I’ve been gone for so long but I have so much to say and idk how to say it so please be prepared for an absolute mess of an ask lol

First, I just really wanna give appreciation for Super Emeralds (The comic creator) and their dedication to THOAM. I’ve been on Tumblr for just a little more than a year at this point, and I only joined in the first place because of this comic. I got into it way back in… What was it, 2020?? 2021? And I fell in love immediately with the concept! Sonic feeling insecure about his new Werehog form? Chip being an active member of the team and a great friend?? TEAM DARK??? SONADOW DONE RIGHT?????????? Ohohoho! You can bet I was completely on board! I tried my best to comment on every page, because I just love giving positive feedback for things I enjoy, and took note of how Super Emeralds evolved their style as the years went on. I wasn’t there during the beginning, and I really wish I was, but the time I’ve spent following this fun little comic has made me feel so much appreciation not just for Super Emeralds as a person, but for the entire Sonic art community as a whole! Art is a creative endeavor, a passionate career, and sometimes it’s really hard to just. Draw. Comics are especially hard as I’ve discovered. So just… Good job to Super Emeralds for sticking around all these years and for giving us such an incredibly thought out and beloved series. And thank you.

I’ve been a bit absent from Tumblr for the last few weeks due to sickness and lack of interest so I am undoubtedly missing a page or two from the equation but OH MY GOSH. POOR SONIC. Bro wakes up from like a 2-day long nap and the first thing he sees is his little brother screaming in his face at 3AM. He’s so confused haha! I noticed he isn’t as insecure or he isn’t really freaking out as much as I assumed he would way back during the exposition pages. This is obviously due to the confusion and whiplash after waking up as his “Normal” self again, but I feel like it’s just him putting on another fascade around his friends. To an extent, at least. He isn’t aware of the new pink markings all over his body and he isn’t aware of just how worried all his friends were. All he knows is that they know about his new form and they for some reason aren’t acting weird about it, so he’s likely just playing along to make sure nobody gets overly concerned. It just seems like something he’d do. Or maybe I’m just grasping at the angst straws, idk.

OMEGA IS FIXED BY THE WAY I DO NOT WISH TO GLOSS OVER THAT FACT. THE BOY IS BACK!! THE ROBO BOYO IS BACK!!! I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE ALL THE CRIMES HE’LL BE ABLE TO COMMIT ONCE TAILS GETS THOSE ROCKET LAUNCHERS WORKING AGAIN HEHEHEEE

Also let’s not gloss over how Omega doesn’t care that Sonic mauled him to death. Let’s not gloss over the fact that Omega clearly cares for the others because of his ignorance to Sonic’s rampage.

“Alright, pizza’s coming through!” Faustus announced as he walked over to the kitchen counter.

“WitchHaven is such a nice place,” Mayhem commented. “Fairly calm, no overt crime… such places are few and far between when it comes to humans.”

Antonio set the boxes up side by side. “I take it things went well?”

“Without a hitch, but a few people were giving us odd looks. Our human forms probably need some adjustments…”

“His, not mine,” Faustus interjected. “Mayhem, no one rolls around in medieval clothing these days…”

“Renaissance, not medieval.” Faustus gave Mayhem an incredulous look, causing the others to chuckle.

“Sorry we couldn’t make a proper dinner tonight, Adrien,” Antonio said as the others took turns getting their slices.

“No te preocupes, there’s not much we can do about it. Besides, I’ve been craving some pizza lately. I was on a mission to Italy recently and I would’ve gotten some there had I not been bushwacking it with Antares and Marcus.”

“You know what?” Will said after swallowing his food. “When I was living with my parents, this was not the kind of action I was craving.”

Adrien laughed sympathetically. “Beggars can’t be choosers, Will.”

“Yeah… so what’s next?”

“Well ideally the cargo helicopter will arrive tomorrow at 2 PM. Once we make sure everything’s good to go, we’ll get moving.”

