Watched gone girl for the first time and i liked! Here's the thing i appreciate the existence of crazy women in stories, it's not something i see often (i definitely should try to watch more stuff), and i like when a woman plays a role like this.
I had seen few clips of the movie before and i had always assumed that nick deserved what she was doing to him and the movie definitely tricked me into believing that in the beginning when amy was writing the diary, writing about how he hurt her and she was scared of him, but to find out she's doing all of this just cause he did the same think he did before kissing her for the first time to another girl is fucking INSANE! Like girl is fucking crazy!!
The last 15 minutes were so interesting, cause the whole time i was like what's gonna happen, how is this gonna end, does the villain just win, what is nick gonna do! I was literally checking the time every minute to see how much time is left. I did like the ending though, i liked that the villain won, she got her way, also nick gotta be somewhat crazy to stay with her, like he could just leave, sure it won't be easy, he's got his sister and dad to think about, but just packing and dissappearing is better than living with someone who's that unhinged.
also i liked that nick knew her so well that he wore things she's gotten for him and play this role on tv to get her attention, i felt like by doing that he's not really tricking her into coming back, he's showing her that he can keep up with her, sceme and trick people like her, unlike other men.
Okay so does nick and his sister have a "close" relationship, because that first scene i had assumed that he was cheating on his wife with margot, just cause the seemed like they where very familiar with eachother and knew eachother well (although the scene of them playing a board gamed seems very sibling like) but when i found out they're siblings, and i really didn't think much of the show host making remarks about their relationship until the scene of margot on the floor crying being like "i can't watch you be with her for 18 years" then saying "I've been with you since before we were born" and even though those things make perfect sense for a twin to say, is just the combination of all of it just mske me think, ohh is there a weird relationship thing between those two?!! Is the story subtlety telling us something...
Okay i don't like when stories make a female character pretend that she was raped or sexually assaulted because rape snd sexual assault happens to alot of women and whenever allegations comes what about a man, alot of men (and some women) immediately accuse the women of lying, even though alot of us women have been sexually assaulted and we statistically know that a very, very, very small percentage of rape cases are actually fake, so seening movies/tv make the woman lie about rape and get away with it, is just upholding those peoples way of thinking. Rape is a very delicate matter, women still get called liars for and that's still so hard to get convicted of, so yeah i don't enjoy seeing it used in that way in stories.
But nonetheless fun movie, i liked it!
#i saw a small clip of an interview with rosamund pike of someone asking her about what it's like to play unlikable character#and i don't think amy dun is unliked sure she's the villain of the story but she's fun to watch. i loved how she had a timeline for herstory#also why was there so many comedy actors in this movie? neil Patrick Harris. Tyler perry. the talk show host and the “pregnant idiot”#gone girl#amy elliot dunne#movies#rosamund pike#👑

Astrology Observations No.23
*just based on my experiences only take what resonates
Quite a few people with Chiron in Gemini are singers, talented ones too
We always talk about intuition of Pisces and Scorpio but Cancer placements are also crazy intuitive. I feel like you really can’t fool someone about how you’re feeling with Cancer in the big 6.
Air moons tend to catch feelings when someone is unavailable; earth moons tend to catch feelings when someone is more stable/ambitious than them; fire moons tend to catch feelings when someone is passionate and courageous; water moons tend to catch feelings when someone has sort of dreamy/otherworldly energy to them (that unspoken spark really gets to water moons)
If you wanna seduce Venus in 9th, travel with them or teach them something new
if you want to win over someone with Venus in 2nd/Taurus you should get them gifts (can apply to earth moons too imo- as long as the gift is useful or high end for them)
Quietly I think Capricorn in the big 6 can make you just as domestic as cancer in the big 6, but a Capricorn is usually going to talk about/pay attention their public image more
Someone said the only thing they can’t deal with is someone throwing it back in your face when you try to help them/give them advice (like the other person saying you don’t care or that you’re just in it for yourself) and yeah that’s Virgo mars
Moon square/opposition to the ascendant could have people assume you’re putting on a personality/faking something
Saturn in Pisces is another placement to make sure you watch your mental health, all of Saturn’s consequences come at your subconscious
Do water risings seem to have a theme of like not trying to let their perspectives be colored by some sort of sadness ? (Cancer Asc - nostalgia /which isn’t always sad but if you hear cancer placements talk about it then they often filter their own nostalgia through a certain sadness; Scorpio Asc - traumatic experiences that shaped their perspective; Pisces Asc - a feeling of like ennui, a certain kind of listlessness)
Neptune in the houses can show frequent locations if your dreams (3rd house- school, childhood neighborhoods; 4th house- childhood home, places you’d visit a lot with your family; 6th house the workplace; 9th house places you’ve traveled to or want to go to, etc)
Something we don’t talk about with Chiron in 1st is that it’s an energy amplifier imo. So when you’re healed you give off healing energy, but when you’re unhealed or even toxic you subconsciously spread that energy around (or maybe consciously, a lot of people I’ve known that belittle and nitpick others from a place of insecurity have Chiron in 1st)
If mars aspects your 4th house you may have grown up fighting and arguing a lot, especially with your family but in your childhood environment in general
Taurus placements will have their whole day impacted by a disappointing meal (especially moons- also mars imo)
Aries placements have trouble maturing sometimes bc their sign is then youngest of the zodiac (Pisces is the old man but this can make them unclear and disconnected too)
Aquarius in the big 3 (especially Aquarius moon) tend to be really good at playing detached and calculating (in real life too lol but I’m thinking of Rosamund Pike and how well she sold her cool girl speech from gone girl - she’s a double Aquarius) (also in real life people aren’t always so predictable/controllable so this calculating behavior can go sideways sometimes)
I love how the Pluto in Scorpio generation is making all of this mainstream art about transformation and healing generational trauma (everything everywhere all at once is what I was watching when I thought of this)
Also I’m still working on how to utilize degree theory best but Daniel kwan (one of the everything everywhere all at once directors) has Scorpio moon at a cancer degree (19) and his most acclaimed movie so far is about depression, trauma, and generational curses (I love everything everywhere all at once pls watch it, I cried 3 times when I watched it and I’m a Capricorn moon so you know that means a lot lol)

Moon Dominance & Manipulation pt 2
TW: murder, rape, genocide, violence, assault, death etc etc
Here's part 1
In part 1, I spoke about the manipulative nature of Moon dominant people, in this post I will be exploring it further and providing more examples.
I think its interesting that the Moon dominant nakshatras, namely, Rohini, Hasta & Shravana are Manushya gana (Rohini) and Deva gana (Hasta & Shravana). It is very telling because even though these natives say and do terrible things, they enjoy squeaky-clean reputations and people usually perceive them as angels. If they were Rakshasa gana people would see through their bs more quickly.
