there needs to be a conversation about how true, actual left-wing ideals can only get into mainstream news through political satire and comedy. jon stewart and john oliver, for example, can go further left than other news broadcasts and shed light on issues that are ignored by democrats because they are funny. they make just enough jokes to keep you from getting too uncomfortable while discussing some very heavy-handed topics like war, genocide, and systemic oppression.

I know now that I need to set boundaries and benchmarks with certain people in my life. I'm way past caring if this in any way makes me sound like a cynic (and I've been accused of that lately, and it's plenty true about some shit as it probably should be).
So some backstory- I don't need to get into my mommy issues cause I think I've written about it quite a bit anyway but I should catch up with the recent stuff. My biological mother has been really really nice lately. Like, really nice. She has actually been sort of a blessing(?) on the surface to me for the last 6ish months. She has been there emotionally, financially, she has even changed some of her extremely toxic behaviors for a time.
But I've seen the real her peaking out again in the past couple weeks. It would take too much to explain the details, but as the person she fucked up so badly I fucking know. Just tonight, she has been texting me some full-stop possessive bullshit. In short, my gf and I are going to her mother's house for the eclipse. My mother had invited me after we said yes to the other invite. The latter happened yesterday. Yeah. Now she's saying that I should go and she hopes I'll have fun, but all of a sudden, a little fall she had last week is causing her so much pain she says she actually can't celebrate at all, and doesn't even plan to go outside to see it.
Clear guilt-trip.
She used to think she owned my time, my body, my soul. She used to punish me for not being and doing exactly as she does. Now she thinks she can make me feel guilty and concerned over what was Absolutely Nothing hours after it happened many days ago.
Yeah. No. Too late. You almost kind of had me. But at least I don't have to feel like a prostitute, or just like I owe her grand gestures, for the help she has given me in recent months. Cause I didn't need to feel like a whole on top of brushing off years of emotional torture, and sexual trauma because her religion allowed her to trust dangerous people around me.

Double Trouble
Request: Yes or No
Couldn't think of a better title lmao. This is gonna be real shitty but the intro to series are either amazing or pure shit. Gonna give (Y/N)'s mom and fam a name cause I don't wanna keep writing (M/N) or (L/N). (Y/N) isn't related to any of the characters fyi. Spot the very obvious accidental reference
~
"Why California? Out of all the places in America, California was choice you went with? Not Washington, Oregon, or fuck, I don't know, North Dakota?" (Y/N) rested his head against the window, watching the houses pass by. His mother, Tanya, glanced at him with a small frown.
"Baby, aren't you tired of Alaska? Same old cold weather?" Tanya asked, staring forward at the empty road. (Y/N) scoffed, sitting up and looking at her with a raised brow.
"You can escape the cold. You can't escape the heat." (Y/N) pointed out, leaning back and picking up his phone with a frown. He looked at the texts from his friend, sighing softly.
Yaya
U already in cali??
(Y/N)
Ya

It sucks

"Baby, could you look at me?" Tanya asked, pulling into the school parking lot and parking the car. (Y/N) turned his head to look at her.
"I'm sorry I suddenly dragged us out of Alaska. I just felt like we could use a change. Alaska feels suffocating as an adult. I want you to have new experiences." Tanya explained softly. (Y/N) nodded, glancing at the students walking into school.
"Listen, if you get anxious or feel sick, text me, okay?" Tanya gave him a comforting smile, running a hand through his hair. (Y/N) nodded, opening the car door. He unbuckled his seatbelt and got out of the car.
"Have a good day, sweetie!"
"You too." (Y/N) closed the door, walking towards the school. He had lived in Seward his whole life. He was used to the cold, the sound of boats, the cold immediately hitting his face the moment he stepped outside. (Y/N) knew it wasn't about experiences. His mom just didn't want him to have the same boring life she did. (Y/N) looked at his phone, opening the group chat again. He looked through the texts, smiling at the pictures his friend sent him. (Y/N) looked at his email, sighing as he searched for his locker. He found it, opening it and glancing at the guy beside him.
"Uh, hey, I'm Ethan. You're new, right?" Ethan gave an awkward smile, clearing his throat. (Y/N) licked his lips, nodding. Ethan seemed like the typical nerdy loner.
"Yeah, I'm (Y/N)."
"Cool, cool. Where are you coming from?" Ethan tilted his head, closing his locker and leaning against it. (Y/N) didn't feel like making friends but Ethan could probably help him get familiar with everyone and everything.
"Alaska." (Y/N) replied, closing his locker and giving him a tight smile. Ethan's brows raised, letting out a small chuckle.
"Really? That's cool, I've never really left California. What's it like?"
"Cold." (Y/N) chuckled softly. Ethan laughed and nodded, licking his lips as he stuck his hands in his pockets. (Y/N) looked him over. He was small, skinny, seemed nervous and awkward. Probably a good guy.
"So, are you a junior?" Ethan asked. (Y/N) nodded, going into his phone gallery and pressing on the saved picture of his schedule. He showed him the screen, watching him lean in and smile.
"We have 1st, 3rd, and 6th together." Ethan said, motioning down the hall. "Come on, I'll show you around."
"Thanks." (Y/N) gave him a small smile, following him. His gaze flickered from student to student. Some glanced at him, knowing he was new. (Y/N) didn't like attention. He didn't like the spotlight. He hated when people stared or payed too much attention to him. He hated the way a pit formed in his stomach and he became nauseous when he was called on and people stared at him in class. (Y/N) entered the class, taking a seat beside Ethan and sighing softly.
"Thanks, by the way. I didn't expect to make a friend until like my second week here."
"No problem. I know it can feel shitty to be the new kid." (Y/N) gave Ethan a small smile, looking forward.
(Y/N) set down his lunch tray, sitting down across from Ethan. He glanced around the courtyard, picking up a french fry. Ethan finished drinking his water, humming softly.
"By the way, whatever you do, don't mess with Maddy Perez." Ethan said, wiping his mouth with his sleeve. (Y/N) furrowed his brows.
"Right, you don't know them." Ethan chuckled, turning his head. He looked around, searching for the girls.
"There, the girl with black hair besides the blonde and the girl in a jeresy." Ethan motioned towards them. Maddy seemed like your typical popular. Makeup done perfectly, perfect body, her hair was done perfectly.
"She's a cheerleader and probably the most popular girl in school. She's been with Nate Jacobs for a while. Nate is a football player and his dad has a lot of power. He's.. Terrifying. The girls beside her are her best friends. Cassie and Barbara." Ethan picked up his burger. "There's Kat too and Kat is.."
"Your crush?" (Y/N) cocked a brow, chuckling. Ethan's tone had changed the moment this 'Kat' girl had been mentioned. His eyes had softened and a smile had appeared on his face.
"U-Uhm, n-no. She's a friend, like, just a friend." Ethan gave a nervous fake smile. (Y/N) hummed, shaking his head as he chuckled softly. He looked down at his tray, poking at the wrapped burger.
"Anyways, Cassie's nudes and some videos of her got leaked by her exes. It was real shitty." Ethan told him, finishing his burger. "There's Rue and Jules. Rue overdosed over the summer and Jules is new here."
"What?" (Y/N) furrowed his brows, staring at Ethan. The biggest thing that ever happened at his school was two teachers fighting. Drugs were an issue everywhere. He just didn't expect a teenger to OD and everyone to know. Ethan looked back at him.
"Do you wanna.. Hang out?"
"I have to unpack." (Y/N) replied, picking up his phone and scrolling through his instagram.
"Oh, shit, that's the new kid." Barbara pointed out, pulling her hair back into a ponytail. Cassie and Maddy turned to look.
"Oh.. Where's he from?" Cassie asked as she twirled a strand of her blonde hair around her finger. She wanted to forget all about McKay after their argument and breakup. The new boy seemed like a good distraction.
"He seems sweet." Cassie said with a small smile. Maddy scoffed, rolling her eyes as she looked at her.
"That's what you say about every guy, Cassie." Maddy opened her backpack, taking out her makeup bag. She took out some gloss, turning when she spotted Nate. She scowled when Nate very obviously flirted with some girl. Maddy took in a deep breath, turning toward her friends.
"Is there a party tonight? I need to fuck with Nate. He's such a dick." Maddy tapped her nails against her phone case. Cassie gave her a comforting smile, shaking her head.
"You can come over and we'll have a photo shoot. You can post it and make him regret everything." Cassie grinned as Maddy's eyes lit up, nodding.
"This is why I love you, Cass." The two giggled as Maddy wrapped her arms around her.
"But, back to that new guy.. If he hangs with Ethan, he's probably a loser." Barbara said, watching the two boys. Cassie gasped softly, shooting her a look.
"BB! Ethan's actually a really sweet guy. We did a project together last year." Cassie said. Maddy nodded, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear.
"Yeah, BB, don't be a bitch. You do got a point though. He gives major school shooter vibes." Maddy said, leaning forward to look around Cassie. She watched as the two stood and threw away their trash.
"Hey, they're staring at you." Ethan said, nudging (Y/N). (Y/N) turned towards the girls, catching their eyes before he shrugged and turned away.
"Let's go to History."

The Other Woman
summary: spencer and meave have a toxic relationship after saving diane and the new agent doesn’t help
pairing: meave x spencer, spencer x BAU!reader
warnings: angst (lowkey), cursing, broken relationship, fluff
words: 4k+
~~~~~~~~~~
Ever since the team and I stopped Diane from killing Maeve, things were different. When I dreamed about meeting Maeve, I thought things would be perfect, we would be a match made in heaven. But after finding out important things she felt to leave out (like she was engaged), the spark was seeming to fade and just genuinely getting to know her personality. Of course our new agent wasn't any help either.
y/n y/l/n
She was different from any other girl I had met. She was smart and a great listener, she was determined to keep learning. She didn't try to outsmart me like Maeve had begun to do. Her biggest talent and asset to the team was her interrogation skills.
"Brian, I know how you are feeling," y/n said to the unsub. "You are upset your dad left you and upset that he left you with your mother."
"She was never a mother," Brian screamed. "That dirty whore didn't know her left from her right."
"The girls?" y/n asked. "Did they know their right from their left?"
"I wouldn't know, I didn't do anything to them," Brian said.
"Well I do, I looked into their background, all single mothers, husband left. They weren't dirty Brian, they were doin-"
"YES THEY WERE. They are all whores. I tried to help them, to help their children. But they were just like she was, a whore."
Since the first day she arrived, I've been enthralled by her presence. Maeve asked to move in around a month ago, I said no. She was so upset it was almost pitiful. It had been an argument that continued for weeks and was heated tonight at our at home dinner date. "Why, Spencer, why can't I move in with you?" She yelled at me.
"Because I barely know you," I yelled back, quickly calming down. "We may have been talking on the phone, but we have known each other in person for five months. I just, Meave, I'm going through a rough time at work. It wouldn't be good for you to move in right now." I made a large breath as Maeve roughly stood up from the table.
"Is there someone else?" Maeve asked. "That new agent, (wrong name), or whatever-"
"y/n"
"Like I said, whatever. Are you talking to her, is there something going on?"
"Maeve, there is nothing going on between y/n and I," I explained. "She is a new agent, she is young, she is like I was when I joined the BAU. I am just trying to help her get settled."
"Why can't JJ do that? She was young when she joined."
"Because JJ was the communications liaison then, she didn't become a profiler until two years ago."
"Whatever," Maeve said, grabbing her purse. "I'm leaving, I need to think."
Thank God
"Ok, we need to talk about this," I said. Maeve muttered something before slamming the door.
Moments like this made me question the relationship I created with Maeve. Maybe it's because I never really knew her. I knew her job and that she was smart, but I didn't know how clingy she was or bitchy and competitive. I don't blame Diane for being so upset. Why was she so upset about y/n, I mean y/n is gorgeous and smart. But she is so young, she's only 24. Tomorrow was going to be a good day, tomorrow I was finally going to make some decisions about Maeve.
Waking up the next morning felt like a chore. The sound of my phone going off was much worse than my alarm clock.
"Reid."
"Spencie, it's y/n," the angelic voice I was longing to hear was music to my ears at 3 in the morning. "We have a case, JJ called me and told me to call you. Which thinking about it is a little strange- wait that's not the point of this call. I need you to pick me up."
"Yeah I can come get you," I said rushing around. "I'll be there in twenty minutes."
"Thanks Spencie, I owe you big time."
Running around my room, I tried to pick my best outfit. y/n loved when I dressed in blue or purple, so I decided I would dress in blue this fine morning. My light blue button down and my tight navy pants, made me look a sexy professional as I would say, so would Derek (and hopefully y/n). I hated driving, but I would never tell y/n that, she is too cute when singing in the car for me to say no to her.
On my way to her apartment (which was very small and in a terrible area), I began to think about what y/n said on the call. JJ called me and told me to call you. Why wouldn't JJ just call me. I mean I do tell JJ about my problems with Maeve and my schoolboy crush on y/n, but she was so upset when I first said it.
"Maeve is literally your dream girl Spence, why are you trying to stop that? And for y/n, now I know she is smart and wow, she is hot, but Spence, she is 24. She still has a lot of growing up to do. Also, I didn't work my ass off to save Maeve for you to end things with her."
JJ was right, y/n was too young and too naive to know what she wanted. Hell, I didn't even know what I wanted. I fell for a girl over the phone and then realized she's not at all what I thought. I should have known.
Arriving at y/n's apartment building I texted her a quick 'here' before noticing her car tire had been slashed. The passenger door opened and y/n sat down handing me a large coffee in her typical reusable to-go cups. "y/n you didn't have to bring me coffee," I said.
"Spence, it's three in the morning and you are driving," you said with a straight face. "I brought you the coffee so you wouldn't fall asleep at the wheel and we would die." I laughed before taking a big swig of the drink and heading to the office.
"I saw your tire had been slashed, what happened?"
"I don't know, JJ called me so I went out to get my go-bag from the car because I left my good mug in it and I saw the tire was slashed. I have no idea how it happened or why, it's really annoying though, I just got new tires." The situation with y/n's tire was strange, I mean she lives in a complex where nearly twenty cars are out front if they aren't in the back lot. Why only her car? Maybe it was nothing special, just a coincidence.
y/n heard my phone ring and looked at the screen, "It's Maeve," showing me the screen. "Why is your girlfriend calling you at 3:30 in the morning?"
"I have no clue y/n, leave it to ring out. I'll get to her later."
This has happened before. When I drop y/n off from a case that ran late or after a night with the team. I get calls and texts from Maeve enraged. Does she honestly not understand we work together. We live less than six minutes from each other, so when we ride together it's not like either of us are going out of our way.
After spending most of the car ride singing to Taylor Swift, we arrived at Quantico and rushed to the elevators. We weren't late, but y/n liked to be early so she didn't look sweaty for the team.
"Why do you hate looking sweaty?" I asked her.
"Well, when our Unit Chief is a TOTAL dilf, I'd like to at least look nice," she said smiling. I frowned. "Kidding Spence, not totally, but I like to look nice because I am still proving my spot on this team and good hygiene is very respectable."
Of course she has a crush on Hotch, not that she has daddy issues or anything. But they are so close and the validation he gives her is a bit too much to be work appropriate. I'm honestly just so glad its not Derek she has a crush on.
"That makes sense, I'm going to call Maeve to she what she needed," I said stepping towards the conference room. "She's been calling me non stop." y/n nodded as she rubbed paper towels on her armpits.
Right as I was about to dial Maeve, her name flashed across my screen, "Hello."
"Spencer, what the hell," she screamed. "Why were you at y/n's at three in the morning."
"Maeve, tell me where I am right now," I said.
"You are at work Spencer," She answered. "But that is besides the point. Why did YOU pick her up?"
"BECAUSE WE WERE GOING TO WORK AND SHE LIVES SIX MINUTES FROM ME," I yelled, tired of her assumptions and bitchy, clingy behavior. "JJ called y/n and told her to tell me we had a case and her car's tire was slashed so she asked for a ride. There is no harm in that."
Maeve let out a large breath, "I don't want you around her anymore."
"What, I can't do that, we work together," I laughed.
"Quit," she said shortly. "Or tell Hotch that she is terrible to work with and isn't qualified for the team."
"Maeve, you are angry. I'm not quitting and y/n is very qualified at her job, Hotch wouldn't believe me."
"Then why do you help her if she's qualified?"
"I told you that last night, this conversation is over." I hung up the phone hearing her protests. I looked over and saw the team looking at me, they obviously had heard the interaction. y/n looked confused. Why was she being brought into this?
The team walked into the conference room, "Garcia, you can begin," Hotch said. Turning to me he said, "We will talk about this before we leave." I nodded. I didn't listen to Garcia presenting the case, but I looked at y/n. She looked like she had been crying, I don't know why, hopefully it wasn't me. After the presentation, Hotch gave us thirty minutes to gather ourselves before we needed to be on the jet.
He pulled me into his office, "What was that in the conference room?"
"Maeve thinks I'm cheating on her with y/n," I said. "It's not a big deal."
Hotch looked at me sternly, "Well it becomes a big deal when our newest agent tells me she should transfer because she doesn't like that she's interfering with your relationship. Now y/n cannot be transferred, she is an asset to this team and the team loves her. You need to sort your shit out with Maeve." I nodded and walked out the door over to y/n's desk where she was getting her small things together.
As soon as she saw me walking over, she began to walk away, "y/n wait."
"I'm going to see Penelope," She said, not looking at me. Even without looking directly at me, the tear stains were evident.
I looked over at JJ who had seen the whole interaction, "JJ what do I do?"
"Well Spencer, you need to either break up with Maeve or get over your crush on y/n," She said sarcastically. "In my opinion, you should break up with Maeve anyway. After hearing that phone call, I think she sounded toxic and manipulative. Give y/n some space, she just got a lot thrown at her. She thinks she's a homewrecker."
I sighed, "I know I need to end things with Maeve, but I feel so horrible."
"You feel horrible even though she treats you like that?" JJ asked, shocked.
"I just don't want her to think I led her on or I actually was cheating on her with y/n."
"You may not be cheating on her with y/n, but Spence," I looked up at her. "You like y/n, you can't deny that. y/n still is the other woman, whether its intimate or not."
JJ was right, I was about to walk up to Penelope's office when Derek reminded us we had to leave. Looking ahead, I saw y/n talking with Hotch. She looked upset and Hotch looked concerned, but when he looked over at me, he was pissed.
As we made it to the entrance of the jet, I told JJ and Derek I would meet them on the jet, wanting to talk to Hotch, "Hey, what did y/n say to you?"
"She told me this was her last case," Hotch said. "She gave Strauss resignation forms and is going to be an elementary art teacher. Now she isn't even transferring. Fix this now or you will be suspended from cases and you will be staying back and doing paperwork until I see fit. You and your relationship problems should not have led to y/n leaving the team."
To say I was shocked was an understatement. y/n was leaving the team. She was leaving because of me. Because I was so enchanted by her smile and the slight gleam in her eye.
Worst of all, she isn't even staying in the FBI. She is going to do the job she said she always wanted to do after the FBI. y/n always told me she wanted to stay in the FBI and then when it got to be too much, she wanted to teach art.
You may say I'm a terrible person for basically emotionally cheating on Maeve, but Maeve and I would never work in the long run. She may have been my back then, but she will never be my forever.
Walking onto the jet, I felt the hostile stares of my teammates. y/n sat at the corner of the jet, alone, reading her favorite book, Little Women. While the book is very boring in my opinion, I understand the appeal to y/n. A strong female lead who doesn't believe in the common standards in her time period. Much like Jo March, y/n was strong willed. She always put up a challenge to the ideas she opposed.
I unfortunately, was Theodore Lawrence in this situation. In love with Jo March, but I needed to show it to her. The only and strongest difference was that I am in a relationship.
I need to end it with Maeve.
That however, will be easier said than done. Maeve is much like Amy March: annoying, greedy, easily angered, jealous, and most of all the one that is settled for.
But no, I, Spencer Reid, will not settle for Amy, I am going to get Jo.
I was walking over to y/n when I was stopped by Rossi, "Don't make it any worse than it already is, kid." Appalled, I looked at him and then the team. Their faces all said the same thing only Rossi was able to make into words. I decided to sit not near them and not near y/n. I sat by myself and created a plan to keep y/n at the BAU.
The plan went as so:
1. Convince y/n to stay and explain relationship problems with Maeve
2. Break up with Maeve
3. Tell y/n what truly happened with Maeve (phone calls, kidnapping, and after)
4. Tell y/n feelings (and pray she feels the same)
This plan was definitely going to be easier said than done. The hardest part being breaking up with Maeve.
The case wasn't eventful and easy to figure out. The unsub was killing people who looked like his wife that left him at the altar. Not once did Hotch put me with y/n, understandably. Instead, y/n spent her time with JJ and Hotch.
I decided to not talk to anyone because I needed to devise my plan. I needed to break up with Maeve, but make sure I kept y/n out of it. That was going to be the challenge, Maeve was going to blame the break up on y/n. I decided to text Maeve a quick 'jet is landing. I'm coming over. We have things to discuss.'
I turned off my phone, knowing Maeve would start blowing it up. The jet landed and I went to begin step one, but Derek stopped me from going towards her further, "Pretty Boy, I know you want things to get right with Pretty Girl, but give her space. Just a little and sort things out with Maeve. After hearing what JJ and y/n have said about her, you should end things.
I nodded and sprinted to my car, seeing as y/n got a ride with Penelope. The ride over to Maeve's house was tense, even though I was alone. I couldn't stop thinking of the outcomes that could occur tonight.
Making it to Maeve's apartment, I kept reciting all the things I could say to her.
"I don't feel a spark anymore." Decent.
"You are a controlling bitch." Too harsh.
"I never really knew you." Getting there.
"I think we need to try new things." Fuck. I had made it to the door and I didn't know what to say without the possibility of hurting her. Breaking up with her is the only thing I can do to save my friendship with y/n. Its also the only thing I can do to save myself from this toxic mess of a relationship.
I knocked on the door and it was immediately opened by a very angry Maeve, "Spencer, finally you are here. You were taking so long I thought something may have happened, were you with y/n?"
"No Maeve, I wasn't with y/n," I sighed. "In fact we aren't even talking."
"Well that's perfect," Maeve said. "Why do you look upset about that?"
I looked at her surprised she didn't understand, "Because Maeve, she heard our fucking fight yesterday morning over the phone. She isn't talking to me because she thinks she ruined our relationship-"
"She did-"
"NO SHE DIDN'T MEAVE!" I screamed. "y/n is leaving the team because you are jealous of anyone in my life. First it was JJ, so I pushed JJ away. Then Derek, so I pushed Derek away. You have ruined all of my friendships with my coworkers and are now making work a living hell. y/n didn't ruin our relationship because it was already fucking ruined Maeve. How did you not see it?”
"What? Spence?" Maeve went to touch my arm.
I stepped away, "No Maeve, this is over. We are over. After we stopped Diane, I thought we would be perfect. But we aren't, we aren't good for each other at all. Whenever I accomplish anything at all, big or small, you fucking disregard it and talk about something you did. I am helping y/n, I like y/n. y/n is nice and she listens to my facts and she doesn't judge me for having feelings."
"Spencer, do you think I do that?" Maeve asked with a fake sweet act.
"Think? No Maeve, you do all of those things. Yesterday you told me to quit my job or tell Hotch y/n wasn't qualified. You should be supporting me. This relationship is not good for me. I am leaving, none of your stuff is at my place so you don't need to come over ever again." I quickly left the apartment, ignoring Maeve's pleas for forgiveness.
Sitting in my car, I quickly drove off to y/n's house. I needed to see her, to explain to her what had been happening.
YOUR POV
When I met Spencer, he was my mentor. Very quickly after that however, he became my best friend on the team. Since we lived so close together, it was common for us to carpool to and from work and work events.
I quickly learned about Maeve once I began to get closer with Spencer. Spencer's manipulative, psycho bitch of a girlfriend that was out to ruin my life. I had never done anything to try and involve myself in their relationship, but when they have problems it's always my fault.
After hearing Maeve and Spencer's phone call, it was a no brainer for me to leave the team. However, I knew that wasn't enough for me to get rid of the taunts I had been receiving from Maeve. And by taunts I mean she slashed my tire. I was offered a job at one of DC's most prestigious private schools to teach art and after the phone call, I decided to take it.
Now, I wasn't upset that Spencer didn't like me back. I was upset that Maeve was making him decide between us when nothing had ever happened. I thought Spencer was cute, definitely, and there were times when we were a little too touchy or flirtatious. But, I saw it as Penelope and Derek and I'm sure he did too.
I sat in Penelope's car trying to focus on the road whilst she was screaming at me, "WHY ARE YOU LEAVING? You can't leave y/n. You just got here and we like you here. Maeve and Spencer have had problems for a few months, it's not because of you. JJ and Maeve also got in a fight because he thought Spencer was too handsy with her and I've barely ever seen them touch.”
"Pen, I'm leaving because I have a great job opportunity," I tried to reason. "I was eventually going to take it, but I don't want to hurt Spencer's relationship." Penelope sighed, giving up her attempt to have me stay. We got our Wendy's before Penelope went to drop me off.
As Penelope drove up to my apartment, I noticed a figure standing in front of my house. It looked familiar.
Spencer
"Pen, so you think I can stay over tonight?" I asked.
"No, go talk to pretty boy, have him explain," Penelope responded.
I walked up to my apartment, Spencer looked at me. His face lighting up under my front porch light. He had flowers in his hands. Daisies. "Spencer, what are you doing here?"
SPENCER'S POV
"Spencer, what are you doing here?"
"If you'd let me in I think you need to know what has been happening," I said handing her the flowers.
"Okay, come in," She said grabbing the flowers and unlocking the door. "That you for the flowers."
"Daisies are your favorite," I said quietly. "You never told me, but you always said you liked the name Daisy for your daughter and I just assumed."
"You guessed correctly Spencer," y/n said putting the daisies in a jar.
I sat on her couch, the one I had sat on to watch countless episodes of Dr. Who when I needed to get away from Maeve.
"Can I explain?" I asked as she walked over with a coffee.
"Sure Spencer, but I don't think any explanation will make me stay," she answered.
