i mean - i think buck has not exactly been liked by a big part of the buddie fandom for a long while. some of them liked to hide it or not admit it, but they were bad at it. i thought it was obvious they don’t like buck for the longest time.

if you read their takes, or their fics, or any headcanon, it’s always the same formula. buck screws up, buck acts like a child, buck needs eddie to come to the rescue because he doesn’t know better, buck has to apologize to eddie. most of the time they also have eddie be super understanding and catering to buck as if he was his second child.

but then the buck we get in canon becomes more and more like the complete opposite version of their buck. and eddie is becoming someone they also don’t register in their fanon fantasy. i think they deeply hate how buck is the more stable one of the two. i think they hate how buck has grown up and is, arguably, a bit more mature than eddie right now. i think they hate the show is starting to paint buck as a figure you can rely on, that is wise and helpful, and mature (i think they slowly want to make him be the perfect captain, but i digress).

meanwhile eddie is slowly spiraling down, he hasn’t exactly grown a lot since he came onto 911 (in comparison to other characters, including buck), he’s if anything, gotten slightly worse. he mistreats women and doesn’t show a lot of remorse for it - he doesn’t seem to be super guilty over the pain he caused marisol in 709/710. understandably he was more upset about chris, and i would think of this as a fluke, but we’ve seen this before (hey, ana). eddie has also been shown to lash out against people whenever he gets mad at them, and he’s shown he’s okay lying to his friends without, again, feeling remorse about it. and hey, i am okay with a flawed character. everyone at the 118 is flawed and i think that’s what makes them great characters. i personally don’t like eddie as much as the rest, but that’s mostly due to his lack of self reflection and how he usually doesn’t apologize for his actions. as well as for the way i just don’t see him grow up in a way i can relate to.

to sum this up, when you put buck and eddie together it is rather obvious how different they are. and how different they are to the version that exists of them in fanon. and when you put them together throughout the seasons you can see buck’s growth, something it’s barely there with eddie.

so it makes sense that they’re now hating on him. they started at 710 when they wanted buck to be the one to solve eddie’s issues, and were mad that he chose to leave the diaz family alone to deal with their stuff, and went home to decompress and be with his boyfriend. he’s been judas to them ever since.

but hey, if some of them stop shipping buddie because apparently buck is a pos (ofc it can never be eddie, the one to make several big mistakes and have questionable behavior during s7)… silver lining. if they leave because of them i won’t complain, i’ll just watch them to with a smile and a sip of coffee.

No I think you're right! They want the dynamic of uwuBuck and parental figure Eddie and that is not what is happening. If they wanted that, funny enough, they'd need season 1 Buck, the one they really don't like. (Or even know)

I believe Eddie's problem is that he's always been the hero. He won that silver star and I don't think he really believes he should have. He was just doing his job, ya know? But everyone looks to him as this army hero and in reality this man is so terrified underneath it all he feels inadequate in every avenue of his life.

It's why Ryan's excited to basically "ruin" Eddie. He needs it.

You stare at Ben as he laughs, bubbly and merry and infectious…

You hate the way it makes you feel happy to see him that way. You hate that you can’t just walk over there, across the set, and kiss these lips of his that always seem to be calling for your own…

You can’t do it. You just can’t. It isn’t a possibility, because you’re working together, and he probably doesn’t even like you at all and…

You force your train of thoughts to stop. This is not the right place nor the right time to be contemplating your recent crush on your co-worker. Now, on the contrary, it is time to finish reading your lines one last time before being called for your scene.

But you’re distracted again when Archie nudges you.

“Hey, are you coming to Jessie’s party tonight?” he asks, shoving a small pastry into his mouth.

You smile at him, nodding your head.

“Sure, it sounds fun.”

You’re lying. Blatantly so. You’re not so much into parties like these, but you need to socialize to get along with your co-workers, and you want to fit in the cast. You’re only just arriving for this second season, after all. Even if the shooting has started several weeks ago, you’re still a little uncertain sometimes. But then again, maybe that’s because you always lack confidence…

“Awesome! It’ll be fun, you’ll see! Jessie always throws the best parties!”

You nod again, as if you knew what he is talking about, while already planning some fake excuses to go home early, and a strategy to remain as quiet and alone as possible during the event.

Damn, that introverted part of you really is a pain in the arse sometimes…

“Who’s coming? Everyone?” you ask, closing your script, aware that you will not be able to work before your scene now that your colleague has joined you.

“Yep! Having a hard time convincing our grandpa over there, though,” he jokes, nodding towards Ben. “He’s had a busy week, and he’s exhausted. But I’ll find a way to convince him, don’t worry. I want to get everyone coming tonight.”

“Nice!”

You hope he can manage to convince Ben. You truly do. Because… well, you have a crush on him, after all. A stupid, ridiculous, terribly serious crush on him. And if he can come tonight, the evening might not be so bad, after all…

Speaking of the devil…

Your heart quickens its pace as Ben approaches, a calm, comforting smile on his lips. He looks gentle and kind and a little mischievous, like he always does. He’s in full costume and make-up; dark scars running across his handsome features, and a long leathery coat embroidered with gold floating behind him. It doesn’t match, the scary and intimidating look against the softness in his dark eyes…

“What are you two troublemakers planning now?” he asks, his voice full of humour and teasing.

“Well, we’re talking about tonight. You know, the amazing party you’re planning on missing?” Archie answers.

“Ha… yes, at Jessie’s?”

“Yep!”

“I’ve had such a tiring week, I just want to sleep,” Ben admits.

He seems tempted nonetheless. After all, Jessie does throw the best parties.

“Come on! You don’t have to stay for too long, we’re used to you abandoning us before midnight. Come on, everyone but you has said yes already! Even Y/N is coming!”

Ben turns to you, hesitation intensifying on his features.

“You’re coming too?”

You nod.

“Yep! Sounds fun! You should come too. You can leave early, if you want. But it would be nice to have everyone around. Right, Archie?”

“Absolutely! Ben, you’re coming. That’s decided!”

Ben laughs, shaking his head.

“I haven’t said yes…”

“Now, come on. Y/N is asking you to come! Look at how disappointed she looks that you’re not coming…”

You feign a sad pout, batting your lashes, and Ben can’t refrain a laugh. He rolls his eyes but then again… if you’re coming…

Then, it gives him a perfect excuse to see you. He knows he shouldn’t think of you this way. Because this… silly, crazy, extremely intense crush he has on you can only make everything complicated. You’re working together, and you probably don’t even feel the same and…

… and yet, every time he sees you, his heart skips a beat. And he longs to see you, even if it’s just from across the room, and if he listened to himself, he would admit that he longs for far more than simply being near you…

But then again, it would make his life unbearably complicated. And you… you probably don’t feel the same, so why bother?

“Please, come to the party tonight!” you ask again, offering him a friendly smile. “You’re the person I know best in the cast, as we’ve had plenty of scenes together already… it’ll be less fun without you!”

Now, you’re looking at him with these pleading eyes, and you’re saying it’ll make you happy to see him there…

… how could he say no to that? How could he say no to you?

He heaves a sigh, but nods anyway.

“Alright, alright… I’ll come.”

Archie and you share a high-five, while Ben keeps on laughing at the two of you.

But then again… if he can see you a little longer, outside of the studio, it’s worth the dark bags that will grow even more under his eyes…

Ben is blowing his cheeks, miming something big and round. You have no idea what he’s doing, and look at him with round eyes, scraping in every corner of your mind… what on Earth is he doing?

