I have never actually WATCHED Adventure Time.

I used to watch it TONS as a kid. But I never finished the series or actually saw silly Lore bits.

Now, I know a bit about Simon and the crown as well as little Marcy. But I never fully delved myself into the show.

UNTIL NOW!!!

I'm doing my Adventure Time kinda rewatch for the majority of the show aside from the few episodes that I never had access to.

It's a crazy ride watching this as an almost adult so much shit goes on and my mind is just blown.

Watching through the first season and a half so far, my mind instantly goes to Finn and Jake's friendship. Jake is practically his guardian since Finn is literally 12 while Jake is 28 lmao.

But it's seriously so cute because it feels like Jake is watching out for him while at the same time just letting the kid do whatever he wants. (There was a scene where Finn mentioned that Jake packed him snacks and it was just freaking cute, okay.)

12 year old Finn is seriously a sweet heart. He's just a little boy who wants to be a hero and I LOVE IT!!!! But then they put this kid in some weird situations....... like grown adults getting super touchy and hitting on him. And there I am sitting on the couch watching this like.

Tree Trunks...... that boy is 12. You are an old lady.

But aside from that. I'm seriously loving this. I'm invested in the story already and am having such a fun time. It's nostalgic and fresh at the same time. I know a lot of these episodes by heart and also am getting pleasant surprises from the ones I missed out on.

Let's just say I'm having a good time :)

It's still surprising to see people say that when they see the upcoming strike post I made that this is the first time they're hearing about it, especially because I've seen several posts now talking about the same strike.

That being said: regardless of what kind of blog you are, please spread the news about the genocide, the strikes, boycotts, etc.

Even if you are a small blog, spreading word allows for more people to know what's going on and also do their part in protests and strikes, and maybe even the right people will be able to do more than what you're able to do.

And reminder: there is an upcoming strike on February 18th-25th. Prepare accordingly, protest, boycott, call your reps, and spread the word so more people are aware.

you know what boils my blood.

over the last 2 weeks, i've seen countless patients walk into my urgent care center, symptomatic for so many things, refusing to get tested for covid and flu, citing that they don't want to knowingly bring it to their holiday tables. i had a patient tell me, verbatim, "i don't want to test for covid, because i don't want to be the asshole who brings it on a plane."

i understand that - i understand that holidays are times where people look forward to meeting loved ones that they might only see once a year, or where they get a break from the hectic back and forth of their lives.

but here's the thing - whether they get tested or not, they will bring whatever they have to their holiday tables. it's pure recklessness to know that you're sick, and walk into someone else's house spreading the disease.

today, january 2, i saw 91 patients, many of them who have tested positive for covid and flu. many of these patients are the same ones who didn't want testing 3 days ago, until their events were over, and now, they will have to reach out to everyone they know to let them know that they were positive because they were showing symptoms well before their event.

the next week or two? we're going to see many, many more, all people with symptoms that started around christmas. these are the only two viruses we test for rapidly in our office, but they are potent and can be fatal in many people.

so here's why i wrote this post, and maybe it's a little late, but - if you care about your loved ones, please get tested if you know you're sick. it doesn't have to be at a clinic if you don't want it to, because the over-the-counter tests work just fine too (if you test within 5-7 days of symptom onset). just...please don't try to run from the knowledge that you might have covid, because immunocompromised people, elderly people, people with co-morbidities like asthma, pregnancy, diabetes, etc...many of them may not recover. and they may not be sitting at your holiday table in the future because of it.

I'm trying REALLY hard not to build up any solid expectations, because I wanna go in ~fresh~! they're already so far away from anything I thought would happen (not in a bad way, I'm just accepting that I'm on Miss Yana's Wild Ride at this point and we're seeing this thing through 'til the end, by gum). so it's nothing too major, but:

they've been handing new crying expressions out like candy lately, I want to see some delicious Malleus tears.
