From Kian's pov, bitb is a tragedy. He dies three times over in the span of 48 hours, twice at the hands of someone he fell for. AND EVEN AFTER THAT he can't bring himself to hate or even distrust them. His heart is too goddamn big for his own good.

He never gave up on seeing Becky again. Even after seeing her drag a body into the woods. He still went to see her KNOWING FULL WELL that it wasn't her anymore. Because he truly believed he could still reach her, with the song he's kept close to his chest for OVER A DECADE. AND HE'S KILLED FOR IT.

In many ways he was right too, the people they used to be are still in there. Still conscious, still aware. Kian is able to peak through and communicate with his friends, if only briefly. And Rolan is able to break free entirely.

When Kian was resurrected, all his memories as that monster came flooding back to him. Including his death at Not!Becky's hands. Including his second death at Rolan's. All at once he receives the knowledge that the people he loved are no longer human, he has been deceived and killed by them.

He goes through all that, and he trusts Rolan completely. Rand second guesses Ro multiple times, and he didn't go through half of what Kian did. If he is at all afraid, he never shows it. When Not!Becky shoves him towards the community house, at first he thought she was trying to keep him safe from the others. This was her at full bug, no disguising as human, no acknowledgment of what he meant to the person she was. And he still holds out hope for her.

He barely lives half a day before he dies a third and final time. In a swamp, never having achieved his dreams, leaving no legacy or art of his own, only contributing some extra digits in someone else's bank account. He doesn't even leave a body behind.

Civil disobedience, act 4: art and symbols

Demonstration art could be one of the most powerful ways to convey your message. Iranians have been making art all over the cities these days.

Painting the city with blood: Putting red color in water bodies around the city. throwing red color at street signs specially those that reads Velayat (supreme leading system), hijab, and Kurdistan. putting red blood on pictures of Khamenei, Ghasem Soleimani, and police or judiciary signs. Coloring the university classes and corridors with red. One art classroom door in Alzahra university read "this classroom is covered in blood". These red colors represent the blood the regime has shed.

Pictures on the walls: Faces of our fallen martyrs. Anti regime pictures. They read: "you kill our love, you are our ISIS" "women life freedom" "women of Iran and Afghanistan against the violence of Talib and mullah" "fuck compulsory hijab" "from 2017 to 2022 this regime would fall like dominos" "ambu-lice (ambulances are being used to move policemen)". A religious figure hide behind religion playing his anti riot forces. On an alley named Azadi (freedom) someone has written "there was so much bravery hidden in this land".

(It's important to know that in Iran, mullahs don't represent religion as much as they represent the regime. For 40 years the turbans have been the heads of political powers. Most of those mullah pictures are directly targeting Khamenei the supreme leader)

Slogans on paper money: these ones say "women life freedom" "queer life freedom" "Baloch life freedom".

Khodanoor Lejei, symbol of the islamic republic cruelty: The bloody Friday in Zahedan was one of the darkest spots in Islamic republic brutal history. Opening fire on a crowd of praying Muslims before they even start protesting. Killing about 100 people of Baloch. But one picture stood out and stood as the face of inhumanity of the regime. Khodanoor Lejei was one of the victims of bloody Friday in Zahedan. An old picture of him went viral after his death. He was arrested a couple of months prior to Mahsa Amini murder and was treated with no dignity. Bound to a pole. water in front of his thirsty body but out of his reach. So in universities, sport games, streets and alleys people have been posing Khodanoor in bound to protest the cruelty. In the last two pictures, the signs read "political" (سیاسی) and "justice" (عدالت)!

Students sing revolution anthems. Artists make digital arts. Musicians make revolution songs. People dance and the security forces attack and arrest them.

There have been balloons flying over the cities with banners containing slogans on them. There have been banners on footbridges situated so that drivers would see them. People also have been writing slogans on billboards especially those that promote regime propaganda.

Azad university art students gathered in their campus, painted their palms red and raised their hands to the sky.

Meanwhile the regime forces broke into dormitories and stole students.

