🟧 AFTER YOM KIPPUR - Updates from Israel

⭕SUICIDE DRONES from HEZBOLLAH hit HERTZILYA on Yom Kippur night, hitting a NURSING HOME.  1 intercepted, 1 got through.  1 injury.

⭕HEAVY ROCKET BARRAGES across the north, hitting Haifa, Acco, Karmiel, Safed, Rosh Pina, and towns throughout the north over Yom Kippur.  3 people were slightly injured by a rocket falling in the Western Galilee and 12 were slightly injured on the way to a protected area.

You are the adoptive daughter of Nick Fury, when you were 5 he adopt you when your parents died on a plane crash that was cause by Hydra, your parents and Nick were good friends that’s why he took you in.

You were a smart kid, always analyzing things, Fury told everything to you and never lie. To protect your identity Nick made you a new one as you volunteer to be an agent of Hydra to gain information and was branded by the organization. You did dangerous mission and always getting out alive.

You were then sent back to and joined the Avengers initiative but the avengers were suspicious of you as you came out of nowhere, no files, no nothing but a name and Fury’s trust.

No one knew who you are to protect your identity in recon so the avengers treated you coldly but you didn’t care, you didn’t tell it to your father about the situation you are in because you were train to adapt and you did. You were kind to them and all as you and Natasha got closer… like really close. Out of all Natasha Romanoff is the one you have trusted the most.

You got out from the elevator after a short report you did to Nick about the information you got for the Winter Soldier when you heard the laughing of the team as they sat in the living room with pizza on the table as they talked and laugh at each other.

The laughter halted when they all noticed you and silence came… you knew you were never welcome her but your father trust them so you really had no choice but to put up with it, sensing their discomfort you just gave them a nod greeting them.

“Good evening Avengers” no one answered as you expected and left and went to your room, you heard a light foot steps following you and a hand holding your wrist and seeing a familiar red head you have fallen with for the past few weeks.

“Thanks” you nodded at him you continue your pursuit taking down agents as you skillfully glide yourself on the battle field.

The battle had stop when Clint finished the last guy as Steve and Natasha immerge from the control room with a case on hand.

“Mission complete, how’s the perimeter Tony?” Captain said on the coms as you get close to Natasha scanning her for any injuries and sighted in relieve when you found none.

“Perimeter is clear as the sky Steve were ready to go home” you smiled at the thought of home… Fury promised you a dinner with Maria and Coulson when you get back since things have been busy these couple of week and you were really excited about it since it’s going to be your first dinner with them again since you got back from recon.

“time for phase 2 then, Romanoff” you frowned at Steve’s word

Phase 2? You never heard about it when at the briefing

You were still in confusion when Steve called Natasha and you felt a searing pain by your side

You wiped your head to your side seeing a knife… a knife you gifted to Natasha lunge by your side.

You looked at her eyes full of betrayal and so as Clint and Steve who was in there with you.

“Phase 2 complete, were leaving, now die you Hydra scum” Steve said voice full of spite hearing a ‘good job’ from Tony and a ‘let’s go’ from Clint as you fall down on your knees looking at their retreating figure leaving you.

The last one you saw was the red headed assassin taking one last look at you as they close the door as your whole body fall down on the cold ground.

You shakily grabbed your phone dialing your father’s number as he answered rather cheerful

“Y/N why are you calling me? Is your mission done?” you heard your dad’s voice making you tear up a bit

“D-dad…”

“get your ass here kid Maria and Coulson just arrived here and im about to finish cooking these turkey”

“c-can I have a rain check on the dinner dad… I kinda messed up…” your voice was now shaking and you are feeling colder than usual the blade may have a poison as you felt a burn and getting light headed faster than normal.

Fury must have sense that there is something wrong by the way your voice sounded

“Y/N what happened? Are you ok?” you can hear his voice full of worry as you heard Maria and Coulson from the background asking what’s wrong.

“I-I think I was the p-phase 2 of S-Steve’s plan dad… it’s really g-getting cold here ya know” blood tricked on the ground from your wound

Your vision darken as flashes of memories filled your eyes.

You can hear the shuffles from the other line saying they are tracking my call and will be sending medical help

“I’m s-scared d-dad… I still d-don’t wanna go” you cried,

“Help is on the way Y/N keep holding on I’m here for you kid” you can hear the shakiness of your father’s voice, you kept trying to keep your eyes open and now seeing dark spots forming.

“T-thanks for everything dad… tell Maria and Coulson I love them…” your voice was barely audible hearing their cried for you to wake up.

“Keep your eyes open for me kid… please”

“I-I think a need a nap… l-love you dad” and you were gone.

They kept calling for you but you never answered back.

Fury along with Maria and Coulson with a medical team arrived at the base eyes redden because of crying as they found you on the cold ground with your phone by your side and a stab.

