“Supervillain?”

Henchman slides down the embankment to the river where a soggy figure drags themself from the sludgy current. It’s dark and hard to see, but that hair, those shoulders… It has to be.

“Supervillain!” Henchman grabs their old boss by the arms, clammy and slick from the contaminated water, and heaves them further onto the muddy slope.

“Get away.” It’s low and throaty, more aggressive than usual too, but Henchman is doubly sure of their identity now. Everything gushes out at once.

“Where have you been? Why are you here? It’s been months! How come you didn’t—“

Supervillain’s face flashes up, revealing a short amphibian snout, green slitted eyes, and a pair of gills, just behind their jaw. “I said. Get. Away.”

I guess it would make sense for that to be it but the idea of him just phasing into existence in some random ass orphanage works great too ABSDJFH don't think i've mentioned it before but he was adopted by Gerald when he was young!! Gerald essentially wanted a successor to continue his research after he retires/dies (whichever comes first) and since Maria is ill, he decided to adopt (plus Maria would constantly complain about being bored n having nobody to play with absjdf).

I haven't really thought too hard about any of their actual parents because it's something i'm not really too bothered about focusing on and either way their current (sort of) caretakers are all characters included in canon >:)) (minus Uncle Chuck!!!)

cressida's storyline was genuinely shameful tbhhh it's like they started rewriting it in the first half of the season then completely forgot about the changes they'd made to make it fit the book plot and it just ends up making everyone else look bad😐 every character in the second half got a "penelope did nothing wrong" lobotomy so we ended up with eloise completely ignoring cressida being sold off to an horrible man (when she made every effort to support her in the first half of the season) and for some reason resenting her for pretending to be lady whistledown? Then they somehow frame her ignoring colin's offensively bad pleas as it being her turning away from redemption when all she's trying to do is escape being trapped in the country with her likely abusive aunt... and it ends with her meeting her horrible fate and it still being framed as tragic only to immediately juxtapose it with the bridgerton family winning the idgaf war while gleefully seeing off francesca and her future dead husband. The bridgertons were the villains of the season frfr
