Agatha All Along deep dive: episode 4 part 1
(Wandavision entries: [1][2][3])
(AAA entries: ep1 [1][2][3][4] ep2 [1][2][3][4] ep3 [1][2][3] ep4 [1][2][3][4][5])
It's episode 4 If I Can't Reach You / Let My Song Teach You, time for two of my favorite things: glam rock and homosexuals. which are basically the same thing if you think about it.
she's like damn, billy, that was ruthless. honestly this is going to make her care about billy even more, not only he's powerful, not only he reminds her of nicky. now he's a murderer too?? perfect son is perfect. I love how she's studying sharon's body with her detective Agnes face, her mind is going a million miles a minute
her third-wall-break winks destroy me. and that poor hairdo. all gone expect for the giant turd on top.
alice being truly and genuinely sorry about sharon. lilia and jen being gossiping hags
agatha honey you're so dainty and feminine, look at you. and that's an interesting and not at all painful tree shape you picked. (I would have never noticed any of this without brightening the scene, it's outrageous. everyone involved in this show is amazing except the lighting department. shame on you lighting department)
whatever alice does openly and sincerely, agatha does secretly or as a joke. parallels, parallels
jen is like, can you believe this bitch
without being asked, alice goes to help digging the grave
that is the idiot I fell in love with and I'm way past regretting my choices at this point!! I know how rio feels now
"coven two" is one of those lines that make you laugh on first view and shred your heart in a million tiny pieces at every following rewatch. this show HAS to be watched at least twice, don't ever trust reviews or complaints by ppl who didn't, because they missed at least half of what makes it great.
a clown running from the tragic truth that her son wrote the Ballad, making sad clown noises all over the Road
when alice is called to referee as the Resident Ballad Expert and agatha looks at her expectantly hands in pockets, somehow extremely obnoxious, extremely gay and extremely sad at the same time
alice is SO above bickering. jen is being a baby because she's mad at agatha, lilia is being a baby cause she's grumpy and a contrarian, billy is sixteen, agatha is, well, agatha. alice is the only adult in the building
just one, huh? that's fine. that's fine. who needs a heart anyway.
the common gypsophila or baby's breath symbolizes sincerity, purity, innocence. does it symbolizes sharon? or is billy leaving it on her grave a metaphor for his naivety and good intentions gone wrong?
billy's romantic ideals of what it means to be in a coven have just been shattered. he set out, consciously or not, to teach something to these witches and of course it didn't work. he is the one who needs guidance, he is the one who's making a mess of things. he's just a kid.
agatha going !! when billy says he wishes he could go home. agatha covertly pointing out that he has a replacement body and she would really like to know how. she's observing him so closely, trying to puzzle out the mystery. exactly like she did with wanda inside the Hex. not revealing her cards just yet, testing and manipulating him. when that strategy blew up in her face so spectacularly the first time! she's so smart and so reckless it makes her practically an idiot
case in point: she's making up stupid rules trying to manipulate billy into shaping the Road the way she wants. that's right, agatha. let's summon another poor victim you can siphon, wonder who's gonna show up! (and she KNEW sharon was laying dead ten feet away and SOMEONE was bound to be in the neighborhood. dumbass.)
aww he's so proud of himself for having brought the spellbook. he's being helpful! he's made his four moms happy!
check, debatable, check
debatable and debatable
I'm gonna give that one a BIG check
yes I know advil spells "vidal", thank you tumblr for letting me know that one. also same, alice.
'esse viridis non es facile' IT'S NOT EASY BEING GREEN?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! oh I knew my high school latin was bound to come in handy at least once in my life
(by the way the set + costumes combo is giving me such hocus pocus vibes, but you could never tell because the SCENE IS SO FUCKING DARK) (NO I WON'T SHUT UP ABOUT IT)
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH
I mean girls, you chose to follow the head clown, you have to travel in the clown car. that's on you.