He adds a moustache with a finger under his nose and frowns hard, as if he’s angry and disdainful… Still, you’ve got no clue… it could be anyone…

His face changes back to his normal demeanour, and traces something that looks like a lightning bolt on his forehead…

And you got it! At last!

“Dursley! Vernon Dursley!”

Ben claps his hands and cheers, right as the timer rings. It was the last round of charades for the night, and as Ben comes to join you on the sofa, giving you a high-five for this last guess of yours, you’re all awaiting the final results.

You know the results are close… Jessie and Freddy have done an amazing job tonight as well. You wait for Calahan to count the last points, Danielle peering over his large shoulder to get a glimpse while she sips on her glass of red wine.

It’s merry. You’re happy to have come to the party, in the end. It’s still quite early, you know the mood is shifting to a more ‘partying’ colour, and you have no doubts that after this game, Kit is going to put on some music and start some kind of dancing competition. You know you’ll like this part of the night a little less, but so far, it’s almost 11 and you’re quite happy and at ease still.

Besides, Fortune decided to pair you up with Ben for this game, when you drew his name from one of Jessie’s hats. And as he sits down next to you, making the cushion bend a little under his weight, as he shifts next to you to get comfortable, as he leans forward to grab his glass of wine on the coffee table, as his shoulder brushes against yours with each of his movements…

Yes, the evening isn’t so bad, after all…

“Oh, we have some winners…” Calahan theatrically raises up his hands, picking the sheet of paper holding the results. “And the winners are… Ben and Y/N!”

Ben and you cheer, and you are quite surprised when he pulls you in a tight hug.

Warm. Safe. That’s the best way to describe his embrace, even if it lasts just a couple of seconds. It’s enough to make your head spin, your heart race under your ribs, you’re intoxicated already with his soft wooden smell…

But he pulls away soon, too soon… he has to. Breathing in your sweet perfume, and holding you close, feeling the air leaving your lungs to collide with his cheek and ear… it’s too much for him to handle. He’s already blushing, he can’t let you see how he feels…

It feels cold when he pulls away, empty. His embrace is filled with air again, and he hates it. You seemed to fit so well in his arms, your warmth spreading through his frame…

He pushes the thought away. This evening is nice, merry, full of light. He enjoys it. He knows that Kit will soon turn on the music, and he’ll soon be a little bit bored, as he won’t take part in the dancing. It’s alright, though. He hopes you won’t dance either. He hopes you’ll stay a little bit longer…

Around the two of you, people are teasing your team, saying you’ve cheated, laughing at your outraged faces. It’s fun and light-hearted.

The back of your hand brushes Ben’s as you shift on the couch, and your breath gets stuck in your throat. It’s electrifying, this sensation…

You need to stay a little longer to the party, just to socialize, to make sure you’ll fit in with the group. But you have to admit that you’re a little bit uncomfortable when Kit starts the music, and most people start dancing.

You decide that you deserve a little bit of intimacy, and excuse yourself to the bathroom.

You stay there a few minutes, just to recharge your social batteries a little. You’re hesitating between aiming for the kitchen or the sofa as you walk out the tiny room. The kitchen will be a little quieter, you reckon. But then again, Ben will probably be in the living room…

You’re smiling at the thought of talking to him again when you step in the living room. Everybody is dancing, except for Freddy and Amita who are chatting, sitting on the couch. You’re looking for Ben, but can’t spot him anywhere. He’s not dancing, and you’re not surprised. You aim for the kitchen.

He’s standing there alright. A glass in his hand, he’s leaning against the counter, laughing with Jessie. She leans against him, they’re standing against each other.

And you can’t help it. You wish you could stop the feeling from spreading through your veins, but you can’t. You wish you could stop yourself from being jealous, but you can’t…

Apparently, there’s nothing romantic between these two, but sometimes… like now… you envy their connection.

Because Ben doesn’t lean against you like that. He doesn’t laugh so hard with you. He doesn’t… he doesn’t act like that with you. And perhaps that’s yet another sign that he doesn’t see anything more than a friend in you…

You take a deep breath, turning around to face the dancing group again. The music is loud and pulsing. After seeing Ben like this… it’s a little too much…

“Hey, Y/N!”

You don’t turn around to face Ben, even if he’s calling you. Instead, you ignore him, act like you haven’t heard anything, and stride across the room. Your feet guide you to the front door, and you grab your coat as you hurry out of the apartment.

You feel ridiculous for feeling this way. You have no rights to be jealous, you’re nothing more than a friend to him. Still… still it hurts to see him so close to someone else…

“Y/N!”

You freeze. You’re waiting for the elevator, in the middle of the corridor. It smells of cigarettes, the white walls a little bit yellowed by nicotine and tobacco…

“Y/N? Where are you going?”

You turn around, at last. You can’t avoid it anymore. Ben is standing there, on the threshold of Jessie’s apartment. He’s frowning, staring at you. He doesn’t seem angry though, only taken aback.

The doors of the elevator open behind you, bathing your frame in a cold white light. They open fully with a little ‘ding’. You struggle to swallow, before you can speak, extending your arm inside the elevator to keep its doors open for you.

“I’m going home. I’m tired. Besides… dancing isn’t my strong suit so… better head out,” you explain, hoping that Ben won’t notice the way your voice is shaking.

He seems disappointed. If he wanted to hide his reaction, he’s bad at it. He gives you a smile anyway.

“Okay… Humm… Would you mind if I walked to the subway with you?”

“Don’t you want to stay a little longer?”

“Not really. I’m knackered. You had to convince me to come, remember?”

“Right… okay then.”

Ben disappears for a mere second, just to grab his coat. Soon, you’re entering the elevator together.

He has a shy but warm smile on his lips. He can’t really summon anything else right now. You’re standing right next to him, you don’t seem to mind that your shoulders and arms are brushing against each other. He does though. He minds terribly, because it makes his heart pounder in his chest, and he can’t breathe properly. He can feel butterflies starting their flight across his stomach, and he can’t take any more of it. He takes a step back.

It breaks your heart. The way he adds distance between the two of you, when earlier with Jessie he…

You push the thought away as the doors open again, and you hurry out of the tiny space in favour of the large hall of the building, then the street.

It’s springtime in Budapest, the air is still chilly despite the warmth that has started to rise during the day. But now, it’s night time and the air is cold and makes you shiver despite your coat. You welcome the feeling though, it makes you forget Ben’s warmth…

“You’re calling for a cab?” Ben asks, standing right behind you.

But you shake your head.

“No, I’ll just walk for a bit. Then take the bus.”

“Alright…”

“You’re calling a taxi?”

“No… No, I thought… do you mind if I join you?”

“No… not at all.”

His smile is brighter this time, and you can’t help the way it makes your heart skip a beat. You match his smile without even noticing…

Soon, you’ve settled in a leisurely pace. None of you seem willing to hurry. Why would you? You both long to spend as much time together as possible…

Ben is the first to break the silence that has settled between the two of you. In the distance, traffic hums in a regular pattern. There is a rhythm to the night. Still busy despite the darkness and the glimmering lights. It’s a little shushed though, distant. It comes only out of the large streets and boulevards, the small alleys are quiet, sleepy. As you walk further down the street, bathed in the golden streetlights, you tighten your hold on your coat. The wind pushes papers abandoned on the street, they roll in a shuffling noise that matches the rustling of the tree leaves.

