Thinking about how the official White Fang uniform is red, white, and black, but Yang is the one to help Blake end racism 🙃🙃🙃

For StungKnight, would you have Blake and Yang already together and then they hook up with Jaune and make it a throuple. Or would Blake and Yang be individually interested in Jaune, confess separately and he tells them the other has confessed and the girls decide to come together and be with him together.

And when they're together how would their relationship dynamic be like? Jaune the one in charge and the girls take a submissive role?

Okay so I've toyed with this idea a few times, the way it can go are...

1.) Post Vol 9, Blake and Yang begin to realize they want a male in the mix. And outta all the cannidates the fact that Jaune is Blake's literal childhood husbando and that he stayed with Yang's sister when she couldn't (And has never once used Ruby to get to her or leered at her like most guys would) kinda makes him their top choice (Also he is the anti-Adam and the king himbo)

2.) Also Post Vol 9, Blake and Yang are having relationship troubles, this is because both girls are bi, and Yang is quick to anger and Blake tends to be quiet about her issues till it's too late. This results in the pair every once in a while getting into fights... Fights that their teammates want no part in.

Unfortunately... Jaune has plenty of experience with getting between two girls fighting thanks to his sisters. And so always has to act as mediator, thankfully several decades (At least) in a maddening twisted world like the EverAfter means that he has a good amount of experience in dealing with incredibly emotional situations and he has the aura to tank either girl when they act out.

Eventually the pair starts to emotionally rely on Jaune and then get pissed whenever he starts dating someone... And well the two can easily put two and two together from there and decide for their relationships mental and emotional health Jaune needs to be Stung.

3.) Vol 2/3, after getting closer to his friends Jaune does a bit of info searching on Raven using his sisters to see if they can find out anything. Tells the brawler what he found out, clearly says that her moms a bandit and honestly giving birth to Yang and leaving her the hell alone where probably the only two good things she ever did. Yang would lash out, punch Jaune and leave. But Jaune would understand that he did just put a lot on her and let it go and after she cools down Yang would thank him.

Coincidentally too, after Blake reveals she's a Faunus who was part of the White Fang Jaune would put two and two together and contact her estranged parents. Weather they come to physically visit her or simply send a letter Jaune would confront her and appeal to the Belladonna to reconnect to her family because as someone from a large family he understands how important they are.

And while at first Blake is rather defensive she does become incredibly grateful after her parents hash things out with her. and more so when Jaune really doesn't think he did anything special.

The two proceed to like Jaune ask him out and almost turn rival over it but whether through Nora intervening or something decide to team up

4.) Volume 9 (Mainly for shits and giggles....) After Jaune reveals himself to be her literally first crush, main star of many a puberty stricken Blake's wet dream the young Belladonna finds herself suddenly very attached to Jaune.

Very in agreement with Pyrrha's views back in Beacon and suddenly oddly defensive against Weiss for the way she said 'Mature' Emotional issue with Yang? What emotional issue with Yang. She had no probably walking across said bridge...

And now Blake is realizing how Adam, Illia, Sun and Yang all felt a odd obsession over her because her's is now focused on Jaune. And that leaves Yang with a choice, get pissed and pull a Adam which she knew Blake wouldn't like.

Get Depressed grab some tea and Pull a Ruby before Ruby even does.

Or take a page outta her mother's book, no not the biological one (Raven), the sloppy seconds one (Summer).

Weiss: Hello- Oh... It's you two.

Emerald: Wow. Aren't you cheery?

Oscar: Hey, Weiss! Uh, everything okay?

Weiss: It's fine, it's fine. Honestly, I'm a little relieved. You're the first non-couple I've seen all night.

Emerald: Really?

Oscar: Really...

Weiss: Yes, and it's a little grating on my nerves to have so many couples over with no other single people to talk to. Everyone is just finishing each other's sentences and rubbing and kissing oh so wholesomely~!

Weiss: It almost makes me want to puke.

Emerald: And a bah humbug to you, too.

Weiss: Well, thankfully you're here, so I don't have to worry about you two sucking face all night.

Oscar: Yeah...

Blake: Felt forced, didn't fit the scene, and was weirdly good for two characters in a realistic teen drama to be kissing so well together, despite neither having ANY prior relationships before each other.

Emerald: Apparently, Haven doesn't look too deep when it comes to "late age" students, which probably came from when Spiders would lend out their lackeys as students as a sort of "student exchange" between real students and gangsters.

Weiss: Really?

Oscar: Yup. It's part of why I didn't go to any sort of huntsman schooling. Well, that and my aunt needed my help with the farm.

Ozpin: (Thinking) It's sad to see how far Leo fell, after fighting so hard to get where he did.

Weiss: Oh, excuse me. There's someone at the door.

Emerald: ...What did you guys grow out there?

Oscar: Oh, uh, carrots, turnips, beets. Y'know, the usual.

Emerald: Y'know, I can't say I've ever had beets before.

Oscar: You haven't? They're really good!

Emerald: Yeah? All I see are those red blobs in cans.

Oscar: Well, yeah, but those are actually really good. Especially when you slice them up and put them in your salad.

Ilia: Oh, what do you know? You've always had someone to talk to! But some of us only had one person, and that one person then chose to leave us behind!

Weiss: It's called growing up. It's a new thing, I know, but it works wonders, I hear.

Ilia: Oh, screw you!

Weiss: ...Wait. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have been so hostile with you. I've... I know what you mean by being left behind. Everyone at this party is someone I got close to or was the reason they left. It's not easy being single in a party of couples, but... But the least we can do when we're single is to be happily single. So... What say we be happily single... together. Just for tonight.

Bumbleby Bike Gang AU 2/?

"Whatever took you so long, pet?" Adam asked as Blake sat next to him. His breath smelled like alcohol.

"I was just talking to the bartender" she replied "She's nice"

"The waitress is nice too, right guys?" the red haired man asked the group and they all yelped in agreement.

The truth was talking to Yang was a nice break from her usual days. Being with the gang all the time was not always her cup of tea. Specially when her parents had left two years ago. Things had changed quite a lot since Adam became leader. What was once a group of people enjoying their rides and helping the communities they visited had become a lot more boisterous. They would get into fights and sometimes get involved with drugs and dealers. She didn't like that.

A part of her wanted to leave but she couldn't imagine a different life for herself. She had always been on the road. Besides, Adam would more than likely not allow it and she feared him just as much as she loved him. It was complicated. Their relationship had started when she was young and her parents didn't really like it. But there was something magnetic about him, about the way he made her feel. So it was no surprise when he took over.

They left when the sun was already up and Blake made sure to wave at Yang as they left. The blonde waved back with a grin that made her smile. As usual, they headed to the closest motel to spend the night. The plan was to stay in town for a week, rest up, fuel up and leave. Adam had some contacts he wanted to make business with and Blake had decided to ignore the nature of such ventures.

"Come over here, love" Adam called her from the bed, offering his hand. His eyes were glossy and his speech was slurred. She complied and grabbed his hand, sitting on his lap. They kissed and it tasted like beer. When they first got together Adam would make her feel like the luckiest girl in the world. He was kind to her and treated her with love and respect. The first time they spent a night together, her first ever sexual experience, it was beautiful and fulfilling. As time passed things changed and she would find herself enjoying intimacy with him less every time.

When she woke up, Adam was passed out. She didn't feel like staying in the room so she showered, got dressed and hedead outside after leaving the man a note. Blake headed to the reception and asked the woman behind the counter for directions to the local library. Patch seemed like a nice town. Too quiet and peaceful for The White Fang to disturb.

