of these characters might not be arine characters and just from other onex arget (fantasy world i wrote a bunch of stories in and made a shitty conlang for and stuff) stories but i just dont really remember) - lia, lias sister, dibujurm, that other fantastical creature who was friends with dibujurm i forget the name of that kinda looked like calcifer from howls moving castle but fuzzy not an actual fire (maybe isigo??), emiaelaesa, that obnoxious prince (i think the story was called arine bc that was his name?), the prince’s servant, there absolutely were more
the musical adventures of shiri and don - shiri, don, some evil villain and his henchmen
rosington (there were like no characters besides her. weird junie b jones rip off with nonsensical humor to everyone but me)
that tree prophecy story (maybe set in onex arget?) - nico, emi (?? maybe not her name), their uncle (i forget his name, maybe lester?), their uncles shipmates, that fortune teller
idk some kid that goes on a scavenger hunt to solve a mystery on vacation in like bermuda or something where he meets some quirky girl character who helps him. thats all
i had some characters that started out as me trying to draw characters from the book hoot by carl hiaasen but for some reason then turned into my own ocs and looked nothing like those characters were described and also basically had nothing to do with them in personality and action beyond name after a while. - beatrice and napoleon. this was in a phase where i got a ‘how to draw anime’ book and napoleon straight up looked like a yugioh character his hair was ridiculous
those fake siblings i made up and lied to a substitute teacher in kindergarten about me having 6 siblings because of for absolutely no reason even though i only have one sibling irl
imaginary friends i shared with my brother and then made stories about - theres so many of these, the most important though was chick-chick-chick. who was a very small chick who wore a top hat. and then he had a family(?) of infinitely smaller chicks (chick-chick-chick-chick, for example) the more “chicks” you added to the name