WHY IS THE PRINT SO SMALL???? I LOVE YOU PATTI LUPONE
admit it we all wished it was sharon for a moment
oh?? is that mayhaps someone you know, agatha???
and that's a wrap, see you guys tomorrow!
no, I'm kidding, I'm kidding. I'm doing another one tonight. I need to shove all the rio scenes in my eyeballs NOW
go to episode 4 part 2

i thought you would be happy with buck getting his oh moment and realizing his feelings for eddie but i guess you really were sucked into the bucktommy fanon created huh. Shame that you won't be able to enjoy canon buddie when it happens.
This is the only message I am going to answer about this specifically since I initially brought the topic up on my blog.
So, first of all, by definition, BuckTommy isn't fanon. Fanon is a ship or character that is completely generated by fandom. Buddie, for example, is fanon. Although they share a strong platonic bond, their relationship is not textually romantic. They do not kiss. They are not textually established romantic partners. Eddie said in the last episode that he is straight. So Buddie only exists within a fandom context. Conversely, BuckTommy is established as canon. Buck has touched mouths with that man on-screen. They were established as boyfriends and, now, ex-boyfriends. So it is, quite literally, impossible for BuckTommy to be fanon, even if fans do extrapolate, embellish, or reconstruct that relationship for their own pleasure. So, that's number one.
Number Two: According to this fandom, Buck and Eddie have had their oh moments a combined total of six times now at least (3x15, 3x03, 4x13, and 5x11, to name a few) and absolutely nothing concrete has come out of these events. The shooting is the closest we ever got, and that was four seasons ago. I don't begrudge anyone for reading that moment at the end of tonight's episode within a romantic Buddie context. Go absolutely nuts and have fun with it. But to me, that moment, such as it was, was more of the same - Buck or Eddie look at each other a certain way, or have evident (non-romantic) feelings related to the other, fandom loses their minds, they speculate, convince themselves they're right, nothing happens, rinse and repeat. I'm personally tired of the spin cycle.
I said I wanted strides toward Buddie canon to be made crystal clear and that's still true. You clearly see things differently (and that's alright), but outside the Buddie fanfiction hivemind, tonight's episode was not crystal clear. There was no discussion of Buck's feelings. He didn't vent them to Maddie or Bobby or Eddie himself. He didn't say, out loud, or indicate in any explicitly romantic way that he has feelings for Eddie. Buck having feelings about Eddie leaving is not the same as having feelings for him. They are best friends. They are family, actually. If Eddie leaves, Buck is losing the anchor to his support system and his (pseudo-)son. That's a big deal. That is an extraordinary weight to carry, especially on the heels of a significant breakup, and especially while dealing with abandonment issues. There was nothing romantic about that and, reducing that moment to a romantic reading, seems... odd. To me.
I'd like to think I'd still be able to enjoy Canon Buddie if it happens tbh. I actively write fic about those two in my spare time even though I keep my conversations about them to the DMs. But if I'm not able to enjoy it, it won't be because of the ship itself, it will be because I finally tired of the abject cruelty that's cropped up in this space. There's this unspoken rule in fandom that what happens during hiatus stays in hiatus, and we all just silently agree to move on from it when the show comes back. But I'm having a hard time with that this year because I've seen and experienced some absolutely insane things from this fandom the last few months that have stuck with me. So. Maybe I won't still enjoy it, but I hope I will.
I was really angry with the (non-Buddie related) content of this episode when you messaged me, so you probably thought or hoped I would bitch and curse you out, and we'd do this whole back and forth thing that would inevitably lead to you getting blocked. But I meant what I said - I have no interest in arguing with anyone about this show. We're not going to agree, and that's okay. I'm not your inspirational Buddie Warrior, and that's also okay. I have too much to deal with than to actively engage in internet beef. What is is what is, whether you or I or both or neither of us like it, and arguing about it isn't going to change it. So we might as will just learn to live with it and each other as best as we can.
I'm going to go watch TV now.