She was a couple of blocks away from the library when she saw her. Yang was walking towards her with a smaller younger girl she assumed was her little sister Ruby. When their eyes met her heart stopped.

"Hey, you!" the blonde greeted her.

"Hey, yourself" Blake greeted back.

"Hello, I'm Ruby" the younger girl introduced herself.

"Nice to meet you, Ruby"

"You headed to the library?" Yang guessed.

"Yeah" Blake answered "The guys are all passed out so I thought I get some reading done. Where are you headed?"

"We're gonna get some ice cream to celebrate this one's amazing grades on her finals" Yang replied "Wanna come with?"

"Yes" the black haired girl said without even thinking. Spending time with the bartender seemed like an awesome plan. There was something about her that made her feel like they had met many times before even if they had only met last night.

They headed to a local ice cream shop and Yang bought all of them a double with fudge. They laughed a lot and Blake felt sincerly comfortable and happy. It was a nice change of pace. She hand't really realized how dull her days had become. How rutinary her life had become and how much she was choosing to ignore just to go by. This was different. They lost track of time and when Blake looked at her phone she saw several missed calls from Adam and some angry texts asking where she was.

"I think I better get back" she said, anxiety building up inside of her. Yang noticed.

"Is everything all right?" she asked, gently placing a hand on Blake's shoulder.

"Yeah" she lied "I just have to leave right now" she said standing up "Thanks a lot for the ice cream. I had a very nice time"

"We had a nice time too" Ruby replied with a smile.

"Are you sure you are all right?" Yang asked again with a sincere look of worry on her face. Something had drastically changed in Blake's demeanor as soon as she looked at her phone and she had a very good idea of what it was about. More precisely who it was about.

"I'm fine" she lied again as the anxiety got worse. She should have checked her phone before. She should have answered his calls "See you soon I hope"

"Let me give you my number" the blonde offered and Blake, in spite of how bad she felt, took the time to save the other girl's contact and give hers back.

She walked to the motel as fast as she could without running. She went to her and Adam's room and found him sitting on the bed with a scary look on his face. She immediately started trembling in fear.

"Where the fuck where you, Blake?" he said "I read your little note so I waited but then you wouldn't pick up the fucking phone or answer any of my messages. What the fuck were you doing that was so important you had no time for me?"

"I was at the library so I put it on silent mode and I got distracted by the..." she couldn't finish the sentence. Adam stood up and slaped her hard on the face.

"I don't care for your fucking excuses, Blake" he said, inches away from her face "When I call you, you answer"

"I'm sorry, Adam" she said, trying not to cry. Her cheek hurt like hell. It wasn't the first time he had been violent with her and she knew it was her fault. If only she had answered her phone.

"I don't care if you are sorry" Adam said as he grabbed her by the hair and put her against the wall, smashing her head against it in the process "You need to be punished so you can learn" he kissed her violently, his hand moving to her neck.

"I'm sorry, Adam" she said again, finally breaking down and crying. She was so scared.

"You belong to me, Blake. Tell me you are mine"

"I'm yours" she replied "I belong to you"

"That's good, love" he said, finally letting go and backing away from her "I don't like to get mad at you. I love you, Blake"

"I know" Blake replied, walking towards the bathroom. She looked at herself in the mirror and could see how her cheek was starting to bruise. Her left eye was red. Why did she put up with this?

"I have some business today so me and the guys will be leaving for the day. I want you to wait here for me, okay?"

"Okay" she answered, feeling happy that Adam was not going to be around. When he left she layed down on the bed and looked at her phone. She had one new message.

Yang: Are you okay?

She was anything but okay. She was a mess. A beaten up, humilliated and sad mess. But somehow the thought of Yang made the tears disappear. She could even feel a little bit of joy trying to make its way through.

Blake: Yeah. I was just late for some White Fang thing.

Yang: You looked pale when you left. You scared me.

Blake: I'm sorry. I didn't mean to worry you. I'm fine.

Yang: How about I take you out tomorrow?

The offer was tempting, even if it meant that she could get in trouble with Adam. She could come up with some excuse. It was worth it if she could spend time with Yang. Somehow she smiled.

Blake: Sure. Let's do it.

Can you pretty please write Ruby having to tell Ren and Nora why Jaune isn't with em after coming back?

(Get ready for pain y'all. Also included Oscar, because he deserves it.)

The journey back to Remnant is not pleasant, and Ruby would not recommend it.

Sure, she’s had her fair share of de-materialization, probably more than most people due to the nature of her Semblance. But this is a new flavor of awful. 

She feels like she’s being squeezed down a very thin tube, the pressure crushing all the air out of her lungs. Darkness presses in on her eyes like a weight, and after the sensory overload of the Ever After her head pounds from the deafening silence and blackness. 

Just when she’s sure she’s going to suffocate, the pressure releases. Light and sound come rushing back. And Ruby falls in a shaking heap in a dune of sand.

For a split second she’s horrified. Her stretched thin hope takes another blow as her exhausted mind is convinced that she’s back on the beach. They’re never going to make it out of here.

At least Jaune won’t be alone.

Ruby coughs out a lungful of sand and the spell is broken. Precious oxygen fills her brain with thoughts. The sand isn’t gold enough, the sky isn’t blue enough. There is only one sun shining down and that gods damned tree is nowhere in sight.

Just the forever rolling dunes of the Vacuo desert.

She smiles weakly. “We made it…”

And her head thuds into the ground as her second interdimensional travel in so many days takes its toll.

“Holy shit, Ruby!” A familiar and welcome voice reaches her, bubblegum pink. The sound of shifting sand accompanies rapid footsteps. “Ren, get over here! I found Ruby!!” 

She should respond, probably. “Mmmphhh.” Yes, great job, Ruby. Perfectly articulate.

“Nonono shhh shh,” Nora coos, Ruby’s brain catching up enough to identify the voice. “You don’t need to talk, I’ve gotcha.” Her body is rolled over, her head cradled in Nora’s lap. 

Ruby’s eyes crack open, and the blur of orange above her eventually resolves into Nora’s smiling, exhausted face. “Heyyyy... You’re fine, you’re safe.” The sky behind her is dark, the familiar shattered moon creating a halo of glow through her friend’s orange hair. Nora turns to holler over her shoulder.  “REN!!!” 

“What?” Ren’s distant voice sounds from over a dune.

“Get your ass over here!!”

“I’m helping Sun with Yang!”

Ruby’s eyes fly open, though she isn’t exactly sure when they closed. Where the heck is the rest of her team? “Yang?” she slurs adrenaline fighting dizziness as she attempts to struggle upright. “Where’s-”

“She’s fine, so’s Weiss and Blake,” Nora reassures her. “Here lemme just-” One arm slides under Ruby’s legs and the other nestles her head against Nora’s shoulder. “Don’t want you hurting yourself,” Nora explains as she lifts Ruby and begins trotting off towards Ren’s voice.

It feels like a lifetime ago that Nora was the one being carried, but it can’t have been more than a few days. Gods, how much time has passed for team ALPN while RWBY has been trapped in the Ever After?

Nora explains about Sun finding Blake first when he was on patrol. Neptune found Weiss while his partner was calling for assistance. “We got here just as they started digging Yang out of the sand,” Nora says. She sounds exhausted, and now just because she’s carrying Ruby. “I found you, and here we are.”

“They’re okay?” Ruby asks, thankful for the strength returning to her voice.