Fury cradle you like a baby as the medic announced your death with Maria and Coulson crying by the side.

“Did you check the monitors?” Fury’s cold voice echoed in a quinjet as your cold body layed beside him with your head on his lap stroking the hair that is covering your face.

“you’re not gonna like it boss…” Maria said with blood shot eyes as she played the video of Steve ordering the Phase 2 and Natasha Romanoff stabbing you as they left you.

“call them up at SHIELD… they would pay for what they did to her” Nick ordered as Coulson took his phone out to call them.

Nick glanced at you as he swiped some blood by your mouth hugging your corpse closer to him.

They avenger’s arrived at SHIELD seeing Fury holding Y/N’s hand as she lay dead on the table with Maria and Coulson by the back holding back their anger.

“What is the phase 2 Captain” Nick’s voice was colder than usual

“… to eliminate the Hydra-“ Steve answered as the other’s stayed silent

“and who is the Hydra?”

 “Y/n…”

 Then there’s silence, the team were uncomfortable with the silence but Steve was getting impatient with all of it.

“Look I don’t know what is your point here but you should thank us for killing the mole here Fury”

Fury looked at them as Coulson held Maria who was about to attack Steve as Fury spoke…

   “I see no dead mole here Rogers… all I see is my dead daughter”

  The team’s eyes widen as they froze from there spot

“W-what?” Bruce asked

“Y/N Fury... is my daughter who you called a Hydra scum”

“B-but she had the brand-“

“She had the brand because she was undercover inside Hydra that gave her the mark to extract information for your missions that is saving billions!” Fury angrily shouted making them all flinch.

All of it dawned to them as Natasha fall into her knees realizing she killed a hero… she killed her friend who trusted her… she killed the person who loved her…

“I pulled her out of the recon to keep her safe knowing her all her covers were blown, I put her into your team so she can be protected thinking after all those years of being away we can have a normal dinner like she wanted for years, I trusted my daughter in your hand yet you are the one who killed her…”

Fury stood up tears streaming down on his face

“Avenger Initiative’s termination is effective immediately, all of you would be put in maximum security prison for killing Y/N Fury” Agents entered taking their weapons and cuffing them

 “Nick… I’m sorry” Steve’s voice filled with regret rang out as Fury looked at him coldly throwing a file on the ground in front of him as the content spilled revealing pictures of the Winter Soldier.

 “Y/N wanted to give you this information from the last recon she was put in to, James “Bucky” Barnes is alive and now known as the Winter Soldier who is working for Hydra and has killed thousands”

Steve’s face was full of shock knowing his best friend Bucky is alive…

“I’m sorry to cap…” Fury cut him off and coldly apologies to Steve who is now confuse to why as everyone in the room looked at them in silence.

 “you took someone dear away from me… and now I’m taking yours, Good Bye Avengers and thank you for your service” before Steve and others could react they were all tranquilized knocking them out cold and only waking up in a glass cell with Ross smirking at them as they sat there in silence thinking the things that they have done for you.

“welcome to your new life Avengers…in prison!” and a loud laugh erupted from Ross as he walked out as ex-heroes gazes followed his exit.

Vampire Atem/Yami Alphabet Headcanons

Found this list of vamp-themes headcanons by @an-annyeoing-writer and I knew I had to do them for our favorite king-turned-spirit!

For those of you who read my Spells of Defiance series, these headcanons can be taken as 100% canon to that AU <3

A - Accident - would they turn someone to save their life?

Oof, already starting with a hard one. So, Atem is one of those vampires who hates his existence, he believes it’s a curse. However, he does still love and care for people deeply, and he knows that for many, life is sacred even if it’s a cursed life. I think in a moment of weakness, especially in his earlier years as a vampire, he might turn someone just because he’s desperate not to lose them, only to regret his decision later, especially if that someone is like him and hates what they’ve become. We all make mistakes, right?

B - Bite - how do they bite? Sensually, aggressively? Do they make it hurt or try to be gentle?

Atem is extremely gentle when he feeds off of people, always careful not to bite too deep or tear the skin more than needed, he even holds you and tries to soothe you with gentle strokes of his hands. Now, whether he tries to make it “sensual” or at all sexual...that’s a complicated topic. While Atem is almost always disgusted with himself when/while he feeds, he does recognize that there is a level of intimacy and even romance that can be connected with drinking blood, so sometimes he can be persuaded to make it a more sensual thing if you’re his lover. 

C - Control - do they take advantage of their powers?

That depends on who’s in the equation. I can see Atem using his new powers in order to bring justice to those he sees as wrong doers (like his season 0/early manga-self) as a way to make his vampire abilities useful, so from that angle he would “take advantage” of his powers. He might even get some small gratification in using his strength and speed to hunt down evil people, them cowering in fear is retribution for their wrong-doings, but even that’s not too over the top. Other than that, no, he doesn’t really use his powers for advantages over others.

