These are more focused on the background stuff rather than the usual "what would the character do in XY situation" kinds of asks. I've been looking for something like this for quite a while and in the end decided to make my own. Feel free to use, go wild, enjoy

What was the original thought that led to the creation of this character?

How long was the process before the character reached its final version? (or a version that would be clearly recognizable as the character?)

What was the first thing you decided on, the character's name, appearance, personality or their role in the story?

And reverse, which one of the four things did you struggle with the most?

How did you choose their name and why? Was it simply based on vibes or is there any specific meaning behind the name? Are the reasons behind their name different in- and out of universe?

What was the thought process behind their appearance? Did you go mostly for the aesthetic or are there other reasons they look the way they do?

What is an aspect of their appearance that you like the most?

What is the origin of their personality? And let's be honest - how much of it is projecting?

How big is their role in the story? Do they make a frequent appearance or are they a character with little "screentime" but big influence? Or are they just a favourite background guy?

concept sketch for Velia, a deity I had briefly mentioned in this one-shot. her significance within the story is something of a mystery to Khalan and Aya, and part of their journey through Atria consists of trying to figure out who she is and why she brought them there.

I could've tried to draw more, like a full-body sketch to show that her hair is actually floor-length (a design choice I thought would be cool), but this was all I could do for now :'0

so... I'm adjusting some of Antony's powers because @cookieg122 and I keep reworking Atria's lore in Home Is Where You Are, and this is the result of those changes ><;;

tried to go with a sort of "angel of life and death" vibe with these concepts :0 imo, the sketches turned out kinda nice even tho they're really rough, so I figured I'd share 'em with y'all!

tfw your bad luck gets you accused of committing a crime against the gods that is punishable by death... even though you're completely innocent and were 100% framed 😔 despite the fact that Khalan is immortal and this situation is only a temporary (albeit terrifying) setback, my poor son doesn't deserve this;; doesn't help that he already has PTSD from being burned alive before so it's just extra horrific all around ;_;

trying to allow myself to actually touch on some of the darker stuff that happens within this story and not feel afraid of sharing it online. this scene in particular is a bit new, so I've had a lot of feelings regarding it and had to put those feelings into art;;

had a dream about my old Narnian fan character Pierre last night, so I felt like trying to draw him for the first time in a LONG time ;u; it was insanely nostalgic for me to revisit this character again, and I hope that for some of my long-time followers, it is for you too 💕

I was inspired by @cookieg122's art of Aya in a kimono-style dress from this collection of sketches, so I decided to draw both Khalan and Antony alongside her in similar attire!

we had talked about the idea of the kids going to some kind of summer festival after the events of Act III (which has now been changed to be the act where Khalan gets Really Sick and Antony gets involved), so this is generally what they'd probably wear for the festival; which takes place on the Japanese-inspired island that they're staying on.

also felt like this was a good opportunity to make this into a height chart of sorts for the characters, because I haven't really done that yet. so here it is, haha!

\^w^/ Hello everyone!! It has been a while, but here are some Aya doodles!! @pekoeboo and I have been discussing different parts of HIWYA. We came to the conclusion that Aya's outfit changes depending on the story's arc. After Act 1, she dons her classic look! She still has some other little outfits she wears, like the ones I previously posted, and now I'm adding A CUTE Kimono style!! ^0^// Aya designed it herself. She wants to be as EXTRA as possible, even if it isn't traditional. Everyone look at her! Big thanks to @pekoeboo for collaborating with me on this picture and doing all the coloring/edits!! ;0;; It rlly brings the picture to life! Khalan, Eggs, and Antony belong to her~! PS: The UFO is just a random doodle and has nothing to do with the story hahahha