“Yeah, they’re all fine. Yang’s still half buried, but she keeps asking about Blake so we’re taking that as a good sign.” Nora snorts. “You should see Weiss. Covered in sand.” Ruby watches as her smile fades away. “I just sort of hoped that if you guys were back then maybe-”

“Oof!” Nora’s words are cut off as Ruby’s vision fills with fluffy brown hair and Oscar Pine envelops them both in an awkward yet crushing hug.

“We thought you all died,” he sobs into her shoulder. Ruby distantly realizes she’s shaking. Huh. That’s new.

“Ruby.” Ren jogs up to them as Oscar finally releases them. “Thank gods.”

Behind him, Sun and Blake are digging Yang out of a dune, and Weiss is wrapped in Winter’s arms. Ruby’s heart feels tight at the sight, and yet lighter than it’s been in recent memory. Ren helps her down from Nora’s arms. Her legs are shaky as a newborn calf, but she’s standing. Nora and Oscar keep an arm around her shoulders to keep her upright.

Or maybe to keep her from vanishing again. 

Ren’s smile is warm and more genuine than she’d seen since before Atlas. “It’s… I’m glad you’re back.” His voice is thick with unshed tears as he wraps her in a hug.

 “I’m glad to be back.” And it’s sort of shocking when she realizes that… she is happy to be back. “Sorry for worrying you guys.” Ren pulls away and holds her at arm’s length. His eyes flick over her, focusing on something she can’t see and Ruby shifts awkwardly. “What’s uh… what’s up?”

“He’s not here, is he?” Ren says it quietly, almost whispers, and Ruby jolts.

“It has to be me, you’re all the ones who matter.”

“What?! That’s bullshit, Jaune, what about your team?!”

“They don’t need me, not anymore. Or at least not as much as Remnant needs you guys.”

“You can’t believe-”

“You’re okay with just staying here alone?!”

“Of course not. But I’ve been here the longest and… I’ll be fine.”

“Your family, you can’t-”

“You guys are my family, too! Guys please don’t make this harder than it already is-”

“No! We’ll figure out another way, we just need-”

"There isn’t another way! Please just… tell Ren and Nora I love them. And Oscar too. And tell them I’m sorry.”

“Jaune…”

“It’s what she would do.” His voice is thick with tears. He's shaking, and for a moment Ruby realizes that Jaune doesn't want this any more than they do. There just isn't another choice to make.

He’s looking at Ruby through the door. His hand is on Pyrrha’s sash and he’s smiling even as tears run down his cheeks. “Bye guys.” 

And the door closes.

Ruby sucks in a gasp and stumbles back. Oscar catches her, already blurting worried assurances, but Nora looks sharply from Ren to Ruby, all her happy-go-lucky masks gone in the face of her partner’s soul-searching truth.

Distantly Ruby realizes that the sounds of digging have halted and the occupants of the sandy valley are all watching their exchange.  “No. No that’s not true,” Nora insists. “That’s impossible!” But Ren’s expression is stony, and Ruby’s eyes are welling with tears. 

Nora’s grip slackens on Ruby and she falls to the ground. Her fists pound the sand, and she screams until her lungs have no breath, until the air is filled with sobs. Ren is a statue, and she doesn’t have to have his Semblance to see the emotions whirling in a tornado within him. Oscar’s teary expression is distant in that way it always is when he’s talking to Ozpin. Eventually his face tightens and he sinks slowly to the ground, his face in his hands.

“Jaune wanted…” Ruby swallows thickly, tears threatening to steal her words. Somehow her eyes find Yang's, she can't look at the remaining members of ALPN. But this was the last thing her best friend ever asked of her, so she has to try. “He wanted me to say he loves you guys… more than anything.”

“And he’s sorry.”

Reentering the RWBY fandom apparently anyway if I was gonna change the characterization of most of the characters (which I would) here's what I would have done

More emphasis earlier on with Ruby as an inventor character. Crescent Rose is "one of the most dangerous weapons ever designed" and that's about as far as they go with that plot point. Make Ruby see her problem solving and leadership through the lense of building something; have her struggle to reconcile with her teammates as people and not just cogs.

Make Blake actually representative of her theme song. "From Shadows" is about fighting against a world of discrimination and hatred; Blake is a centrist princess who later tells her people that if they're just model minority enough discrimination will go away. Go with her originally shown backstory of (seemingly) being a kid without anyone, in the thick of systemic oppression. Her breaking away from the White Fang shouldn't be a case of 'but violent resistance is bad guys ):'; it's entirely possible to have ideological disagreements without that.

I am absolutely not opposed to the idea of Adam Taurus; people use leftist spaces for their own personal gain and use social clout to cover their abuse. I know people like that. However, make it clear Adam's abuse of Blake is the bad thing, not the idea of violent resistance at all.

Actually have Weiss and Blake's conflict be explored and resolved beyond Weiss just going "I'm not racist bc we're teammates now"

Actually have Ruby and Weiss's conflict be explored and resolved beyond Weiss going "I'm gonna be the best teammate ever now" after being told so by her professor

More exploration into Tai, Yang, and Ruby's dynamic, and how it affected both sisters.

Give Pyrrah a Patroclus character, considering she's meant to be representative of Achilles. Also, do more with that inspiration - beyond her being shot in the heel prior to her death there's very little done in the show alluding to Achilles.

...take out Jaune. And Neptune.

Use Sun and Blake's contrasting attitudes about Faunus liberation and revolution to talk about the differences between how Faunus are treated in different places as well as for ideology.

Contrasting, given Blake is actually a leftist and not all "guys please protest nicely my dad who's the king of paradise told me so"

...that's only about up to Volume 3. Huh

Elaborate more on the parallels between RWBY and their respective villains. Blake and Adam, Yang and Mercury (this one makes me so angry), Cinder and Ruby. I would say Emerald and Weiss but this one was given even less ground than Yang and Mercury. It could have been interesting, had they actually tried to develop it.

So remember how Raven hyped up Oz as doing something awful to her and Qrow? And then they... turn into birds? Uh. Give that some actual merit - something like what Oz told Pyrrah about her being chosen for the next Fall Maiden. Actually taking advantage of children with hero complexes who feel responsible for everyone and/or indebted to him.

Actually have Weiss struggle with the biases she was raised with her whole life.

Gave Blake and Ruby have more than 3 conversations.

Have Weiss and Yang have more than a few conversations.

There's more but I'm tired.

Saw this last night and thought it was hella fun, couldn't help but think of more

John "Wildbow" McCrae: Blake is the main character, her relationship with Yang is actually MORE homoerotic but every few episodes someone stares at the camera and says "Despite what it may seem, we/they are both heterosexual and anyone who thinks otherwise is reading too much into it." They never kiss. The story is much more critical of Huntsmen as essentially law enforcement who can only be policed by themselves, but how he handles the White Fang is impossible to tell. My best guess is they're just faunus criminals and the racism aspect is erased. The semblances are weirdly detailed and creative, Ozpin is much more of an amoral background figure willing to do anything to keep Salem from winning, and crucially the final battle against Salem happens after a horrible Grimm plague sweeps Remnant/the world starts falling into the Ever After for some reason. Jaune and Ren die when Beacon falls, and despite being portrayed as an uncompromising authoritarian assshit early on, Ironwood is right about everything in the Atlas arc for some reason. Emerald is the only canonically gay character and is even more obsessed with Cinder.

