im so curious-- how well does DUDrow get on with the other companions? I've only seen your art and going off that I feel like: he gets along with Shadowheart, Gale I think he borderline cant stand, and Wyll/Lae'zel/Karlach I have no idea how he'd feel about them but id love to know!

So, funfact, because I was not familiar with these kinds of games at the time I played BG3, I practically stuck with the same exact party the entire playthrough. I distinctly remember swapping Wyll in for Astarion once at the end of act 2 because I thought he NEEDED to be there to find Mizora, and I replaced Gale with Karlach when I went to kill Gortash. Otherwise... It was pretty much always just DU drow, Shadowheart, Astarion and Gale. I did this because they were the characters I liked most, so I wanted to see all they had to offer.

Anyways, I mention this because it reflects how DU drow related to everyone - which is to say that he didn't. He picked his favorites (two because he liked them, one because he has fireball) and didn't get particularly close to anyone else.

BUT, there were definitely notable dynamics!

Lae'zel: She's dead. He killed her night 3 or something. Before that he thought her annoyingly demanding and over the top. I don't think DU drow even remembers her by the end of the game.

Gale: Just to add to your original observation, Gale and DU drow have a little bit of history. Gale tries, for about half of the campaign, to pursue him romantically. DU drow keeps turning him down and is either misinterpreted or ignored, and by the time Gale does give up on him their relationship has completely soured to the point where they are constantly shooting daggers at each other. (this reflects a romance bug I got in my first run, except I didn't realize it was a bug. Either way I think its more interesting storytelling than the intended experience.)

Wyll: DU drow was profoundly frustrated by Wyll every step of the way. He found him to be incredibly naive and a bit delusional in his pursuit for heroism, and could never relate to Wyll's perspective or choices - the few he made for himself, at least. They definitely had the least in common and DU drow avoided interacting with him most of the time.

Halsin: He didn't care for Halsin much. He was vaguely helpful but by the time they got to the shadow-cursed lands DU drow had the impression he'd only been dragged here to help him clear his conscience, which he didn't appreciate. Also, he couldn't bear to have someone in camp be taller than himself. Halsin was left behind in Act 2.

Jaheira: DU drow fucking loves Jaheira. They bickered and borderline insulted each other and had a great time doing it. He can respect anyone who will call him a monster, threaten to murder him in his sleep, and make light fun at him the next day. It helps that she's hot, also.

Minsc: Weird hamster man. Ocasionally rendered him speechless. Puzzling human being.

Karlach: He didn't get Karlach, but he was often amused by her and curious enough to want to hear what she had to say. There was a similar issue here as Wyll's where he just couldn't relate to her enough to have much to discuss, but Karlach at least had an edge to her that made her far better company. They got along pretty well when the topic wasn't serious, but when it came to the problems she actually faced their perspectives shifted significantly. DU drow thought everything could be fixed, that accepting her own demise was a cowardly thing to do - and as they approached the end, and she asked him if he would stay with her when she died, he thought she was weak. I don't know if he ever discusses it with anyone, but he feels guilty about her death to this day and sees it as personal failure.

Yesterday there was the opportunity in my city to go see 4 people from Fortiche Production talk about their work on Arcane season 2, and not only was it interesting, but I was pleasantly surprised that I actually got to see some stuff with Sky in it!

She has such little screen time, I didnt expect to see anything with her, but one of the animator was showing the work they did for Viktor's Commune, and there was 2 illustrations of Viktor and Sky to, and I quote, "show their connection"! My skyvik heart was so happy to see two drawings I had not seen yet of Viktor and Sky interacting, and I was wondering if those two illustrations were in the art book, or in the exposition, because pictures were forbidden and I wish to see them again! Both drawings take place in the astral plane, the first one was of Viktor and Sky floating around a ball of light, looking at it, and the second one — my favorite one — was a drawing of Sky huge compared to Viktor, Viktor was barely bigger than her hand, and from Sky's fingers there were lines of light that came out of it and linked her to Viktor's small hand, the lines of light looked like constellations. I made very rough doodles to try and remember their positions in those drawings, it kinda looked like this :

If anyone knows if those two drawings are in the artbook or if pictures of them exist somewhere, hit me up!