D - Dangerous - how scary they can get? How bad things can they do? What’s their ethics?

So, while Atem does have a very strong moral code, Atem also has a temper, and said temper might be harder to control when he’s a vampire. Even when he’s not growling in anger, he can have this cold glare that could make bikers squeamish. There are moments, especially when he was a younger vampire, where he loses his temper and can get pretty scary. If you’re his loved one don’t worry too much, he would never lose control enough to hurt you, even though his yelling (and maybe throwing a thing or two) is pretty scary on it’s own. If you’re someone he sees a vermin though watch out, when he gets scary you’re probably going to end up dead or wishing you were dead.

E - Exchange - do they opt for blood bags or animal blood, if possible?

He opts for animal blood as often as he can. Sometimes he’ll hunt said animals himself but even that is a little too violent for his liking (Atem is a softie okay?!) so if he can go to a local butcher and get animal blood from them he’ll do it that way. He’s not fond of blood bags because A) they’re harder to acquire and B) having human blood in a cold plastic bag just makes him long for warm human blood and skin under his teeth more. Sure animal blood isn’t as sustaining for him, but Atem spent decades (maybe even centuries) figuring out how much animal blood he needs to consume in order to keep his blood lust under control so he’ll choose that over harming an innocent human.

Also, side note, if you live with him I hope you don’t have a sensitive sense of smell, because he heats up the blood on the stove to make it taste better and it can make the house stinky lol

F - First bite - on what occasion would they bite you for the first time?

Oooh that’s a good one. Like I said Atem has a very complicated relationship with feeding from his loved ones, especially his s/o, and he’s never going to ask you for your blood. So I’d say that not only would you have to offer your blood to him, but he would have to be out of other feeding options at the time. He knows that once he reaches a certain point of hunger he loses control and might kill you in a hunger-induced blood rage, so if drinking from you now, before he gets to that point, prevents that danger, he’d be willing to. Like I said above, Atem would be very gentle with you on that occasion, holding you close and stroking the skin around the bite mark to soothe any pain, and when he’s done he’d kiss the wound and the sore skin around it as amends.

The only other “first bite” scenario I can think of is if you spend months convincing him that you don’t mind (or even like) the occasional bite and finally convince him to drink your blood during an intimate moment, and again he’s very gentle and mindful of not hurting you.

G - Growl - are they more on the “civilized” side or do they enjoy hunting their prey down?

A bit of both, I guess? Since he tries not to drink from humans he’s more civilized in that way, but like I said before he does “hunt” evil people like an avenging dark angel, which he may get some small form of enjoyment from, so... 

H - Hate - how do they feel about their kind? About themselves?

It’s honestly pretty depressing how much self-loathing Atem harbors. He genuinely thinks he’s an abomination. It doesn’t help that in all his centuries of living, he’s met very few vampires who’re “good” like him. He’s also someone who’s on a high horse and if he met a vamp who didn’t kill human’s but also wasn’t self loathing like him, he’d look down on said vampire. I’m warning you now if you fall in love with him, his self-hatred is very upsetting and can be hard to deal with.

I - Intimacy - how fast would they let you close to them? Would they want to share with you what they are?

Surprisingly, I say it’s not that hard. See, even though Atem thinks he’s a monster and tries his best to stay away from people, he also craves companionship and love. Sure, he’s spent several chunks of his immortal life isolating himself in remote woods and tall mountains for decades at a time, but he always returns to humanity at some point. So if you show that you want to be close to him he’ll try to warn you or even scare you away a bit, but it won’t take too long to let you in. And yes, he’d share what he is with you if you started to get close to him, not only as a means to scare you away “before he can hurt you” but also so you know what you’re getting into by being near him.

J - Joke - would they do pranks on other people with the use of their powers?

Sometimes, yes. If he’s close to you, he’ll start to get comfortable and like teasing you, so he’ll do minor things like sneak up behind you soundlessly and jump scare you, or zoom past you to get to something before you and play keep-away. Also, he doesn’t do this one intentionally, but sometimes he’ll be sitting in a dark room, and when you walk in you just suddenly hear this voice calling out to you in the darkness, scaring the crap outta you lol

K - Key - what’s the way of making them open up to you?

Honestly just...continue to shove your friendship in his face. Like I said under “intimacy” he still craves relationships and companionship despite how much he fears hurting people. He may try to push you away at first but if you just continue to hang around him he’ll eventually stop trying to scare you away and start opening up to you little by little.

L - Life - do they wish they were human?

Absolutely. I can see Atem, ever the fixer of problems, spending the first few hundred years searching for a cure for his “condition” not just for himself but for others who view vampires the same way. He often thinks about what his life would have been if he hadn’t been turned, and daydreams about the possibility of becoming human again. 

M - Murder - would they kill someone while feeding? Have they ever done so?