I sighed, "Well you know the whole Maeve back story right?" she nodded. "Well after we saved her things were great. I was happy, so happy and so in love. But around the time I started to die down from the holy shit you just almost died phase, I began to notice all the flaws and toxic traits in her and our relationship."
y/n nodded, "And you couldn't see any of that before because you only ever talked over the phone?"
"Correct. Maeve, she is very smart. So smart that she often would say things to undermine the fact I went into the FBI and as she would say instead of something useful. At first I thought it was a harmless joke, but when she began to say things like that in front of the team, it crossed a line. When I confronted her, she accused me of lying, saying she never said anything like that. She has always been decently jealous, she was jealous of JJ and even jealous of Alex Blake. Blake's spot is the one you filled, she was like a mom to me. Now, she is jealous of you.”
y/n looked motionless, "Why is she jealous of me Spencer?"
I looked over at her nervously, "y/n we are very close right?"
"Yes, Spencer, you're like my best friend."
I nodded, "yes and Maeve didn't like that. She was very jealous of you because at one team dinner before you joined, Garcia showed us a picture of you from Instagram. When everyone saw the picture, everyone was like wow she is so pretty and you know, you are very gorgeous and I'm a bad liar so I agreed. Maeve and I got into a huge fight because of that. Ever since, she is like really jealous and then we sorta became a mentor, mentee relationship because you are so young and I was so young when I joined.”
y/n looked surprised. Did she not know the team thought that about her. However, y/n nodded, telling me to continue.
"Then I realized how close we lived and we started to carpool and hang out. This was when the aggressive texts and phone calls began. The team knew I needed to break up with her, but I didn't want to make it look like we were seeing each other, you would never like someone like me.”
y/n laughed, "She was jealous because we carpooled? Did you know she was the one that slashed my tire that morning, I got a clip of it on my Ring doorbell."
"Seriously? Sounds about right. Anyway, I broke up with her. She isn't what I want y/n. I want to be with you. And I know you might not like me and-"
y/n cut me off with a laugh, "Spencer are you serious?" I looked at her confused. "I have had a crush on you since I first met the team. I was heartbroken when I found out you had a girlfriend."
"Actually?"
"Spence, why would I lie to you?"
"Will you come back to the BAU?"
"I'll talk to Strauss, but I think if we want to do anything we should wait. I don't want people to actually think we were having an affair."
I laughed, "Definitely not. You were the other woman though. Kept me up all night thinking, dreaming. You infatuate me y/n y/l/n."
"Well I am very glad we got that done with," y/n said. "Watching you with Maeve was like watching the end of Derrick and Addison's relationship on Grey's Anatomy."
"What?"
"Never mind Spence, we will have to save this topic for another day."
I can, I can't : Part 1 of 3
Pairing: Jaemin x female reader
Gener: best friends to lovers au, smut, fluff
Warning: mentions of sex, masturbation (Female)
Summary: Jaemin and Y/N are part of a group of best friends. One day, things change.....
They called themselves the dropouts. Brought up in good Catholic families, active within the Church community as kids, Catholic school education... the works. They then grew up and stopped going.
It wasn't some group thing were everyone agreed to stop going altogether at the same time. It was more like, one by one, they stopped going.
Jeno was the first to stop, at 15, after his parents got divorced. He became angry and withdrawn. By 16 he was mixing with the wrong crowd - think underaged drinking, partying, It was only after a close brush with the law that he - literally and figuratively - sobered up and decided to focus on healthier pursuits like education and sports. Thankfully too, the old Jeno that everyone knew and love came back.
Then were was Renjun. Renjun was always the one who wasn't really into religion anyway. He was more apt to believing in aliens and ghosts. His mother kept him going for as long as she could. By 18 he was out.
Haechan, as he got older, became a sporadic goer. After moving out on his own to live with the guys and Y/N in an apartment closer to campus, he stopped too.
Y/N? The older she grew, the more she learnt about the importance of gender equality. The more she embraced feminism, the more she found some church teachings hard to swallow.
All was left, of course, was Jaemin. Now Jaemin, he was still a "good boy", faithfully going to Church every Sunday. It wasn't that he was extremely religious. It was more that he had gone to Church every single week all his life. To not go one week felt odd and different.
The good thing was, nobody made fun of him or tried to stop him from going. Jeno even woke him up on Sunday mornings before he went for his 10km runs just so Jaemin would get to mass on time. (Mass is what Catholics call a church service.)
Y/N enjoyed hanging out with her friends. She was like one of the boys. It had always been like that since they were young. Everyone who knew Y/N knew she was not to be messed with. Not only was she capable of kicking anyone's balls, she also had four bros who would come after their ass too. In fact, guys who were interested in dating her would often try to get in good standing with the four guys so life would be easier for them. So it was hardly surprising that Y/N had never had her heart broken.
The problem was, Y/N was the one breaking hearts. Commitment wasn't her strongest suit, and more often than not she'd break off with whoever she was seeing with very trivial reasons, First she was dating Xiaojun. Then 7 months later she broke it off with him because apparently he "sucked at making out". The truth was, Xiaojun was good enough in bed but Y/N wanted to date the more exciting Yang Yang after meeting him at a frat party her gal friends dragged her to and making out with him. So Yang Yang it was. For a while she was happy. But then 10 months passed and Yang Yang was history. Now it seemed, was some guy called Lucas.
"Now, before you guys misunderstand, Lucas is not my boyfriend." Y/N declared over a pizza with Jaemin one Saturday night. "He's just... a friend..."
Jaemin raised his eyebrow. "You mean a friend with benefits? Cos based on what we have to hear every single Friday night, none of us think you guys are friends. Speaking of which.... Jeno wants me to talk to you."
"Let me guess, you lost rock paper scissors. Again. And that's why you're the one speaking to me."
"Well, we have house rules to follow..." Jaemin started, looking somewhat uncomfortable.
"Jeno and his stupid house rules." Y/N sighed. "What now? I can't bring Lucas home?"
"It's getting kind of weird for all of us...."
"You guys bring girls home all the time!" Y/N protested.
"I don't." Jaemin said. It was true.
"Jeno does. Haechan does. Even Renjun! Remember that weird Yoga chick he was seeing?"
"But they're not loud. Lucas sounds like he has a loudhailer in his throat and it's weird hearing him......we end up having to use headphones."
"I've tried asking him to tone it down. But he gets too excited when I blow him..." Y/N grinned as Jaemin covered his ears with his hands, not wanting to hear the details.
"Look, Jeno says he appreciates that YOU have gotten less loud since that time you were dating Yang Yang. But Lucas he's just.... too expressive. Can't you do it at his house or something? It's not the moaning as much as the dirty talk, you know?" Jaemin's voice was getting tinier and tinier.
"If Jeno has a problem, why can't he tell me himself?" I know it's not Haechan or Renjun who are complaining. Haechan's always gaming with his stupid headphones on and Renjun's always listening to music on his noise cancelling ones."
Jaemin sighed. "Don't put me in a tough spot, Y/N..."
He looked at her with puppy dog eyes.
"Fine. I'll speak to Lucas. But I'm only doing it cos of you, cos you good Catholic boy and virgin and all."
Jaemin rolled his eyes. "For the last time, Y/N, I'm not a virgin!"
Lucas took the news surprisingly well and he was happy to have her hang at his apartment instead. Which turned out to be a better thing, since his apartment was bigger and his housemates were never around. Y/N wondered why she insisted on making out at her apartment to begin with.
"I'm surprised Jeno was the one with the problem.." Lucas said after they had made out and she was snuggling in his arms.
"He has all these rules. The worst part is he makes Jaemin speak to me instead of telling me directly."
"It makes sense. You and Jaemin are close."
"I'm close to all four of them."
"No no no." Lucas said, "Each of them has a different thing with you."
"Explain, Mr Wong." she said, looking up at him.
"I think Jeno knows both of you have strong characters so he has Jaemin speak to you instead when there's an issue so you guys won't argue. He prefers to keep things light, so the most you're gonna get is Jeno making fun of you for having a thing for foriegn men."
"What about Haechan?"
"Haechan's your gaming bestie. You talk about gaming, and game together. But he'd kick the ass of anyone who gives you trouble."
"I think I'm least close to Renjun."
"I don't think it's that. It's more Renjun is kind of in his own world. He's like that with everyone. But he feels close to you guys."
Y/N was impressed.
"What about Jaemin?"
"Jaemin's like your total opposite. But you guys get each other. I like him. He's a good guy."
"Yeah he's a virgin." Y/N joked.
"He's a good looking guy! Heck, if I was a chick I'd go after him man!" Lucas said, his eyes expressive as always.
"Well, he's a good guy. I've never seen him bring a girl home."
"Come on man, when it comes to hormones, even good guys turn bad."
Lucas was driving her home when she got a call from Jaemin.
"Wassup?"
"Are you alone?" Jaemin asked. He sounded strange. "I need help."
"Are you ok?" Y/N asked. "I'm with Lucas. Where are you?"
"Oh. I'll call someone else..."
"Don't be an idiot, Jaemin. Where are you?"
"Hospital." he said. "Can you come? Just don't tell anyone anything. Not even Lucas."
She found him in a bad state at the hospital. Sitting in a daze, blood stains on his crumpled shirt. Y/N had never seen Jaemin look so small.
"Hey" she half whispered. He looked up.
"I can go now. I got an x-ray done. My nose is not broken. And it's finally stopped bleeding." he said. "I already collected my medicines. Mostly painkillers."
"What happened?" she asked.
"I don't want to talk about it." he said.
"Let's get home and get you out of these bloody clothes. And then you can tell me after you've had a good night's sleep."
"Can i sleep in your room tonight?" he asked. It was an unsual request. "I'm feeling quite shaken."
"Yeah. Sure. Let's do that."
It was 2am and he still couldn't sleep. She could feel him toss and turn next to her.
"Jae."
"Sorry."
"No, I can't sleep either."
He sat up.
"I need to get my ID card back. Can you follow me tomorrow?"
"Your ID card?"
"I was fooling around with a first year chick in her house. Her parents came back and caught us. Her dad took my ID away, said he was going to lodge a police report against me for tresspassing his house and taking advantage of his daughter. Well, that's after he beat me up."
Y/N sat up. This was interesting, she thought.
"She's 18?" she asked.
"Yeah."
"18 is legal you dumbass." she slapped her forehead.
"I thought it was 21.."
Y/N groaned. "I can't believe you're so stupid."
"But the trespassing thing?"
"They don't have a case Jae. I'm sure you can prove you were invited there. Even if she lies and said she didn't invite you. They can't prove it beyond a reasonable doubt."
"I'm so glad you're studying law."
"And Jaemin?"
"What?"
"It's illegal for him to detain your ID. YOU can report him."
"Oh. I didn't know that."
"Can you go sleep now that you know you're not actually in trouble?"
"Yes. Thanks Y/N." he said, turning to face the opposite side.
But Y/N couldn't sleep. Her mind was running a million miles a minute. Jaemin made out with someone. What was he like when making out? Was he gentle? Was he sweet like he always was to everyone? Was he a dom or sub? What did he do with the girl? Did he have fun?
Her own thoughts made her sick. Feeling a stir in her stomach made her sick. This was her best friend she was thinking of. She had to stop. Maybe she needed a shower.
Taking a towel with her to the bathroom, she shut the door, stripping quickly and getting under the hot jets of water. Damn it, Y/N, she scolded herself. Not Na Jaemin. What happened to your thing for Chinese guys?
She soaped herself trying to escape the mental picture of Jaemin, between the girl's thighs, lapping on her clit mercilessly, his eyes twinkling like they would whenever Jeno or Haechan said something witty. Suddenly, she was thinking of him between her legs, lapping at her core.
She brought her fingers to her clit, rubbing them from side to side. She leaned against the bathroom wall, moving more aggressively. She was wet. Biting her lip she pushed two fingers into her pussy, thrusting them in and out, the sound of the shower masking the wet noises as her fingers moved.
The muscles in her stomach were tightening. She could no longer hold back, thinking of Jaemin thrusting into her, looking at her with an intense gaze. She wanted him bad.
Slowly she came undone, as she moaned into her hands while cumming.
Suddenly, someone was knocking aggressively on the bathroom door. Y/N froze.
"I need to pee!" Haechan shrieked. "Hurry! I need to go back to my game!"
"Give me 2 minutes I'll be done." Y/N said, drying herself with her towel and getting dressed, mind still dazed from thinking about Jaemin. She knew their friendship was never going to be the same ever again.
She was just wondering how easy or hard it was going to be, to get Jaemin to join her on the other side.
DinCobb Week Day 5: Sharing Cultures (SFW)
for @dincobbweek with a wedding!!
@astrangebird drew some fantastic art and i decided to write a piece about it. that’s that. that’s all of it.
AO3 Link
Wait For Me Here
“We should get married,” Din idly said one day when they were in bed, side by side to wait out the worst of the day’s heat.”
“Oh yeah?” Cobb asks. He’s on his stomach, pillowed on his arms. Din knows this without even having to look because he knows Cobb likes sleeping on his front, usually one leg tucked up a bit, sometimes one arm stretched out for Din as if he’s reaching for him in sleep.
“Think about it. We live together.”
“Mm.”
“We cook together.”
“Mmhm.”
“We fight together.”
“Mm.”
“And we have a child together.”
Cobb snorts. “Sharing custody of your child with a Jedi might be putting it a bit generous.”
“There are also the school kids.”
“’cause half the time I have to tell them not to get into shit they shouldn’t.”
“Still.”
“Still,” Cobb says and breathes in. Then he opens his eyes and Din turns on his side to face him. “Marriage, huh?”
“Mmhm. Unless if . . .”
“Unless?”
“I don’t know what marriage customs are like on Tatooine, and the ones I’ve been invited to were Tusken in nature.”
“Well, shoot, partner, I reckon we go just as hard with our wedding flair as them Tuskens do.”
“Is that so?”
Cobb nods tiredly against his arms and closes his eyes. “Two-day affair most of the time. Eat and drink late into the night, sleep a few hours, and then get up in the morning for the breakfast feast. Everyone comes out with everything. Real big community thing as well.”
“I, I might like to see that.”
“What about you Mandalorians though?” Cobb then shifts suddenly, rising up long enough to lie himself across Din’s chest and hold him close with a leg in between Din’s. “I know you’ve . . . I know it’s not easy for you.”
Din sighs. The fallout from the survivors of his clan is still fresh. At least they didn’t strip him of his armour, but he doesn’t think they see him as Mandalorian anymore. He saw to their relocation on Tatooine with Boba Fett’s help, and finally they can live without the fear of being seen or being caught. But they will not accept Din as one of their own, not anymore, not after he gave up the Darksaber, allowed his face to be seen, and nearly broke every Creed he had taken on as a young adult.
“Well, the weddings were mostly, they were short,” Din admits. “Usually it requires an exchange, especially if one member were coming from a different clan.”
“An exchange of what?”
“Equipment. Weapons or armour. I once saw someone approach the Armourer to ask her how to show them to make a knife for their betrothed. It’s meant to be personal to a degree. Either you got this weapon in battle or you’re offering up a piece of yourself, your beskar’gam.”
Cobb hums. “Sounds very official.”
“Marriage is a pact. You raise warriors. You grow the clan. You protect the clan.”
“Mm. I can work with that.”
Din smiles. “You’re a very agreeable partner.”
“I try.”
…
What starts out as a simple comment quickly turns into nearly a town wide event. Neither Din nor Cobb know how the secret got out. They were thinking, originally, a small affair with their closest associates. Boba is even willing to host at his palace, and Din is fine with that. But then word gets out, as it always does, that the Marshal and the Mandalorian are planning to get married, and now here they are, eating breakfast at Werlo’s cantina, getting approached by one of the mothers in town who’s there after dropping her kids off at the school, no doubt, casually talking like Din and Cobb know what’s going on.
“Marshal! Have you decided on a date yet?”
Cobb blinks and looks to Din before looking at the woman. “Excuse me?”
“For the wedding! Gaia said you and the Mandalorian were planning to marry.”
Din chokes on his caf.
“Um, well.” Cobb reaches out to pat Din’s hand. “We were planning a small ceremony.”
“Nonsense! I know you’re both busy men. We can handle all the logistics for you. All you and your fiancé need to do is show up to the day!”
“Well, Lee, thank you for the offer,” Cobb says, and Din can see he’s trying to be polite about it, but Din knows Cobb has a hard time turning down any of the favours the townspeople show him.
“It’s my pleasure, Marshal. It’s been some time since we’ve had cause to celebrate! We’ll be in touch!”
“Yeah, Lee. See you.”
Once she’s gone, Cobb looks to Din, and Din tries to smother his smile behind his hand.
“Hey, this is your town too,” Cobb says.
“I know. I guess a small ceremony is no longer in the works.”
“They were going to find out one way or another.”
…
From how Cobb explained it, Din thought he had a good idea of what entailed a Tatooine wedding from the settler-slave population. Good food, good drinks, good company.
“Have you thought about a house yet?”
Din looks to Jo as he’s elbow deep in a speeder. “What?”
“You know,” she says like Din should know. “A house.”
“Why would I—”
“Oh. You don’t know. Right.” She pops her lips. “It’s a Tatooine thing. ‘specially for freed slaves and poor settlers. It’s a thing of pride to be able to provide a place like a home. I know my dad worked hard to get an apartment for me and my ma while he also worked to get our manumission. Tiny one bedroom place ‘til I moved out here. But he was very proud of that place when he had it. Point is—what are you bringing to the table, Din?”
Din blinks and reaches for a towel to wipe sweat from his brow. “I hadn’t thought of anything.”
“Let me give you the one up ‘cause I know the Marshal won’t be asking’ for it himself.” She slides down from her perch on a workbench to lean over the speeder. “Man needs himself a proper house. And I’m talking a proper house. Most of the buildings here are temporary. They’re not built for long term which is why they require so much maintenance. Houses underground are the way to be. They take a while, sure, but when you’ve got a village.”
He frowns. “I thought that was for raising children.”
“Villages are for everything here, Din. If you want to give him something good, really show you love him, come find me when you’ve got free time. I’m pretty sure I can help you out with that issue.”
She then leaves and Din tries to return to his work at hand, but he’s stuck on the thought of a house. Of building a house for him and Cobb and for Grogu when he and his Jedi visit. Where they can host friends and not feel too crammed in Cobb’s home as it is. Where they can actually bring their lives and interests together in one shared space. A shared unit.
Cobb enters the garage looking like he’s dressed up to head into town, and Din stands to greet him. “Hey, darlin’!” He kisses Din on the cheek. Din wrinkles his nose.
“I’m dirty.”
“We’ve been worse to each other. Now. I’m headin’ into town for a bit. Told Jo to hold down the fort and you’re here for back up.”
Din nods. “You don’t want me coming with you?”
“Baby, I know you don’t like to travel to Mos Eisley. Take it easy. I’ll be back shortly after dinner.”
“Okay.”
He helps Cobb push out his speeder onto the main street of Mos Pelgo and kisses him once more before Cobb pulls his scarf up over his mouth and nose and pulls his goggles down over his eyes and offers Din a two fingered salute and then he’s off.
Din trudges down the street towards where Jo is leaning against the wall of the cantina. “So. A house.”
She nods. “Come on. Let’s talk logistics.”
…
In what they originally wanted to be a quick and short wedding turns into a several month-long affair as Mos Pelgo comes out in spades to support their Marshal and Mandalorian in tying the knot. They plan for food and for drinks. They send out invites to the local Tuskens, who also seem enthused that Din is getting married. They think it a good match, and well, at least Din has their approval.
The building of the Marshal’s new house is quietly under wraps. All Cobb knows is that a new house is being built, but he thinks it for one of the families in town, even comes by to watch Din at work in the staked-out pit, helping to dig down and remove sand until they come to the more compacted ground that they can put stabilizers against and hold in place before they’re pouring the plaster and concrete for the walls.
Whenever Din has a spare moment, he plans with Jo for the interior. A nice open kitchen. A large room for the both of them with an en-suite bathroom. There is not only one guest room but two. One that will largely be Grogu’s when he’s here to stay, and also one for the Jedi if he plans on staying the night. Sometimes he does.
Then there’s the living room, circular in design that could hold a dozen people comfortably, and knowing Cobb, he’ll like the opportunity to entertain more. Din thinks it’s perfect, and he finds as he puts the work into making a home, he realizes he’s looking forward to it not just for Cobb’s promised happiness, but also his own. He can’t remember the last time he’s actually had a proper home like this. Not since Aq Vetina anyway.
“You’re in a good mood,” Cobb says that night when they’re finishing the dishes after dinner.
Din shrugs. “Just happy I guess.”
“Good.” Cobb kisses him quickly on the cheek. “You deserve to be.”
…
One of the next steps for the wedding is the clothes themselves. For Cobb it means he’s getting a robe made for himself. White, flowing fabric with a fancy gold trim around the hems. It’s a standard piece of Tatooine marriages, and Din feels himself sort of bereft that he doesn’t have something similar.
So he plans a visit to Boba’s because they have a shared lineage, and Din can’t exactly walk up to where his old tribe is and ask, “Can any of you help me dress for my wedding? Even though you see me as dar’manda and probably wouldn’t accept my marriage to an outsider?”
Best not to think of it.
He rides with Cobb to the palace, but Cobb isn’t planning on staying.
“I got business in town,” he says. “Might be a while. You okay staying here tonight?”
“Of course.”
“’kay. Kiss.”
He tilts up for Din to lean down and kiss him before waving him off. Then Din heads towards the palace and is let in by the guards.
It’s one of Boba’s work days, meaning he’s not seeing court, which means he’s pouring drinks for him, Fennec, and Din to enjoy. He always serves the strong stuff, which makes Din’s throat burn, but he’s getting used to it.
“So how is it anyway?” Boba asks, reclined on one of the sofa’s where Fennec can press her feet against his thigh.
“Going well,” Din says, keeping his eyes on the dark liquor in his glass. “The house is coming along.”
“You still haven’t told him yet?” Fennec asks.
Din shakes his head. “I want to keep it a surprise for him.”
“Sounds like you got it bad.”
“And you don’t?”
Fennec chuckles and Boba smiles amusedly.
“Fennec’s not exactly my queen here,” Boba says.
“That’s right. I’m an empress.”
“Still. A house sounds like a good idea. Putting down roots. Settling in.”
“It’s about time,” Din says, taking a sip. He smacks his lips. “But it’s getting close to the day and . . . the seamstress offered to tailor me something, but I was hoping for something more—”
“Familiar?” Boba offers. Din nods.
“I think you can help with that,” Fennec says. “Despite what he might say, Boba’s become a real fashion snob.”
“It’s not fashion when you have to wear it to impress people who won’t take you seriously otherwise. The battle armour doesn’t always work.”
“Sure,” she says. “We’ll go with that.”
“I’ll see what I got.”
They eventually move to Boba and Fennec’s shared private quarters where Din can examine the clothing in front of a mirror.
“If you’re looking for something more Mandalorian,” Boba says from within his closet. “I’d suggest the lavalava. Especially if you’re aiming for tradition.”
“Bring out the blue one if you have it,” Fennec says.
Boba returns holding what Din first sees as a skirt, but recognizes the design of it when he was first living in the Fighting Corps’ barracks as a child. It’s meant to be a more formal piece of Mandalorian wear for more casual settings if one didn’t want to dress up in full battle armour. It’s meant to just sit on the hips.
Boba gets him to try it on right there. “You’d probably just wear a light pair of leggings underneath,” he says.
“Oh, and then,” Fennec says, rising to her feet and entering the closet. She returns with a lighter blue cloak and a red sash. “Tie it off with this sash here.” She wraps it around his waist. “And then the cloak like this.” She lets it sit on one shoulder and brings the two ends together to pin at his other shoulder. “You know, I might have a broach that could fit this. Din, hold this for me. I’ll be right back.”
He does as he’s told and looks at himself in the mirror.
“Not bad,” Boba says. “Colour suits you.”
Din turns a bit to admire himself in the mirror. He looks at Boba in the reflection and asks, with his stomach fluttering, “Have you spoken to the clan?”
“Oh, uh, yeah. Last week I think.”
Din hums.
“They’ve settled in just fine. Getting along with the Tuskens just fine, but seems like they got more in common than they do the settlers.”
Din nods. “I had a feeling they would.”
“Have you . . .”
“Not since they relocated.”
Boba hums.
“Here we go,” Fennec says, coming back into the room with a silver brooch—in the shape of a Mythosaur skull.
“I didn’t know you had that, cyar,” Boba says.
“It was a gift from a long time ago. Guy who gave it to me certainly wasn’t Mandalorian, but I think it’s best to return it to someone it should actually belong to.” She fixes the brooch to the cloak and then turns Din to face the mirror directly. “There. Now you look ready to get married.”
Din runs his fingers through his hair. He might want to get it cut before the wedding, but he knows Cobb likes it when it’s longer and it holds its waves more. He should at least shave. The uneven scruff on his jaw isn’t all that appealing to himself.
“Stars, it’s going to be a mad house on the day of,” Boba says. “Seems like we’ll have to bring the good stuff, Fennec.”
“You’re telling me.”
…
In the days leading up to the wedding, Din sees to the final touches of the house, ensuring the furniture is in place with room for more when they make the final move. He plans on surprising Cobb that day.
They have a good celebration the night before at the cantina, drinks on the house, and then, in Tatooine fashion, the couple are separated the night before. Din is headed off by Boba and Fennec to Din’s new house, and Cobb is dragged away by his deputy Jo to his house.
“Rest up, vod,” Boba says. “You got a long day ahead of you.”
The next morning, Fennec helps him get ready for the day, making sure his hair is just right, and the cloak is sitting on his shoulders just so. Boba is there in his armour, and Din feels a sour note in his stomach that he’s not wearing any of his. He wouldn’t feel right after his expulsion from the clan.
“You still want the Mandalorian vows?” Boba asks.
Din nods. “If you can.”
“I’d be honored, vod.”
And then he’s led out with his friends on either side of him down the main street with everyone and then some—Tuskens, out of town friends, some of Boba’s closer associates—have come out in full force down the street as it’s been fully decorated for the day.