Apart from that, one of the animators that specialized in FX 3D talked about how hard it was to do the effects of Sky's second death, they struggled with doing what they called "the cheese pattern" so the circles that are everywhere in the Commune and that is the pattern of the magic that makes Sky disappear. So to show us the process he showed us the effects of the magic he had to add on the 3D models of Sky in that moment

So Sky's face looked exactly like in the end product, except that she still had fully black eyes like in those storyboards ! It was cool to see it not just in drawings but in the animated 3D model of Sky!

And similarly, he showed us the effects on 3D Viktor they had to add for when his mask was broken and there were colors behind it, so for that moment :

And his eyes were also fully dark, exactly like Sky's ! I did not know he also used to have his eyes completely black for that moment, it looked cool!

And a funfact that I think only French and Belgian people can understand, but one of the animators explained that when Sky and Viktor explore Vander's mind, the organic side of it was inspired by the French cartoon "Il était une fois...La vie" ! For those who don't know, it's an educational cartoon to teach children about the human body and its functions, so we follow characters that represent different body functions walk and live in the body !

It is so funny, now I want to draw Sky and Viktor as the two human-like characters that are in the body from that cartoon!

when he's incredibly focused, he sticks his tongue out a little. it's usually hidden by his mask, though, so most don't know he does it.

^ he almost constantly has a little wet spot on his mask from doing that. it's not obvious or anything, he's not drooling all over it, but it's there lmao (this is a shared headcanon, and my pal kade came up with it)

definitely a cat person

Horangi had a very solitary nature until he joined the army. he still kind of does, but by the time he joined KorTac he'd been conditioned to be around others and it doesn't bother him as much

smokes, but pretty casually. heavy smoking is an addiction he left behind with gambling.

he likes the snow!! (though over the years, he finds himself preferring to just look at it. the cold irritates his scars)

he likes thrillers, and cooking shows.

^ watches Nailed It! at like four in the morning to laugh at them (this is projection)

mostly lets out amused huffs/snorts instead of 'properly' laughing. (basically a human version of tiger chuffing!! chuffing has been described as sounding like car exhaust, snorts, and/or huffs, and it's vaguely akin to purring. in general, it's the sound of a very happy kitty, but it's also used for greetings and courtship. just a funfact :3)

^ on the topic of noises; grunting in response to things, those quiet grumbles that almost sound like growls when he's frustrated, etc.. gotta have tiger-like vocalizations for mr. tiger man

he can see exceptionally well in the dark, and he has an almost scarily good sense of smell.

sharp teeth, big yawns, and even bigger smiles.

his hair's almost always silky smooth (maybe just slighty coarse, at some points, but never too dry or brittle). not even he understands how he manages it.

Horangi has hypogeusia. it's a taste disorder that causes reduced taste and can make it hard to differentiate certain flavors. it isn't severe in his case, and it mostly affects his ability to taste sweetness.

^ he prefers foods that have much stronger tastes, because its easier to, well, taste them. while his disorder mainly hinders tasting sweet things, foods in general can taste a bit bland to him if they arent powerful enough.

smells 'warm'. citrus, cedar, spices, ginger, etc. (burberry brit for men is the cologne im thinking of for him). also always smells like cigarette smoke. definitely not overwhelmingly though; it's there, but mostly covered by the aforementioned scents.

he's actually pretty good at baking, which is ironic because most of the time he can barely taste what he's making.

massive spicy food enjoyer. feast mode ACTIVATED, he will tear that shit up. better pray you get some before him because there will be none left after he's done.

his favorite color is pink!

it's scary how quiet he can be. he's stealthy, a complete master of the hunt. you'll turn around and he'll Literally Just Be There like "hey man."

cannot find a pair of matching socks literally ever. the divorce rate between them is astonishing.

he reads/has read the classics, for sure. from historical texts, to renowned novels. i think he especially enjoys the iliad. also massive stephen king fan probably.

he'd take a strongly steeped cup of tea over coffee any day (though frequently he caves and drinks the latter for caffeine purposes)

Cedric is such a dork for vampires, please talk to him about them and he will tell you these (annoying) facts about them. He wanted to be a vampire, he still does, most likely watched Twilight with his mom and he's very ashamed that he in fact did NOT gain a crush on Edward but actually on Jacob. He can't help himself, have you seen him with long hair?? He's very fond of Baxter and thinks he secretly a vampire, he does have a teeny tiny crush on Qiu and Baxter