Ariana Grande- Hasta Moon conjunct Jupiter
Ariana has said and done numerous problematic things over the years, from cheating scandals, blackfishing, donutgate, being extremely rude and arrogant, changing races every few years, to cringe ass over-sexualised lyrics, to being a homewrecker, Ariana is super duper messy YET she enjoys public and media support and is seen as America's sweetheart. Other people have lost their careers for less but Ari gets away with absolutely everything. She publicly admitted that Pete was her rebound guy (she was engaged to him) which is such a shitty thing to do to someone?? Like imagine if the genders were reversed lol
Ariana is a solid example of always seeming like the innocent person even though she's the messy one. Even with her latest album, its pretty obvious who cheated on who but she's been subtle enough with her music to make it seem like her ex cheated on her (she made him sign an NDA upon divorce which in itself is SOOO sketchy like what is she afraid of him revealing????) to imply things like that when you've put the other person in a position where they literally cannot speak for themselves is peak Moon dominant manipulation. She then posted a half assed story on IG asking fans to stop attacking "people in her life",,, its so apparent that she incited the whole thing in a super calculated manner and once she got what she wanted, she tries to pretend to be the good guy whose fans did all the terrible stuff🙄
Selena Gomez, Pushya Stellium, Mercury in Ashlesha atmakaraka (they both lie in Cancer which is Moon ruled)
I wouldn't have included rashi rulership but Selena is an exception. She's the queen of playing the victim and is second only to Meghan Markle. Selena sets her fans on different hate trains every other week. She's very wary of showing support to social causes. She worked with Woody Allen. She treated her best friend & kidney donor like shit, was a terrible gf to Justin Bieber, treated Demi like shit during a really tough period of Demi's life, can't sing at all yet, produced a whole TV show (13RW) that is extremely triggering for people with mental health issues and was advised by MANY to change things but she just didn't??? honestly, if you watch her documentary you can see how she's the most self-absorbed narcissistic person, every single thing has to be about her all the time.
Despite all this, Selena is almost universally loved.
Amy Dunne from Gone Girl is THE best example of a Moon-dominant person and the extent to which they'll go to ruin your life. Amy Dunne was played by Rosamund Pike who has Shravana Sun conjunct Mars
Amy had such a squeaky clean image that it was impossible to convince anybody that she was the sociopath who tried to fake her own death.
Leonardo DiCaprio- Hasta Moon
Leo is a creepy middle aged man who only dates women under 25, lives for the yacht life and spends his free time partying and doing drugs, all of which is fine but these are things that other Hollywood men come under fire for ALL the time, yet Leo is pretty much everyone's favourite, he's the environmentalist humanitarian even tho he's private jetting to his private island to party with models, even tho he's received flak in the last couple of years for dating women much younger than him, its still more of a running gag than anything serious. He hasn't suffered because of it in any way. His reputation is still intact.
John Lennon- Hasta Sun, Shravana Moon
John was a wife beating, child beating, abusive to multiple women, made fun of people with disabilities, pretended to be an anti establishment hippie even though he accepted an MBE from the Queen of England (he returned it years later in protest) and yet he is remembered as a counterculture icon and one of the most talented musicians ever. He was a violent abusive man who preached peace. Although he was a philanderer himself, he was obsessively jealous and possessive towards the women he became involved with. Lennon was an extremely wealthy man who lived a rich lifestyle, but he said that we should "imagine" a world with no possessions or greed. In short, he was a hypocrite. Yet he is still remembered fondly unlike sooo many other figures in history.
Amal Clooney, Shravana Sun conjunct Venus
speaking of hypocrisy, here's Mrs Clooney, the human rights lawyer who wears $34,000 worth of clothes while championing the poor. She attends gala and balls wearing clothes worth thousands of dollars to "raise money for charity" whilst being married to a man who has a net worth of $500 million. Like I'm sure he could just write a cheque?? The Clooneys throw a lot of charity balls/dinners/parties etc as well and its so funny to me because its obvious they're doing it to keep a certain image before the media, whilst also getting all glammed up and having fun, without doing anything tangible to actually help anybody. imagine your job is to represent refugees, unfairly imprisoned heads of state and advise the UN and you also split time between 5 different mansions all over USA and Europe in private jets lol yet Amal enjoys a good reputation for being a girlboss
Gwyneth Paltrow- Rohini Moon
Lady Goop is a nepo baby and has a net worth of $200 million yet she feels the need to make money off of people by selling bullshit wellness products like $55 sex oils, $400 meditation mats, mouth tape, vibrators, theraguns, vitamins, health supplements and god knows what else?? She's one of the many westerners who sell commercial spiritual nonsense to the masses but coming from someone as rich as she is?? like maa'm?? she promotes so much alternate medicine bullshit on her podcast as well, there is obviously real actually helpful alternate herbal treatments/medicine etc etc BUT that's not her focus she talks about getting rectal ozone therapy (not kidding) and shoving garlic in her ears to clear her chakras and spreads misinformation. there are plenty of people in america who can't access health care, imagine how you're endangering them by suggesting that rose quartz and mouth tapes and candles will cure you. She promotes a eating disordered diet as a "healthy one". all in all, she's sketchy but people just make fun of her and don't see her as someone manipulating innocent people into buying super expensive "alternate medicine" from Goop.
Helena Blavatsky- Hasta Moon & Venus
Helena is the co-founder of the Theosophical Society and was an international leader figure in the Theosophical community. She basically helped promote eastern spirituality and philosophy in the West except that she's lied about pretty much her whole life, so its hard to confirm literally anything about her. She died in 1891 so at the time when she was alive there was no way for others to prove whether or not she was lying, they just had to take her word for it. She lied about training with sages in Tibet and lied about her mystical experiences, plagiarised ancient eastern texts to write about her "spiritual discoveries" etc There's plenty of proof that she was nothing but a charlatan yet I find it interesting how she still has a devoted following and even in her lifetime enjoyed a good reputation as a mystic medium lmao
Ranbir Kapoor, Hasta Sun & Mercury, Shravana Moon & Rohini Rising
Ranbir gets a lot of hate as of late but for the most part he has enjoyed a really good reputation despite being a shitty person.
Jeane Dixon- Rohini rising
She was a psychic and astrologer who predicted the JFK assassination.
John Allen Paulos, a mathematician at Temple University, explored the tendency of Dixon and her fans to promote her few correct predictions while ignoring the larger number of incorrect predictions, naming this habit "the Jeane Dixon effect."
