I think people need to listen to BTS' Pied Piper from time to time coz they are way too invested in the lives of people who will most probably never even know about their existence. Seeing people finding miniscule hints and meanings from any member's single sentence is just 🤯
Hi anon!
Listening to Pied Piper is always a good idea! And yes, the message is very important as well.

I am simply obsessed with Charlie's delivery of this monologue. His understated acting at its best
#charlie cox#daredevil#matt murdock#it's less about the content of the monologue and more about charlie's delivery that makes this my top 3 fave scenes in dd s3#also just a great example of how charlie didn't/doesn't need to shout or scream just to give a good performance#to me it feels like a lot of others use being loud and shouting dialogue as a crutch 😅#also they gave matt the least amount of monologues/scenery chewing scenes like they gave fisk/frank/karen yet charlie still killed it 😌#he's just so good at understated acting

this is so stupid but i always have fun imagining the milgram characters watching their own/others mvs and seeing their reactions, especially for MeMe
That’s not stupid at all, thank you so much for the ask!! It’s sooo interesting to think about! I planned on just posting this drabble, but the more I thought about it, the more I started jotting down headcanons for everyone 👀 Of course there’s the initial disbelief and shock that Milgram can really do what it claims, but once they accept that, they’d have a lot of interesting reactions…
Es gets to watch the video first, then the prisoners are free to watch their own in the privacy of the courtroom/extraction room/wherever. Other prisoners can watch them only with explicit permission from the video’s singer. No one is allowed to watch Undercover except for Es. At first they spend hours looking at those final frames of themself flinching from the camera, hoping to jog any sort of memories, but eventually they give up on it. While actually watching it, they don’t mind the murder silhouettes. While sleeping, however, it has triggered more than one nightmare.
Haruka: He thinks Weakness is very pretty – he’s amazed seeing himself on the screen and hearing his voice, knowing he’s not that good of a singer. Even before his innocent verdict, it gives him a huge surge of confidence. Once he gets to know the others better, he gives them mv permissions, then stares intently at their faces to see their reactions as they watch it. AKAA scares him a bit, seeing his own intense emotions on screen, and he only gives Muu permission to see it. When he’s alone, Haruka pauses the shots of his mother, just to stare for a while.
Yuno: Laughs at the symbolism her mind used in Umbilical. She’s never shied away from sexual words/thoughts, so it's funny the video was as tame as it was. She thinks the song is fun, and isn’t afraid to show the others and sing snippets of it around the prison. Some days it’s too emotional for her to get into it, but most of the time she tries to display a confident attitude about it. After Tear Drop, she’s satisfied with her anger and more overtly sexual images. If anything, she feels too exposed by the shots of herself looking more vulnerable/sad.
Fuuta: He experiences a solid mix of embarrassment at the gaming theme in Bring it On and feeling a surge of pride that he looks badass in the knight’s armor. He’s worried the warden won’t take him seriously with the video game obsession, but he absolutely loves the song and thinks it portrays his toughness and ideals well. He’s less thrilled with Backdraft, everything about it unsettles and embarasses him. He’s thrown by the shot of crossing out his own silhouette – he’d had self-harming thoughts, but wasn’t quite ready to confront them so blatantly yet. Like Haruka, he can be caught pausing the arcade shot just for a moment before turning the whole thing off and storming away.
Muu: She has mixed emotions towards After Pain. She hates seeing herself look so weak and pathetic, but it gives her a lot of hope that her story will be understood. She misses her friends, and seeing them again is bittersweet. She closes her eyes at the moment of the stabbing – she’s only gotten the courage to watch it through her fingers once. She watches INMF once, then refuses to look at it again from shame/horror. Despite Haruka’s begging, she doesn’t let him watch it, either.
Shidou: He asks Es what they saw in Throw Down. Upon finding out his family wasn’t in it, he chooses not to watch it. He believes he already knows all about his emotions and crime, so there’s no need to go through that pain again. He’s tempted to watch it when he’s confused about Es’ verdict, but still holds off. He does watch Triage when informed his family is in it. He spends hours in front of the screen by himself. Only after seeing that one does he watch Throw Down, though he’s still left confused about Es’ decisions.