“Any plans for the weekend?” Ben asks, burying his hands in the pockets of his black jacket.

“No… just sleep. A lot of rest. And some lines to learn,” you give him an amused smile, and he chuckles.

“Yeah, I feel your pain.”

“What about you?”

“Same, basically. Have a busy week coming again.”

“Yeah… they seem determined to make you work crazy hours these days.”

“It’s okay. I’m used to it by now. I just hope to catch on some sleep this weekend, so I won’t have to hide these dark bags under my eyes with too much make up.”

You chuckle, and he wishes you could laugh. A full-on laugh. He likes the sound of these…

Jessie’s words come back to his mind, right when he saw you leaving her apartment. He remembers what she told him, and it bothers him.

You should stop overthinking it and tell her while you still have a chance.

Is there someone else in your life? And why did you leave like this? You were almost… running away…

Maybe Jessie’s right. Everyone on set seems to have picked up that he likes you. That he has a crush on you. Maybe he should stop thinking so much about the consequences but… he can’t help it. He’s a rational man. He wishes, sometimes, for a little bit more freedom. For a little bit more naivety in his actions. But he’s lived long enough to learn that one ought to think before acting.

He heaves a sigh, without noticing, busy with his own thoughts. It makes you look up at him with a frown.

“Ben? You’re okay?”

“Hmm? Yeah, sure.”

“Why this desperate sigh, then?” you tease, amused.

“I’m sorry, I was… lost in thought…”

“Come on, tell me! A penny for your thought!”

You’re cute. It’s almost annoying how adorable you look right now. A glint of mischief alit in your eyes, and a tender smile on your lips. You look soft, domestic almost, holding tightly your coat around your frame. He wishes he could wrap an arm around you, pull you to him, use the excuse of the chilly weather to keep you close. But he knows you’re shy, introverted, and he doesn’t want to make you feel uncomfortable. He knows he’s a tactile kind of guy, but not everyone is. He doesn’t want to go too far.

Besides… if he does hold you close… will his poor little heart survive?

But he’s being ridiculous with all this. He’s not a teenager anymore. He knows how life works, how relationships work, what his feelings for you mean. He’s got to stop being so shy around you. Jessie says you like him too… maybe she’s right…

If he’s wrong, everything will become complicated. But then again… sometimes… complicated is nicer than simple.

He takes a deep breath, before diving…

“Actually… I was wondering… do you have someone in your life?”

Your eyes widen, your eyebrows shoot up… you look more than surprised…

“I… no, I’m single. Why?”

Ben shrugs, trying to calm his racing heart.

“Just… I was just wondering.”

“You?”

“Me?”

You chuckle, as he doesn’t seem to understand what you mean.

“What about you? Are you single?” you repeat, and he blushes hard, silently cursing himself.

What a moron…

“I’m single too,” he answers.

“I… why are you asking me this though?”

He notices how you shy away a little. How you bend your head. How nervous you look.

But he can’t back down this time. He’s got to do something about all this.

“Just… asking.”

“Why?”

“I thought… maybe we could… go have some diner together? Or a coffee? Or… anything you’d like, really.”

You freeze. You stop dead, standing still in the middle of the street. In a nearby alley, you hear someone singing drunkenly. You ignore the sound though. You merely stare at Ben. He’s so handsome like this, his frame tainted golden under a lamppost…

“Are you… asking me on a date?” you stutter.

“Yeah, I am.”

“Why?”

Ben blinks, an amused smile appearing on his lips.

“Why do you think I’m asking you on a date? Because I… want to go on a date with you.”

“Yes, but… I… me?”

His smile falters, he looks down at his feet, kicks into an invisible pebble, his hands still buried in his pockets. He doesn’t want you to see the way he clenches his fists…

“It’s okay if you don’t want to. I get it. It’s not going to be the first time a woman says no…”

“I’m not saying no!”

“Are you saying yes, then?”

“I just… I thought…”

But then, you remember the way he acts with Jessie, and he’s not like this with you. He didn’t offer you his arm as you walked together, the way he always does when she’s around and he…

You shake your head. You like him. If you’re to be honest with yourself, you do feel a little bit more than a crush for him. A lot more, actually.

But you’re not stupid. You’re not a teenager anymore, you know how these things work. And you don’t want to get your heart broken.

Maybe he’s just doing this to make her jealous… the thought breaks your heart…

“I don’t think you mean that,” you answer earnestly.

Ben looks up at you again, frowning hard.

“What?”

“We’re working together…”

“I know… but I don’t think it would be a problem. But then again… I can wait. If you want us to finish shooting the show before we can go on a date… I’ll wait. I’ll ask you again once we’re not working together anymore.”

You know he means it. You can see it in his brown eyes. Brown… they’re fully black though. You can’t see where his irises start, where his pupils end…

His gaze is earnest as much as it is hypnotic.

You’re more puzzled than ever.

“But… I thought… you and Jessie…”

But Ben rolls his eyes, almost annoyed.

“We’re friends. Nothing more. People like gossiping, that’s all.”

“I’ve seen the way you act with her. You two are very close.”

“And?”

“And… I thought you… were like that…”

“She’s just a friend.”

“But you’re not like that with me.”

He frowns again, but lets you continue.

“You’re… not… close to me. Not like that. I thought it was because… because you’re closer to her, than you are with me.”

“It’s just different.”

“You’re always touching and hugging everyone… but not me. It’s not just Jessie… I think it’s about me. I thought you were… friendly with me. That’s all.”

“I just…”

He lets out a breathy chuckle.

“You make me nervous,” he admits, and there’s something a little sad in his smile now. Or… not quite sad but… fragile. “Besides… you’re shy. I don’t want to make you uncomfortable. I like hugs, but I’m also aware some people don’t like that.”

“I like hugs,” you answer.

Which is quite ridiculous, and Ben can’t help but laugh.

“Good to know.”

He takes a step closer, his heart beating so fast. He hasn’t felt so giddy and excited and utterly nervous in years… what are you doing to him?

“I like you,” he confesses in a breath, letting it all out in a shaky whisper, and you stop breathing altogether at the sound. “I like you… a lot. And I’m just… nervous and… afraid to make you uncomfortable. But I… Y/N you can’t imagine how much I want to hold you right now and… touch you and… kiss you and…”

“Do it then.”

He falls silent, and you do too. Because it isn’t really like you to be so bold, but you can’t help it. You’re not really thinking anymore. His words register into your brain, you make sense of them, and you want him to do everything he’s saying out loud, and that’s all you know, all that you’re aware of. That, and the fact that he’s standing very close to you, maybe a little too close, close enough for your chests to brush against each other as you fill up your lungs with air…

“What did you say?” he asks, his voice shaking.

He’s searching for something in your eyes. You think it might be reassurance…

“I said that you should do it.”

“It?”

“All that you’ve just said.”

A crooked smile appears on his lips, his hands coming out of his pockets to reach up towards your cheeks.

“Even the part where I’m kissing you?”

You smile, nodding.

“Especially that part, I think.”

“Alright… but then… can we have a date.”

“Okay. But… everything is going to be complicated. Like… we work together and… and it’s going to be a mess and…”

“Y/N?”

“Yes?”

His palms have reached your cheeks, warm and a little calloused, and you adore the feeling. You lean into his touch, his fingertips lost in your hair.