Sam nodded. “I take it M.A.I.G. knows what’s up by now?”

“Yup,” Adrien said as he wiped his face. “Apparently Dr. Reynard was two steps ahead of us as he was ready to go when Antares called Trumna.”

Randalph stroked his chin in contemplation. “Interesting, lending credence to my theory that he’s a reincarnated primordial…”

“A primordial?” Will inquired. “What’s that?”

Before Randalph could answer, Sam put her hand on Will’s. “It’s nothing, Boyo. Just stuff from a long time ago.”

Randalph gave her a mildly confused look. “Er, right. Either way, it shouldn’t be too relevant to us as I doubt other ones are involved. What is the plan of attack once Will is at M.A.I.G., Adrien?”

“Not sure. I guess we’ll cross that bridge when we get there… haha, get there, hehe.”

The rest of the meal went smoothly, with Adrien telling the group more about his recent missions. After a fascinating tale about one that took Adrien all the way to Greenland, Will got out a movie for everyone to enjoy. The following day everyone kept an eye on the sky for the helicopter. 2 o’clock rolled around with no sign of it. Will sat around on the grass, waiting patiently with Faustus.

Growing bored at around 4 o’clock, Faustus whistled for Adrien. “Hey, Adrien? Where’s the van?”

He was tuning up his motorcycle. “Probably some paperwork and clearance hooha. Antares cautioned me about that.”

Will tapped Faustus’ arm. “He did say ideally after all.”

“I know, Champ. It’s just that I feel like we’re sitting ducks at the moment.”

Another hour passed and it was 5 o’clock. Sam joined Will and Faustus as they looked bored. She had finished packing their essentials and had nothing else to do. Things then grew a little too quiet, followed by everyone sensing something awful. A small torrent of grisly smoke erupted from the road and up rose what must have been Valentin. Despite his regal looking attire, he did not seem like the most pleasant individual to be around. Still, he was a bit handsome and even a little charming in a maniacal sort of way.

Adrien and Antonio sprung into action, pressing the barrels of their guns into him. Valentin laughed and waved a white handkerchief around. “Parlay, Gentlemen. Parlay. Besides, if both of you blow my brains out, it’ll end poorly for all of us.”

Antonio groaned as he realized the blast from his shotgun would potentially hit Adrien and lowered it. “Damn it… alright, what do you want?”

Valentin’s head twitched as a smile stretched across it. It was unnerving to say the least. “I just came to announce that it looks like our little dance will be moving to Red River. Bethany has already returned to her crypt, so you all best not be late…”

Adrien moved the barrel of his handgun to Valentin’s temple. “What do you want? Spill it.”

Valentin would have been lying if he said the gun did not make him a little nervous. Adrien had been known to pull the trigger when the chips were down. “Zasiel’s soul, for it is coveted by my… my…” he growled, struggling to hold back a string of profanities. “...master,” he said through gritted teeth.

Faustus walked right up to Valentin and flared his nostrils. A plume of black smoke came from them. “You have no right to refer to him by that name.”

“You’re not going to get it, Perkele!” Will shakily declared. His legs were twitching a bit from the distress he felt.

This made him laugh. “Ooh! Are you honoring me or insulting me?” He then handed him what looked like an invitation. It was unclear if this was provocation or courtesy.

“What the Hell even are you?” Will asked, confused and terrified.

“An agent of chaos, no different from you, o’Zasiel. You have quite the legacy given that you’re one of The Nightmare of Old, a fragment of the wicked Tyrant God…”

Something about that struck a nerve with Sam. She went right up to him and began slamming the intruder around with inhuman strength. Everyone panicked as Sam was going berserk, hollering and screeching like a mad warrior. Valentin tried to fight back, but was slammed right into the road. He then tried to crawl towards Will, but Sam dragged the demented jester towards a tree and pinned him up against it, bruised and bloodied.

