A lot of people say that the whole pit rage thing was Jason takes away what's interesting about his character. I don't agree, and even when I love the pit rage angle (my first approach to dc was arrow so that's why I love it so much) I don't think it's necessary to still say he wasn't in his right mind when he did what he did.
We're his feelings valid? 100%
Did he actually believe that death was the only way to stop some people? Yeah, that doesn't make him insane.
But, I do think he was very traumatized and acted accordingly. I don't think he actually wanted to hurt Tim, I don't think he wanted to hurt Bruce or Dick. I think he was manipulated (maybe on porpoise, or maybe Talia just told him what she believed, I mean, she believes in killing, so to her ofc Bruce didn't avenged Jason and didn't care, because to her caring would be killing the Joker. You can see it as her manipulating him on porpoise, which I don't think it's what happened, or she actually believed what she told him) and with the pain he felt, and the memory loss and ptsd, he acted out of character. I do think he actually believes killing some people is necessary, I don't think the amount of violence of his actions makes sense unless he isn't actually in his right mind. Not everyone breaks the same and at the same time or in the same way. People break and show their worst sides sometimes, and that is killing beyond what's necessary even to him. Another way to look at it is the writers wanted him to be bad, not caring what made sense or not.
I still really like the whole pit rage thing. But someone extremely traumatized also can act without realizing what they are doing, and they can also have memory loss of what they've done, and they can also do things that if they hadn't been triggered they wouldn't have done.

Talia is a horrible person
First point, she r***ed Bruce in Son of Batman, and everyone just glosses over it. It doesn’t matter how she did it, it’s the fact she did it at all. What she did was wrong and she deserves to be called out for it. Men and women both get SA and it’s horrible. Her calling Bruce “Beloved” doesn’t change anything. I’m not even getting into how she groomed Jason in that one comic. And just in case anyone says anything about Poison Ivy, I don’t like her either.
Secondly, even if you take out the SA, saying it was just character assassination, she’s still a bad person. In my opinion, the League of Assassins is basically a cult, so it’s definitely not a good environment to be in. Even if Talia cares about Damian, she still didn’t treat him right by raising him as a weapon, not letting him be a kid. He’s the way his is because of his upbringing. She’s definitely manipulative too, with how she talks to people and the way she acts.
Now there is the fact she kills people, but honestly that’s not really the worst thing out there, so I’ll ignore that. (Especially because Jason is one of my favorite characters and he’s got a kill count-)
Overall, I think she’s a horrible human being, and I feel like people should treat her like the terrible person she is, and that she would not be a good mom or a part of the batfam. My personal hot take, thanks for hearing me out.

Fem!Jason Todd Wayne & Slade Wilson
3 months, 8 days, 2 hours, 46 minutes, 33 seconds, and it's all as fresh in her mind as if it were yesterday. Day by day, she count, counting since that dreadful day, because if she don't count, she will forget, and if she forget, she will soften and return to the man who chose the Joker over her. Actually, it has nothing to do with softening—how cliché? She just wants that. To go back.
Jayna (Jason Genderbend), always wanting something; to be Catherine's real mother, for her real mother not to sell her to the Joker, for Talia not to exploit her, for Richard to truly love her, for Bruce not to turn her into a damned public service announcement of a good soldier, and despite all that, for Slade Wilson to be able to treat her like a father.
Slade had a different mission. He didn't save Jayna from getting a batarang on her neck that day for nothing. She was familiar with Slade's previous relationship with Terra, having tricked, used and raped the girl when she was not even 18 years old. Slade had an interest in girls younger than him, and Jayna was only 17 years old. The bad thing was not that she knew these things, but that she went to Deathstroke even though she knew them.
She was blind. Yes, she was literally blind. She was blind to love and didn't want to let it go, even if the person he found it with was a fucking pervert. Because she wanted to feel like a human being around someone..Yes, even if she remained a sex toy in Slade's eyes, she wouldn't say no to that. Maybe Slade would even be the only person who would truly love her..Jayna was only 17 years old, but she was a very skinny girl with small breasts and small hips, moreover, she had never worn make-up in her life and her skin was full of acne because she stood in a helmet for hours. Ah! ..She wasn't even talking about his oily bangs and white parts. Her face was completely different from that of a teenager or a child. Nobody want her.
So, did she still want to go? Did she have anywhere to go? Did she want to die, did she want to kill people, did she want to turn to Bruce right now and beg him to take her with him? No. She made up her mind, she was going to let Slade manipulate her.
Let's see how the BatFamily reacts to this? Bruce, in particular, is not very happy with his daughter's psychology.

Chapter Eleven
Masterlist
Jason didn’t know how to feel. He’d just learned so much about someone he thought he knew in such a short amount of time that processing it all felt impossible. He knew that the others were having just as hard of a time with it all as he was, but that didn’t help his own knot of complicated emotions. His neighbor knew him through the kind of magic that allowed for reincarnation to happen. His youngest brother, because he could finally admit that the Waynes were really his family, had remembered for longer than his neighbor to spare them all from the horror of their second life. The person who he thought was a manipulative douchebag was actually pretending so that the world didn’t follow apart.
He felt like his life had somehow shifted even though nothing had really changed. …That was the issue though, wasn’t it. Nothing had truly changed even though it felt, however irrationally, that it should have. Such a big secret kept for such good reasons were still massive secrets. He felt betrayed, of course he did when such important people in his life were keeping such big secrets, but he didn’t feel justified to feel hurt by that betrayal. That would be like being hurt because the Justice League had defeated a massive world-ending threat. He was suddenly privy to information that made it seem like the world should have changed somehow, but everything had the audacity to stay the same.
It reminded him of his death in a bad way. When he’d seen what was happening in Gotham from his outsider’s perspective while at the League, and to some extent even when he’d come back, it had seemed like nothing changed. Jason Todd was dead, and he hadn’t been enough to even change the person he interacted with the most. He might have been the root cause of his death, but the fact that it appeared like nothing had changed, even to the other causes of his death, was so incredibly hurtful. Now, a somewhat similar, if flipped, thing was happening and nothing had really changed.
Jason wondered if these same thoughts, or even similar ones, were going through his family's minds. It had taken something like ten hours for the family to stop asking questions of Talia, although she didn’t answer all of them, sometimes giving vague answers as well. If they were thinking similarly, Dick would probably be beating something up or bothering everyone with cuddling requests, Bruce was probably brooding or talking it over with Clark and Diana, Tim was probably trying to do some research or solving puzzles, Duke was probably just going about his normal life until he figured out how he wants to feel about it, Cass is probably keeping obsessive tabs on the family to make sure they’re safe, Steph is probably tagging along while munching on waffles in mostly silence, and Alfred is probably focussing on keeping his usual exceptional level of service while he works through his thoughts.
If this was before Jason had met his new neighbor, who it turns out he’s known for longer than he’s even been alive apparently, he would most likely be taking out these feelings and issues on the town, probably in one of his little fits to add to that awful image. Now though, he was laying on his couch, staring at the wall. He’d started by sitting and staring at the ceiling, but he must have fallen over at some point. It was fine though, he didn’t plan on moving unless he had to, mostly in fear of what he would previously do happening again.
Jason’s mind wandered to what they’d found out about Existences. There were many names and titles that could go into an Existence’s, well, existence. The High King that Taila had sworn by was the ruler of the entire Infinite Realms, which should have been at least a little frightening yet instead brought comfort as well as questions that didn’t get answered that day.
How long had it been since he sat down at his couch? He didn’t know, but that wasn’t as important as going over all he’d learned to try to process it so his brain should really start focussing.
His family was mostly composed of liminals, with Damian being the outlier as a Realms Blessed Existence Bonded Liminal, which was his fancy and full title, although Talia had hinted that it wasn’t his only title. The area in a Mortal Realm that was claimed by an Existence was referred to as a Haunt, and that place was almost like their own kingdom. All Existences who were strong enough could form a Lair, which was a place for them in the Infinite Realms, and it could either stand by itself as a door hanging out in the Realms or as part of someone else’s City, Town, Village, or Kingdom. Those four are pretty self explanatory.
There are some holidays celebrated by the entirety of the Realms, but otherwise it is pretty situational and/or regional when it comes to holidays. Talia hadn’t really expanded on what holidays they did celebrate, saying that it would be explained to them later or it didn’t matter. Come to think of it, that had been her answer to a large amount of their questions. It was partly annoying and partly understandable.
The reason the Pit’s Influence had stayed around longer for Jason than most other people was because he’d formed an Existence before being chucked into the Pit for full revival. Apparently that let the corruption in the stupid green goo latch onto him in a far different way than normal. Talia had said that his fits were the corruption trying to take control while relying on his instincts after hyping some of them up and suppressing others. Danny had been filtering the corruption out at a rate that didn’t make the corruption freak out in order to avoid hurting either of them, which meant it was slow work. The several months that Danny had been here meant that a few more weeks of filtering would make some of his suppressed instincts supposedly flare up.
In terms of the Infinite Realms and death and all that jazz, they’d gotten some information from Talia. The Infinite Realms contained all afterlives, but there was also a thing called Limbo that existed for those who didn’t want to have even the slightest chance of interacting with the world or those who were too young to make the choice themselves. The souls who were too young could age safely in Limbo until they decided for themselves what they wanted to do. The souls who chose to go there after being deemed old enough would never be able to change their choice. There was also a place called the Beyond where souls who were waiting for reincarnation or fading into the Void. The Void was just ceasing to exist.
All of this information was supposedly the barest of bare basics that Talia felt comfortable sharing without more permission from other sources. She did share with them that she was technically an outsider because she wasn’t even very liminal. In fact, most of the family would be considered outsiders and treated as such unless they were in the company of at least one Existence. It was odd to think that such world breaking knowledge would just barely cover the basics that they would need to know if they ventured into the Infinite Realms, which Talia seemed to think was heavily possible.