Mahiru: Absolutely loves TIHTBILWY. She thinks it perfectly describes her situation, and that the song is very cute. She lets others watch it, and unlike Yuno, feels like singing it 24/7. It reminds her of her bf, and she thinks that’s very romantic. Similar to Shidou, she spends a lot of time watching I Love You just to look at her boyfriend. She shows it to everyone, just to show him off and talk about him, even if she does skip over the beginning and end each time.
Kazui: He is very similar to Shidou; he refuses to watch his videos until T2, assuming it would be too painful to watch something he already knows and wishes to avoid. Unlike Shidou, seeing Hinako is far too painful, and he regrets watching it and seeing her so happy on their wedding day. Though maybe he’s still waiting, and hasn’t seen any of the videos yet…
Amane: Magic makes her worry more than anything. She fears she’s poisoned by unnecessary vainness since so much of her video involves cute things, colors, outfits, animals, and is set up like a tv show. She’s also worried that Es and the others will really see her as a child because of how cute the whole thing is. She prevents herself from watching it too many times, but buried under all her fears, it gives her a surge of pride seeing herself so talented and pretty and the star of the show. Purge March only reaffirms her confidence in her crime – the video brings up some awful memories, but it shows her as a leader, a warrior, a hero! It brings her comfort and confidence more than anything.
Mikoto/John: The videos are distressing to both of them, and they spend all their time studying the others’ screentime. Mikoto watches in horror as John does things that line up with his spotty memories, and John panics seeing that his actions distress Mikoto more than they’ve reassured/saved him. John does end up watching his own scenes a few times – it feels incredibly good to appear in a way that Mikoto may finally notice him. He feels seen. Now, logically I think that MeMe would be the final tipping point in which Mikoto finally accepts the situation and his DID, but if I must stick to his canon denial, then I’d say he goes on a whole rant about movie magic andt the crazy things you can do with editing nowadays. He doesn’t have a good explanation on how Milgram found his home and knew so much about him, but he explains everything away as cgi or camera effects. Double manages to sway him a bit more, as he hears John speak so plainly to him. Just as the audience had some debate on who was apologizing at the end of Double, Mikoto and John wonder who is apologizing to whom. Though they both come to the conclusion it’s their own apology, they decide that if it was the others’, they’d accept it and forgive them.
Kotoko: She’s very pleased with Harrow, and is unashamed to show it to the others. Though she’d been able to watch a few of the previous prisoners’ videos, it still shakes her a bit when she realizes that Milgram really does have the tech to look deep inside her. She watches it just a few times – not obsessing over it, but not afraid either. Deep Cover, however, is a once-and-done sort of deal. She claims she’s not letting the others watch it because “they couldn’t handle such harsh but true criticisms about themselves,” but she doesn’t end up watching it anymore herself, either.
#milgram#es#haruka sakurai#yuno kashiki#fuuta kajiyama#muu kusunoki#shidou kirisaki#mahiru shiina#kazui mukuhara#amane momose#mikoto kayano#kotoko yuzuriha#thank you so much! and for being patient 😅#i didnt mean to take so long but i kept chipping away at ideas while i got to this one#these were so much fun to think about!! i went for more emotional ones here but i do have silly thoughts too#i have that silly post about them making a competition after seeing each others mvs#though -even if they dont make it outwardly a big deal like that#i think they definitely would silently compare their videos/crimes to each others and decide whose was better#i still stand by the fact that fuuta asks kotoko if shes a furry after seeing harrow sdfasdf#i cant imagine kazui allowing anyone in the prison to watch his but IF he did#fuuta would also ask if he was a furry after cat ADSFSADF#i think the reactions t1 would be pretty positive/comforting#but in t2 theres a lot less pleasantries and compliments#aside from the obvious deep insights the videos give i think theyd reveal a lot of sweet similarities#like appreciation for flowers or cooking or performance or video games or music genres#but by t2 everyones on edge and suspicious of each other#or ashamed themself :(#i think its really cool imagining who would want to share theirs and who would keep theirs private...#rose posts