I've talked about Charlie(they/them) before but i can never get enough. Charlie is so competitive it doesn't matter if its friendly they want to be first, saying that when it comes to school they are not your strongest solider, im sorry but Charles is dumber than a rock (the exact opposite of my next mc). They love exploring and going outside, please don't make them go inside they'll die or boredom. They didn't get along with Ren at first because of them being non-binary and not being able to join the boys club, they warmed up though! I feel like Charlie would either be obsessed with Dinosaurs or Robots, Charles definitely will later on switch it up and become obsessed with stars :D

I've been waiting for this mc, this pretty boy is Tulio(They/He/She)! I named her after this guy on insta, Tulio is the prettiest thing he enjoys pretty things (like his best friend, Qiu) they are the nicest person you will ever meet, polite, smart and kind, someone you'd want your parents to meet (hopefully) Tulip is such a flower nerd, hence the nickname Tulip. (funfact i named him Tulio/Tulip since Tulips are my favorite flowers, his last name is also a flower, Rosa = Rose) I head cannon that he has a green thumb! Tulio is genderfluid and is okay with any pronouns, they have a BIG fat crush on Baxter Ward. Especially since Baxter saved her from falling off the bike, but they also like Baxter since hes very formal and polite (plus Baxter is pretty!!) Tulip is currently my top favorite mc!

Okay so raro is actually an album from my favorite music band (el cuarteto de nos)

The cover of the album has a dude with glasses which is whom we call "Raro" but he actually has a canon name: Sanroalri

ik his name is weird but its because its a mashup of the names of every member in the band (at the time) Santiago, Roberto, Alvin and Riki. And the reason why his name is a mashup its because his face is ALSO a mashup of every face of the members

In fact, the album's CD version has a little book with some extra photos and details and almost at the end of it you can see kinda like a "face plan" of Sanroalri/Raro! (I had to see raro without shirt against my will to bring you this screenshot btw.....)

Funfact: Raro originally was about to look A LOT uglier. Like, he looked like a crackhead i swear. And the only reason why they changed it was because Alvin The Drummer (With Common Sense) said to roberto that the version they were originally going for gave nightmares to whoever looked at him

ANOTHER GODDAMN TIMEBOMB TANGLED AU HCs BEcause why not...

Idk if ive wrote this in one of my Tangled AU HCs tho but regardless...

Look look, listen-- this is just a headcanon for this AU. I know that Vi and Powder's parents fought at the bridge, and it wasn't explicitly said they were close to Vander (muchless Silco). So with all that said, if you're gonna be mad that I used their mother as a love interest for Vander and Silco and that this is inaccurate, then do not read lmao.

When Vander and Silco were young, theyre fighting over a young woman lmao

The woman is close to the two since shes part of the vigilante group that want to fight for Zaun, so they know her very well.

But it turns out she was already engaged to someone else, and few years later, she had a daughter named Vi 🥲

After hearing all this, Silco and Vander tried to forget their little fight and focused on making Zaun independent (that is until they fought again about how to run the city and Vander won over- Silco got the nasty eye)

When the lady's husband died from the war at the bridge, Vander offered to help her out as a stand in uncle for Vi and her soon to be sibling.

So when the woman fell ill all while pregnant with her 2nd child, she asked Vander to take care of her children if she ever passed away.

Silco on the other hand was bitter from his and Vander's fight. Not only that, he despised the fact that Vander gets to be close to his unrequited love all while he has to suffer alone. He soon managed to form a group dedicated to idealistic future for zaun where he gets to rule over it with the use of shimmer, provided by Singed (who agreed bc he is interested in testing humans)

So when Silco heard that the lady he once fell in love with got ill, it was his chance to introduce her to shimmer. He convinced her it was medicine, and overtime she took it regularly. Turns out it did ease the pain but after effects would put her in dire situation.

The Lady didnt know about the quarrel between Vander and Silco, so she didnt shoo away Silco when he approached her with "medicine"

Meanwhile, Vander was oblivious on whats going on at first bc he was busy protecting the citizens from abusive enforcers. It was too late when The Lady was on her last breath while struggling to give birth to Powder

He did what he was told and took in the daughters, but it wasnt long until Silco and his henchmen raided their home and stole Powder.