The ceremony itself is held at one end of the town where an arch of bone from bantha horns has been carved as a gift from the Tuskens. And that’s when Din sees him—Cobb, dressed in white with gold trim and with the hood up over his head, a red sash at his waist as if to match Din’s without even knowing. His back remains turned as Din walks up the aisle towards the arch and then he’s standing next to Cobb, shoulder to shoulder, with Cobb’s lifelong friend and impromptu wedding officiator Issa-Or standing before them. Din keeps his eyes forward for now, waiting for the right moment to face his soon-to-be husband head on.
“Now, I know ya’ll have come out and taken time off of your busy schedules,” Issa-Or says. “And we don’t have much time to dilly-dally like they did in the nicer districts in Mos Eisley and the rest. Time wasn’t a luxury for people like us, so we had to make do. Which is why we’re here to see that Cobb Vanth, Marshal here in Mos Pelgo, spends the rest of his days married to none other than a Mandalorian! Someone he chose to let into his life, his home, and share the rest of his time in this mortal coil with.”
Din feels himself blushing, feels a smile breaking out over his face.
“Cobb?”
He sees Cobb lift his head.
“Why don’t you take a look at your man?”
He feels Cobb reach for his hand and Din gently turns with a little prodding. And as he turns, he sees Cobb pushing back his hood, and Din feels as if he could cry at the sight of him.
He sees Cobb’s lower lip tremble before he smiles, as bright as Tatooine’s suns themselves. “Din.” Cobb lifts Din’s hand and holds it between both of his own. Then Cobb laughs despite himself. “First time I’ve been without words in a while.”
There are a few laughs among the crowd.
“Darling, my love. First day I laid eyes on you, I knew I couldn’t let you go. And I am a richer man for having you. Even if I don’t got much but my name and my reputation and the good will of the people before us, I hope to give you everything you could ever need.” Then he raises Din’s hand and kisses the back of it tenderly.
“At this point, we’d say a done deal and have a feast,” Issa-Or says. “But as it is, Din is a Mandalorian, and we want to respect that part of him, so he comes with his own vows.”
She steps aside to let Boba come up.
“If you’ll both repeat after me,” he says. “We are one together.”
“Mhi solus tome,” Din says, quietly, only enough for Cobb and Boba to really hear.
He watches Cobb smiles, the pink curl of his tongue before he’s repeating in Basic. “We are one together.
“We are one when parted.”
“Mhi solus dhar’tome.”
“We are one when parted.”
“We share all.”
“Mhi me’dinui an.”
“We share all.”
“We shall raise warriors.”
“Mhi ba’juri verde.”
“We shall raise warriors.”
“Oya, vod,” Boba mutters.
And Din finds himself feeling bashful, and that’s when Cobb pulls him closer by his hands.
“Now I consider that we’re well and truly hitched now,” he says, and Din rushes in to cup his face and kiss his riduur in front of an adoring and loving crowd.
…
The rest of the day is pretty much a blur of being at Cobb’s side, being dragged away from Cobb, of Cobb being dragged away from him. Dance until his feet ache and he’s dizzy. More food than he’s used to. More drinks than he can tolerate, and falling asleep in a tent when he’s imbued too much with a pink cheeked Cobb next to him.
A few hours of sleep later and they’re back at it again for a more restful filled breakfast and relaxed conversation before finally, the festivities are over and people begin to head back to their business.
“Do you want to go home?” Din asks.
Cobb stretches and yawns, looking exhausted but content with his station in life. “You have read my mind.”
They walk down the street together, their clothes in a state of disarray before Din is leading him elsewhere.
“Babe, where . . .” Then it dawns on him and Din can’t help but smile. “No,” he says.
Din nods. “Come on. Let me show you to our home.”
Cobb is speechless when they enter the new partially buried house. He’s taken by how large it is, how high the ceilings are now, and how cool and inviting it is. Then he rushes forward to kiss Din and hold him close. “Oh, you are full of surprises.”
“Jo told me it’s a custom.”
“Well, not always a custom, but we pride ourselves on being able to provide.”
“Then let me provide for you.”
They kiss again, deeper this time until Cobb pulls back to rest their foreheads together. “Mm. As much as I’d like to christen this place, I’m bushwhacked.” Then he’s pulling Din into the bedroom where they collapse onto the bed as husbands, as riduurs.
…
“Hey, Din. You awake?”
Din stretches out on the bed and opens weary eyes to find Cobb kneeling on the ground next to the bed.
“What time’s it?” he asks.
“Afternoon-ish. Just went out to get some things from the old place, and, um, I guess now is as good a time as any to give this to you.” He sets a bundle of cloth knotted off with string on the bed before Din, and Din rises up on one elbow to look at it.
“You didn’t have to get me anything,” Din says, tugging at the strings.
“Yeah, well.” Cobb rubs the back of his neck, a nervous tic of his. “I felt like I had to for this one.”
In the cloth is an ornate dagger with its own leather sheath. When Din pulls the blade, he’s mesmerized with how the blade shimmers. A single piece that looks like it’s been carved from onyx.
“Cobb, I—” Then he sees the mark in the hilt of it.
The mark of his tribe. The Mythosaur skull. On the other side is the mark of the mudhorn.
He looks up to Cobb. “Where did you get this?”
“Well, I, I went to your clan.”
Din breathes out and sits up in full with the dagger in his lap. Cobb comes to sit on the edge of the bed.
“When you told me about your customs, and seeing your armour just sitting in our wardrobe for months, I wanted, I wanted to confront your clan. I know things are rocky between you and them, but I went in there to just speak with them at first. Then next thing I know, I’m sitting on the ground drinking tea with your matriarch.”
Din closes his eyes for a moment.
“And I don’t tell her everything, I don’t ream her out or nothing. I know you hold her in high regard. But I told her I was intending on marrying you and I wanted to do it right by you. No one else. So, she said she’d show me how to make something. And each time I visited, she’d ask about you and I’d tell her that, oh, you were a guest speaker in the school today, or you had fixed the power generators. And she’d tell me my smithy skills were shit and tell me to begin again.”
Din laughs. “Yeah, that sounds like her.”
“Then she asked me why I wanted to marry you. And I told her I wanted to spend the rest of my days making you happy, giving you everything you could ever need. And she said, he deserves it.”
He lifts his head to look at Cobb. “She said that?”
Cobb nods. “I think she misses you. She won’t say it, but she does. I think it’s just taking some time for her and some of the others to come around to this new world order of theirs. But next time I go, I want you to come with me.”
Din nods. “Yes. Yes, I’d love that. Thank you, thank you, thank you.” He kisses Cobb several times and holds him close with the knife on the bed spread next to him.
They don’t plan the trip out to Din’s clan for some weeks yet. They have a house to settle into after all. But then one day, they’re setting out on Cobb’s speeder. This time Din is wearing his armour with the knife at his hip. And this time they are facing Din’s clan together as one.
Unbreak My Heart - F.W
Fred Weasley X Reader Part 2 of ‘Call Out My Name’, inspired by the song ‘Unbreak My Heart’ by Toni Braxton.
Part 1 , Part 3
About: Fred realises he has everything wrong. His heart aching for the reader after pushing her aside for someone else, he searches for her to apologise for what he’s done and to admit his true feelings for her.
Theme: Heartache, sadness, moving on, relationships, rumours.
Warnings: mentions of raw emotions, *incredibly light* smut, depression, body image issues and swearing.
Don't leave me in all this pain Don't leave me out in the rain Come back and bring back my smile Come and take these tears away I need your arms to hold me now The nights are so unkind Bring back those nights when I held you beside me
The first thirteen months without Fred were the worst. You couldn’t face visiting Weasleys Wizard Wheezes no matter how many times George asked in his letters which you ignored. You couldn’t go into Diagon Alley without hearing news about The Weasleys - more importantly, the news about Fred and his darling; they were now engaged.
You kept to your bedroom, crying to sleep every night, looking through all the pictures you had taken of and with Fred over the years that you were with him. Letters you had written to him laid scrunched up all over your floor like an author going mad over a sticky, confusing, part of the story - but that was exactly what this was.
Everywhere you went as you entered Diagon Alley, you were forced to listen to the news over and over again that the shop was a success. You wanted to congratulate George, but after ignoring him for so long you couldn’t bring yourself to pick up a pen to reach out to him.
Too afraid to let anyone in after the damage Fred inflicted on you, you didn’t bother meeting anyone new.
Plenty of people offered and even your sister tried to match you up with a friend of hers from work, but you declined and allowed Fred’s damage to take over you.
You only left the house for work which was torture enough as you worked with Percy at the Ministry. You ate one meal a day which was an apple on your lunch break. You didn’t dream of moving out despite your parents encouragement and you simply just collapsed in on yourself whilst your family constantly complained about Fred, swearing that you chose the wrong twin.
Although you hated Fred - or at least convinced yourself that you did - you still thought about him every single day, and at bedtime you would envision yourself back on his sofa in his arms underneath that scratchy patchwork blanket you shared many memories under.
Laying awake staring at the ceiling, you took a deep breath. It had been over a year. You couldn’t go on like this. You needed to claim your life back, one step at a time. Sitting up in your bed, you grabbed the last of your parchment and leaned it against an old book. Dipping your feather quill into your ink pot that rested beside your bed next to the framed picture of you and Fred, you wrote to George.
You began apologising for not replying and for not visiting the shop, explaining why, and asked how everything was going - you missed your friend and it became suffocating to ignore him reaching out.
Un-break my heart Say you'll love me again Undo this hurt you caused When you walked out the door And walked out of my life Un-cry these tears I cried so many nights Un-break my heart My heart
It had been another five months since you wrote your letter to George and you were still waiting for a reply. You told yourself that perhaps he got too busy with the shop or he just didn’t want to mend things after you ignored him for so long. Either way, you didn’t ponder on it, sprayed yourself with some perfume, and got ready to leave for your third date this week.
George wasn’t ignoring you on purpose. He truly was too busy with not just everything at the shop, but also helping Fred plan out this so-called wedding and engagement party that came out of nowhere. He planned to write back but time got the better of him, he knew you wouldn’t take it personally.
“Oh look at you!” your sister grinned, “Same guy?” she asked enthusiastically.
“No,” you shook your head and grabbed your coat, putting it on, “I don’t see the same guy twice if the spark isn’t there.”
Your sister smiled to herself and told you to have a good time. You enjoyed yourself temporarily until you remembered Fred Weasley and what he did. He was the reason why you decided against seeing the same person twice. If there was no chemistry during intimacy you moved on. Speed dating was the perfect temporary aid you needed at the moment.
And just like Fred and his fiancé, word got out about you and how desirable you were. Instead of wallowing in self-pity, you started looking after yourself and forced yourself into the limelight. Even if it didn’t result in finding your true love, you still wanted to have fun along the way.
Your parents went to The Leaky Cauldron, and just as they were leaving, they bumped into Molly and Arthur Weasley. Your parents flinched at first sight, but swallowed the anger they had towards their son Fred.
“Oh Mr and Mrs Y/LN! what a lovely surprise to see you!” Molly chirped up. George turned his head and stood up to greet your parents. Unlike Fred, they loved George.
“And you.” Your father replied, his voice monotone.
“We haven’t seen your daughter for ages. We missed her last summer, please ask her to come and see us. George misses her and it’s our Freddie's engagement party tonight!” Molly babbled on, pointing to George when she mentioned him and Fred.
Molly and Arthur loved you coming over to the burrow. They loved you even more seeing how happy you made their son. In their eyes you brought out the best in him. On the other hand, they weren’t keen on the girl Fred decided to marry, she was inconsiderate, selfish and didn’t know what hard work was - she was handed everything she ever wanted, the exact opposite to you.
Your fathers face flushed with frustration. Didn’t they know why you never came around anymore? Were they not aware that Fred was the reason she screamed and cried every night for over a year?
Your mother hesitated but decided against holding back. She liked the Weasley family, but she couldn’t allow Fred to get away with what he had done.
“Maybe you should ask your darling boy, Fred. Or maybe George will tell you, he’s the decent one of the two.”
Your mother said no more and stormed out of the packed pub, your father trailing behind nodding a goodbye to George. Molly and Arthur stood there speechless and looked over at George, demanding that he tells them what happened as soon as they arrive home when everyone has gone to bed.
Fred felt strange throughout the whole party. He didn’t feel happy like he thought he would - he hadn’t been feeling happy for the past five months. Something in his life just didn’t feel right and he couldn’t put his finger on what was wrong -waking up next to his girlfriend made him feel sick and he realised how stupid he was thinking that getting engaged would make everything better.
Molly, Arthur and George sat at the dining table when everyone else was in bed. “George you better tell me what happened, now!” Molly hissed in a low whisper.
George spilled absolutely everything, from beginning to end. As much as he loved his twin, he didn’t shy away from any details even if they showed Fred for exactly who he was, and the awful things he did. Molly and Arthur were outraged at their child's behaviour. Molly had to restrain herself at the table whilst she sobbed into her hands.
Far away, you panted heavily as you came down from your high with your date. Unmounting him, you laid beside him in his bed. He took off his condom and breathlessly offered taking a shower with him. You accepted his offer knowing that you could go home straight after, you wouldn’t need to stress about hurrying in the morning to get to work on time.
Take back that sad word goodbye Bring back the joy to my life Don't leave me here with these tears Come and kiss this pain away I can't forget the day you left Time is so unkind And life is so cruel without you here beside me
Work at the ministry became more tolerable over the next six months. Percy smiled at you more often and you couldn’t understand why. You didn’t look into it and simply smiled back. You flourished even more within the same time - you had got into a relationship with the one night stand you shared a shower with. The curly haired bookshop assistant grew on you and you didn’t mind, he often made you laugh so hard you burst into tears.
Whilst you were finding yourself, running with the wind, Fred had fallen apart completely. He overheard George spilling his guts, and finally realised why everything felt so wrong, why he wasn’t happy. You were the missing piece. His guilt and mistakes were eating him alive. He broke off the engagement - to his parents delight - and vowed on finding you and making everything right. George felt relieved that he had his own room because Fred’s cries were enough to make anyone feel ill.
Fred slept with the Irish scarf he bought you from the world cup, and he kept the patchwork blanket on his bedroom, refusing to bring it back downstairs.
Memories flashed back to him, the two of you in the tent, “Oh Fred are you sure?” you asked him as he put the scarf around your neck.
He chuckled and kissed your head, “Anything for you, my love!”
Then memories from the sofa flooded in, hurting him even more.
“I’m so in love with you,” you moaned, cupping his face while he made love to you.
He shook his head and came to his senses, angry that he put such a lovely girl in the firing line.
“Percy, Y/N works with you doesn’t she? Can you tell her I need to see her.” He later begged.
Percy refused, “That would be an incredibly inappropriate thing to do in the work place!”
Fred wrote you letters, but you never got them. The family refused to lend him their owl and Fred couldn’t understand muggle post. Getting desperate, he would stay in Diagon Alley trying to see where you were lurking after work, asking strangers if they had seen you, showing them the only picture he had of you.
“It’s going to be perfect here!” Your mum smiled looking around your large half unpacked apartment, “When will he be moving in?” She winked.
You finally saved up enough money to move out and you were planning on asking your boyfriend to move in if things continued to run smoothly. You had got your furniture, all you needed were the items left in the big green box from your bedroom. “I’ll collect them next week.”
Feeling brave with your partner, arms linked, the two of you visited George’s shop. He had sent you a letter letting you know when Fred wasn’t working and you felt confident that you wouldn’t bump into him.
“I’m so proud of you!” You cheered for George, giving him a hug.
After paying for your bits and bobs you previously saw in the design stages, you walked out of the shop and bumped into someone. Looking up to apologise, you realised it was Fred. He stared at you - both of you mirroring each other looking like a deer caught in the headlights.
You shook yourself out of the immediate shock Fred was still stuck in.
“Sorry,” you muttered, walking away, your boyfriend asking what his problem was.
Un-break my heart Say you'll love me again Undo this hurt you caused When you walked out the door And walked out of my life Un-cry these tears I cried so many nights Un-break my heart
Another week went by and Fred was going stir crazy. Customers in his shop who knew you both were whispering about how happy you were now. Him and George argued when he discovered the letter between you two.
Fred rifled through the stacks of letters and found your parents address where you no longer lived. He got on his broom, not caring if muggles saw him, and landed on the roof. He crawled down to your window and gave it a tap with his wand with a soft “Alohomora”.
Expecting to find you asleep, he discovered only disappointment that your room laid bare and empty. The bedside table had nothing but a folded photo lying face down on it, the bin on the floor full of parchment balls.
He unfolded the photo and put a hand over his mouth, seeing you and him moving during your morning walks. He bent down and grabbed a ball from the bin, unravelling the parchment. He cried reading the letters you had written him but never sent. Out of the corner of his eye he spotted the green box on your bed and he went through it, more tears spilling down his face.
“I’ll just grab my box!” He heard you yell, walking upstairs.
Without giving him time to hide, you opened the door, revealing him standing in front of you. You held back a scream of shock and took a deep breath shaking your head, “Fred please - you can’t be here.”
Fred shook his head and cried, “I’m so sorry, for everything,” he made his way closer to you, “I got everything wrong, her, everything.”
Not wanting your parents to see him, you closed your bedroom door and locked it, your heart pounding. Tears fell from your eyes, the walls you put up against him crashing down, your hate for him melting away and your love for him surging inside.
“Why are you here?” you questioned him through your cries.
Fred walked over to you slowly not wanting to scare you off. This was the closest you had been to him since you bumped into him at the shop. The young man you fell in love with wrapped his arms around you, tangling his hands in your hair. You stayed still with your hands by your side.
“I’m in love with you.” Fred choked out between sobs. He pulled away and gently put your hands in his, your tear filled eyes getting lost in his.
“Fred- I can’t!” you shook your head crying, feeling weak at the words he said and the ones you replied with.
“Please,” Fred begged getting onto his knees, staring up at you, “please let me make things right.”
Don't leave me in all this pain Don't leave me out in the rain Bring back the nights when I held you beside me
“I think you look stunning,” Fred complimented you, soot spread out all over your nose.
You chuckled and sneaked a kiss on his lips, only to hear a loud thud on the desk in front of you.
“One weeks’ detention for the two of you,” Professor Snape snarled, “and fifty points will be deducted from your house.”
Un-break my heart Say you'll love me again Undo this hurt you caused When you walked out the door And walked out of my life Un-cry these tears I cried so many, many nights Oh, un-break my
“What do you mean you’re taking her instead of me!” you freaked out, throwing your earrings at the mirror.
“It’s just a bloody Yule Ball. Y/N. It doesn’t mean anything.” Fred argued.
“Well it does to me!” you argued back, “I’m guessing I was just your back up plan if she said no.”
Un-break my heart, oh baby Come back and say you love me Un-break my heart, sweet darlin' Without you I just can't go on
Fred held you in his arms, the two of you watching the muggle horror movie in amazement. You nuzzled your head into his neck, planting kisses on it softly. Fred let out a soft shaky moan, his hand making its way up your thigh. “We’ll need to be quiet,” he whispered, pulling your underwear off.
Can't go on (Say that you love me, say that you love me) (Tell me you love me, un-break my) (Say that you love me, say that you love me) (Tell me you love me, un-break my)
You stared at Fred, still trying to process what he said. You pursed your lips and stayed quiet getting lost in your thoughts. Fred noticed you were in shock and lost for words. He pulled out the scarf from his coat pocket and walked over to you, wrapping it around you.
You stared up at him, getting lost in those gorgeous eyes that you missed so much. You looked down at his lips and kissed him impulsively.
He kissed back.
Electric Love, Chapter 7
Word Count: 3.7k
Warnings: violence, fighting, mentions of an abortion, secret relationship
"We're going to tell your father everything that we have," Fury growled at the younger Stark. He was yelling at her for breaking protocol and a direct order, but she didn’t care. She’d help save her father at least for a while. When she told Fury about Tony’s issue, he told her that they could help, but she was being given a new assignment. One that would mean she had to stay away from him, "but you need to maintain distance."
"I know."
"No," he growled again, "you don't. I had to deal with the fallout of Monaco's Grand Prix. Not you. I had to explain to the world what they saw was none other than a teenage girl the world thought was dead, suddenly alive and with superpowers. I warned you, Stark. I told you that you weren't allowed to engage. DIDN'T I? This is why! There are consequences to your actions, and what you did shows how much like your father you truly are."
"You did, Director Fury." She replied nervously, “I’m sorry for disobeying the order, but I don’t regret my decisions. I did what was right in that moment in time. And I don’t think that makes me irresponsible. I made a judgement call. And I believe that it was the right one that saved countless lives.”
"Congratulations. You don't get to leave the facility now," he replied shortly, "your privileges are being revoked until further notice. Am I understood?"
"Yes, Director Fury."
"And you are going to engage in more cognitive exercises with Captain America. We're going from the once a week to every other day."
"Director Fury I don't think-"
"You're right," he replied, cutting her off, "you don't think. So let me do that for you. Your last reports a few weeks ago said that he engaged with you in the last memory."
"At the end of the memory," she corrected, "he-he saw me. And then he threw his shield at me. I've been purposefully holding back since then. If it's an intimate memory, or one without others, I guide it back to a less intimate one so that I'm in the background."
"I want more," he replied, narrowing his eyes at her, "I want you to engage with him on a one-to-one. He's trying to wake up. Give him the reasons to wake up. We need Captain America now more than ever, Blue."
"And if he tries to harm me again?"
"Be more careful," Fury laughed, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world, "you've been trained by Agents Romanoff and Barton. Your hand-to-hand combat skills are excellent. And you can always use your abilities."
"I don't want to harm him."
"Then don't. Both of you are assets, Blue."
She sighed, "okay Fury."
"Good," he nodded, "get some rest, and then first thing tomorrow morning, head to the Captain's quarters and get to work."
"You aren't Dot."
"No."
He looked around the empty bunk area, then back to her. Steve’s eyes narrowed. There were no weapons, but also no immediate threats. So he simply stood in front of her, crossing his arms.
"Where is she?"
"I-I don't know who she is."
She could see the nervousness in his eyes at the mention of not knowing who Dot was, "sh-she is a nurse. One of the head nurses. Sh-she has been here the whole time I have. She's my best friend..."
"The mother of your child."
His brow furrowed, "sh-she never gave birth..."
"You seem confused, Captain Rogers. Talk to me.”
He sat down momentarily as though he were trying to process the thoughts racing through his mind. Hannah could sense the anxiety. The confusion. He knew that something was off.
"We made love tonight," he said simply. He sat up from the small bunk and once more returned to the standing position where his arms were crossed. But he made sure to stand a few feet away from Hannah. She averted her gaze as he was only in briefs. He blushed when he realized that his blanket was no longer covering himself and he rushed to cover his nether regions, "my apologies."
"Why are you confused?" she asked, her gaze still focused on the floor, "you mentioned last time that she was the mother of your child."
"She was sent to Azzano," he muttered, looking at the door. He looked like he was thinking, his eyes almost glassed over. Then he turned back to Hannah, "th-they must have taken her while I slept...but she married Buck at the base. Got an abortion in secret...Buck told me after I rescued him from the HYDRA base."
"Who's Buck?" she asked quickly, trying to make him think through it. She was fully aware of who James Buchanan Barnes was. It was his best friend that he’d lost in the war, "you've mentioned him before, Captain Rogers."
"My other best friend," he said simply. He fiddled with the edge of the blanket, "Dot's husband."
"You slept with your best friend's wife?"
"I don't need the judgement," he growled, shaking his head, "I'll get plenty of it when I wake up and Peggy tells me she's gone. When Bucky and I talked about it, and he cried in my arms telling me that he has to get her back...I know the hypocrisy. But…he’s gone now…he…he’s gone."
"I wasn't judging you."
"But you are," he replied, looking at the teenager across from him, "I've seen you before...a few times now."
"Well, this is the first time you haven't tried to throw your shield at me."
"This is the first time you didn't show up when I was fighting someone."
“You weren’t fighting Dot,” she answered sadly, “at least never when I came.”
"So your dad is Tony Stark," he chuckled, both of us sitting at the bar, "and your grandfather was Howard."
"Yeah," she nodded, taking a sip on the strong drink that was in front of her, "dad said grandpa was a real hardass...he died before I was born."
"When were you born?"
"I'm not supposed to talk about what's going on now," she muttered, looking down at the bar, "it's a rule."
"Well assuming Howard had a kid when I crashed in 1945, and that kid had a kid immediately, it's at least what, 1980...and you said I'm alive."
"If you managed to create me while you were dead to the world that's pretty impressive."
"So, it's at least 1980."
"Do you think time matters?"
"How are you able to speak to me?" he asked, changing the subject, "have we advanced this far?"
"No," she admitted with a shake of her head, "I uhm...I got into an accident at Stark Industries...pretty much I got superpowers."
"So, you're like me?"
"No, not in the slightest" she laughed taking another drink, "not at all. I don't have super strength and I'm not a super soldier. I uhm...the best way to explain it is that I can enter people's minds. And I can travel spatially. Creating portals. And I can manipulate energy and technology."
"That sounds wild. Your grandpa would have loved to study you," he chuckled as he sipped on his own drink, “you know he wanted to build a flying car. Saw it at a Stark Expo once.”
"It is pretty wild…all of it."
"And how old are you?"
"Seventeen now," sheadmitted. Steve's eyes widened and he looked at the drink. It disappeared, "oh come on. Really? You’re going to take away my drink? It’s not even real!"
"You're a kid," he grumbled, "I can't let you drink."
"This isn't even real," she laughed again, as if it were obvious, "we're not really in a bar, Steve. This is all going on in your mind."
"That doesn't matter, kid."
"That's bullshit and you know it."
"Hey," he said in an authoritative tone, "Language."
"Really?"
"Really," he chuckled, taking a drink from his glass. He grimaced and looked at her, "why is it that they made Manhattan the chosen borough, huh? Brooklyn is just as good. We deserve a drink that's just as popular."
"Lithium dioxide," Nat replied as a portal opened up and Hannah sat down beside Fury, "it won't cure you, but it'll take the edge off."
"Kiddo, what are you doing here?"
"Work with Fury," she replied, folding her hands together, "when he talked to you about the Avenger's Initiative, he did so because of me. He didn't invite you, dad. He invited me."