What most intrigued Jason was that Existences of a certain level could change to different forms. Apparently Danny and Nellie both had forms more capable of surviving in the Infinite Realms. Damian was also able to live in the Realms, according to Talia, and Jason was supposedly also capable of it as well. However, the rest of the family would need special charms to be able to even breathe and a special device to be able to properly navigate.
Jason continued to float within his thoughts for an unknown amount of time, not even noticing when his body acted on autopilot to make food, eat the food, clean the dishes, or even to go out on patrol. When he finally came back to proper awareness, he had one burning question that felt like it would once again change everything, but he knew that he had to ask it. There was this fire in his chest that wouldn’t let him forget that one question. Now he just needed to find Danny to ask it.
~`~`~
Nellie was excited, Pops was finally in the right state of mind to remember! According to Grampa Clocky, she needed to make sure that Pops went to his Lair with Da in order to remember, but Grampa had also said she couldn’t rush it, nor could she tell Da. It wasn’t fun, but the outcome would more than make up for that. She’d missed when Pops would read to her until she fell asleep. She’d mi-
“Nope! Don’ even dare silly thoughts!” She called out cheerfully as she slapped her cheeks a little. Soon she wouldn’t have to miss that, so there was no point stressing over it.
Making sure the blanket of shadows that kept her concealed was still wrapped around herself, she set off for Wayne Manor, where Da was still talking with Damian about animals or memories of the past. If her template was anything like herself, he would have been sorely missing the ability to talk to someone about those memories. It would have only hurt more to talk to someone who knew of the past yet didn’t really know because they didn’t experience it.
Once she reached the limit of how far her shadows could take her before she started getting noticed because of them, she slipped into invisibility and dropped the comforting blanket with a short thanks to Gotham. Now, she could truly move fast as she sped through the air with the sole intent of curling around her Pa and being close to her ghoul as she waited for that blessed day of memory remembrance.
~`~`~
Tim was honestly still kind of reeling from the heavy revelations of that day a couple weeks ago. He’d once gotten so obsessed with a case that it caused his death. He knew that he could get carried away when he really wanted to solve a case, but he never thought of it as something that could be detrimental to his health before. Normally, he would focus on research or things that he could solve as a way to process everything that he’d learned, but he couldn’t bring himself to do so with the knowledge that it’d lead to his death once.
He was even more thankful than ever that Danny had given him a safe place to tell the family about the case, Danny had probably saved his life with that, which, now that Tim thought about it, was probably the entire point. Danny had apparently been saving all of them from one thing or another the entire time they’d known the family, longer even. It was admirable and only made Tim more convinced that Danny was an amazing person.
Damian of all people was the person to help Tim the most with processing everything they’d been told. He’d sat by Tim and helped talk through all of the questions shooting through Tim’s head like bullets. That wasn’t something that Tim ever expected to happen, yet was apparently the way that he and Damian had bonded in that first life.
What a thing to have confirmed in the most confusing way possible, the idea of reincarnation. Which actually wasn’t even an idea at all. Tim wasn’t very religious, but he would have sworn by almost any god that reincarnation wasn’t something that could really be proven. Now, his thoughts on the matter had entirely shifted. There wasn’t any concrete proof behind the idea, not like he would have basically demanded before, but there was something inside of him that knew what had been said was the truth.
He’d worried about finding his twin before, but the intense feeling of hopelessness around not finding his twin was gone now. He trusted that the Existence Danny had asked for help would be able to help. There was just a sense of building dread that the answer to the question wouldn’t be something that he’d thought of before. He had the overwhelming feeling that discovering who his twin was wouldn’t be easy, in fact, it would most likely be about as earth shattering as the revelations that had happened recently. He could only hope to be ready for such an eventuality whenever it finally came.
~`~`~
Talia sighed and stretched as she finally arrived back to her rooms after one final check on everyone. Dick was talking about everything with Babs and Harley while Ivy was doing something out of town, which gave her some sense of peace knowing that he was conversing with a good therapist, however insane, and in the company of someone who knew him very well. Bruce was working through his thoughts by alternating brooding and training, which had brought a smile to her face with its normalcy. Jason wasn’t taking it well, but she hadn’t expected him to with all the corruption in his system. Duke had talked it out with his near comatose parents, which had apparently helped even for how morbid it appeared. Steph and Cass were assisting each other through it. Tim had worked through it with Damian and was now dealing with the emotional stuff by himself. Alfred was the only real shock, she wasn’t aware that he was an… old friend of Clockwork.
She figured getting some sleep wouldn’t be a bad thing as she’d pushed her body to the limits to make sure that her family and their town was safe these past two weeks. Now, finally, she could get some of the rest she so badly needed while waiting for the next part of the sly old clock’s plan to take place. Knowing him, however, the rest wouldn’t be nearly as long as she longed for right now. Oh well, a little rest was still some rest after all. She’d done her part, so she deserved at least that much.
~`~`~
Danny basked in the sunlight while Damian talked to him about whatever came to mind. It was nice to finally be able to relax as he’d been forced to take a break from work due to them being worried he’d overwork himself enough to become one of the inmates. It wasn’t possible, of course. His going insane would result in so many bad things that he made sure he was always aware of how close he was to the line, always stopping well before he crossed it.
Danny knew the level of calm could never and would never last, but he was happy to take advantage of it for as long as it could last. He was happy to finally have his family, all of his family, know about what had transpired before they’d even been born in this life. They didn’t know everything, but they would eventually. His Death Day was also coming up, but that thought wasn’t enough to dampen his mood. He just wished they could stay in this happy time for just a little bit longer, just a little longer…
~`~`~
Damian smiled down at Danny now that they’d finally fallen asleep. He knew that they didn’t need to sleep as much as they once did, but he wanted them to fully enjoy this relaxing atmosphere before it descended into the chaos that was inevitable in this family. Peace didn’t last for long, but Damian would make sure that his important people made it out alive this time. He didn’t know if he could take being one of the sole survivors again, it was too heartbreaking.
His ghoul landed beside him and rested her head on his shoulder, and, just like that, he knew that Jason had finally landed on the question that would assure his Pops regained the memories of their past. Damian sighed, knowing that the peace was going to fade especially fast this time. Still, having his ghoul next to him gave him enough peace that he felt himself start to fade into sleep. “Love you.” He murmured as he slipped into a restful sleep, only partially hearing her response as he faded from awareness into the gentle void of a dreamless sleep that reminded him so much of his ghoul’s shadows.
Yes, everything would work out this time. He’d make sure of it.

What do you make of the change the New52 made with Catherine and Sheila in Jason's Death storyline?
Despise it. And I've argued with plenty of other so called Jason fans on this one. They all hated Sheila and were happy to see her removed from canon but the fact is all they did was give her story to Catherine thus tainting the one good person Jason had in his early childhood. Jason fans need to realise you're meant to hate Sheila, she sold a young boy, her own son out to the Joker. They also need to realise just cause someone is bad to Jason doesn't mean they shouldn't exist for the purposes of the story. Sheila being an awful mother, an awful person, is necessary for Jason's story while tainting Catherine with that storyline removes the one adult figure in Jason's life that he felt didn't actively seek to hurt him even if she still let him down in another way.
Jason feeling ostracised in Bruce's family, finding out Catherine wasn't his birth mother and realising he had a chance at a parental connection with someone who might appreciate him only for that woman to turn him over to the Joker is heartbreaking and contributes to Jason's later unwillingness to trust people (unless you're Talia cause for some reason DC and some Jason fans think that woman is a saint when she used Jason just as much as everyone else, if not worse in many ways and is no better than many of Batman's other Rogues). However, despite this betrayal Jason still tries to save Sheila in the end showing that despite what DC want us to think nowadays about Jason as Robin, he was good at heart, he died a hero, trying to save a woman who sold him out and watched as he was beaten bloody with a crowbar. This is integral of Jason's character, it shows that he was more than the cautionary tale that Batman and modern DC want to turn him into. He was a hero.
Also easily the worst part about the change in the New52 is it makes Jason's entire life the product of some scheme by the Joker. I hate that. Not everything in comic books needs to be some massive conspiracy. Sometimes things can just happen coincidentally. Jason was not the only orphan (or in this case fake orphan since Catherine was not dead in this scenario) on the streets, Batman could have stumbled across any of them, the fact he takes Jason in is entirely because of actions Jason chose to take, no one manipulated Jason into stealing the Batmobiles tyres.
For people who don't know basically in New52 Sheila was replaced with Catherine. Catherine was originally Jason's step mother in Post Crisis Canon but was changed here to be his biological mother. In original canon Jason's father was killed by Two-Face and Catherine died of an "illness" speculated to either be a drug overdose or some form of cancer that she took drugs to try and dull the pain. Regardless Jason ends up orphaned on the streets and then found by Batman when he steals the wheels off the Batmobile to try and sell them for money. Then Jason finds out Catherine is not his real mother and goes searching for Sheila and finds her in Ethiopia where she's working with the Joker (admittedly unwillingly but she's being blackmailed due to her stealing charity funds so honestly I don't feel bad for her in that situation) and Jason tells her he's Robin and can help her with the Joker and instead of taking him up on that offer she sells him out to the Joker.
In New52 the Joker meets Jason pre death of his parents and orchestrates everything. Willis Todd's death, he fakes Catherine's death to leave Jason "orphaned" so that he'll be taken in by Batman and made into Robin, he then threatens Jason by revealing Catherine is alive and that's how he gets Jason to the warehouse where he beats and kills him.
