It’s both funny and annoying every time I see the Classic fans claim that the show isn’t queer and that the modern fans need to stop “making everything gay”.
Like, my guy, have you WATCHED this show? Or any Glitch Productions show in general?
SMG3 literally sang about finding a sugar daddy
James Bailey, who is out as pansexual, literally admitted to purposefully making SMG3 sound flamboyant when he voice acts him bc he Headcannons Three to also be pan.
Quote from SMG3 while talking about SMG4: “First off he would be the boyfriend and I would be the girlfriend.”
Quote from SMG3 while talking to SMG4: “What’s going to happen when you bring home a girl and/or boy?”, and idk about you but to me that strongly implies that Four is at least bisexual.
Bob has ovaries and is referred to as a male. Therefore Bob is literally a trans male.
The whole thing were it is freaking CANON that Three and Four had gay sex in that igloo
Also Mario made them kiss in the TikTok challenges video
MediExcaliber, writer for the show and voice of SMG1, literally admitted in his video that he purposely puts in a lot of SaiTari and SMG34 moments, and that Three and Four have in fact been flirting with each other in the recent episodes.
Also I refuse to believe Bob is as straight as he lets on. He’s shown attraction to other males, most notably towards Mario.
And it’s not just SMG4 either! The other Glitch shows have always been LGBTQ friendly!
Belle and Lucinia (Meta Runner) are lesbians in a f/f relationship
Because Lucinia is a lesbian, that technically makes Tari a lesbian too. (I can’t really explain this one without spoilers but if you’ve seen Meta Runner you know why)
Uzi Doorman (Murder Drones) is bisexual. She outright states that she finds both N and V hot.
Also I could be completely wrong but I believe that Elsie Lovelock, the voice of Uzi and Meggy, is bisexual
Also all of the drones are all functionally androgynous because they don’t have genitalia.
Zooble from the Amazing Digital Circus is non-binary
This channel has always been incredibly queer friendly, and nothing will ever change that.

•。ꪆৎ ˚⋅ wip wednesday!
thanks for the tag angel baby @guiltyasdave <3 • 18+ under the cut! MDNI!
Tumblr media
wip #1 • far too familiar a stranger…feat. logan howlett (& crimson!)
a long time ago, logan howlett knew a woman with your face…
i couldn’t not write a ‘worst!logan coming face to face with his tragically dead love interest but from wade’s universe after wade forced her to help them stop the TVA and hating her for bringing up that time in his life until he doesn’t anymore’ fic.
it's crimson because i felt that making whole new mutant reader would be sort of confusing so this fic is in the to the bone universe but it's not the same timeline...if that makes sense lmao
Wade Wilson is the worst neighbor in the entire fucking world. It’s really something you should have known sooner, like ‘the very first day in your new place ending with him breaking in through your window fully suited up after counting the floors wrong and bleeding all over your brand new pottery barn throw rug because he was still a little too concussed to walk’ sooner. Even after that whole fiasco left you with a broken window latch and a beyond fucked non-refundable $80 carpet, you still let yourself entertain his crazy. Just like everyone else whose life Wade crashed into, both physically or metaphorically. And once he's in, you can never really get him back out again. So yeah, maybe this whole thing is your fault. Maybe getting thrown into a barren, dusty void with two somewhat failed X-Men is just all your bad karma manifesting in one huge finger from the universe.
wip #2 • red and yellow kill a fellow! feat. logan howlett & wade wilson
logan doesn’t appreciate you letting wade get one up on him…
finally finally finally getting off my ass and writing logan x reader x wade! i was inspired by this one episode of satc (which is like my favorite show ever bee tee dubs) where charlotte goes out with two guys at the same time and she has sex with one but not the other until one of them catches her with the other guy and they all break it off.
my vision is a little different cause instead of getting mad and leaving when logan finds out reader fucked wade and not him, he figures it's his turn to get even. aka wade in the cuck chair and loving it.