Atem has killed while feeding, yes, but not voluntarily. I’m going with the general lore that vampires, when starved too long, can't control their bloodlust and Atem has killed while in that state. When he wakes with a limp, lifeless body in his arms, he’s a devastated wreck. Hurting innocent people is literally his living nightmare and the idea that his bloodlust can turn him into an animal sickens him. He would spend decades learning how much blood he needs to consume and how often, in order to keep that bloodlust from taking control.

N - Nature - do they justify their doings? Do they consider them natural?

Atem, the self-loathing martyr of a fanged prince, considering his bloodlust natural? LMAOOOO No. No he doesn’t, nor does he ever justify his actions. In fact, he uses the terrible things he’s done to justify why he shouldn’t be loved or even alive.

O - Odd - do they have any specific hobbies or habits?

Our gentle dark prince still loves games and puzzles, I think he’d like modern brain teasers that keep his mind sharp and un-ironically loves the puzzle games printed on the back of sunday newspapers, even though they aren’t hard (for him anyway). If you got close to him and showed him games he never got to play bc they’re multiplayers he’d honestly love you. He’d win most of the time, let's be honest, especially things like Clue, but his expression is just so cute and excited when you play his favorites that you’d lose 1000 times over just to see it.

P - Pain - are they sadistic? Do they enjoy what they do?

Nope. I think you all have the idea by now but Atem is one of the most self-loathing and gentle vampires you’d meet....or at least he’s gentle with you. Other vampires who hurt people for fun? Okay, I can see him being ever so slightly sadistic when dealing with creatures like that, he has no mercy for vampires who’ve embraced their monstrous curse, best you run the other way when he punishes them, else you may actually get a little frightened of him...

R - Roles - do they enjoy pretending to be normal people? How do they feel about leaving their life behind to start a new one?

I wouldn’t say that Atem pretends to be normal, in fact, the only part of his vampirism that he embraces is being an “other”, or rather, the aesthetic of being odd, something that most humans feel uneasy when confronted with. He’d see this as a good tool to keep people he may hurt away from him. He’s no stranger to stalking graveyards/cemeteries, creeping in the shadows in a way that has others scurrying past if they happen to spot him, basically anything that makes him seem creepy and makes others keep their distance. Ultimately it hurts him since he’s unexplainably lonely, but it hurts more to know he may hurt the humans he comes across. On the same note, leaving behind one life for another to avoid suspicion is a double-edged sword for him, while it reminds him how terribly lonely existence is, it’s good to keep those who might’ve grown close to him safe.

S - Scars - do they leave marks or try to make the wounds small and invisible?

If Atem feeds from someone voluntarily (as in, not in an animalistic state), he’ll do everything he can to not leave lasting marks. Leaving marks means more pain and we all know how much he hates causing pain to others. 

T - Turned - how were they turned?

In my fic, Marik turned Atem as a form of revenge, but otherwise, I could honestly see Atem being turned by any YGO villain. I say villain because him being cursed with this life by a villain (like Bakura for example, or maybe another minion of Zorc) kind of goes along with the original story’s need to punish Atem and cast him into darkness for things that ultimately weren’t his fault.

U - Universe - what’s their biggest wish that they can’t achieve as immortals?

Mostly just...being close to people without constantly worrying that he’ll hurt or kill them. I can also see Atem yeaning for the simple pleasure of growing old and dying with one's family. If he fell in love he would crave the ability to just settle down and grow old together. Hell, he’s even one of those morbid romantics who thinks couples dying within days of each other is sweet and wishes he could do that when he loses his lover to old age.

V - Vampire - would they turn you?

Man again with the hard ones! Oof, okay, so...If you asked Atem to turn you, he’d say no, reciting his monologue about how vampires are cursed vermin who shouldn’t even exist, even if you retained your humanity after the turn, he knows the deep reaches of this curse and what it will make you do, and he hates the idea of you going through what he has.

...However, much like in the very first headcanon on this list...Atem makes mistakes and has his weak moments. If your life ended unexpectedly, of you were taken from him suddenly, like attacked or in some fatal accident, he may turn you in a moment of weakness; a desperate need to cling to you taking over his better judgment. He’d hate himself after and the only way he’d ever feel okay with it, is if time proved that you retained your humanity. He would teach you how to control your blood lust so you don’t have to go through half the things he has, and only then would he be okay with what he did to you in his moment of weakness.

W - War - would they engage in fighting their own kind for the humanity’s sake?

Yes! No one even has to ask him, Atem basically thinks the only good thing he can do with his powers is to rid the world of other vampires. He’s basically an avenging angel who’ll hunt down any vampire who threatens a human.

Y - Yandere - would they become dangerous to you (their lover)?