I just hate that. I hate the idea that the Joker basically controlled every part of Jason's life even BEFORE he killed him. Newer DC writers seem obsessed with Jason being a puppet to the Joker due to him being Red Hood, constantly tied to the clown rather than acknowledging Jason taking the name Red Hood is his way of regaining some agency in his own life by taking from the man who took from him. But to a degree I can understand thinking post resurrection Jason is in a way controlled by the Joker, his existence affects Jason. Having the young boy who thought being Robin made him magic also just turn out to be one of the Jokers sick pet projects is just callous, cruel and ultimately adds nothing substantial to Jason's character arc. It was poor writing and I'm thankful for the most part more modern comics seem to have tried to distance themselves from this god awful retcon and that fans seem to have never accepted it as canon to begin with.
The New52 Outlaws run had its moments but I'll he honestly I'm not a huge fan of Lobdell's storylines, overall characterisation wise i think he normally nailed Jason decently well but some of those plots were.... just not good. This is absolutely, 100% one of the worst ones.

okay so rtc mermaid au
this is going to be set in australia because *fuck america* (that's a joke it's really because most mermaid stuff is in australia and i want an excuse to have stuff in australia and therefore based on my own experiences. also it lets me make them wear uniforms which h20 just add water didn't do and i'm STILL MAD i dont care if it's a queensland thing fuck queensland they had to win the state of origin. bitches.) this fic would be throughout their year 12 (senior year) but i haven't decided if this would be starting in october or february because. okay school years are weird once you get to senior.
constance, noel, and ricky are all regular human people. they are in the choir. and you know ricky is really into sydney folklore, noel thinks they're bullshit, and constance was super into h2o: just add water and mako mermaids (the sequel show). okay, she still is.
penny has been a mermaid since birth. because. both her parents were merpeople so is ezra it's simple genetics. she grows up in the northern territory (it's our hot desert state and apparently has had the highest percent weed usage in australia). something something their parents were manipulators who made people believe that either they could become merpeople or that deep down, they fucked them up through the intense amounts of marijuana. their transformations were decently controlled because. like nt is a fucking desert there's a reason it's a territory not a state. but when the police found the commune, for some reason or other, they spilt water on penny and ezra's parents. so not only have they been split from their family and sent to sydney, a crowded city entirely different to everything they've ever known, but they are also traumatised by what happened to their parents and are panicking about getting caught especially in a city that has far more water (they lied in the commune and got out because of being minors idk i didn't take legal studies)
ocean was magically transformed into a mermaid. basically, i'm keeping choir as a think because it's fun dammit. ricky was accompanist because they're really damn good at piano. on the group chat, ricky (who was really into myths of the area) was like "hey you should go to xyz beach and chant this thing prove me wrong" and ocean. wanted to prove them wrong. sO. on her 18th birthday (fulfilled the thing stipulations, she'd be studying anyway so might as well do something special) she went there and did the chanty thing. coincidentally, at the exact time she was born. she then went to school or the library to study (what a fucking nerd) and when she showers the next morning, girliepop falls down. with a tail. yeah it's not great and she panicks because she is building a future it is bad publicity if she is a fucking fish. so if it starts in september she'd change during the fic.
mischa is a siren (so is talia). he lived on the outskirts of ukraine, but one night in his sleep he somehow swam to australia. he has no idea why he's there. his physiology is also different from penny's and ocean's. they don't have gills (it's more just. holding their breath), he does, and his never go away. he also doesn't need water to change into siren form, he can control it all. and he can get wings. mischa's song is enchanting, it can curse all who hear it to a watery grave. except, weirdly, penny's and ocean's. in fact, ocean begs him to join the choir, with how his song somehow is layered with harmonies. he says no, thank you, but he sees how easy it will be for him to fulfil whatever he has to do.
@try-cry-why-try @luckynature
#okay but should i write this????#rtc#ride the cyclone#rtc mermaid au#penny lamb#ocean o'connell rosenberg#mischa bachinski#now i just need to figure out what school they'd go to and my subjects post#i'm also thinking mischa can charm people with his voice#also yes bi mischa HOWEVER. no passionfruit...#I JUST WANT THEM TO SUPER CLOSE PLATONIC BUDDIES WHO ARE BOTH MEN ATTRACTED TO MEN#anyway :)

LET'S F*CKING GOOOOOOO!!!
"If you lied and it gets people hurt, I'll be back to take away more than your pain."
LET'S F*CKING GO SCOTT!! THAT'S OUR BAD*SS TRUE ALPHA RIGHT THERE!!!! WE LOVE THIS MAN SO MUCH!!!
Okay so first of all:
I officially do not blame Deucalion for anything. I honestly just feel so bad for him. He really did just want to try to come to some sort of peaceful resolution, and he 100% did NOT deserve that. And technically! His first kill of one of his Betas was sort of self-defense, so, like, even THAT wasn't originally devious. He just kind of....lost his mind, after everything.
Obviously we still need to stop him, and...kill him if we absolutely have to, but none of this is really his fault, because it's still F*CKING GERARD ARGENT'S!
BECAUSE F*CK YOU, GERARD!!
I also officially (not that I really did to begin with, tbh) don't blame Derek for anything. I mean, I've always felt bad for him, honestly. Like, obviously I was creeped out by and mad at him in the first season, but he grew on me really quickly, because he's Derek and he's really not a terrible guy. And to have to do what he did (which, by the way, the way that a werewolf's eye color does change to blue is such a cool thing (and Talia being literally the best mom—“different, but still beautiful, just like the rest of you"), is so freaking fascinating and I love it) is so unfair and super messed up and I BLAME F*CKING PETER!!
Because F*CK YOU PETER!!!
F*CK BOTH OF OUR F*CKING HORRIBLE UNRELIABLE F*CKING NARRATORS I HATE YOU BOTH!!
...okay, I don't hate Peter as much as I hate Gerard. I take that back. But I definitely don't TRUST him, and I'm glad Stiles doesn't either.
I'm also so glad that Scott doesn't trust Gerard as far as he can throw him (and he's a werewolf, so he can CHUCK that man if he wanted to), because he shouldn't, because he's a F*CKING PSYCHOPATHIC MANIPULATIVE *SSHOLE AND GOD I WISH HE WERE DEAD!!
...anyways.
I said it before, but I will say it again. I LOVE how that episode was done. The flashbacks transitioned into each other and back into the present so smoothly, but you were still easily able to tell which side of the story was being told. The parallels between the various storytelling was AWESOME. Peter and Gerard both telling their own versions of the Scorpion story in relation to their respective pasts, Peter and Gerard both being unreliable narrators and lying about the details and who was really at fault while we as the audience got to see what really happened, and Scott and Stiles listening to every word, but never fully trusting it for a second, because they're both too smart to take either of those individual's words at face value.
I am so here for it, and I absolutely LOVED watching that episode play out.
More than anything, I cannot WAIT to see how all of this new information plays into our ability to take on Deucalion and the Darach, because once our whole group comes together again, it's gonna be a wild ride.
Meanwhile, I'll attach a bad*ss Scott McCall gif because we LOVE this man and I almost want whatever plan they come up with to go wrong just so I can watch Scott go back and murder Gerard’s *ss, because he soooooo deserves it, and we all know that those eyes would stay perfectly yellow (or, in this case, red, I suppose) because Gerard is faaaar from innocent.
Anyways I loved that episode. <3

First of all, glad to see you're back❤️ secondly... I've read chapter nine and I have a lot of things to tell.
First, I was mad at jesse before but now I'm extra mad at him lmao. Last chapter he was acting like dina was at his place and he said he told dina about the kissing, but none of that was true wow. Such a fricking manipulator and for what😭👍 also, I wasn't expecting Dina's story to be like that... Actually I was, I just wasn't expecting Talia in the middle of this. Part of me think that... Well, dina telling maria even before she met ellie would have been the smart thing to do, but I also won't judge because david is the only to blame here.
The bathtub scene was so cute somehow. Just picturing him crouched talking with ellie while she's venting to him on that bathtub while drinking the tea he made for her is something special. Like she's his religion and he's just there; meeting all her needs.
The rest... The rest of the chapter reminds me of that tlou meme gif where ellie opens the door and everything is pure chaos (I hope you know what gif I'm talking about because otherwise I would feel shy rn lol). So, things escalated very quickly: in one moment the pastor was exchanging barbs with joel while tommy was more lost than a nun on her honeymoon, and in another second, ellie's reaction to david invoked something primal and full alpha on joel (which I'm sorry but it was too fucking hot) and broke david's wrist. As much as that made me go 🎉🎉 for david's wrist, that whole chaos shouldn't have happened... Because joel getting all riled up in front of tommy even before david insinuated anything, ellie getting out of his house in his shirt and joel getting agressive and defensive over ellie, All of this, just made Joel look like the big bad wolf in front of people. At the same time, the scene that happened afterwards was... A bit funny, I'm sorry🤣 I mean, it was tense: maria is mad, tommy is confused and mad, everyone is fucking mad. But that whole scene (they mad at joel and ellie sassing maria while tommy was like "ellie, attitude!") seemed like two parents that just found out their sassy teenage girl is in case with an older man she has a crush on. Kind of reminded me of the movie "crazy stupid love" lmao. But well, back to being serious: While maria made it very clear that he never thought well of Joel, tommy is... A hard deal. Like, we can see he's questioning joel's morals and getting protective of ellie, but at the same time it's like he's not believe his brother would do something like that without genuine feelings involved but he doesn't say that out loud because his wife is his boss. I will re-read to see if I'm right, but even seemed like Joel was scowding tommy for that too when he was arguing with him behind the cells. Like when joel was "why are you letting this pastor free out there?" there was an you're letting your wife rule your head like that? unspoken. Or maybe It's just nonsense from my head, idk.