“DON’T YOU EVER CALL HIM THAT AGAIN, YOU WASTE OF HUMAN LIFE!!” Sam shouted at the top of her lungs as she readied her fist. Her voice was echoing and making the ground tremble.

Just as Valentin braced himself, there was a loud rumbling approaching that was not Sam. They all looked up as the cargo helicopter thundered over them. As the rest covered their ears, Sam looked back at Valentin.

“Good bye!” he cheekily said as he vanished.

Once the noise was gone, Will cautiously approached his girlfriend. “S-Sam? Are you…?”

“WHAT!?” she barked, a hint of power still left in her voice. This made Will recoil in fear, falling to the ground.

Adrien went and grabbed her by the arm. “SAM! What the Hell’s gotten into you!?” he demanded to know as the others helped Will up.

This made her come to her senses. “What the… Oh God, Boyo! Don’t worry, it’s alright, I’m not mad at you…” Sam tried her best to hug him. “Sorry sorry sorry…”

“Alright, everyone get inside Sam’s house!” Adrien instructed. “I’m going to go get the van and then we’re off!” He hopped on his motorcycle, started it up, and sped off down the road.

Randalph remained outside with Mayhem. “I think one of my theories just got proven right, Mayhem.”

“You don’t think that’s Morrigan Devilfay, do you?” Mayhem asked as he picked up the invitation Will had dropped.

“The strength, the way her eyes turned purple, and the way she reacted to what Valentin said? I’m sure of it.”

Mayhem scratched his chin. “Speaking of what he said, you don’t think Anne is foolish enough to try Karnage’s failed plan again?”

“No. They would’ve tried to capture Will already if that was the case.”

“And given the insinuation, should we assume Valentin is in league with the cult?”

Randalph nodded. “Absolutely.” He started to pace. “Why they would be after Will is anyone’s guess… unless he has something they need.”

Mayhem had a lurking suspicion. “Do you think he has the potential?”

“I don’t think, I know he has the potential for ULTRAMagic, Mayhem.”

“Then it’s a case of him being in the wrong place at the wrong time?”

“It would seem so. I don’t think we’re seeing a repeat of the past. I think this is a new plan. And unfortunately for Will, he’s the only one with the potential for the trait at the moment. The others who have already achieved it are in The Unlight, making them untouchable for whatever Valentin is scheming.”

“I see why you brought me along now,” Mayhem concluded. “It pains me to see him get wrapped up in our conflicts.”

Randalph tapped his staff on the road and sighed. “The best we can do is keep him safe for now. We’ll call in the guild if we have to. Keep your eyes and ears open once you get to Red River.”

“Of course. I just hope we don’t have to call in the guild in the first place, as that would mean things are worse than we what thought.”

“As an aside, Will is a capable mage,” Randalph said as he tapped his staff on the ground once more, creating a magical barrier around the area. “Even if it doesn’t seem like it, a little encouragement goes a long way with him.”

“Duly noted, Randalph.”

Steel Cat vans were a more casual means of transport for The Liger Brigade, but provided fantastic protection in a fire fight. Adrien pulled into Sam’s driveway and shut off the engine. It was dinner time, he was stressed out, and his stomach was growling. Walking inside the house, he was greeted by the smell of spaghetti and the sight of everyone eating peacefully, despite what had happened earlier.

“Ha, well what’s all this?” Adrien asked.

“Hey, Adrien!” Will said from the table, followed by everyone else welcoming him back. Will sounded noticeably better, and so did Sam.

Antonio sat Adrien down at the table. “Welcome back, Adrien. I was all worked up, so I went and made us a nice and big dinner before everyone heads out.”

“Gracias, Antonio,” Adrien replied as Antonio put some food on his plate. “Getting the van off the helicopter was a pain, but we’re all good to go. Pretty comfy in there too, not going to lie.”

