i think i would respect radfems a lot more if they didn't kneejerk to transphobia and misandry constantly. but then transphobia and misandry is like their entire MO so i guess there's no way for me to respect radfems.
oh and by the way you can 10000% be a feminist and still respect trans people and still accept that men are people who can be oppressed just as much & more than all the white 20something British/American radfem girlies on here. please just understand that the patriarchy benefits from keeping you feeling helpless and scared and victimised and making other women feel scared and helpless and victimised. and your learned helplessness schtick is getting so fucking boring. ranting about trans people on tumblr makes the world better for oppressed women how exactly? yeah it really doesn't, not even a little bit so maybe go work in a soup kitchen and contribute to society in meaningful ways and stop being on the same side as the most misogynistic right wing men in existence just cus they 🙃 also happen to hate trans people 🙃
If they go after trans people, you do know that all the cis lesbians and unruly women are next, right? Trans people are quite literally standing between racist sexist lawmakers and YOU. you think they would have dared to touch Roe v Wade if transphobia hadn't popularised misogynistic talking points? the idea that women are defined by their vaginas and need to stay within their female roles no matter how much it hurts? the idea that lawmakers can define what a woman is, and therefore can police women's bodies? the idea that womanhood is immutable - as well as the idea that abortion and pregnancies are women's issues only?
they look at you and go "well it seems to be popular now to hate the transes, good! maybe they'll be too distracted to notice us taking their rights away. oh you're saying they hate the regular gays too*? most excellent! they will all fall like dominoes! women belong in the kitchen, they shouldn't be having thoughts at all!"
This is what the lawmakers that you're allying yourself with think about you, and you still support them?
*transphobes are usually homophobic too, i.e. "LGB" alliance, example: https://www.opendemocracy.net/en/5050/lgb-alliance-gay-venues-pride-monkeypox-twitter/
anyway when was the last time you called your MP or representative about FGM? about Iran? about Roe v Wade? Next time you want to reblog a reachy post about how all trans people are evil and we need to drop the T, do literally any of the above first. Go work in a women's shelter and meet trans women who are deeply traumatised, fleeing domestic violence, who will be let into most shelters without question (and those who would turn them away would turn away cis gays or lesbians too, eg salvation army), and maybe then you'll see that trans women are no more dangerous than the average cis woman and the same amount of vulnerable, if not more so.
trans exclusion is actually very likely to backfire and hurt you too. They'll use trans people as guinea pigs to see how much rights they can take away from a minority group without people caring; and then they'll turn to the cis gays, the racial and religious minorities, the disabled, and the WOMEN.
protecting trans people is very feminist and it is entirely and completely in your own interests to support us. i prommy you can still be a feminist, a lesbian even!
just put your money where your mouth is and actually support women in legitimate, tangible ways. raging against trans people isn't helping women one bit. call your representative. write to your mp. talk about iran or how worried you are about misogynistic talking points becoming much more prominent again. become a fgm activist or help sign up marginalised women to vote. hand out food parcels or help in a shelter or community garden. put your money where your mouth is.
or are you going to use all your energy on debating "men" and denying their reality? are you going to spend all your time thinking about men? foaming at the mouth thinking about other people's genitals (which you have not been invited to see or think about)? how is that going to help, exactly?
or is it just that you don't have enough compassion to think about other women and their actual, real life needs? just not enough time to help actual women, cus you're too busy dunking on trans people online?
misogyny is a real problem with real life impact and this is NOT caused by trans people. by focusing on trans people, you are doing women and feminism a huge disservice.
Just. Radfems, you really gotta rethink your priorities. Don't buy into fearmongering. Support women instead.