#I was on my way to bed but my raspberry sorbet is about to be delivered. So. Plans have changed. Lol.#jack answers mail#tv: 911#911 spoilers

Time for more because. Because!
first off: wanna point this out: Meme games
The fact that the minigame format like Meme is used for WOTFI instead of the using the usual non-minigame challenges, or the choose your own adventure of WOTFI 2023 despite the whole “We should really do this again sometime”
And Just... That's Puzzles' whole thing. Don't know what to make of that!
and... this
hehehe… sillies… Second, some stuff from other posts I’ve made and discussions I’ve had I wanna stick here so it’s all in one place. Colored text is new stuff if you've read the other posts already and don't want to read repeat info and musings. Alternatively if you haven’t read the post and you want to. I got links.
First from here: Puzzles and Four both struggle with empathy to some extent. Four has more practice with the aspects of empathy that can be learned (cognitive empathy) but it’s still something he usually needs to actively think about, which is something he forgets to do sometimes. Puzzles sucks at just about every form of empathy. But they both still care very deeply for the people they consider friends (see reblog above about protectiveness)
Also Four and Puzzles both put people through torment for content. Puzzles with just about everything he does, Four with stuff like “I put Mario in Danger for Views” “Mario Does Literally Anything for Views” and this
Next, this.
Mario only is friends with SMG4 as a result of not being the Mario he was before Four showed up. When Mario is briefly turned back during the Lawsuit arc, Four and Meggy make him back into the Mario they're friends with without any input from him. This sorta parallels the whole Leggy situation in a weird way. In addition, Puzzles brainwashes people to make them more entertaining and cooperative for his shows. The USB SMG4 arrived in did the same thing for Four automatically as soon as he arrived.
And!
We're talking about It's Gotta Be Perfect again. Puzzles gets a fatal error that tells him to contact the manufacturers, then we get eye imagery. Then we get the IGBP Goop.
Notably, this happens when Leggy is turned back into Meggy. In other words, when Puzzles loses his only friend and source of support. I've gone on and on about how what snapped Four out of it in IGBP is his friends and being reassured they'll always be by his side, and what that means for Puzzles. and this is just... another instance of that.
But with the Goop, there's something else. It seems to be tied to strong emotions, but the fact that it shows up when Four is worried about being left behind for not being good enough--and being reassured otherwise is what allows him to break free-- AND the fact that with Puzzles it shows up when he loses his only friend and wants her back...
And, well... This...
(Seriously what was up with the stuff that happened to Three in IGBP I feel like we don’t talk about it enough) It's... well, it's something. Puzzles would do ANYTHING anything to not lose his friend, regardless of if said friend is okay with it. I don't know if Four's quite to that point, but he's... adjacent to that, at the very least.
The desperation to be seen... and the eye imagery associated with the Goop... it’s something
...Not wanting to be left behind, wanting to hold on to the people you have... wanting to be perfect...
Well... I mean, it parallels other characters, too.
(With Niles Specifically, I can't help but think that the Goop is some kind of virus similar to Niles/Eldritch Zero. I mean, it was invoked by an adware)
On the subject of characters other than SMG3 and SMG4 that parallel Puzzles, let's talk about Clench and Tari.
Both Puzzles' TV head Clench are prosthetics in a way, and Puzzles can transport people into TV shows, while Tari can, with Clench, do the same with video games. And for what it's worth, with Western Spaghetti, they're sort of on the same... frequency? Tari being able to interface with the simulation and hijack Puzzles' signal to bring forth dancing Mario.
AND
Oh and also Puzzle has parallels with Axol as well.
I mean just...
friendless childhood to becoming obsessed with media to creating that media (still obsessive).
And.. resourcefulness?
Yeah we'll call it resourcefulness.
Puzzles Parallels Post
feel like I keep repeating things over various reblog chains and stuff and my thoughts are never all in one place so. This where I keep linking said reblog chains. One of which has an endpoint that does not involve me but sshhh.
