The most moderate, nuanced and productive people I have discussed the Israel-Hamas war with have been Jews, Israelis, and people with Palestinian family. Everyone directly affected by this just wants it to stop and to have peace and safety in the region in a way that minimises the casualty count.

The most extreme and performative and vile things I've been told are by people who have no connection to this and like to think they are experts because they have covered adjacent topics during learning, or read stuff online.

If all the randos in the west would just shut up for ten minutes and let those of us actually affected, with an understanding of the history of the land and the culture and the generational trauma experienced by Jews and Palestinians alike talk, we might actually have a chance to salvage this and stop it spiraling

a little while ago, I was contacted by Amal Abushaban, a Palestinian mother of 5, for help regarding her Gofundme campaign.

In summary, after spending months raising over $13,000 for her family, she attempted to withdraw the money. She did everything right, she answered Gofundme's questions, she provided the details of her beneficiary and she contacted their support team - only to be left in the dark until an email came one day, notifying her that her campaign had been closed and all donations were now in the process of being refunded.

I tried kicking up a major fuss about it online, as well as trying to pester Gofundme Support on my own account, but all it did was send me in circles as I desperately pleaded for the Gofundme Support person I was assigned to at least re-instate the damn fund. Even worse, Amal got her first email today about refunds going through.

Regrettably, Amal is being forced to start over completely in her fundraising efforts. Her beneficiary has started this Paypal fund for her. Please donate and share!

Kamala Harris’s DNC speech, in one minute:

" We are working to end this war, such that ... the suffering in Gaza ends, and the Palestinian people can realise their right to dignity, security, freedom and self determination "

I am aware that this isn't a war, but a horriffic genocide that US and other countries like UK, Germany etc funds, but the fact that Kamala is mentioning this at all , let alone to this extent is huge. To say this much about securing freedom for the Palestinian people, self determination , dignity, and to end the suffering in Gaza is more than any US politician, let alone presidential candidate has even admitted. She is reaching her hand across the aisle, at the risk of angering dangerous Israel and its supporters- do not ignore it.

She is the most progressive candidate on Palestine that there actually is, and you can only vote out of the candidates you have

Her position on Palestine is different to the current government's and Biden's.

The only chance Palestine has here, at all, is Kamala as president.-
