This is it, the time has come! Mandomera Week 2022 is finally here, we can’t wait to discover what you will come up with (or already came up with if you’ve started already).

Please find the prompts here and some quick rules below, and feel free to read further on for more details.

Quick rules: Please use the hashtag #mandomeraweek2022 when you post your fanfic, art, gifset, drabble, playlist, chapter, etc. here on tumblr. There is one prompt per day of the week (7 prompts + 3 alternate prompts). You can either choose one from the General Prompts list or the NSFW Prompts list. You can even choose both! For fanfics, you can also post your writing on our ao3 collection (but no pressure!). Please remember to tag your creations properly for NSFW.

Didn’t have time to do this, unfortunately, but I’ve got something in the works, anyway. I have so much fanfic saved to read, it’s amazing!

The discourse around this ship is honestly ridiculous - ship whatever fictional characters you want. Do I really care if Dinbo or mandomera or dincobb is canon or even realistic (though I believe they are in their own ways)? NO! That’s what fanfic and shipping is for! And yes, regardless, the friendship formed between Din and Bo-Katan was so unexpected but so perfect for their characters, whether you read romantic vibes or not.

Ship and let ship. I can’t wait to read all of these amazing dinbo fics!

I want to give a special shout out to the Dinbo Discord for helping me brainstorm many of the ideas and prompts for this week. Thank you for your help and encouragement to organize this week.

It's still surreal how many of us went into season 3 convinced Din and Bo-Katan would be adversaries only for them to become great friends, found family, and now shipped together. The online discourse surrounding Dinbo can be frustrating but the positivity is louder.

Thank you again for all your hard work this week. Dinbo week is going to be an annual event every March so be on the lookout!

my problem is in my head din is bi, like theres no way hes straight, and i would like to read mlm fanfic with din! and logically it would be boba/din. but temuera morrison is like my uncle and the idea of reading anything romantic about him let alone SEXUAL feels so so so so wrong so i am resigned to mandomera (which is totally fine because i am in love with her)

Top 5 favorite moments/scenes in Star Wars (not in any particular order): 1) Ahsoka vs. Maul, 2) when Kanan agrees to teach Ezra how to be a Jedi, 3) literally every single moment when Hunter acts even the tiniest bit like a dad towards Omega, 4) Leia killing Jabba the Hutt (what an iconic moment), and 5) Cassian telling Jyn “welcome home”

An interesting fact: I’ve wanted to be a veterinarian since I was about two or three years old, and now I’m in my third year of undergrad! Only 6 more years to go until my lifelong goal and dream becomes a reality 🐾

Favorite ships and characters: Ohhhh this is going to be a long section lol. My brain is currently too tired to think of any non Star Wars ships, so I’m just going to list all of my Star Wars ships: Anidala, Obitine, Foxiyo (I saw one (1) fan art for it one time and next thing I knew I was reading fanfic after fanfic about them lol), Kanera, kinda Ezrabine but I’m honestly super on the fence about it, RebelCaptain, Han x Leia, Mandomera (I just think he would have been really cute with that Sorgan widow, and then they could have all been a cute space family 🥺), and I also lowkey ship Damerey (although I think FinnRey would have also been cute!). Totally cool if you agree or disagree with any or all of these, variety and diversity are what make fandom interesting! For favorite characters, I’m going to give a loooooong list of Star Wars and Disney characters (in no particular order): Ahsoka Tano, Leia Organa (I had recently gotten into Star Wars when I was 16 and was going through some tough times, and Leia’s hope and ability to not let anything stop her really inspired me to keep going), Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Padmé Amidala, Luke Skywalker, Captain Rex, Fives, Echo, Jesse, Hunter, Shaak Ti, Ezra Bridger (honestly the whole ghost crew too), R2-D2 (fun fact: I liked R2 years before I ever first watched Star Wars, just because he’s adorable and R2), BB-8, C-3PO (he can be kinda annoying sometimes, but how can you not love him?), Omega (she’s now officially my adopted daughter and you can’t stop me), Han Solo, Chewbacca, Poe Dameron, Din Djarin, Satine Kryze, Judy Hopps, Bolt, Moana, Simba, Mulan, Robin Hood (the Disney fox one), Pluto, Mickey Mouse, Belle, Baymax, Tadashi Hamada, Miguel (from Coco), Mike Wazowski (with one eye! Sorry, I had to, that joke literally never gets old for me), Varian from the Tangled series, and a bunch more! This is probably a longer list than you wanted, but oh well 🙃

What I love the most about it is that Din hasn't given up the Creed in it, he's allowed to settle down and raise his kid with Omera AND also still be a Mandalorian!

In a lot of fics it's either one or the other so this is very refreshing

Plus it's just plain adorable 😍

OOOO one I haven't done yet? Hmmm... I have a few in mind that I haven't started/fully developed yet but that I really want to. Definitely my Mandomera 3+1 fic and my Rebelcaptain laundromat AU 😊😊😊

Okay, I'm reading over the question again and I'm getting a different implication of the question now?? So a fanfic idea I haven't done yet I suppose is like a historical/period drama type of fic? But mayhaps I will one day!! ;))

ALRIGHTY I really just need to polish this one up and post it already LOL it's basically done Idk why I haven't yet. But here's a rough snippet from a Rebelcaptain WIP 😜

“What we should be is realistic, Cassian. We’re in the middle of a kriffing war, we’re rarely on base at the same time. Sometimes weeks go by and I don’t hear from you. What if things change? What if I want to leave? I don’t expect you to follow me.” 

And you shouldn’t have to.

“Well you didn’t really give me a choice, did you? You haven’t even asked me--”

“So you would leave behind everything?”

They both think he is going to say yes. But Cassian forces himself to draw back, take a breath. 

“I don’t know,” he answers. When she meets his eyes, they are somber. “Maybe.”

“...That’s what I thought.”

I know your pain, that’s why I had to rush to the bookstore to get a physical copy because my library had a wait list as long as the Mississippi T.T

Okay, book recs:

Keep in mind I JUST finished my Master’s and haven’t picked up a book in AGES so a lot of my recommendations are probably going to be a little old. 

The Illuminae Trilogy: More science-fiction than fantasy, but OH MAN. All three books are page turners. Basically, it is a story of a corrupt corporation trying to take over and it is told through a series of documents/testimonies/video camera feeds. My summary does not do it justice, but I definitely recommend it!

The Last True Poets of the Sea: Not a fantasy book, but so good. I read this at a dark time in my life and honestly the last chapter set me straight. It is a story about finding your worth when all seems lost and it was just what I needed. 

Darker Shade of Magic: Okay, I’m still reading this one, mostly because I am really struggling to get through it. It is not a bad book, I just do not have the attention span for slow world-building. I’m about halfway through and it just started picking up. A lot of people LOVE this trilogy, so check it out if you feel so inclined! 

Vampire Academy: Oh yes. Vampires. And the title is just as cheesy as the plot, but I love this series. It was one of my favorites when I was younger and I still have all the copies on my bookshelf. I don’t know if I could read them as an adult and still appreciate them as I did in my youth, but you should def check them out if you haven’t before. Plus, there are like seven books, so perfect for road tripping. 

A Court of Thorns and Roses: Haven’t read this series yet, but it is by the same author of Throne of Glass so it is probably guaranteed to be awesome!! It is on my to-read list!
