#goggle v #sentai #akama moments from the movie 😌😌#wanna know something really fucking funny about the movie????#they have literally 2 out-of-suit scenes. for a total of a little over 3 minutes of the run time #(it was like this in the show too)#(you could go a whole episode not seeing a face actor until the obligatory walk towards the camera ending shot)#THAT BEING SAID i do think the hospital scene does a really good job showing off each characters personality #and the movie as a whole also nicely shows why akama is in charge over kuroda #kijima/miki are niave (negative) but their hearts are very much in the right place (positive)#aoyama fancies himself a little wiser but he's easily swayed #kuroda is clued in (positive) but it leaves him a lil cold and cynical (negative)#but then akama gets both positive traits because he's perfect and i love him #this is all consistant and reinforced throughout the show as well and like yeah sure the characterization is simple but its effective #wow had a lot of goggle v thoughts to get out apparently #and very few of them were about akama whoops

Can I just say that I wish, I really really wish, people would quit calling 20-24 year old characters "bad" or "childish writing" for literally just... ACTING THEIR AGE?!??! Doubly if they have a disability or are specifically coded to be autistic, adhd etc.

Seriously? Is someone out there seriously implying that everyone magically matures into a grizzled, emotionally constipated war veteran the second a 19 year old crosses the threshold into their noughties?

Think real damn hard on things you did when you were younger if you're older currently. We've ALL done cringe stuff that keeps us up until the wee hours of the morning in embarrassment. Whether it be something we said or clogging up someone's toilet, puking all over the place because we partied too hard or sent literal car parts flying because you were learning to drive. You don't just snap your fingers and BAM! YOU'RE MATURE! CUE THE CELEBRATIONS!

Maturity comes from life experiences, the good times, the cringe moments and the failures. Not age. Otherwise you wouldn't have kids/teens behaving way beyond their years due to ongoing and consistent abuse/neglect, nor childish adults trying to relive their teen years at their 'prime' at the very least.

I don't care if it's a fantasy game or if it's set in the future. If a character is 21/22 I *expect* random stupidity, foot in mouth moments. I expect them to be over confident or make poor decisions at times. That's prime time to be figuring your own identity out, making yourself standalone, supporting friends via learning from said mistakes and experiences they've had. It's not supposed to be smooth or perfect.

#I may or may not be making jabs at people who dump on Andromeda's Ryder and Veilguard's Taash for being 'childish'#Can definitely vouch for Andromeda at least #For Veilguard its been stuff the youtube algorithm has been feeding me because I like games and it assumes I want to see all the negatives #Liking or disliking a character is subjective and that's fine. Not begruding that. It's the reasoning half the time that irks me #or 'criticisms'#If a character has been insulated and protected from trials/struggles/actively learning they won't have the same maturity #whereas someone who has had those experiences will often age beyond their physical years as a coping mechanism #mind you...it's not a 100% foolproof assessment #But I remember on Andromeda's release that people expected Ryder to be like Shepard #The Ryder twins were only 21 and had all opportunities to do stuff for themselves wrecked because of Alec and his research with SAM #Shepard in comparison was 28 at the start of Mass Effect and had already been through literal hell depending on their background #Ryder and Shepard were supposed to be mirrors of one another with the latter learning how to open up beyond the soldier persona #Ryder was supposed to -become- Shepard-like over time and trials #But Ryder didn't get the opportunity due to *very* bitter fandom over ME3 and wanting Shepard to play as again #tack on rushed development and pressure being put on a studio that had only ever made DLC prior and then you get issues #devs aren't completely blameless but I stick things on upper management and EA for being asses more than anything #Either way #Ryder copped it for not being mature enough then too and people ignored just how young and isolated the twins actually were from everything #Also yes I did cringe stuff too in my early 20's and yes I did have to relearn a whole bunch of stuff because autism spectrum made it worse #No i wasn't a party junkie #but yes I have sent my driving instructor's hubcap (among other things) flying #we all do and have done cringy things. it doesn't just magically stop #so no I won't expect a 21 year old to have the same level of maturity as someone who is 27/28 or older

i continue to find ii3 baffling. why did they make it (this isn't to hate on the season, i'm genuinely curious)

#melonposting #this isn't meant to be ii neg by the way. i'm just confused about AE's writing choices #i don't remember if they ever said explicitly? at the very least i haven't heard an official answer #i don't think it was initially for any plot reason. my theory is that it's for the same reason bfb and tpot split #the episodes were taking really long to make and they wanted to go back to regular lighthearted uploads. which is understandable #so while ii2 was cooking they could still post new ii episodes with reasonable frequency #but that also raises so many questions #the biggest: why the hell is mephone here #seriously i know people like mephone but i'm sure having a different host wouldn't turn literally everyone off #and mephone hosting this show causes so many strange easily avoidable problems #like the screwy timeline. mephone ditches his show for what he experiences to be years and yet ii2 is continuing like normal #only a day has passed for them. why? maybe they'll try to explain it #in any event if ii3 had a different host this wouldn't even be an issue #but then they made ii3 really plot heavy for mephone which then ended up screwing itself over #the season justified itself as being mephone trying to escape from his problems #and he goes through character development to address all of his baggage and how much of a jerk he can be #that suddenly makes what seems to have been meant to be a lighthearted offshoot season into an imperative piece of his character (bizarre)#which would inevitably make his return to ii2 really weird cuz that would mean he had his redemption arc basically off-screen #but then they didn't even do that????? in the new episode mephone is still his old bastard self. nothing like late ii3 mephone #which means that they're effectively retconning ii3's plot out of existence. as it is ii 15 barely acknowledged anything specific from ii3 #but this in particular is especially absurd. ii2 can continue like normal only because they're acting like ii3 never happened #which is just insane to me. why even give mephone character development in ii3 to begin with???????#why does ii3 even exist????????????????????? his character development is literally the in-universe justification for the season #i'm so confused #i'm just glad ii2 can proceed like normal :thumbsup: but these are seriously some puzzling writing decisions

I tried reading a book by a suicide researcher hoping I could learn something useful but I had to stop because he started describing the factors that make it most likely and was just describing my own internal thoughts and feelings back at me. I kept telling myself I was exaggerating and then going back and getting slapped in the face by it again. It was just too disturbing.