Mr. Jordan?? Excuse YOU?? This is a banger! Holy fucking shit. I don’t even know where I should start with screaming about that song!
A very messy kind of interpretation of that incredible song under the cut.
- the breathing??
- Bojan‘s voice? he sounds so hot
- the yearning/begging in the chorus…
Fuck this song is so good! The way that toxic kind of love is portrait here is so interesting.
Like, you love someone so much, you tell yourself its only hard because its supposed to be this way. As if this was the only way to have something good „with the pressure we’re under, we could make diamonds“.
But the love blindness is gone now „you single handingly wiped the smoke of my rose-tinted glasses“ and you have to accept that relationship for what it really is.
But you‘re still yearning for their touch..
I thought the other person loved him back and they were just not made for each other but honestly „we have a drink while I‘m bleeding in your arms“ & „you try to find a reason why, this love will kill us in the end“ I think it’s safe to say that this sounds not like the actions of a person who is in love with their partner. Either they are actively trying to hurt the other out of enjoyment or to have this „doomed“ lovestory.
I‘m jumping quite a bit in between the lines now but also the „I belong with you, not the earth and not the sky. You say you feel it too. You try to find a reason why, this love will kill us in the end.“ does not sound like the other person feels the same belonging. I thought that at first but now I kinda read it as „they [the other person] feel how attached Bojan [or rather the loving person] is to them and is therefore trying to drop him“.
Also because I fucking love that line:
-> „I belong with you, not the earth and not the sky??????!!!“
I am claiming that as my new favorite line!
I just love being dramatic and to be dramatically in love and especially if it’s all consuming
Also this line „Like waves kill castles in the sand“ holds so much power! Maybe it’s just me and my fear of the ocean (or water in general) but water is so powerful. It just wipes out everything. After a flood there is almost nothing left. So this love, when it ends, will leave at least one of them totally destroyed. There will be nothing left.
- „Should love and pain go hand in hand?“
-> just putting this here cause, ouch…
- the instrumental at the end. Like yes, it’s so loud and so deafening and it just crashes into nothingness [the waves finally killed the castle I guess]
I will die, hearing this live next week.
#i need Bojan on his knees while performing this song#give me the dramatic performance it deserves#i also did all of this without having the lyrics written down and I am very bad at deciphering lyrics myself so if there are any mistakes#my bad just ignore it then 😅#maybe I‘ll do a complete analyses in the future cause there is SO MUCH in this song#joker out#souvenir pop#bojan cvjetićanin#nace jordan#lips

Donmar Welcome Event 16th Jan 2024
Also went to a member's welcome event that the Donmar had, which was basically an hour where they served something to drink and told us a bit more about the theatre and the upcoming shows.
The invitation did say they'd have an exclusive tour of the place - on and off the stage - which I'd been quite excited about - but that didn't actually happen :(
Still, it was rather interesting! Learned a few things about Macbeth as well :)
Apparently, the stage stains very easily - which is why I'm baffled at how easy it apparently is to clean, but guess they must have some really lovely red dye that isn't as stainful as pretty much anything else that's dyed red. It also scratches easily - the movement on the stage can easily create little creases where the blood can get stuck.
I'd only seen the bloodbath on the floor once, so hadn't noticed, but was told that it comes up through the floor - probably why it differs so wildly each night how and where David is covered in it!
(As an aside to that - on the first night there wasn't a bloodbath - he was struck with the knife and there was a bit of blood on his shirt instead - now there's no blood at the wound)
Someone asked them about filming productions (not specifically about Macbeth - and they didn't say anything about it) and they told us about the process of deciding whether to record a production or not as it's a very costly affair to do so - which is why it's not something they just automatically do for everything.
They said that either the NT will ask them if they record a show - which means they do everything, and therefore is obviously the much cheaper option for themselves. The NT will let them know what benefits there might be in it for them - but as far as I understood they won't really earn much if anything from it.
So, the second option is for themselves to invest in filming a production by bringing in a third-party filming company that they pay for themselves. It's obviously a much more expensive way of doing it - but they'd also get more money back from it if it sells well in cinemas or online. Obviously, they have gone with the second option - so hopefully that's because they think it has really good marketing potential!
They mentioned that they are always very aware of the fact that not as many people get to see their performances as would probably like to see them - so it's always part of their considerations whether to film it or not when they create a new production.
One of them joked that they could probably keep up a production like Macbeth for three years and still sell-out - but that the theatre is known for putting on about 6 productions each year, so there's a limit to how long their runs can be - plus there's also the availability of actors to consider.
Someone asked if actors (I assume meaning, big name actors) takes a pay-cut to work with them - and yes, they do. Everyone is paid the theatre-standard no matter who they are. The only extra benefit they might offer big names is a taxi to get to the theatre and to escape back home afterwards.
Ah, yeah, think that was about it - everything else was more or less just about the upcoming productions, memberships, and other general things :)
Edit: Oh, forgot to mention that their focus will always be on the production as it's on, then on any potential transfers and then on releasing it for cinema/online - so if they filmed something it wouldn't be released until the live show is done - and sounded like they wouldn't necessarily say anything about it having been recorded (or not) until then as well. So don't think we will hear anything about the plan for it until the show is over.
#Macbeth#Donmar Warehouse#David Tennant#Cush Jumbo#This is just from memory - so yeah free paraphrasing.#Actually the part about the blood I was just lucky to hear 😅#as Silvia was talking to the two ladies standing next to me while I was nodding along and smiling 🙈#but not feeling competent enough to actually join in on the conversation 😬#She also mentioned how desperate understudies were for a chance to perform - which is of course very understandable!#but I was just thinking that if I were an understudy#I'm not sure I'd want to go on stage in DT's place 🙈#especially not for a short super popular run like this 🫣

