Let me just say that as a Service Dog Handler: It’s not just bringing your pet to a store they don’t belong in.

It’s not just “two minutes”, it’s not “not bothering anyone”, it’s not “the staff don’t care so it’s fine”

It’s making service dog handlers have to look over their shoulders and scan their environments excessively for untrained pets that are a hazard to their service dogs.

It’s making disabled people exert even more energy that they don’t have to ensure their SD’s safety

It’s triggering medical episodes, distracting the real working dog, causing ER visits

It’s having a medical episode and spending the whole time worrying about an untrained pet harming your SD while you’re unconscious

It’s the long lasting effects of your pets poor behaviour. Making people think that real service animals behave that way, making it harder for real teams to have public access, have to fight harder to have basic rights, and have to deal with confrontation on the daily just to exist in a space

It’s being followed by security because “the last ‘SD’ peed in the store/ bit someone/ was disruptive”

It’s ending the careers of highly trained service animals because your untrained pet attacked them, rendering them unable to ever work again, their disabled handlers unable to live freely again, and tens of thousands of dollars down the drain.

I don’t care if your pet doesn’t bark at real service dogs, I don’t care if you’ve never encountered a real team while out, I don’t care if no one’s told you to stop before. Your actions have real life implications, you are making things so much harder for disabled folks all for the fact that you can’t manage to leave your pet at home for an hour.

There are tons of pet friendly spaces, take your pet there! Do your training there! Have fun there!

But keep your untrained pets out of non-pet-friendly spaces. You are not above the law and your pet is not more important than the thousands of disabled people you are directly impacting.

Columbo and the Knight (1984)

put me in the universe where Columbo ran through the 1980s and had a crossover episode with Knight Rider. I think they deserved it, and I am not just saying that because they're my two favorite Old Shows. @telebeast wrote a little fanfic blurb about it and I HAD to visualize it into a comic (which is also the longest comic I have finished thus far at five pages...), so writing credit goes to them.