(Also don't worry, I've made it through the last three years like this and I'll be fine)

#i guess it did kind of help because he did a study where he looked at people's reported positive vs negative thoughts about the future #and discovered that even if someone had a lot of negative thoughts for the future or they were very serious #the presence of any positive thoughts for the future no matter how trivial had a significant what he called 'protective effect'#so every time i have an even mildly positive thought for the future i'm like OMG THIS IS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I had a nickel for every time in 2020s Doctor Who that the Doctor splits into multiple Doctors for literally no narrative reason, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that the writers couldn't be bothered to set-up even a flimsy explanation for something like that twice.

I know fl really really well (autism wins) but I'm soooooo nervous about it. It's not like I'll get stuff wrong, I'll have a big caveat about fl lore being super open ended on purpose! But it'll be something people will see and more link My 'Job' to my fl passion. I really really want to do it. But I'm just self conscious somehow.

#She seemed weird and mysterious before as well but like everyone else in the Genius Society #Now‚ the leaks are making me go 👀👀👀#The Light Cone and her last eidolon on their own made one Wonder™#But the information on her Light Cone open the questions even further I think #And the comments Dr. Ratio makes about her are extremely intriguing #That man is also intriguing me‚ way more than I expected #He already gave me an Apoll.o air before but his last eidolon looks so much like that and with the marble face the effect is enhanced #With how we're about to see more of the Masked Fools I wonder if he's going to be related at all with the Mourning Actors #I'm still on my Nietszchea.n bullshit when it comes to the factions of Elation I'm sorry #I am also very intrigued by the Intelligensia Guild. I like the idea of knowledge belonging to everyone and I find that's very positive #We saw the darker shades of that with Todd's quest and that was interesting but the idea is kind. I wonder #if we'll see the positive side more now. Up until now we've seen I guess a more positive perhaps view on the Genius Society #because we know them best but it would be interesting if they had a more elitist view on knowledge. Herta makes some negative comment #about the Guild. I wonder if this is where they clash but I guess there must be more #I don't know. Some context: I write fanfiction sometimes, about whatever I feel like at the time. I don’t usually post any, preferring to just save it as a draft on Wattpad (which I’m used to, as I found it before any other site. Plus it keeps your drafts FOREVER, which I thought was obvious, but I guess not). However, due to technical difficulties (and having it constantly on for like mayyybe four years straight?? Could be six haha moving on), my computer just will not turn on. Which sucks because I had a ton of tabs open, but I’m not too down about that part anymore; the part that I’m VERY down about, however, is the fact that I can’t write anymore. I could use ao3 (and I do to read!) but then I’d be on a time limit (30 days), which would make me constantly stress thinking about it until it’s posted, which would not be good for my mental health. I could use fanfiction.net, as it has a longer time limit (365 days), but I’ve never used it before, and getting used to it would be really hard (it was hard enough with ao3). I’ve tried writing on Wattpad on my phone, but the option to write just isn’t even present?? Which is such bullshit????? And it might be fine if I get the app, but I kinda just. Don’t want to. I also have the ability to use a computer that isn’t mine and just login there, but it’s weird, and everything in my gut and soul is telling me Not To Do That for some reason, so I haven’t yet. I’m really considering just getting the Wattpad app and being done with it, because I’ve had some really good thoughts on a Pokémon fanfic I’m writing, and I wanna write it down so I don’t forget, but I don’t know.

Kohaku's is just a very extreme case+combined with other mental disorders #It might make more sense for Kohaku to have come from a home where love is distorted that way but I like her backstory?#I mean being in the spotlight and watched all the time since theyre like nobles #Being held to an extremely high standard since childhood #and nothing below those standards being accepted in any form #would have a negative mental effect on someone with BPD already right?#Hmm #im trying to think of the core reason kohakus view of love is so deluded #Like Kohaku was held up to those standards had a very uptight household no mistakes aloud #her obvious disorder was completely ignored; her mother refusing to believe her daughter was “crazy”#and this would destroy their social standing in her mind #and the whole no daughter of mine is some “psycho” type mindset #Kohaku was told to push it all down . pretend she's fine . mantain her perfect grades etc #So yknow there was obvious neglect there. rich parents. I wouldnt say kohaku was spoiled but shed always get what she wanted #So maybe that could be part of her obsession with yori? i guess? and how #a person of such lower social standing would be utterly unacceptable for kohaku to be associated with #and Yori is so unique in Kohaku's eyes- she's an angry righteous person that takes risks and doesn't care #what people think of her when public image was #taught to kohaku to be everything to their family.#so like being with someone like yori could be a sort of freedom from this life Kohaku's forced to live #like Kohaku has always been able to be herself around Yori #even when she started to get really clingy all the time yori didn't mind #and shed try to help her with her manic episodes and everything- her anxiety/paranoia etc #and when Kohaku felt like shed lose Yori (when she met Tatsuko)#she did everything she could Not to lose her. (lying&sabotaging Yori's relationship with Tatsuko)#cus she didnt want to lose the only tether she had outside of her nobility. or whatever.#... What was i talking about originally