Tatsuki Fujimoto: Aura grants varying levels of regeneration, which is off-screen healing for some characters, but others (mostly the main characters) heal closer to Agni/Denji levels. Penny's first death has no build up, it just happens mid-fight, and the fall of Beacon end up killing JNPR, most of Beacon's staff (including Glynda, who is sexually manipulating at least one underage student), and Sun's team. Penny 2 doesn't have any of Penny's memories but Ruby pretends she does to cope with Penny 1's death. When Emerald joins the good guys, there's a shot of them all hugging before someone, unable to forgive her for everything, muders her in cold blood. V8 ends with Cinder/Salem killing all of RWBY except Ruby herself, whose V9 breakdown has been more explicitly hinted at and teased since V1. Because of time shenanigans in the Ever After (which is styled around movie theatres instead of fantasy locations surrounding Big Tree) Ruby is worshipped as a God when she gets back, because Fujimoto just can't help himself. The only problem with that last one is I'm not sure Fujimoto could wait that long to give his main character a cult...

RWBY If It Were Written By…

Alan Moore: Moore cuts the middleman completely and goes straight into portraying Huntsmen as a super powered warrior caste master race making all the decisions and being treated as royalty by all the masses of civilians trying to keep them happy and willing to protect them. And because this is an Alan Moore story now, Ruby is the result of Tai taking out his drunken frustrations on Summer after she tried to help him after Raven left and the only reason Summer married him was because she didn’t want her kid to grow up to be a bastard. Also the gods are now snakes with Moore’s head.

Thomas Astruc: The show never leaves Beacon and by the time Volume 14’s come around we’re still waiting for Jaune and Pyrrha to finally figure out each other’s feelings.

Garth Ennis: Garth rips the entire concept of teenagers being involved in military operations and public safety to shreds. The over the top, rule of cool weapons are routinely the punchline to jokes like Yang losing both arms because her gauntlets jammed and backfired. Some variant of the Happy Huntresses are our protagonists and they all despise the Huntsmen system.

Genndy Tartakovsky: More emphasis on the action, a lot less dialogue and story, so no more White Fang.

Alex Hirsch: Lots of loredump mysteries with more character-focus before he eventually micromanages himself into exhaustion, gets tired of the show, and rushes an ending where Cinder absorbs Salem’s power, attacks Beacon and of the 4 potential ways to beat her that Hirsch had set up, is defeated via the most convoluted one.

Matt Trey & Parker Stone: RWBY Chibi with more plot sometimes, there’s also less than 6 voice actors on the entire cast. A running gag is killing Ozpin randomly just for him to come back as a completely new person the very next episode. But then after a few seasons the show starts focusing an inordinate amount of time on Tai for some reason. Also there’s an occasional musical number.

Robert Kirkman: Less fairytale aesthetic and more anime and takes plenty of passive aggressive meta shots at the anime industry and storytelling with a big status quo shift every little bit. Salem gets killed anticlimactically as a joke in the first few volumes. Other antagonists are more clearly inspired by other anime characters the way Invincible does a lot of it’s villains. And of the several redemption arcs the story would have, only one of them would be any decent.

Greg Farshty: Salem’s schemes are insanely convoluted and probably end with her becoming an actual god. She’s always getting a different group of villains for RWBY to fight every so often. There’s a prequel season about the STRQ days and a later on a couple seasons where JNPR are the protagonists for a bit when RWBY get captured and then do their own thing for awhile. But then there’s some pretty bad retcons in the final few seasons that pisses off a lot of people.

Might make a few more of these later. It was kinda fun.

After the heartache of the Volume 8 finale, I would like to return to a happier point in the show and suggest some memes/jokes that I like to think the students at Beacon would have had. More closely inline with the RWBY Chibi-verse, than the actual show - where Nothing Bad Ever Happened.

"Who's child is this?" being used to refer to Ruby - the youngest student at Beacon - when she's left unsupervised and/or doing something odd.

"I'd let Glynda punish/whip me for one corn chip."

Every now and again "Missing - Have you seen this person?" posters for Professor Peach will pop up around campus. No one knows who it is that keeps making them.

Vomit Boy candids being taken and shared any time Jaune is Suffering™️ on some form of transport.

The Great One plush of Pyrrha exists in-universe... and becomes the go-to prize for any stupid competition between the students. There's at least a dozen of these dolls on campus now, owned by various people and won as "spoils of war."

There's a dedicated chalkboard in the combat room for tallying how many times Nora has launched someone into the stratosphere. Notable mentions are listed on the board alongside her of other people who have achieved this feat - including Yang, Yatsuhashi, and Glynda.

(She launched both Port and Oobleck one day when they kept annoying her. Sometimes, their screams can still be heard if you listen closely enough.)

"There's that old guy again..." "Oh, shopkeep? Yea, he's everywhere. Don't think too much about it."

This leads to "Don't think too much about it." becoming something of a slogan for every time anything unusual happens.

"Candy canes, kids! One for Sun Wukong, one for Yang Xiao-Long, ooh four for Coco Adel, you go Coco!"

Team STRQ having something akin to legend status at Beacon, whispered in hushed voices for fear and reverence of their names. There's a war between the students regarding team JNPR as their successors vs. the students who insist JNPR are not anywhere near worthy of such a title.

"How many team CRDLs does it take to beat Pyrrha?"

Blurry fancam-style videos of the Qrow vs. Winter fight out in the courtyard being traded around like baseball cards with other students. Some try and manufacture a "rematch" of this with the materials they've got - trying to get Ruby and Weiss to fight each other. 

That weird sing-song "HellOooOo~" that Yang sometimes does being mimicked by everyone. And I mean everyone.

Any time there's a significant lull in conversations or classes, someone often asks "Why are we here?" which never fails to make everyone in the vicinity groan.

"Ozpin is compensating for something" jokes about his office chair - including at least one popular response being "it's the war crimes", without them knowing just how accurate they actually are.

"On a scale of Ren-Nora, how excited do you want me to be?"

"Ladies Love Lavender" referring to Lisa Lavender having her own in-universe fandom mostly comprised of women. (Lavender being associated with lesbians irl, and I just think this would be funny.)

The sight of Ren just picking up and carrying Nora away from something is so commonplace that other people start doing it to their friends when they Need To Stop.

"Why is Blake's bow so big?" "Because it's full of secrets."

Blake being a closet faunus being such a poorly hidden secret that by the time she finally takes off the bow no one actually even notices. 

The betting pool surrounding exactly what it is in Ozpin's cup - coffee being one of the least popular options, and souls being the top choice.

Using Yatsuhasi as a unit of measurement. 

Photoshopping adorable images of Velvet onto various "cute" animal memes.

Everyone wanting to be spanked by Coco Adel. 

"I'd let Fox blow me up too."

"Why is Weiss' hair so long?" "To reflect the length of her father's crimes."

Everyone mimicking Pyrrha's memetic "I'm sorry!" anytime they apologise for anything. Even going as far to do it while apologising to things that don't require apologies - like inanimate objects.

"Are Port and Oobleck, you know... 💅?"

In fact, just that 💅 being used to refer to a large number of people at Beacon. Actual LGBT students picking this up and using it towards grimm when they're attacked to question the sexuality/homophobia of the grimm targeting them over their peers.

Threatening Neptune with water anytime he flirts with a girl who is clearly Not Interested in him.

No one knowing who, exactly, the other two members of team SSSN are - with wild theories abounding about who they may be. Popular choices include Shopkeep, Zwei, and Professor Peach.

This persists even after their tournament fights where they're shown. Scarlet and Sage are perfectly content with this, and participate.