Funfact: Silco doesn't like Vi because she looks like her later father (terms of hair and eye shape), while Powder/Jinx is his favorite because she resembles a lot like her mother. Thats also the reason why Silco locked her up to keep her safe (and he knows for sure whatever illness her mother has, she might inherit it).

Though ofc he's still ever so distant to Jinx and neglectful of her feelings because she's another man's daughter and that alone tore him. (Look, he really fell for the lady, this was a huge slap to his face 🙃)

Bonus slap was when the lady chose Vander over him to take care of her children bc she trusts him more than anyone else

Another fact: Silco forbid Jinx to wear her hair up in braids because it'll remind him too much of the lady 💀 (her late mother wears her hair in braids, its a signature look for her ✨️)

Not-So Fun Facts

Sally is an addict. Mostly narcotics (cocaine), but she has a collection of prescription drugs, too.

She came to Home recovered, but Howdy got her hooked again

She regularly hallucinates being outside, despite not having left her house in about six years.

I imagine her hallucinations are really unnerving, like liminal space. Something just isn’t right.

Some people have argued with me that Sally shouldn’t “be in such good shape”, but shes really not. She’s just thin, doesn’t mean shes healthy, in fact she’s just thin because she regularly skips meals either because she forgets or because shes high. Cocaine skinny isn’t in shape, PSA lol

Sally’s house is really, really gross. Sally wears shoes all the time in her own house because you literally can’t see the floor anymore and she’s scared of what she’ll step on. Its all trash, boxes from packages, noodle containers, definitely does not smell pleasant.

She fears social interaction so much, if she were to overdose, she would rather die then call for help. Not even her survival instincts overpower her agoraphobia.

How long is your roleplay experience? i don't know exactly how many years since i sometimes have years where h don't rp but i've been rping on and off since i was 11-12.

How were you introduced to roleplaying as a whole? oh gosh, so ff.net used to have (maybe still has, i literally have not been on that site in ages) these like... forums? and i joined one for elder scrolls rp a little after oblivion came out. i was far and away the youngest one there but everyone was so nice in helping me turn my character into a proper oc with like... backstory, a real personality, etc. after that, i spent a lot of time using it to try and grow my creative writing skills.

How were you introduced to TOA? honestly i just stumbled across it randomly! i had just replayed a few fe games and was looking through some tags and thought it might be fun to try fire emblem rp (i'd done some on indie tumblr back in the day, as well as in an mfrp a little bit, but never fire emblem exclusive rp) so i sent arden to check it out and, well, here we still are.

Do you believe you have a type of character you gravitate towards writing? (If you filled this out last year, has this changed in any way?) i'm kind of all over the place, aren't i? i like characters where i can poke at hidden depths but ones who aren't too closely guarded. i like characters who are shy, withdrawn, standoffish, guarded, etc. in some way but who open up when spoken to. i don't think this has changed since last year, i've been writing for a long time and kind of know my comfort zone.

Do you have characters or types of characters you don’t think you can handle writing, but wish you could? boisterous/loud and over the top characters always challenge me, but i've never really managed to make them work, which is a shame because i tend to enjoy lively characters!

What kind of scenes, situations etc do you believe you enjoy writing the most? How were you introduced to roleplaying as a whole? Gamefaqs had a thread where you could create your own Fire Emblem Fates character. I joined out of curiosity when i was like 13 or so and things just kinds went from there.

How were you introduced to TOA? Rosie, my online big sis, sometimes shared snippets of her experiences with me. I got curious and the rest is history.

Do you have any pets? I have an elderly doggy named Beef :)

What is your favorite time of year and why? (Season, holiday, general period) Winter, definitely. I'm a cold over heat kinda girlie and I like the early nights and cold weather. Perfect for soup!

What is your IRL occupation? IT support service worker and Maid Cafe waitress during the weekends.

Do you have characters or types of characters you don’t think you can handle writing, but wish you could? Very masculine types. Manly Men or Muscle Himbos are characters I greatly enjoy but just don't like to write.

What kind of scenes, situations etc do you believe you enjoy writing the most? I like writing scenes where characters bond with each other, either over an earnest heart to heart or silly shenanigans.