“Do you want me to kiss you now?” he asks, leaning closer, his lips bare centimetres away from yours.

“Yes. Yes, I do… but…”

“Then let’s just get things impossibly complicated… and let’s kiss too.”

You’ve closed your eyes at the feeling of his warm breath fanning against your mouth and…

… and then he closes the gap between you. And it’s gentle, almost shy. Delicate. It becomes more heated though, after he pulls away for a second, just long enough to change the angle of his lips upon yours, so he can have better access to your mouth, so he can deepen the kiss and…

“So… are you convinced that I like you now?” Ben asks, brushing his nose against yours.

You open your eyes again, just to fall in his gaze.

- his brother disappointed in him, making signs that you were here waiting for him.

- he turned around to see you standing at the door frame of the gym a frozen expression plastered onto you as if you have just seen a ghost.

- those girls were pretty. prettier than you and the fact he let them touch up on him made your chest tighten. the gym was silent with only the sounds of volleyballs being thrown left and right. 

- you didn't say anything you just walked outside and waited for him to be done.

- he walked outside and drove you back home not even saying a single word.

he opened the door for you locking it once he entered as well. you still felt uneasy wanting an explanation as to why he would let those girls touch up on him like that. the way they touched his built physique left you a little hurt. you were sure if you brought it up to him it wouldn't be a problem right? just talk about it like a normal healthy couple does! right? of course!! you thought letting a few of the negative thoughts vanish from your mind.

you took a deep breath before you walked into the bedroom. Atsumu was sitting on your shared bed with his head against the headboard, scrolling through his phone watching videos to improve his spiking abilities. he seemed to be in a relaxed state, but he didn't spare a glance when you walked in. maybe he didn't hear you? you thought to yourself. the uneasy feeling overwhelming you feeling you'd breakdown at any second. 

“hey atsu.” you spoke lightly to him easing your way up to the bed. 

“what.” his tone clearly annoyed by you. you took a step back surprised by his tone and how he responded to you. he never replied with “what” it was always “yes?” or “yes my love?” taking another deep breath looking up to try and fight back your tears that were ready to stain your face at any minute now, “y-you okay baby?” you thought it’d be smarter to ask if he was still feeling okay and not bring up the fangirls..but you were dead wrong since it only set him off even more.

“I'm fine.” he grunted back at you still not looking up at you. he tightened the grip on his phone scrolling and staring at the videos more intensely now. “o-okay baby..um..” it wasn’t a good time to bring it up you already knew he was pissed off but you just wanted to get to the bottom of it immediately. if he was In a bad mood why would he talk to those girls all happy and giggly but with you a salty attitude? it didn't make sense you needed to know. “ why were those girls touching you like that.. were they your friends..?” that was the last straw for him he placed his phone down getting up to face you as you took a few steps back.

he was now hovering over you looking down at you full of anger, shivering at his mean gaze. “what's the issue? it’s just some fangirls who saw I was in a bad mood and wanted to cheer me up not like you who just walked away.” your hands were shaking at this point you felt sick to your stomach at how cruel he talked to you. how could you just stand there while girls were touching him and laughing clearly not caring he has a girlfriend?? what were you supposed to do walk towards him as if they weren’t there?

“but a-atsu I wanted to come cheer you up I made you some of your favorites-” 

“why do you care so much about some silly fangirls huh? don't we live together?? isn't that enough for you? but nooo you always have to think about yourself don't you?” he was being unreasonable at this point he knows how you get when fangirls are all over him. it was one of your insecurities that he’d reassure you didn't have to worry about since he’d never leave you, but here he was calling you selfish for caring about that.

finally, the gears in your head letting the tears promised to fall, fall down your cheeks. you sniffled rubbing your eyes as fast as you could to not let him see you but it was too late he already did. avoiding eye contact you spoke sniffling up your words.

“i just w-wanted to make you feel better why are you acting like this atsumu..”

you cried looking down as your tears hit the ground. his face switching from annoyance to concern, he messed up and he knows it. reaching out to hug you, you moved away from him and stormed out of the bedroom heading to the living room planting yourself on the couch as you hid underneath the covers to cry your little heart out. he followed you out the bedroom looking over at the meal and drinks you had planned for him. his favorite food and sports drink with a note written in your pretty handwriting he loved so much.

“I hope this makes you feel better baby! I love you so much!♡ xoxo”

feeling his heart crack realizing the number he did on you just now. you had every right to be upset he knew you seeing him around other girls would’ve set you off he just wanted to appear as charming as possible. if his fangirls knew he was in a bad mood it would’ve caused his reputation to sink to the ground. still, he knows he shouldn’t have let them touch him like that especially if he had you at home. he let out a sigh walking up to the couch sitting right next to you with his head thrown back on the couch eyes never leaving you, watching and hearing you carefully. 

your sniffles did so much damage to him it already hurt him when he saw you cry, but crying because of something inconsiderate he did hurt him even more.

he pulled the covers down to reveal your redden tear-stained faced stilling sniffling but not fighting back when he pulled you into his chest. how could you fight back? you loved him you never want to consider leaving him as an option. you just wanted to fix things and so you let out a soft apology as he rubbed comforting circles on your back.

“no baby I'm sorry...I was being stupid and was in a bad mood but that doesn't give me the right to hurt you like this..” his voice soft yet firm making you ease up more into his chest as you sat in his lap to face him wrapping your arms around his neck.

he looked like a sad puppy he felt bad he really did which brought you to kiss him on the lips he smiled into the kiss feeling relieved. this lasted for what felt like forever. you pulled away and he rubbed the last bit of tears off your pretty eyes.

“I'm sorry baby I really am..I was like..an idiot sandwich you know?” you giggled at his joke making him smile as if he just won back his girlfriend. “it's okay atsu I love you.. please don't forget that okay?” he nodded pulling you in once more for a much more deeper and passionate kiss, wrapping his arms around your waist while his hands roamed your body. letting out a soft moan into the kiss, his hands went under your shirt as he pulled away smirking.

“why don't you let me make it up to you pretty girl let me show you that those silly fangirls don’t mean anything to me yeah?”

- he was always busy with volleyball

- which meant coming home really late.

- you supported him nonetheless adoring how talented he looked going against teams

- you just felt..empty without him

- he wasn’t just your lover but... your best friend 

- you missed his touch and his presence in general

- he kept coming home late from practice each week making you miss him more and more

- some nights he wouldn't even come home and would stay at a teammate's apartment at the very last minute instead of coming home to cuddle you like how he always did.

 - this made your head spiral wondering if he even acknowledges how much you miss him. 

- you understand his practice and games end really late but still, you were his girlfriend a little reassurance through a phone call or a facetime would be enough for you to sleep alright for a night.

- his texts also caused you to feel more alone back then he would spam you with stupid stuff the twins were doing back in high school and even a little bit now with stuff his teammates were doing with the occasional “i love yous” and the simple but sweet heart emojis he’d send. now it wasn't even like that. 

you glanced at your phone and it was 11:34 PM and still no text from him or sign of his arrival. did he even care at this point? you wondered tossing and turning in your shared bed scrolling through Instagram. your eyes lit up when he messaged you. hoping maybe it would be an i love you or an apology for being so neglectful towards you. 

“hey. i’ll be coming home at 12.”