Ghouls night out

#poorly drawn mdzs#mdzs#wei wuxian#lan wangji#Scopophobia#Don't be mean Lan Wangji - the dead girl aesthetic is a curated one. Support women's rights to look dead!#I have been waiting for this scene for ages...the ghost girl entourage is such a good look for WWX.#And by gods does the audio drama actually do something interesting with one of them.#Namely that we actually get to see WWX talk with them and learn about who they were and what they left behind.#I love necromancer characters but it's way too common for them to be like “Go! Ghost no.145!” like they're a pokemon#and not...you know...someone who had a whole life that they left behind.#I love me a necromancer who has an awareness to whose soul/body they are using. It adds a lot of flavour!#MDZS is a little hit or miss with this. I think the fans do a lot of the work with making Mo Xuanyu a bigger character.#Yi City has this in spades. Even though we don't individually get character backstories#We get many painful reminders about how these 'corpses' were people.#We also get a few lines about how WWX used whatever corpses he could get his hands on (including grandparents - Woof!)#MDZS often (but not always) likes to remind us that every sacrifice and every ghost was a person.#It is so close to nailing the landing regarding the deconstruction of the necromancer character.#Anyhow. You may have noticed the uptick in quality in the last two comics. Rule of three means next one is going to be a treat B*)#See you all very soon!

A lot of you need to sit the fuck down and remember that cis women and trans women can be butches. because at this rate y'all are acting like it's a solely transmasc identity by conflating the experience of going on T and having top surgery as a universal butch experience. or god forbid, y'all equate butch to being a trans man

it makes no sense to claim to be a radfem while being het-partnered. maybe ur some other form of feminist, but certainly not a radfem. i also think the women who claim to be radfems while calling women dick-obsessed and other vulgar terms are not radfems either. these two beliefs can (and should) coexist

I know I said I'd be inactive but I gotta rant like I'm at a point of pure rage and I'm not all the way sober rn. As a black woman? I feel betrayed. Like I have no clue why, but for some reason I had faith in y'all to come through and recognize that while Kamala isn't perfect by any means that a Trump presidency would likely mean wraps for all of us, but no. Every. Single. Group managed to fuck up aside from black men and women in this election.
What happens when the internet becomes so overruled with censorship that we can no longer share information about the causes we care about? The police are already over militarized and the oompa loompa that's been put up in office is fully ready to grant them immunity, meaning they would essentially be able to do whatever the fuck they want to us without consequence.
I mean let's be fucking real that immunity is going to affect my community at a disproportionate rate just in case you guys already forgot what those pigs like to do to us. And my community is also that main group of people that is out on the street riding for everybody when there's an issue so what's gonna happen now? Hm?
Black women have been saying for a good while that we should vote for the candidate who will let us keep doing the work we're trying to do. The one that we would be safe protesting and organizing under so that we can make change both in and outside of our community, for example, actually putting third-party candidates in STATE GOVERNMENTS so that when actual viable third parties run, they'll have some chance in the presidential election. Y'know because the Electoral votes and support from state governments are really what matters.
And I say ACTUAL viable third-party candidates because, let's be real once again, half the people who voted for Jill Stein didn't do research on her like they should have. That white lady has been a grifter this isn't news.
It's like...watching people just cling to the idea that some big revolution is going to start within the next year because of this is exhausting, especially when the vast majority of American citizens had not a fucking clue about Palestine, Sudan, or Congo until 2023. Unfortunately for us, this shit takes time and actual irl community building. These election results have only made what would have been difficult nearly impossible because people either want to stand on some moral high ground or for 'tax cuts' that they aren't eligible for because half of you bitches are poor just like the rest of us.
I'm fucking exhausted. My ancestors survived slavery, Jim Crow, red lining - we're still surviving and fighting for justice for victims of police brutality and I am so. Fucking. Tired of surviving shit because y'all can't think critically for two fucking seconds. It's like doing a group project but everyone else has a few pebbles in their skulls knocking around in there instead of brains.