The three of you pass a BMW sitting in a no parking zone, all four windows rolled down as Madonna blasts through the speakers. "So," Wade says, voice breaking the silence for the first time in five minutes. "Who white-washed your guts better?" You nearly trip over your own feet, whipping your head to gape at Wade. "Fucking excuse me?" "You know," Wade shrugs, like it's a perfectly normal thing to ask. The leisurely pace of his stroll not slowing, his hands still stuffed in the pockets of his jeans. "Who carved the lyrical railway better?" He just keeps going as you stare at him with a repulsed look on your face. "The number one stud that's stuffin' your muffin? That's takin the ol' bald-headed gnome for a satisfying stroll in the misty forest. Pick one hot stuff, they all mean the same thing." Before you can even answer there's a rough, questioning grunt from your right and your stomach flips. Oh. Logan, he was still here too. Still here and right next to you, listening. Oh yeah. "You fucked?" You still haven't slept with Logan yet. You turn to him face slowly, eyes a hair wide as you take in the sharp raise of his brow. "Um..." "Whoops," Wade snorts from somewhere behind your shoulder. "Cat's out the bag."
wip #3 • it's the easiest thing (just love me and eat me) feat. logan howlett
it’s not often that logan needs this, but you’re always more than happy to give it to him when he does…
the same requested sub!logan fic from last wednesday just with a new name and weirder energy! like this has really gotten away from me and turned into something that i can't really explain well enough to make it sound like chill...
lots of religious imagery and symbolism...and some metaphors of cannibalism...idk i'm just a girl with religious trauma and a weird blood fetish sue me.
You've come to think that being in bed with Logan is like being in church. The familiar weight of his body pressing you into the mattress is the alter. The heat of it like laying in the burning flame of a candle. The strong planes of his muscles each a different scripture that you take in by touch alone, skating your hands over his skin with something close to worship. Each bead of sweat on his skin feels sacred, a testament to the intensity between you, as though every part of him has been crafted for this moment of devotion. The hard length of his cock carves a place for itself inside you, each heavy smack of his hips punching another desperate sound out of your slack lips. His breath, deep and ragged, is a chant that pulls you into reverence. It puffs against the wild beat of your pulse, his lips brushing over the fever hot plane of your skin. The sound of your name pulled from his mouth sounds like a prayer answered. You can’t help but close your eyes, not in exhaustion, but in a kind of spiritual surrender, like by shutting out the world, you can truly grasp the divinity of it. There's a holiness to the way he holds you—like you’re the only thing worth believing in.
kisses!

Favourite characters: Guinevere (aka Gwen) and Elyan from BBC Merlin.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They're brother and sister, children of a blacksmith, Tom, who is killed by the king (not Arthur Pendragon, Gwen doesn't marry the guy who killed her father) late in the first series. Estranged at the start, their relationship improves after Elyan returns to Camelot in s3.
Gwen starts off as Morgana Pendragon's maidservant, before becoming Queen Guinevere Pendragon later in the show. She's kind and brave, and she accepts shenanigans (two days after meeting someone: "oh you need a wheelbarrow? To move a dog statue up a flight of spiral stairs into your room off the physician's chambers? Sure, I'll help you"). She helps save multiple characters and smuggles a knight out from the dungeons under the nose of Morgana when she takes over and an immortal army, while still pretending to be loyal (okay, so Morgana technically lets her to bait a trap, but she doesn't know, so it counts). She's also the only character on the whole show to figure out Merlin's magic without being shown or told about it, and one of the first to discover Morgana's treachery because she's suspicious and investigates. She helps take down a witchfinder on the king's payroll, and can use a sword! And argues for other women to be able to fight! She's awesome! And she's still soft, and cares for people, including assisting the court physician (she has more medic skills than a lot of people seem to give her credit for). She also fits into the damsel in distress role multiple times. She's the daughter of a blacksmith and knows all about armour, and is very, very loyal.