Some universities including mine design their campus trees and buildings with names of the murdered protesters or captured students and other revolution symbols (red tulip represents martyrs in Persian literature). The uni authorities take them down but the art students do it again.

After Kian Pirfalak, all over the country you could find paper boats and rainbows. Kian was a 10 year old boy who was murdered by the regime. There's a video of him starting with "in the name of the god of the rainbow" and continuing to explain his crafted boat. He wanted to become an engineer. Now paper boats are banned in universities.

One of the murdered protesters, Hamidreza Rouhi, loved riding motorcycles. He had a video online of him on a motorbike lip syncing to a song and pointing to the camera. A group of motorbike riders in Tehran, 7 day after his murder, gathered in front of his house, their motorbikes lined nearby, with pictures of him on each bike.

And in a recent symbolic act, a woman walked around Tehran streets as The Handmaid's Tale cosplayer. Very on point.

Don't think for a second that these civil ways of protesting are safe or easy. People have been arrested or shot in the head doing these.

People are capable of beauties but the regime can only make ugliness. That's the summary of this revolution.

interesting to me how the bitib guy would all be like. great at communicating different things. kian was a musician. he wrote lyrics. rolan was a lawyer. he argued cases. rand was a dm. he spun stories.

now that he doesn't have nicky to kill all of his free-time with, kian's been hard at work writing songs, and honestly speaking, it's been nice, healing almost, hanging out with his guitar even more than he was before. his coveted instrument is honestly his best friend, and he doesn't care if people think that that's odd of him to assert. it's been there for him during his darkest hours, and it always, always cracks his heart wide open whenever he's having a hard time expressing himself. he can't ever lie to his guitar, and he never would either.

after all, he's been told that the best music is written not only with raw emotion, but with immense truth, too. that's what makes it relatable enough to be felt, even by those whose hearts resemble stone.

tonight, he feels like he finally placed the finishing touches on a love song he's been working on, and after playing it through once or twice for himself, he knows he needs to seek out joomi for the final stamp of approval. if there's anyone he trusts with things like this, it's him.

this rapport between them started when kian was only in middle school, and it continues strongly into present day. whenever he finishes something, he rushes over to joomi for his thoughts like clockwork, and being that he knows joomi often stays late in a very specific studio-space, he charges toward it with intent; swinging the door open when he gets there.

"joomi!" he exclaims, then stops dead in his tracks. "o-oh... i'm sorry," he apologizes when he realizes he's interrupting someone else's work time. though, it seems strange to him. it's after hours, and normally, joomi is occupying this space come hell or high water. regardless, he bows toward the person in question, and when he stands up straight again, it dawns on him that he recognizes the person parallel to him.

brows furrowing, he takes a step closer to him, then grins; sheepish. "wait... you're ren, right?" hopefully it's not creepy that he knows this person's name. "i'm kian! i've heard a lot about you from joomi. he's like my brother." letting the door shut behind him, he leans his back against it; becoming more comfortable. "d'you know if he's around? i wanna play him a song i've been workin' on..."

pausing, he can't help but wonder if it's rude that he's not really acknowledging that ren is also a musician in his own right, and that, if anything, his opinions could be helpful, too. "if he's not here, maybe i can borrow your ears for a sec? i-if that's okay with you!"

SOFTEST OC: piper ellis from midnight hours. another former detective from wayhaven. she’s a huge disney fan. she keeps tickets (plane, concerts, movies, amusement parks, etc) and pins them on a cork board alongside polaroid pictures. she’s introverted, soft spoken and sooo shy. she’s so easily flustered that she makes nikolas look like the biggest flirt 😭 also kirsten adler from golden. she’s sentimental and timid but less introverted than piper. she’s just self-conscious because she knows that one wrong move and the media will twist it into something that can ruin her dad’s image. she talks nonstop once you bring up something she’s extremely passionate about <3

Rand was born hungry.

He was hungry for bigger things than this small town. He was hungry for something more than the same food from the same four restaurants in town. He was hungry for something different.