Many of Dixon's predictions proved erroneous, such as her claims that a dispute over the islands of Quemoy and Matsu would trigger the start of World War III in 1958, that American labor leader Walter Reuther would run for president of the United States in the 1964 presidential election, that the second child of Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau and his young wife Margaret would be a girl (it was a boy), and that the Soviets would be the first to put men on the Moon. (excerpt from her wiki)
basically she had no real powers but managed to convince others she did, her clients included Ronald and Nancy Reagan lol
Jordan Peterson, Hasta Moon , Rohini Mercury & Shravana Ketu
He is a good example of the worst type of Moon dominant man. He has said among other things:
That class conflict is a natural and eternal struggle for existence that no political or economic revolution could ameliorate. The individual must develop an aggressive, alpha-male attitude in order to climb the social ladder. Peterson is kind of obsessed with power (all Moon dominants are lol) acc to him only a strong will, exercising itself against a contingent and meaningless world — and against the weak — can one ever hope to flourish.
Jordan Peterson endorses the idea that some men are purposely denied sex by women and that conventionally attractive men are 'taking all the sex' from other 'deserving' men. As a result, he suggests that by assigning women to men and pressuring them to 'settle' and have sex with isolated men, they wouldn't be so "angry at God" and commit acts of mass violence and murder. This, as well as criticizing birth control and saying that women would be happier if they just "allow themselves to be transformed by nature into mothers," is dangerous rhetoric that reinforces patriarchal violence against women.
He's a manipulative asshole who propagates his sexist harmful chauvinistic views as pseudoscience or psychology ew
Freud- Rohini Moon, Hasta Mars
i couldn't make a post about Moon dominance and manipulation without mentioning the godfather of promoting his fucked up worldviews as science, Mr Sigmund Freud aka the most successful Moon manipulator who has caused permanent lasting damage to society
Sigmund believed that homosexuality in men is neurotic but not particularly problematic. Lesbianism, however, he considered a gateway to mental illness.
This (according to Sigmund) is because only men have moral sense. We all evolve from apes, so no human is born with it. But boys acquire morality through the castration complex—the fear that their fathers will emasculate them for their misbehavior.
Having nothing obvious to neuter, girls and women are essentially amoral, lying and conniving to get what they want. Girls must be guided through civilized life by a father, and a woman by a husband. And because they choose not to marry, lesbians remain loose cannons, fundamentally untrustworthy and unstable.
His daughter Anna was his closest intellectual and emotional companion. Yet she was a lesbian.
Freud taught that lesbianism is always the fault of the father and is curable by psychoanalysis.
Freud cautioned followers that analysis is an erotic relationship. Analyst and patient together must scrutinize the amorous feelings that flow between them. This being the case, by rules he asked his followers to honor, Freud could not attempt to cure his own daughter’s lesbianism.
he also overgeneralized a lot of his “findings” such as the oedipus complex to apply to all people, which was harmful in the early stages of the formation of psychology. today most of his theories are disproven and widely considered problematic. Freud was obsessed with sex and made everything about sex (Moon men are sex addicts and every Moon man I've mentioned so far has a weird relationship with women)
he is credited with being the first psychologist to actually listen to women's problems but when he did listen to them, and many of them told them of their SA experiences, he changed the narrative to "women want to screw their daddies so they have these dreams/fantasies of sexual encounters in childhood" (the Electra/Oedipus Complex) to sell his books. He LIED basically, he manipulated the truth into something disgusting.
Freud is credited with making psychology a legitimate field and for it gaining attention worldwide but he literally manipulated, lie, overgeneralised and in general spewed a lot of toxic nonsense in order to get attention, like Gwyneth with Goop or Helena with Theosophy.
Sobhita Dhulipala- Rohini stellium
Sobhita like most others bought a brand new face for herself yet masquerades under the "im not like other girls, i read" nonsense, she talks about acting, art and self love like she's some committed thespian when girlie cannot act to save her life. she says she does not work out just cleans her house and does chores to stay fit :) bc she's not like other shallow actresses, she does her own chores :) compared to most other people on this list she's harmless but I find her super pick me and pretentious
Moon dominant people are very good at picking up on lies, and understanding human behaviour because they're liars themselves lol, it takes one to know one.
Azealia Banks- Rohini Sun
she's truly unhinged af and a very vile person but some of the people she's called out are also terrible people and tbh her insults are so poetic lmfao
dont get me wrong i think she's a terrible person but there is some truth to some of the things she says which is what i meant by how Moon dominant people understand human behaviour. also Moon dominant people are HATERS dont expect them to say anything nice about anyone lol
I had a friend who would deliberately compliment every other girl we were friends with (Rita is sooo pretty, Lily is so stunning etc etc) but would never say ANYTHING nice about me EVER and when others complimented me she'd act like she didn't hear it or something lmao (it was wild) and one day I straight up asked how come you never say anything nice to me and she said "oh I didn't know you needed compliments from me, I thought you got enough validation from others, I didn't know you were desperate for more" 😭😭😭😭LIKE GIRL WHATTT, honestly making these posts and exposing the dark nasty side of Moon dominant people is helping me heal from all the toxic abuse I endured at the hands of this shitty girl and some others ughhhh that's the reason why these posts have more personal anecdotes than any other post i've made lol
Oprah Winfrey, Shravana Sun & Venus
Her show was pure exploitation of peoples problems and also gave a platform to the equally exploitative Dr. Oz, the king of fake science, and Dr, Phil, the king of fake psychology.
It's a well known fact that she's friends with Harvey Weinstein & Jeffery Epstein despite being a "supporter" of the Me Too movement. Not to mention, she gave a platform to the phony Michael Jackson accusers from Leaving Neverland (do the research, they're liars) while turning a blind eye to the actual sexual predators of Hollywood, like Weinstein.
Her style of journalism seems to favour the shock value of a breaking news scandal rather than actually seeking the truth.
Several celebrities have come forward to talk about how poorly they were treated on the show. Oprah loves to relish in the misery of other ppl and ALWAYS makes others deeply uncomfortable with the straightup rude and hurtful questions she asks them.
Ellen DeGeneres, Shravana Sun & Venus
the fact that two of the most sociopathic TV hosts to ever grace television has identical placements is so telling. Ellen has been exposed in the last couple of years for being a terrible person to work with and treating her guests like shit. What I find even more interesting is the fact that the person who sort of initially exposed Ellen for being a manipulative liar is Dakota Johnson who has Hasta Sun & Mars, when I tell you that Moon dominant people deeply understand human behaviour and the psychology behind people acting the way they do, this is what I mean, it takes a Moon dominant to understand the manipulation of another one.
Kristen Bell, Hasta Moon
she probably has one of the most toxic marriages ever and yet speaks of it so glowingly and always talks about "how much work" it is to stay married like girl💀💀maybe exit the marriage then?? she has such a sweetheart image but she has admitted that she gives her children non-alcoholic beer, locks them in their room at night, makes them shower with her to "save water", talks to them about their father's addiction and their sex life??