“Thankfully nothing else happened while you were gone,” Buster pointed out. “Hey, Adrien? Do you think the people at M.A.I.G. would be up for interviews as a part of a piece I want to write about the organization?”

Olivia was flabbergasted. “Now, of all times? And everyone said I was a workaholic…”

Adrien chuckled. “Just don’t leak any classified stuff and you should be fine.”

Kyu finished slurping some noodles. “Oh, Trevor did talk to Umuka before you got back, Adrien. He’s already on his way to Red River.”

“I see. I guess that means Valentin was being truthful about Bethany heading back to Mt. Steadyrock then.”

Will sighed. “I’ll take that reprieve.”

It was 8 o’clock when Will, Faustus, Sam, Buster, and Olivia began to get into the van. Mayhem went ahead and teleported to M.A.I.G. headquarters. Faustus could have gone with him, but he wanted to keep Will and the others safe. Trevor and his parents were there, having popped in to say goodbye before they all left.

“Don’t you darlings fret, we won’t let anything happen to this place while you’re gone,” Nathaniel assured. “I’ll even call on General Washington’s ghost if I have to!”

Adelaide giggled. “Dear, I don’t think we’ll have to go that far. Still, stay safe, everyone.”

Trevor gave Will a hug. “Look, Will? This is not me doubting you, but if things go south, you’re more than welcome to stay with us as a ghost.”

Will chuckled. “Thanks, Trevor. Don’t worry, they’re not going to get the best of me. Bye for now, everyone” he said as he got into the van.

With everyone inside, Adrien closed her door and rolled down the window. “Adios, amigos. Wish us luck.”

“Give us a call when you get there and teach Perkele a lesson he won’t soon forget” Antonio said as the van started to pull out of the driveway.

It was worrying and surreal to see the van drive down the hill. Everyone who was staying behind watched until it disappeared into the horizon. The silence was haunting as the nighttime chill crept in.

“I’m sort of hoping they turn around because it turns out to be safer here…” Kyu stated.

“I know how you feel, little buddy,” Antonio reassured.

Randalph clapped his hands. “No need to be so glum, gentlemen. How about I teach you some magic so perhaps we can join them if need be?”

“A capital idea, Mr. Scarfe,” Nathaniel complimented. “Trevor, Adelaide? Shall we head off on a nightly patrol?”

“Certainly,” Adelaide agreed. “We better make sure that scoundrel didn’t leave any nasty surprises for us.”

“The arrogance and irony of calling yourself ‘Perkele’ is something I’ll never understand,” Trevor remarked as the ghosts vanished.

Antonio subtly nodded to that point. “Alright, Randalph, show us some tricks.”

“Just note that I am partial towards alchemy” Kyu stated as they all went into Sam’s house. “I’m still trying to wrap my mind around necromancy.”

“Kyu, my friend, I started out as an Alchemist,” Randalph replied. “Personally I think alchemical doctrine is the true foundation of all magic. Also I think you have more potential than you realize…”

This one is one I took very seriously and I think it paid off. Dean gets locked out of his own body and experiences dissociation, with moments of respite when he's able to hitch a lift. It has silly jokes in it also. I'm especially pleased with how many different ways I came up with for voiceless ghost Dean to communicate! With a lighthearted horny sequel because I had initally planned the first part to be that and then Dean kept getting upset lmao.

If I Cross Your Mind (G) (1,097 words)

Dean spiralling in a post-tmwwbk prayer, based on the Dolly Parton song of the same name. It's all monologue babyyyyy, with a ton of Dean-isms. "Amen, I guess, if you’re into that kind of thing".

I honestly think Simon really wanted to push Liam originally but Harry and Niall had more charisma and presence, Zayn had better vocals and Louis was the behind the scenes person writing songs and managing things (tho he also had more charisma in interviews). Liam kinda ended up more in the background as the "basic" one.

You can even see the shift from the first album being so Liam focused to the second one. Niall and Louis didn't even get to really sing till Take Me Home.