For the most part, I’d say no. Atem is self-aware and emotionally intelligent enough to tell if he ever starts crossing lines into “unhealthy” territory, and if that ever happened, he’d literally run away. He would leave you in order to protect you, no matter how much it hurt. There may be one (literally ONE) incident where he does something to you that crosses the line, but he’d be instantly horrified and remove himself from your life, moving to the other side of the world with no means to follow him, if it meant protecting you from himself. Now the chances of this happening in the first place? Hard to say. I really don’t think Atem is unhinged or even violent enough for it to be likely, but, an argument could be made that after everything he’s gone through, Atem may start seeing you and his love for you in an obsessives, unhealthy way. Again though, even if this did happen he would realize it and run away before it can go too far.

Z - Zombie - are they on their way to losing sanity?

I don’t think so. Atem is as strong (mentally/emotionally) as they come. Maybe eventually, after millennia and millennia of constantly losing loved ones and dealing the the monster he’s become he would start losing his sanity, but that would take a long, long time.

The empty, hollow feeling in his chest.

The sympathetic look on Happy’s face was the same he’d seen on numerous people’s faces after Ben had died. Not that he’d needed to be given the bad news then. He’d been right there at the time. Blood that had seemed to soak into his skin; stuck under his nails like glue.

A warm hand touched his arm. “Peter?”

Peter looked up into Happy’s red-rimmed eyes.

“Did you hear what I said?”

Peter cleared his thick throat. “May is dead.”

Happy flinched just a little, giving an almost imperceptible nod.

There was an expecting silence: Peter turned his eyes back to the ground. Happy would expect him to have questions: he searched around in the muddy soil of his mind to find an appropriate one.

“What, um, what happened to her?”

He wasn’t there to save her. He was gone; floated away into dust on an alien planet. Though he hadn’t been able to save Ben, why did he think he would’ve stood a chance to save May?

“It, uh, it was breast cancer. She fought it but about 13 months ago, she…it was too much.”

Peter hated that term ‘fighting’ a cancer. Like you had any chance if it got deep into you.

“I’m sorry to have to tell you now, like this, but…” Happy’s face was scrunched up and it took Peter a moment to process what it must be like for him today. Had it only been a day since the battle with Thanos? Since Mr Stark…?

“Sorry Happy, this is the last thing that you need to be thinking of. I know you and Mr Stark were close.”

Happy’s face crumpled even more. “You lost him too, kid.”

Peter took a sharp breath. If you lost two people in one day – did it double the pain? The grief? He should be crying, right? After Ben, he cried a lot. Didn’t talk much but he cried a lot. Maybe it would be the opposite now?

“Yeah…yeah…well…he was pretty annoyed at me the last time I was with him…”

Peter ignored the battlefield hug. Mr Stark hadn’t even really spoken to him. The hug: it must have been the adrenaline.

Happy’s face morphed into a different kind of frown. “He wasn’t…he…he cared a hell of a lot about you, Peter.”

Peter stood up, the pain of his broken ribs causing his arms to tighten around his body: fingers gripping into the scrubs the Wakandan doctors had provided. The cast on his arm was so lightweight that he barely noticed it: just the beat of pain beneath whatever material it was.

“Yeah. Um, did you say we had to go now?”

Happy’s eyes looked at him mistrustfully for a second before looking at his watch.

“Yeah, Strange or one of the Wizards will portal us back to New York. It’s going to be chaos there.”

Half the world returning; yeah, it would be. With May gone, he didn’t even have a home there anymore. Peter could only guess that Child Services would have their hands full. Maybe he could stay off their radar entirely. He could find Ned and MJ – he didn’t know if they had snapped or if they had somewhere to stay now.

“The Compound is annihilated but Tony bought the Tower back, thank God. Not that they stayed there much but at least The Avengers will have somewhere to be. Tony changed a lot of the guest floors into more R&D labs, so you might not get your old room back –“

“My room?” Peter looked at Happy quizzically. “I’m…staying too?” Peter’s voice wavered.

Happy looked at him like he was mad. “Yes you’re –“ Happy faltered. “You think we’re just gonna put you out in the street?”

Peter didn’t answer other than a small shrug.

Happy looked upset by that. “You’re…” Happy looked like he didn’t know what to say. “Hell, you’re an Avenger aren’t you?”

Peter remembered being knighted in the donut ship, but that had been out of necessity rather than having been deserved. “I guess.”

“I think you’ve earned a frickin’ bed.” Happy’s eyes ran over his injuries. “Are you in pain? I can get you some meds before we go….?”

“Nah,” Peter lied, “no pain.”

Happy again eyed him suspiciously. Five years had apparently not weakened his memory. Before he could get interrogated, Happy’s phone flashed.

“Time to go home, kid.”

28. Any writing advice that works for you and you feel like sharing?

Nothing that hasn’t already been said by smarter people than me. But I think for me it is trying not to let my own self doubt stop me. Keep writing even if you think it is pants, you can always go back and edit and the more you write, the better you get. And even if what I write is pants to other people, I enjoy the process of it so honestly, what else matters?