Mr. Puzzles and SMG4 have SO much in common. Four comes pretty close to Puzzles-level bad on some occasions and they share a lot of the same insecurities
I believe part of the reason Puzzles targeted Four in the first place (because I doubt “You’re the stupidest show I’ve ever seen!” Is the only reason) is because it’s easy to exploit the insecurities of someone who has the same insecurities as you, because you know that feeling in and out. Even if for Puzzles he probably didn’t have a lot of self awareness about it. Probably something more along the lines of “Oh, this guy clearly cares the correct amount about pleasing an audience and the quality of his content! But he’s not even good at it! I can use this!”
The difference is that Four has friends. He has a support system to pull him out of it when these insecurities start to make him spiral. Puzzles does not have that and frankly seems to have given up on ever attaining it. Twice.
AND THEN THERE’S ALSO THE PARALLELS WITH SMG3
Because part of it is because SMG3 and SMG4 already parallel each other so you can’t have Puzzles parallel one without the other.
But ALSO! Very similar motivations of wanting to be seen and appreciated. With a side of pettiness and jealousy. Also this
And this was also an incredibly SMG3 adjacent moment
But also the show keeps calling attention to SMG3’s difficulty making friends. Which is also Puzzles’ whole thing.
I need them to actually go somewhere with this so bad. Because 3 and 4 might be the only people who can actually understand Puzzles. Or at least let them understand themselves better as a result of Puzzles.
I NEED the “You and I aren’t so different” moment SO BAD!!

Do you think Gabriel's writing flaws were meant to be intentional character flaws?
It really depends on which flaw you're referring to. Some seem accidental, some seem intentional, and some are the result of the show's formulaic nature (and arguably the writers' skills) holding him back.
Let's start with an example of that last point: Gabriel squanders opportunities left and right while creating the most asinine plans you can think of and only wins in the season four and five finals because of sheer dumb luck. In spite of this, I think that he is genuinely supposed to be seen as clever and creative. That's why you get Nathalie spouting lines like this one from Catalyst:
Nathalie: As predicted, [Lila's] anger will reach devastating heights. Your plan is perfect, sir.
And this one from Risk:
Gabriel: Ladybug never makes a mistake! Nathalie: Neither do you.
And a whole host of other moments from seasons three and four where Nathalie just straight up fawns over Gabriel's brilliance. Even in season five, she still seems to think that he's a genius, she just wants him to give up on winning to spend his final days with Adrien.
You don't write that kind of dialogue unless Gabriel is supposed to be smart or Nathalie is supposed to be a bit of a fool (or, at the very least, someone blinded by love). I think it's pretty clear that Nathalie is not supposed to come across as lacking in the intelligence department and her admiration continues after her "redemption", so the most logical conclusion here is that Gabriel is supposed to be a smart villain. We're supposed to think that he makes really cool and intelligent plans.
The problem is that, if Gabriel was smart, then he'd have won ages ago. The butterfly is simply too powerful for him to lose. If you want to play him as a genuine threat, but also keep his losses believable, then - at the very least - you have to majorly nerf the butterfly. You also need to let him actually plan and scheme, setting up future akuma victims over multiple episodes before they come to fruition. Due to the show's format, we rarely get this. I think that Scarlet Moth and Miracle Queen are the only real exceptions. While they're the rare exceptions, I will note that their existence also backs this "Gabriel is supposed to be smart" read, the formula just doesn't allow him to come across that way.
This issue is why formula shows favor serious one-off villains that get defeated by the episode's end or non-threatening over-the-top comedic villains that return time and time again. For an example of the first, think the antagonists in crime serials like NICS or Sherlock Holmes stories and for the later think of pretty much every villain in Kim Possible or Dr. Doofenshmirtz from Phineas and Ferb.
The reason why formula shows take these paths is that it's genuinely difficult to have a villain that shows up every week and never wins, but who also feels like a true threat. At some point, the villain starts feeling incompetent because they're the ones making the plans. The puzzle masters. That puts them at a strong advantage. For a smart Gabriel to work, the show would need to be way less formulaic and/or his story would need to be much shorter. The butterfly nerf is also a must in my book.