And she becomes a queen! They cast a Black woman as Queen Guinevere! She gets to wear pretty dresses and she looks gorgeous in them (she looks gorgeous throughout but yk), and she has an important, strong role in her debut two-parter as queen.
Elyan's Gwen's brother. He leaves Camelot when he's a teenager and reunites with Gwen when they're both kidnapped by an enemy king as part of a trap. He's the son of a blacksmith, and has been a smith in the years he's out of Camelot. He reopens his father's forge when he returns to Camelot, in that episode, and although there's no timeline iirc, it can't be too long before he becomes a Knight of the Round Table instead. He's very loyal, loving of his family and friends, and although he's made mistakes in the past (leaving Gwen and his father and not returning voluntarily, not even when he found out Gwen was alone because their father was killed), he's making up for them. There's a nice (? not sure that's the right word but anyway) scene of them grieving together at their father's grave four series after his death and two after Elyan's return that shows that well (also some continuity, and them doing this despite all their duties to the kingdom is something I like, it shows the importance of family to them both).
They did them both so dirty in the last series though. They killed off Elyan (in the episode with that scene above, unfortunately) and it was in the first of a completely unnecessary three-episode storyline of her being enchanted, so there was a funeral but she didn't get to grieve and they never went back to it after the enchantment was removed, and they didn't really show any grief from anyone else either. The show just moved on. And sure they did that a lot but it's particularly aggrieving with Elyan because he's a knight of the round table, the queen's brother, the king's brother-in-law, they both grew up with the first knight, and they didn't pay enough care to it.
(this will be your surprised face when you find out I don't rewatch the last series)
ANYWAY. I love them both.
GWEN!!!! You have to understand she was the Original for me. The first time I'd ever seen a Black woman in a main role in one of those fantasy sorts of shows, where there are white people around her and everyone acts NORMAL about it. She belonged there!! So she holds such an important place in my heart and identity, even if I didn't even finish Merlin. Fuck anybody who says Black people don't belong in fantasy bc Gwen was there and she did it and I loved and needed that. And she's wearing the hell outta that dress 😤
Well I wanted to be excited about Elyan, bit of course he doesn't make it 🙄 I hate it when that happens, when a character dies and everyone's just like... All right! That's it! Especially if it's other Black person on the show, like wow thanks a lot. Well, we care about Elyan, even if I don't remember him 😤

—on sacrifice and conditioning
"Clones being programmed- nothing controls me!" "Wrecker, it is a logical conclusion that your affinity for destruction would stem from your conditioning." "You take that back!" "I'm merely stating a scientific hypothesis based on factual data." "Oh well I've got a fact for you. I like to blow things up because I like to blow things up!"
Wrecker and Tech, The Bad Batch season 1 episode 1 "Aftermath"
(disclaimer that here I'm talking headcanons, and while it is all based on my personal analysis of canon events, nothing here is 100% canon!)
So.
Reconditioning exists. I first read about it, obviously, on Archive of Our Own, and later researched more for other reasons, to find almost nothing on the topic- one of the most interesting ones regarding the clones, for the simple reason that it is called a reconditioning. To be conditioned again, twice.
What made me really think about this was the fic I wrote, that resolves around Echo's time after Skako Minor, as he deals with grief and loss, and a brief interlude about Dogma and his reconditioning.
So, Wrecker and Tech's conversation is put there before a (n almost) comical situation, them fighting in the cafeteria against the regs, which distracts a bit the watchers from it- and it's a pity, because it's one of the few things The Bad Batch gave to regular clones.
Tech proposes the idea that clones are engineered to be the way that they are, and Wrecker hates the idea, saying that he's his own person and no one made him that way- and it's the most reasonable response, isn't it terrifying to think that you're not a real person but what someone else made you, that what you are, what you feel you feel because someone else wants you to be that way, to feel those things?
They're, of course, both right.
One of the things I liked the least about The Bad Batch was that they gave us a whole show about clones, but defective ones- which is a huge huge deal, and handled "regs" in a really bad way, at least for me.