"Arslan's/Pyrrha's back must be aching from constantly carrying her entire team."

And the respective responses of, "Reese/Nora are alright."

Similar jokes about Glynda also carrying the entire faculty/academy on her back.

"Salutations!"

The war between the "Irondaddy" fanbase, and his haters - who refer to him with various derogatory versions of his name. "Metalpenis", "Coppercock", "Chromeshaft", etc.

Anytime someone is doing something ~questionable~ donning a pair of glasses and/or imitating Oz or Oobleck pushing them back up their nose with accompanying menacing body language. (Kubrick Stare optional.)

Mercury having a foot fetish, courtesy of the people who caught him sniffing shoes at the festival.

"Did <character> just die?" "You know, it was really unclear." any time someone takes some insane damage in a fight and isn't seen for some time afterwards.

Everyone trying to locate and get a pic of the ~mysterious~ fourth member of team CMSN, who has only ever been spotted once - her tournament fight in the first round. Beacon's version of "Where's Wally?"

The Sympathy Fund for Emerald and her one-sided crush on Cinder. "She could honestly do so much better."

People offering themselves up as tribute to spar with Pyrrha/Yang/Coco/Sun just so they can be beaten up by the hottest people on campus.

"I drink milk!" being used as a defensive argument in wildly inappropriate contexts.

Naming grimm really boring names and attempting to keep them as pets. 

The innumerous times Port has allowed a "zoo-break" to happen under his watch and everyone having to assist in recovering his prized subjects.

"Where the fuck are all the fourth years?" "Ozpin's soul collection."

Candid shots of Glynda Suffering™️ being shared similarly to the ones of Vomit Boy.

Ranking people based on their Patience Levels - Pyrrha, Ren, Glynda, Emerald, and Fox being frequent top markers based on the bullshit they put up with from their respective teams.

"Saint Pyrrha" being a common nickname for her, and her neverending niceness towards people who absolutely do not not deserve it.

Weiss' "Hey!" being replicated amongst the student body and slowly growing more and more high-pitched in its replication until it eventually just becomes a shrill noise. Even so, everyone still knows what it means - and Weiss is absolutely unamused by all of this.

In fact, a lot of early!Weiss' comments being mercilessly mocked by everyone - "I'm a victim!" being one of them.

Renowned fear permitting amongst the student body regarding Yang's red eyes meaning Serious Business. Morphs into references of "going full Yang" to mean having rage-fuelled temper tantrums.

"Never miss a beat, never miss a beat" becoming a mantra for focusing on a task. This inspires several remixes of Neon saying it, and again with no one knowing who it is making them.

By all means, feel free to add any more that you all think of! I could use a laugh!

Ok so uh hi new guy here. Had some ideas for a RWBY Pokémon trainer AU kinda thing. So uh here goes.

These are my team ideas and how they got them thoughts for Team RWBY. This also includes Delta Pokémon and Megas from the fan game Pokemon Insurgence.

Ruby’s Team:

1. Budew that Yang helped her catch as her starter from a young age. By the time the show starts it’s already a Roserade.

2. Zoroark, formerly Summer’s Pokémon. Fiercely protective of Ruby and loyal to the family.

3. Scizor. Formerly Summer’s as well, a reliable battler and the mega on both Ruby and Summer’s teams.

4. Type-Null. A mysterious Pokémon Ruby found at Beacon in a lab belonging to an ex-professor who had been fired from Beacon (a reference to the villain of Grimm Eclipse the video game). It would evolve during the events of Vale’s Fall.

5. Drilbur, a Pokémon Ruby befriended at Mountain Glenn during Volume 2 and evolves into Excadrill during the fight at Haven Academy.

6. Delta Emolga aka Little, a strange Pokémon that Ruby encounters when separated from everyone on Ever After.

I would say in this AU that because of how Tai supposedly falls apart from the loss of Summer, Ruby ends up growing closer to Pokémon to the point where she can hear them similar to N and Iris. I would also say that in this AU that silver eyes allow the ones with them to activate bond based gimmicks like Megas without the components, so long as you are aware of them. For that reason alone, that kind of thing is very rare to find in Remnant.

Weiss’s Team:

1. A Snorunt that becomes a Froslass before the beginning of series 1. A gift from Winter and has gone through the same sort of upbringing as Weiss so they’re MIRROR images of each other.

2. Hisuian Sneasal, a gift from Winter to congratulate Weiss on getting into Beacon but one with the lesson of how to be around those with more “wild and erratic behaviour” like Weiss’s classmates. Becomes a Sneasler upon the return to Atlas

3. A Ralts caught during the school trip to the Forever Fall Forest. It would help Weiss with her emotions as her withdrawal from them would only cause Ralts harm. As Weiss learns to accept her emotions and come into her own, Ralts would evolve into Kirlia by Series 1’s end with the acceptance of Blake; and into Gardevoir when Weiss speaks out for her classmates at her father’s party in season 4. This would become one of her Megas during the Hound’s attack in Volume 8.

4. Zangoose, a Pokémon given to her by Raven as form of an apology for the kidnapping (and also to curry favour with Yang). A brutal fighter but becomes loyal seeing how Jacques affects Weiss, and how Weiss defends him from Jacques attempting to “get rid of the vermin”.

5. Absol, a Pokémon caught in Atlas that comes to warn them about Tyrian. It would later come out of it’s pokeball when Ironwood turns on them and any additional time they were in serious danger. It would come bearing a mega stone, as it was secretly once Klein’s Pokémon.

6. Kubfu, a gift from Willow after the attack on the Schnee manor. Given to Weiss for her strength and courage. It would evolve into the Multi-Strike Urshifu in Ever After from experiencing the vastness of the ocean.

Blake’s Team:

1. Litten, a gift from Ghira to ensure Blake would have the strength to follow her convictions. It would be a Torracat by series start and evolve into Incineroar during the battle at the Belladonna Manor.

2. Riolu, a gift from Kalli to ensure Blake was surrounded by those she could trust. This little one would be the first indication that something was wrong with Adam and the White Fang. It would evolve into Lucario in the fight where Blake and Sun meet on the ship in vol 4; and become her mega during the final fight against Adam.

3. Starly, a common Pokémon she catches during the forest trial back in Vol 1 which she uses to find the shrine with the relics in record time. It evolves in the fight with Roman’s mech (that looks like a tyranitar in this au) into Staravia; and evolves again into Staraptor to save Blake and Yang from Adam in Vol 3’s Fall of Vale.

4. Axew, a cute little fella she catches in Menagerie while scouting for Illia. It evolves into Fraxure in the charge against the White Fang at Haven; and into Haxorus to save her from the acid spitting Grimm at Schnee Manor. It is also shiny and Blake finds the mega stone for it in Ever After.

5. Sobble, found in the fountain of the town from Volume 6, evolves into Drizzile while fighting the mech and then into Inteleon against the Ace Ops.

6. Johtoan Sneasal, befriended in the dust mines of Atlas after it got its leg caught in rock and was freed by Blake. Very loyal and one of the few to keep up with her on rooftops. Evolves into Weavile after being given a razor claw by Robyn for telling her about Ironwood’s plans.

Yang’s team:

1. Jangmo-o, her starter given to her by Tai (the child of his own Kommo-o). Yang’s sparring partner, evolves into Hakamo-o in the Yellow Trailer and then again into Kommo-o in the final fight against Adam. Can use it’s Z-Move.

2. Teddiursa, a Pokémon she caught in Patch, is an Ursaring by Vol 1, evolves again into Ursaluna in Volume 4 to give Yang the fire to go back into the world.