In my intro, I also mentioned unintentional flaws. When I said that, I was primarily referring to the child abuse and Gabriel's general attitude toward his son. The writers seem to be genuinely oblivious to how badly Gabriel came across as the show went on. In the first season or two, I could have given the writers some grace on this topic as Gabriel's behavior could be argued as the cartoonish exaggeration of an overprotective-but-not-abusive parent just like Marinette's parents get to be cartoonishly loving at times and Marinette's crush is cartoonishly over-the-top.
We also had moments like the end of Gorizilla and Style Queen which gave Gabriel a chance to show off his love for Adrien and give it some real narrative weight. After Chat Blanc, that grace was gone and the show would continue to paint Gabriel as worse and worse right up until the season five final where all that terrible behavior culminated in Gabriel... getting a happy ending?
While it's always possible that later seasons will actually address Gabriel's abuse, it's pretty hard to come back from an ending that let him ascend into the light with his wife while smiling and perfectly at peace. That's not the ending that you give to a black-hearted villain who views his son as nothing more than a tool. The only logical read here is that Gabriel was supposed to be sympathetic and he was supposed to love Adrien, just not enough to pick Adrien over Emilie. Why heal yourself and be with your son when you can just die so that you don't have to live without your wife? What a positive and uplifting message for children!
To finish this up, let's quickly touch on the intentional flaws. There are mostly the things that even a five-year-old could pick up on because that is the show's target audience. Gabriel's arrogance, his unwillingness to give up, and his inability to see other points of view are very clearly meant to be his true flaws. He's also apparently supposed to be a creative contrast to Marinette with him being cold mass-production and her being individualism, but the writers kind of forgot to put that into the show. I think Marinette gets five designs and Gabriel gets two, making it somewhat difficult to see one as a font of individuality and one as an evil, mass-market fast-fashion producer. I'm not even sure what kind of fashion Gabriel creates!
In conclusion, Gabriel is as much of an inconsistent mess as Marinette is, which is unsurprising since they're arguably the two main characters. The ones with key roles in basically every episode. That meant that they had to warp and twist Gabriel to make the akuma of the day work even if that akuma made Gabriel look like a monster by doing things like attacking Adrien. It's just a variant of the way they had to warp Marinette into being wrong even if she really wasn't or if it went against her established character. This makes it hard to pick up on the "true" Gabriel, but I've always been of the opinion that he's supposed to read as a smart, sympathetic villain who loves his family, but is driven to evil by grief and an unwillingness to move on. The ending just sealed that read for me even though I 100% agree that this is not the character that they actually wrote. It's just who they clearly wanted to write.
#ml writing critical#ml writing salt#anon ask#this is not how you write a formula show#Gabriel deserves better#Give me my sympathetic villain!#Give me my sad spiral into evil!#Or don't and just make him a silly old man I can point at and laugh#that works too

Hi, Sue! Just wanted to quickly say thank you for your amazing blog! I love it, you're the number one blog here I always wait to update💙 You're an absolute sunshine 🌟
Happy THK day, still can't proceed we finally here!
Hi Mei, oh you are the sweetest 🥰😍
I’m always happy to yap about FK (and JD is fast becoming a fav too!)
And yes, happy THK to all of us!! We made it 😊
What do you think about the first episode? For me, I absolutely love it.
I adore the costumes, the accessories of our boys and the cinematography plus colouring are all on point. Every single thing has a purpose in the show! The aesthetics, vibes and song/soundtrack are also amazing.
Special highlights for me - all four boys nailing their persona:
From Bison being bratty to his older brother (and you can tell he has Fadel wrapped around his pinky heheh) but turning into a baby girl when Kant flirts with him. There is a touch of naivety to Bison while still jaded (I don’t know if you notice, but I was captivated when he seduce the crime lord - you could see his revulsion in the face when he hugged him to his bosom while still smiling sweetly).