“okay tarō be safe. I love you♡”

you sighed feeling a little happy he at least was coming home soon. still, an I love you back would’ve been nice. you waited for him for a few more minutes trying your hardest not to fall asleep. it's been so long since you two been together or specifically seen each other. part of you was excited to see your boyfriend after weeks of not seeing him but part of you was upset. so many weeks of you being alone sleeping alone without his chest to cling on or his shoulder to lay on when you cried over your favorite shows.

you jolted up when you heard the door open finally, he was home, you happily walked to the front door. Suna took off his shoes before entering placing them at the front door. you greeted him kissing his cheek hugging him tightly, you missed this..you missed him.

“hey y/n. I'm tired do you mind?”

you pulled away looking up at his dissatisfied expression. first, he calls you by your actual name and then tells you to back off after god knows how long you’ve seen him. he walked past you heading straight to the bathroom to wash up. you stood there appalled at the fact he barely acknowledged you only to tell you back off. you couldn’t believe it but you tried to shrug it off, maybe he was in a bad mood? he’ll still cuddle you to sleep so you have that to look forward too!...you hoped.

when you walked back to the bedroom he was already going underneath the covers and you followed, going under them with him, while his back was facing you. you waited a while to see if he’d ask you if you wanted to cuddle. waiting... and still not a word not even a goodnight when he finally turned the lights off.

you missed him so much all you wanted was him to acknowledge you just a little. you moved closer to his back and hugged him from behind. 

“god, y/n why are you so needy all of a sudden?” rolling his eyes at you in annoyance. you moved your hands back to you sitting up to face him.

“why I’m so needy?? jeez tarō I don't know maybe I haven't seen my boyfriend in god knows how many weeks!” you snapped back at him causing him to get out of the bed. 

“It was 5 weeks it wasn’t even that bad!” he yelled back at you, you felt your heart become heavy looking at his eyes that had not a trace of love in them while your very own eyes felt heavy holding back tears.

“you’ve been coming home late all the damn time suna! sometimes you don't even show up! I miss you so much sometimes I....” you froze the tears finally starting to fall. “I don't even think you love me anymore..” 

he froze his eyes widening at your final words. how could he be so blind? his sweet girl had every right to be needy for him 5 weeks must've felt like an entirety to you and now that he finally gets home he's acting like an assshole to you pushing you away as if you were nothing but an obstacle. he sat back down on the bed to hug you. a genuine one full of love and regret. it was silent for a few minutes of just the two of you tight in each other's embrace. 

“I’m..sorry my love...I didn't mean to yell at you like that I miss you too I just..I'm sorry” he felt bad he didn't mean to hurt you. he knows he's at fault here and all he can do is mumble apologies while he pulls you close to him as he hides his face in the crook of your neck for comfort. you hugged back of course finally having him in your arms brought you joy. 

“it's okay tarō...I love you...we’ll be okay, okay?” he nodded planting soft kisses on your forehead. “I love you too baby..but let's go to bed my love it's getting late..” smiling he pulled you into his chest to cuddle you to sleep wiping the remaining tears you had still left in you. after a while you fell asleep in his chest while he watched you sleep peacefully.

“heh.. you’re such a crybaby .” he smiled pulling you in closer planting soft kisses on you trying not to wake you.

“I love you y/n I promise to make it all up to you.”

I literally can’t stop thinking about how the finale is going to play out for Greta and Riley and was wondering if you could give me your theories if you have any.

Like we know that they’re finally going to talk to each other but who do you think is going to initiate the conversation? What’s going to happen that they finally breakdown and talk? Also, what do you think is going on with Luz? Do you think she’s the one that tells Greta about her and Riley or does Riley tell her herself? Why else would Luz be at the party though? I’m having such a hard time picturing how it’s all going to play out in this one episode. Like there’s so much that needs to be addressed will it even end on a good note for them?? If the season ends with them on bad terms and we don’t get a season 2 I’ll be devastated.

Sorry that’s a lot of questions but I just want to know how you think it’s all gonna go down. I’ve loved reading all of your other theories and analyses!

alright alright let me answer this question by question lmao but this is all speculation ofc because I have NO IDEA

because the pics we have of the conversation are in riley's room and because she's been the one to try to initiate conversation the past three times we've seen them talk - in ep 14 when riley yells at greta, the 'wow greta you look great' line (still can't believe she said this on a group facetime aljsfdjsald) and their final almost-convo in ep 15 - it seems most likely that it will be riley who pulls her aside so that they can be alone in a room together (for like the third time ever!!!) and so that she can finally hear the end of 'actually I wanted to tell you'

on the other hand I'm also thinking that maybe greta has had enough of being interrupted. she's been trying to have this out with riley for so long that maybe on this third attempt she just shuts them in a room together so that she can say her piece. if she's been thinking over this one conversation and all the different ways it could go endlessly for days then maybe she just hits the point where she can't hold it in for a second longer

from the sneak peek where greta says 'I can like someone, like really like them' the only thing that makes sense to me is her explaining that she is actually extremely into riley, that she can really like someone if she's connected with them and that that person is riley. in the hug at the end of the sneak peek greta looks like she's crying so I've seen people speculate that it's like a goodbye hug or something, but if I had finally spilled my guts to this girl that I'm all in on I'd probably be bawling too. maybe riley pulls her in to tell her that everything is going to be alright, and that she's valid and that riley still likes her so much no matter what?? they're always so tentative with touching each other and the only other time they've hugged it was pretty brief and awkward at x files night, so that hug honestly just looks like relief to me. it must feel so good for both of them just to hold onto each other like that - a mirror of the hug between chester and riley in ep 14. some people just make you feel correct

in terms of luz being there, the afterparty at riley's house is filled with a bunch of other random people from their school like the party in the pilot so it's not weird to me that she's there. maybe luz is regretting giving up on greta and is coming back for a second try, or maybe she's just there to either have a good time or start drama idk at this point

this dialogue from ep 15 has me really interested to see whether riley chooses to perpetuate her dad's cycle of dishonesty because she feels she has no choice, or if she decides to diverge from this doomed path that she thinks is set for her because of who her parents are

if they're doing it just for the drama then she's obviously going to keep it from greta and then luz will come along to ruin everything, but I think it would be much more interesting for them to queer this narrative of untruth and subvert those expectations that we have. riley's not stupid, she knows it's going to hurt greta but I would love if they let her realise that keeping this from greta now is just going to make things worse in the long run

she already has that threat of 'not yet' from luz hanging over her head, and it would be so cool and different for there to be this conversation between the two of them that is just completely honest and sets them up with a clean slate to continue their relationship on. not that I think it will happen really but I'd also love for greta to hear about the hook up and tell riley 'okay I understand that you were upset that night and that made you act in a way that you regret. I don't hate you, you're not a bad person and you're not your dad' rather than being some massive shocking revelation, like that kind of patience and acceptance of trauma is something that we never really see

I really hope that riley tells greta everything that's happening with her home life as well. the 'stuff I don't wanna tell you' line was so pointed and I need her to know that greta is literally just worried because she cares about her so much, and that she honestly does just want to hear what riley's struggling with so she can help her carry that load. we've had two specific instances in ep 1 and ep 9 (funny how the two halves of the season start with this) where riley and greta have been trying to check in and ask the other if they're okay and also get interrupted, so this is finally a chance to not only talk about their own feelings but everything outside of that as well

I really hope this season will end on a good note. obviously they won't be able to resolve everything but even just having a little moment of something at the end of the episode, like that quiet car ride with that tiny hopeful uptick that is bo replying to chester at the end of ep 8 is kind of enough for me as long as we get a season two. I've said this before but ending a season of a show about queer people on some cliffhanger of pain and misery and chaos just seems like the absolute wrong message for any creator who is also queer to send. like that's why we make art that represents ourselves, to tell kids that it does get better, and there is hope and light and love at the end of the tunnel

not to compare this show to euphoria because I think it’s reductive but there's this thing that sam levinson says about his show that I think really applies here too with how zelda and her dads talk about this show and it makes me feel at least a little bit optimistic about this final episode:

'It’s about how if you keep your heart open, there are people who can change your life, and it’s about love, and it’s a show about being seen and heard and known. It doesn’t cure everything but it sure as fuck helps.'