Not because regs were the "bad guys"- people who are mistreated can mistreat others, I'm not that naive, but they chose to not explore at all the differences between Echo and the others- and I find that the biggest difference is their perception of death.
My whole fic was born because of this- I imagined Echo, after Skako Minor, learning that Fives is dead, that Dogma and Tup and Hardcase are dead, that so many died while he was imprisoned, and the Bad Batch is watching him grieve from the sidelines, knowing nothing about grief.
Yes, they did mourn 99 when he died, but they aren't like other clones, who consider every clone close family and think that dying for them is a duty and honor. They're a tight-knit group, and while they understand sacrifice they're not part of a group of a thousand clones- they're four, they're clones, they have a thing called Plan 99.
Echo has seen thousands die, and is ready to die any day for the Republic, and the Bad Batch in the meanwhile is almost no used at all to the loss of loved ones.
It's enough to compare two sacrifice scenes, Hardcase and Tech, to understand the difference between Echo and the others, and the difference in how the writers perceive regular, ordinary clones and defective, unique clones.
Hardcase sacrifices himself, and Jesse and Fives are clearly sad- but they accept his sacrifice, because it was Hardcase's choice, and they would have done the same. It's a choice made in the moment, but still a sudden thing that they're all ready for- a juxtaposition that for them is the norm.
When Tech dies, they have a plan for just that- self-sacrifice to make the team survive, Plan 99, and they all oppose to that, they all try to stop Tech, they're, not to be mean, way more emotional.
Yes, we spend more time with Tech than with Hardcase, of course his death is written as something way sadder, but we're here to work with what they gave us, so we have two sacrifices.
One accepted in a minute, a name said twice before, a character made to die and make us empathize and suffer for his death, one that left such a deep mark in everyone around it.
Well, it's telling.
In The Clone Wars, we had some arcs dedicated to clones specifically, but most of them were pretty rushed (I have a beef with the way they wrote clones in the animated shows- except Rebels, but Rebels is the My Only Exception the Paramore spoke of), when The Bad Batch was all about clones.
Just not the regular ones.
So we have Echo, and we have the Bad Batch.
Echo, who's more prone to self sacrifice, just like Hardcase and his other brothers, and the Bad Batch, who has a plan made just for that, I repeat.
The Bad Batch received a different treatment from the kaminoans than the regs, which is why they think that regs hate them just because they are what, stronger, more efficient, different?
The so called 'regs' hate them, they do, and they hate them because their defections are called desirable.
(let's not talk about the word 'regs')
If they're clearly called desirable, there are defections that aren't desirable, and what happens to the clones who have them?
Imagine being scared of being different, of sticking out, because it would mean only bad things and danger (for the people who love angst and aren't scared of suffering termination) for them, and then see someone so clearly different and so 'beloved' for it.
Clones are brothers, sisters, siblings, yes, and not only in the way that makes them fluffy and miss each other.
What happens when, let's say, an older sibling sees their younger sister do what they used to do and used to be berated for by their parents, and not suffer any consequences?
In the worst situations, it ends up creating jealousy, hatred, and ruins the relationship as a whole. Or it simply strains it.
This is what they have.
The Bad Batch had a different upbringing, they had a different life, and their chip didn't work.
(Let's not think about Wrecker and Crosshair for a moment, and focus on the others. Hunter and Tech's chips didn't work. Whether it was wanted or not, they didn't. Why? Their defection, again.)
And they're not prone to sacrifice.
That's not the first thing they think about, that's not an easy answer they can give.
Sacrifice is difficult for them.
(less difficult than for a nat-born, more difficult than for a reg)
Now, sacrifice should be difficult for anyone, but it isn't for the clones, who were trained to fight and die for the Republic.
"Live to fight another day" not fight to live another day, because regs have to fight and fight and fight, and sometimes die- die is considered fighting. They were trained to do it, to fight and to die.
And the only reason this could have happened, is conditioning.