Hmmm… I have to pick?! Well I would say that I lean more towards ‘this happened but’ fix its. Like changing the ending but not the journey? I dunno.

Hi, could you please write a headcanon for a Mc who is the daughter of Thor from Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow and the dorm leaders reaction to this. If it is possible thank you.

OMG!!!! The Next Avengers isn’t known a lot and I didn’t expect to receive a request from it. I suggest checking out their comics too. I enjoyed both the movie and comics but I am based and it made a major ship of mine canon. I’ll leave their comics look under the cut.

I’ll refer MC as Torunn for this request. It’s been over 6 years that I watched this so I might have forgotten her characteristics.

Riddle Rosehearts

Riddle thought Torunn was only a trouble maker who loves to brawl which encourages Ace and Deuce more. He cannot allow that so he tries to talk with Torunn to adapt more appropriate manners.

He sees that his talk backfires when she comes with her giant sword to Heartslabyul. Riddle starts “Queen of Hearts Rule #666 says that you cannot use a sword bigger than -” but he is interrupted by her. HE is furious as it is also against the rules “I’m not using it, I’m just holding it. If I used it” she summons lightning which freaks him out “it would be Mjölnir”

Riddle thinks of adding a few new rules to Heartslabyul such as “No lightning summoning in Heartlabyul” and “No Mjölnir in the dorm” just for Torunn. He doesn’t like how she got around the rules, accidentally asking it out and embarrassing himself and unfortunately Torunn heard it, answering his stupid question.

When Leona first saw Torunn at the entrance ceremony, he thought she is a twink. His opinion on her changes when she plays Magift with her friends against Savanclaw.

If he didn’t have a plan in motion, he would have asked Torunn to transfer to Savanaclaw to play in his team against Diasomnia. He thinks she would have countered the Lizard and Savanaclaw would have won.

Even after the whole Magift tournament, he makes Ruggie ask her to join Magift club. She may not be a player but that doesn’t mean she wouldn’t be useful to train against as a practice for the next year’s Magift. He even encourages her to use her full powers to learn how to counter lightning when fighting against the Lizard in Magift.

Azul Ashengrotto

Azul didn’t think much of Torunn until she became a torn at his side. He thought he can trick her into a contract easily but some unforeseeable events happened. First she cares about her friends more than he predicted and second, she is a deity. He learns about the later when she puts her fist fast on the coffee table which breaks while all the electricity in Monstro Lounge goes out, yet Torunn’s eyes are glowing and small lightnings appear on her arms.

He may want the deed of Ramshackle dorm but he knows it is not wise to piss off a deity who can manipulate the electricity, is super powerful and probably has lightning powers. He releases her friends from his servitude and tries to find new ways to get deed of Ramshackle.

After the overblot incident, there is no bad blood between them and he thinks Torunn as close associate. He hires her to generate enough energy for Mostro Lounge to use every few days. The amount he pays to Torunn is far less than his electricity bill. He even thinks of hiring her for Octavinelle’s whole energy need.

Kalim Al-Asim

Kalim is ever the friendly person. When he first meets Torunn, he invites her to the feast. When Torunn says his feast reminds him of the feasts of Asgard with plenty of food and people, he says “I don’t know what you mean but thank you.” She then adds that she has never seen that feast while she struggled with her made-up family in the world Ultron ruled.

When her words register with Kalim, it touches his heart. He says he didn’t mean to upset her and apologizes. He asks the reason behind it and sheds tears when he hears her story. He promises to be her friend as long as she is in Twisted Wonderland.

Have you heard of Solica, the Jewish Joan of Ark?

Writing in Jewish Journal, Tabby Raphael tells the story of the martyrdom of Solica Hachuel, executed for refusing to convert to Islam in Fez, Morocco in 1834.

Solica was falsely accused of converting to Islam, and then wanting to return to Judaism, a grievous crime punishable by death. She refused repeated offers to convert to Islam (as well as repeated marriage proposals, including, it is believed, an offer by the sultan’s son). Even the hachamim of Morocco begged her to comply because the Jewish community was also at risk, but Solica refused to abandon Judaism. Rather than decide her fate himself, the sultan placed her case into the hands of the cadi, or an Islamic judge and court.

That sealed Solica’s fate. The Jewish community was mortified to learn that she was sentenced to beheading on market day in 1834. The executioner first made sharp cuts in her neck, hoping she would finally agree to convert. Solica’s final words are astonishing: “Do not make me linger — behead me at once — for dying as I do, innocent of any crime, the G d of Abraham will avenge my death!”

Believing she would still relent, the executioner cut off her limbs, but still Solica would not convert. Some believe that Solica Hachuel was beheaded on June 5, 1834, while others claim the date is unknown and hold the annual hilloula (pilgrimage) to her tomb in May or June to coincide with the passing of Rabbi Haim HaCohen, another Jewish tzaddik (saint) who also is buried in the Fez Jewish cemetery. 