It was Nicole who saw the potential in Niall and Harry, because she saw the charm and presence they could bring. Liam was there to do the actual singing, once the others could also sing the part Liam wasn't as center focus because he lacked the elements the other boys had.

Honestly if Zayn didn't have such bad anxiety he could probably be as successful as Harry. But I think he's happier chilling with his family and releasing music whenever he wants without promoting it or anything, he's already rich so I don't think he needs the money anyway.

Niall had a great album with Heartbreak Weather but he stopped promo once covid hit and it was sad because the songs on that album are great. What I love the most is that while all the boys in 1D were just learning how to sing Niall immediately started picking up other music skills like the guitar, it was Niall that later started teaching Harry how to play. That's I think part of what makes Niall so great he's always trying to get better and learning from other people, and he never releases anything unless he thinks is good enough.

Louis is so talented behind the scenes. He wrote most if not all of 1Ds greatest hits, he honestly had the strongest behind the scenes presence. He isn't as comfortable singing or performing but he's such a chill lad, his concerts are like hanging out with a friend that happens to know how to sing and is on a stage. He's also such a gem in telling fans to pirate his stuff if they can't afford it and lowering ticket prices to the minimum lol. Precious boyo.

And there's Liam who has struggled a lot with wanting to be the Justin Timberlake of one direction but never got there. He was in theory the perfect one to succeed with the singing and dancing... and yet. He also has a lot of personal struggles that bleed into his professional life but that's not our business. I think specially early on he felt like he was owed the success, but he just didn't have that It thing.

Harry always had the star quality, that boy was eating the stage up since he was sixteen. He was made for the stage. They can say whatever they want but all 1D fans knew Harry was going to have the best solo career. He just has the full star package.

God I've been in this fandom too long. I talk about stuff like this with my friends all the time, we kinda ended up agreeing that Liam had the basic voice of 1D and all the other boys added the flavour to it. Now that they all have solo careers the other boys developed their unique flavours but Liam just feels basic and generic. I feel cruel saying it but it's how i see it.

omg i strongly agree - we know liam was simon’s favourite. but i think nicole, being a woman, was able to see who would be more popular with teenage girls (aka their target demographic).

zayn is soo talented but yeah, i don’t think he enjoys the spotlight which is fair. i am still SO heartbroken about heartbreak weather, it’s an amazing album and deserves more :( but that’s a good observation about niall- he’s always pushed himself to learn and do better. and i loove louis, he’s so grounded and down to earth, he may not have the best voice but like you said, he does a lot of behind the scenes stuff. i honestly think liam needs a break to get himself together bc he’s been a mess for years now :// and yeah we all knew harry would do the best. liam does have the most basic voice haha and there’s nothing that sets him apart which is a shame, and one of the main reasons why he hasn’t done well

Maggots Under The Dichotomy

SPOILERS FOR 322!

I’ve been thinking a lot about Shiggy’s speech in the War Arc, and I can’t help but connect it to Izuku, even more so after 322 and the panels we got

This is what Shiggy says

“Everything I’ve witnessed... this whole system you’ve built has always rejected me. Now I’m ready to reject it. That’s why I destroy. That’s why I took this power for myself. Simple enough, right?”

These words sound like Izuku. Look at the evidence

“This system you’ve built has always rejected me.”

The system has always rejected Izuku, not just for being weak, but for being quirkless. They rejected him when he was sad, alone, and delusional. All Might himself rejected him and only accepted him when he saw the kid almost die to protect his bully. That’s really fucking sad

Admittedly, he was accepted more after he got his quirk, but the rejection still continues when Nighteye shows up and tells him that he cannot approve of Izuku having OFA. And then that kinda opens up a can of worms, where Izuku runs to All Might to yell at him, because to Izuku, it was like All Might rejected him once again [even tho that wasn’t really the intention]

In little ways, we also have Izuku being rejected by having to prove himself worthy. He’s constantly denied stuff unless he’s “strong enough” or “smart enough” which... To Izuku, it could be seen as rejection, even if he doesn’t acknowledge it as such. Gran Torino, Nighteye, Endeavor, even All Might when he withheld information - Izuku has to consistently prove himself to adults to even be seen as worthy

Going deeper into this though, we also have Izuku rejecting himself.