"What?"
"She signed on, Tony," Fury smiled, "you should be proud of your kid."
"She's a minor," Tony muttered quickly, "she tell you that? She'll need parental consent...and guess what, I don't consent."
"Technically I'm dead," Hannah said simply, looking through her lashes to her father, "death certificates are a hell of a thing to undo."
"I can undo it."
"No, you can't," Fury laughed, "and she prefers that it stays that way. Hannah is here to help you, Tony."
"And because you told me I'm being pulled off capsicle detail."
"Capsicle detail?"
"I get to hang out with the two of you for the night, before being reassigned, right, Fury?"
"You've done more than your fair share within the office," Fury nodded, "and we do need you to do some field work."
Later that night
"What is and always will be my greatest creation, is you."
The film died down and Howard Stark faded away from the projector. Hannah leaned against the door frame, watching her father. It was obvious that something deep within him was struck by the film, and that was something, a side of him that he'd never seen before.
But it was a side that she'd gotten to see.
Courtesy of her time with Captain Rogers.
She got to be in a pub while Howard talked about how much he was falling in love with a woman named Maria. She got to witness the liveliness of her grandfather. The openness. How he was secretly afraid of engaging in his personal feelings.
Much like her own father.
Sure she couldn't interact with Cap's memories that involved people like Dot, Peggy, her grandfather, or even his friend Bucky, but she could watch the memories. And sometimes that's how they spent their time together. He would replay the memories, allowing himself to relive them.
"You're gonna be mad at me," she whispered, sitting down at the bar stool next to him, "but I'm not gonna be here for a while."
"Where are you going?"
"New Mexico."
"Why?"
"Honestly?" she asked. Steve nodded, "I don't know...I'm being put out into the field...there was an energy surge that doesn't belong here."
"The tesseract?"
"Maybe."
"I need to wake up."
"I know," she admitted, reaching out to him. She put her hand over his and he looked at her, "we'll work on it when I get back...but you've made a lot of great progress in the past few weeks."
"It's been weeks?"
She sighed, remembering that she wasn't supposed to talk about timeframes with him. As far as he knew, it was at least 1980. She didn't need to freak him out and let him know that it was almost 30 years past his best estimated guess.
"Steve."
"I know," he admitted, a shake of his head, "you can't tell me."
"I'm sorry Steve."
"Can you at least tell me if Lynx, or Dotty, or Delores Barnes still exists?"
"I-I don't know who that is."
"She worked for HYDRA."
"HYDRA is gone, Steve."
His face lit up, "it is?"
She nodded, "yes. After you crashed, HYDRA fell."
Then his features went dark, "Can you look into her then...I...I have to know. HYDRA made her a super soldier like me. She was given the serum...in the time that I've been under, does it look like my body has aged?"
"I don't know what you looked like in 1945, Steve...how old were you?"
"I was born in 1918."
"Well, you definitely don't look like it."
He smirked, "I don't?"
"No," she laughed, a shake of her head, "You look pretty similar to how you are right now. Your hair is a little bit lighter...but that's about it."
"So, she could still be alive."
"I guess it's possible."
"You have to find out about her for me then," he pled. His hands held her own and he was leaning in towards her, "I'm serious. Bucky's gone. I lost him when he fell from the train...but she was alive when I crashed. You've seen the memory. If I haven't aged, then there's a chance she didn't either...she might still be alive."
"I'll look into it," she sighed, unable to turn down his request. He practically pulled her out of her chair as he held her in a hug. A slew of 'thank you' and 'god bless you's' were thrown her way as he held her tightly, "Steve...I-I don't want you getting your hopes too high. Even if she's still alive...I don't know where she is. You're still comatose...I can't promise that you'll wake up."
"You said I gripped your hand though," he said quickly, "outside of my head. I held onto you...and I said her name."
"Yes."
"That's all the hope I need," he smiled, "I'll keep trying...even when you're gone."
"Steve."
"Please," he smiled, "Just remember to try and find her...that's all I ask, Hannah."
"I'll try Steve."
Hannah stared at her computer as she continued to look up HYDRA. She'd made a promise to Captain Rogers that she fully intended to keep. And while she was doing nothing in New Mexico, this seemed like the best use of her time.
As she managed to breach multiple firewalls, her energy allowed her deep into the restricted files that Fury would be angry knowing she accessed. But she had to do it. She promised Steve.
"What are you doing, kid?"
She didn't look up from her laptop as she continued to work through the backchannels of the internet, while making it appear she was simply researching lore online.
"Don't worry it about it, Barton."
"Looking up things you shouldn't be?"
She looked back and he gave her a knowing smirk. The two of them had worked together long enough to know that neither one of them necessarily cared for the rules.
"Just lore."
"You look like you're doing something else," he commented, “eyes are glassy like that’s just a cover.”
"And what is it that you think I’m really doing?" she asked, stopping her research. Her eyes unclouded and she turned to face the arrowhead that was behind her yet again, "what do you think I'm doing, Clint?"
"Natasha asked about an energy a few moments ago," he chuckled, "someone's accessing HYDRA files...and you've been spending a lot of time with the capcicle before this mission..."
Her brow raised and the corner of her jaw twitched, "you accusing me of something, Clint?"
"Just letting you know, Natasha's been pinged," he chuckled, navigating the conversation lightly "and as our security expert, I'm letting you know."
"And as our tech, energy, and matter expert," she smirked, "I'm letting you know, that I’ll look into it."
"Hydra's been down you know...for decades,” he commented, “haven’t been active since Rogers took down that ship.”
"Is that why there are whispers of high-profile assassinations linked to 'ghosts' then?"
"Not my place," he chuckled with a shrug, "I'm above board with that."
"Like Budapest."
"You and her looooooveee bringing that up, don't you?" he asked, staring deep into your eyes, “you and Nat love reminding me of Budapest!”
She smirked, "Do you know much about the history?"
"Of Hydra?"
She nodded, "yeah."
"Well, you might find more if you looked into his friends, Peggy Carter, James Buchanan Barnes, your dear old grandfather Howard Stark, and Delores Helen Barnes...the Barnes' were POWS to Hydra. Rogers damn near lost his mind a little trying to find them. Went off kilter and made his missions revolve around dismantling their bases. That’s how he found Sergeant Barnes."
"He's been asking about her."
"Who?"
Rogers," she admitted, biting her lip, "Lady Barnes. The last few sessions he admitted that he almost had a baby with her."
"She was married to Sergeant Barnes."
"I know."
"So, he's asking about an old flame?" he laughed. He leaned against the inside of the van and watched Hannah, "and you're searching hidden files trying to find her."
"I owe that much to him," she shrugged indifferently. Closing her laptop. She began to head to the end of the van, "think I hear a storm brewing...the energy on the hammer is going wild. Gonna go inside."
"You know it's a little weird that you can sense that stuff."
"What can I say?" she offered with a shrug, "get blown apart by an arc reactor and you might have the opportunity to."
"Not a risk I'm willing to take, kid. Got a family of my own to worry about. They don’t need me getting shredded and turning into pure energy" he chuckled, "and anyways, Coulson told us to stay here until we're needed."
She huffed, rolling her eyes as she read energy signatures in the surrounding area, "the hammer is reacting to something. I need to figure out what that something is before it becomes a problem…wouldn’t you say, security expert?"
"Coulson," he said quickly, pressing on his comm, "Coulson, what does the reading of the hammer say?"
"Elevated," he replied. Hannah mouthed the words just as he spoke them, a knowing smile on her face. The rain started, a heavy patter on the van as the conversation continued, "Stark asking?"
"Thinks somethings going down."
"We have a breach in the wall," another agent replied over the comms, "I repeat. Breach in the wall."
As Coulson called for the agent's report, there was nothing but static. Hannah looked to Barton, "I told you so. Problem, Agent Barton?"
"You don't know that yet."
"Something is nearby, Clint," she said in an annoyed tone, "we need to go. Now!"
Then the alarm went off.
"Barton, get eyes on the situation!" Coulson cried quickly, "Stark. Get to the hammer. NOW!"
"Told you," she said with a roll of her eyes. As Clint grabbed his bow and hopped out of the van and into a basket to be placed over the hammer, Hannah watched the outline of a man fighting the guards.
She watched as he easily took them down. After he went through one of the walls, the big guard was taken down. He ripped another partition open and disappeared into it.
"Stark!" Coulson growled through the comm, "where are you?"
"I Have a shot," Clint warned as he went to the center where the hammer was, "Last chance, sir."
Hannah opened a portal behind the man, slipping through, she watched as he interacted with the hammer.
"Wait," Coulson said to both of them, "I want to see this."
All of them watched as Thor gripped the hammer, attempting to lift Mjolnir. After a few attempts, he looked to the sky, terrified. Screaming out, he realized that Odin had taken his power away.
Hannah took quiet steps in the rain and appeared in front of Thor. He was blinded slightly by the blue, white glow coming off of her skin, and for the briefest moment he thought she was a goddess, sent to him.
An angel.
"Help me, goddess. Odin has taken it from me. Odin has taken my power!"
She reached out and put a hand to his cheek. He leaned into the warmth, feeling as though it were electricity between, he and the woman. She tapped his temple and he dropped to his knees. He stared up at her as she stopped glowing, dark loose waves whipping around her in the rain. Her black bodysuit hugging her curves.
He stared into her eyes, unable to move, and she disappeared into a portal.
Interrogation
Loki stared at his brother. As the two of them spoke, Hannah stood, invisible in the corner. She stared curiously at the two men, wondering who they really were. The men, clearly hadn’t noticed her, and she intended to keep it that way as she eavesdropped on their conversation.
The man in green, with black hair called the man sitting down, Thor. While he called the man standing in front of him, Loki. They talked of their father, Odin, and how he was supposedly dead, and that Thor was now exiled.
Her heart broke for the unknown man.
But she tapped into keywords as she looked him up online. Thor. Loki. Odin. The hammer popped up again, and she knew she'd stumbled into something way bigger than S.H.I.E.L.D. And she gasped, as it all came to be too similar to the Norse gods, and their tales.
'Loki' apologized to his brother and told him goodbye, but Thor thanked him for coming to tell him what was going on.
"Farewell, brother."
"Goodbye." Thor replied.
As the door opened, Hannah popped up behind Coulson, following him in, "Goodbye? I just got back."
"Coulson, could you do me a favor, and check up on the hammer?" Hannah asked softly, "There was some agents asking for you down at the site and they wanted your approval on the levels…and then I believe you need to call Fury about the update."
He nodded, leaving the room once more.
"What is this?" Thor asked, narrowing his eyes at the beautiful woman in front of him, "what do you want of me."
"Nothing, Thor Odinson." she said simply, crossing her arms across her chest.
Thor smiled, "you know who I am, blue angel?"
"I know of the lore," she replied quickly,absorbing the information from the web, "what I don't understand is why you're here?"
"I attacked Jotunheim in a time of peace," he replied, answering the woman’s questions, "the all-father exiled me away from the kingdom, just as I was about to become the new king."
"And Loki?" she asked, "why was he here?"
"You saw Loki?"
"My talents allowed me to do so," she nodded, "allow me to sense energies. I can transition with them in a way...I saw him project himself to you when Coulson left."
"He is my brother."
"Why was he here?"
"To tell me that the all-father is dead."
"And he didn't take you back?"
"I am exiled," Thor replied, "I cannot simply go back because my father is dead, "Loki said that my mother disallowed it."
"You seem oddly at peace with it."
"You have a lot of questions, blue angel."
"You're not supposed to be real, god of thunder,” she shrugged, “there is a lot of questions that need answers.”
Little Lies
Part One
Part Two
Part Three
Part four
So much angsty shit in this part. Wow. Sorry.
please be cautious there is some VERY SLIGHT mentions of homophobia in this post, if this could be triggering to you in anyway, do not read this okay? take care of yourself <3
(Y/N) and Todoroki agreed they would get pictures at his house before meeting up with their friends. Both sides were nervous, because both sides knew that meant having to meet his family.
Todoroki was not as worried about his brother and sister, or even his brother’s girlfriend. What he was mostly worried about was his father. Things were better between the two of them, but still not perfect. He was still trying to forgive him for things they haven’t spoken about. Like the incident with his mother, or even his estranged older brother.
“Todoroki, you almost look nervous for your girlfriend to show up?” Natsuo smirked at his younger brother, who was currently letting Fuyumi fuss over his tie.
“She isn’t my girlfriend,” Todoroki sighed, rolling his eyes at his brother. After tonight there would be no chance of it ever happening either. Todoroki had tried so hard to stay positive, over trying to convince himself that she would hear him out and forgive him. He didn’t deserve her forgiveness, not in the slightest.
When there was a knock on the door, both of his older siblings became overly excited. Meanwhile Todoroki did his best to force a smile, trying to remain calm over the idea that this was it. The girl that used to bother him, and annoy him for no reason, was now the girl he was worried about losing. A few short weeks together, and he couldn’t help but admit that she was his peace. Everything that happened in his life, she was the one who made him smile for that.
That smile faded though when he heard two voices on the other side of the door. He opened it to see his oldest brother, leaning up against the side of the house, smiling at Shoto’s date. They were laughing together. Todoroki’s eyes stayed focused on his date for a second, taking in how absolutely gorgeous she was. He knew he would have to tell her that five hundred times, but right now he couldn’t figure out why Touya was standing on his front porch.
“Ah baby Shoto!” Touya grinned at his little brother, ruffling his hair. Shoto smacked his hand away, glaring at him.
“You decided to dye your hair back to white I see?” Todoroki glared at him, sending a small smile towards a confused looking (Y/N).
“Don’t be rude Shoto, let’s get your pretty little girlfriend inside,” Touya pushed back his little brother, heading towards the dining room. (Y/n) stepped inside the front room, staring up at her date.
“Todoroki, is everything okay?” She smiled, and he felt himself ease up at the sight. He didn’t want to try explaining what was happening. Why this wasn’t just some endearing drop in from an older sibling. How could he tell her all of this now? She was going to hate him by the end of the night.
“Yeah, of course, did your mom not want to come in?” Shoto smiled down at her, gently kissing the top of her head. A blush dusted her cheeks, and she shook her head.
“She had to rush off to work, Touya promised to get pictures of us for her,” She smiled up at him, and caught onto how he instantly tensed back up.
“Yeah, hey Fuyumi set up this whole thing to take pictures in front of, so I am sorry if it is all a little over the top,” Shoto sighed, laughing slightly. His sister insisted that they don’t just take pictures in front of the wall. After all this was the first time she had seen her little brother seem genuinely excited to be with somebody.
“That is the sweetest thing, at least we will have some nice pictures, Bakugo’s cranky ass will probably ruin the group ones,” (Y/N) laughed, linking her arm with Shoto’s arm. They walked towards the dining room, where everyone was waiting. Except for Shoto’s parents, which (Y/N) quickly became curious about. Touya was leaned back in a chair, his legs propped up against the table, still just smirking at his little brother. His other siblings seemed tense now too, looking at one another. Natsuo smiled at (y/n) brightly, and walked over with Fuyumi to shake her hand.
“We are so excited to meet you!” Fuyumi grinned, shaking the girls hand a little too excitedly, “Shoto has done nothing but talk about you since you two started studying together,”
“Wow, she is a lot prettier than the last one too,” Natsuo smiled at his little brother, who shot him another eye roll, smirking slightly.. The smirk soon turned into a full on grin once he saw the triumphant smile that was on her face thanks to the comment.
“Where are your parents?” (Y/n) looked over at Shoto, who went stiff for the fifteenth time since he opened the front door. Fuyumi let out an awkward cough, and a nervous laugh.
“Dad got caught up at work, he says to be a perfect gentleman, and I am supposed to send him pictures,” Fuyumi smiled happily, but it quickly turned into a frown once there was hysterical laughter coming from behind her. Touya had his head leaned back, chuckling loudly.
“Oh that’s the act he is following now right?” Touya’s comment made all of the Todoroki siblings tense up this time. Natsuo shot his older brother a dirty look, and shook his head slowly. Touya held up his hands in defense, before making a motion like he was zipping his lips.
“Well, let’s take some pictures so you two aren’t late to meet your friends!” Fuyumi changed the topic, or at least tried her best to. Touya then stood up from his seat, walking over to Todoroki and (Y/N), smiling at the pair.
“Why don’t you let your big brother hop in one picture?” Touya smirked, going to stand in front of the back drop that Fuyumi had created. Shoto led (Y/N) over, and made sure to put himself in between the two of them, “Maybe we can print it off to send it to Mom in your next letter Shoto, or are the doctors letting her have a phone now?”
Shoto quickly shot his brother a dirty look. Just as Fuyumi clicked to take the picture, (Y/N) looked over at the pair. She felt a little guilty, she hadn’t known Todoroki’s mother was sick, if she was with doctors?
“Your mom is sick?” (Y/N) frowned, and earned a panicked look from her date. Touya leaned over, shaking his head. His grip was tight around his little brother’s shoulder.
“No, she is probably quite well, but dear old Dad got her locked up after she burned his favorite child’s face,” Touya said it so calmly, but the energy in the room quickly shifted. Even Natsuo’s girlfriend seemed a little shocked, looking over at her boyfriend. (Y/N) looked up at Shoto, staring at his scar. His mom did that to him? The one time they had had a discussion about it, he said that it was an accident.
“Touya,” Fuyumi hissed, looking between her older and younger brother. She was expecting some kind of fight to break out, just like the last time the oldest Todoroki son had come. Shoto smacked his brother’s hand off his shoulder, before grabbing (Y/n)’s hand. She gave a small wave to his siblings, as she was dragged out of the room, and then out of the house.
Todoroki walked her over to his car, opening the door for her. Of course Touya had to show up just to ruin this. He knew that as soon as Fuyumi had put some status up, with a picture of him getting ready, that the oldest sibling would do everything he could to ruin it. There was always some kind of tension between the pair of them, even before Shoto could understand why. After all Endeavor had practically pitted them against each other, without even intending too. Shoto had tried reaching out to his older brother, but Touya wanted nothing to do with him. Then after Endeavor and Touya’s falling out, there was no hope.
The car ride was eerily silent, even with the music playing through the speakers. Shoto was gripping the steering wheel, tapping his fingers impatiently at a red light. He was hoping with everything in him that she wouldn’t ask questions, but it was (Y/N) and she worried about people. She was constantly fussing over everybody, like the days Kirishima’s hair has gotten too long and his roots are coming through. She knows he doesn’t want his natural hair to show through, she is quickly asking when they need to go to the store to buy his hair dye. She also has the tendency to ask her friends if they had eaten that day, especially when Bakugo and Midoriya are talking about some stupid lifting competition they want to have with one another. Shoto knew she had no intentions of just leaving this alone, and he was right.
“Are you going to explain any of that to me, or do I need to take a few guesses?” (Y/N) whispered gently, Todoroki could only reply by letting out a small sigh. He pulled into a parking lot of some convenience store. They still had an hour before they had to meet up with the others.
“Neither of my parents are bad people,” Todoroki whispered looking over at the girl, his voice a little shaken, “My father has made some questionable mistakes, and was negligent towards my mother and my siblings, he was obsessed with becoming the best in his profession,”
“In return, my mother had some issues she had to work through, and she had reached her breaking point, I had caught her in the middle of a breakdown, and she ended up pouring hot water on my face,” Todoroki sighed, reaching up to touch his scar, “I told you once that it was an accident, and it was, but my father still had her admitted to the hospital,”
“She is still there?” (Y/n) questioned, and Todoroki nodded sadly.
“She doesn’t believe that she is ready to leave yet, and still has plenty of healing to do,” Todoroki tried his best to force a smile, “My old man is trying his best too, we have all been talking about possibly doing group sessions together soon, to discuss everything that happened,”
“Shoto, I am so sorry,” (Y/n) frowned, reaching her hand over to grab his shaking ones, “What is the issue with your oldest brother then?”
“What isn’t an issue with him?” Todoroki smiled slightly at her use of his first name, “He was my dad’s pride and joy before I came along, and then for some reason my father fixated on me, and began ignoring him along with my other siblings, it caused some big rift between us all,”
“Then Touya turned nineteen, started dating some guy, and sadly my father was still an absolute asshole at the time, he flipped out on Touya for potentially ruining the family image, and called him some pretty terrible names,” (Y/N)’s jaw fell a little bit, no wonder he seemed so mad. Still though, the way he took it out on Shoto..
“He targets me because he isn’t man enough to target Dad head on yet,” He answered her unasked question, and she just nodded sadly. Trying her best to not look at him with pity, she knew that wasn’t what he wanted right now.
“Thank you for trusting me enough to explain this all to me,” She smiled at him, kissing the back of his hand. He looked her face over a few times, feeling his heart twist up at the fact that she was so sincere. That she cared so much. The one time he tried talking to Momo about this, she completely blew him off about it. Shoto grabbed the sides of her face, pulling her into a kiss. Usually he would do something cheeky, and try and take it to the other level.. This time though, he was soft, gentle, and nothing but passion resonated throughout the kiss.
His way of telling her thank you for listening to him.
------------------------------------
“You damn slowpokes you were supposed to be here twenty minutes ago!” Bakugo was standing outside of Kirishima’s yelling at the pair of them as they walked up.. The kiss had inevitably turned into the pair of them making out in the front seat of his car. Todoroki had to force himself to stop though, because he knew where she was trying to take it judging by the fact she had tried climbing on him.. He hated that he had to stop it.
“We got caught up, stop yelling,” Todoroki smiled at Bakugo as they stepped onto Kirishima’s front porch. Bakugo pointed a finger at a bit of lipstick that Todoroki had forgotten to wipe off his neck.
“Nasty,” He smirked, earning a middle finger from his friend. (Y/N) just laughed, before reaching forward to pull down the collar of his shirt, revealing a few hickey’s along his collarbone.
“So that’s why you call Kirishima Sharky?” (Y/N) smirked, and Bakugo smacked her hand away. His cheeks turning bright red, it was his turn to flip them off. He sulked back inside, yelling to everybody that they had finally arrived.
Kirishima walked over happily, hugging his best friend, and shaking Todoroki’s hand. Ochaco let out an excited squeal and ran over to the pair, hugging her friends. The only person who seemed off was Midoriya, who would barely look at his two best friends. He was gentle when hugging (Y/N), shooting Todoroki a knowing look. Todoroki frowned, nodding his head. Trying to let his friend know that he knew what he needed to do. The rest of the time they were taking pictures felt forced, and everyone could feel the obvious tension between the “Three Musketeers”.
When they finally arrived at the dance, it only took a few songs before (Y/n) had Todoroki dancing. He hated it a little bit, but he enjoyed watching her smile.
Finally a slow song came on, and he couldn’t help but grin. It was a little embarrassing to admit, but he had been waiting to sway with her to some slow song. He wasn’t even sure what the song was, he just pulled his date in by her hips. Smiling brightly when her face instantly began to blush, but she was quick to connect her hands on the back of his neck. Her eyes darted around the room, embarrassed to make eye contact. Todoroki didn’t like that, so he placed his forehead against hers, gaining her full attention. When he pulled back a little bit he took in the entire moment, watching how her (y/e/c) eyes scanned his entire face.
“I am happy I agreed to tutor you,” (Y/n) whispered quietly, and the taller boy nodded his head slowly.
“I am happy I asked you to tutor me,” He whispered back, leaning down to kiss her gently. (Y/n) grabbed a few pieces of his hair at the bottom of his neck, pulling herself more into him. Todoroki broke away a little too soon for her liking, once again telling himself he had to stop before it went too far.
“I want to do this, you know that right?” She smirked up at him, and he just nodded his head. The song ended, and he needed to get away from this situation. The guilt began to fill his entire body.
“I am going to grab some punch, I will be right back okay?” Todoroki quickly walked away, towards the refreshment table. Kirishima was watching the pair of them, and kissed Bakugo’s cheek before going to dance with his best friend.
Todoroki watched Kirishima dramatically swing her arms around as they bounced to the song blaring through the speakers. Then everything began to move in slow motion. Kaminari had walked up the pair of them, smiling at them both. Then he began talking, and the two of them stopped smiling. He continued talking and Kirishima shot a look Todoroki's direction and then towards his boyfriend. (Y/n)’s entire body seemed to go ridgid, and she slowly turned to look at Todoroki. He dropped his cup when they made eye contact, her eyes beginning to fill with tears.
Kirishima dragged her away from the crowds of people. Bakugo looked towards Todoroki and they followed after the pair of them. Ochaco and Midoriya had been watching the entire scene, and they followed close behind. Todoroki was practically running through the halls, and found Kirishima and (Y/N) in the parking lot. Kirishima was helping her into his car. When he saw the group walking towards him he quickly walked up to Todoroki, and shoved him back.
“You piece of shit,” Kirishima screamed, and (Y/n) climbed out of the passenger seat of the car and walked up to the scene. Bakugo put his hand on his boyfriend’s chest, trying to stop him from going after Todoroki again.
“E, please don’t do this,” Kirishima smacked Bakugo’s hand off of him.
“You had something to do with this too!” Kirishima shouted, getting in Bakugo’s face, “Do you want to explain this fucking bet you had with him about MY friend?!”
Bakugo looked terrified. Usually he wouldn’t let anybody talk to him in that way, but he couldn’t even process what was happening. Kirishima had never yelled at him before.
“Kirishima can we please just go,” (Y/n) finally spoke up, her voice shaking. Todoroki looked back towards her, his heart breaking at the look on her face.
“(Y/N) please, just let me explain,” Todoroki pleaded, stepping forward. She looked back towards him, and shook her head.
“I don’t want to hear about your bet,” She whispered, her voice cracking completely, “You are exactly who I thought you were,”
“No, look listen, when Bakugo and I made that bet I never expected that you would actually be this way, I saw you as some annoying girl who hated me,” Todoroki was frantic trying to explain himself, “Now you’re somebody I can trust, somebody I want around, please I wouldn’t have told you the things I did on the way here if that weren’t the honest truth,”
“You are a liar!” She shouted, tears finally falling down her face. Midoriya rushed over to her, pulling her into a hug. Ochaco was confused by the entire scene, going to the other side of her boyfriend. Kirishima and Bakugo were staring at one another, Bakugo’s mouth cracking open slightly to begin speaking.