Last but not least: there was two things I wasn't waiting until this chapter: thing number 1 is the fact that our lovebirds were discovered faster than I thought they would. I mean, they started their relationship and david was a new character, I I thought that there was still some stuff to happen between both things before it all went to wind, so that's why I'm as surprised as every character was on this chapter. Thing number two: Ellie knew about David's creep head even before he did anything to her, so I thought "that's the first story that david doesn't try/doesn't have time to put his hands on ellie"... But then someone came and said there was fire at the church, and then I remembered instantly of the burning restaurant scene from the last of us and... Well, I guess this emoji is what I felt🤡🤡🤡🤡 Poor ellie, I bet something happened with her and that's why there's fire at the church. (Good thing is that joel scaped prison right now😈david might meet hell sooner than he was expecting).
*out of breath* so, that was alll tense. Got me anxious thr whole chapter, so I feel like I need to talk about the few less tense things that happened so I guess less anxious: first, joel getting all hot with that bratty behaviour🤭homegirl almost crying and joel thought that was foreplay made me laugh. Which remindes me.... When out of this shit gets calm again, are we gonna find out if the spanking talk is serious???😏cause I think sir Joel liked the idea a little too much huh. he definitely must be holding a belt in his drawer for this moment.
Also he almost said he loves her🗣️🗣️🗣️ I don't think I even have anything to say about it, don't think I could find the words.
Sweet cub, Mama Bear is sat for this. By the time you see this response, I will have been working on this since last Wednesday. Anyone who takes the time to read and analyze something I write to this degree deserves my attention.🫶🏻 maybe we can consider this the appendices to Learning to Walk - let’s dive in:
Let’s talk about Dina, Talia (who will just be a character that is mentioned in passing) and Jesse. Jesse has been in Jackson - with his mom and siblings - the longest, he has the strongest bonds (or so he believes) with the community. Dina and Talia arrived a few years back - and then David and his few survivors sometime after. For the first time in Dina’s life, she was protected, and Talia could rest knowing her sister was safe. So, imagine this young woman’s horror when her r@pist shows up to this safe community and welcomes him with open arms - Talia remembers the old world, she knows what Maria did for a living (I’m playing off show-Maria in this story, that she was a prosecutor), she knows that men like David didn’t pay for their crimes and could twist the truth to their favor. Talia is trying to protect Dina, Jesse is over protective of Dina, and Dina just wants to live her life.
That being said, this is not the Dina from part 2, this Dina - like Ellie - is younger, and they don’t know one another. Dina is protecting her sister, trying to keep them both from being kicked out of Jackson because that’s what Talia has been telling Dina could happen. Jesse, because his head is up Tommy’s ass all the time, agrees with this assessment, because Jackson operates within a very delicate balance - despite Maria believe there’s law and order, it’s really people just trying to get by, keeping their noses down and staying out of trouble.
Enter Joel. Everyone in Jackson knows the stories about Joel because Tommy is a storyteller, he wants to feel a sense of belonging, and he never thought Joel would show up in Jackson. When Joel asks Maria “why did you let me stay,” she tells him she thought he was deserving of a second chance, but in reality it’s Tommy protecting his brother. Joel tries to carve out a place for himself in Jackson, but even with a partner - Esther - he can’t settle, can’t let himself live.
Which is where the story began way back on the side of a mountain in December 2035 😉
Ellie’s been kind of off for a couple chapters - the whole world came crashing down around her shoulders - she walked into the room on fire, right? Now that things are on the mend and her fuzzy brain is starting to clear - let’s just fuck with our poor girl some more, why not, right? Because a showdown has to happen between her and David and that man (if we can fucking call him that) is not going to like that Ellie knows about Dina and Talia, and we’re assuming other girls. He thinks it’s his job to be her protector and.. oh wait, we’re not there yet! 🫢
But - the showdown is coming at the church, and we’re gonna go back to the night Joel was arrested and see those 3 days Joel was in jail from Ellie’s POV. Someone mentioned to me that this whole thing with David and Ellie happened too fast - but remember that the winter sequence happens over a matter of days, David sees Ellie and decides he’s keeping her (whether your a game follower or show follower) - so this build up was coming.
Last - but most certainly not least - our lovebirds. Yes, Joel almost said it, they got caught, and Ellie being a brat turns them both on. While I’m not gonna give away the farm, this part of the story is winding down, and will go to a resting place until the next arc starts up. Ellie being a brat will be revisited in the future. As for someone saying the L word - just to put on “But Daddy I Love Him” by Taylor Swift while you wait patiently for Chapter 10!

Here's some actual canon for you to consider:
Deaton is never called the Hale Emissary. He is called Talia's Emissary. There is never a single scene in which any character acts as if he was supposed to be Derek's (or Peter's) Emissary for that matter. Furthermore, Deaton is not a house elf; in the United States, people aren't property and you can't inherit them.
Deaton said one critical thing to Derek in Season 2. He called Derek a not particularly competent alpha, and considering that Derek had bit an unstable narcissist in Jackson and created a kanima, had just been manipulated by his uncle from beyond the grave, had been unable to handle the three children he bit at the same time on the first full moon (after acknowledging in Season 1 he may not even know how to train bitten wolves), and had spent half a season trying to kill an innocent girl, I don't think it is unwarranted.
Deaton absolutely did help Derek throughout the seasons. He lied to the sheriff about the way Peter lured Laura back. He didn't tell the police about how Derek broke into his clinic, assaulted him, and kidnapped him. He kept Scott out of Peter's clutches. He told Scott about the bestiary (that was to help Scott help Derek; the kanima wasn't Scott's fault). He supplied Derek with ketamine which could have cost him his license. He gave Derek aid and advice after Peter used Derek to resurrect himself. He helped Isaac recover his memories. He kept the young Derek in his clinic overnight. He endured Valack's gaze to try to save Derek. Deaton helped Derek a lot.
And for the final time, it wasn't Deaton's plan for Scott to force Derek to bite Gerard just as it wasn't Scott's plan. It was Gerard's plan. If Deaton had gone on a trip and Scott went to live with his Dad rather than deal with the Hale/Argent War, Gerard would still have used Jackson to force Derek to give him the Bite. Scott's plan -- and there is no reason to doubt Scott when Scott said it was his plan -- was to replace Gerard's pills with mountain ash, and he got Deaton to help with his plan. And the person forcing Scott to make Derek bite Gerard was ALSO Gerard, as he had Jackson put his claws to Allison's throat. No amount of fanon conspiring is going to change that.
As for why Deaton didn't tell poor Derek about the plan when he knew about Paige, I suspect it was because he knew about Paige. He knew about Kate seducing Derek. He knew about Derek assaulting him and beating him. He knew about Derek slashing up Scott so bad that Scott had to get medical attention from him. He knew about Derek's quest to murder Lydia. He saw Derek standing there having to be talked down about killing Jackson by Scott. He didn't tell Derek because he didn't trust Derek, which is good, because Derek wasn't trustworthy.
I don't know why Deaton is held as not helping or honoring his promise to Talia because he criticized Derek's disastrous leadership style, but somehow Stiles and Peter's constant "talking down" to Derek is seen as helpful and justified. I don't know why Deaton's decision to help Derek against Gerard by withholding information is seen as treachery when Derek does it all the time -- "Maybe I do it because I'm trying to protect you." -- and it is seen as his prerogative. I don't know why Scott's plan has to actually be Deaton's plan because Scott claiming it as his can't be taken at face value, when every word out of Derek's, Peter's, and Stiles's mouth is taken as the literal truth. I don't know why Season 2 has to secretly be the black veterinarian's fault for not helping enough, when Derek literally made so many bad decisions the fandom originally called him a "failwolf."
BUT IT'S NOT RACISM.
Something I just realized, Deaton was the Hale emissary, he was around when Derek was younger, he had to have known about what happened with Paige. He had to have known why Derek's eyes glowed blue.
Something that irked me when watching and rewatching the show, Deaton had made a promise to Talia that if anything happened to her that he would help and look after Derek. But when Derek returns, and yes I know Derek had tied him up and punched him thinking he was the alpha, Deaton honestly didn't really help him.
When Derek was an alpha, Deaton constantly talked down to Derek and kept telling him how shitty of an alpha he was, instead of actually, ya know, helping the poor kid who had no idea how to be an alpha and was doing the best he could.
Then Deaton comes up with this plan and gets Scott to carry out how to kill Gerard, you can't tell me that wasn't the end goal, there is no way having mountain ash in your body and then getting the bite isn't supposed to kill you, and then he has Scott force Derek to bite Gerard. Deaton knows in the Hale family the bite is a gift. Deaton has to know the trauma Derek went through at only 15 years old with Paige, and yet Deaton still didn't even try to get Derek in on the plan! Which when it comes to the evil Argents, Derek would have done it willingly to defeat them. There was no need to take Derek's bodily autonomy away.
I know a lot of us hate that Scott forced Derek to bite Gerard, but after more rewatching and thinking, I realized that Deaton came up with this plan. Deaton chose to keep Derek in the dark about it. Deaton had Scott force Derek to bite Gerard. This is honestly more on Deaton, the adult, than it is Scott. Deaton was like a father figure to Scott and he trusted him completely and would do whatever was asked of him.
That's pretty fucked up for someone who promised the now dead alpha and mother of Derek, he would help and look after Derek. Deaton did Derek real dirty.

You Make me Wanna Scream at the Top of my Lungs
by Myheartwinter Jayna (Jason Genderbend), always wanting something; to be Catherine's real mother, for her real mother not to sell her to the Joker, for Talia not to exploit her, for Richard to truly love her, for Bruce not to turn her into a damned public service announcement of a good soldier, and despite all that, for Slade Wilson to be able to treat her like a father. Slade had a different mission. He didn't save Jayna from getting a batarang on her neck that day for nothing. So, did she still want to go? Did she have anywhere to go? Did she want to die, did she want to kill people, did she want to turn to Bruce right now and beg him to take her with him? No. She made up her mind, she was going to let Slade manipulate her. Saw some bad takes tonight but let me make some things clear (for the people who never read Lost Days but think they’re an authority on Talia’s relationship with Jason based one page from the last issue).
