I think I have posted about this before but I really love Skizz and Lizzie as a duo

Like I have wanted them to team up ever since they had that small interaction in the first episode of secret life 😭

I think this is partially the reason I love Impossible Minecraft so much because they have been interacting way more than usual and it makes me happy

I haven't seen anyone point this out yet, but it's absolutely insane that Grian started his latest ep with "Previously, on Wild Life: *camera focuses on Mumbo's grave, with Skizz's just barely visible on the edge*" and then the first thing he says is apologising to Skizz that he didn't seem to care when he died, physically unable to keep his laughter in as he does so, and then saying he saw Skizz's death coming. Like, sir? Something you want to share with the class? 👀

Hermit-a-day Day 26: Bonus: Group Hermits!

It's Day 26 - a bonus day - and we've got Groups of Hermits!!!

First off, we have Team TIES, who made a comeback for MCC as the Pink Parrots!

I'm SUPER pleased with this one, even if it took me a long time, and I didn't get quite as much shading/highlights as I would've liked... But since it had taken this long anyways, I really wanted to post it for this, because these four are an AMAZING group!!! (I started it before MCC, but didn't finish it until last night...) I'm also gonna post this individually in a bit, I think?

I also have a Grian and Mumbo piece from a while back, that I finished somewhat more recently.

(I know there's technically nothing on Mumbo's paper - pretend it's redstone or building plans) But I love how goofy this pose came out, and the way Grian's wings kinda flopped out.

And finally, I REALLY wanted to have a GIGGS piece and Buttercups piece done, but I just... Didn't have time today. But, here's the start of the GIGGS piece anyways!

I haven't decided yet if they'll get their "creature features" or if they'll just be "normal people" (none of these guys are normal)... And I'm trying yet another style (one that matches the pose I'm referencing better) but I think it's turning out well, and as a sort of hybrid between my all-out style and my chibi-esque style...

I have a pose in mind for a Buttercups piece, that I'll post eventually if I draw it, but who knows when that would be, XD.

the AU concept essentially sprung from my sleep-deprived and angst-craving brain, on a flight to melbourne at 2am.

The basic idea is that Etho and Joel are pirates in a nautical fantasy world, with gods, magic, and fantastical sea beasts (+ Lizzie).

Etho and Joel end up with their souls linked after the two of them take and use cursed magic items 'belonging' to the god of souls, a vengeful being who feeds on the emotions and souls of mortals (it does not have a name yet-). So now they share injuries which means neither can satisfy the urge to strangle the other without causing themself harm. Sad! The items do give them powers though, which is a bonus. Yeah Joel might be seperated from his wife and has to deal with etho but he can also turn into a wolf so its not all bad.

Prior to meeting Joel, Etho was a loner, having already lost his soul in his shitty deal with the god (yet somehow still being alive... hmm... smells like a plot point....). He spent a fair while running around causing chaos (got involved with King Ren a while and worked for him, because despite being a pirate and generally against the idea of a monarchy he will not pass up the chance to get some extra coin if it suits him), but eventually settled down in a seaside pirate-ridden town because he was massively wanted after betraying the King's trust and also kind of tired. Here and there, he did the bidding of his god, which generally consisted of killing people (the god could just smite them but this is more interesting for it to watch). Etho's cursed item is a dagger that gives him the ability to go unnoticed when he's sneaking around places. If people are looking for him, their eyes gloss over him, if he's trying to be quiet he will literally not make a noise, and if he's picking someone's pocket his touch is feather light. Unlike Joel's amulet, there's nothing special about the dagger that gives him these powers, it just grants whatever the user would find coolest or most useful. Etho avoids using the dagger in combat for... reasons, and instead opts to use an arsenal of other knives he has.

Before Joel had his soul split in two (because note that difference, Etho was running around soulless for a decade before this somehow) with one half shoved in Etho's glass eye, Joel was a pirate captain with a crew consisting of Jimmy and probably some other empires people, or just random bg characters. Joel was probably one of the most dangerous pirates to encounter out there, not because of his ships firepower (though they've got a lot of that), but because he somehow always had the environment on his side. (Almost like the Ocean Goddess was his wife... or something...)

Most of the plot revolves around them being sent on a long errand by the soul god to find one of its other 'followers' that it lost track of. They end up putting together a shabby crew, meeting character's from their pasts, and desperately seeking a solution to the soul-linked issue that doesn't end up with both of them dead.

Wild Life spoilers below! Like, a lot of spoilers.

So, Flower Husbands and Boat Boys fans, how're we feeling?

Jimmy asking Scott to look at his butt and Scott dropping everything to comply, then saying Jimmy's butt is maybe a bit bigger than the G's base, and Jimmy going in the most flirtatious voice ever, "Aww, stop it!" Why are they like this? You all know I'm a die-hard Ranchers truther, but oh my word.

And then Etho "tough guy" Slab coming to Joel to be like, "Joel, Bdubs is bullying me, come help!" and Joel going along with it IMMEDIATELY??? He didn't even question it, just went, that tracks, and went to go bully Bdubs on Etho's behalf. Not to mention Joel seeing the bamboozlers in boats and going, "Hey, that's mine and Etho's thing! I have to go find Etho!" He's so obsessed fr. (Also, Etho coming over to warn Gem and Joel Tango was on the hunt? "Tough guy" my ass, this guy physically cannot restrain himself from being nice and also obsessed.)

Also. Can we talk about Tango real quick (least surprising thing I've ever said)? This guy. He's almost as bad as Skizz at killing! How does he EVER get as far as he does? I say this with the maximum possible amount of love in my heart, Tango is my beloved, but goodness my gracious, he's such a wet cat of a man. The poor guy is so pathetic! I'm glad he can stay smiling and having fun throughout it all though, he's such a good sport. I did genuinely believe he was about to go out of the series about three times in his episode though.

I also loved Gem trying so hard to help the reds and yellows kill her without actively letting them do it was adorable. She was genuinely proud of Mumbo when he finally got her! I love how she interacts with everyone, especially when they're trying to kill her. She's either silent in concentration, sighing in exasperation, or just straight-up giggling with glee. She's having so much fun in this series, I love it. I'm so happy for her.

I loved the way people started gunning for Grian specifically cause he made the series. They're finally rising up against the Watchers, finally taking control of their own lives and narratives. Combined with the hc that each of the wildcards are an aspect of the Watchers (I'm assuming this is something about them being outside time? Idk), and this season is building up some insane lore possibilities.