"We make funny videos but we also go to couple's therapy because we disagree on 99.9 percent of issues," she said at the time. "There are days when I'm completely sick of him, and there are days when he is completely sick of me. But we've chosen to love one another and to be a team. We've learned how to communicate and argue in a really healthy, respectful way."- Kristen said this about her marriage like girlie nothing about it sounds healthy, if its this much work then it probably isn't love lol
Kate Winslet, Hasta Sun, Moon & Rising
Winslet has worked with predators like Woody Allen, Harvey Weinstein & Roman Polanski and after Me Too, she shifted her narrative as public opinion regarding these men, whose crimes and accusations have been well documented for decades, has thoroughly shifted to the point where associating with them is no longer good for her and would like to join the right side of history. She & Leo have partied on Jeffrey Epstein's private island as well and she's one the many signatories who signed a petition to free Roman Polanski ewww
This is one example of how image conscious Moon dominant people are, she has no moral compass and had no issue working with all these predators for decades but once it became apparent that she wouldn't benefit from associating with them anymore she's suddenly all "omg terrible men i wish id known better" lol what a liar
She also played a sociopathic Nazi in the movie The Reader
Josephine Baker, Rohini Sun
Josephine Baker was a dancer known for her banana skirt dancing. Later in life, she adopted 12 children from different ethnicities and spent the rest of her life raising them. She is remembered as an icon and for her activism but her children have come out to describe how abusive she was to them.
During her participation in the civil rights movement, Baker began to adopt children, forming a family which she often referred to as "The Rainbow Tribe". Baker wanted to prove that "children of different ethnicities and religions could still be brothers." She often took the children with her cross-country, and when they were at Château des Milandes, she arranged tours so visitors could walk the grounds and see how natural and happy the children were in "The Rainbow Tribe". Her estate featured hotels, a farm, rides, and the children singing and dancing for the audience. She charged an admission fee to visitors who entered and partook in the activities, which included watching the children play.
She created dramatic backstories for them, picking them with clear intent in mind: at one point, she wanted and planned to adopt a Jewish baby, but she settled for a French one. She also raised them in different religions in order to further her model for the world, taking two children from Algeria and raising one child as a Muslim and raising the other child as a Catholic. One member of the Tribe, Jean-Claude Baker, said: "She wanted a doll".
Baker forced Jarry to leave the château and live with his adoptive father, Jo Bouillon, in Argentina, at the age of 15, after discovering that he was gay. Moïse died of cancer in 1999, and Noël was diagnosed with schizophrenia and is in a psychiatric hospital as of 2009. Jean-Claude Baker, the unofficial addition to the Rainbow Tribe, committed suicide in 2015, aged 71.
Angelina Jolie, Rohini Sun
Jolie was clearly inspired by Josephine Baker. she adopted children from different ethnicities and even bought a Chateau in France to raise them in (just like Baker did). For many years Jolie received a lot of flak for her unconventional parenting, like frequently travelling, homeschooling all her kids and not giving them a bedtime or any kind of stable daily routine. I can't comment on it too much because there's not that much about their personal life on the internet but what I do find very interesting is how Jolie has always used the paparazzi to push a certain image and stay relevant. We know that paps only come when you call them, even Beyonce never gets papped, so its very much possible to live a lowkey life. Angelina gets papped absolutely all the time for the last 20yrs, it was especially bizarre because it was obvious that she was trying to shed the "homewrecker image" by always being photographed with her kids doing mom things and its a bit problematic to think that she's using her children as pap fodder to push an agenda. Again, I think Brad is an abusive person but he often spoke back in the day about his desire to keep the children out of the public eye but Angie had to shed her weird punk goth who kissed her brother and was addicted to bad men and drugs image so she tried to present herself as the kind humanitarian and loving mother, I'm not saying that she isn't those things, except that girlie will make sure the paps are around to photograph her doing these things like she called the paps to her daughter's first day of college bro likeeee
Here's a very old article about how smart she is at crafting her image. Again this is not in and of itself a bad thing but it's kind of bizarre to realise how image conscious people can be and how something that seems so "real" and "natural" is actually a well calculated move on their part.
Angelina also played the sociopath Lisa Rowe in the movie Girl, Interrupted. people often associate this character with her Revati Moon but i assure you this is all on her Rohini Sun
Russell Peters - Hasta Sun
Russell is really good at studying people, accents, mannerisms etc which is what makes him a really good comedian but he's also fckn rude and disgusting from time to time.
Honestly Moon dominant men always spew the most vile shit, they talk about people especially women in THE most disgusting way. actual psychopaths ew especially the cocky self assured way in which they say all this bullshit???
Errol Morris- Shravana Sun
he is a documentary filmmaker whose work focuses on the epistemology of the subject, he's obsessed with human nature and trying to understand why people do what they do, all of his docus focus on vvv unusual people, death row prisoners, defence secretary instrumental in the vietnam war, insurance frauds, a man who designs death machines, pet cemeteries etc Morris focuses on people who are questionable to say the least, he tries to humanize people perceived as evil or bad (Moon dominant af lol bc who else would be interested in the motives of bad ppl??)
This preoccupation with human nature is deeply tied to the nature of Lunar people. They have a need to understand "motivations" and what drives people to do what they do. There is an innate tendency to pathologize or pick apart behaviour. This isn't inherently a bad thing but it is something I have noticed among Lunar people.
James Randi- Rohini rising
He was a magician and skeptic who spent his life exposing other people and their paranormal and pseudoscientific claims.
Moon dominant people are skeptical of everything and the least likely to believe in anything, they're always looking for the truth because they deeply understand human ugliness and believe everybody else is like that (they see themselves reflected in others, which is to say that if they're capable of it, then so must others).
Roman Polanski- Hasta Rising
pedophile and child rapist Polanski has directed movies like Rosemary's Baby, Chinatown, The Palace, The Pianist etc,, all of his movies have heavy elements of deceit, lies, manipulation etc all of his characters are looking for the truth.
Claire had mentioned in her video about wealth as to how Rohini (Venus is domiciled in Taurus) (Moon exalts in Rohini) creates contentment and this leads to stagnation because dissatisfaction is what creates growth. If someone is content where they are they decay. I think this can be broadly applied to all 3 Moon naks because they have no other motives, nothing to dry them so they start rotting on the inside and doing terrible, horrible, evil things. Venus and Moon embodies the ugliness of humanity.