Hello!! I'm still here! :) The thing is... I just took some days offline to gain some perspective about the season, so I've watched the clips on my own. A lot of people in my asks were adamantly saying that this is actually a good Sana season for once, so I started wondering if I was truly missing the big picture because I was getting too carried away by the annoyance I felt because of the lack of Sobbe lol. Sadly, these past week's clips have done nothing but reaffirm my opinion: this is not a good season at all. It had so many issues since the beginning that most people chose to ignore, but in the current second half of the season instead of improving, the issues keep getting worse and are becoming more noticeable. Idk why people are actually surprised things turned this way with the girl squad, I saw something like this coming since EP2.

Maybe the fandom won't agree with me in this but most of the season (except for some clips) hasn’t felt like the wtFOCK a lot of people used to like. I think that after S3 and maybe wtFOCKdown, everything collapsed. I don't know if it was covid, writers, producers, etc., but I guess it doesn't matter anymore. The last, final chance they had to improve is mostly gone now. Other remakes said goodbye leaving you with such warm, nostalgic feelings and tight, amazing squads, but the moment wtFOCK tries to make some emotional goodbye with both girl and boy squads together talking about "alt er love" I'll just sigh and shake my head... well, except with Sobbe ofc. That has been the only tight, genuine, consistent and beautiful relationship in the show since S3. Robbe's also the most genuine, consistent, dimensional character in the whole series and i'm just really thankful writers haven't had the chance to ruin that like it happened with Zoë. Aside from Robbe and Zoë, the rest of characters are just empty shells the writers didn't bother developing or giving more depth since S3 or maybe even S2. This literally applies to every single character... Amber, Luca, Jens, Aaron, Britt, etc, etc.... So no, they’re not OoC, they’re just stuck. Don't even get me started with the relationships (either of friendship or romance), most of them are gone and the few left are just appallingly bad, making you realize that more than friends everyone is mostly only classmates. They had S4 and S5 to make the girl squad more tight after the mistakes they did with boy squad in S3, but they chose not to do it and instead worsened it, so now they even feel like the complete strangers they were in S1. This is the most disperse and random girl squad in the whole Skam universe and it’d the final season!

And this is because the production team of this show doesn't care about their characters. They're just tools for them and with each week that goes by, they won't hesitate to use in whatever way they find appropriate or fitting, except for growth ofc. This show is all about drama and conflicts, so one week it'll be so good and then the next week week it'll so bad that any development they created will be destroyed just like that. Luca is a good example of this. In early eps she was a good, supporting friend but in just three clips she became a coward, indifferent girl more interested in going to a trip with a bunch of popular girls she barely even knows. A girl who perfectly knows what is going on with Yasmina, what's upsetting her, and still chose to remain silent and ruthlessly unsopportive. There’s no way they can make this right ever again, and whatever reconciliation the girl squad may have in the future is going to be pretty bland and little credible tbh.

Alexis tugged at her dress. Even though she was still early in the pregnancy, her clothes were already fitting differently. She could see the beginnings of a bump in the mirror. Loki’s clothes fit him like a glove. Like a perfectly tailored, bespoke “look at me I am so fucking handsome” glove, Alexis groused to herself, tugging again at the neckline.

“Do you always fidget so much?” Loki questioned as they walked towards the entrance of the restaurant Tony made reservations at for them.

“No. None of my clothes aren’t fitting right. My bump is starting to show.”

“Have JARVIS order you some new ones.” Loki commented back. He held the door open for her. He didn’t think the dress was fitting Alexis poorly. Quite the contrary, as the low neckline highlighted her breasts in a manner Loki found rather stimulating. He particularly enjoyed the tiny stomach bump developing on her.

“Two, under the name Stark.” Loki wrapped his arm around Alexis’s waist as the bartender smiled at them from across the entrance. His grip tightened as a spark of jealousy hit him.

The maitre’d nodded and led them to a cozy table off to the side, and thankfully for Loki, out of the eyeline of the bar.

The server came by and asked for drink orders.

“Scotch neat.”

Alexis’s face dropped. “Just water, please.” A glass of wine sounded tempting right now.

The server nodded and moved away, but Loki grabbed his arm. “On second thought, water and Diet Coke for me.”

The server changed the order and stepped away. Alexis squirmed in her seat. “You didn’t need to do that on my account. I’m an adult and so are you. You can drink if you want.”

The server returned with the drinks and left to give them more time with the menus. Loki pushed the Diet Coke in front of Alexis. “A peace offering. If you can try, so can I.”

Alexis took a long draw of the soda and hummed. “Thank you, Loki.”

“My pleasure.” The server returned, ready to take their order.

“What would you recommend?” she asked.

“The tuna tartare is popular.” The server gestured to the menu. Loki coughed and raised an eyebrow.

“I don’t like anything raw.” Alexis lied. Sushi was one of her favorites. “Anything else?”

She settled on a seasonal risotto while Loki ordered a steak, medium rare. Once the server left, the two of them carried on a polite conversation until their bread service and entrees arrived. Alexis noticed as she ate, a blonde woman sneaking glances at their table.

“Loki, do you know her?”

He turned around to glance and shrugged his shoulders. “She looks vaguely familiar, but I can’t recall. I’ve met many people in my last year here.”

“LOKI!” The woman was now at their table. Alexis wasn’t entirely sure what was preventing the woman’s boobs from slipping out of her dress.

Loki narrowed his eyes. “Hello, um…”

“Ashlyn! You silly.” She slapped Loki’s shoulder. “You would think a god would have a better memory?”

“You would, wouldn’t you?” Alexis leaned forward on her hands, mocking Ashlyn.

Ashlyn turned to Loki, oblivious to Alexis, although Loki glared at her across the table. “I am so sorry, Ashlyn. I shall endeavor to do better.” He flashed her a smile.

“I can’t believe you never called me after our last date, and now I find you here out with another woman!”

“Oh, we aren’t dating!” Loki and Alexis responded simultaneously.

“She’s a friend.” Loki added.

“From work.” Alexis chimed in.

“Well then,” Ashlyn reached across and grabbed a spare cocktail napkin, she scribbled on it, leaning over the table to ensure Loki receive an eyeful of her ample cleavage. “Call me sometime.” Ashlyn tucked the napkin into Loki’s shirt pocket before walking off.

Alexis’s gaze followed Ashlyn until the blonde sat back down at her table.

“I’m surprised you didn’t drag her into the bathroom right in front of me.” Alexis sniped.

Loki scowled at her. “I am not that crass. And if I recall, you pulled me into that bathroom.”

Alexis sneered as she pushed her half eaten risotto away, no longer hungry. Loki frowned. “You need to eat.”