There were nat-borns on Kamino, that they met and interacted with, and they studied nat-borns since they had to one day work under them, so they know an alternative to their life, they have the tools to find out that they aren't being treated right. They were conditioned to accept their situation, their life, this life of fighting and dying, because otherwise why would they? Why would CC-8357 choose to die for a Republic who bought him, if he isn't absolutely sure that he is something made to be bought?
so yes.
Does this make Hardcase's sacrifice less important, less genuine? No, it doesn't because conditioning isn't something infinite.
Can we consider it his choice? Yes, I think so, but not a fully rounded one- in the way their choice to fight isn't a real choice, since they had no other options.
Does this make clones less human? Absolutely not, because with every second they spend outside of Kamino they learn and evolve, and this makes any part of their personality ten times more special- imagine being witty, broody, annoying and short-tempered, and imagine being witty, broody, annoying and short-tempered despite having humanity trained out of you.
the clones are so interesting because they should exist in the middle between droid and human, but can't help but be so human that people created enough lore that if someone wants to read on ao3 about them they have to research beforehand! The Clone Wars writers didn't deserve them but we do.

an absolute wave of homesickness for Doctor Who (2005) series 1-2 just about knocks me over at the quietest moments of my little life
#it was such a specific time. I was just a kiddo#still living with my parents with a giant bedroom downstairs all to myself#it used to be a hair studio or something for whoever lived there before us. and I had this massive room with a table to draw and write at#and a tiny twin bed and I used to set up a projector against the opposite wall and hook it up to my laptop and watch DW to fall asleep#enthralled. couldn't believe the show I'd found. couldn't believe how much I loved Rose and loved the Doctor#you could not drag me away from it. I could not stop talking about it or thinking about it. Matt Smith had just become the Doctor and I-#-had so much content left to consume. and everything was simple. I didn't have a job at the time and every day was creativity#I used to write so much I'd forget to eat. and Doctor Who was the background music of my life back then#I miss winter nights swearing I'd only watch one more episode before I went to bed. all by myself. my family hadn't discovered the show yet#in that small single bed with four blankets and Doctor Who on the wall. drooling over timepetals and pausing and rewinding constantly#that time of my life was so safe and so secure and my imagination was so hungry and DW was feeding it and it was my first time seeing it#I miss that. I think everyone blaming the spinoff for Young Sheldon being different is only doing so because it is easier to blame the spinoff than the natural consequence of the show being in its SEVENTH SEASON… having to work quickly after the writers strike/actors strike… and the simple fact that until George buys the farm, Sheldon is basically at his final development point already and all his real development can be found in his very popular series that we saw already.

I can count on one hand the number of bobs burgers pre season eight episodes that I actually liked. NO GOOD EPISODES AFTER SEASON SEVEN???? ONLY THE FIRST HALF OF BOBS BURGERS IS GOOD??? I NEED TO SIT DOWN WITH THEM RIGHT NOW. im so serious about this lmao Couldnt even engage had to block them immediately

That scientist should not be 18 years old are you kidding me???
#prince's talk tag#so i found out something today#for the better part of the year ive been obsessed with the song Science by Sh/un'ichi To/ki#and today I thought about buying the single online bc i love it so much#so i go to the product page and read the description and it turns out#the song was used as an ending for an anime that came out earlier this year#and ofc To/ki plays one of the main characters in the anime: the aforementioned scientist#the character said he worked for the government as a scientist#and he when he first met another main character who's a child he kept calling him 'boku' which the subs translated to 'son'#plus the other main character in the show is 28 so i had assumed the scientist was 28 as well or maybe a year or two younger#nope! the same episode it turns out he's 18. eighteen years old#what kind of prodigy child do we have have here???#anyway the anime is kinda of mid and im starting to see a trend (probably not a trend and def not the first person to do this)#he acts in mediocre anime but also gets to do an opening and/or ending for it too. a two for one deal#in this case the op is sung by the three leads and the ed is just him#they are both bops but im bias to the ed bc ive been playing it on a loop#anyway im on ep 2. it's a goofy show but ill stick with it. ive seen worse ones and this one isn't bad#oh the name of it is De|usional Month|y Magazine#also i lied the op is sung by the four leads. theres a dog who is part of the principle cast and he sings too

wait, donna tartt was lampooned on riverdale?! glad i quit that show halfway through s2.