1. Talia did not make Jason feel like he was “replaced” or that “Bruce didn’t care about him”. Literally the first fucking issue ends with her telling Jason that the universe brought him back because he’s meant for great things. In fact, she’s the only person to have ever told him that his resurrection was a good thing. The only person to have ever framed him not being dead as something positive. The only.
2. Not only did Talia not “manipulate” Jason into “attempting to kill Tim”, Talia was worried about what Jason’s reaction to the new Robin would be. She wanted him to talk about his feelings with her, but he couldn’t at that moment.
3. She didn’t keep him hidden in order to “hurt Bruce”, in fact she saved him out of her love for Bruce. Lost Days says that she didn’t bring him back to Bruce because she was scared he wouldn’t be able to forgive her for not bringing Jason to him right away. It’s faulty reasoning, but it’s not malicious. The more reasonable conclusion is that she didn’t want to betray Jason’s trust by giving him away before he was ready. Which leads me to…
4. She was not manipulating Jason so she could have him as a weapon at her disposal. She admitted that she agrees with Jason’s feelings of betrayal at not having been avenged. She agrees with Jason, even while having acknowledged (back in issue #1) that Bruce would never kill (while Ra’s thought he would snap). She’s proven that she knows Bruce, well enough to know that he will never give Jason what she believes he needs; so, she makes sure Jason can take it for himself. Writers’ understanding of Talia and killing has been lacking, to say the very least, since Morrison, but this was before that. I would understand why other Talia fans might choose to ignore this part, but I think it fits that Talia believes it the duty of a parent to make whatever sacrifice to protect their child. In this case, that would be Bruce sacrificing his morals for Jason.
5. Talia never wanted Jason to fight Bruce. Jason said that he had eventually realized that her training was partly to stall him from going after Bruce’s life (because she knows he had the skill to take it). She lets him go after he admits that killing Bruce isn’t part of his plan anymore.
6. She did not let him kill his teachers because it would corrupt him. She was happy Jason killed his teachers,, but not for that reason. She had previously been worried that Ra’s was right; that the Lazarus pit had turned Jason into a sociopath, incapable of caring for anything but his revenge. Jason killing these people in order to protect innocents is proof to her that he still has some sense of personal morality, that he will not become consumed by revenge; hence, “You’re learning”. She’s not happy he’s a killer, she’s happy he still cares (and I agree with her because what is Jason Todd, if not someone who cares for victims?).

Video
Ra's al Ghul Welcomes Cheshire To His island | Young Justice Season 4 Ep...
I kind of...don’t understand the logic of this scene..
Sensei just admitted they manipulated those two girls and now the two girls are going back to what...be unconditioned by their manipulators?
I mean sure Ra’s Al Ghul isn’t working for the Light but that makes me wonder, does he have his own plans. He’s still in cohorts with Vandal Savage since when Child attacked, Vandal was making plans of evacuating all Light agents and even extending that offer to Ra’s. So they aren’t on bad terms.
There are comments underneath the video where people say Ra’s is probably good but Talia is gonna betray him because I guess that’s what she did in the comics, and she took over Leviathan?
Talia doesn’t really seem very happy in the video actually though it’s adorable to see her holding a sleeping Damian.
Jason Todd only said one line in this episode and... I can’t find the video where he talks...tbh he still sounds kinda brainwashed.
Another thing people are saying is that it’s likely Jason didn’t die since the story of Barbara’s crippling change in Young Justice (which I did not like at all), then it’s likely Jason’s ‘death’ has changed too and it’s likely he might’ve been kept from his family thought to be dead. Was possibly tortured. And then Ra’s saved him mirroring how in “Under the Red Hood”, Ra’s took Jason’s body and revived him in the Lazarus Pit. After Jason’s death in Under the Red Hood, Ra’s vowed never to do war with Batman again. Perhaps the same is happing in Young Justice
I don’t mind Ra’s redemption arc...and it would be helpful if Young Justice showed us how Ra’s got to that point...if he is suddenly ‘good’ but I kinda doubt that idk... all of this seems farfetched but creators are probably keeping us in the dark deliberately to get us hooked when the next time the Al Ghuls are said to be on screen for future seasons...if there are future seasons.
And again I don’t mind Ra’s ‘redemption’ too much I guess...though personally, i prefer him a villain
but if they are redeeming him...fuck they better not villainize Talia in turn...
sighs...I get the feeling they are in order to give us the Leviathan arc...
Because Talia does seem very...devious and like she’s plotting something in that episode with how they drew her so idk...
We’ll just have to see I guess...

You’re so right! The fandom misunderstood everything about Tim that made him Tim.
Sleep deprivation:
He over sleeps, he’s always tired and overworked buts he’s always falling asleep — rollercoasters, ignoring phone calls, even at work. It comes off more as controlled chaos, clinical awareness, and depression. Also he drinks soda.
Taking care of Bruce:
He took care of Bruce but it wasn’t so much Bruce abusing him or taking his anger out and instead every bad thing Batman (because it wasn’t always Bruce!!!!) did was while Tim Drake was supposed to stop it or because he left! He couldn’t help and something bad happened. It’s less that he was beaten into being his carer, nor did he force his way into being his moral compass, but the guilt of him not preventing these bad outcomes. His response to problems is to fix them, whether it’s through social manipulation (good or bad) or cold, calculated planning. But he cares! And he feels guilty!
Jason vs Dick:
JASON WAS NOT HIS ROBIN!!!! Tim Drake has been a dick Grayson Stan for fucking forever (even when Dick hated him in the beginning) and they have a constant push and pull relationship built on hard work, learning, and insane respect for each other. They literally mirror each other’s stress responses during their big fight over Bruce’s death (Tim was the one who ran, Dick was the one who stayed). Their fight wasn’t Dick vs Tim moreso brothers dealing with trauma.
His parents:
They weren’t abusive, not in the beginning. They were bad parents, yes, but they weren’t training him to be a robot nor were they ice parents (also the creator wanted him to have a family so that he was focused on being Robin and not Batman while still able to disappear to be Robin ergo traveling parents). His mom is fucking hugging him when they meet the Graysons (first hug my fucking ass). Yes, him and his dad are on the rocks and his dad does drop the ball and he holds a gun to Bruce’s head but he’s still with his son, he’s still a present figure scared and controlling and also traumatized from being in a coma with a dead wife. They are not good parents but they’re not evil people. Jack Drake is a tragedy of a father and y’all are making him BORING.
Drake manor:
They moved in AFTER Jack Drake woke up! Stop it!
Ra’s Al Ghul:
It’s a hundred percent racism to make his whole character surrounding Tim. Yes, he is obsessed with Tim (Paris was intense and is never handled with respect by fanon) but he existed as a character before and after. There’s a lot more villains with personal ties to Tim (no one ever tends to write about fucking BOOMERANG but that would require batfam fans actually reading a comic for once) or new ties to be invented but they keep stripping Ghul his relationship to Bruce, Damian, Talia, and his existence as an antagonist and not side character.
Uwu Tim:
Tim would talk shit while getting beaten to a pulp. He has roasted Batman to other characters multiple times. He created up the worst ever fucking superhero design (Mr Sarcastic my beloved) to be a little shit. He stole a fucking Batmobile in the Batarang budget. He held a gun to his head threatening his future self. He has half a dozen aliases, and even considers himself to be three different people when needed be. He is a snarky, loser, dedicated hot mess and y’all make him the most stereotypical autistic child to the point of savant stereotype who cries when he receives a head pat. It’s pathetic and boring and SUCKS !!! Go watch Steven universe and leave dc comics alone
I am a Tim Drake fan. I just bought over half a dozen limited edition comics and merch at comic con last fucking week. And Tim Drake stans have fucking ruined the dc fandom. Go read a comic or start tagging everything with “fanon” or “I fucking made this all up” because Jesus, I don’t know who you’re writing fanfic of but it’s not Timothy Drake.
(I just got all four of my wisdom teeth removed so this other be delirious but whatever. Tim best boy.)
i promise i do like Tim guys :(
This is probably my most unpopular opinion as a Tim stan who spends a lot of time in the parts of the fandom that constantly talk about Tim, but this fandom has a habit of making Tim "better" than he actually is and it hurts his character in the end. Anways, i'm going to make a list.
There are so many characters that we never get to see because of him. We only get to see Jack and Janet Drake as abusive because the fandom decided that they were bad parents. We only get to see Ra's al Ghul when he's obsessed with Tim. Damian rarely gets proper fanfics about his early days as Robin or Dick's time as Batman because all those fanfics are about Tim.
The way a lot of this fandom treats him gives of special snowflake vibes and I admit I do read those fics but I feel like a lot of people write him that way because that's the only characterization of Tim they know. It's honestly unrealistic that he managed to stalk highly trained bats as a young child and take photos. I joke about it too, but he canonically has the strongest morals out of all the batboys and canon makes a big deal about the fact that he didn't kill anyone while blowing up buildings. I like these tropes, I read them and all that but they kind of take me out when they're in serious fanfics.
Probably the most unpopular one but I think fanon is doing Tim a disservice by not holding him accountable for anything and villainizing other characters for him. Like people refusing to acknowledge that Tim was very rude to Damian when they first met. The whole mess with him become Red Robin was a good example of that. Canon was a mess too but basically went like this: Tim insists Bruce is alive for no real reason, Damian becomes Robin for a multitude of reasons I won't talk about now, Dick suggests Tim gets a therapist, Tim gets mad and leaves despite efforts otherwise, Dick later finds actual evidence and the all make up. If Tim had stayed in Gotham nothing would have changed because honestly it probably would have been easier for him to find most of the evidence. This is probably the one trope I won't read because it seems insane to act like Dick was crazy for not believing him and he was ostracized from the family despite the fact that he pretty much choose this way. If Tim wanted to stay with the family so much maybe he should have done that while Dick was asking him too and offering him help?