“Save it, you knew how much she meant to me, you knew who she was and you still let your best pal use her as some kind of game,” Kirishima growled, “I am done, with both of you.”
(Y/N) looked at Todoroki, tears still streaming down her face. Todoroki couldn’t do anything but stare back at her. Trying to find any of the words to say. (Y/n) shook her head slowly, and turned around to walk to the car. All he wanted to do was scream for her, yell anything to get her to stop. There was nothing he could say though, he had hurt her. This was the outcome he had deserved, and he should have seen it coming.
After all, he was his father’s child.
The Queen’s Lynchpin
We’re getting to part 3 of the ‘Successors of the Future”! This week has gone back to being hectic so I could only write this part here and there for only a few hours. Still, I’m happy that I could finally finish it.
And we have the names of MC’s and Yandere!Malleus children as well as his second wife and the other prince! Any piece of info from @tri3tri Second Wife AU is always fun to read! With that said, I’ll be adding their names into the 2 previous oneshots after this is posted so it’s all align. If you want to know more about this AU, please drop by at @tri3tri blog. Their content and drabbles are amazing!
Lastly, I think it’s alright if I don’t add the link and summary of the previous oneshots of this series in every new piece. The intro is just gonna be super long otherwise. But if you guys think that a link and summary it’s a good, please let me know I’ll be sure to add them in.
-
“Uh Mama? Have you been hearing... noises in the middle of the night?”
“You mean your sister talking to her mirror in her room in the dead of the night? Then yes, sweetie.”
MC smile, deeply amused, when her son let out a huge sigh of relief. “Oh, it’s just her talking to Ren.”
“I’ll tell her to keep it down if she’s talking to Renata at night, don’t worry.” MC assured him with a pat on his head.
“Thanks, Mama. Say, do you have any plans for today?” Lucien’s sudden question was a little odd to MC. The three of them have been staying in the house - only going out for a grocery run - lately, and she didn’t have any plans to change it.
“Not really. I was thinking to catch up with some leftover work from the office before Monday comes. Why? Do you want to go anywhere?” MC inquire curiously.
Lucien is quick to shake his head. “Oh, no, no. Umm... Mama, you often look so sad lately. We know that having Ren away at Twisted Wonderland has been hard on you, so I just thought maybe we could all do something to help make you feel better.” He explains with a bit of hesitance, wringing his hands. It’s clear to MC that this is one sensitive topic that he didn’t want to unintentionally hurt her with.
MC couldn’t help but smile at how thoughtful her little one is. Really, all of her children can be rowdy in their own way but at the end of the day, she always noticed that they tried so hard not to make her worry. But as the parent, it’s her honour to protect her children - not the other way around. Which is why seeing the hesitant expression on Lucien’s face tugs her heart.
“Oh, Luci. I didn’t mean to worry you and your sisters. It’s just that...” MC paused for a moment to think on how to properly express her feelings. “None of you has ever been separated from me. The issue with your father is one thing, but I can’t help but fret about your oldest sister. Is she eating well over there? Sleeping early on a school day? Oh, but then again, she does have a habit of waking up around 2 in the morning looking for a snack if she sleeps too early.” MC bit her lower lip, she should have told Renata during their last talk to keep some snacks in her room in case she gets hungry.
Ever since Renata had first contacted Sherrie and taught her the communication runes and she in return, taught her and Lucien on how to draw them on any mirror in the house, they all have been talking to Renata through the large, hanging mirror in the living room every day.
“We can ask her if she’s been waking up in the middle of night after our dinner, Mama.” Lucien assured their mother. He took her empty tea cup and pour some tea from the still hot pot and push the porcelain cup back to her. They were having tea and a light meal in the kitchen after he had woken up from his nap.
Sherrie passed on their invitation since she’s too busy livestreaming her latest game in her room. From below, they could hear her muffled voice.
MC took a sip and hums thoughtfully. “You’re right, Honey. I’ll be sure to do that. Anyway, you mentioned a family activity - what do you have in mind?” Perhaps a distraction is just what she needed to get her mind off Malleus and the inevitable danger he’ll bring.
Lucien’s eyes brighten in delight. Happy that he could do something to cheer her up.
“I found this recipe recently and I was hoping that we can all cook together? It’ll be fun I promise!” He pleaded. Among all her children, Lucien is the only one with the knack for cooking. Sherrie can make simple meals whenever she wants.
Renata, however, needs to be supervised even if she wants to boil a pot of water.
“Sure! I’d love to. So what’s this recipe you want to cook?”
Much later when it’s almost dinner time and Sherrie wrapped up her livestream, MC and Lucien are already in the kitchen preparing to cook. Curiously, she glances at the list of ingredients and steps for dinner that was left on the kitchen counter and her eyes bugged out at what they were going to make.
“I feel like there are things that mankind should never attempt lest the price be their sanity. And this? This is it!” Sherrie shrieked, flapping the flimsy paper incredulously at them. MC is preparing the dough while Lucien makes sure they got all the ingredients out and ready.
“What? Boba pizza sounds delicious!” Lucien rebuke with a small frown. “And beside, you won’t know if you like them if you haven’t try.”
Sherrie just slap her forehead at his words, as if she couldn’t believe this. “I know you’re pretty crazy for boba teas but this is ridiculous! Pizza dessert for dinner? Can’t we have something normal, Mama?” She pleaded their mother.
MC toss her a playful smile as she rolls the dough. “Well honey, it does sound pretty exciting when you said it. Pizza dessert!” When Sherrie’s face scrunched up in disgust, she tries to coax her daughter, “Aww, c’mon, honey. Look, you can order a delivery for yourself but come have fun with us! I’ll even let you toss the dough if you want.”
Sherrie folded after that. Honestly, making pizza - of any kind - is always messy process, but her children are having fun with smudges of powder on their faces and MC felt her heart lighten just hearing them laugh. Dinner might be unconventional tonight, but it was worth it to see Lucien enjoy eating his pizza and Sherrie reluctant admittance that it tasted alright, if a bit weird.
Once the kitchen is all cleaned up and their stomachs full, they settled in the living room. MC and Lucien watched as Sherrie used her old, red lipstick to draw the runes on the mirror. The surface rippled once, sinking the runes and reveal Renata in her pyjamas beaming at them.
“Good evening everyone! How are ya’ll doing?”
“Hi sweetie. We just had dinner.” MC said, glad that her eldest daughter still looks healthy and happy.
“You wouldn’t believe what we had for dinner.” Sherrie interjects dryly. The 3 of them are sitting on the couch with MC in the middle. “It’s so weird!”
“But you liked it!” Lucien countered with a smug grin before turning to his oldest sister. “We had boba pizza! It was amazing!”
“Boba pizza!? Nooo! I can’t believe you all ate them without me! I’ve been wanting to try them!” Renata whines. “I wish we can pass stuffs through the mirror. Wait - I might be able to do something about that actually.” She goes on to mutter about needing to bully the headmaster again.
The family traded what they did during the day, Renata assuring them that yes, she had a storage full of snacks in her room and that her favourite lesson so far is Flying class. Once that’s out of the way, MC asked her daughter, “How are your assignments? Is Leona-senpai’s son helping you out?”
When Renata told them that her History’s assignment partner is none other than Leona’s son, MC was a bit worried if he carries his father prejudice against Malleus towards her daughter, but Renata assured her that other than his funny attempts at posturing and warning growls, Bakari Kingscholar has been nothing but civil and helping out with researching and editing their papers.
“Yup! We’re nearly done with our homework and I think we’re friends now? He’s a bit of tsundere which makes teasing him so much fun!” Renata giggled. “You know, just today we decided to have lunch together after our assignment and when I went back to my room and check my bag, there was a candy bar inside. He must’ve slip it in when I told him that I snacked often.”
Sherrie immediately drop her phone. She was mindlessly browsing through her Twitter account while they talked, but her attention perk like a hound dog. “Whoa, whoa wait - he bought you food when you told him that you eat often? Me thinks he might like you, dude.”
MC’s eyes widen and Lucien gape. Could that be true!?
But Renata just rolled her eyes. “Oh please, I think he was thanking me for not making him do all the work. You know those tough guy acts? Yeah, it’s nothing special.”
Sherrie tilt her head, clearly not believing it, but keep it to herself for now.
“Being the only girl in a school for boys must be tough.” Lucien mused sympathetically. “I’m glad that you have a friend with you, Ren.”
“Well, Diasomnia students has mostly been friendly yet distant with me so far. Probably because of this,” Renata twirl her fingers beside her horns to emphasise her point. “But it’s cool. So far, no one tries to bully me or anything. And by the way, I’ve been staying out of trouble, Cherry. I haven’t even landed myself in detention so far.” She proudly announced.
“Yet.” Sherrie snickers.
Lucien frowns at her. “Ren has been working hard, Cherry. She’s been sticking to your plans, right? I seriously don’t think she will mess it up.”
“Nah, it’s all cool Luci. I’ve mostly been blowing off steam during Magishift. It’s super fun! I wish you guys could play too.” Renata said and then proceed to explain to her siblings what Magishift is all about.
That’s another thing that MC had picked up as Lucien grew up. Despite how close her daughters are, they do bickers as sisters tend to and Lucien usually act as the mediator and peacemaker between them when things get too heated.
MC couldn’t help wonder if her sweet boy would ever be like this if he was raised in Malleus’ castle.
The family talked a little more until it was getting late. After bidding each other goodnight and MC telling her daughter to keep herself safe, she ushered Lucien and Sherrie to their bed and tucked herself in.
That night, she dreamt of a past memory. However in her dream, all 3 of her children are laughing and free as they grow in her world.
-
Now that Lucien thinks about it - he doesn’t really know what Sherrie plan is exactly. He’s aware that they’re doing their best to help Renata avoid being discover by their father as long as they can and Mama told her to make friends with the children of her old friends since they helped her out a lot during her school life in Night Raven College but other than that? He doesn’t know what they would do once father found out about their oldest sister.
That particular though came back in his mind when he woke up from his sleep because he heard Sherrie giggling in her room. With blearily eyes, he checked the time on his phone and groan.
It’s 3.15 in the morning.
He push himself out of his warm bed with great difficulties and slowly padded towards Sherrie’s bedroom.
He knocked twice and groan, “Sherrie? It’s seriously late. Why aren’t you sleeping yet?”
“Shit, Luci-chan? Sorry, did I woke you up? You can come in if you want. The door is not locked.”
With a tired grumbled, he swings open the door and zombie-walk to her sister who is sitting in front of her vanity table, talking to Renata.
“Hey Luci! Sorry that we woke you up!” Renata apologised quickly, guilty that they’ve disturbed their little brother. “I was just reporting to Cherry that I found several hidden and unmarked paths that connects to father’s castle and to the outside world of the Valley of Thorns. I thought it might come in handy so I wanted to share it with her.”
That sounds interesting to Lucien. He’s a little more awake now. “Did you use your spells to scout the area?”
“I sure did! Haven’t been caught by anyone or any bat so far.”
“What... what does father’s castle look like?” Lucien couldn’t help but asked. It’s hard to believe that he and his family are actually royalty. That his Mama and sisters used to live in a castle.
It’s still hard to accept that he’s actually a prince.
“Gloomy.” Was Renata immediate reply. All her previous good humour vanishes and her hard glare surprises him. “We hardly get any sunshine because father controls the weather with his temper tantrums.”
“Not to mention that we had to live with basically strangers.” Sherrie added. “I never really feel comfortable around the castle’s staffs. Sure we got the family wing all to ourselves but we still had to deal with them.” Both Lucien and Renata understand her unspoken words: having to deal with judgemental strangers is difficult.
“What are you going to do once father founds out you’re in Twisted Wonderland, Ren? Are you going to go hiding?” Lucien asked.
It’s Sherrie who answered him, “No. We’re going to make sure that he can’t forcefully take Mama or any of us back to the castle. I just need a little more info and we can act once the 3 of us are in Twisted Wonderland.” She explains.
“We suspect that once Cherry hits sixteen, the Ebony Carriage will also pick her up and by that time I’ll be in my second year as a student here. If that’s the case, we just need you here and then it’s the second phase.” Renata took over explaining here. “Rumours spread fast in Night Raven College, but it’s not going to reach to father. He’s in an isolated country. Well, not until he’s here.”
Lucien blink, now lost. “He? Who’s he?”
“We have a halfbrother - Victor. He’s the same age as you, Luci-chan. Looks like father didn’t waste any time getting his second wife pregnant.” Sherrie said with a smile that honestly send cold shivers up his spine. It’s sweet with a poison laced underneath. Lucien seen this smile only once. A girl from school tried to blackmailed and bullied her into doing her biddings.
He heard that the girl was transferred to another school in a different state soon after when news broke out that she was selling drugs with her boyfriend to the students.
Lucien would like to believe that the incident had nothing to with his sister, but he’s seen what she does for Renata whenever she lost her homework or to the English Literature teacher that had an issue with her.
So Lucien needed to asks this. “Are you... are you going to hurt him?” His voice is soft and careful.
Through the mirror, Renata eyed Sherrie in which his second sister leans into her chair and relaxes. “I won’t, don’t worry. After all, he’s not at fault.”
Words are Sherrie’s favourite playthings and at that moment, Lucien hopes she means it.
-
Funny enough, I’ve been calling S/N (Lucien) as Luciel because it means light and I HC that MC sees him as the unexpected light that Malleus gave her. Her daughters are a treasure but Lucien serve as MC’s light. It’s fate!
So far for Lucien, my main reference for him are two people actually. Dead Master from Black Rock Shooter and Nisha Labyrinth from Elsword!
Will expand more on them as I continue to write. Also, I’m shit when it comes to timeline and ages so here’s my rough idea so far:
Renata = 16 years old (first-year student)
Sherrie = 15 years old
Lucien = 13 yeard old
I’ll change the kids’ age if Tri reveal them on their blog.
okay some things have been outstandingly stressful and hard to deal with but here's a list of good stuff that's happened:
finally got a set of keys to the radio station (i don't have to deal with the lockbox anymore! i just have my own set of keys!)
my mother is signing the car over to me and is actually helping pay for the registration stuff
i've hired 4/5 positions for work and have a meeting set for friday to work on finding that last person (and so far everyone we have hired has been my first pick for the role!)
i leave for field school in just over 2 weeks! mutuals if i had your addresses i would send post cards. but i will love and miss you regardless
my best friend just changed their name! and i liked their old name but the new one is actually one of my favorite names so that's super exciting for them, plus its a good name!
ive finally signed a new lease so i can move in on july 31 and not have to pay any august rent for my current (mold-filled) place
ive listed out all the dates of when i contacted maintenance with issues, and am having help writing a letter explaining that my current property managers broke the terms of my lease first, so i can give them that when i give notice of me vacating the apartment
i got 2 wood and leather chairs (for free!!) 2 days ago and have dyed the leather and will borrow my dad's sander this weekend to sand and re-stain the wood. chairs like this usually go for $250-ish each, but i got the chairs for free and already owned leather dye, so all they are costing is the cost of the sandpaper and stain!
my boss mailed me a book about fly fishing and religion she thinks i will really like, and i've started reading it and i enjoy it
i have a concert tonight! i always love going to shows and i'm stoked to see this band (also knock on wood that i get the parking i want... it's a wednesday night and i know the area so i think i know where i can park for free near the venue (its a 2 hour bus ride so i drive lol))
i just need to keep remembering my classes for fall!! i managed to weasel my way into 2 graduate courses, as well as 2 undergrad courses + a cool lab!
people have been really digging my radio show lately - i keep getting callers in the booth + messages from people i actually know that they love what i've been playing, which is super validating
there's just been a lot of difficult shit lately (and my knee is hurting so bad today) but i'm really forcing myself to focus on all this good stuff
#tree talks#im still anxious and stressed and in pain#but theres good shit too. this is all super good
Heart Watch
“So y/n, how have you been feeling? Any issues with your heart or any episodes?” Doctor Cho asked.
“Feeling good. No issues at all. Actually feeling pretty good.” You reply. You knew these checkups were necessary but you always dreaded them. Worried that they might find something else or that a test would come back abnormal.
“Sweet, that’s good to hear. Well the blood work came back good and your heart sounds strong. This is one of the best exams you’ve had. Any idea what’s different this time around?” She joked knowing exactly what the difference was.
“Don’t know doc, might have something to do a certain super soldier who won’t stop reminding me every day, twice a day to take my meds.” You said. Ever since you’d told Bucky about your heart condition, he’d taken it upon himself to learn everything he could about the conditions. He’d already learned all about your medications and researched the signs to look for in case you had another episode. He reminded you of your meds every 12 hours either in person or via text. If wasn’t able to text, he’d have Friday contact you. It was sweet, you knew it was, but sometimes you felt smothered.
“Sounds romantic. He cares.” She replies.
“He just better be glad he’s cute.” You get up and start getting dressed. “So doc, I wanted to ask you something. What do you think about me having a baby?” You couldn’t look at her. You knew the answer but asked anyway.
“I think you better be joking. Y/n, you know that’s not a good idea. You know that birthing a baby would be extremely hard on your heart and potential fatal. I want you to put that notion out of your mind. There are other options to be a mother.” She explained.
“I know. I just wanted to check and see if anything had changed. You know modern medicine and advances and all.” You said trying to hide the disappointment.
“Hey, its okay. When the time comes that you want a baby we’ll figure it out.” She patted you on the shoulder. “I’ll leave you to get dressed and I’ll see you at the party tonight?”
“I’ll be there. Thanks.” You tried your best to smile and not show the pain in your heart. Not a physical pain, but the pain of knowing you’d never have a baby of your own. You and Bucky hadn’t talked about kids but you knew he loved him and figured that at some point the topic would come up.
Later that night you were getting ready for Morgan’s birthday party. You had been looking forward to it all week. Morgan was adorable and she adored you. You both loved Barbies and fashion and you had at last one pretend fashion show a month when you watched her so Tony and Pepper could go out.
“Hey baby.” Bucky called from the living room. He had just gotten back from a mission.
“In the bedroom!” You answered.
“Oh my god baby are you a sight for sore eyes.” He entered the room and came over and kissed you. “I’d give you a proper hello and hug but I need a shower in a bad way. Give me a few and I’ll be ready and we’ll go to the party together okay?”
“Sounds good. I’ll finish getting ready and make sure all her presents are ready.” You said as you grabbed your most confortable heels. Morgan was expecting everyone to come dressed like they were in a fashion show, so you weren’t going to disappoint. You heard the shower turn on and decided you’d help Bucky out and lay out his clothes for the party. Once that was done, you made your way into the living room and gathered up all the presents and put them into a stack so that Bucky could carry them.
Bucky entered the room and you smiled. “Well hello there handsome.”
“Well hello there gorgeous.” He made his way over to you. “How about giving me a proper hello now?”
Making your way into his arms, you wrapped your arms around his neck and kissed him.
“How did your appointment go today?” He asked holding you tight.
“Good. My labs were all good, my heart sounded really good. She actually said that this was the best visit I’d had, maybe in forever.” You answered.
“Baby! Thats wonderful.” He pulled your face up for another kiss. “That makes me so happy. I was worried, but this is great.”
“Yeah, no getting the big head but she thinks maybe that I’m taking my meds on a regular basis, could have something to do with it.” You smile.
“Oh yeah?” Bucky couldn’t keep the smile off his face. “Speaking of which, I have a present for you.”
“I love presents!” You exclaimed.
“I know my girl does. I had Tony and Bruce help me make something special just for you.” Reaching into his backpack on the couch he pulled out a square box and handed it to you.
Taking the box, you sit down on the couch and open the lid. Inside is a watch. Not just any watch, this watch looked dressy, but also like it had AI behind it.
“Its beautiful.” You looked up at Bucky and he sits down next to you.
“It monitors your heart rate and transmits the data back to the app on your phone. It will also take an EKG and do all your other vitals. And it might also remind you to take your medicine.” He laughed at the last part.
You were touched you really were, he cared so much for you. You pulled him over to you and kissed him. “I love it. Thank you for always making sure I’m okay and taken care of.” You knew that an Apple Watch would have done the same thing, but you figured this was an Apple Watch on steroids.
“You’re welcome baby. Gotta make sure my best girl stays healthy.” He took the watch and placed it on your arm. “There. Oh here’s the other one.” He hands you a second box.
“Another watch?” You asked wondering why there were two.
“Yeah.”
“Why do I need two?” You opened the box to find the same exact watch just with a different band.
“Well you’ll have to have one to wear while the other is charging.” Bucky explained.
“Baby, it won’t take the long for it to charge. A few minutes without the watch won’t hurt anything.” You explained.
“I know, but with two we won’t have to worry about what if something happens in those few minutes.”
“You mean, you won’t have to worry.” You laughed.
Bucky started to pout and you felt bad about teasing him. “I’m sorry baby. It’s so thoughtful of you. Thank you. I promise to always have one of them on.” You kissed him.
“Thank you baby. Now let’s go spoil Miss Morgan with all these presents.” He stood and picked up the packages and you opened the door.
You both made your way down the hallway not knowing that tonight would be the start of the hardest and most difficult time of your relationship.
hey, I’m back
MASTERLIST
—pairing: Jeno x reader
—genre: father! au/ romance/ idol! jeno/ dad! jeno/ angst (really slightly)/ ex to lovers?/secret relationship
—words count: 5.1k
—warnings: mentios of abortion/single parent
author’s note: Jeno’s reaction at the beginning of this is obviously fictional, this is just for entertainment, not saying that he would react likes this in real life. Enjoy!
REQUESTS ARE: OPEN
please go to the ask box to send your requests, opinion or questions♡ you can interact as much as you want, i love talking lol
Jeno and you have been in a secret relationship for two years now. At the beginning it felt crazy and unreal for you to even go on a date with and idol, Jeno is really well known and people can recognize him everywhere anytime, even though of that your love was so strong and beautiful that you wouldn’t choose anyone else to be in love with and to experience this.
Jeno is one the most amazing people that you’ve met in your life, he is so loving, caring, he makes you feel safe, he knows how to take care of you, he makes you happy, he makes you feel safe, you can’t imagine your life without him, he is the best that has happened to you.
Of course dating an idol in secret wasn’t a complete fairytale, but you don’t regret anything and you don’t get tired because you have him, and he is the best.
Two weeks ago you started feeling sick, your stomach felt like it was going in circles, you felt constantly nauseous, you couldn’t eat or smell a lot of things because it felt weird, you would feel dizzy out of nowhere, you really didn’t know what was going on. At the begging you thought it was the flu but after a week you started to get worried.
You decide to go to the doctor and see if you are having some problems with your digestive system or something. He starts with an echocardiogram that let’s him see if there’s anything wrong.
“Miss, I think I can see what’s going on.” He says while looking at the machine.
“Really? great! Tell me, I really want to get better.” You say kinda excited because you just want to get back to normal.
“Miss Y/L/N, congratulations, you are pregnant.” He says excited.
You stare at him with a blank shocked expression in your face. You don’t even know what you are feeling right, what are you supposed to do? how should you react? you have never been a mother, what is happening?
“Well, everything looks good, you and the baby are really healthy. Everything that you are feeling is completely normal either way I will recommend you to go see a gynecologist and they will help you with anything. Once again, congrats.” He says all of that like in 10 seconds and everything is happening so fast that you brain can assimilate how to react at all.
You get out of the doctor’s office and drive straight at home. During the whole ride and while staring at the ceiling in bed all you could think about was ‘how were you going to tell Jeno?’, wow you really messed up. Jeno is an idol, everyone knows that whatever an idol does becomes an scandal, and an young idol, from a big company, super popular, in a secret relationship of two years, is not married and his girlfriend is pregnant is definitely something that would affect him hard!
You aren’t sure if you should cry or what, genuinely you wanted to have this baby, yes, you are going to collage, you are young, but wouldn’t feel bad about being a mother right now, also the thought of having a baby with Jeno doesn’t sound wrong for you. You have thought about having a family with him countless times, Jeno is the kindest and most caring people, he would be an amazing dad and also he loves kids.
It would be a dream to have a family with someone who you love as much a Jeno, but everything depends on how is he going to react, you believe in him and you believe that he would do anything to make you happy.
You sit and look at him in the eyes. “Jeno, I need to tell you something.” You say with a serious tone, trying to contain yourself.
You sit and look at him in the eyes. “Jeno, I need to tell you something.” You say with a serious tone, trying to contain yourself.
You sit and look at him in the eyes. “Jeno, I need to tell you something.” You say with a serious tone, trying to contain yourself.
“Okay, what’s going on?” Jeno sounds worried.
“I’m pregnant.” You finally let this let out, feeling better and much relaxed.
“What? Are you kidding.” Jeno says with a confused yet frustrated look on his face.
“No, I was feeling bad for two weeks so I decided to go to the doctor, and he checked me and turns out I was pregnant, but I didn’t knew how to tell you, but know i’m here telling.” You say this so fast, with a mix of emotions, most of these being fear and excitement. You let smirk out of your lips, because you were actually feeling happy of telling this to your boyfriend.
“Y/n, no, we can’t.” Jeno says looking away from you with a serious tone.
“W-what do you mean?” You feel the tears form in your eyes.
“Y/n, you can’t have this baby, you know how much this would affect me and my job? what if they make me leave the group and the company!?” Jeno sounds so frustrated, you have never seen him like this and it’s starting to break your heart.
“Jeno, but we can find a solution, maybe we can get married and have it in secret until a couple of years pass, people have done it before so can we.” You say while getting up and trying to reach him.
“NO!” He says as soon as you finish talking. “Y/n, I’m 24 and you are 22; we just simply can, that isn’t gonna work.” He says placing his hands in his hips and having a serious look on his face.
“Jeno, but please, let’s try.” You are now crying, feeling so much pain by what you are hearing him say.
“Y/n, we need to get rid of this baby.” He finally says looking down.
You start crying, you feel you knees getting weaker and you sit on the couch again letting all the sadness get out through your tears.
“I’m not going to. I’m sorry Jeno but this is my baby too and I want to have it!.” You say firm drying your tears.
Jeno looks at you with disappointment. “Y/n, but please understand.” He sits next to you and holds your hands.
“You know I love you but we can’t do this now.” He stares at your eyes, while you avoid eye contact.