So in season 4, for some truly Godforsaken reason, Jughead goes to a private school and he becomes part of this elite writer's group with two characters who are named Donna SWEETT and Bret WESTON WALLIS who decide to murder him for ?????reasons?????? and their teacher who is played by the guy who voices Darth Maul in all Star Wars properties knows about this and feels so bad that rather than alert the school or the authorities he commits suicide by throwing himself out the window (because he called the writing on the show bad and the showrunners got pissy about it on Twitter).
Also the way they murder him is that they bash his head in with a rock and then blow a drug in Betty's face to make her lose her memory and become convinced SHE bashed Jughead's head in with a rock but then she manages to bring him back to life from his head being bashed in by giving him CPR. Somehow.

Also gonna send my criticisms of The Walking Dead TV show's treatment of Black characters as a separate ask.
So, to put it simply. The Walking Dead show has a horrible tendency of killing off its Black characters. Like, to the point it's a semi-common joke/theory that they have a quota on how many Black characters they can have.
Spoilers for most of the TV show, continue at your own risk
At the start of the show, we have two Black characters; Jacqui and T-dog. Jacqui only appears in the first season (7 episodes). She had very little presence in the show, only showing up for brief dialogue or to guide the other characters. She dies comforting a (white) man, who she decided to not leave alone in his final moments.
T-dog lasts three seasons (22 episodes) and gets more time in the spotlight. He's quiet, compassionate, and very selfless, the kind of guy who spent the early days of the apocalypse transporting old people to safety in a church van.
He also gets called the n-word and is beaten horribly within the first few episodes by Merle (...who is widely loved by the fandom despite this). T-dog still attempts to save Merle's life later, as Merle was, himself beaten up and cuffed to a pipe after committing a hate crime.
Throughout most of the series he's a pretty regular good guy. He's resistant to hurting people (even in self defense), he helps out other survivors, very normal stuff.
Then he dies while saving another (white) character.
Then we meet Big Tiny, Andrew, and Oscar, a trio of Black prisoners. Big Tiny dies almost instantly. Andrew is killed by Oscar. Oscar is killed during a rescue mission for two other characters (one white).
Then we meet Bob! He's another normal, decent man, doesn't stand out much. Then he's bitten by a zombie and has his leg eaten by (mostly white) cannibals. Tyreese puts him out of his misery.
Tyreese and Sasha are a pair of siblings. Sasha survives for most of the show, Tyreese survives a couple seasons. He's strong, protective, quiet, and wise. He beats up zombies with a hammer, pretty cool.
He is bitten by a zombie and dies not long after a new Black character is introduced.
That brings us to Noah; he's polite, helpful, intelligent, and interested in architecture. He even builds a close friendship with another member of the main cast.
Then a white man sacrifices him to zombies to survives. And he just... kinda allows it so the other guy present can survive.
Let's not forget about Sasha. She gets a pretty long run on the show; she's loyal, practical, has strong morals, is a great leader, and is amazing with a gun. She even has a couple romance arcs... one with Bob (the guy who got eaten), and the other is a man who is violently beaten to death in front of her.
She commits suicide and becomes a zombie to avenge her second boyfriend (who was white), attempting to bite the man who killed him.
I'm sure you can see the pattern... Black characters die and are replaced by a shiny new Black character. When they die, it's often directly connected to a white character.
If I remember right... around three Black main characters made it to the end of the show.
In comparison, three of the four Telltale games put their Black characters front and centre (the third game stars a Latino man, but a Black girl is still the deuteragonist). These characters are varied, loved by their peers, people sacrifice for them, people want to save them.