“My stomach doesn’t feel so good. I’m not feeling well.” Sure as shit, she wasn’t feeling well. She realized they weren’t beholden’d to each other and hell she even gave him permission to date. But Alexis never imagined it would sting this much.

“Then we should return home at once.” Loki signaled for the check, oblivious to the true reasons for Alexis’s upset stomach.

Tony was waiting for them in the common room, clearly wanting all the juicy gossip. Loki wrapped his arm around Alexis as they walked through.

“Look at the two of you!” Tony called out, scaring the shit out of Alexis.

“Does everyone around here just lurk in corners?” She clasped her hand on her chest.

“Not now, Stark. Alexis isn’t feeling well.” Loki snapped, not stopping.

Tony shuffled to follow them, cutting them off at the hallway entrance. “Just answer one question, was there a love connection?”

“Oh, there definitely was.” Alexis grumbled. Tony did a little fist pump. “Loki snagged a date with Ashlyn, the real life blow-up doll.”

“I beg your pardon?” Loki’s head at her and he removed his arm.

“Come on! She practically shoved her tits in your face, Loki. With me sitting there.”

“I’m going to bed.” Tony muttered and hightailed it out of the line of fire.

“You said you didn’t care.” Loki countered.

“And I don’t!” Alexis moaned, lying to herself and to Loki. She was getting a headache. “I don’t.” She took a deep breath. “I just don’t need it happening right in front of me, okay?”

Loki shoved his hands in his pants pockets. “Apologies. I hadn’t considered…”

“Spare the apologies, Loki.” She moved away from him. “I’m going to bed.” She walked away at a brisk pace.

When Loki got there, he peeked into her room, but she was already under the covers, eyes closed.

Loki avoided Alexis for the next week. They exchanged little more than pleasantries in the morning and evening. Alexis spent more of her evenings in her office on the 5th floor rather in the apartment with Loki. She didn’t go anywhere. Loki insisted it wasn’t safe, now that she was showing. The walls were closing in and Alexis was going stir crazy.

One evening, Alexis was lying on the couch watching TV when Loki came out of his room dressed in a black suit.

“Going on your date?” Her tone sharp and words pointed. “Give Blow Up Barbie my best.”

“You said you didn’t want to know. But yes, I am meeting Ashlynn tonight.” He tightened his tie. He didn’t really want to go, but Ashlynn didn’t stop calling until he gave a firm date.

“I don’t. Just curious whether to make an entire pot of coffee in the morning or not? Should I expect you home tonight?”

“I wouldn’t bother.” Loki adjusted his cufflinks. “Enjoy your show.”

“Use protection!” She yelled after him.

Loki smiled as he shut the door behind him. Alexis tried to focus on her show, but couldn’t. She couldn’t pinpoint why this date bothered her so much. Alexis harbored no romantic feelings for Loki. She barely got through a conversation without insulting him.

“Fuck it.” She grabbed her phone. “And fuck him.”

“Hannah? Yeah. Can you come pick me up at Avengers Tower?”

“Warden letting you out on good behavior?” Hannah giggled. She enjoyed joking about Alexis being held captive.

“More like a prison break.”

“Did you want to grab dinner or something?”

“How about dancing? Somewhere loud and slightly crazy.” Alexis stood and went to her closet, selecting a skintight electric blue dress. It would highlight her newfound curves.

“Are you sure? What about Loki?” Hannah questioned.

“When the cat’s away… He is out. On a date. Get me back here before morning and he will never know.”

“Devious. I’m in.”

“Twenty minutes, Hannah. I’ll meet you downstairs.”

She dressed and fixed her hair before slipping on a pair of high heels. A quick glance down the hallway and Alexis slinked towards the elevator.

“Loki takes the service elevator when he skulks out at night.” Clint stepped out of the shadows. “I see he didn’t share his trade secrets with you.”

Alexis jumped a bit but regained her composure. “Jesus Christ. Between you and Tony… I’m not skulking. Just meeting a friend.”

“Fancy dress for a friend.”

“Nosy question for a man who crawls through the vents.” Alexis narrowed her eyes at Clint.

“Just an observation. Have a good evening.” Clint nodded and disappeared into the shadows of the night.

Hannah was waiting outside when she made her way outside.

“I worried you got caught.”

“Just a bird in the vents distracting me. Have faith in me. Now… let’s party.”

Hannah hooked her arm with Alexis and they took off down the sidewalk.

Loki’s mind wandered as Ashlynn droned on about her number of Instagram followers. Social media did not interest Loki. Not even a bit. He remembered why he “forgot” to call Ashlyn back the first time. While she may be nice to look at, it was all style and no substance. Blow Up Barbie was an apt name, Loki mused. He chuckled at Alexis’s joke as he replayed it in his mind.

“What so funny, Loki?” Ashlyn questioned as they walked out of the restaurant.

“What?” He turned to her in shock. “Oh, just something someone told me earlier.” He brushed it off.

“A joke?” Ashlyn perked up. She hopped and her boobs bounced in a way boobs shouldn’t. Loki had said little that night. “Tell me.”

“You won’t enjoy it.” Loki deflected. “It is rather offensive.” He smiled again, thinking about many of Alexis’s off-color jokes. He often found it hard to not laugh.

“Fine.” Ashlyn pouted. “Let’s go back to my place.” She tugged him in the opposite direction of the Tower.

Loki sighed. “I think I should head home.” He feigned a yawn. “I am tired and I have an early meeting tomorrow.”

Ashlyn frowned at him. “On a Sunday?”

Loki coughed. “An Avenger never has a day off.” He was failing at ending this date. Loki wondered if Alexis would still be up.

“Really, because you always said—” Ashlyn’s comment interrupted by Loki’s cell phone.

He frowned when he saw Alexis’s number on the screen. He answered the call.

“I told you not to wait—” He snapped into the phone, even though moments ago he was ready to call it a night.

“It’s Alexis’s friend, Hannah. You don’t know me, but—”

“What happened? Where are you? Where’s Alexis?” Loki snapped. Ashlyn leaned in to listen to the conversation. Loki turned his back to her.

“We’re at the police station. Can you come bail her out?”

Loki paled. “Give me the address.”

hi i saw your post about the newest ep and i have some thoughts. i was into spn for years (haven't watched since s13) and i wanted to say that i think the validation is real for fans and no one is making fun of them for it, i feel validated and i haven't watched in years. cas and dean were my comfort characters for a long time but the sheer homophobia of that scene/spn in general is ridiculous. 11 years of queerbaiting to have cas confess his love and then die because of it? the implications are def there and it's honestly so sad to me that joking is the only way to cope. there are so many things to unpack and i get that some people find joy in the ep, i think that's okay but it truly is so homophobic and it definitely was a terrible way to thank the fans of 11+ years who have noticed the subtext and have been waiting/hoping for it to become canon. it's terrible representation and terrible writing. i really wish that we had gotten the recognition that we deserved with that episode instead of a love confession used to kill off a character that carried the show for two or three seasons. i'm not using this to bash your thoughts in anyway, i just wanted to add some commentary as well. i liked the points you brought up and im glad it brought you joy, but for a lot of people (myself included) it really does hurt seeing homophobia so strongly presented in a show that used to be a comfort. i hope the series finale is enjoyable and i hope you're having a great day!