“Okay, i’ll think about it, I just need to calm down.” You fake to agree, but you already made your decision, you were going to have this baby with or without Jeno, even if it hurt you so much.
Jeno leaves your place and you acted normal, but right after that all you did was cry the while night. You packed your bags, quickly called your parents and explained all to them, same with your best friend Rina, they ended up supporting you and told you they would help as much a they could.
You booked your flight to England that night, you had a couple of friends there who offered to move multiple times and you were finally agreeing, you were leaving at 6am the next day. You deactivated every social media that Jeno had of yours for now, until you felt like coming back. It was really hard for you to do this but there wasn’t going to be other way to do it, if you stayed and had the baby it was gonna a big issue to Jeno and you loved, you didn’t want him to go through that, he broke your heart tonight, but you still lived him and that wasn’t gonna change.
Jeno’s pov
It was already 6pm and he hasn’t heard anything from y/n, she usually gets out of work around 4pm and it’s constantly texting Jeno but, what happened today?. ‘Was it because of what happened last night?’ Jeno thought, yesterday was really stressing for him, it would be crazy if he has a baby right now right on the highest of his career.
He starts panicking and calls Y/n multiple times but it doesn’t even ring saying that the number is out of service, he checks and you are gone from every social media. He proceeds to call your friend Rina who finally tells him that you are gone, that she doesn’t know where you went. He hangs up immediately at feels frustrated at himself, for being so stupid and letting you go, he could have find a solution and have you here but he choose wrong and now he lost you.
He thought about Y/n every time, everyday, wondering how you looked, how you felt, how you were doing, and how lost he felt without you. He wasn’t able to start going on dates after two years passed, but she was still going through his mind frequently. He had to accept that you left and that you weren’t going to comeback but it’s hard.
5 years later...
Jeno went to the park for a rum, he usually comes a couple times a week at 8am, it’s the perfect timing because this early in the morning the only people around are elders, people with dogs and people training, every other person it’s at school or working, so no one would focus on if he is an idol or not. After 30 mins running he decides to sit on a bench to rest before walking back to bis car and go back home. While in here he can admire the plants, trees and flowers that are in the park, the view to the Han River and breath the fresh air.
He keep enjoying the view when he sees a ball flying right next to the bench he is sitting, he get startled and starts looking everywhere to see who could be looking for the ball. While he keeps watching this little kid around 4-5? years old comes running towards him.
“Hi sir, have you seen my ball?” The little kids saya in a broken korean and keeping the word ‘ball’ in english.
He faces the kid and gets completely shocked, feeling shivers running all around his body. The kid standing in front of him looks exactly like him, all he sees is the 5 year old Jeno that filmed all of those commercials and did all of those publicity campaigns. He keeps blinking, trying to go back to reality and figure out if he is dreaming or not.
“Oh, here it is.” The kid says pick up the ball located next to Jeno’s bench.
“Daniel, I told you to stay next to me!” A familiar voice Jeno hears, and he sees a hand holding the kid.
He looks up and looks at the owner of the voice, and it’s her, it’s y/n, the only girl that he has considered the love of his life, probably the best woman he has ever dated, also the one that he let go and didn’t treat right that one night.
“Y/n?” Jeno says confused, with a knot forming on his throat.
You hear his voice and immediately recognize it, you feel you heart pounding really fast, you feel your hands sweet, and feel like you are about to throw up, also controlling your eyes so they won’t form any tears.
“Uhm, hi, jeno.” You say in the calmest tone you can, looking at the man that you have loved the most and that also hurt you the most, but was never able to erase from your memory, and your heart.
Jeno stands up quickly with his eyes wide open. “So, how have you been, what are you doing here?” You could feel the nervous in his voice.
“Oh, I decided to come back, Rina’s family offered me a really good job here and I couldn’t say no.” You have never felt so uncomfortable ever, while in a conversation. You try to avoid eye contact and pray that you can leave soon.
“Mommy, who is he?” Your 5 year old asks in a innocent way.
‘Mommy’!? Jeno thinks, is this his baby? is this his child? the one that he told you not to have?. Jeno could feel his heart flinch, and go all over the place, his knees get weaker and some way he feels dizzy too. He tries to recover and get back on his senses.
“Yes baby, he is an old friend.” You smile at your son and pat his head. “Oh, okay.” Your son answers and thank god that he didn’t do more questions because he tends to talk a lot.
“Y/n, I think we need to talk.” Jeno says in a serious tone. You swallow and take a deep breath.
“Talk about what?” You say trying to sound calm. Jeno looks at you with a intense gaze and points at your child with his head.
“What? why? I have nothing to tell you.”You start getting frustrated but try not to take ir further.
“Y/n, this child looks exactly like me, I think we definitely need to talk.” Jeno says almost whispering, so your son can’t hear him.
“Jeno no, I don’t want to. Don’t you remember when you told me not to have him, you made it really clear, we won’t bother you.” You say in a low tone but still mad because obviously what Jeno made you feel is something that you’re never going to forget.
“Daniel, let’s go.” Your kid looks at you and you gran his hand but Jeno holds your arm and stops you.
“Y/n please, it’s been years, I really want to talk and clear things up, please.” You can feel the sincerity in his eyes that are staring directly at you.
“You can come to my apartment, he can order something to eat and we can talk in peace.” He says. You look at him and sigh.
“Okay, it’s okay.” You tell him
“Great, give me your number and i’ll text you.” You hand him your phone and saves his numbers.
“We will be free tomorrow around 4pm, does that work for you?” You ask him.
“Yes perfect, i’ll see you them.” He smiles, and for the first time in 5 years you finally see again that smile that used to make your day better ams your heart flutter.
“Bye.” You say giving a soft smile.
“Bye, sir.” Your son says while holding your hand and leaving that spot.
Y/n’s pov
When you saw Jeno at time, out of nowhere, never wondering you would find him there. When you saw that your son was standing next to him you were about to faint right there, but a bigger force gave you the strength not to. You fought so hard not to think about Jeno and to get over him for years, but you just simply couldn’t, also the fact that your baby looked just like him, the same eye shale, the same eye smile, laugh, face, everything was just like him, didn’t help either
you definitely didn’t knew how to react when Jeno said he wanted to talk to you, that’s when you remembered everything that happened and how you literally ran away to raise this baby by yourself, your mother instinct came out, you are definitely not ready to have this conversation, you don’t even know if you are ready to let Jeno get into Daniel’s life, but when Jeno asked you, you could see the sincerity in his eyes and you had no option but to say yes.
You think about how are you gonna be able to have this conversation with Jeno once you get to his apartment, the feelings for him haven’t disappeared and the thoughts of him being a dad makes you even happier but you don’t want to dream to much and just wait until you finally met.
Jeno’s pov
Seeing y/n after years and knowing that things didn’t ens up well, just makes him so upset and frustrated. His mind and his heart are a mess right now, when he saw this kid that looked exactly like him and them finding out his mother was y/n, how was he supposed feel. Then coming back to his apartment and realizing that from the time that y/n was pregnant until now everything fits, that kid is his son, a son that he didn’t wanted to have years.
He lays in bed and tries to organize himself, after seeing that small child, so pretty, with the same face features that him, made him feel so touch, also the fact that it has a part of him and a part of y/n, isn’t that kid the best thing ever? He keeps thinking about that one night and how much he regrets everything he said and letting y/n go, but was so young back then, he didn’t knew what to do or how to react, but now he feels like doing the right thing.
Y/n is finally back in the city and back in his life, with his son, he definitely wants to be part of his life, everyone knows that growing up without a parent is hard, and Jeno really wants the best for him, Jeno really loves kids, and always loved the idea of having a family but right when y/n told him she was pregnant he didn’t knew what to do, he wasn’t ready. Now he is ready to fix things up, for the love of his life and his son.
He spent the rest of the day, noon and even the middle of the night thinking about all, he wasn’t able to sleep even a bit at night.
the next day...
Jeno’s pov
He went to the gym to release some stress, he was feeling so nervous about today. He wasn’t even able to eat well, watch tv, or do anything, he would just stare at his phone every 2 minutes to see what time it was.
He cleaned the apartment, went to the grocery store and got of all your favorite drinks and snacks, and things that probably a kid would like, he even went to to a toy shop to get a couple of gifts for his son? ‘is that how i should call him?’ he thought. He studied menus from restaurants so when you were hungry he would already know what to order.
He was planning for everything to be perfect and be able to spend a nice evening.
Y/n’s pov
You woke up really tired, you could barely sleep last night so now your head and your whole body hurts. The day passed and all you felt were constant nauseas, you still loved Jeno so much but you have to accept what happened and move on, you don’t even know if he is even dating someone.
You tried to calm down but now you find yourself pulling out your whole closet to figure out what to wear, it’s crazy to see yourself like this, you are always so cool, but today is different.
You call Jeno and let him know that you were almost there. You inhale and exhale multiple times to calm yourself down. Finally you arrive at find you and your son in front of Jeno’s apartment door. You knock and a seconds the door opens showing the guy with the beautiful eye smile, you felt like your eyes were transforming into heart shapes.
“Hi, welcome to my house.” He says smiling brightly hiding his nerves with his smile.
You smile back and proceed to enter with your cute son. A couple of hours passed and you’ve just have chatted about the most boring things ever, constantly trying to avoid eye contact and feeling the big awkwardness between you two.
“You know? I’m actually hungry, we should order now.” You say
“Oh yeah, sure. I found this chicken restaurant and it also has a menu for kids, is that okay.” He says while standing up and looking for the phone.
“Yes, perfect.” You give him a soft smile. You feel you heart pound fast, the fact that he looked for a place that has a kids menu already made you happy, you really need to calm down, you came to have a serious talk and we don’t even know if it’s gonna end up well.
The food arrives and you eat in silence, just making comments about the food and looking at Daniel who is really enjoying watching tv while eating chicken, which was one of his favorite food.
“Daniel! I actually have a couple of gifts for you.” Jeno leaves to his room and comes back revealing the items behind his back.
“Cha chan!” He shows a big car toy and a really big dog teddy.
Daniel’s eyes open in shook and smiles, he runs to the toys and hugs them.
“Thank you Sir Jeno.” He says with a big smile.
You are all done eating and after a while of playing with his toys Daniel starts yawning.
“Honey, are you sleepy?” You say caressing your son’s cheek.
“Yeah, I want to sleep.”He says yawning again.
“Maybe we should go.” You look at Jeno.
“Oh no, but he can sleep in my room. You know? so we can talk.” Jeno says with a little of nerves in his voice.
“Well, Umh, yes. Let’s do that.” You don’t try to go against it because you know you need to have this talk. You walk your som to Jeno’s room and a couple of minutes later he is already asleep.
You go back to the living room and sit in the couch, next to Jeno.
“So, why are you back in town?” Jeno takes a sip of his drinks.
“Well, like I told you before Rina’s family actually have been insisting me to come back and now they offered me a job here, and honestly I wanted to come back, I had lot of friends here and I missed them, also I love the city, so I thought it was time to come back.” You give him a soft smile.
“Oh that’s great, and how’s the job?” He asks.
“It’s great, i’m actually one of the managers, and they let me take some work home so I don’t have to go to the office everyday, and I can spend more time with Daniel.” You smile remembering how much you love your little boy.
“So now, where were you living?” He says with a more serious tone.
“I was living in England, I met a couple of friends from there in high school and they always told me to move and talked to me about the scholarships, so I went there.” You leave a sigh.
“And how did you manage to study and take care of the baby?” He asks.
“I studied until I gave birth, then I took a break for 6 months and maintained us with money I saved, what my friends helped me with and the money that my parents sent me.” You take a sip of your drink.
“And who helped you take of the baby?”He looks at you.
“My mom stayed for a couple of months, later my friend’s mom offered me to take care of him and she ended up doing for all of these years.” You smile remembering how grateful you were with all the people who helped you so much.
“Wow you really went through a lot.” He looks at the floor and touches his head.
“Yep.” You say in an awkward way.
“I’m sorry. I’m really sorry that you had to go through all of that by yourself. I was such an idiot for not taking care of you and the baby, knowing that I was capable of keeping comfortable and safe. Y/n, I’m really really sorry for everything. I know I told you to get rid of the baby but I was stupid.” Jeno closes his eyes and takes his head im between his hands.
“Jeno, I know.” You say trying to make him feel calm.
“No, Y/n, I was so blind and I was scared. I didn’t even try to help you and the find a solution I didn’t do anything.” You hear Jeno’s voice break and your heart starts to beat fast.
“Hey, I know that you are being honest, I forgive you. I’m not gonna tell you I didn’t felt bad, you broke my heart and made me sad, and of course, the whole pregnancy and those 5 years haven’t been easy at all. But I appreciate that you are now talking about this with me, really.” You pat his back while smiling.
“Thank you, Y/n.” He stares at your eyes.
“It’s okay.” You smile.
“Now, I wanted to tell you something else.” He says.
“Yeah, tell me.” You say positioning yourself on the couch.
“You are Daniel’s mom, and you are the only parental figure he’s had and I have to respect that. I was really thinking hard about this and I want to be part of his life, I want to be his dad, I’m here, I’m present, I can help you with all the expenses I don’t care. I can take care of him, I’ll anything I should do as a dad if you let me be part of his life.” He says practically begging.
This really made you think, you’ve never had anyone to be part of Daniel’s life like this. You are the only one he had since day one, it was so delicate for you to take a decision like this. You don’t care about anything in the world but your son, you would end up sad if Jeno ever leaves him, so this wasn’t a easy choice to make.
“Wow, that was unexpected.” You give an awkward laugh.
“Yeah, I know, I know it’s hard but believes me, i’ll do anything.” Jeno takes your hands and stares right into your eyes.
“Okay.” You say
“Okay? like it’s okay? are you gonna let me?” He sounds excited.
“Yes, but please promise you’ll be with him no matter what, this isn’t a game, if you make him sad and gonna be furious.” You say in a serious tone.
“No, no, of course i’ll do the best for him.” He smiles.
“But wait, how are you gonna say in public that you have a 5 year old son?” You say nervous.
“Y/n, I’m 29, i’ll find the way and I don’t care what people have to say, this is my child not theirs.” You heart jumps everywhere when you hear him say that, making you flutter.
You spend the rest of the night chatting and catching up.
“And are you dating anyone?” Jeno says shy.
“A young mom, with a kid? I’ve just gone on dates, maybe some kissing and something else but nothing more, it doesn’t even happen that much. Men won’t commit to raising a child.” You take a sip of your drink. Jeno realizes how every aspect of your life has been so hard.
“What about you?” You look at the tv.
“Oh, not much either. After you left I didn’t go on dates for two years, after that just datings but nothing serious.” He says.
“Oh cool, so we are the same.” You laugh.
“Yes, I guess.” He laughs back
“But tell me.” He says taking your attention.
“Yes?” You answer.
“What’s gonna happen between you and I, aren’t mommy and daddy supposed to be together?” He leans closer to your face and you look at him in shook.
“Because I have never stopped thinking about you.” He stare at your eyes.
“Yes, I guess we could try.” You say playfully.
He grabs your waist and connects your lips together. His lips feel so soft and warm, you taste heaven when you kiss him. You have been waiting for this moment for so long and it’s finally happening. You are so thankful that Jeno decided to talk to you, you have always love him so much and now you know it’s the same for him too.
1 year later
It’s been a year since you let Jeno enter Daniel’s and you life’s. Honestly it’s the beat decision you’ve ever made, he is the most caring, loving and supportive dad ever. He surprises you everyday on how great of a dad he is to Daniel, and when it comes to Daniel, it just took him a week to start trusting Jeno fully and after a mont he was already calling him daddy. You are so thankful for having the two boys the you love the most in your life together.
“Mommy! Daddy! let’s go to the playground.” Your son says.
“Okay honey, but don’t run so fast.” You tell him.
You sit on a bench and look at your kid who is playing happily.
“He has grown a lot in just a year hasn’t he?” Jeno says placing his arm around your shoulder.
“Yes, he is so big now.” You say feeling nostalgic.
“And as beautiful as his dad.” Jeno says while winking.
“Idiot.” You laugh and give him a peck on the lips.
“I can’t wait until we make another one.” He giggles his eyebrows and laughs. You laugh back and give him another kiss.
“Daddy! stop kissing, come play with me.” You cute 6 year old says while standing his hand to his dad.
“I’m coming champ.” He gets up and kiss your lips once again again, to what your so makes a disgusting face. You both laugh and you watch him hold your son’s hand.
They start playing with the ball and you look at them filled with joy and loved, you look at you hand and admire the beautiful engagement ring that Jeno gave you 3 months ago. The proposal was simple but beautiful, you were walking around Jeju Island when out of nowhere he asked you to marry him and you obviously said yes. The plans for the wedding have been going well, you are taking things slow so you can have time. Daniel is the most excited about the wedding and always wants to be involved in everything. You are so thankful that everything has been going
so well, Jeno and Daniel have the most beautiful bond ever and you are lucky to have the most caring dad to your kid and future husband on your side.
After Derry, after the hospital, after almost a year of recovery and fighting with his mother every day multiple times a day about seeing Richie, Eddie has had enough.
“Ma, I’m leaving,” Eddie says quietly to the mirror in the cramped bathroom he’d shared with her since he was a late teen. He clears his throat. “Ma, now don’t get— Please don’t get—” Pause. “Ma, I’m forty-one years old. It is well past time I moved out and—” He groans.
This is a disaster. He knows she’s going to see right through him, she’s going to know this is because of Richie.
And she’s not entirely wrong. To be fair though, he knows he’s not doing it for Richie, but Richie is a huge motivating factor to get out from his mother’s thumb. All Eddie really wants right now is to be with his love, and he knows his mother is going to have issues with it, but he can’t live for her any more.
Eddie opens his mouth to rehearse some more when Sonia knocks on the door and Eddie lets out a little shriek.
“Eddie, darling, are you alright?” She calls through the door.
“I’m fine, ma.” He flushes the toilet and washes his hands as she tries to delay the inevitable.
“Well, hurry up, your supper’s getting cold.”
When he opens the door, she is still standing there, waiting.
“Ma, what are you doing? Let’s go eat.” He takes her elbow and guides her down the stairs just the way she likes. Pot roast is waiting for them in the dining room, and as Eddie helps push in Sonia’s chair, he can’t help but wonder if this is going to be the last meal of hers he’s ever going to eat.
He sits down across from her and waits for her to dish him up some food. They talk quietly through dinner, but it’s all haze. Eddie forgets what he’s saying almost as soon as the words leave his mouth.
Half an hour later, Sonia clucks at him. “Eddie, dear, you’ve barely touched your food. Are you sure you’re feeling alright?”
“I’m fine, just not really hungry.” He takes a deep breath. “Actually, ma, there is something I wanted to talk to you about.”
“Oh? And what’s that?”
Just do it. Just say it. You can do this. You killed an alien, you can do this, Eddie tells himself.
“Ma,” he starts and stops. “Ma, first of all, I just want to tell you that I love you very much.”
“I love you, too, Eddie.” She frowns at him and he has to look away.
“Ma, I— I’m moving out.”
“Moving out? Don’t be ridiculous, Eddie, dear. Where do you think you can go? Your home is here with me.”
“Ma, I’m forty-one. I’m a— I’m—” He swallows hard. He can’t quite make himself say, I’m a forty-one year old gay virgin, so instead he says, “Richie has a spare room. I’m going to move in with him.” He doesn't tell her he’s not going to stay in the guest room.
“With Richie? Richie Tozier?” She shrieks. “That vile little boy grew up to be a vile man. You can’t. I won’t allow it.”
“I’m not asking for your permission, ma, I’m telling you what’s going to happen.”
Sonia looks at him in disbelief. “Edward Kaspbrak, how dare you talk to me like this. I can’t believe what you are saying. You can't leave me like this. You need me, Eddie.”
“No, ma, you need me. And I can’t do it any more. I’m sorry, but I can’t— I can’t be your excuse to not be happy any more.”
Glowering, Sonia asks, “And just what is that supposed to mean?”
“It means that you never gave yourself a chance to be happy after pop died because you were afraid of getting hurt again. You— You put all your energy and attention into me. I was your whole world so you didn’t have to go find a new husband, a new life. You were afraid and you made me afraid, and I don’t want to be afraid anymore.”
Sonia blinks. “I never once stopped you from— from having a life. You were always allowed to have a relationship. You were the one who broke up with Myra.”
“Ma, that’s not— I don’t—” He sighs. “Don’t make me say it.”
“Say what, Eddie? Explain it to me. Explain to me why you are abandoning your dear old mother. Your mother who took care of you your whole life through. I never asked for anything, never wanted anything in return, and this is the thanks I get?”
“Ma, just— I’m leaving, ok? I’m leaving tonight and—”
“Oh, Eddie, just tell me why. I’d understand if- if it was for a girl, maybe, but that nasty man—”
“Richie’s not nasty, ma, he’s wonderful. You just don’t like him because he treats me better than you.”
“He’s dirty!”
“He’s not!
“He’ll get you into trouble. Trouble like before. You really think—”
“Think he’ll take care of me if I have another accident? Yes, he will. He hardly left my side. He was there when I needed him in the middle of the night. He paid for your room, too, and you never really thanked him.” Sonia makes a small move noise of disapproval. “Look, ma. He moved here. He moved here after I got out of the hospital. He’s— He—” He shakes his head a little. “There’s nothing that I can say that will explain this in a satisfactory way, so please, just- just—” Just try and understand, is what he wants to say, but the words won’t come.
“Eddie, I only want what’s best for you, can’t you see that?” Sonia asks. “That friend of yours can’t take care of you the way that I can.”
“No, ma. No one takes care of me like you do,” Eddie says carefully. He knows they are close to the edge and he doesn’t really want to spill over. Even after everything, he believes that she loves him and only wants what she thinks is best for him, but her whole world view was totally screwed. She had done her best, but it's time to get on with his life. Their life together isn't fair to either of them.
“Then why do you want to leave me?”
“It’s not you, ma. Leaving is just something I gotta do.” Eddie looks at her and wishes he hadn’t. She’s crying and looks so, so small. She’d never really looked small before and it scares him.
“But why?”
He almost says, Because I love him, but he is literally saved by the doorbell.
“Oh, who could that be at this hour?” Sonia sniffs and starts to get up.
“It’s for me, ma. It’s— It’s Joey. He’s going to help me get my stuff over to Richie’s.”
“And where is Richie then?” Sonia asks as Eddie heads towards the door.
“At home. We thought it would be less… upsetting if you didn’t see him right now.” And it clearly worked well, cause you are so, so calm, he thinks to himself. He opens the door and smiles at his favorite coworker. Well, soon to be ex-coworker because Eddie and Richie are moving to LA in a few weeks. Guilt fills Eddie’s stomach when he realizes he hasn’t told his mother this yet.
One thing at a time, Eddie tells him.
“Hey, Joey, thanks for this again.”
“Any time, Eddie. How is she?” Joey looks past Eddie to try and see Sonia for himself.
“She’s… taking it about as well as can be expected at this point.” Eddie glances back over his shoulder to see if she’s come out of the dining room or not, and is relieved to find the hall empty.
“Come on. My room is upstairs.” Eddie moves aside so Joey can come in, and Eddie is struck by the realization that Joey is the first friend he’s had over since he was a kid. He doesn’t count Myra because that had been just a huge disaster.
It had never been a real relationship, they hadn’t even kissed. It had been so easy to just pretend like he wanted to wait for marriage, that he was an old fashioned kind of guy, and Myra had happily gone along with it. Sometimes Eddie almost felt sorry for her, but he knew that she didn’t love him any more than he loved her.
Honestly, even if Eddie weren’t gay, he knows his mother would never have really let him marry Myra, and he would be here irregardless. There had been no escaping his mother.
They head up the stairs, and Eddie can hear Sonia crying in the kitchen. He hopes she stays there.
Eddie doesn’t have much stuff he actually wants to take, and between Joey and himself, it only takes one trip to get all his stuff. They put his things in the trunk and Eddie sighs.
“I’m going to go say goodbye. This may take a while. If it gets too late, call Richie and—”
“I know the plan, Eddie. It’s ok. It’s going to be fine.”
Eddie giggles. “Yeah, sure. You wanna go in for me?” He points to the door.
“Not a chance in hell.” They both laugh. “Good luck, Eddie.” Joey squeezes Eddie's shoulder, and Eddie sighs a little.
“Thanks. I’m going to need it.” He takes another deep breath and turns to walk up the path. He opens the door and steps back in. He rubs his face as he goes to find Sonia. She’s in the kitchen staring at the leftover pot roast.
“I’m leaving, ma. I just— I just wanted to say goodbye.”
Sonia says nothing.
“Ma, please. Please try to understand. I’m not doing this to hurt you. I just want a chance to be happy.”
Sonia begins to put the leftovers away.
“Ma, say something. Please.” When she doesn’t say anything, Eddie nods. “It’s ok, ma. Maybe one day you’ll understand. Maybe one day we’ll be able to talk again.” He turns and walks down the hall.
“Eddie?” Sonia calls from the kitchen.
“Yeah, ma?” He turns and sees her watching from the kitchen doorway.
“If you leave, I never want to see you again,” Sonia says.
Swallowing hard, Eddie nods. “I love you, ma.” He turns and leaves, closing the door quietly behind him. He hates this, hates himself, hates everything. He stews in his guilt all the way to Richie’s. When they get there, Eddie hesitates.
“You want me to go get Richie?” Joey asks.
Eddie doesn’t say anything for a long moment, just sits there thinking about how Joey was the best friend he had without the Losers, and even though they’d been friends for years Joey knew very little about Eddie’s life. Eddie is amazed that Joey would be willing to just drop everything to help him. Slowly, Eddie shakes his head. “No, come on. Let’s go in. I’m tired and ready for tonight to be over.”
“Ok.” Joey squeezes Eddie’s shoulder. They get out and grab the bags. They walk up the steps and Richie opens the door before they can knock on the door.
“Hey! Eddie Spaghetti! Welcome home!” He lifts Eddie up and pulls him into a tight hug and kisses his ear.
“Hi, Richie.”
Richie puts him down. “Uh oh. I take it things didn't go well with Mama Kaspbrak?” He ruffles Eddie’s hair and he can’t help but smile.