And for the longest time Rand couldn’t put a name on it. He had okay parents a baby sister and a handful of trusted friends. But he finally got a taste of it the first time he wrote a story for an English assignment.

It was something basic, very childish, maybe stolen from a book he read, but still the teacher handed it back with a smilely sticker and a note that said that he was a great writer and should keep it up. The teacher proabbly put that in everyone’s paper, or maybe they hoped it would encourage Rand to focus in class more often but either way it didn’t matter.

He was hungry for stories, for far away places, or something magical even. He wrote short stories with a frenzied passion, that eventually led to doodling, which eventually led to dnd. Which then led to Kian and Rolan.

Kian was everything Rand thought he was hungering for. He was from somewhere outside of town, had the coolest weirdest parents ever and talked about a wonderplace called Hollywood. Rand would listen to Kian talk for hours about the best musicians of all time and listen to him pluck at his old guitar. They tried to start a band, but quickly quit due to, creative differences.

Kian was hungry for it, Rand knew, but as far as Rand was concerned he had already made it. Kian would have his cake and eat it too, and Rand, he would be there with him, feasting.

Rolan was different though, ever since the first day of 2nd grade, Rand knew there was something different about him. If Rand was hungry, then Rolan was starving.

what if, after a while of traveling around to clear their heads, they settle down somewhere. maybe kian has a place in california. he may not have made it as a musician, but he did well for himself in other ways.

maybe they share a room because they’re too paranoid to sleep alone. maybe they share a bed, idk. though, it might be a bit of trouble to find a sleeping situation with enough space for all three of them + barc, since he’s there too. and he’s gotten used to rolan at this point and has stopped trying to maul him.

they probably keep to themselves for a while, but eventually they start rejoining society. sometimes kian puts on shows at little venues. not a lot of people show up but it doesn’t matter, because rolan and rand are there, and they’re his biggest fans in the whole world. hell, maybe they join in every now and then. the two may not be as musically inclined, but it is what it is. they have fun and they do it together. it’s not just them though, either. they start making friends, and after a while have their own little community.

it’s hard at first, but they make things work. and maybe a few years down the line, once they’ve all come to terms with what happened to them, one of them (rand) gets an idea. maybe what happened wasn’t a one-off thing. maybe it’s happened before, or maybe it’ll happen again.

and they do their research. they find out all they can about anything similar that’s ever happened, and look for disappearances and other strange unexplainable things for signs of something bad happening again, and they set to work.

back in galloway, they had defeated the queen/elder brain/heart and saved the town. they may have lost rand’s sister in the process, but her sacrifice led to enough good to make it worth it. and the most important thing is, they found out how to deal with these monsters. and now fast forward a few years, (they haven’t been back to galloway but they’ve gotten plenty of grateful letters and phone calls from the survivors. the town is rebuilding, and they may or may not be known as The Heroes Of Galloway. anyway,) they have to again. this time, on their terms. and they also may have very briefly used rolan as a bit of a guinea pig to test any potential weaknesses these bugs may have. (it was his idea, so it’s fine.)

so they gather up the friend group they’ve found wherever they’re staying, and they explain what happened. people are pretty freaked out when rolan reveals his less human features, but that’s more than enough proof that the boys aren’t screwing with them. and they gear up, and set out to stop new hives as they happen. and maybe they discover more extra-dimensional occurrences, and they do their best to deal with those too.

and idk maybe they become this wacky team of mid-thirties polyamorous monster hunters who protect people form monsters, and maybe even monsters from people sometimes. they write down everything they learn, too, since they’re not gonna be around forever. and maybe over time their group grows. and by the time they’re old and retired, there’s a whole secret organization doing the thing.

but that’s just an idea. maybe an offshoot of my good ending au. in the main version of it is this but they don’t start hunting monsters, they just vibe and recover. this might be cool too though.

- their band name is final girl, like the horror movie trope! mercy is a big fan of horror or gore or anything spooky. the name has been the same since the band was started, and it’s always been fitting since they are a punk band with a female lead and the aesthetics to match the ongoing horror theme!!