Of that dark day in Fez, Eugenio Maria Romero, a Christian scholar, wrote, “The Moors, whose religious fanaticism is indescribable, prepared, with their accustomed joy, to witness the horrid scene. The Jews of the city … were moved with the deepest sorrow, but they could do nothing to avert it.” Romero claimed he interviewed those who knew Solica, including her parents, for his 1837 book, “El Martirio de la Jóven Hachuel, ó, La Heroina Hebrea” (The Martyrdom of the Young Hatchouel, or, The Hebrew Heroine”).

I’ll spare readers the details of the incredible trouble the Jews of Fez endured to secure Solica’s body, the blood-soaked earth beneath her, and especially her head, and to properly bury them in accordance with Jewish law. Those details are not for the faint of heart, but I’m always amazed at the lengths Jews will endure to ensure proper Jewish burial, whether for loved ones or strangers. 

Solica was buried in the Jewish cemetery in Fez, in a space normally reserved for the hachamim. Each year, thousands of Moroccan Jews make an annual pilgrimage to her tomb, but amazingly, she is also considered a saint for some Muslims. For nearly 200 years, Moroccans have believed that Solica intervenes on behalf of sick children; many baby girls are named after her. 

And many songs, as well as several books, works of art and even a film have been made about this remarkable young woman. “Tony, watch out!” Steve yells over the coms just as Peter’s spider-sense erupts at the back of his head. He turns just in time to see one of the Hydra goons they’re fighting hurl a high-tech grenade at Tony.

Without thinking, Peter runs at Tony, counting the seconds in his head. He shoves the man away just in time before an explosion goes off. The force of it throws Peter backwards.

He blacks out before his body hits the ground.

...

The next thing he’s aware of is pain. Searing pain, shooting through his entire body as if he is being burned alive. His head is the worst—it feels like it’s going to burst. Peter struggles to open his impossibly heavy eyes, and when he finally manages it, he’s met with blurriness. He can feel someone grabbing him under the armpits and dragging him backwards across the ground.

“...stay with – you gotta – with me!” He can barely hear the voice above the shrill ringing in his ears.

When his eyes slip shut once again, he knows no more.

A voice finds its way through the darkness—the first thing Peter’s able to register before the pain comes back to him all at once. A weak groan slips past his lips.

“Pete? You with me, kid?”

Peter manages to open his eyes, blinking away the blurriness, only to be met with Tony looking down at him, out of his suit. It looks like they’re in a building, maybe a small bunker. “W-Wha’ happn’d?” He mumbles.

“You took a pretty bad hit, kiddo. How are you feeling?” Tony asks, brows pulled together in concern.

“C-Crappy,” Peter answers, squeezing his eyes shut tightly with a gasp when a wave of white hot agony washes over him. He can feel Tony’s hand on his shoulder but it’s not enough to reassure or distract him from the pain knifing through his skull. Peter’s never been in this much pain before in his entire life.

A loud explosion suddenly goes off close to them outside, causing Peter to startle. It jostles his wounds, sending waves of agony throughout his body. It sounds like it’s getting worse out there. This just might be a mission the Avengers lose.

A mission Peter might not return home from.

“Cap said Hydra started a countdown on that nuke they’ve been cooking up before the comms went down. We have to get out of here before this place blows to hell but without my suit, that’s gonna be a challenge,” Tony explains quickly. “Do you think you can stand?”

Everything hurts too much to breathe, and he doesn’t even want to think about getting up right now. “I don’t... I don’t think I can,” Peter admits, tears starting to pool in his eyes. There’s no use lying at this point. This is the end of the line for him.

“Oh, kiddo, it’s okay. We’re going to figure something out, alright?” Tony tells him, reaching down and gently wiping away a tear from Peter’s cheek with his thumb.

“T’ny... I...” Peter stops to cough, tasting something horribly gross and coppery in his mouth. Blood. Coughing up blood probably isn’t a good sign. He isn’t stupid—from the way his limbs are starting to feel oddly cold and numb...he doesn’t have long. “I-I’m not gonna make it,” he stammers. “Y-You n-need to... to g-go...”

Tony shakes his head. “Nope. Not an option, kiddo. We’re both getting out of here.” He runs a hand through Peter’s hair but his fingers freeze when he touches at the back of his head. Tony retracts his hand and his eyes widen when he sees that it’s covered in thick blood.

“Tony-”

“No. I’m gonna get you out of here, Pete. Please, just let me carry you.” Tony carefully starts to snake his arms underneath him, but it causes a jolt of searing pain to travel down Peter’s back and he cries out. “Okay, okay...” Immediately Tony lowers him back to the ground. His eyes frantically darting around them. “There has to be something I can put you on so I can carry you-”

Peter weakly lifts his arm and grabs the man’s hand. “Tony,” he croaks. His mentor looks down at him, tears in his eyes. Peter can feel his own tears sliding down his cheeks. “Y-You h-have to l-leave me. Th-There’s no time.”