To Kant being confident and bold with his sexuality - he knows he is a catch. So swoonworthy, especially when he confronted Fadel in front of the diner - Fadel saying something a long the line of “you’re full of yourself” and Kant saying “Yes I am but your brother doesn’t have any complain” - we stan a confident king heheeh
And how about Style - crazy and ridiculous but so endearing. From him basically just saying upfront to Fadel “yeah sorry, I wasn’t paying much attention cause I was using my phone while driving” to him caressing Kant’s car (I swear he wanted to make love with it 🤣) and even him dancing 🕺 and flexing his muscles 💪
(And that’s another thing with this series so far - usually I don’t like singing/dancing in Thai BL. But the singing/dancing we see so far in THK all have purposes, even the off singing by Bison while he drunkenly lost it or seducing the crime lord)
And my lost, broken Fadel - ah, I just want to hug him so badly. It is such a juxtaposition - with the assassin job, you could tell he is clinical about it - all professional but when he is in the diner, the careful precision as he cuts the tomato 🍅 and prepare the burger, you can tell that’s where his passion lies. But what he wants he can’t have. And urgh, the adoration he has for Bison 💕💕💕💕 - he may not understand his younger brother but you can tell he will die for him.
🤣 sorry for rambling…but urgh, can’t wait for episode 2!
Here, have some wonderful photos of the boys from the recent THK premiere (pretty much KT being a babygirl around his costars 😗)
#this ask has now become a mini thk episode 1 recap for me lol#oppsssss#asked and answered#the heart killers#firstkhaotung#joongdunk

OK, follow-up to this post about Cameron's apartment's, let's look at Chase's. Because set design is fun!
We never see Chase at home in early seasons: the closest we get is in Human Error, the end of S3, where Cameron is visiting his place. We never actually see inside, and it's not even clear if this is like, his front porch or just the entrance to the building; he's a former rich kid so it could be either, but I assume the latter, because he's a trust fund brat but not own an entire townhouse rich.
The next time we hear anything about it is in The Itch:
CHASE: What time you done? We could try that new sushi place next to my house. CAMERON: Why don't we stay at my house tonight? CHASE: We always stay at mine. CAMERON: That's what I mean. We used to split it. What happened? CHASE: I don't know. Closer to work. CAMERON: By five minutes. And my house doesn't look like it was decorated by a drunk rugby player.
(I am fascinated by this line and all its implications. It is not decorated by a rugby fan but a drunk rugby player. What does that look like besides probably atrocious.)
Sadly, we never see this apartment. The next time we see him at home it is in the last episodes of S5. He appears to have moved in with Cameron; since this apartment doesn't match her old one and isn't plastered in sports posters, she either gutted and redecorated the apartment or, I think more likely, they got a place together (we first see them "at home" once they're already engaged). We first see it in Under My Skin:
And then we get several good looks at it (including the bedroom) in S6:
(the last two photos are a bit awkward but useful for layout: cameron exits the bedroom and is directly opposite the front door, meaning the bedroom is to the right of the hallway arch; meanwhile the front door is behind chase and you can just see the TV to his left, making it the final wall of the living room in the s5 set.)
Finally, at the end of Teamwork, we get a nice view of the living room/kitchen from the windows: it appears the kitchen might have an alcove to the left for a dining set (although when we've seen them eating, it was on the couch — relatable).
Chase stays in this apartment — same layout and architectural details — through S8, although once Cameron moves out he completely redecorates, which is fair. This is also interesting, because it shows he has a completely different style than she does; Cameron's apartments are all decorated the same (beige Pottery Barn-core), but Chase has a more… well, masculine aesthetic, he likes darker colors and more color in general.
We very, very briefly see his apartment in After Hours, when 13 calls him:
It appears Chase is lowkey a nerd: he's reading a book on the Crusades, he has a stack of books on his nightstand, and the top one appears to be a goddamn diary. Incredible.
We next see it in Chase: from the first shot we can see it is the same apartment as before; from the second we see the ensuite connected to the bedroom (and that he's gotten rid of the bookcase that used to be against the wall).