Rejecting his quirkless self, who he was before. He constantly tries to widen the gap between how he used to be - weak, useless, helpless - to being the vision of a Hero he wants to be - strong, brave, independent, confident. Though this is an effect of the emotional neglect he suffered in his life, it’s as if, now, he’s almost agreeing with what everybody said back then and is trying to be “better” AKA trying to repress ever being useless and focusing on the now, the present, the future that actually matters to him

I know it may not seem like it, because Izuku’s Hero Worship is very strong, but Izuku is also rejecting the system. When anybody tells him not to do something, he does it anyway. Izuku may be PART of the system but he is rejecting it for his own morals and ways. And especially more so now in the current arc, Izuku is rejecting so much of the world around him out of fear for their safety and out of fear of being a burden.

I think one of the clear panels that I’ve seen is this

Look at that very small smile. He knew he was going to be rejected, because that’s what it’s always been like. Not only because of the situation, but at this point, he’s just used to being shoved away by the world.

Izuku rejects himself and the adults that reject him, and it’s a consequence of the emotional neglect he suffered as a child.

The system has always rejected Izuku. Now he’s ready to reject it.

“That’s why I destroy.”

I remember some people saying this when 285 came out, but this panel here

suggests of Izuku trying to destroy Shiggy’s dreams, which is exactly what Izuku’s goal is. Shiggy’s goal is to destroy, but Izuku won’t let him because that involves killing everyone, so Izuku wants to stop him. And in doing so, that means Izuku destroys that.

Izuku also destroys the dreams of other Villains, such as Overhaul, who at first had a good intention but quickly spiralled. Same thing with Gentle, Izuku destroyed his dream of being famous and known.

Izuku does this in order to create peace. But there shouldn’t be any argument that what Izuku does is destruction.

“That’s why I took this power for myself.”

Izuku accepted One For All and made it his own. The world rejected him for being quirkless, and now with the power of One For All, he’s set to prove everybody wrong about how “useless” he is.

Izuku is, too, rejecting the world, because the world condemned him for being quirkless and helpless. Now he’s rejecting that idea, by getting stronger and furthering the gap between his weakness and his success.

It’s with this power that Izuku even has the chance to improve and change things.

Now...

Not only does this show how alike Izuku and Tomura are, how similar yet different; The lost sad boy who rose to be a Hero, the lost sad boy who descended into Villainy, but it also shows how Tomura is the only one who has actually reached out.

Tomura has been crying for help this entire time, from the USJ speech, to the Kamino speech, to the Hero vs Villains Dichotomy speech. He’s been giving hints about how in pain he’s been, but I think the Dichotomy speech is where he gives direct hints that say “Hey, by the way, I was fucking abused and hurt and you all ignored and rejected me, and you consistently do this so much, not just to me but to other outcasts too, that I can’t see any point in letting this society continue.”

And yet they still didn’t listen to him

At least Tomura was actually reaching out. At least he was actually trying to make them see

Izuku though?? He doesn’t say a thing

And that’s largely because he doesn’t see a problem in the system. He doesn’t see how fucked up it was that people bullied him just for having dreams. That adults turned a blind eye to this bullying, and he doesn’t see the problem in how he was emotionally neglected his entire life

Now is a bit of a different story. He’s been told about the HC and how fucked up they are, but it remains to be seen if he’ll actually try and do anything about this realization [or show evidence to not liking how the HC operates]

But even with knowing about the HC, nothing has changed his view on society. This kid STILL thinks he’s at fault for simply being alive, for being born as he was

Tomura IS Tenko and the two are combined, because they are the same. Tomura accepts his younger self, and he’s regained all his memories. He’s been liberated. Tomura acknowledges the hurt of the past now and tries to do away with the ones who caused it.