This is it... this is goodbye. Peter isn’t going home. He’s never going to see May ever again, or his friends, or the team. Maybe when they meet again someday in heaven. But Peter doesn’t want to go yet. There’s so much he hasn’t done—so many things he wants to do and places to go. He never got the chance to get his driver’s license, build that tree house with Tony for Morgan, take MJ out on a proper date, get married, have kids... nothing. He’s not going to be able to do any of those things now. But that’s fine. Tony would be dead if it wasn’t for him pushing him out of the way. Morgan, Pepper, Happy, and the team needed him.

The world needs Tony Stark.

Tony’s face crumples as tears spill down his cheeks. “Peter, I’m... I’m not leaving you. I can’t. I can’t. I won’t do it.”

“T-Tony,” Peter wheezes, finding it increasingly difficult to breathe. “Y-You have to. Th-They need you.”

“And I need you,” Tony admits, voice breaking at the end. “I had to live through five years without you a-and... I can’t do it again. I can’t. Please,” he barely manages to choke out through the tears.

Another round of explosions come from outside, much closer this time to the point Peter can feel the ground trembling underneath him as dust and pebbles shower down from the ceiling. Tony stretches over Peter, shielding him from the debris. It takes a few moments before it all stops, and Peter feels even weaker in that short span of time. Tony moves away and faces him again, his face falling when he looks down at him.

Peter distantly wonders if he looks worse than he feels right now.

Tony tightly closes his eyes as more tears fall down his cheeks. He sucks in a choked breath and shakes his head as he reaches a hand up to his ear, sniffing thickly. “D-Does anyone copy? We need help here.” He waits for a few seconds, receiving only static in return. “Does anyone copy?” He repeats, with more urgency, but is met with the same answer.

Peter tries to hold in the cough he feels coming on, but the urge is too strong. As he hacks and sputters, droplets of blood escape his mouth. He can feel it trickling down the side of his lips.

Tony’s eyes widen in horror at the sight. “I-It’s okay. J-Just try to breathe. You’re alright,” he says shakily, clearly trying to control his voice so it comes out more comforting than scared.

But Peter can’t breathe. He can feel the blood in his throat, blocking air from entering. “C’n’t,” he chokes out, panic flowing through him. So this is how he’s going to die—choking on his own blood.

It feels like forever before the coughing fit finally subsides, and it leaves Peter even weaker. He’s barely aware of Tony wiping his mouth, as well as the hand on the side of his face. Peter blinks sluggishly, finding that his eyes are getting pretty heavy, like they’re being weighed down by an invisible force. He looks up at Tony, finding him to be looking at him with a pained expression on his face, tears sliding down his cheeks.

He’s never really seen Tony cry before—well, except that one time they watched The Good Dinosaur with Morgan. It makes Peter feel guilty that he’s the cause of it this time.

“T’ny,” Peter slurs weakly. “M’ scared.”

Tony’s lower lip wobbles as he swallows, brushing back Peter’s curls from his forehead. “I know, it’s okay. You’re going to be alright, kiddo. I’m right here,” he says as he grabs a hold of Peter’s hand and gently squeezes. “I’m right here with you, Pete.”

Peter tries to lift his mouth into a reassuring smile, but he’s too weak even for that. He’s so tired. He’s never felt this tired before, not even all those sleepless nights when his insomnia was at its worst. Tony was always there for him during those particularly rough nights, and they would just end up watching TV together, eventually falling asleep on the couch, Peter snuggled up against him. Tony’s always been there for him, from the first time they met... to their final moments together.

“I love you, T’ny,” Peter tells him, trying to stop himself from slurring his words. “Tell... tell May... I love her. An’ Morgan, Pepper, H-Happy, N-Ned, an’ MJ.”

“I will,” Tony answers tearfully, gently squeezing his hand a little tighter.

Peter’s eyes are getting heavier by the second and he suddenly realizes that he doesn’t feel pain anymore. He doesn’t feel scared. He feels almost... at peace.

“I love you, Peter,” Tony tells him, barely feeling his mentor’s hand on his face. “You’re-You’re such an amazing, kind, sweet, brave kid. And... I’m so proud of you. I can speak for May too. We love you so much, Peter. So much.” He plants a kiss on Peter’s temple before he rests his own forehead against his. “I love you so much, Peter.”

“L’ve y-you...” Peter murmurs, feeling weird and floaty. Disconnected from himself.

He tries to stay awake. He tries to hang on a little longer. But he can’t.

The last thing he sees is Tony’s blurry face before his eyes close against his will.

And then... he knows no more.