Finally, Park briefly stays with him in Gut Check, and we find out that a) the apartment has at least two bedrooms (and likely two baths, given the en-suite), and b) the redecoration did continue:
(why the hell does he have four TV remotes on his coffee table????) I actually like the orange couches (and the implication that Chase threw out every single one of Cameron's decorative tchotchkes), but it's a different vibe for sure.
Because we actually get so many different looks at the place, it's pretty easy to make a map of the layout; the apartment looks something like this:
This post is so pointless. However, I do not apologize.
#i really like fake and real architecture actually#malpractice posting#robert chase#i guess……………it is a post about him technically

he can't keep getting away with this
#i love dark frontier because it is full of insane parallels within the episode but somehow this one is the craziest to me#it is evident that they sort of parallel borg queen with janeway throught the episode but they also do parallel janeway with her parents#and it is just. sad. i got a whiplash at first when her reaction to reading her parents logs wasnt negative but was one of admiration almost#and then doctor adds that ummm not every scientist brings their four year old daughter to delta quadrant and she quickly recovers#i think it is really important to note that her first reaction to them isnt negative despite the fact that they obviously doomed sevens to#this fate. because of course why would it be. she is as bonkers as them#i wish that the assimilated parent that borg queen showed to seven was her mother instead of her father#would have made more sense with narrative parallels they had going on there#star trek voyager#kathryn janeway#seven of nine#my post#i am sorry but it is my firm believe that freuds favourite episode of voyager would have been this one

an absolute wave of homesickness for Doctor Who (2005) series 1-2 just about knocks me over at the quietest moments of my little life
#it was such a specific time. I was just a kiddo#still living with my parents with a giant bedroom downstairs all to myself#it used to be a hair studio or something for whoever lived there before us. and I had this massive room with a table to draw and write at#and a tiny twin bed and I used to set up a projector against the opposite wall and hook it up to my laptop and watch DW to fall asleep#enthralled. couldn't believe the show I'd found. couldn't believe how much I loved Rose and loved the Doctor#you could not drag me away from it. I could not stop talking about it or thinking about it. Matt Smith had just become the Doctor and I-#-had so much content left to consume. and everything was simple. I didn't have a job at the time and every day was creativity#I used to write so much I'd forget to eat. and Doctor Who was the background music of my life back then#I miss winter nights swearing I'd only watch one more episode before I went to bed. all by myself. my family hadn't discovered the show yet#in that small single bed with four blankets and Doctor Who on the wall. drooling over timepetals and pausing and rewinding constantly#that time of my life was so safe and so secure and my imagination was so hungry and DW was feeding it and it was my first time seeing it#I miss that. I miss knowing it couldn't be ruined and there was more yet to see on live television with Eleven when I got caught up#and meeting Matt Smith's Doctor on my own while my family had just then started watching it themselves with Nine? magic#nostalgia#dw#doctor who#bbc#timepetals#dr who#rose tyler#doctor who 2005#tenth doctor#tenrose#elevenrose#ninerose#nine#ninth doctor#ten#eleven#eleventh doctor

i am simply just not built to survive a breakup. when nick and jess broke up i spent the entirety of watching season four crying. not even exaggerating.