Besties: What’s their friendship with Rowan like? What are some things only he knows about them?

- she and rowan are super close!! he’s her best friend in the band. only he knows the full extent of her delusions LOL every day she texts him that she is fully convinced orion wants her bad and every day he says “u are literally insane ❤️”

Beginnings: When and how did they know they wanted to be a professional musician? Was there a deciding factor?

- kian was a bored and lonely child and his parents felt enough guilt that they enrolled him in piano lessons so he could have Something to do(idk how canon this could be but its canon To Me). he was a natural, and he loved it. it was his introduction to his love for music and for a while he did think he’d pursue it as a career but ultimately decided it would be boring and his dream switched to being a famous rockstar instead. going to his first live shows, discovering misfit alley, and meeting seven/eventually starting the band in high school solidified that goal

Bandmates: How do they feel about the members of the band? Would they still be interested in stardom if they weren’t with that group?

- hes close to everyone in the band in his own ways. mostly rowan and devyn tho. rowan is a partner in crime, they have the most fun together and will always find a way to piss off orion. devyn is the rational one and kind of a calming presence. they got closer after the whole party/seven fiasco. if he didnt have the band i think he’d still pursue that kind of music, but probably as a solo singing type thing

- he did keep the tattoo and he also doesnt conceal it on stage. so something about kian is that he is absolutely terrified of needles. hes never gotten piercings or any other tattoos, and the one tattoo he has for seven is a testament to how much he loves him bc it was a whole ordeal just to get it. so besides the fact that he is still horribly in love with sev, he also will not get it removed or covered bc he acts like sitting in the chair and being touched with the needle again is the same as being tortured to death. he says that he will get it removed once seven gets it removed, but the thought of seven removing his initials makes him ill 🤕 its like his last shred of hope that seven doesnt completely hate him

* ♪ – the take over, the break's over

joomi is pretty exhausted these days. it's hard adjusting to training; the long days and the abundance of dancing. every part of him is tired, but he still finds time to enjoy the halloween festivities with the dead calm boys over the weekend. he's been interested in checking them out, but knows he'd feel lonely going by himself. it feels like a family affair, and it feels like these guys are the closest he has to family these days.

it's still bittersweet. he's leaving behind performing with them for training to debut as a kpop idol, of all things, but despite the dancing, he's enjoyed it more than he expected. he has friends in delta already; new opportunities to grow as a songwriter and musician, better equipment to record music with. even with the dancing, it's kind of fun. he keeps telling himself, too, that it's a three month probationary contract: it's worth a shot, and if he doesn't like it, he can stop. he doesn't know where the others will be in three months–– probably off chasing their own dreams ––but he tries not to worry about it too much. he'll do his best now, and see where he ends up by january.

in the meantime, he still feels a little sorry, especially to yejun, who seems to have taken up the mantle of taking care of the others while joomi is too busy. he never meant for someone else to have to shoulder that responsibility. he doesn't know what's going to happen to dead calm as a band, but it's probably on yejun to decide now, and he knows their drummer doesn't want to deal with that. joomi honestly doesn't know how much yejun wants to deal with kian, kou and cam anyway; mainly kian and kou, since cam is busy with his own training, too.

they're at a stall selling ceramic halloween figures; family friend black cats and pumpkins, mainly, with some unimposing witches sprinkled in. kou, kian and cam ran off to try their hand at some of the games at the market, leaving joomi and yejun alone for now.