Anyways you guys can ignore this if you want to and if you have a counter point your welcoming to say it

If I wasn’t a goddamn werewolf - Pt. 2
Hi! First of all, thank you for my first 100 followers !! I can't believe someone really likes all of that crap I write here haha! I really don't know about the future of these imagines, so let me know if you want a part 3 or something. So, I just posted it here because I really want to break your heart. Here it goes!
Seems like Peter and Talia just figured out why Derek's plan to keep away from you is bad. But unfortunately for you, Peter is the one who does something about it. Word count: 2.052 Pairings: Reader x Derek Contain: Pure angst!! Warnings: English is not my main language <3 TEEN WOLF MASTERLIST PART 1 | PART 3 Gif credits here
Talia had tons of things that made her respected in the supernatural community. However, one of her most meaningful abilities was her smartness. Well, she was convicted that Derek made the best choice when he left you. But then, after thinking about the whole situation for a few days, her judgment changed entirely.
"Do you really think Derek made the best choice about back away from that girl?"
Talia was driving, with Laura at the passenger's seat. The question arose so suddenly inside that silent car that Laura looks at her mom with arched eyebrows.
"Are you still thinking about (Y/N) and Derek's drama?"
"Why? Shouldn't I?"
"Uh, well..."
"I think if someone dangerous knows about her and Derek, she could be caught easily. She doesn't know anything about the supernatural, so she's easy prey."
Laura blinks her eyes repeatedly, still trying to fit herself in the matter who suddenly appeared into the car.
"Mom, wait, I just can't understand. What are you talking about?"
Talia breaths in and talk slowly.
"I think (Y/N) is Derek's weakness. If I was someone trying to get him or manipulating him, I would love them to keep away from each other."
Laura finally caught the point her mom was talking about.
"Because she would be defenseless and easy prey. Someone could use her to get to Derek. Oh. Gotcha."
"We should do something about it."
Laura arched her eyebrows with a soft smile on her face.
"C'mon, mom. If you want to meet her, just ask her for a dinner night. I know you're curious about her."
It was Talia's turn to let escape a soft smile.
"My curiosity about her is just a secondary matter to keep her close. The main one is her safety and Derek's as well."
Laura's smartphone rings in her hands. It was Cora.
"Laura, you and mom are near?"
"Yeah, we're just a few minutes home. We are just coming back. I know something happened just from hearing your tone of voice."
"It was Peter. Come quickly. God, Derek will kill him."
Reform the old Hale house would put everyone into an aim to the hunters. So, Talia did something not too evident and bought a new home - where the exact location was unknown by the hunters. Talia parks her car in front of the new Hale house. She and her daughter get out of the car and walk inside the house with wide footsteps. When both of them enter the living room, Isaac, Boys, and Erica were frozen on the couch. Cora was on her feet, mad with rage.
"Are you fucking insane?!"
Peter was in front of her, with hands raised in front of his chest in surrender.
"But it makes sense! Look, she is completely defenseless without Derek. The Argent's could take her to manipulate him, and it would put all of us in danger. I just gave her a way to defend herself."
Laura and Talia look at each other. They don't need any explanations about what the heck happened.
"This was not your choice, Peter." Yelled Cora, with her eyes glowing with her inner wolf. It was Laura's turn to walk towards Peter, entirely pissed off.
"What the hell do you did?"
"I just bite (Y/N). Oh guys, really? Why all this drama? Now she will take care of herself, and Derek would finally take the girl."
The room is plunged into incredulity silence. Suddenly, Talia walks in Peter's direction and grabs him by his shirt. Her eyes were glowing red.
"Did you bite her after all the thing with Paige?"
"But what's the chance (Y/N)'s going to reject the bite as well, just like Paige? Don't you think it would be huge bad luck? I mean, two Derek's girlfriend dying for it? Oh, no, chances are minimal."
"There's no way for you to know, Peter!"
Talia knew that arguing with Peter would be such a waste of time. With this thought on her mind, she unleashes his shirt and lets out a long sigh.
"Where is she?" Talia looks for everyone, trying to focus on a problem per time. Erica's voice could be heard from the couch.
"She is upstairs, in Laura's bedroom. After the bite, she had an anxiety attack and just simply passed out."
"She saw you?"
"No, but she saw Cora. She was the one who found (Y/N) with Peter."
Suddenly, the front door opens. Derek got into the house just like the Devil himself, with glowing red eyes and a killer gaze. Without any hesitation, he runs in Peter's direction. Scott runs inside the house, and all of that action makes Talia predict what would happen - as well as Scott.
They were fast: Scott grabs Derek's arms in an attempt to hold him. Talia got in his way, staying in front of Derek and between him and Peter. Laura and Talia gave a step forward, prepared to put aside a fight. Isaac, Boyd, and Erica got up from the couch, full of adrenaline through their veins.
Then, Derek let out a loud and threatening roar to Peter. The one that made everyone shiver and cringe, and the one that echoed to far distance indeed.
Derek couldn't be put things straighter with his message to Peter.
The room dived in a deep silence after that. Trying to solve things - because of course that Derek was being unable to do this at that moment - Talia breaths in and break that heavy silence in the living room.
"You and you" She points her finger to Isaac and Erica "I want both of you upstairs, watching the door of Laura's bedroom. I don't want Peter near that door."
Isaac and Erica walk in wide footsteps in the direction of the stairs, going to the door of Laura's bedroom without questioning. Talia's sight was now focused on Boyd.
"I want you to take Peter to the basement. Don't let him leave, and watch him closely."
Well, after Derek's roar that did the entire house shakes, Peter even protested. He just goes in the basement direction, with Boyd near him. Now, her eyes were at her son. Without saying any word, she just shook her head in the couch direction in straighter request to Derek sit - which he did after Scott unleashes him.
Talia runs her hand through her face, already tired of all that mess. Why is it always Peter who causes the problems?
"Derek, look" She started, trying to call her son to reason "I know you are pretty pissed of and-"
"I will kill him!" He said, his eyes glowing red.
"It wouldn't solve anything, Derek. What's done is done. There's no way to come back. We need to deal with this now."
Derek let out a long sigh, with his eyes coming back to usual green. His gaze was lost in somewhere of the room. He was worried as hell because, well, he would never give you the bite. You could die, just like what happened with Paige.
Cora sat on his side, looking at her brother. With a soft voice and trying to calm him down, she said:
"Hey, calm down. She's fine."
"She's not fine, Cora." Now, Derek's voice was not full of angry, but worries. He was afraid of losing you definitely "I can smell her upstairs, and she smells like fear. She's terrified!"
It was Scott's turn to say something.
"She just needs some time, and she's not alone. We can help her to adjust. You did it with me, so you can do it with her."
"You forgot to say 'if she doesn't reject the bite'"
Cora's voice resurged into the discussion.
"Derek, she's fine. I took a peek at her, and I didn't saw any negative reactions to the bite. She's just pretty scared. I mean, of course, she is. Peter simply mutated himself in front of her."
Laura crosses her arms and looks for everyone.
"So... What will we do now?"
Derek stood up from the couch, with his mind cleared and the answer ready to be spoken.
"We will do what Scott said. We will help her and train her. She's one of us now."
No one protested. After all, it was exactly what should be done.
Derek goes upstairs, letting Laura, Talia, Cora, and Scott in the living room. When Derek approach Laura's bedroom, Isaac and Erica let the door behind and goes downstairs. They knew Derek would need some time alone with you. When he put his hand on the door's handle, he could smell your fear.
Derek breaths in. Damn, it would be so freaking hard to see you right now. He knocks on the door softly and opens it slowly. The vision of you broke every inch of his defenses.
You were hidden in the corner of the room, shrunken like a frightened puppy. Your knees were close to your chest, with your arms around your legs, sitting on the floor. Your face was wet, and your eyes were red in tears. When you saw Derek, you shrank yourself even more.
You were afraid of him.
In fact, Peter not just mutated himself in front of you. He actually told you the truth about Derek - and if he had just a few minutes more, you would know the truth about Cora and Laura as well. Now, knowing that Derek could turn himself into that creepy thing, you can feel only but fear.
Derek just stopped in front of the door. He wouldn't dare himself to take a step forward to you. Completely broken, he looks at you. His voice was low and soft.
"Cora told me what-"
"Please, call Laura."
Your voice was low and trembling. Derek could already see your cry approach. Your heart was racing, and your breathing was heavy. Derek didn't know what to say to you. At first, he just stays silent for a few seconds. Derek determines that he should take care of you and calm you down. But when he gave the first step in your direction, you shrive even more with new tears running down your face.
You were terrified by him - the one who, until yesterday, you wanted so much. Derek's heart ached with that vision of you, so scared. Scared to him, the man who loves you so much.
"(Y/N), please. I would never do anything that could hurt you."
"You already did."
His heart ached one more time with your words. It was true. Derek really had hurt you with his sharp words when both of you took different ways. Remembering all that tough words he said to you, Derek's gaze goes to the floor. He had his own reasons to say those awful things to you: It was just to keep you safe. However, you didn't know about that.
"I'm sorry." He said, after a few silent seconds.
"Call Laura. Please, call Laura."
Your voice was tired and almost a whisper. Gosh, all of that was so hard for to Derek absorb. He could deal with you making out with another man. But your fear of him...
It was too much.
"Hey. Can I talk with you?"