Do you have any scenario in mind for your muse(s) that gets you thinking “man I hope I get to write this one day”? I would love to write a scene where the mask just fully crumbles and the entire truth is revealed about my muses deepest feelings. Also for Byleth specifically I'd love to write post timeskip scenes where he's in touch with his emotions and takes on the role of Archbishop.

Favorite TOA-related memories? A specific one was Andrei's turnaround on Ewan during the halloween candy game. It was one of the first major bonds Ewan would end up developing.

Revalink- Ship It!!!!!!!

What made you ship it?

I played Breath of the Wild in 2021 during the lockdown because I was finally bored enough I guess? (Funfact, I actually hated Botw before it came Out, because I was a little hater and didn't Like that the Zelda formula was changing lolol). The important takeaway Here is, that I already knew the Story and all memory cutscenes before I played it. The Other cutscenes Not included were new to me, however.

Revali was the first Champion I ended up saving (revali's gale is the best ability and I needed it for the towers). I was faintly aware of the existence of Revalink but never seriously considered it. Now while I was freeing the Terminals and got Bits and pieces of dialogue I thought that it was funny to interpret Revali having a crush on Link and that being the reason he's so mean to him. And it is funny tbh, but at that Point it was Just a joke to me.

And then came the fight against Wind blight, and oh. The dialogue right before?? The dialogue after?????? I should mention at this point that I played the Game in German, so many translations were different. In english, right before the fight, Revali said something along the lines of "Good luck (...) I only lost because I was winging it" and german He tells Link to be careful ("be careful, you hear me?")(also the delivery of that line, bro, voice actor was Not messing around) This in on itself didn't make me ship it, but it Set the tone.

The scene after the fight when Revali is saved and gives Link His gale... I almost dont know how to Put it into words, but the tension in this Scene? When He Looks at Link as If waiting for him to say something? When He Turns around "nevermind Just Go"??? It feels Like there are so many Things left unsaid, Like There's so much more to be said, even though their relationship is technically wrapped up at this point? It honestly caught me so off guard. Not one Scene with any of the Other Champions has this Kind of tension, Not even mipha (who is a Love interest for Link).

Well, then I went on Tumblr and my fate was basically sealed, lol.

What are your favorite things about the ship?

I Love the Potential of this ship! Theres so many ways how this can be insanely funny (this is one sided rivals to lovers, does it get any better than that?), it can be so incredible sad (death!! Amnesia!! Letting Go!!! One sided!!! Unspoken!!! Not meant to be!!! Lots of Other Things Im forgetting!!)

Its INSANE how Well they Work together, especially since I doubt it was done on purpose.

I have so many more thoughts, but I can't Put them together properly, so I'll leave it at that. The next point is Sort of a continuation of what I Love about this ship anyway

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

The fact that this ship isnt Canon and will/can never be canon is actually one of the best things about it, in my opinion (dont know If its an unpopular opinion)

It fits right in, in a way.

I Love it when two characters are written in a way, were they Sort of complete each other. Where they Share parallels, goals, have opposing personalities that still Match somehow, where they are each Others Drive and Motivation. Where their Stories Just fit so Well together that you know that they were clearly written for each other.

Link and Revali were Not meant to work Well together, Not Like this at least. Of course Revali was written as a foil to Link (correct me If I'm wrong please, I think this was the Case), so them being opposing is intentional.

If you think about these characters for a certain amount of time, Just slightly more in depth, you will find yourself with the revelation that they are so very similar, they would likely be able to be friends If they Just worked through their differences. But they never do! They never have the time/ are too caught Up in pushing others away in their own ways. They could have been something, but never ended Up being.