Josef Mengele- Hasta Moon
He was a Nazi doctor who conducted abhorrent and deadly medical experiments on the prisoners at Auschwitz and administered the gas to gas chambers. He was nicknamed "Angel of Death"
Lenin- Shravana Moon
if you're familiar with the history of the soviet union you will know that Lenin wasnt exactly a sweetheart
Heinrich Himmler-Hasta Sun, Shravana Rising and Ketu in Rohini
he was a prominent Nazi leader who is "credited" with "designing the Holocaust"
Edward Teller- Rohini Moon
This is the guy who betrayed Oppenheimer and is called "the father of the hydrogen bomb". he later expressed guilt over his involvement in the dropping of atom bombs over hiroshima and nagasaki
Henry Kissinger - Rohini Sun & mercury
he was a warmongering asshole who i hope is rotting in hell. he's one of the worst human beings to have ever existed due to the sheer scale and capacity of crimes he enabled and the millions of people who died as a result. i have extensively talked about how Moon dominant people lack empathy, they literally do not care about others, they are selfish to the point where its actually disgusting and pathetic and this guy is one of the worst examples
During the 1968 presidential election he was in the Johnson administration but wanted to get in good with Nixon. So he leaked information about peace talks with North Vietnam to Nixon. They then went on to use this information to sabotage the peace talks and in turn the election.
He committed treason to extend the Vietnam War, ultimately by seven years. That alone makes him a rare breed of terrible. But it’s also damning because it shows how he ultimately believe in anything other than that he deserves to be close to power. He was willing to play games with millions of human lives over a job. And he would have been in the Humphrey administration if Nixon lost, so it was just a job he wanted more. He didn’t care about fighting communism, the rule of law, patriotism, anything. His death toll alone puts him on a short list of the worst people to ever live, but most of the people on there did what they did for an ideology.
He’s also been described as “the Forrest Gump of war crimes.” He just shows up for no good reason in the history of so many atrocities. Often he ordered them, but he also installed dictators who would carry out genocides. There’s worse people in history, but none who have been involved in so many separate crimes.
just read anything about this vile shitty man and you will understand the kind of cruelty and apathy Moon dominant people are capable of.
moon dominant people are "good" with political & military strategy because they dont care about anybody's well being except their own lol
one time i spoke to a Moon dominant guy and he said that there's no such thing as altruism or selflessness and that everybody behaves in their self interest, i found that very cynical and disturbing and he said even people who do charity or appear to be kind are only doing it because they want others to see them that way and that really says more about the nature of Moon dominant people than anything else. he also said he loved attention of any kind and would do anything to trigger people just so they'd react and give him attention lol basically he admitted to having sociopathic tendencies. He was Rohini Moon. imagine being so morally bankrupt and soulless that you cant believe there's goodness in this world or that people are good with no agenda lol I feel bad for people who have to live life being that bitter, imagine rotting on the inside like that
Herman Kahn- Hasta Moon
He was a military strategist and developed the nuclear strategy of USA during the cold war. which is to say his entire job revolved around manipulation. He is quoted as saying:
"At the minimum, an adequate deterrent for the United States must provide an objective basis for a Soviet calculation that would persuade them that, no matter how skillful or ingenious they were, an attack on the United States would lead to a very high risk if not certainty of large-scale destruction to Soviet civil society and military forces." 💀💀💀(avg moon dominant man be like)
In Kahn’s book, the Doomsday Machine is an example of the sort of deterrent that appeals to the military mind but that is dangerously destabilizing. Since nations are not suicidal, its only use is to threaten.
ok thats it for now besties whewww
i am not claiming that all moon dominant people are terrible people so if you have these placements dont take it to heart. i do however think that the dark side of the moon dominant native is truly terrifying. all i wanted to do was shed light on that.

the ask about OC names got me thinking about their voices, too, bc i can hear each of them Incredibly Clearly. but i don't think i've ever described their cadences here. so:
devin has the kind of deep, rough voice you might associate with a grizzled sailor or coal miner. despite being a skilled liar, she is Dogshit at modulating her tone to be helpful or comforting. vocal training might make her sound more """feminine""" but it wouldn't fix the cranky ornery bitch thing, so she's not bothering. sometimes people who have good reason to fear the rich will imprint upon devin in part Because she sounds like such a bitch, which she finds both vexing and puzzling.
sol has a very practiced, smooth, generic american (tachnin) accent. i'd say hollywood but it's even more generic than that. she speaks every word with precision and an ear for how it sounds. HOWEVER, the more she hates someone, the more transatlantic femme fatale her accent gets. devin has noticed this and thinks it's Unbelievably Funny.
ruby has a working-class irish (oichen) accent that has not diluted at All in the many many years she's lived in tachni. she flatly refuses to code-switch for anyone, even though her day job is a yuppie corporate gig that involves talking to rich people. literally the Only Time she'll try to sound more tachnin is if she's trying to help someone who's struggling to understand her.
nova speaks in her upper register with the cadence of a stereotypical peppy american cheerleader or kindergarten teacher. lots! of! verbal! exclamation! points!!! :DDD when she needs to get a point across to someone, she gets REALLY sweet and gentle and condescending. okay, baby, let's go through this step by step to make sure you're seeing what i'm seeing....
the ONE exception to this is when she's alone with devin. at which point she drops into rosamund pike's voice in gone girl.
the author unironically finds this DEEPLY romantic.
#bitchy mean divorcees can have little a sharing the true self. as a treat.#original fiction#original fiction quartet#devin#sol#ruby#nova#ok. now i gotta drive#ETA u can of course read their dialogue however u want. please do not feel confined to fantasy america. shudders.

Never having seen the 2005 Pride and Prejudice, we watched it tonight.
It appears in all my ravings of the book and the 1995 mini over the year, the following plot points missed Sean:
Who Wickham is.
That Darcy sabotaged Jane and Bingley.
That Darcy unfucks himself.
Y'all, he cried during the second proposal scene. He does not cry like I cry at movies. This is an achievement.
Many other achievements:
Having Collins having a sweet face and terrible haircut and just being LIKE that.
Collins coming up to Darcy from behind and being SO MUCH SMALLER.
Collins wanting to sit next to his wife. In his weird way, he's a dutiful husband.
CHARLOTTE I LOVE YOU.
That's it. They did right by my girl.
YOU TOO MARY.
I did not know that Donald Sutherland was Mr. Bennett, and my god, he's perfect. A layered performance with kindness, compassion, sarcasm, and a little bit of asshole. Who clearly has affection for his wife. Which I argue the lack of is a weakness in the 1995 mini.
And, Mrs. Bennett in this is much more layered in her approach to everything. Still a bit crass in all the ways and shown to be very unlike her husband in many ways, but not as...flittery as the 1995 version, if that makes sense.
Look, I love the 1995 mini, but the way the Bennetts were portrayed as Mr. Bennett hating his wife and Mrs. Bennett being constantly dizzy with the womanly concerns doesn't match the tone of the book at all, imho.