#season five was anger and by season six i gave up that they were ever going to give them proper treatment again#it's not even that they weren't in a relationship anymore but that the writers did everything to minimize it#in any capacity#they didn't know what to do with them so they almost restarted the show in season four but because they were the heart of the show#everything else went to shit#so im just gonna pretend the only canon seasons were the first two with selected episodes from the rest of the show#the chemistry they had keeps me up at night#and they ruined it and it never went back to what it was#fuck the writers#truly#fucking assholes#new girl#nick and jess

lower decks is the best star trek show. i'm not taking constructive criticism at this time
#HOLY SHIT#no spoilers but. oh my god the latest episode is SO GOOD#i knew we were going to get at least a part of mariner's backstory this season and IT DOES NOT LET DOWN#really season 4 has been banger after banger#A Few Badgeys More was the only episode i was kinda eh on#if you asked me how i would rank lower decks after just watching the first two seasons i would probably say like. high mid#it's funny but not that deep#but in the last season it's quickly rocketed to be one of my favorite shows. certainly my favorite of new trek#idk it's just rare that a show seems to perfectly straddle being largely made of references and specific star trek jokes#while also having incredibly strong characters. not just of the main four but also the bridge crew. t'lyn. even compelling one offs#tbh i think the reason it's so successful is because it actively avoids the BIG GALACTIC DESTRUCTION plots that disco picard and prodigy do#(though prodigy much less so)#it just. let's the characters exist and builds plots around the characters instead of the other way around.#anyways sorry for rambling. the latest episode just. gave me feelings.#lower decks#my posts

saw a few gifsets of Rivals today and I could never say no to an Aidan Turner / David Tennant collab so I decided to watch episode one but I did not expect the show to be what it is
in summary:
#in the first four seconds they were like: jsyk this show is fucking#just fucking all the way through#I’ve only seen the first episode but I can assume the fucking and toxicity only increase exponentially#rivals

I think everyone blaming the spinoff for Young Sheldon being different is only doing so because it is easier to blame the spinoff than the natural consequence of the show being in its SEVENTH SEASON… having to work quickly after the writers strike/actors strike… and the simple fact that until George buys the farm, Sheldon is basically at his final development point already and all his real development can be found in his very popular series that we saw already.
#young Sheldon#I cannot let chat know I fw Young Sheldon#and yet…#listen I am a Georgie and Mandy truther they are my favorite characters -#but also did you guys miss when the show was SCRAMBLING last season to give Sheldon shit to do#this is not a S7 problem#it’s just more notable now#this has been a bit of an issue for a while#it’s why they doubled down on the family#and for the record unless this episode (that I haven’t seen yet)#changes the count desperately#I think Meemaw still has the most meaningful screentime this season#like do Georgie and Mandy suddenly start getting stuff to do? Yeah -#but they basically were background until Episode 6#like think about this - REALLY remember - I know it’s hard bc S7 is short and kinda boring#but they had basically NO screentime until their wedding plot kicked off#I’d say the first three episodes were Mary and Sheldon heavy#with consistent Meemaw focus#that’s why - Meemaw is basically the one character always in some focus in these final episodes#where as I think Georgie and Mandy get like four couple scenes in five episodes that last about a minute or so#Sheldon took a backseat for the wedding but still had a big character reveal - then we see his college choices#that’s about all you CAN do with him until George dies.

What was the block-worthy bb opinion?? I’m so curious lol
okay listen. Listen. I know im being petty. but someone on twitter who did not keep up with bob's burgers after the first few seasons said "the first half of bob's burgers is so good" idk i dont remember bcuz i was genuinely blinded with rage but like. everything after season seven??? I can count on one hand the number of bobs burgers pre season eight episodes that I actually liked. NO GOOD EPISODES AFTER SEASON SEVEN???? ONLY THE FIRST HALF OF BOBS BURGERS IS GOOD??? I NEED TO SIT DOWN WITH THEM RIGHT NOW. im so serious about this lmao Couldnt even engage had to block them immediately
#this is a generally popular opinion in the fandom that pisses me off but at least if the ppl saying that#have watched like past season three or four thats respectable u just dont vibe with the later seasons and that's fine#BUT U HAVENT EVEN WATCHED THEM. U DONT EVEN KNOW#you can't just say the later bobs burgers seasons are Bad because they're bad. because you decided they were bad#you arent even autistic about this show u cant say That every bobs burgers episode after like s7 thats all bad. u dont KNOW#YOU DONT EVEN KNOW!!!!! GRABBING THEM#kinda joking but not really it genuinely pisses me off. Don't talk to me im angry >:(#WHAT DOES SEASON 7 HAVE THAT SEASON 9 DOES NOT. THE FIRST HALF OF BOBS BURGERS WAS GOOD??? THR FIRST HALF???????#biting the table rn#ask