I'll say that much... most of the oddlygood party footage i've seen is a little hard to watch :')

#käärijä#idk i'm not as eloquent and i'm super tired so i can only ramble loosely#am i wrong am i misinterpreting the vibe of this party?#it felt a little. performative? (and i mean i get it 😅 it is. at the end of the day.)#but sheesh. that ''hip young company'' office party vibe gave me weird flashbacks to my previous job

so i was rewatching the coachella standing next to me performance this afternoon and it made me wonder when/if alex knew what he was going to do. like was it something he 'd planned or thought about in some way before the show? did he already know what he was going to do when he was introducing miles and hyping him up right at the start of the song? was his heart thumping in anticipation as they got closer and closer to the final verse? or was it totally heat of the moment, everything spilling over and taking both of them by surprise?
some gifs of the performance for contemplation:
1) alex’s expression just before they start playing the song. is this just i’m-standing-on-a-very-big-stage-and-i’m-actually-just-a-tiny-introvert nerves or i’m-planning-to-snog-my-very-sexy-co-frontman-in-a-few-moments nerves???
2) the moment just before he goes in for the kill
3) The Kiss™️
3) alex covering his mouth with his hand afterwards (shock? the giggles? both?)
and then these two which are probably less about whether or not alex planned it, but they're very cute and telling so i had to include them:
4) miles taking alex's hand as they go offstage afterwards
5) their FACES when they go offstage (miles is literally doing that classic body language thing from romantic movies where someone touches their mouth to show they're thinking about a kiss 😭)
#this is where my brain goes when i'm stuck in bed with a chronic pain flare 😅#genuinely though i'd be fascinated to know what was going through that little mind of his during that performance#and miles's 😂#very interested to see what the general consensus is about this 👀#milex#the last shadow puppets#tlsp#alex turner#miles kane#arctic monkeys#polls#lulu posts

Well I finished my story-missions-only run of Inquisition last night. I’m glad I have the game a second chance, going through and focusing just on the main story helped me understand more what people like about it. The game maintains its momentum a lot better without spending dozens of hours picking flowers for some peasant’s side quest haha.
That said, I gotta say I still felt a bit underwhelmed by the ending missions and the fight with Corypheus. They felt pretty brief and phoned in from a gameplay perspective, and I was disappointed that after going through the effort to make a Faithful inquisitor, there really wasn’t a lot of extra dialogue at the end either. I guess I was hoping for at least a bit of a rebuttal speech to Corypheus’s constant monologuing? What we got was a single line that amounted to “Nah man, I’m the Maker’s Chosen.” Perhaps it’s unfair to compare any other game to Mass Effect’s 2 brilliant “let’s bring them home” suicide mission speech, but since the Inquisitor is supposed to be a political leader and a religious icon, I really would have enjoyed a chance to lay down the law on Corypheus before the final battle. Honestly, it would have been great to have slightly different speeches available depending on the personality of your Inquisitor and how you declared the Inquisition, or at least a choice for what you say before finally defeating Corypheus. I’ll grant, you get some of that agency in Trespasser but the point stands. They clearly lost time programming fifty million meaningless side quests, and even though I liked the story way better skipping the bulk of them, you can tell the writing department suffered for it. Again, not that I think the game was actively bad, and especially when played like a more linear BioWare game, it was even really good in some parts, but I think it could have been so much more if they’d prioritized their resources better.
All that to say, on the positive side, I’m really glad Veilguard has returned to a more directed, narrative-focused experience, and I hope that ends up working in its favor in a big way. 👍
#dragon age#dragon age inquisition#dragon age the veilguard#me post#as I have said before of course Veilguard looking so good is also a concern for me#hopefully they didn’t just replace an open world with great hair physics and the story ends up still lackluster 😅#I’m just really hoping the game ends up good man#and not just bc how well it performs directly impacts our chances of another mass effect lol