Bingley is a golden retriever, as it should be.
I love they were like, "We need the most ethereally beautiful person in the world to be Jane. Someone even more strikingly beautiful than Kiera Knightly." I assume Rosamund Pike just appeared from the heavens on gossamer wings.
The dancing scenes were beautiful.
I have many, many more thoughts, but that's good for now. It is an absolutely beautiful adaptation of an absolutely immortal story, and I love it so much.
WAIT ONE MORE: Lizzie's ruffle on the collar calling back to Darcy's neckcloths when they were having moments of connection; ESPECIALLY IN THE LETTER SCENE when Lizzie finds that Lydia has run away. They're both in black. She's got the white collar ruffle. No doubt Lizzie is certain that if she'd accepted Mr. Collins, Lydia would not have been allowed to go to Brighton because she would have secured the house for her sisters through her marriage. And Darcy, fearing another young girl being tricked by Wickham, feeling a duty to fix things because he could have stopped this by just being like, "THIS DUDE'S A CREEP."
Anyway, done now. (YES THE HAND FLEX I KNOW)

a rather violent or might be crack prompt ; Melissa had a real bad morning. From her house and on her way to Abbott, all she encountered are misfortune, the barista didn't even made her coffee right and cursed to she's just centimeters away from punching someone. The reader, however is excited for her new job and parked on Melissa's favorite parking spot [she didn't know it is Mel's parking spot yet]. Ava was introducing the new teacher in the break room when Melissa burst in and asked who owns the jeep wrangler, the reader smiled sweetly and said it's her and hi. Which made Melissa even more pissed because she's so done and it's not even 9 in the morning and goes like "yeah, so it's you? well, Say hi to this" and punched the new teacher in the face breaking her nose lololol. The whole Abbott staff was GAGGED. But later on she apologize and the new teacher is very understanding. Ava was thankful because she said she cannot go to the court again, because apparently she had to go twice already that week. Lol. This is crazy, I know.
Alrighty! Here’s one of the ones that’s on the list! Anon it may be crazy but so am I lol. Crazy for our favourite redhead. This one is short but sweet. Not edited in the slightest and I hope you like it!
On another note: I’m thinking of expanding the area of who I write for. Because while I’m completely obsessed with Lisa Ann Walter (she’s my favourite), I also like the thirteenth Doctor and Beverly (Jodie Whittaker), Misty Quigley and Marilyn Thornhill(Christina Ricci), Agatha Harkness and Eve Fletcher(Kathryn Hahn), and Moraine Sedai (Rosamund Pike). Let me know if any of those interest you!
The Stolen Parking Spot
Warnings: Feisty Mel (although that’s just regular Mel lol), reader gets punched
Words: 1.56
Melissa is having one of those mornings when nothing goes right. She forgot to set her alarm which caused her to wake up at 7 instead of 6, which then caused her to quickly have a shower and not dry her hair. Which then caused her to get distracted and forget her lunch and coffee. Which was sad since she was looking forward to those leftovers. She quickly stopped at the coffee shop down the street from Abbott to get a coffee and they screwed it up. When she finally got to Abbott she saw that someone even parked in her parking spot. ”THIS FUCKING MORNING!” Melissa yelled in her car. She had to park in the very last spot, furthest from the door. On the way to the door she tripped and dropped her screwed up coffee. She swears that she’s gonna punch someone.
She looked at the car that’s in her spot and sees it’s a jeep wrangler, who the bloody hell can afford a jeep wrangler on our paycheck. Melissa stomps her way to the break room and looks at the time, 7:50, 10 minutes until school starts. When she got to the break room she slammed the door open and yelled, “who owns the Jeep wrangler in the parking lot?!!?” and all eyes turn to her, including a new pair of eyes, yours.
You were excited to start your new job today. You turned your alarm clock off and looked at the time, 6:15am. Perfect! You got in the shower, then after brushed your teeth and hair, dried your hair then applied some eyeshadow and lip balm, not a lot but a thin layer. You packed your lunch and then set off to Abbott. You quickly stopped at the coffee shop down the street from the school and got an amazing cup of coffee from there, you might have to return back here to get another. Just as you were about to get in your car, you see this beautiful redhead stomp up into the shop, she looks like she’s having a rough morning you think, you hope it turns around for her. You park in the parking lot then walk up to the doors and enter. You meet the principal and she brings you to the break room to meet everyone. “Everyone! This is y/n y/l/n! Our new 6th grade teacher, since the other one…nvm what happened there, she’s gone and y/n here is the new one.” Ava replies. Janine and Jacob immediately go up and introduce themselves to you just as another teacher storms in here, “who owns the Jeep wrangler in the parking lot?!!?” And everyone, including you, turns to look at her, and you raise your hand.
“Hi, I own the Jeep Wrangler, I’m y/n, it’s wonderful to meet you!” You tell her and she looks pissed.
“Yeah, so it’s yours?” She asks and you nod. “Well say hi to this!” She says and punches you in the face and you tumble back into Jacob and Janine and your nose starts bleeding. Everyone looks at Melissa and you in shock, everyone’s jaw dropped. Ava rushes to hand you napkins for your nose and then Janine quickly rushes you to the nurse.
Back in the break room, all eyes are on Melissa, Ava quickly rushes out, not wanting to get involved. Barb is the first one to speak, she gets up and makes her way to Melissa.
“Melissa, why did you punch that poor innocent woman?” She asks her, and it seems all of Melissa’s anger left her body already and looks guilty.
“I didn’t mean to. I just had a really bad morning and she parked in my spot and I tripped and lost my coffee.” She says and at that, Jacob quickly makes her a cup of coffee and hands it to her. “Thanks Jacob.” She says and Jacob almost trips when she tells him that since there’s no added insult.
“I should go and apologise to that girl. Who is she anyway? I've never seen her before.”
“Oh that’s y/n, the new sixth grade teacher, it’s her first day.” Jacob says and Melissa looks even more guilty.
“First day? Oh great. First day and gets punched in the face, great welcome.” Melissa says and Janine returns at that moment.
“Nurse is looking at her nose and thinks it’s a broken nose but just a little bit broken.” She says and Melissa facepalms.
“Janine, do you mind taking my class for a bit? I’m gonna go apologise to her.” Melissa says and Janine immediately agrees.
“I can watch over her sixth grade class.” Jacob says. “I have a prep period.”
“Ok ya, you do that.” Melissa says defeated and then she goes to the nurse’s office. She walks in and sees the nurse finishing up the bandage on your nose. “Hi.” She says to you after the nurse said you're good to go and you look over to her with wide eyes. “Don’t worry, I’m not going to punch you again. I wanted to apologise.” She tells you after you get off the bed.