This ties so nicely into the theme of destiny and fate (kinda.... I feel Like despite setting this Up as a theme, botw doesnt really Go anywhere with it, so it mostly works nicely in fanfiction and such... Although, If you think I missed something about botw, pls let me know. I'm Not an expert on themes)

Theyre doomed by the narrative and the narrative Said they could never be, so they never were (Its kinda fun how that element is true in the real world as Well as in game)(is what I'm getting at)(theyre Not written as Love interests but MAN do they Work as a romantic couple)(cruel, poetic, amazing, ughhh?!???)(them working Well together as a couple was a coincidence, which again, opposes the destiny thing)(this ship has me in a chokehold, can you Tell)

I'm Just saying a bunch of words, I Hope they make sense... I might have also went off the rails a bit... Eh

HI KIT!! OFC!! if this gets long, my bad. i sometimes get a little insane about my own inserts and their lore because its based off so many dreams and studying. THANK U FOR ASKING BTW!!

sumiko was born as li fānguá, but to assimilate better into japan, she goes by sumiko. (any pronouns, she/they/he) he doesn't... really like being in japan but they have no choice now. and they became a demon slayer to protect her younger brother after their host family basically left them for dead. they are a reincarnation of k0kus wife and all of her rage and hurt from being left by him when he decided to run off and become a fuckass demon. sumiko is now the rainbow hashira!

ONTO THE FUNFACTS!!

sumiko is related to muichiro! not like close, close, but sumiko is technically muichiro's great, great, great (how many) grandma! since well sumiyo (her past life) and michi had kids who had kids. you know what i mean. i am so smart. muichi is very close so sumiko and kinda sees her like a mother figure. sumiko shows the same motherly love and tries her best to protect and guide him. wants him to eat his vegetables and treats him to sweets when she can. the only other two she shows htis same energy towards is nezuko and tanji

she's the same height as shinobu *4'11! the only difference is that she's stronger than her. sumiko understands shinobu. but she isnt a therapist and she will not play the role of a therapist so she doesn't... bother telling shinobu about her understanding or even trying to help her emotionally. thats.. not her problem LMFAO.

tried to kill giyu. its.. a long story. but after seeing nezuko and tanjiro and how giyu protected them. she kinda went ballistic and tried to choke giyu in his sleep. she stopped herself when she realized what she was doing and apologized to him. they never told anyone what happened. but he ends up avoiding giyu as much as possible ever since the incident.

i have main character syndrome, but ill gloss over it bc of embarrassment. but he has special blood. so muuuzan took an interest in him and took him into the infinity castle for experimenting and figuring out how he can use it. (if sumiko dies, the blood loses all of its special attributes) this is how he's reunited with k0kushibo who recognizes him instantly. sumiko willingly went with muuumuuu

sumiko gets along well with akaza and nakime. strangely enough has a lot of respect for them and doesn't try to cause any problems with them. uhm avoids doma cause he knows what doma does in his spare time and doesn't want to end up next. (although sumiko considers just.. dying at one point out of guilt and feeling like he betrayed everyone)

lets end on smth happy cause this shit is angsty as fuck. he really likes noodles. theyre his favorite in the entire world. (what kind of noodles? everything related to it.) its really cute because everyone sees him happily slurping at it and they tease him about it because he doesnt normally seem so happy like that. he used to share meals with muichi, rengoku, and mitsuri the most! despite everything, he does have friends! (....only two... which...are mitsuri and rengoku....) (his ass is so lonely and its his FAULTT STOP ACTING LIKE THAT AND BE NORMAALLL)

we already know tashiro is very easy going on queer themes, for him its just another tuesday when one of his friends tells him he has a boyfriend. we also know tashiro is open to discuss gender related topics and crossdressing (which, i really was hoping to see a bit of in their third year,, kuresawa killed it tho)

but you see, being open to these stuff and actually expreriencing it are two completely seperate situations and when tashiro actually goes with it, put on a wig and makeup and stare at gon-chan in mirror, and it being so familiar to him,, well that's a bit scary isnt it?

but how do you even cope with this when you cant understand whats wrong? because tashiro doesnt hate it! its just a wig and some makeup, its almost like a costume in a way so theres really no explanation for why his chest feels like its collapsing on itself. perhaps he wasnt as ok with crossdressing as he thought? was this what it is? maybe he should ask miyano?

and another funfact about tashiro! he likes being active, his favorite class is gym even! he likes doing something active when his chest feels heavy. tashiro likes running.

Favorite TOA-related memory: lel, team justice is still a highlight in my memory from l&k, but i also remember this very specific combat sequence i wrote with rai in the first major lore event with felix and cynthia that was sick as hell to do! ....... also, probably every piemageddon. it is funny seeing even the serious characters fear for their lives / get uber maniacal in a ridiculous situation.