Well I guess I have no interest in ever watching this, huh 🤣 my reactions
Jacqui: 🙄 of course
T-Dog: shoulda left dude stuck to that pipe. Let a zombie get him, even. How do you find time to be racist during a zombie apocalypse? Nah, I'd let him die. He better than me.
Big Tiny, Andrew, and Oscar: here one moment gone the next
Bob: poor Bob 😭
Tyreese and Sasha: no, Tyreese 😭
Noah: is Noah the one that was played by Tyler James Williams?? Where he got caught in the spinning door? Because I remember that shit! I remember being HORRIFIED bc omg that's 1) Chris and 2) WHY IS HE DYING?? 3) now im scared of revolving doors
Sasha: 🙄🙄🙄🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️ now Sasha. Girl.
That is too much lmao damn.

Watched the zeta movies and the pacing was as much of a hot mess as I was expecting, but I had a good time still. I didn't know it was a collage-ish thing of the original TV show and new animation until watching it, so that was really fascinating. I think my favorite way the old and new animation was melded together was the equivalent of the Emma interrogation scene having the Colony 30 information being provided by using the original TV show footage of the episode where Kamille explores it as an in-universe video thing. Some of the new animation was implemented really oddly (random 1 second exterior shots or starting it in the middle of a character's action), but overall I liked seeing scenes reanimated and the new ones too. Some new animation bits I really liked 👇
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The retro-future technology getting modernized as a side effect of having new animation segments was cool, but also Bright with a mid-2000s laptop and earbuds is really funny...
Tumblr media
By cutting out a bunch of the plot, these movies solved some of my issues I had with the TV show (particularly the random not always well done misogyny commentary), but it also made characters like Katz or Reccoa or even Kamille's plotlines kinda incomprehensible.
I'm so glad that they added a few more moments with the various ex-White Base crew members because I wanted to see more of that. Sayla didn't really get any more screentime than the TV show, but at least she got a scene in the new epilogue part.
The translation was a little bit better for this, but with the new lines that were obviously added in over the original TV show footage I feel like I should check exactly what's a new line vs. a re-translation of an old line.
Even if a lot of the movie still had that dreary tragic Zeta tone, the new ending where Kamille gets out the Scirocco attack a little less unscathed was sweet. It definitely fits the slightly lighter tone.
Overall, I think this is a good companion to the Zeta TV show as opposed to a recap (which makes sense from the title of the trilogy).

#fave spotting#william hartnell#doctor who#dial 999#classic doctor who#one#classic tv#1958#abc#the killing job#this would have aired just as Hartnell's first stint on The Army Game was coming to an end‚ and would have afforded#audiences an opportunity to see him in the kind of tough gangster role he'd been known for earlier in his film career#he also says 'mmm?' a lot in this episode (which he definitely doesn't do so much in The Army Game) so ig that was a verbal tic that#predated DW... Dial 999 is such a weird little show. a rare case of ABC coproducing with an American outfit (Ziv Television Programs) makes#it one of the only half hour film serials from this era not to have ITC's sticky hands all over it. it's also copaganda of the most clunky#and unsubtle kind; Robert Beatty's Canadian mountie is in London to learn how policing happens here‚ which he does at length and with#much admiring voice over about the hardworking‚ brave‚ friendly‚ frankly amazing officers he meets and works alongside. the thing is it's#so clumsily done and so damn earnest that it actually succeeds in coming off as quite charming rather than tiresome#network have followed a mysterious order for their dvd set.. it doesn't match any of the (admittedly unreliable) transmission orders#available online but nor is it likely to be a true production order‚ as the four episodes Alvin Rakoff helmed as pilots (of which this is#the first) are not the four which open the first disc (only 1 and 2 do). ho hum it doesn't matter I suppose..... one thing we do know for#certain is that this was episode 1: Beatty arrives in London in the opening scene and explains why he's there#cue cockney mobsters cutting each other up as Bill Hartnell looks over his glasses and says hmm a lot#television heaven i tell you