3. Impidimp, a Pokémon she catches during her recovery period in Vol 4. Becomes Morgrem when she confronts Raven at her camp and becomes Grimmsnarl against the Ace Ops.

4. Murkrow, a gift from Raven (a child of Raven’s Honchkrow), the behaviour of it is a glimpse at how Raven would’ve raised Yang, evolves into Honchkrow during the rescue of Oscar.

5. Blitzle, a Pokémon caught in mistral to help tow her bike to the farm in Vol 6. Strong and hardy, it evolves into Zebstrika to save Ruby from Neo in Vol 8. Yang would find it’s mega stone in Ever After.

6 Torchic, upon arriving in Atalas and getting their licenses, Qrow would approach Yang to give her this little floof and exclaim how proud he is of her (cause we need more of them together I swear to god). After some training with her team it would quickly become Combusken during the Vol 7 training montage and become a Blaziken to shield Yang from the Oscar-Hazel explosion in Vol 8 and would be gifted a Mega Stone by Willow for her efforts to protect her family from the Hound.

Like I said before, a lot of my enthusiasm has been drained out of this ship, but it was still my OTP for quite a few years.

The reason people constantly denied that Sun was Blake's love interest or some kind of false lead is because they knew he was the love interest. The second he winked at that girl on the pier in Volume One, his fate was sealed in the fandom, and nothing he did could ever be good. He was an enemy, a threat, and that was all the reason that was ever needed to shit on him and anyone who liked him, especially if they liked Black Sun, from the very beginning.

But no matter how hard you try, you can never take away that Sun is one of Blake's best friends and the guy she was always intended to end up with.

Years of realizing Sun is a character the writers don't care for, and his team even less, started a downward slope with me, and then came the creepy cloak on the boat, and the slapping him around the face...It was rough. Once they excised him from the story completely, like I knew they eventually would, it just became a waiting game. Either the gay bait with Bumbleby is going to un-bait itself in the end, or those shippers are going to go absolutely berserk when Sun comes back and seals the deal. I'm gonna wait it out, if only because I don't want all the years I spent invested in this ship--which appears to be Sun Wukong's sole reason to exist as a character--to have been wasted. I'm tired and bitter and the love isn't there, but I'll see it through.

People think that Sun is just an inferior version of Yang and that's not true at all. Sun is laid back, charming, not a thrillseeker. Yang embodies the sun for its heat and vibrant energy, whereas Sun is patient and listens and he fulfills his role as the image of the sun by embodying its light, its gentle warmth.

And that's what Blake needs. Her whole character is someone who is tired of fighting, a low-energy person whose goals are at odds with her own empathy and good nature. Her relationship with Adam was based around Adam having passion and aggression and susceptibility to rage, and I can only see Blake ending up with someone who is the exact opposite of that. Sun is the ideal love interest because he successfully serves as a foil not just to Blake (light vs. shadow, good cheer vs. depression, enthusiasm vs. reservation), but to Adam (sun vs. moon, white and blue vs. red and black, past vs. future, monkey king vs. bull demon, etc). Blake needs someone gentle. That's who Sun is--gentle.

Also if you downplay the importance of Blake having another faunus she can confide in I will kill you.

And then they proceeded to include Little/Somewhat, Herb, Jinxi, The Red Prince, Alyx, Lewis, The Curious Cat, Juniper, The Jabberwalker, and the Blacksmith and there is a high chance we will never see them ever again

Not only did they do that, but they added Neo and Jaune on top of the RWBY focused volume but actually it was more like the Ruby focused volume so now you technically had the one focus with 15 other characters all involved, some only appearing once (looking at you Jinxi).

Not only that, but V10 being set in Vacuo has high chance of including the following characters:

Ruby, Weiss, Blake, Yang, Jaune, Nora, Oscar, Ren, Qrow, Raven (the cut V9 ending), Robyn, Joanna, May, Fiona, Willow, Winter, Whitley, Klein, Harriet, Marrow, Elm, Maria, Pietro, Sun, Sage, Scarlet, Neptune, Nolan, Coco, Fox, Velvet, Yatsu, Nebula, Dew, Gwen, and Octavia.

And that’s me not including extra characters from the books.

So to fight the cast bloat criticisms and do better, they included 36 characters in the potential line up for V10

Yeah just cuz the homophobic ableist writers known to lie pinky promised the cat scene was making fun of themselves doesn't mean anyone will actually believe it. What is wrong with being a Farmer.

Another battle. Another fallen soldier for the good guys. Oh sure they gave as good as they got, heck, they gave way more than they got, but they still did receive their fair share of fallen warriors.

Some days, some fights were like triumphs, where they came, they saw, sometimes even planed, and they conquered. Those were some of the best times, those moments seem to make everything worth it, all the blood, the pain, the sacrifice.

Other times, they barely made it, the beatings they would receive were severe and it felt like death was a sweet release compared to the pain, but they had to push forward. Oh sure, Aura helped. Took care of their wound, the pain, the broken bones, but nothing helped with those that fell.

In truth, this day was almost crushing for the young heroes, if not for the bravery of the yellow knight, there would have been much more blood on their side, but due to his choice, only one fell.

A sole Huntsmen-in-training lay bloodied on the floor in a small corridor which led to the hanger area, a few grimm, who have yet to disintegrate yet remain as his only company.

Jaune: I..di-did it. I finally helped t-th-them. Was not j-st use-useless.

He was no longer feeling any pain, only a few moments before he was embraced by death remained. Only his mind was still working, and even then, it was already losing its focus.

Jaune: Is this how you felt Pyr? When you were dying? Were your thoughts also about was it worth it or not? I like to think it was, for both of us. Sure livings great and I miss you every day, but dying for other, so that they could live, heck, not the worst thing. Besides, well get to see each other again.

Blakes also is trying to prove that Faunus can and will make the world a better place, and I like to thing she will succeed. And Weiss, well, you know my thoughts on Snow Angel, heh, she would be soo mad for me calling her that, even in my last moments. And Nora and Ren, they finally got together-together, it only took the fall of Beacon and the battle at Haven for them to realise what every one else knew since day one, some people can be quite dense, huh Pyr. Maybe they will name their kids after us? Pyrrha Ren Valkyrie and Jaune Ren Valkyrie, could be worse. Could be Jaune Belladonna Xiao-Long

Jaune: There is also Oscar, you don’t know him, well you kind of do, it`s weird, turns out he has Ozpin in his brain, don`t ask, it will just confuse you, I don’t get it myself, something god related. He`s a nice kid, was my partner in a sense, it was weird training someone else, given my situation, but boy did that give me perspective on my situation and made me realise how much more grateful I am toward all the help you gave me.

Jaune: There were others, like Ruby’s and Yang’s uncle Qrow, I think you knew him? Since he knew about the Maidens and was Ozpins right hand man, or one of this right hand men, since Ironwood was also in his inner circle. Weiss older sister Winter, who Nora called Weiss-Prime, she didn’t like that nick name, neither of them did actually, which is why I think Nora used it.

Jaune: There were others such as the Ace-Ops, Ironwoods person best, though they did lose to team RWBY, so maybe they were not as good as they thought they were, not the say that team RWBY ain`t great. Also, the Happy Huntresses and also Sun and Neptune, you remember them right? The Monkey Faunus with the staff and the guy who could call Weiss snow angel and not get vitriol spat at them, lucky bastard.