When Derek look back, he saw Laura with her crossed arms and a worried face. Without saying anything, he walks out of the bedroom. In the corridor, Laura just looks at him.
"Give her some time, Derek. She just needs a break. Her mind should be a full mess right now."
"I just wanted to see if she's okay."
"I know, Derek. But don't worry. We'll take care of her. Mom's making tea to calm her nerves. I'll keep you warn about everything. But, look, I think you should stay..."
"...Stay away from her for a while. Yeah. I got it."
Laura let out a long sigh, with her heart being broken into small pieces.
"Peter got everything worse, didn't he?"
It was his turn to let escape a long sigh. Derek crosses his arms.
"What do you think?"
"I'll solve this. I promise."
"Good luck with that."
Derek just simply walks away from his sister, going downstairs. Without saying a word for anyone, he took the car's key from his pocket and goes out of the house.
Derek just needed some time alone.

The Particular Abilities of Marinette, and Her Discovery of Them Chapter 1: How Marinette Became Alone in the World
MasterPost
Marinette al Ghul was not a wanted child, that was no secret to anyone including herself. She felt the scorn of her Grandfather, and the disapproval of her Mother constantly. But she never thought they would do this. Never thought they would go this far.
Marinette al Ghul is not an al Ghul anymore, and now has to navigate the world with her newfound blindness alone. Well… with the help of a little something she wasn’t expecting.
---
Marinette
mar-in-ette /mar-uh-net/ name-meaning failure, nuisance, waster-of-space, insurance
Or at least that is what her name meant to most. Most being her mother and grandfather.
Her life, or rather sex, was not exactly what either of them wanted. They wanted an heir, with strong blood…
...they wanted a male…
Marinette knew that something was inherently wrong with her. Something that despite her greatest efforts she could not control. But it was a bit sad in a way, how at three years old Marinette was scorned upon by nearly everyone she knew.
Despite this, at three years old Marinette knew many things. She knew the theory behind moth martial arts (very little physical practice, most physical training started at the age of five), she knew that the best way to get information was to keep quiet and spy on the maids (most everyone completely ignored the existence of the handmaids. To the higher ups of the League, they were not even acknowledged above an order, they were often forgotten. Because of this many spoke things in front of handmaidens and servants that would be better kept secret. (it didn’t help that the servants loved to gossip)), and what she knew, better than anyone, was that she was worthless. Or at least worthless to Ra’s.
Despite being his blood, and of the blood of some man he had hoped to be his heir, she was not treated as such. The man who fathered her was apparently a powerful man her grandfather thought highly of, and upon declining such an offer to be his heir, decided that he would have his child. Talia getting pregnant with his child for an heir would be the best option in his eyes.
And it was surprisingly easy. Within three months Talia had announced her pregnancy to Ra’s and the high-ranking generals of the League. Ra’s had never been more pleased.
His plan was going perfectly.
They had gone through all the traditional and ceremonial procedures that had been followed by any women who were pregnant and a part of the League. One of which being, a natural birth, and a blind pregnancy. Blind pregnancy meaning not using any form of technology to observe the baby before the due date.
When Marinette learned that her mother’s pregnancy was blind, she knew that this was the only reason she even existed. And she thanked every single weird old person, and their strange traditions and ceremonies that it was this way.
She saw the way Ra’s looked at her. Lips always curled down, and eyebrows always furrowed in disgust. And he wasn’t subtle with his thoughts of Marinette either. He regularly berated her-publicly-on any and all mistakes she made. Everything from doing a stance incorrectly too not getting sufficient-perfect-marks on her arithmetic tests. She felt the scorn of his voice as he would yell at her for disrespecting him when she looked in his eyes when. Or look at the ground while speaking to him. Or not arrive at certain places on time due to her tutors holding her longer than designated. Or ignoring her tutors and leaving when the official period ends.
She couldn’t do anything right. She physically could not do anything right.
It was constant. It was unforgiving.
She knew that had her mother’s pregnancy not been blind. Had they done an ultrasound and seen her gender.
Ra’s would have ordered an abortion on the spot.
She also knew that Grandfather was very tempted to kill her, regardless of her status as: living, breathing, actively conscious human being.
In addition to the old people and all their weird traditions, Marinette also thanked all of her Grandfather’s associates. While they were labelled ‘Supervillains’ (and rightfully so) they did frown upon killing one’s own blood, and Ra’s couldn’t simply kill her and because some were present at her birth and were aware of her existence.
She, again, thanked every weird old person and their strange transitions that insured she lived past the right old age of one day.
So, Marinette simply existed for one purpose.
Insurance.
She didn’t know who her father was. That was a strictly kept secret that only a few of the higher-up general and close allies knew.
She certainly didn’t. Because what child needs to know who their father was.
In all honesty she really didn’t think about who her father was too often. Only when her Grandfather would curse her existence because ‘You were given great opportunity. Your blood of two powerful lines, and you still fail at the simplest of tasks.’ (She dropped the five-pound katana they placed in her hand. She was two.)
So, she would wonder who this ‘second bloodline’ was. She kind of got the idea her father was probably Caucasian. She had a lot of features that resembled that of a Caucasian child. Then again, her father could be of mixed race considering that mother was Chinese-Arab, and she had many leaning Chinese features and very few Arab at all. So maybe, like mother, he was mixed race and she just ended up getting nearly exclusive Caucasian features.
And apparently whoever was her father didn’t stay with the League because he didn’t like her Grandfather (good judgement. Marinette didn’t really like her Grandfather either. He was mean.), but apparently, Grandfather and Mother’s ‘all else has failed’ plan was for them to use her to manipulate her father.
So yes. Insurance. A pawn in her Mother and Grandfather’s game of chess.
So, Marinette just spent her life as any of the League’s high-ranking member’s children would. Constant training, and education. From five in the morning to nine at night it was an incredibly detailed schedule. One that she abided by every day. No breaks.
Attended basic survival theory and espionage classes, her foreign language lessons (those were her favorite), her basic acrobatics classes (her second favorite classes. She liked to do cartwheels), her academics, and her basic martials arts classes.
The martial arts classes were mostly just stances and ‘the theory behind it all’ and maybe a few punches. The league had a running theme of rather than teaching a person a particular thing- whether it be math, acrobatics, or martial arts- a person would be taught the theory of it and have them understand what it was, then they would build on to that. Effective in teaching those who did understand, and those who didn’t ended up in the fire that burnt all the bodies at the end of the month. It was Marinette’s least favorite day because she was forced to watch it and it always stunk really bad.
She never complained though. Her mother would always stand there too. She didn’t see her mother often. (She didn’t really think her mother liked her.) And her mother would stand stock straight with her hands folded together in front of her, staring at the fire (Marinette didn’t even think her mother blinked! Even when the fire would flash really close and make her face go hot. Mother wouldn’t even flinch. She was kind of scary.)
And so, when her mother would stand stock straight, eyes unmoving on the flames, Marinette would too. She would stand there, stock still, even when the fire would flash up really close to her and burn her face, she would tense up and make herself stand really still.
Just like Mother.
---
Marinette was really happy. Practically bouncing as she walked to the south wing of Nanda Parbat for her mathematics class.
She had just finished with her foreign language professor and had been able to read a Mandarin book aloud in English with perfect accuracy without stuttering once. Once!
Marinette was really proud of herself. After finishing English, the professor said they would move on to French! French! She loved the way French would pronunciate their vowels. How they would roll their tongue whe-
She was immediately snapped out of her thoughts when two large arms wrapped around herself and secured her arms down by her sides. Before she could kick the person, or swivel around to see who grabbed her, or scream, she felt it.
Heat.
Across her eyes, her face.
Hot.
Hot.
Hot.
And then she felt it. The most agonizing pain she had ever experienced. Her face felt like it was melting. This wasn’t like the fire. Where it would burst out in little bouts and lick her face. It felt as if someone was taking her face and forcing it in the fire.
And now she screamed.
The weight holding her arms down disappeared and she immediately raised her hands to her face to claw at her eyes where she had felt the heat, and the pain. Her mind was screaming at her a multitude of things. She couldn’t decipher any of them past the pain.
She couldn’t think of anything past the pain.
Her screaming continued and the involuntary clawing never ceased. Even when she felt a hand on her back, and more grabbing at her wrists. Had she been in the right state of mind, she would have realized that the hands were small and frail. She would have been able to figure out that these were most likely handmaidens, or some sort of servant, and not attempted to kick them away from her while she continued to paw at herself.
She felt two arms wrap around her again and force her arms down. She only fought harder. Only kicked more violently, only screeched louder, only clawed more viciously. And in doing so, she completely missed the small pinch in her thigh. Only registered her muscles slowly getting heavier, and the slow progression of it getting harder to fight, and her voice becoming more and more sluggish by the moment.
All until eventually her thoughts slowed, and eventually ceased, and she fell unconscious.
---
The first thing Marinette would perceive was the weight across her chest, holding her down to whatever she was on. The weight was soft. A blanket. The thing she was on was comfortable. A bed.
She was tucked in very tight, and the blanket was secure along her collarbones and chest making it near impossible to wiggle out of, and the only achievable movement being her neck so she could look around the room.
And when she went to do just that. When she went to open her eyes, she… couldn’t? She tried to but she still couldn’t see. So, she tried to open them again. And she… she did? Because she was pretty sure she just blinked, but she still couldn’t see anything.
She kept blinking and blinking and blinking, until Marinette managed to pull one of her arms out from under the covers to touch her face.
Wrinkles.
Like old people.
But Marinette wasn’t old, she was three.
Only old people had wrinkles. Some of her Grandfather’s generals, and some of Mother’s handmaidens had wrinkles, but they were all old. Like fifty.
So really old.
But Marinette still felt the creases and folds around her eyes.