Izuku, though, does everything he can to distance himself from who he used to be. He’s not looking for comeuppance or some kind of acceptance or justice for his pain. He’s just becoming somebody else.

If Izuku were like Tomura at the beginning of his Hero training, and accepted and remembered his past quirkless self, he would have probably reached out sooner to Shiggy, or others who were hurting. If he truly accepted his past, it would be about him looking at others like him, who were hurt and neglected, and trying to help them. This means for Villains too, not just civilians.

Izuku IS starting to reach out to Villains now, in baby steps. But he still actively rejects his past. Examples in quotes such as “Don’t be the old worthless Deku who can’t save anyone!” and “I’m not the Useless Deku I was before!”

It’s like Izuku is rejecting the world by getting some kind of revenge, but only to show everybody he CAN be a Hero, without actually questioning what happened to him. It’s almost like he’s trying to avenge his younger self for how people treated him, but not in a “This hurt me and I deserve some closure and apology!” way. He’s focused on growing stronger to avoid being the self he hated but doesn’t think about it in a healthy way. It’s more like he’s avoiding the root problem.

Because Izuku truly thinks that being born quirkless was his fault. It’s like Izuku has been reborn into someone “worthy” therefore he doesn’t see any reason to place blame onto the adult figures he had, nor can he even see the problem in what happened back then.

So, Izuku Is Like Tomura; Someone Crawling Out From Under The Rug To Avenge Himself And Reject Society. Does This Make Izuku A “Maggot”?

Yes! But it’s a little complicated.

He is half-maggot. Izuku rejects the adults in little ways, but he’s not fully there in rejecting those who hurt him, and I’m not sure he ever will be. In one way, I would say it’s fine for him to not bring it all up if it isn’t effecting him in harmful ways, but it is. It is effecting him in harmful ways, to the point of self hatred and self destruction, which is when it ABSOLUTELY needs to be addressed, or else he’ll slip into deep depression and/or die.

And after 322, we have one piece of the Emotional Neglect Trauma puzzle being addressed! Bakugou stepped tf up, and so that is one piece of it that was brought out into the open. Izuku’s response to what Bakugou said doesn’t seem to address it though, which makes me think that while Bakugou saying what he said was super good, these two still need to sit down and have a fucking conversation over the past.

Izuku HAS to acknowledge what happened to be able to move on and actually be a better and healthier version of himself. If he continues as he is, and ignores it, that’s just gonna make it worse.

What I mean to say is, Izuku rejects the system, but not where it counts. Not where it can directly hit everyone with a Oh Shit I Fucked Up Big Time realization.

Again, Izuku avenges himself, but not in a direct way. He’s not going up to everybody who caused him pain and telling them how hurt he was and how much it effected him, because 1) he’s not even aware of how it effects him and 2) he probably wouldn’t even see the point in it, because he still blames himself for being born quirkless

But Izuku DOES do these things without knowing. He IS trying to avenge himself [albeit unhealthily] and he IS rejecting society, but only in little ways.

It’s what makes Izuku and Tomura’s similarities so interesting I think. There are so many that I love, but another to add to the list is that they are both “maggots”.

They were put under a rug, swept away by the system that rejected their existence, and now as a result of that neglect, they are crawling back out to avenge themselves. As Tomura said “It all builds up, little by little, over time.”

to be a very good way of showing their parallels and contrasts

Tomura, on one side, seen as a Villain - fighting for his right to live

Izuku, on the other, seen as a Hero - fighting to get rid of someone who wants to live

But they are both lost boys, who have been hurt by the world

It’s just that one can see how corrupted it is and wants to change it [even if it is in a very destructive way]

And the other is oblivious to the corruption and seeks to protect it [even if unknowing of the real damage it causes]

Some grammatical/cadence/character issues in the official English translation that drove me nuts when I ended up poring over a single scene for hours yesterday (AKA reasons I reworked it so much in my Albert swap-in fic). 