“We’ll talk about it in a bit.”
Grabbing Eddie’s face, Richie pulls him close and he gives him a huge smooch. “Ok, babes.” He looks up at Joey and steps aside to let them both in. “Thanks for all your help, Joey. We couldn’t have done this without you.”
Joey waves him off. “You’re ok. I was happy to help.” He sets the bags down. “Let me know if you need anything else.”
“Will do,” Richie says. Joey waves and walks back out.
“Bye, Joey. See you Monday!” Eddie calls. He waves and Richie closes the door. He takes a deep breath and leans against the door.
“Was she awful?” Richie asks.
“Oh, yes.” Eddie walks over and pulls Richie’s arms around him. Richie pulls him close and kisses the top of his head.
“I’m sorry, Eds. What can I do?”
Shaking his head, Eddie looks up at Richie. “Thank you for being so amazing.”
“Me? What did I do?” Richie asks.
“You exist.”
Richie smiles and kisses Eddie gently on the lips. “Love you, Spaghetti Man.”
“Love you, too, Richie.” He rests his head on Richie’s chest and they just stand there for a few minutes.
“So, you wanna unpack tonight or just go to bed?” Richie asks.
Eddie takes a deep breath and sighs. “Do you have any ice cream? I didn’t eat much dinner.” It’s weird to think that this time last year, Eddie would have balked at the suggestion of ice cream so close to bedtime, would have pointed out that it would probably give them stomach aches, but in this moment, it’s all he wants.
“I think we might have some. Let’s go look.” He takes Eddie’s hand and laces their fingers together as he leads the way to the kitchen. Eddie leans against the counter as Richie opens the freezer. “We’ve got rocky road and vanilla bean.”
Eddie thinks for a moment and just nods. “Sure.”
“Which one?”
“Both.”
“You got it babes.” Richie puts the ice cream on the counter and gets some spoons. “Want help up?”
“What?”
“If we’re going to eat ice cream out of the carton, we do it sitting on the counter.”
Laughing, Eddie makes a face. “You’re so goofy.” He kisses Richie’s cheek. “Help me up?” He of course doesn’t need help, but he just wants another excuse for Richie to touch him. When they are both up on the counter, Richie opens the ice creams and hands a carton to Eddie. They bang them together and dig in.
After a few minutes of silence, Richie asks, “You wanna talk about it?”
Sighing, Eddie takes another bite of ice cream. “She said she would never talk to me again.”
“And that’s a bad thing?” Richie asks.
“Richie!” Eddie shoves his shoulder smiling a little despite himself. He takes a deep breath. “Look, I know she was terrible, I know she’s going to be terrible, because Lord knows she’s not going to leave me alone despite what she may say, but I can’t help but feel sorry for her. She has nothing without me.”
Richie takes a bite of Eddie’s ice cream and considers this for a moment. “Spaghetti, your mom is what, a million?” Eddie smiles and rolls his eyes. “Your dad died when you were a kid. Your mom has had pretty much your entire life to get a life of her own, but she refused. If your mom really wanted to be happy, she would have found a way, you know? It’s not your job to make her happy, remember?”
Nodding, Eddie sighs. “I know. I just feel bad.” And he does. He really does. It's something he's talked about at great length not only with the Losers but with his therapist, Billie, as well.
Richie tosses his empty ice cream container on the counter and pulls Eddie close.
“Baby, I love you so much. You deserve only the best.” He takes a deep breath. “You deserve to be happy.”
“I know. I love you, too.” He squeezes Richie and pulls back. He tries to stifle a yawn, but Richie sees right through him.
“Aww, Sketti. Let’s go to bed.” He puts the ice cream away and presses another kiss into Eddie’s forehead. “Come on.” He hauls Eddie up into his arms and Eddie shrieks with laughter as he wraps his arms around Richie's neck.
“Are you really going to carry me up to bed bridal style?” Eddie asks.
Richie shrugs. “I thought it was fitting, being your first official night home and all.”
Eddie pulls him close for a kiss. “I love you so much.”
“Love you, too, Eds.”
“There’s only one problem,” Eddie says.
“And what’s that?”
“You’re going to throw out your back.”
Rolling his eyes and laughing, Richie says, “Right, like you are so, so heavy. Pfft. It will be ok.”
“Richie!”
“Eddie! You’re just scared I’m gonna drop you.” They laugh.
“No, I’m not. You would never.” They kiss again. “I love you so much.”
“I love you, too.” He pushes his forehead into Eddie’s. “Are you ready for bed?”
“Sure am,” Eddie says. Richie carries Eddie up to his bedroom— to their bedroom.
Their bedroom.
Because Eddie lives here now. Eddie is home.
After Richie puts Eddie down, they get changed into some pajamas. Eddie just wears one of Richie’s undershirts because he'd left his bags downstairs and neither of them wanted to go back down for them. They crawl under the blankets. Richie pulls Eddie close, curling around him. Eddie holds tightly to Richie’s arm and nuzzles into his chest.
Despite his stress and anxiety, Eddie manages to fall asleep pretty quickly. He wakes up early the next morning to the sound of pigeons and Richie snoring softly in his ear. He has to pee but he’s not ready to get up so he just lays there for a few more minutes.
Then he remembers his mother. He sighs and wonders how she’s doing, if she’d managed to get any sleep. He knows Richie is right, that it’s not Eddie’s job to make her happy, but still. It’s hard to let go.
After another minute he sighs and starts to try and pull free, but Richie holds him tighter. Eddie brushes some hair out of his boyfriend’s face and kisses his forehead.
“Rich,” Eddie murmurs.
“Uh uh, not yet.” Richie shoves his face into Eddie’s neck.
“Richie.” Eddie strokes the back of Richie’s neck.
“Just a few more minutes.”
“I just need to pee, and then I’ll be right back.”
“But don’t you have to—” Richie stops, pulls back, and looks up at Eddie. “You are home.”
“Yeah. I am.” Eddie kisses the tip of Richie’s nose. “But I really have to pee.”
Richie smiles widely. “Ok, ok. But you’re coming back.” Clearly he’s not going to be the only one who’s going to need time getting used to this new arrangement.
“Yes, love, I’m coming back.” They share a kiss and then Eddie gets up. After using the toilet, Eddie splashes some water on his face. It’s weird to think that soon he’s going to move 3,000 miles away.
Taking a deep breath, Eddie goes back to Richie. He curls up and pulls him close. They doze for a little while, and when they wake up again, they still aren’t ready to get up.
Richie lays there gently stroking Eddie’s arm and they listen to the soft sounds of spring; the birds, the wind through the trees, the voices from people on the street as they go about their day, and it’s so, so nice.
Neither of them say anything until Richie’s stomach rumbles. Without opening his eyes, Richie grumbles, “Traitor.”
“We can get up and eat and come back,” Eddie points out. “We don’t have to do anything today.”
Ruffling Eddie’s hair, Richie asks, “Why Eddie Kaspbrak, are you really suggesting we procrastinate, that we shirk our duties for the day?”
Smiling gently, Eddie kisses Richie. “I’m saying, I want to feel like this forever.”
“How’s that, Eddie spaghetti?”
Licking his lips, Eddie blushes and ducks his head. “Safe. And loved. Peaceful.”
Richie swallows hard and gives the back of Eddie’s neck a gentle squeeze. “Yeah?” He asks softly. “No regrets.”
Eddie shakes his head, no. “I love you so much. I feel so lucky, so damn lucky that we got this chance again when— We almost lost each other twice. It would have killed me to lose you a third time.”
They fall silent for a moment and then Richie sniffles a little. Shocked, Eddie pulls back to look at him.
“Richie what—?”
“It’s just— I’m just—” He swallows hard and tries to take a deep breath. “I—” He laughs.
“It’s ok, Richie. Talk to me.”
“I just love you so much, and I mean I know you love me, but I didn’t—” He lets out a small sob. “I never hoped, never dreamed you could love me as much as I love you. That— That you would—”
“Richie, I love you so much. Why would you even doubt that?” Eddie wipes away some of Richie’s tears.
“I didn’t. I mean, not really. It’s just—” He sighs. “My past relationships, for the most part, were good. We cared about each other and took care of each other, but they weren’t like this, weren’t this… this intense. It’s so amazing that we got lucky like we did, and I think— I know— I feel like—” He shakes his head a little.
“Richie, are you really at a loss for words?” Eddie asks and Richie laughs.
“I just love you so much. And I want to keep this feeling too. I want this moment to last forever.”
They kiss again and Eddie curls up under Richie’s chin. They don’t sleep, but they don’t talk and they don’t move, and it’s all just so nice.
Eventually they get up and shower so they can go get food, but it’s really ok because they are together and they love each other, and they know things aren’t always going to be smooth, but for right now, for these moments, everything is good, perfect even. They know that in the end, they will always have each other, and that’s more than enough.
Not Good For You (Part Two) || JJ Maybank
- Part One
Two weeks after you and JJ’s break up you attend a party with the intentions of getting over him but he has other plans.
It had been two weeks since your breakup with JJ and although it killed you inside you’d stayed a far distance away from not only him but the rest of the crew as well.
You didn’t intend to push them away, especially not Kie whom you’d known your whole life, but you couldn’t help but think about what JJ had said. Of course they’d choose him, he’s a pogue. You’re a kook, you don’t have any business being friends with any of them.
Your father was practically throwing a party at the expense of your feelings. He was hardly around, he didn’t see how deeply the break up had affected you. Your mother, on the other hand, was worried for you.
You wouldn’t leave the house, spending hours a day simply moping around the halls. You also quieter than usual. You had your issues with your family, and truthfully they hadn’t seen you much in the past few years since you’d become friends with the pogues, but when you were around them you were usually happy and talkative. Now you’d hardly said a word in days and looked like nothing but an empty shell of her daughter.
JJ hadn’t been doing too well either. He was angry and withdrawn. The others had never seen him this way before, not even after the multiple times he’d gotten beaten senseless by his father. That night after you stormed off he’d told them about the talk he’d had with your father.
They all told him that he was an idiot for letting your dad’s words get to him and begged him to go to your house and make things right, but he stood his ground even though every part of him wanted to listen to them.
JJ felt guilty watching them miss you. The five of you had spent practically all everyday all day together for the last couple years and although he’d been the one actually dating you the breakup was hitting them just as hard as it was hitting him. He could tell they didn’t want to bring it up much for fear of upsetting him.
Three days after that night the four of them had woken up after a night of nearly no sleep. John B had yawned before saying, “Ugh I wish Y/N was here. She makes the best coffee.”
Upon seeing the hurt on JJ’s face he’d apologized and they’d all tried their hardest not to mention her since.
They all were currently laying around the chateau in silence when suddenly John B speaks, “You know what, I’m sick of this. I’m sick of being all sad and depressed because of...” He trails off but the others already knew what he was going to say, “We should throw a party.”
“A party? John B do you really think that’s a good idea?” Kie asks, running a hand through her hair.
“Think about it guys! I mean, back in the day there was nothing that a good old kegger couldn’t fix, remember?” It was silent for a moment while they all soaked up his words.
“I’m down,” Pope shrugs and Kiara nods as they all look towards JJ.
“JJ? You in?”
“I don’t know. Maybe count me out on this one?” The blonde boy replies and the other three groan.
“Oh come on JJ. You never used to turn down a party! And besides, maybe you’ll meet somebody and move on from-“ Pope stops talking as Kie harshly elbows him and turns to glare at her.
They all stare at JJ as he thinks it over and finally sighs, “Sure, yeah.”
Kie and Pope cheer as John B smiles, “Great, it’s a plan then.”
—
“Y/N do you still have that diamond hairpin that I let you borrow a few months ago?” Your mother asked as you watched her get ready for a party her and your father were going to.
“Um maybe?” You responded, knowing damn well you gave it to JJ to pawn off.
“Well can you go check your room for it please? It would really help out my outfit.” She pleads and you sigh.
“Yeah, I guess.” You walk out of your parents’ room in across the hall into your own, nearly screaming when you realize somebody is already sitting on your bed waiting for you, “Jesus Kie, you scared me! What are you doing here?”
“Y/N we miss you. All of us do, we’ve all been struggling with loosing you, especially JJ,” She whispers the last part but you hear it anyway and shake your head.
“Kie if you’re here to try to fix things between me and JJ then you should probably just leave. He told me exactly how he feels and trust me when I say that he is not interested in getting back together so please just stay out of it.”
Kiara’s heart sinks and she’s tempted to tell you the truth about why JJ said those things instead she shakes her head, “No no, Y/N. That’s not why I came. I- we’re having a kegger tonight on the beach. Please come, I miss my best friend.” She pleads.
“I don’t know Kie. Watching JJ flirt with and be all over other girls knowing I’m not over him doesn’t really sound like my cup of tea.”
“I doubt he’ll be doing that. Besides the beach is huge, you don’t even have to see him if you don’t want too!” She insists.
“And what about the other boys, what do they think about it?” You ask wearily.
“They don’t even know I’m here but I know they’d be so happy if you came. They miss the hell out of you Y/N. It’s not the same without you there.”
She stares at you for a moment while you think. You have missed them and going would probably get your mom off your back. But what about JJ, you know your heart isn’t ready to see him again. You know what, screw JJ. Like Kie said, the beach is big enough and there will probably be enough people there that you won’t even have to see him.
You sigh and nod, “Yeah sure, I’ll go. But if I see even a glimpse of JJ I’m out.”
—
“Damn it Kie, we’ve been looking for you all- Y/N!” John B yells when he sees you walking behind Kiara and you laugh as he runs forward and picks you up in a hug, spinning you around.
“Hey JB,” You smile, moving to hug Pope as well.
“Where the hell have you been?! We’ve missed you!” Pope asks after you pull away.
“The land of the dead,” You laugh, referring to your house but also referring to your mental state the past two weeks, “But in case you were wondering I’ve missed you idiots too...I suppose” You add at the end, jumping away as John B attempts to punch you playfully in the shoulder.
“Don’t ever disappear like that for that long ever again.” Pope says softly and you look at the ground, feeling guilty.
“Hey, don’t feel bad. We understand that you needed some time.” Kie reaches out to put a hand on your shoulder. You look up and smile at her weakly.
“Yeah well I’m over being sad. Now if somebody doesn’t get me a beer right now I’m leaving,” You smirk and they all laugh.
“Yes your highness,” John B bows playfully and runs off towards the keg.
—
“And that’s when he said ‘just yank the damn thing out!’ Stupidest thing I’ve ever heard him say,” The kids around you laugh as you tell them the story of when John B stepped on a fishing hook, chugging down the rest of your sixth (or seventh?) beer.
As the night had progressed you surprisingly hadn’t seen JJ and you were relieved for that, instead inserting yourself into a group of tourons that were already wasted and would probably pass out on the beach, unable to navigate the way back to their hotel.
You were also quite tipsy, just enough to have that extra courage to do things you normally wouldn’t, which is why you currently stood wrapped up in the arms of some random touron that you didn’t bother learning the name of.
The kids around you began a new conversation and you turned and stood on your tip toes, leaning in to the boy’s ear, “I’m going to get another beer and then you should take me back to your hotel.”
He nodded, eyes going wide, and you wink before walking over towards the keg. You fill your cup to the brim and head back to the group, waving at Kie with a smile as you pass her talking to one of her coworkers at The Wreck. You’re nearly back to the group of tourists when the voice you were hoping you wouldn’t hear tonight calls out your name.
You ignore him and keep walking but he follows and grabs your wrist, gaining the attention of the tourons near you, “Y/N can we talk?”
“Oh hey JJ. Guys, this is my ex-boyfriend, JJ. He broke up with me because I’m rich.” You say sarcastically, taking a sip of your beer.
“That’s not why. Y/N please, I need to talk to you, in private.” He pleads and you shake your head.
“Isn’t it though? You broke up with me because you were afraid of ‘dragging me down to your level’ and ‘ruining my hopes and dreams’, because apparently you think I’m only capable of being happy if I’m rich right? So yeah, essentially you did break up with me because I’m rich and your not. Or was it the fact that I’m too clingy and pathetic? What, did you come to tell me? That I need to move on because you haven’t loved me for a long time? Well sorry JJ but for once in my life I don’t give a shit what you’re about to say next so can you leave? I was doing just fine having fun over until you had to come ruin it. Jesus, you really don’t want me to move on and be happy. Who’s the pathetic one now.” You snap as everyone around you ‘oohs’ and you hear one of them say ‘damn bro, she told you’.
“God damn it Y/N. Of course I want you to be happy, that’s all I’ve ever wanted. I- I didn’t mean anything I said that night. Please just let me explain.” JJ says again.
You hadn’t seen him tonight but he’d seen you. He’d watched from afar as you talked and laughed and when he saw you in the arms of that boy his heart broke even more. He couldn’t stand seeing you with someone who wasn’t him and with that he finally decided to tell you the truth.
Finally you roll your eyes, “You have ten minutes to explain yourself.” He tries not to smile in triumph and nods, pulling you away to a quiet spot, away from people.
“The night of Midsummers I had every intention of finding you Y/N. I wanted nothing more then to find you and have you in my arms. As I was looking for Sarah, to give her John B’s note, I ran into your dad-“ You scoff and roll your eyes.
“Of course my father has something to do with this. What did he say, huh? Did he tell you how dirty and poor you are and how much he hates you and doesn’t like you? Yeah he told me that same thing multiple times JJ but I didn’t break up with you because of it.”
“Yeah he started out with that. And I told him that I wouldn’t break up with you. But then he started talking about how being with me would ruin your life and how one day I’d get into trouble and drag you down with me and you’d have to give up your dreams.”
“And did you ever once stop and think about what those dreams were? Or did you just automatically assume? Just because I’m a kook did you think my main goal in life is to go to a fancy college, marry a handsome rich man, and have some spoiled little rich kids running around?” You ask angrily.
“No! No of course not. I- to be honest I don’t know what I thought.” He admits sheepishly, looking at the ground.
“Yeah well you wanna hear my dreams for my future? The ones you were so worried that you would ruin? JJ when I think about the future I dream about having more adventures with you and the others. I dream about us getting married out in the middle of the water on the HMS Pogue with the people we love most watching, one of them can get ordained to perform the ceremony, I don’t care who. I dream about finding a cute little house close to the water that we can call home, like the chateau, some place where our children and their friends can hang out and call home. I dream about having a bunch of little mini JJ’s and mini Y/N’s running around, probably having to break up a few fights if they have a temper anything like their father’s. I dream about growing old with you and watching our grandchildren grow up and have their own adventures just like we did and our kids will after us. Or so I thought. Funny how you broke up with me because you were so worried about ruining my dreams but you breaking up with me is the thing that ruined them huh?” You laugh humorlessly.
“Y/N I didn’t know. I’m sorry. I’m an idiot, I know that. I know that I was wrong for what I did and what I said. But Y/N I can’t live without you. These past two weeks have been hell without you and I just want you back. I’m done listening to what other people think I swear.” He replies softly.
“I thought you fell out of love with me? Yeah because I’m too clingy.”
He shakes his head furiously, “That was a lie. I only said it to push you away, like you accused me of when I said it in the first place.”
“You called me pathetic JJ. You told me that you felt bad because I have no other friends and that you knew the pogues would choose you over me because you’re a pogue and I’m a kook.” You reply softly, more hurt now than angry.
“No. No you’re not Y/N. You might have a kook family and live in a kook house on the kook side of the island but you are a pogue. You’ve always been a pogue and I’m an idiot for not realizing it sooner-“
“You’re an idiot for a lot of things.” I laugh softly and he returns it.
“Yeah I guess I am. My point though, Y/N, is that you are a pogue. In fact the pogues aren’t the pogues without you. Nothing Is right without you. You do have friends, we are your friends. Nothing will change that. Even if you don’t forgive me right away or at all, even if you don’t want to take me back. I don’t care what happens as long as you’re in my life because without you nothing is the same.” Your face softens as you see a tear rolling down his cheek and reach forward to wipe it away.
You stay leaned in, just staring into those blue eyes that you love so much, the same ones that have caused you so much pain in the past to weeks. Finally you sigh and whisper, “Of course I forgive you. My dad got in your head, that’s not your fault. And I’ll admit I am a little stubborn.”
He smiles, “Does at mean?”
“Kiss me you idiot,” You laugh and obeys, cupping your cheek softly as he leans in and kisses you sweetly. After he pulls away he just rests his forehead against yours for a moment, soaking up as much affection as he can after missing it for two weeks.
“You didn’t address the pathetic comment,” You joke, pulling away and he laughs, standing up and offering you his hand.
“I say we go find out friends, yeah?” You take his hand and nod.
“Hey I thought you wanted to go back to my hotel?” The boy from earlier calls out as you two walk past.
“Sorry bro, she’s mine. Hey, maybe you should talk to your friend over there though, she’s been staring at you all night!” JJ calls and you laugh as he pulls you towards the pogues who are now grouped together around a fire.
“Hey! I see you two made up. Did dumbass here finally listen to us and tell you the truth?” Kie yells jokingly as the two of you sit down on a log across from her.
“He did and I’m not letting him take ‘advice’ from my father, or anyone, ever again.” You answer, curling into his side.
“I don’t plan on it. I promise, I’m never leaving you again. What do you say about making your dreams a reality?”
You smile as he wraps his arm around you, “I think that sounds like a great idea.”
So here it is, the end 🥺 I hope it did part one some justice and fixed your broken hearts. Can I just take a minute to tell you all how shocked I was when part one blew up? I did not expect it to get that much attention but I’m so happy it did. Ever since I posted it I’ve been reading all of your comments and it makes my heart so happy so thank you 💕 I’ll be writing more soon so if you liked my writing then be on the lookout for that 😉
You ignored his pleading remark, you just wanted to be alone. You begged for peace and quiet so you could calm down. Jaehyun’s hand lingered on the knob, he wanted to stay and to explain, but you abruptly shut the door before he could even speak. You leaned your forehead against the door, not being able to stand the expression of longing and pleading sketched all over his face, but you couldn’t help what you were feeling. Anger, frustration, misplaced, and mentally and emotionally exhausted. You let gravity pull you to the chair and freed a long-awaited breath you never knew you held. It truly is his problem, and you knew you shouldn’t fret about it but why were you? You knew it was too early to forgive and develop feelings, so why were you so worked up? No, I’m not, you massaged your forehead.
Jaehyun also dropped into his seat, his palms supporting the weight of his head, more so his thoughts. The sight of Chaeyoung broke him, she looked so shattered, so defeated, he never intended to hurt her and that devastated him. She’s the first person he’s ever loved, he even waited for her, and he broke her right on the spot. Then there was you, the glance of disappointment made him tousle his hair, all he wanted was to make things right, and instead, he made it worse. He was in the right place but at the wrong time. Jaehyun wanted so bad to check up on Chaeyoung, but he pulled himself from it knowing he shouldn’t. He should be checking up on you, but when he texted, you didn’t answer. Jaehyun tossed his phone to the side, disappointed things were under this kind of circumstance.
Cases didn’t always go Jaehyun’s way, like tonight, he ended up working until midnight. His father had compiled paperwork that needed to be finished by tomorrow’s meeting. Jaehyun despised his father for his inconsideration, but what could Jaehyun do? He wants the CEO position, so he has to work for it, even if his father doesn’t believe he has the capability to obtain it.
When the sky that was once painted yellow and orange was smeared with darkness, the twinkling lights that lit far from Earth had their moment to shine. As Jaehyun stepped out of the building, it was inevitable for him to cherish the sight above him. After everything that he’s been through, put you through, he inhaled a large breath and relaxed, feeling as if the weight had been lifted his shoulders. Everything’s going to be okay, he thought. And he truly believed that as he pulled his gaze from the strong sky that held the galaxy.
When Jaehyun came in, he figured there’d be no way you were awake until he saw your bedroom door opened with the lights on, did she wait up for me? He wanted to talk to you about today, but when he got to your room, you were asleep on your desk. The side of your head rested on your folded arms, on top of the files you had brought from work. Jaehyun thought that even if you looked exhausted, you still looked so amicable.
Jaehyun quietly set his briefcase down before walking over to your desk. He combed your escaped hairs behind your ear, then rested his hand on your cheek, you slightly moved from the soft touch. He lifted your limbs until you gripped him like a koala as he carried you to your bed, gently setting you down. Jaehyun wrapped you into your sheets, careful to not wake you, and crouched down beside your bed. He admires how naturally beautiful you are, your professionalism, how you present yourself, and how patient you’ve been with him. The recognizable feeling returned to him and he began to feel upset at himself again, the way he treated you, yelled at you and belittled you. Jaehyun was never going to get over it, he couldn’t help but feel guilty for hurting such a beautiful person.
With sad eyes, Jaehyun left your room, softly shutting the door behind him, and that night Jaehyun didn’t sleep at all. In fact, he heard you get up, get ready, and leave for work, but he didn’t bother to come out of his shell because he didn’t want to face you, he couldn’t. Jaehyun shoved down his feelings for wanting to pursue you when he looked at you that night. He couldn’t help but think, what if it’s too late and she doesn’t even want me anymore? What if it’s too late and she doesn’t even want to try? At the same time, his heart couldn’t let go of Chaeyoung. With his mind and heart in battle, he was the one withdrawing from you this time.
You hadn’t noticed he was ignoring you through the past couple of days because you were bustling at work. When you finally had time to sit for lunch, that was the moment you wondered what was going on because Jaehyun hadn’t sent a text, called you, or even asked to join you for lunch, you haven’t even seen him at home that often either. Not that you were bothered by it, but it made you slightly doubt him. He’s been acting different ever since he came by for lunch, was it the way I reacted? Was it because he saw Chaeyoung that time? You dropped the files in irritation, you couldn’t help but feel upset that he was avoiding you all week, you knew he was because you’ve already done it to him before. You just wanted him to say something to you, anything.
As soon as you finished eating, you picked up the files you abandoned and sent them to their dedicated department. You needed to get out and let loose, you needed to cool down and you knew who the right person was. As soon as you got back to your office, you pulled out your phone to call Haewon, but fate always had a good way of interrupting your mood because Jaehyun’s name popped up on your screen before you could even unlock it.
