Our youngest kitten is so funny, I overslept my alarm for a lecture so I was lying in bed moaning how I need to track someone down and get their notes, and kitten was worried about the noise so he came up to me and started doing biscuits on my belly.

Now I have plenty of dough to make biscuits with, so I didn't mind, but I also hadn't eaten breakfast and my stomach started making sounds.

The sheer ALARM on this poor baby's face. Eyes wide, ears pinned back, looking at me in horror. Then he starts kneading faster. Ofc, my stomach and intestine start doing more noises. Kitten is distressed! Horrified! He probably thinks I'm dying and his tiny CPR is the only thing keeping me alive.

Eventually I can't keep my laughter in anymore so I get up and my stomach stops and this BABY starts meowing and cuddling up to me like he really did save my life and was overjoyed I made it by the skin of my teeth.

And then I got up and he went over to his food bowl and started meowing twice as hard.

I keep talking about catzai, but cat!chuuya...he'd be such a dapper little fellow, but also capable of organized chaos when he feels like it

Like, he has his particular toys that he enjoys playing with, and Dazai will dangle a fake mouse in front of Chuuya to no avail. Chuuya just stares then looks away and goes back to grooming himself or loafing around

He's not necessarily high maintenance, but he loves structure. If he doesn't have his food ready at 6 am sharp, he'll paw at Dazai's door and sit by it meowing until he wakes Dazai up. Or if the door's open, he'll hop onto the bed and rub his face against Dazai trying to wake him up. And if THAT doesn't work, he'll tickle Dazai's nose with his tail and force him awake with a sneeze

He's a bit of a toebitter (but only with Dazai and because Dazai's dramatic reactions to being nipped on the toes or fingers amuse Chuuya)

Chuuya will come looking for pets and chin scritches only when he wants them, but Dazai will catch that rare moment of hanging out on the couch and cat!chuuya hops up and curls up next to him to keep him company

He likes falling asleep to the motions of having his back stroked and can be a purring machine when he wants to be (before he passes out)

Doesn't get late night zoomies very often, but if he knows there's a critter in the house, he'll plant himself right by a wall and refuse to move from the spot waiting for his time to strike. If he's running through the halls, then he's chasing something, and Dazai doesn't know whether to laugh or cry that he has another mouse that got in

Cat!Chuuya would either be the type to make biscuits in the blankets while he's staring down Dazai to assert his feline dominance or will straight up make biscuits against Dazai because it's comforting and he gets to bother Dazai

’Pet Care’ as a part of He Xuan’s debts is so funny to me, like how many times during TGCF do you think Hua Cheng went “SHIT — I forgot to feed the fish.” Like sure he can send Yin Yu to go do it but just imagine that HE always feeds them, only him, no one else (he loves the fish, he’ll never admit it).

He would argue one dying would be ‘collateral’ for He Xuan’s growing debts (but how could he do that to HIS [not Blackwaters, HIS] fish?) Blackwater finally returning and seeing the fish all get super excited only to realise its Blackwater and getting upset. They have favourites and their favourite is Hua Cheng.

The way that bad tech just rules our lives has me feeling very stressed and hopeless. Everything we do now involves bad tech-- the new photo app update means you can't see the "people" section without adding it permanently to your one single photo page; this whole debacle with my zappos return; trying to track a package on my phone and the tracking link popped up a qr code to scan with my phone but it was the device I was using; the list goes on and on and on and on. And you are just in this sea of like, shitty tech and no humans and it ruling over everything you do, large and small, from trying to find a space heater to having your health care declined.

And like, obviously I do not approve of murder, a person getting murdered (assassinated??) on the streets of manhattan is and should be scary to me. But also, there is glee in SOMETHING bad happening in the face of a system where you are just completely helpless. We have so little recourse. Murder is bad!!! The idea of a "purge" is terrifying! but there is just nothing we can do to help get to a place where you feel like your opinion has an impact on the way you get to interact with the world. We essentially live in an technology oligarchy and yeah, it does feel good that SOMETHING happened. Even if our collective bloodlust is pretty upsetting in itself. It is also understandable.

Went to the Kopitiam Food Court at Sembawang MRT Station for an early dinner and decided to try this noodle stall I have not eaten from before. Picked the Premium Chicken Cutlet Noodle (特制鸡扒面) with black sauce and a side of Prawn Rolls (虾卷). Both dishes cost the same at S$5.50 each. The savoury and springy noodles were good though the chicken cutlet isn’t that premium at all. The same goes for the average tasting prawn rolls with barely prawn flavour in it.

this is absurdly pedantic i know but i think it's kind of dumb when people say that spices like ginger, clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, etc being traditional in european holiday recipes (think gingerbread and its thousands of variations) is the product of colonialism. like yeah sure colonialism helped make those spices more cheaply available and therefore widespread in europe but come on, europeans were trading across asia and north africa for those very same spices for centuries before modern transcontinental empires existed

my roommate hustled me out of the kitchen by starting to cook around me when i was MINUTES from being finished so i couldn’t take good pictures but i made one of my meal kit boxes: brussels sprout flatbreads. i added my own bacon & took the liberties of adding extra spices & balsamic to the honey drizzle, obviously