"thank you. for looking after everyone, while i sort of can't," he says, maybe a bit suddenly. "i still feel bad. i know you signed up to play drums in a band, not to...be a chaperone, and you kind of...haven't had a choice, but, i appreciate it anyway. and you know, even if i'm going to be busy most of the time, i'm still going to have my phone on me, and you can call me or text me if you need anything. i'll set your number to come through even when i'm on do not disturb."

maybe he's taking all of this too seriously; making it a bigger deal than it actually is. he knows he has a tendency to do that, but it is a big deal to him. he can't help it.

rupert’s younger brother who’s finally escaped their (wealthy, picture perfect but neglectful) parents’ clutches. now living with his older brother – who hasn’t quite perfected life, but has a better grasp on the real world than he does. spoilt and bratty, but cannot possibly live with his parent’s indifference or judgement anymore (think jill from friends). has a garage band with three of his english boarding school buddies….they’re obviously all so gritty. they play in rupert’s garage, much to his chagrin. lowkey they do love each other a great deal, and his older brother is relieved he found a way out…or woke up, even remotely. determined to get him into the real world, even if he’s oblivious to it, after living in a neglectful bubble with his in home nanny all his life, living off his father’s cards. flirts with anyone older than he is. ignorant but only because he doesn’t know what he doesn’t know. needs a wake up call.

born to a working class family, flo has been interested in singing since before she could even walk or talk. even her mumblings sounded melodic. her family knew that she had a gift the very first time she partook in a school show, and she sung her little heart out. it seemed like she must’ve been bigger on the inside, because her lungs were incredibly strong. the issue was money. a daunting struggle, yet one both parents took on head on. they found her a singing coach, and they became like an aunt / second mother to her. she showed tenacity and a willingness to try hard and never, ever give up. whilst she wasn’t particularly academic, and she struggled with dyslexia, she tried hard at school, so that she was able to take part in all the school shows. she joined every amateur group going, and performed however and whenever she could, just to perform. she took to busking on the street, simply loving the experience and the buzz she got from it, not expecting it to get her anywhere. it was all for the fun of it, for her joy of performing. through her passion, her hardwork and determination, she won a scholarship, which allowed her to work with some of the greatest and brightest within the industry. since then, she’s played a plethora of roles in opera companies, all of which have inspired her to reach for the stars. she likes to have fun, but is deathly protective of her voice, so she can be relatively quiet outside of the theatre. there’s a shyness to her that plenty don’t understand, but what they really don’t understand is that when she’s on stage; she’s a free bird, she’s someone else, someone new. in person…she’s just flo.

Going off of GDP-1987/Charles Allumina.

1. What they plan to do to the lost prototype of GDP-1987 once they recontain it.

2. Very strict. Outside of one person/droid, everyone else is an acquaintance, the one person being GDP-1983/Melody/Kian, an old member of the squad that 1987 was in a relationship with.

3. 1987 and Charles both don't show their genuine emotions to mostly anyone.

4. They don't really have an old hobby that they miss. They grew up during a time of a World War, forcing Charles to rely entirely upon himself and his friend to grt whatever they needed. If anything, that they miss, it is their humanity and the people they lost during their lives.

5. While yes, they could cry on command if need be, they don't have much of any use for it outside of manipulation.

6. The perfect life they'd recommend is to be mostly isolated and to enjoy the peace and quiet. Oh, and music.

7. I have high doubts much of anything would be able to get his attention. Maybe saying that they have 1983/Kian might set them off, but that is only if there is proof and they aren't trying to just be (for lack of words) emptily threaten them out.

8. Very strict, they have 1983/Melody, and outside of that, they don't say it to anyone.

9. Genuinely uncertain. Off the ship thing I wrote between 1987 and Elias, I'd say it depends on the situation. If nothing bad is happening, soft. Otherwise, tough.

10. Nothing much really. They only really live a tough life.

11. If impersonating Charles, all one would have to ask is how old they are. No one is aware of how old '87 is.

12. If '83/Mel/Ki tells a really bad joke. Like dad joke stuff. Outside of that, if they warned someone of something bad happening and it then happening.

13. Not much. They don't smile often either unless in a fight and is playing with their food.

14. They dont have candles.

15. Work/outside of their isolated place they found for home, Charles is all work oriented. Super keen on the senses they have, ready to fight at any moment. At home, more lax.

16. They constantly think of any way they could fight Director Adrian Klauss (the head Director of DPHF).

17. Any damages that could potentially reveal the true identity, and then they immediately fix it. Others usually notice how cold their presence in general is.