can we just holistically agree to forget the context of this clip and pretend he’s pointing at someone and saying “slay” and eventually use it as a reaction vid to compliment someone’s clear slayism

gnc and butch women (cis AND trans) and transmascs are punished for performing masculinity past certain thresholds of arbitrary attractiveness because people that cishet society categorizes or clocks as 'women' are not supposed to perform masculinity. hope this helps 👍
#spitblaze says things#this is the last thing im ever gonna fuckin say on the topic. im purging this stupidity from my brain once and for all with this post#there is an intersection of transphobia and misogyny here and idc what you wanna call it but to deny its existence is weird to me#transfems' hypervisibility means they have a lot of recognition but its absolutely not a privilege#transmascs' invisibility means they can stealth and fly under the radar easier which is better but not by a lot#and the assertion that nb people have to 'pick a side' so we can decide how to treat them is fucking ludicrous#there are absolutely differences in our treatment and our needs but a lot of it boils down to the same shit.#we are women when they want to deny us agency. we are men when they want to deny us support. this is true for everyone under the umbrella#and it's MEASURABLY worse when you're not white#anyway. im kinda over leftist groups who spend all their effort arguing about theory instead of doing anything in practice#so the next person who claims butch lesbians have 'masc privilege' or that transmascs dont actually face any sort of unique oppression#is getting smacked with a heavily vandalized copy of abigail schrier's Irreparable Damage#like again idgaf what you call it. you can just call it 'transphobia and misogyny' if you want im not a cop#ive just seen too many people who claim that it doesnt exist at all and im done with letting this take up brainspace#so im hanging up this sign and leaving. goodbye#i saw us go through the exact same shit with bisexuals and asexuals and gay men and frankly im not thrilled that its at my doorstep again#we go through a lot of the same shit but different populations do in fact need different kinds of support. thats it

the whole “all cis men are bad and therefore all women are perfect and can do no wrong” (regardless of a persons actual beliefs or actions) ideology that i keep seeing in queer spaces is extremely toxic and unhealthy--especially coming from a community that generally criticizes gender and it’s accompanied stereotypes
and also all this does is refuse to acknowledge that abuse CAN and DOES happen in lgbtq relationships, the only difference is that by refusing to talk about it, people don’t know how to identify it, because no. abuse only comes at the hands of cishet men to cishet women right? but ignoring that something is happening is never a progressive way to address it.
and its wild that a community that can agree that gender is a societal construct will also use gender stereotypes to suppress people WITHIN their own community, even when it means being transphobic and biphobic

choice feminism is not actual feminism and will do nothing to help push women out of the shackles we have been subjected to
No I understand this. It’s completely duplicitous to pretend that women choose things in vacuum, when in reality a lot of their decisions are influenced by the patriarchal system we were born into—makeup being a byproduct of it. I’m all for women going against the grain and existing in public without feeling the need to put makeup on.
There does need to be a push against rigid beauty standards, but putting a woman down for adhering to them just isn’t the way to me. It doesn’t mean I think every choice is inherently feminist and shouldn’t be questioned. It just means I’m mindful of not infringing on other women’s autonomy w my opinions. Besides, experiences w makeup are so different… one woman could just be wearing it bc she’s artsy and just likes the way it looks, whereas another could be wearing it bc she understands that it could help her up the corporate ladder. I wouldn’t dream of calling either of them anti feminist for doing it.
Is that ideal? No. Should it should be questioned, analyzed, changed for the better? Again, bc I don’t want my words to be twisted—yes, it should be. I was never trying to say it shouldn’t. All I was stating was that I don’t think policing women on whether or not they should wear makeup is the answer. I rly don’t. I’m not prepared to call a woman who wears makeup anti-feminist. I’m not prepared to shame a woman for wearing makeup or getting plastic surgery. I’m just not. That is not the same thing as promoting choice feminism. Like I know this isn’t the critical thinking website but being accused of being pro choice feminism for simply supporting other women being happy is crazy

ok I’m convinced now that if you have never ever backed up your words with actual real life political activism you need to genuinely shut the fuck up about politics and voting. “stop saying you won’t vote for genocide joe clearly guys just want to tear the voting system down without doing any actual work” maybe that’s your reality but stop projecting your weird ass liberal politics on everyone else cause you just sound like a fed trying to get ppl to confess exactly what they’ve done irl