He felt his time was ending as he was reminiscing about his friend and family, imagining all the conversion he can have with those that fell before him and how great it will be to see them. Yes Jaune Arc was dying with no regrets, why wouldn’t` he. He got to protect his friends, what else was there for him? To be a Hero? To get a happily ever after? No, not for him, not for the cheater, not for the failure of Beacon. He might not have lived like a Arc should have, but maybe, he at least dies as one.

His greatest Hope was to give other a chance at those things, and he liked to think, as the light was fading from him, that he succeeded.

In a Room with a giant screen several figures seated as the one who brought them finally broke the silence.

Operator: And that’s another world, hoped you enjoyed it

Ruby: Enjoyed it?? Jaune died, we left him there, while we escaped!  What were we supposed to enjoy about that?

Operator: Take it as a learning experience, you don’t always win, and even when you do, it does not mean there are those who won’t fall. Death is something you will have to accept.

Nora: That does not mean we ENJOYED watching Fearless leader dying.

She yells while reaching for her baby, but a green robed hand stops her.

Ren: Nora, trust me, I am not happy about this, but getting violent her won’t help anyone, especially since we can`t do anything here.

Pyrrha: I died?

Yang: Why didn’t we stay to help!?

Weiss: Probably our Auras were low and we were exhausted from whatever we were doing and agreed that escape was the only option.

Ruby: Weiss you don’t have to be so cold about this.

Weiss: I… I apologies its just. I. I think its best in this situation, were we can`t do anything but watch, is to try to detach our selves and just use it as a learning experience, so we could prevent this in the future.

Nora: Its still a cold way to do it.

Weiss: I never said it wasn’t. But I believe it is the best option.

Nora: wanted to protest, but was stopped by her sister from another mister.

Pyrrha: She`s right Nora, we just have to be more careful in our future, for more than one reason apparently.

The last part was said with a hint a fear that did not go unnoticed by the other in the room as it was clear that the Young Champion of Argus has also fallen in this particular viewing.  

Ruby: I still can`t believe we left him.

A hand griped her shoulder, as she turned she saw yellow.

Yang: Don’t worry Rubes, well get much better in our time and no one will be left.

It was fake confidence, they all saw it, but they appreciated it nonetheless.

Both team RWBY and (J)NPR were so preoccupied with each other and the death of their friend, that they weren’t really thinking of the other things they heard such as Blake and Yang being a thing or Nora and Ren finally getting together.

But what they didn’t miss was the sense of dread coming from one side of the room. The side where members of the Arc family were sitting. John Arc, the former Hunter turned farmer, his Wife Charlotte Arc, the one who actually ran the family’s finances, the Eldest Arc Sibling, Saphron Cotta-Arc and Grandfather of the Arc Family – Tyberius Arc.

John: Are you happy Tyberius?

Tyberius: What is that supposed to mean?

John: You wanted my Son to follow in your footsteps, to be a Huntsmen, to try and be a Hero since I decided that a Huntsman career was not for me, that a quiet, peaceful live in Ansel was a better option for me.

Tyberius: I NEVER, wanted any of my Family dead, and for my own son to imply something so hor-

Charlotee: Then why did you keep pushing him toward that life?!

Tyberius: What is that supposed to mean?

Charlotee: My husband rarely talked about his Huntsman career or about the Arc fighters in the past. Hell we outright tried sheltering our kinds from anything Grimm related, I`m not event sure where he learned about aura!!

Saphron: I remember when I first came to Argus and everyone knew about Aura and Huntresses and it was so weird compared to home. I always wondered why, now I know, it was intentional.

Saphrons gaze lingered on her parents, did she blame them? After all, if Jaune knew more about Aura or the life he dreamed about, maybe it would have turned out differently for him. But at the same time, as a mother herself, she new she would do anything to protect her kid, even if it meant lying to them. Anything to keep Adrian safe.

Tyberius: Arcs are meant to be Heroes, we save people, it’s a noble cause, one which you abandoned son. Am I happy I watched my Grandson die? Of course not, and you are ridicules to even imply that. Am I happy to see him fight for what he believes in? For protecting other? Yes, yes I am.

Operator: I would like to remind you all, this is not your Jaune.

It didn’t help much. After a quick pause he added.

Operator: He is still alive and save.

While that did help, what didn’t was they watched their friend and family member just die and no one helped him. However, one viewer was not going to let this go.

John: Arcs are meant to be Heroes? Tell me Tyberius. What is a Hero?

Tyberius: I taught you better than that son, you damn well know what that is! A Fighter, a Knight, a defender of the week and slayer of the enemies of man. That is what a Hero is.

John: So a killer.

Tyberius: Don’t put word in my mouth, I never said that.

Tyberius: THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS! And all of them deserved it, they were killers, slavers, bandits and worse. They earned their fate.

John: And what about the Faunus you killed? Last time I checked, you were on Atlas side during the revolution.

Tyberius: I fought on the side I believed was right, I was wrong, I know that, but one mistake should not ruin the Arc image and last time I checked son, you were also on the side fighting the Faunus.

John: Yes, I was, and to this day I regret that. If I could I would go back and switch sides immediately, but I cannot, no one can change the past… But I could change my future, which is why I quit being a huntsman!  And went to a place where I could get some peace and raise a family. I family I hoped would escape the Arc Destiny as you would call it, the warriors call. W-were my-

John: Were our family could be free to live a good live, with no bloodshed or fear of death or conflict. But no, you had to come right? Had to see your grandchildren. I should have stopped you, but no I thought, he is their family, their blood, he has a right to see them.

John: Luckily our daughters had zero interest in this, but Jaune did, so I did what I had to do, I told him he has no chance, that it is not a life for him. I saw the pain in his eyes, and you know what?! The knowledge that he would be safe was more important to me at that time! And still is!

Tyberius: But that’s not what he was suppo-

Charlotee: And who are you to decree what he was or wasn’t supposed to be?

Charlotee: We just wante him to be happy AND safe!

Tyberius: By being what? A Farmer?

John: And what`s wrong with being a farmer? What is so wrong in a world full of monsters to want a quite life, to enjoy nature?! Look around Tyberius, look at these children, all that they know is violence and pain. Do you think any of them know anything else? I bet all of them could tell me the weaknesses of any grimm, going from a Beowolf to a Oum damn Leviathan! But none of them would have any knowledge of what the best soil to plant corn or potatoes in, what is the best way to prepare for the harvest! When to Harvest them! Anything other than how to kill and fight and they are stumped!

John: You know what a farmer does Tyberius?! They bring life, they provide for others, they work just as hard as any Huntsman and their efforts can affect just as many people. They provide sustenance for many people. Heck the Arc farmlands provide for all of Ansel, and we even sell some to other nearby locations AND we are planning on expanding them to provide for a few other villages as well. But of course, farm work is beneath an Arc, isn’t that right Tyberius? Holding a pitchfork or a shovel is much less impressive than a sword in a world where everybody and their grandmother carry’s a GUN! And I should know given that Moms weapon was a flame dust based musket!

John: No, no, the only place for an Arc is battle, no peace, just war. Well, I hope your happy seeing my son die for your dream Tyberius, because when I get out of this room. I am getting my son out of Beacon, enough Arcs have died for pointless or worse, wrong causes.

Operator: Perhaps a short break is needed before we watch the next iteration of Mister Arc.