18. 1983/Kian/Melody. He's trying to also help bring back their memory together after DPHF found a way to wipe 83's system memories

19. Either kill or kidnap them. Depends if they have info that 87 wants.

20. They respect the effort Director Klauss has to gone to keep the legacy of his father intact. Outside of that, he absolutely despises him.

21. Common etiquette in their world would be not going into any transhumanisms, like replacing parts of themselves for robotic parts or adding nanobot storage units for use. As Charles, he shows that one arm and opposite leg are robotic, which also shows two nanobot storage units. One on the hand, the other on the forearm.

22. Pulling out any sort of droid checking device. The flesh they still have hides the droid parts from the systems, but it still slightly puts tem enough on edge.

23. All the droid checking devices they have put out. They've caught a good amount of missing prototypes using the tech Charles has made.

24. No.

25. They are a really good musician. Music has nothing to do with the plot, and I don't plan on adding any points where he reveals this either.

26. Being the head droid hunter of DPHF and a leading medical researcher, he'd probably find a way to interrogate everything the person that is replacing them, kill them, and continue to work there. Then maybe kill the boss.

27. The gift of immortality is both the worst and best gift they have gotten.

28. They tell people that they want to have a world where they no longer have to worry about a robot uprising. What they truly want is a revolution and imprison those that wants to continue the Klauss' Droid Soldier Program.

29. Usually intimidation, or proves them about it. They dont often get into a spot where that happens.

30. The mistakes that are made usually end up in death, so he does whatever he can to get himself and 1983 out of therey with no second thoughts about the lives they used to save their own. Amazing what happens when ones mentality is manipulated to lose almost all empathy.

31. Usually, it's if 1983 gets injured. They go full protective until they've patched 1983 up and they are back to fully functional.

32. The amount of crimes he has already committed is absurd, treating the Geneva Convention essentially as a checklist. Petty crime is nothing in comparison.

35. The smallest questionable choice they've made? Charles straight up murked a man just because he didn't like the guys attitude.

38. They act bad at long range shooting in front of others but are actually great at it.

39. Rather excluded. He prefers people being 100% up front with the truth.

40. They don't really do handshakes. Highly ranked enough where if he is in public he has personal droid guard that he designed to be around him. When he does do handshakes, he doesn't care if they are tight or loose.

41. They have picked up different battle mannerisms from taking apart different model droids that were on the brink of falling apart and putting them into his own programming. He also has gotten a small bit of Director Klauss' arrogance.

42. They likely wouldn't even show up.

43. Any time someone turns around and goes "Well, Charles..." he immediately readies up a weapon. As long as they don't go off on about how they figured out who he actually is, he apologizes about it, and that they assumed they were about to be killed.

44. Any language honestly. They are part droid, after all.

46. Listener. Only thing that will make them talk is if they are wrong about information or have an idea they have that will improve something 1987 wants to actually work.

50. I personally don't agree with killing people just because you don't like the attitude they have. So many better reasons to want someone's head.

What made you think you were different?", "The only way I will know rest is when I allow it.", "The people who made me centuries back couldn't kill me. The government who tracked me once couldn't destroy me. Able to improve myself through the years, what makes you think you can?" or "You can forget who I am, and I'll spare you. Forget this happened. This isn't a fight you will win."

52. The system runs multiple simulations of what may happen before they act on what to do.

55. Genuinely no idea. They'd probably hate detaining things for holding and research.

56. Scare/Fear is not an emotion that is genuinely felt by 1987.

58. They haven't had much hobbies. Designing new machines, farming, and building a house is something they have done once before.

If you didn't know, they are one and the same. Charles is the name he goes by when he is with other actual people. GDP-1987-MAID-B (Medical Assault Infiltration and Interrogation Droid Model B) was the assigned name when Charles was taken as a child for a government project to perfect AI during a war. He works at the Droid Prototype Holding Facility (DPHF), a place where many prototypes that have been recovered from that war are held, questioned, destroyed, researched, and more. He plans on destroying that place from the inside out. Now you know why if any answers seem weird.
