HAHA okay so like clover is my combat medic OC that basically just bullies his way into @bunnysnared's fledge's life after his several visits to the medbay.

bare essentials (what makes clover... well, clover):

• big lad (6'3ft/190cm) • 31 y/o • rank: sergeant? (he's been PMC for a while) • clover has this choppy mullet situation because he hates short hair, but needs the sides trimmed for his headset to sit snuggly. u won't see his forehead often lol • piercings that def need to be taken off for an op - 3 on his right ear - 5 on his left ear - a labret piercing (lip) - and many more! (😏) • a neck tattoo of a stag skull and a wreath of laurels surrounding it • his lucky coin (that he bets other's lives on) • a freggie charm (a weird frog thing he adores) • an ambiguous accent (sounds like he's from london, but he definitely isn't)

the story so far or whatever:

Clover was a medic for a task force specializing in interrogations and intel gathering, but was thrown to the wayside after a traumatic back injury that temporarily takes him out of the field. Retirement isn't an option for guys like him, so he's made a medic on a uk base with his own little office. he hates paperwork, but what can u do, ykno. his bedside manners are horrible and his superior Fish isn't too happy about that, but he's too good at what he does to let him go (and even has clover trained for a position as head medic to replace him lmao). he settles into the routine of a sterile environment and possibly says goodbye to getting back out into the field. but here arrives fledge, in for a patch up. and another. and another. clover becomes a lil obsessed with him (read: falls in love with him) to the point of training to get back into a task force fledge's on as their combat medic. the captain likes him, so he's inducted in without any problems. or smth. LMAO. the rest is clvrfldg history.

what the bastard is like:

clover doesn't care for regulations. its obvious in the way he looks. he's one step away from being kicked to the curb and dishonorably discharged from medical malpractice. (i.e: coin tossing if u live or die or if he should give you anesthetic lmao) but he's damn good at his job, so they don't want to lose a great asset like him. all smiles that don't reach the eyes, and eyes that never shine, he's unreadable. you won't get a lick about his past or anything about himself. its like pulling teeth because he'll redirect a conversation back to you. very observant (and a bit of a sadist lol). uses it to his advantage as a medic, its what keeps him sharp (and a bit mean). will notice the little details and patterns and use what he can to turn things in his favor. manipulate mansplain manwhore or whatever lmao

I don’t really have the right words but i like the idea of Hobie doing quick checks for people’s safety without even really moving too much, as both a skill learned from his childhood and just a way he would be anyway. Like let’s say Gwen is calling him and she’s crying but sounds very detached. Hobie’s gonna do a quick mental checklist like this: (Injured? -> Alone? -> Aware? -> Show up -> distract as hiding weapons -> calm her -> check speech -> move location? -> check for injury) and it gets more complex as need be. He’d do this with all his friends and the people he helps in general, and it’s a quick and barely noticeable process unless he tells you he’s even doing that, which he usually doesn’t. I also like to think he was kind of doing this when he was talking to Miles on the way to meet Miguel, just very toned down (for him).

There is a huge tie to the religious parts of Judaism for converts, but it honestly wasn't just the religion that drew me to wanting to become Jewish, and I think it's important to know that it's not just about religion, at least for me.

I'm in a wishy-washy area of religion, honestly, and I don't think that's a bad thing. Maybe as I grow deeper in my understanding and find my own little niche, I'll be the most religious man alive, but that's frankly not where I am.

I think what drew me to Judaism is a combination of the People and the Religion, and sometimes I see the religious parts conflated way more with converts (which makes sense). It's hard to explain, but I don't just want to be a religious jew, I want to be a jew. I think both is important to me

i saw. idk. i grew up there i guess. my family on my dad and fathers side are all super lachrian and i think my pa is to some extent too?? idk. my mom isnt she just like. follows along because like she lives there and likes to partake in other cultures and the lachrian faith is very much a huge part of vulgrado's culture. i used to be i think but idk i dont really believe in it anymore. i dont know how much of it is real i dont think lachrilove or serasphirit are real. i dont think legendaries are real in general anymore with some exceptions.

I've been saying this but seriously? for real? father can die in a hole. nora/mizuchi has never stepped one millimeter out of line and yet he turns on her at the slightest provocation. the two most recent chapters (104) are prime disgustingness but I just finished 46 in my reread and right from the beginning he's been willing to fawn over her and then flip to casual threats of torture/death without batting an eyelash. NO WONDER she's like that. she could ABSOLUTELY be fixed with some love and a warm bowl of soup and yet that absolute grease stain had to get his hands on her. ALL SHE EVER WANTED WAS FOR SOMEONE TO GENUINELY CARE FOR HER AND IF SHE DOES NOT GET WHAT SHE DESERVES I'M GOING TO RIOT. one of the BEST examples of getting my opinion on a character turned around I have ever seen. you don't have all the information at the beginning and so you're like "wow she's creepy, and she's doing some crappy stuff to the main characters for no discernible reason, yikes," but then you get to the end and it's like "never mind! sucks that it had to hurt others but actually that makes perfect sense!"

oh and don't even get me started on yato and yukine or we'll be here all frickin day. something something bla bla blah parallels about yukine's horrible dad and yato extending a hand to him and telling him to live and giving him a second chance and then yukine's efforts to do something about mistreated kids in the human world and then looping back to be there for yato (child with a horrible dad). something about two people who are really just young, at the core of it all, thrust into the positions of responsibility and caretaking inherent to the god/shinki dynamic; giving to each other when they barely have anything left themselves. list me three characters in noragami with stable family lives and no deep seated trauma, I dare you. it's absolutely rife with extremely well done and complex theming and parallelism that's ripe for analysis but I've got too much irl stuff to do right now so it'll just have to sit in my head while I scream about the broadest parts on tumblr.