“Oh it’s alright, no hard feelings. I promise I won’t park in your spot again.” You tell her and then thank the nurse and then you leave, Melissa trailing behind you.
“Wait a second, can I talk to you for a minute please.” She says and you turn around to look at her.
“The bell rang like 5 minutes ago and I got a room full of students waiting for me and I’m sure you got one too.” You tell her.
“Well actually Jacob is looking after your class right now and Janine is watching mine while I came to apologise to you.”
“Like I said, no hard feelings. You’re very protective of your spot, I get it.” You tell her and she sighs.
“It’s not about the spot, it would have been fine if all the other things that happened to me this morning didn’t happen. I would have still been annoyed that you parked in my spot but I wouldn’t have punched you.” She tells you and you look at her and remember the woman outside the coffee shop this morning.
“Wait, did you stop at the coffee shop down the street?” You ask her and she nods. “I saw you walking in there as I was about to get in my car. You looked pretty pissed, I silently hoped your morning turned around but I guess not.” You tell her.
“Ya I’m not having the best morning, I forgot to set my alarm so I woke up an hour late. I could dry my hair since I didn’t have time, I forgot my lunch and coffee which I was looking forward too. And the coffee shop didn’t get my coffee right. And after I had to park in the furthest spot, I tripped and dropped my coffee.” She tells you and you stare at her with wide eyes.
“Wow, no wonder you punched me. Sounds like quite the morning.” You tell her and she chuckles a bit. Ava comes around the corner and passes you guys.
“Well like I said, I wanted to apologise for punching you, and also to properly greet you to Abbott.” She tells you and you smile at her.
“Like I said, no hard feelings but thank you, I’m not gonna sue or anything.” You say and Ava hears that and immediately comes over to you.
“You’re not gonna sue?” She asks and you shake your head. “Oh thank you, cause girl I can’t go to court again this week. I’ve already gone twice this week.” She tells you and walks away. You go to question her but Melissa tells you not to bother.
“She’s already gone twice? It’s Wednesday.” You say and Melissa laughs.
“I’m not that surprised.” She tells you.
“By the way.” You tell her. “I never got your name.”
“It’s Melissa.” She tells you and holds out a hand for you to shake.
You shake her hand. “Y/n.” You tell her and she giggles.
“Well it’s lovely to meet you y/n.” She tells you with a smile.
“Likewise.” You tell her.
“Well I should probably go. I’m pretty much the only one that can keep my kids calm. I’m surprised that Janine hasn’t burst out of the room yet.” She says and you laugh. Just then Janine bursts out of the room.
“Melissa, your students are so hyper.” Janine says and catches her breath.
“Wow, the timing.” You tell her and she laughs.
“To properly make it up to you, how about you sit at the table with Barb and I at lunch?” She asks you and you immediately agree. “Well I’ll see you at lunch then.” She tells you and you nod. You then proceed to go to your class and Melissa goes to save Janine.
*4 years later*
Melissa is standing holding your hands in front of both your families. “I can’t believe that we’re finally getting married. And to think it started with a stolen parking spot and a punch to the face.” She says as she starts her wedding vows and you giggle. She smiles at you as she hears the laugh that she fell in love with.

me n bailey watched Saltburn today. thots:
it's really long and the first half kinda dawdles at points but oh my god the entire second half is nonstop insanity
it is a comedy and it made me laugh a lot but not in a "haha, that's funny!" way, but a "haha, hey, what the fuck? what the fuck? what the fuck?" way
Rosamund Pike is fucking hilarious here, there's one scene in particular where she delivers like 3-4 lines in a row that had me whiteknuckling my chair trying not to scream-laugh in the theater
the very last scene in particular did have Bailey scream-laughing in the theater because she's a nurse and the medical inaccuracies were hilarious
basically you want to watch this one in theaters with someone else who you can grip + shake the arm of and make wide-open eye contact with while silently screaming whenever something batshit happens
there is a five minute uncensored shot with a static camera angle of a man cuddling, fondling, and then fucking a freshly dug grave
like, the dirt

Variety's Actors on Actors lineup has been announced.
Surprising absolutely no one, BarbenHeimer unites again with a Cillian Murphy and Margot Robbie team-up.
A Zodiac/Avengers reunion with Robert Downey Jr. (“Oppenheimer”) & Mark Ruffalo (“Poor Things”)
A THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA reunion with Emily Blunt (“Oppenheimer”) & Anne Hathaway (“Eileen”)
An ALOHA reunion between Emma Stone (“Poor Things”) & Bradley Cooper (“Maestro”)
*B-Coop, you may not get an actor nod, but you most definitely deserves Best Director recognition for MAESTRO.
EUPHORIA costars Colman Domingo (“Rustin,” “The Color Purple”) & Jacob Elordi (“Priscilla,” “Saltburn”)
*While Colman was excellent in RUSTIN, and I would love for him to get nominated for that, THE COLOR PURPLE as the performance for me.
SHAME reunion with Carey Mulligan (“Maestro”) & Michael Fassbender (“The Killer”)
*Carey is sensational in MAESTRO and I hope she and her team don't push her for Supporting because she is quite frankly the lead. She even has top billing over Bradley Cooper. He has always asserted that the film is more about Lenny and Felicia and it's more her story.
MORE ACTORS. MORE AWARDS SEASON TALK
A THE KIDS ARE ALL RIGHT reunion between Annette Bening (“Nyad”) & Julianne Moore (“May December”)
*May December wasn't to my liking and surprisingly Charles Melton was wonderful. But I'm all about NYAD and if Bening isn't nominated for Best Actress it will be a crime.
Disney Princesses Halle Bailey (“The Little Mermaid”, “The Color Purple”) & Rachel Zegler (“The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes”)
*The struggle to hide that pregnancy is real.
Jeffrey Wright (“American Fiction”) & Taraji P. Henson (“The Color Purple”)
*He's the lead in AMERICAN FICTION but he gave RUSTIN the punch it needed in his small role.
Greta Lee (“Past Lives”) & Andrew Scott (“All of Us Strangers”)
*ALL OF US STRANGERS was very affecting. I thought it too navel-gazing at first, but it blossomed over me much later.
Natalie Portman (“May December”) & Paul Mescal (“All of Us Strangers”)
*Mescal was in the film CARMEN directed by and conceived by Portman's philandering husband Benjamin Millipied. The screening happened before his affair allegations came out, but after the Q&A someone commented to me that Benjamin and his lead Melissa Barrera looked too comfortable with each other and bet they had slept together at least once. I just chalked it up to him being French. But maybe?