“I just wanted to ask you one quick thing.” *Sherlock proceeds to ask no questions for the entirety of the conversation.*

Sherlock saying, “both nobles who died were evil.” This one might be just contradictory to my perception of him, but Sherlock using good/evil so definitively feels weird to me. I think he’d make his opinion clear but not in this firm moral statement way. Which is why I changed it to “absolute bastards” lol.

“And with a sample size of merely two cases, it definitely doesn’t make a strong case.” Though the two uses of case are different, it still reads awkwardly. 

“bad rumors” just sounds dumb idk. (Also put that silent ‘u’ back, they’re British!)

“right after he was arrested he came to me...” What? He was in jail, Sherly. At least say he sent for you! You’re bad at lying, boyo. (I suppose he might have meant at the moment of his arrest, but he’s basically already established that the Lord of Crime’s minions were present at that, so that doesn’t make sense either.)

“man behind the curtain” -- anachronistic Wizard of Oz reference, I already mentioned this. Not a big problem in this series lol. 

“However, it’s impossible to prove that I didn’t do it.” Do what? This just feels grammatically weird, what part of the accusation is he referring back to? “Who’d have guessed you were the man behind the curtain?” “It’s impossible to prove that I didn’t do it.” What? 

“However, it’s impossible to prove that I didn’t do it. However, isn’t it your job to prove that I did?” This is killing me. You don’t notice right away because it’s spread over three speech bubbles but those two howevers so close together hurt me. 

Anyway, just wanted to get that off my chest. Also I’m not leaving my bed to grab the next volume and check lol but I’m pretty sure they state distance in miles (though the anime sub had kilometres I believe) and that’s a penalty. (Nope, I was wrong about this part, haha, see replies.)

But maybe that's just his competitive side talking as he gets out of the way for Inui to have his fun. He's never seen the blond man so red.

"Hey baby," Inui greets quietly, burning forehead against yours as you greet him back, still a little breathless but for different reasons, "I need you really bad. Sorry if it's too much, too quickly but I really can't prep you right now."

"As if she'd need that with all she was doing while sucking me off." Kokonoi scoffs, smirking as your lips press together at being caught.

"Naughty kitten," Inui coos sweetly while stroking your hot cheek, "don't pout, it just makes this a lot easier."

Hooking your legs over the inside of his elbows, Inui thrusts forward, sheathing himself inside you all at once and knocking air straight out of your lungs, "I-Inui!"

Your nails attempt to dig into his back, to no avail due to his hardened skin, not quite scales but not quite human skin either. It just makes your fingers ache and slip as you try to hold on and not climb any higher up the bed from his desperate thrusts.

"You're so- warm. Fuck. I'm gonna cum so fast, baby." The blonde man pants, sweaty forehead against the clammy skin of your neck, hot breath fanning across it, too hot to be normal which makes you squirm in slight discomfort.

Before it can get any hotter, a pale hand grasps Inui’s white, scaled tail, making his spine stand up straight while his beautiful blue eyes widen. Then, another hand pull his head back by his blonde hair just as pale smoke escapes between Inui's rosy lips with a moan, "You wanna burn her skin off or something?"

His hips don’t stop moving but he shakes his head ‘no’, he’d never hurt you, even if you plead him to sink his large teeth into your skin or to let his lips grow just a little too warm against it with the promise of leaving a stinging mark, he’d never do it. That’s more Kokonoi’s thing. If you don’t push him, that is.

"Come on, baby boy. Don't you wanna cum? Inside that warm little pussy? I know you do, you've been wanting it all day. Go on." The white hair man whispers into Inui's ear, smacking his perky ass while the other digs his sharp nails into your moving tits.