So I Just did a Thing. First time writing, pretty obvious, isn’t it? Its cool, gotta start somewhere, right? Just for the record, this is obviously a AU interpretation of the characters as remember John Arc, knows nothing about the members of Team RWBY or JNPR, so he has no idea that for example Weiss is actually a talented singer and a good (Potentially) businesswomen. Besides he just saw a version of his Son die, so I think it can be forgivable for him to not be in the best place mentally. Additionally, it was always kind of weird, how Jaune talked about his family like he was always told these legends but when it came to him being trained he got a big fat no. So I thought, hey, maybe the stories came from one place and the No, you can’t be a Huntsman, came from another. In this situation his Grandfather and his Father respectively.

Continuation to the Blake'd Ozpin au? Nothing specific, just sharing a body shenanigans-

Blake sighed and leaned against the wall, slowly sliding down until she was on the ground. “Of course I messed things up! I should’ve been there with them, I should never have left. I’m an idiot…” 

“You did what you thought was right, just like I would’ve,” Ozpin said in Blake’s head. A few of his memories started to swirl around, the times he had run away to protect those he cared about when Salem went after him. “While sticking around to fight can be the answer, sometimes the answer requires you to run and regroup. Give yourself time to think things over or come up with another plan. Between the White Fang and Beacon falling, I’m sure you felt it necessary-”

“And you heard my team.” Blake pulled her knees to her chest and took a few breaths. “And… Yang’s right, I dont want to be here. Not yet. But you and Sun… neither of you seemed to understand that I wasnt ready for this.” 

“Unfortunately, time isnt a luxury we have-”

“You’ve said that before.” 

“So I have…” Ozpin went quiet in Blake’s mind and started to mull over a few of his words. “Then… maybe its time we try to work together to achieve both our goals.” 

“No offense professor, but I’m not exactly in the right mood for that.” Blake gently put a hand to the scar on her side and traced it. “I know you dont quite understand everything I go through, but right now, I have my own things I need to worry about. I have my family, the White Fang to take back, what to say to my team… trivial things to someone like you.” 

“Not as trivial as you think. And I think its time you know the full truth.” 

“The full truth? What do you mean-” Blake’s vision changed as she was pulled into a few memories, her eyes glassed over with a green aura. She found herself in a grassy field with a tower in the distance. “Where… is this place?” 

Ozpin walked up next to her and looked out longingly to the tower. “This… is my home. Well… used to be my home. It feels like its only been a lifetime since I’ve stood at this place, though its been much longer than that.” 

“I dont understand. This was your home?” 

“This was where I first met Salem. And this is where I fell in love with her. Though, over the last few centuries, it would be hard to tell that the two of us ever loved each other.” 

Blake nodded and walked over to the tower to get a better look at it. The longer she looked at it, the more she recognized it. “So Beacon has been your home for lifetimes?” 

“No, nothing that simple.” Ozpin followed Blake and kept pace with her. “In a cruel sense, I modeled Beacon off this very place. A cruel reminder to myself of what I lost and what I need to protect. Salem was once someone I held close to my heart and has now become one of my greatest rivals.” 

Blake watched as the field and tower disappeared and became a new castle in a barren land. She took a step back as she watched the castle crumble, magic blasted through the walls and roof until there was nothing left. She had questions she wanted to ask, though none of the words would leave her throat. 

Ozpin let out a heavy sigh and rested his hands on his cane. “I made the mistake of walking out on someone I trusted and loved, and in turn, I unleashed a horror on this world I never meant to. And while walking away wont have as dire of consequences as I did, you need to talk to your team. Let them know what your intent is and they will understand. Though, for now, we’ll have to work towards our goals together and work as a team.” 

“I… I cant let my friends get hurt because of me. If I ask them to continue to help me with the White Fang-” 

“No one is asking you to put them into danger, though you do need to understand that while you want to do this alone, your team is there to help you and back you up when you need it.” 

Blake blinked and found herself back at her room in the apartment and sighed. “And how do you know they wont hate me?” 

“I dont. All I can do is try to guide you and keep you from making the same mistakes that I did. We’re a lot more alike than I would ever wish we were.” 

Blake nodded and picked up the cane that sat down next to her. While it did start to feel a bit more familiar in her grip, it was still a foreign weapon to her. She stood up and leaned on the cane. “And what exactly do I tell them?” 

Ozpin’s voice echoed in Blake’s mind, his voice almost cheerful as he spoke. “Let them know how you really feel. Afterwards, we’ll need to start our training.” 

“You better be right about this, professor.”

You know, it's media like Attack on Titan's manga that really make me appreciate RWBY.

I don't want people to take this to mean that AoT is the worst shit ever. I will say that it takes more risks than RWBY and should be appreciated for that. It also knows how to make technically satisfactory pay offs. And it has a better opening.

I also don't want people to think that I believe liking it is bad. My analysis does not concern what audiences should and shouldn't like- it's about what creators should and shouldn't do.

What I mean is- I am 70 chapters deep in the manga. And while I can see moments that should be stand out to me, like the reveal of Reiner and Berholt or Kristia's arc- the only things I can really say that is stand out is Kenny's death, simply because he died with some dignity. And Levi thanking the heroes after Historia is crowned queen. (And Levi tricking that one guy into admitting that Historia was the true queen. But that’s only because I wanted to bash his and Hange’s skulls in so that’s more a negative than anything.)

With RWBY, up to Volume 4, I can name the fight with the Nevermore, Weiss and Ruby reconciling, Jaunedice, Weiss firing back against Blake, Roman manipulating the WF, Yang and Blake's talk, Neo kicking Yang's ass, Ruby talking to her mom, Qrow's intro, Pyrrha's arc with becoming the Fall Maiden, Penny's death, Cinder’s speech, Penny’s death, Ruby standing against the Nevermore, Roman’s ranting at Ruby, Adam’s...everything, Weiss summoning the Armor Gigas’ arm, Ozpin standing against Cinder, Pyrrha sending Jaune away, Pyrrha fighting Cinder, Ruby and Yang growing distant, Ruby’s fight against the Bergindal, the reveal of Pyrrha’s armor being merged with Jaune’s sword and shield, the sad looks from Ruby showing that she isn’t okay, Jaune training to Pyrrha’s video and Ruby finding it, Tyrian showing up to kidnap Ruby, Qrow stepping in to save her, Qrow’s fight with Tyrian, Qrow’s talk with the others, Ruby’s near breakdown in Kuroyuri, Weiss being alone in her cold home, Weiss ranting at the Atlesians for being so callous about Beacon, Ironwood and Jaccques’ final confrontation in Volume 4, Sun’s reveal in Volume 4, Blake meeting up with her parents again, Blake’s talk with Ghira, Sun’s talk with Blake, Yang’s depressed mood and her broken spirit, her time with Port and Oobleck, her talk with Tai, her training with Tai and how she resembles her mother but better, her goodbye with her father, Ren and Nora’s growing fear of the events resembling their hometown, Ren’s growing fear, his flashback to his childhood, Nora smacking some sense into him, The Nucklevee, Ren killing the fucker and Ruby’s final monologue.

Even when considering that one is a manga and the other is a web series so the later is longer than the former- I simply remember those events and care about them more than the vast majority of AoT’s moments. Because they have differing levels of intensity with different emotions and scenarios at hand whereas the former is either ‘monstrous Titans killing everyone’, ‘humans killing everyone’ ‘people being assholes’ and ‘heroes being the true good’. And RWBY had proper build up (despite being eternally restrained) so you could build up anticipation for it. Whereas in AoT, I just didn’t care. Not even dismissively, I just registered it as an event that happened over and over again with no feeling about it.

Seeing just how little I could care about things in RWBY really makes me believe there’s something technically good about it.