You stared at his name that appeared on your phone. Your eyes went back and forth between the green ‘answer’ icon and the red ‘decline answer’ icon. You wanted to refuse it because of the way he’s been avoiding you, but even though you hated to admit it, there was a sliver of a second where you wanted to hear his voice.
“Yes?”
“Hey, um what are you doing this Friday?” Jaehyun timidly asked, it felt like it’s been forever since you heard his voice. A voice that's saturated with honey.
You checked your calendar in front of your screen, it’s only Wednesday and your Friday evening held vacancy. “Nothing,” you hesitated, “why?”
“Oh,” Jaehyun paused, “well, my parents want us to come over for dinner.”
You pondered for a bit because you could sense the tension between you two, but you decided that maybe it was for the best to go for the sake of you two, “Sure, what time?”
“We’ll probably leave around 5:30,” Jaehyun added.
“Okay sounds good, I’ll talk to you later,” you hung up the phone, not waiting to hear his goodbye.
When you hang up on him, Jaehyun feels like he could cut the tension between you two like a knife, he knows that you’re mad because he’s avoiding you. Throwing his head back, he rubbed his eyes with stress stacking. Everything at work is piling up on him, Chaeyoung is heartbroken, he’s going through his own heartbreak, and you’re mad at him.
“Mr. Jung, your father is here,” his secretary barged in, making Jaehyun jolt from his seat out of a trance.
Jaehyun’s father stormed in, his face contorted in anger as his hand gripped his briefcase. Before he could speak up, his father slammed the briefcase on Jaehyun’s desk, “you had one job!”
Jaehyun looked confused at his father, he’s done everything right and he knows it because Jaehyun is always careful when it comes to working. “Father, what are you talking about?”
Before answering Jaehyun, his father raised his hand and gave Jaehyun a callous slap across his face. “The financial statements? Yeah, they’re a fucking mess. When I went to meet up with a potential partner and buyer, all the numbers were wrong, now we don’t have a partnership or branch with them. I taught you better,” his father caterwauled, “we lost thousands because of you.”
“No,” Jaehyun stood his ground, “I did them right! The accountant messed it up, so I had to check it myself!” he defended.
But Jaehyun’s father wouldn’t back down without a fight, it was like he enjoyed it, “I just spoke to the accountant, everything was done correctly until your ego came in and swiped it from him. YOU messed it up!”
“Father, I’m telling you the truth. I triple checked it, you probably saw it wrong!” Jaehyun blurted, immediately regretting his words.
“I’m never wrong,” his father growled, “get these statements fixed or you’re done. I can’t have an incompetence person working under me.” he tightened his tie and left, slamming the door shut loud enough to be heard throughout the entire building.
Jaehyun fingers grazed the ghost of his father’s palm against his cheek, the pain still lingering like a million needles. The last few seconds always hurt more than it did at that moment, the prickling in his cheek wouldn’t leave the sensitive skin so he left to get an ice pack, hoping the pain would surrender. No one knew of Jaehyun’s father’s abuse, for one, it was unseen, and second, even if it was seen or even suspected, they would be given hush money. Jaehyun knows he has the power to reveal it, but he would always be reminded of his mother. He didn’t want her to live her known life of an abusive husband, he wanted her to be known for the wife of a successful father, especially when she didn’t choose this kind of life. No, she didn’t know about her husband’s issues, he kept it well away from her.
Person...Jaehyun scoffed, his father didn’t even consider him as his own son, he hasn’t since Jaehyun could ever remember. Jaehyun never knew why his father held such hatred for him but thought it was better that way because Jaehyun didn’t want to know anyway.
With an ice pack in one hand, holding it against his cheek and the other on his hip, Jaehyun peered down at the citizens that suffused the streets and sidewalks. Everyone had their own life, their own stories, and moments, how come Jaehyun felt like he never had any good ones?
“Who were you talking to earlier on the phone?” Your mother asked, poking at her salad.
“Jaehyun,” you answered, stirring your soup, to be honest, you found it difficult to have an appetite after the phone call.
“Oh? What does he want? Is everything okay?”
“Everything’s fine,” you sighed, “his parents just want us to come over for dinner this Friday.”
“That’s exciting!” your mother gasped.
Uneasiness replaced the food in your stomach, you had a sense of the kind of person Jaehyun’s father is and thought of being in the same room with him was unsettling. “Yeah, we’ll see how it goes,” you put the cap on your soup and told your mother you were ready to go back up to your office.
You were almost done with the files for the week, if you keep up the focus and pace, you’d for sure finish them by Friday. Since you were down in the designing department at the beginning of the week, you made regular trips to make sure everything was perfect. To you, Chaeyoung didn’t look even better from before, her eyes still tugged on her dark bags and her lack of sleep showed on her face. She sensed you looking at her so she perked her head up and walked towards you.
“Can we talk?” she timidly asked.
Instead of telling her to make an appointment with her, you pressed your lips together because you knew what she wanted to talk about. “Sure, follow me to my office, my mother’s in a meeting so it’ll just be the two of us,” you lead her to the way of your office.
The tension between you two was stiff, you both stood on either side of the elevator as silence drowned you both until the doors opened. She followed you into our office, shutting the door behind her as you sat in your chair.
“What did you want to discuss?” You clasped your hands on top of your desk.
“Why didn’t you tell me that you and Jaehyun were engaged?”
Taken aback from her informality and hasty question, you hesitated in your thoughts before proceeding. “Because it’s not my business with what Jaehyun had with you,” you began, “that was his issue to figure out with you. I understand that you two were in a relationship, but this is something we can’t do anything about.”
“But you’re my boss, how can I just let this go? I see you just about every day.”
“If it’s that hard working for me, then I recommend you hand in your resignation letter. You were the one that was affiliated with him, I had no intention of interrupting what you had with him. It is Jaehyun’s sole decision to make for himself,” as harsh as you said it, it was the truth and you meant every word of it.
Chaeyoung shook her head, she worked so hard to get a position at one of the most elite fashion brands, she couldn’t afford to lose it just for one guy. Her gaze fell from onto her lap where she picked the skin of her thumb, “No, I want to stay. I get that I’m new here and I’m just an intern, but I hope this doesn’t affect my job.”
“Don’t worry about that, know when to separate your personal and professional life. If it proceeds to affect your job, I won’t have a choice to fire you, Chayeoung.”
“Yes, Ms. Y/l/n.” She nodded, “thank you.” Even though you were straightforward, your words were genuine.
“I know he’s talked to you and has broken things off, so take the rest of the week to make peace with yourself,” you recommended.
“No, that’s okay! I’ll continue to work hard!” Chaeyoung abruptly stood up, bowing to you, and rushing out of your office with determination in her steps. She was thankful that you were considerate enough to think about her.
“Oh, okay then,” you blinked.
You proceeded to focus your work on the files, but every time your phone dinged the little distraction was accompanied with hope, for you to hope that it was Jaehyun. It never was. Why do I even want him to call me? You massage your temples with your elbows propped on your desk.
“Everything okay?” Your mother brisked in.
“Yeah, how was your meeting?”
“It was fine,” she sighed, “Mr. Jung is particularly intense today.”
“Jaehyun was here?” You unintentionally chirped.
“No, no, his father. He seemed angry the entire meeting,” your mother’s brows furrowed.
“Oh,” you sighed. Maybe that’s why he hasn’t contacted me. Maybe something bad happened between them two and maybe it happened because of work.
It was 7 pm when you arrived home, you didn’t notice the lit up apartment, the sounds of another person, or the appetizing aroma filling your nose.
“You’re home.”
Jumping, you released an “oh!” holding onto your chest. In the kitchen, stood Jaehyun by the stove, stirring the pan. You hadn’t seen Jaehyun for a few days so you didn’t expect to see him now, but here you were, mouth agape, “y-yeah.” you slowly shut the door.
“I’m almost done, set your stuff down so we can eat.”
You stood your ground as he turned his back to continue cooking. It’s been a couple of days since you’ve seen him, so you couldn’t help but fixate your gaze on his back. The way his muscles stretched the fiber of the white t-shirt he slipped on, the extensiveness of his shoulders, and his damp hair that sat comfortably on his head. You wanted to run your hands over the strength of his back and tangle your fingers in his soft hair. What the- you quickly flicked the thought off, afraid that he’d catch you checking him out. You convinced yourself that your heart was racing only because he startled you when you came in.
You step towards him, crossing your arms and leaning your back against the counter beside the stove. Jaehyun raised an eyebrow, never seeing you in such a stance because you always stood with poise. You quietly watched him stir the sauteed rice and vegetables that brought color to the dish.
“Hope you like fried rice,” he mumbled.
“Why have you been avoiding me?” You bluntly asked, it surprised both of you because you didn’t intend to be this forward.
Surprised, Jaehyun stuttered, “I-I just had a lot to do for work.”
You paused before speaking in a hushed whisper, “I’m sorry for not being understanding the other day at lunch.”
Jaehyun stopped his stirring to glance at you, your head was lowered while playing with the buttons on your blouse. When you met his eyes, he could see the sincerity it held.
“I’m not sure what came over me,” you scoffed. Truth is, you did, but you bite your tongue instead. Since that day you told him to leave, you’ve been in denial, but you knew exactly that you were jealous and truly falling for him, you just didn’t want to admit it to yourself.
“It’s okay, I wasn’t the best at expressing it anyways. I wanted to tell you, but just seeing her, I don’t know, something just came over me also,” Jaehyun shook his head, gaze kept at the fried rice.
That’s when it hit you. Chaeyoung was his first love so of course, it wasn’t going to be easy for him to get over her, especially since they’ve dated since high school and he’s been waiting for her to come back. You couldn’t help but feel the sudden pang in your heart because you knew this was going to be harder than you thought. Jaehyun picked up on your expression but interpreted it the wrong way.
“But yeah, I did end things with her,” he emphasized.
“That’s good to hear,” you turned your head to the side. You didn’t want to discuss this anymore so instead of saying more, you turned around to get two plates from the shelf.
As you walked to the table, you could feel Jaehyun’s gaze on your back. He furrowed his brows, beginning to feel worried, was it something I said? Did I do something wrong? But I apologized...he pursed his lips to the side of his mouth in thought.
Your kitchen held an absence of silence, no one talked. You didn’t want to hear what he had to say about Chaeyoung, nor did he want to provoke you with it. Every time he looked at you, your gaze was always down at the plate in front of you, but you didn’t eat, you just stared and poked the vegetables.
“Do you not like it?” Jaehyun carefully asked.
“No, I like it,” you sighed and took a big bite. You filled your mouth so you didn’t have to speak, quickly finishing it, and offering to clean up, you needed the distraction and you didn’t want to be in the same room with Jaehyun.
You threw yourself on your bed, am I mad at him?...Or myself? you whined against the sheets. You tangled your fingers through your hair, wrecking your ponytail. This was one of the reasons you didn’t want to fall for him.
“Can’t she see that I’m trying?” Jaehyun whispered to himself, imitating your position, face down, and the sheets with muffled words. He angrily flopped his body like a fish out of frustration. You two were meeting his parents soon for dinner and he knew you both would have to fake it. As much as Jaehyun wanted to keep trying, he couldn’t help but think that maybe it was too late.
Friday came sooner than you thought, so here you were, peering at yourself and hoping that the Gucci Wool Silk Belted Jumpsuit did its justice. Hopefully, this isn’t too much, you tighten your belt. Grabbing your purse, you walked to the kitchen to see Jaehyun put the cap on the dish of food you made to bring.
“Oh, I could’ve done that,” you set your bag down, the chain creating a sound as it hit the table.
“It’s okay, I didn’t want to rush you in getting ready,” Jaehyun set the dish down, “but it smells good. You ready?” He asked.
“Yes, let’s go.” you put your shoes on, following him out to the car.
In the car, as silence drapes the car you peer out at the sunset, streaks of red, orange, and yellow pigment the sky as the lights of buildings accompany it. Jaehyun’s fingertips, slightly tapping the steering wheel along with the beat of the music and his low voice humming. Everything felt peaceful to you in this moment.
“Penny for your thoughts?” Jaehyun chirped beside you, noticing you staring out the window.
“Just thinking about city life,” you expressed, “sometimes it gets so busy, that I have to leave for a bit, but somehow...I always find myself coming back.” you chuckle.
“Me too, I enjoy the country, but I like the pace of the city, it’s exciting,” he commented.
The rest of the ride, you two talked about the small things you two found peace in. He likes the warmth of another’s arms, being able to leave work while it’s still light out, and the small victories throughout the day. He found out that you like going to the pier, embraces that last just a little longer, the moment after the rain stops, and heartfelt laughter. He chuckled when you added that you also like it when someone surprises you with sushi, tucking that information in the back of his head. He didn’t know why he even bothered to try to get to know you anymore, but when he heard you speak, it was like you spoke of poetry of admiration and love.
As Jaehyun gave one of the workers his car keys, he carefully grasped your hand and with hesitation, you accepted it. He could sense your tensity in the hold of your hands.
“Don’t be nervous, they’ve met you before and they adore you,” Jaehyun smiled, deep enough to set dimples into his cheeks.
You hoped that his words were true, that they held good assumptions of you. They didn’t know you personally, but you hoped that they had positive thoughts on you from the last couple of encounters, even if you were stubborn at their decision for your marriage.
“Y/n! Jaehyun!” Mrs. Jung came running to you, her dress flowing after her.
“Hi,” you smiled, hugging her.
“Glad to see you two,” Mr. Jung walked up to you two, “please, we’re about to have dinner soon,” he smiled.
Mrs. Jung took hold of the dish as Jaehyun led you to the dining room. Everything was beautiful. The chandelier alluded the cream-colored walls, the large chairs enveloped your body, and the dark wood table that stretched across the room was filled with delicacies exposing the savory aroma.
“So, y/n, Jaehyun tells us that you’re releasing a new collection,” Mrs. Jung began.
“Yes, it’s our Spring-Summer 2020 collection. We’re in the works of it right now,” you replied.
“How do you think your collection will do?” Mr. Jung asked.
Thrown off by the semi-pressuring question, you cleared your throat, “Our Spring-Summer collections are our most popular. We market and design based on the present trends and patterns, including our swimwear. Even though we are an international brand, with Jung Corporation, I believe that our brand can be recognized more with trading.”
Mr. Jung smiled, you felt like you were on a game show and he was the host. The speculation of it gave you shivers, every question he asked you made you nervous, afraid of saying the wrong answer.
“Wine, Miss?” one of the butlers swift next to you, crouching his body. He leaned the bottle of red liquid near your glass, almost as if he knew that you needed it.
“Oh, yes please,” you sighed, it’s going to be a long night.
“I’m thankful you think that way, Ms. y/l/n. Do you have any other plans for your future collections yet?” Mr. Jung sipped from his wine glass.
“Please, just call me y/n,” you smiled as genuine as you could, “and yes, for the autumn collection, we’re bringing in trench coats, as they’ve been the constant trend every year. Since our brand strives on simplicity and classic styles, we won’t be branching off to too many designs for that. Otherwise, we’re releasing a new collection of shoes, made for the cold weather, and innovative professional wear.” You affirmed.
Mr. Jung nodded in satisfaction. You hadn’t noticed Jaehyun gently holding your hand, squeezing it to help you release some tension you didn’t know you held. It was as if you were the boat floating in the middle of nowhere and he was the anchor that made sure you were still grounded. You blinked and relaxed your neck, not trying to give away that you were stressed at his arduous questions.
“Enough with the business talk, Myungsoo. How are your parents, y/n?” Mrs. Jung smiled.
“They’re well, my father’s back in the states for work, and my mother’s doing fine at Audace,” you replied.
Everyone continued conversing, occasionally Mr. Jung would chirp in, asking more questions about Audace. You didn’t know if he was more interested in your capability of holding the CEO position or your partnership with Jung Corporation, but the thought of it was charred once dinner was served. Unknowingly you were downing glasses of wine and each time you sipped, the smooth fluid never failed to soothe your throat.
Jaehyun on the other hand wasn’t having any of it. As everyone ate, his parents were embarrassing him about his younger days and he desperately wanted them to stop, he didn’t want you to hear any stories of him accidentally shooting a basket for the other team or that time when he cried for his mother the first night at youth basketball camp. Feeling humiliated, Jaehyun stole the bottle of wine from the butler and poured the remaining into his glass, filling it up to the brim each time.
By the end of dinner, touches of laughter were exchanged among the table, mumbles were heard from Jaehyun, and you both were both slightly tipsy.
“Honey, why don’t you two just stay the night? It’s not safe for you two drive in this state,” Mrs. Jung said.
“Yes, you two can stay in Jaehyun’s room, we’ll have the maids get everything ready.” Mr. Jung sent the maids off to tend the room.
You struggled to get up from the seat, of course, Jaehyun had a way higher tolerance than you, so he was quick to hold onto you, afraid that you’d knock your head on the table.
Jaehyun sighed, “can you help her on my back?” he asked his mother, nervous that you’d trip yourself up the stairs.
By the time Jaehyun walked up to his room, everything was set and he also realized that everything was almost the way he left it, except his bed. Since Jaehyun brought it to the apartment, his parents replaced it with a smaller one. So Jaehyun was careful when he bent to the side, letting you easily slide off of him. You huffed, massaging your temples and catching your breath before you propped yourself up on your elbows. You watched as Jaehyun walked to his standing mirror, loosening his tie. Your stomach began tingling seeing the sight in front of you, his tall physique hovered the mirror, his hair was gelled back, and his loosened shirt displayed a little patch of skin.
Fuck. You were sober enough to make decisions, but something about Jaehyun makes your mind go completely blank. You walk over to him as Jaehyun sees you in the reflection and turns around. You grabbed his nape pulling him in for a kiss, he stood tense, gripping onto your shoulders as if he was deciding whether or not to push or pull. You felt him decide when you felt his hands gently push you away.
“W-wait, maybe you shouldn’t do this, we’re both pretty out of it and not in our right minds,” Jaehyun faltered.
“I don’t care, I don’t care,” you repeated, shaking your head, “fuck being in our right minds, we never were.” You pressed your lips against him again and his grip on you softened as you wrapped both arms behind his neck, so you pushed yourself against him harder, hitting the wall. You both grunted from the impact, his steady hands wrapped themselves around your waist to bring you closer. You pulled away kissing his jaw and down his neck. Satisfied with your actions, Jaehyun wrapped his arms under your legs, wanting you to jump. When you did, he walked back to the bed and dropped you on it, you slightly gasped from the sudden impact.
Watching Jaehyun crawl to you and hover above you was definitely a sight, he looked at you with dark eyes before attacking your neck with harsh kisses and little bites, like the dinner wasn’t enough for him. You tangled your hands into his hair, letting out sounds that craved for him to do more. You let out a breathy moan when he found the sweet spot below your ear.
Jaehyun smirks against your neck, “You like that huh? Just wait until I rip this off of you,” he mumbled, unbuttoning your jumpsuit.
Before he could strip you, you quickly reacted by pushing him off and straddling him. Jaehyun was taken aback at your sense of domination as you lowered your gaze at him, “Yes, I loved that,” you smirked, “but I expected more from you,” you dragged your finger along his jaw, his neck, down to his collarbone, and then his chest. Your touch sent flames to Jaehyun’s body, earning an impatient groan from him.
You lower yourself until you’re kissing his neck again, you nip at his smooth skin, inhaling the cologne, everything turns you on at this rate. Jaehyun’s hands gripped your hips as you rose to take your time to unbutton his shirt until he got too impatient and tore it off himself. You’ve seen how his muscles strain the material of a shirt, but seeing them without it made the temperature in your body rise. You know he’s always been this fit, it just never occurred to you that he was this beautifully sculpted. There was a chain that delicately laid on his chest, you admired it for a while before kissing his bare chest, grazing your fingertips against his robust abdomen, and pecking at the small trail of hair from his belly button. You could feel him getting hard under your touch as his tip brushed against your thigh, you reached your hand down, gently putting pressure on his member. Earning a sudden but quiet groan from him, you continued palming him until he was in a frenzy.
“Stop teasing me angel,” Jaehyun grunted, you simper at the nickname and at how much power you had over him.
“Or what?” You poked your tongue against the inside of your mouth, impatiently waiting for his answer.
“Or else I’ll have to teach yo-” you cut Jaehyun off by smacking your lips against his.
You mumbled between kisses, “you...talk...too much.” You hooked your fingers around the loop of his pants, again, taking your time to unzip it. Jaehyun took over your actions and threw it off of him, him now being the one only in undergarments.
“I wanna fuck you so badly,” Jaehyun bit his lip, his hands clutching onto your hips as you unconsciously roll your clothed core against his member.
You chuckled at his statement of desperation, “fuck me senseless then,” you whispered, chills running down his spine at your sultry voice.
Jaehyun reached his head up to meet your lips, he grazed his tongue against your bottom lip, so you mimicked him as a way of letting him enter your mouth. You want to feel more, you need to feel more so you kept rolling your core against his hardened member. You let out a loud gasp, but Jaehyun quickly hushes you by biting the bottom of your lip, you narrow your eyes at him, wincing at the pain that brought unknown pleasure. His eyes were filled with starvation and lust as he strips you down to your bra and panties. You curse at yourself for not matching them, having no idea this would ever occur. Jaehyun didn't care though, because he was too busy treasuring the sight in front of him.
The tingling feeling that was once forgotten, returned and you needed it to be released from your system. You threw your bra and panties off, Jaehyun widens his eyes at how driven you were in your actions, but he did the same because he needed to feel you too. Soon there was nothing but skin. Jaehyun was hovering above you, his chain dangling in front of you and looked at you with questioning eyes, but you knew what he was wondering.
“Please,” you begged, you brought your hand to your clit, tracing circles.
“Okay, okay,” he tears your hand away, replacing it with his.
Jaehyun has a way with his fingers. The slender and long digits drew the most pleasurable shapes against the lips of your core and your clit, your breath hitched when he gave no warning and slipped two fingers into your pussy. Your back arched at the feeling it brought, especially when he curled those beautiful fingers of his. When he slipped his fingers out, a hasty whine escaped your lips from the empty feeling.
“Look at you-” he smirked from above, “-we’re not even fucking yet and I’ve already got you wrapped around my finger, angel.” he lowered himself near your neck, giving it marks that would stain your neck for the next couple of days.
You shoved him off of you, pushing him aside and straddling him, “I can’t help it when you make me feel so good,” you dragged your response.
You grabbed his hard member that laid on his lower stomach and aligned it against your pussy. You gave him a sly smile before slowly sinking on his length. The both of you let out a relieved moan, Jaehyun quickly flipped you over until you were under him again. He covers your mouth with his hand, looking at you with clouded eyes.
“My parents are home,” he muttered in your ear.
“I don’t care,” you yanked his hand from your mouth, reaching up to devour him again.
You flipped him back over until you were on top of him again. It seemed like you both were fighting for dominance over each other, so stop it, you raised yourself and sunk onto his member again, picking up the pace. The two of you panted as you continued, occasionally stopping to ride him so you could catch your breath, but after a while, you started to feel tired and you faltered your pace. Jaehyun took notice of it so he firmly grasped your hips and took control. You moaned in his mouth from the pleasure you were receiving from him. To make it more pleasurable, Jaehyun flipped onto your stomach and entering in from behind. He drove his cock into you, bustling at an intense pace. Soon, the room was filled with your pants, gasps, and Jaehyun groans and muffled curses. It stenched like sex and sweat but felt like heaven.
Unexpectedly, Jaehyun spanked your ass, gaining whimpers from you, “you like that huh? You like that don’t you, you little slut,” he panted.
You paid no attention to his words, blinded by the pleasuring feeling inside of you, “go faster.” you commanded.
Jaehyun flipped you back over so he could see you, see how tousled you look, “look at you, you're my bitch...and I...I own you,” he moaned, throwing his head back as his grip on your hips tightened enough to leave little blue patches the next day.
Jaehyun set the pace as fast as he could and moments later, you found your fingers between his now unstyled hair, gripping it, while his hands wandered your body. The familiar, desired feeling rose in the pit of your stomach, indicating that you were close. You could feel it coming and you sensed Jaehyun was close too by the way his hips messily buckled against your core and how loud and uncontrolled his grunts were. Rapidly, you came, his name slipping from your lips. You held onto your anchor as your body shook and as stars blanketed your vision.
It didn’t take long for him to come after you, he rested his forehead against yours, “look at me,” he commanded, you did as he said. He peered down at you with those dark orbs of his, orbs that sent you pleasure, yet unknowingly, pain at the same time.
“That was amazing.” he plopped beside you, hand on his stomach.
You laid there beside him, catching your breath too. When he got up to leave the bathroom, he came back with a warm, wet towel and wiped you down. You would flinch whenever he came close to your clit, having it still sensitive to be touched.
You were so tired from the wine and recent physical activity that you didn’t notice you knocked out. Jaehyun asked if you wanted to shower first, but realized you were already asleep, so he tucked you in, kissed your forehead, and made sure you were warm enough before he left. After showering, he joined you in bed, wrapping his arms around your waist. Everything was finally going smoothly, he smiled to himself.
It was 7 AM when you abruptly woke up, you could feel a pair of arms tighten their hold around you, and your stomach dropped. You instantly knew whose arms they belonged to because it was definitely not the first time they’ve been around you. The serene feeling didn’t sit well, you froze in your spot when the memories of last night burst at you. The dinner, the wine, you two...kissing. Oh no, you feel panic setting into your bones, you remember the remarks he said as he fucked you last night, the way he said it and you felt a wash of panic. You were clearly too comfortable in this situation and you desperately needed to get out. You needed to leave.
With closed lids, Jaehyun was on the brink of waking up as his arms searched for your warm body, your touch, but unexpectedly all he got in return was the cold, empty spot coming from the bedsheets. He shot up in bed, alarmed at your absent presence.
“Y/n?” He didn’t hear the shower go off, none of your soft footsteps could be heard, so he called you again, “y/n?” but there was nothing but silence.
Stillness enveloped him when he noticed that all of your belongings were gone, your clothes, your purse, your shoes. He called and texted you but you never answered. Jaehyun chucked a pillow to the floor in frustration and collapsed on the bed, hands rubbing his face and letting out a loud sigh. Jaehyun knew he fucked up.