...around the eyes that weren’t working.
Because they were open! She was touching the lid. She was feeling herself blink.
They were open!
She kept blinking and blinking until she could feel with her finger tears running down her face and gathering in the wrinkles.
Wrinkles!
Why were there wrinkles!
Why weren’t her eyes working!
Where was she!
What was the heat!
What was that heat!
She wanted to cry. She kept blinking. A few stray tears. But she really wanted to cry.
She had never cried before, well she supposed at some point she did. A baby’s instinct was to cry, and at some point, everyone was a baby, but she knew that if a baby cried in the League, they were left alone. They would have to learn quickly that if they cried, they would only be ignored. It was the first level of training in the League.
But never in her life had the urge to cry been so intense.
That’s when Marinette let out a shrill scream similar to the one, she let out when she felt the heat, an unknown amount of time ago. And had more and more tears fall as she screamed and started to paw at her eyes again.
---
If you want to know something, you listen to the handmaidens. She knew this. That’s why when the handmaidens came into the room, after Marinette's four-and-a-half-hour breakdown, she pretended to be asleep.
They picked up all the things she had thrown around the room.
Marinette had tried to feel around and find the door after what she could guess was an hour of screaming and crying on her bed, which just turned into screaming and crying while knocking stuff over trying to find the door. And screaming and crying when finding there was no way she could open the door and screaming and crying as she gave up and got back on her bed.
And at some point, the screaming and crying ceased entirely, not a single sniffle not a single sob, and she simply laid in her bed. Eyes closed, just laid there completely limp.
She wasn’t surprised the servants thought her asleep. She didn’t think she would be able to get up if she tried. Didn’t think she would be able to speak. Didn’t think she would be able to even blink.
Her heart rate was slow, and the rising and falling of her chest reflected that, her muscles completely relaxed, and her mind… she didn’t really know where her mind was. It was in this weird limbo of complete dissociation and complete awareness of her surroundings.
It proved to be useful because with the handmaidens believing her asleep, they felt free to gossip. And a handmaiden’s gossip was the gateway to all the secrets of Nanda Parbat.
And that it was.
The more she heard, the more she felt like crying again. Like screaming again. Though she couldn’t. Her eyes stung too much to cry. Her throat throbbed too much to scream. Their words swimming around in her mind, not really piecing together.
Acid attack.
Ordered by the Head of Demon.
An heir had been conceived.
Confirmed male.
Mother had managed to seduce the same man that fathered her again. And to avoid another ‘incident’ they forgoed a blind pregnancy and all the traditions that were performed during her gestation and discovered the baby's gender as soon as it was possible.
Apparently, the baby was in an incubator in an unknown, secure location. (Marinette was confused when she heard that. Weren’t incubators for eggs?)
And with the male child, he was obviously the heir.
But the thing was… he wasn’t.
The only difference between Marinette and the boy was their gender, and many other organizations, like the League of Shadows, had forgone the tradition of male heirs being placed before their female counterparts. Meaning that in the eyes of many of Grandfather’s allies, she had a larger claim to the title of ‘Head of Demon’ than the boy.
Ra’s did not like that. So, Ra’s chose the obvious solution to the predicament…
… he blinded the first born so that they would be seen as ‘unfit’ for the title.
So now Marinette laid still on the bed, as the handmaidens walked around her, cleaning the room and continuing their gossip, a lone tear… the first tear… went down Marinette's face, running over the freshly scarred skin, and falling onto the sheets below.
---
She didn’t know how long she sat in that room. It did not take long to realize she was in one of the quarantine rooms of the medical wings of Nanda Parbat.
It became really evident when she heard footsteps getting closer to her and the people who the footsteps belonged to started prodding at her face, listing off her features:
-the area around the eye is scarred, scars will likely be permanent without immediate intervention
-iris and pupil have lost color, and have remained a ‘cloudy white’ since first procedure
-eye is unresponsive to light stimulation
-irreparable damage to cornea
-optic nerve is seared
Marinette had only started her anatomy classes a couple weeks ago. She didn’t know the words ‘cornea’ or ‘iris’ or ‘optic’ but she did understand the words ‘pupil’ and ‘nerve’, so it took a skip and a hop to come to the conclusion that the other words probably were other parts of her eyes, and she knew that nerve where the parts of her body that had to do with feeling and sensing things.
She also understood what the phrase ‘irreparable damage’ meant.
Her eyes were broken forever, and she couldn’t fix them.
---
The only thing that Marinette knew was that there were the two hands on her shoulders, guiding her through the compound.
They kind of hurt, their fingers were digging into her shoulder blades and the pain was awful, but she wasn’t going to say anything. Even if they would move their hands-which they wouldn’t-their hands on her shoulders were the only thing she knew. The only thing that was grounding her.
She knew most of the compound, but the medical wing was not one of those things. Most of the time if she did get hurt during a training exercise or lesson, she would have to deal with it on her own. The only time she remembered going to the medical wing was when she walked over hot coals and her feet needed to be wrapped for a whole week.
And besides that incident, she had never been in the medical wing before. She didn’t know all the entrances or exits, and unlike the rest of the base, she didn’t know any of the secret passageways that laid in the walls.
She had no idea how to navigate through the wing, and when people started to guide her around, she didn’t know where they were taking her.
I wasn’t until she was stopped and heard the distinct sound of something heavy swinging did, she knew where she was.
She was in her Grandfather’s ‘throne room’.
She didn’t think it would be possible for her to not recognize the sound of the heavy iron doors opening. She absolutely loathed it. Being in this room meant that she was in the presence of her Grandfather. Being in the presence of her Grandfather meant she would get a reminder that ‘she was unworthy of the blood running through her veins’.
And the ‘reminder’ basically just meant that she had to take his scolding while looking down at the ground, because god forbid, she looks in his eyes. (Last time she looked him in the eyes he ordered the guards to take her to the mean doctor. She really didn’t like the mean doctor.)
She felt the hands leave her shoulders and heard the thud of their knees hitting the ground in a bow before Marinette followed suit.
If this time being in the throne room was like her previous times there would be guards lining the wall behind Grandfather, while Mother stood slightly to the right, staring straight ahead devoid of emotion.
And Grandfather would stand front and center, glaring down at her while he condemned her for whatever she did wrong. It was really easy to do things wrong. She often ended up right here, kneeling before him while he berated her, at least once a week.
Despite her eyes not working so she couldn’t see his glare, she could feel it.
She could hear his cape do the little shwoopy thing indicating it was time for him to tell her exactly why she was here. (She was pretty sure it was because her eyes were now broken, but she never really knew with Grandfather.)
His voice boomed across the room and made herself, and everyone else in the room want to shudder, “You have proved yourself time and time again to be unequal to your peers.”
That was true. She knew she was constantly outmatching them, but Grandfather meant that she was doing worse than them. She didn’t know how, but Grandfather always said that she was lacking.
“You have constantly made a mockery of the blood that has flown in your veins.”
She knew that ‘mockery’ meant ‘to misrepresent or imitate something in an absurd manner’, (When she woke up from a nightmare, she would read a part of the dictionary to help calm herself down. It worked really well.) but Marinette wasn’t making fun of being an al Ghul? Grandfather didn’t make sense sometimes.
“And now you have proven your unworthiness by becoming disfigured.”
But Grandfather ordered it? Isn’t that what he wanted?
“And because of that…”
And she could hear the finality in his tone. The kind he used when he decided that going to the mean doctor would be a just punishment. She hated going to him, everything hurt when she was with the mean doctor. Marinette simply started to prepare herself mentally for however long she was ordered to stay with him.
She was hoping it was less than a day. Last time she messed up on her World History exam, and got a subpar score, she stayed with him for a full 24 hours.
It was the longest twenty-four hours of her life.
“...you are hereby expelled from the League of Shadows, and are to be banished from its ranks, and are stripped of your title as an ‘al Ghul’.”
Marinette, despite knowing what happened last time, rose her head in shock. She was processing what he said, and not at all understanding what was happening.
Expelled.
Banished.
Stripped.
She wasn’t understanding why there were suddenly hands on her shoulders. Why those hands were digging into her skin even harder than before.
Those hands were no longer grounding.
Expelled.
Banished.
Stripped.
She didn’t understand why they were dragging her back towards the door.
Expelled.
Banished.
Stripped.
She didn’t understand why they turned left down the corridor rather than right, the way toward the staircases that lead to the mean doctor’s office and the classrooms.
Expelled.
Banished.
Stripp-.
It wasn’t until she felt the cool air of the doors of the courtyard opening that she understood what was happening and started to scream and beg.
“Al Ghuls do not beg! Al Ghuls do not scream!” Her mother’s voice was ringing in her ears of one of her times with the mean doctor. Mother had come down specifically because she could hear her screaming and begging for the doctor to stop.
But right now, those words meant nothing, she was trying anything to get her Grandfather to stop this, to get anyone to stop this.
She tried to dig the heel of her boots into the concrete floors, tried to gain leverage and stop the guards from dragging her away, try and find a way to get away from the men and go back to her room (she wasn’t sure how she would get there; she knew the compound well but not well enough to find her way around without visual aids, but she would find a way).
When she heard the lock mechanism of the gates moving-opening- she stopped fighting.
Maybe it was the snow that was falling on her face, feeling like little pricks against her skin, or maybe it was the crushing realization of what had just happened, or maybe it was both, but she realized then…
...begging would do nothing.
That regardless of her screams and pleads for mercy, she would still be thrown out by her grandfather.
Disowned for something he ordered.
Left to die.
As she laid in the snow outside the gates after being thrown like a rag doll, as the guards who had dragged her out closed them, both guards being on the inside of those gates, leaving her on the other side.
She realized one thing…
… for the first time ever…
… she was truly alone.