Alden Ehrenreich (“Fair Play,” “Oppenheimer”) & Da’Vine Joy Randolph (“The Holdovers”)
*I've been a fan of Ehrenreich since the wretched BEAUTIFUL CREATURES so I love all the attention and acclaim he's getting. But male voters hate weak male characters (which is why I'm worried that Leonardo DiCaprio will be snubbed for his performance in KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON. Every man I've spoken to about it hated his character - not because of his actions - but because he was weak and stupid. And Leo's character has nothing on Ehrenreich's soppy Luke. There's a meme about people being weak in the knees and needing to stand up. Nah, Luke needed to sit his ass down.).
However, Da'Vine Joy Randolph seems to be a lock. The trio of Randolph, Paul Giamatti and Dominic Sessa in THE HOLDOVERS deserve any nominations they may receive.
My fantasy Best Supporting Actress list is
Da'vine Joy Randolph (THE HOLDOVERS)
Danielle Brooks (THE COLOR PURPLE)
Jodie Foster (NYAD)
Rosamund Pike (SALTBURN)
Penelope Cruz (FERRARI)
*If Apple is running Lily Gladstone as Supporting (which they shouldn't because she's a lead), then I would swap out Foster for Gladstone. If Gladstone isn't in Supporting, then Cara Jade Myers as Anna in KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON would be my swap.

forgiving and needing to be forgiven
Moiraine threatened Lan with a serious violation: she threatened to have Alanna force a bond on him. Lan could have chosen to walk away after that. Instead, he chose to consider this--and the rest of her shitty behavior--in context of Ishamael's assault on her and her own subsequent serious illness. He chose to forgive her - and we see, in the beach scene, that Moiraine makes it clear she doesn't expect his forgiveness.
When they come back together, choosing to open their hearts to each other once more--and emphasis is on Lan's wince as his heart reopens to her; it is his freely made choice, but it has a cost, there are scars left by what they've both been through and how Moiraine has treated him--the magic circles them and it is beautiful. Freely choosing to understand someone you love is hurting and commit to forgiving their mistakes and wrongs is a powerful thing; it is what makes long-term relationships possible. It is a kind of common magic - how people can grow, change, fuck up, and choose each other again and again. It is beautiful.
Loving someone, sharing a life together, and knowing them so well for decades--whether platonically or romantically--is one of the most beautiful things an adult human can choose to do. It is hard work; it is pure joy; it is the cultivation of grace for another and their failings and wrongs and the humility to recognize your own failings and admit your wrongs.
It's understanding and being understood, even the parts of you that aren't pretty, even the parts of them that aren't pretty. It's caring for someone when they're sick--not only temporarily, but even in chronic ways that wear upon you, that motivate the person to be hurtful toward you, like Moiraine was sick in s2--it's experiencing the vulnerability of receiving that kind of care even when you're difficult and unsightly. And every day it is a choice.
Moiraine can choose to forgive Siuan in the same way that Lan chose to forgive her. The same ethics and emotional truths apply and the reasons for Moiraine to choose to do so go back even further, are rooted even deeper, than Lan and her and their platonic love.
Lan forgives Moiraine at this point in the story because their relationship is very important, but it isn't Moraine's big true love romance - Siuan is. Their narrative arc is just gonna be more fireworks and grand imo. Siuan wrongs her at this point in the narrative (and Moraine wronged Siuan by deceiving her for six months!) because their resolution is being reserved for later. It's probably going to come along with another, even higher stakes resolution in the larger conflict, and it is going to be gorgeous.
Rosamund Pike didn't write Sophie Okonedo a passionate personal letter asking Sophie to play her wife--and Sophie didn't agree to that!-- just so it could end this way. That doesn't make "behind the scenes" sense or narrative arc sense.

First limited series podcast I listened to was Edith, with Rosamund Pike, Clark Gregg and Stephen Root among others, all well established names just like Jon Hamm & John Slattery, and it was really entertaining. I'm also old enough to remember when movie stars only made movies, yet now they're all over streaming platforms making tv shows.
I don't understand why people are so bent out of shape over this perceived disrespect to Taylor, especially when iirc, Audible is owned by Amazon
OH MY GOD. I loved Edith. it was so fun to listen to! Clark Gregg and Rosamund Pike were both SO good at it (i'm also realizing now that's where i knew her from when i watched gone girl)
i think a couple things are happening here. a lot of people don't really fuck with audio formats. They don't know what to expect from it. also let down they won't be able to See Him. i think, like a couple other people have pointed out, people look down on audio formats and don't see it as A Real Role.
but as someone who enjoys the audio format. I think this is absolutely wonderful and i can not wait.

saltburn x shakespeare, a character and costume analysis 🧚🏼♂️🕸️🍾
because this movie isn’t that good, but god is it pretty. this is not an attempt to make the film appear more brilliant than it is—the script and direction does that just fine without my help. it is, however, a testament to the costume design and my own adoration of shakespearean influence in media. so many spoilers under the cut.
despite being the romeo type, elordi’s felix is cast as juliet, embodying clare danes’ iconic 1996 costume. but while juliet’s wings and white dress signal purity and innocence, felix’s wings are more ‘the fallen angel’ by alexander canabel. he is also the only main character not directly drawing from the party’s theme, dressing from the wrong play. considering he ends up dead, maybe this wasn’t the best plan—stick to the dress code folks. his manner of death (poisoning) also matches the death of romeo, driven to suicide at the supposed loss of his lover.
farleigh is bottom, the hapless (terrible) actor who ends up the butt of a fairy’s practical joke and complicated politics. despite being in the family, farleigh is always an outsider, a donkey in fairy court. this costume is also hilariously literal when you think abt it
rosamund pike beautifully embodies the fairy queen titania, which i think is perfect for her: someone who appears regal and untouchable, but easily succumbs to pride and petty gossip at the slightest opportunity.
barry keoghan’s oliver quick is our robin goodfellow, or puck. puck is the one who moves all the pieces in ‘midsummer,’ from enchanting the lovers to cursing bottom, just as oliver is the mastermind behind the downfall of the cattons. it’s also a visual fake-out, as the deer antlers give the impression of him being a prey animal out of his element, when really he’s the most in control.
while less explicitly shakespearean, venetia’s spiderweb dress, dotted with dewdrops and complete with a spider hanging down the open back is a reference to verses of ‘midsummer’ such as act 2 scene 1: ‘and i serve the fairy queen, to dew her orbs upon the green,’ and act 2 scene 2, ‘weaving spiders come not here,’ all lines spoken by fairies in service of titania.
#but tbh this movie isn’t that good guys#character analysis#a midsummer night's dream#saltburn#costume analysis#costuming#jacob elordi#barry keoghan#rosamund pike#alison oliver#archie madekwe#shakespeare#romeo and juliet