But also okay onto your actual comment - definitely didn’t think anyone was making fun of fans, didn’t think I wrote that but if I did I def didn’t mean it that way. And I may agree with you, I may not - personally, I think:

This show has killed off Sam, Cas, and Dean multiple times and they’ve always been brought back. 

Cas got dragged off into The Empty with two episodes left to go and them continuously bringing up The Empty as part of the final storyline makes me think that this probably isn’t the end for Cas. 

If not, fine, I’ll criticize that part of it but with the way this show usually is I don’t really expect Cas to stay in The Empty lmao. 

And I get how if they both are queer but aren’t together or if one of them stays dead that it’s not going to be validating for folks and that’s understandable too! There’s much better posts about it but for me personally, I’d rather actual canon acknowledgment than blatant queerbaiting (like with Bly Manor having a queer couple but still involving death of characters for example). Even f I dislike how something was portrayed, I can at least critique through the lens of knowing things were canon and intentionally placed there versus me second-guessing at every turn if I’m just reading too much/projecting into a story or not. Again, I want to wait and see how the next two eps pan out (I’m happy now based on what we currently have, but it absolutely does also depend on how the last two eps go). 

This is a semi tangent but I said I get the jokes and why people are upset! I think personally where I start getting annoyed is when people who don’t watch the show are giving off hot takes about it when it doesn’t relate in context or when I see posts that say that they “set the gay rights movement a few years back” because those just....severely bother me and I think even in the realm of jokes are just too irritating for me to see. It’s that and people just continuously acting like Supernatural is a completely embarrassing show and making fun of it rather than actual critiques like..that may not be making fun of fans ofc but it’s just one of those “cringe culture” jokes/tones that I hate, where liking any aspect of the show is now “cringey” and embarrassing and I kind of can’t wait for those posts to be over tbh!

so first off, i did two wish rolls the other night and guess what? on one roll i got BOTH bennett AND qiqi!!!!!! What's your opinion over Utopia? i have seen till episode 3 and i would stop watching if it wasn't for Cory Michael Smith, in my opinion the English one was a lot better , i wasn't huge fan of its characters but the story and directing was over the top and don't get me started about the phenomenal music scores by Cristobal tapia De Veer the same person who wrote the original music of Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, the Amazon's Utopia is not as good as the older one was in many things and maybe i am rushing to judgement since i haven't finished all season but i don't believe my opinion will change, love Cory though he is amazing as Thomas Christie.

Other than a vague memory of knowing I enjoyed it, I have no recollection of the original uk Utopia at all, I watched it so long ago!

So that likely helped my enjoyment of the Amazon version, because I simply have nothing to compare it to (and on the whole music... is not that important to me, so I doubt I'd have even noticed that the original show had a better score, even if I did remember it! Soz, I'm just... bad at music).

So upshot is, I DID enjoy the Amazon Utopia, even without Cory. I grew quite fond of the other characters (aside from Thomas' dad, perhaps, I wasn't so interested in him). I liked how none of them were really good or innocent (save for the kids! And I esp enjoyed the evolving relationship between Grant and Alice - did you meet Alice yet? - and their relationship with Jessica).

Post episode three you start getting more exploration of the antagonists too - Arby (RB?) starts to develop and doubt/question his 'purpose', which I found interesting, you meet more members of the organisation/family, and there's a bit of exploration of how brainwashing / being raised in a cult affects your understanding of the world and if you can really ever be fully desensitized from emotion/empathy/love etc (Jessica's character/chatacterisation/development is a lot about that too and there's one moment between Thomas and his father that relates to the theme that struck me in particular, but I won't elaborate cos I'm trying to avoid specific spoilers!). But stories about characters escaping/fighting/defying brainwashing/cults are... kinda my jam, so that's more of a personal reason for my enjoyment I guess (that was one of the big aspects of Cas' plot/character that made me fall in love with him and his story).

I thought Becky and Ian's little romantic subplot was sweet and post ep 3 it has some comedic moments that made me chuckle as well (and I found Becky was a joy to watch in general tbh). Also thought Wilson was Fun :p

I liked the black humour. I LOVED the artwork for the Utopia comic (ofc maybe the uk version was better? but like I say, I honestly can't remember it).

BUT, all that said, my enjoyment is still only what I'd call a casual or passing enjoyment. Like, it hasn't changed my world. I'm not rushing to rewatch any of it (although I do kinda wanna rewatch the original now).

I'm invested enough that if they do make a second season I'll tune in. I wanted more immediately after I finished, but I was deep in marathon mode at that point, lol. But... if another season doesn't get made I'm not gonna be too upset/disappointed. And... honestly, unless my dash starts talking/posting serious meta about it to keep the story fresh for me, there's a decent chance that I'm gonna forget about the whole thing in a week or two :P

Sorry, that got unnecessarily long! Was basically me sorting out my thoughts/feelings about the whole thing. Dunno if it helps you! Based on my reaction to the show I think you are correct in thinking your overall enjoyment will not increase that much if you keep watching - but I would say it's still entertaining enough to make watching to the end worthwhile (and Cory does get more screentime post ep 3 ;p)

SPOILERS AHOY (ISH)

It’s been like four years since I did a post like this, so here’s me dumping my thoughts on various, random things I’ve been into/thinking about lately.

I’ll be covering Miraculous Ladybug S3, Fire Emblem Three Houses, My Hero Academia, The MCU, Chocolate/Zen: Warrior Within, Pokemon SwSh, Victorious, BtVS/Angel, and Star Wars: RoS so just a warning for potential spoilers. Also, there will be salt and gushing, so proceed with caution.

Victorious

--> Ok, so this show came out when I was already in high school, so I think some of my opinions and takes on the show are going to contrast with the general consensus.

--> But I’m firmly in the pro-Tori Vega camp. Do I agree with her kissing Beck in the pilot? No. But considering that Jade humiliated her in front of her class for a small misunderstanding that could have been easily cleared up if Jade took five seconds to hear Tori out, I find it difficult to feel bad for Jade. Plus, Tori gets called out for this a couple of times in later episodes anyway. 

--> As for Cat’s BF, yeah, that was shitty too but A. He was originally Tori’s BF and they only broke up a year prior to the episode and B. Not only does Tori feel immediate remorse for what she does (spraying Cat with cheese and then kissing her bf in front of her), but she apologizes and never does anything like it again for the rest of the show. BTW, these are both season one incidents, so clearly Tori grows out of this.

--> Plus, I can relate to some of Tori’s awkward traits, like being kind of annoying, not having the best verbal comebacks and feeling pretty average.

--> On the other hand, I can’t stand Jade. Her attitude reminds me of a girl I used to be on and off friends with in middle school. She ended up embarrassing me in front of the cast of our fall play in eighth grade and never apologized for it. Plus she would say or do things that, in hindsight, made it clear she didn’t want me around.

--> But I mean, at least that girl didn’t steal a pint of my blood meant to be used in a mutual friend’s operation, so...

--> Although clearly, Rex the Puppet is the worst character on this show. Jade at least does stuff, why do we need to have Rex around...?

--> My ships are Tandre (Tori/Andre) and Catrina (Cat/Trina)! Tori and Andre always look like they have fun performing together or just hanging out, and their friendship is just so precious. I wish Cat and Trina had more scenes together, because I loved their road trip in “Tori the Zombie” and they’re both dysfunctional in their own ways, but trying their best!! 

BtVS/Angel

--> Nothing new really. But my Tandre feels reminded me how much I also loved Gunn/Fred and wished that they stayed together. Even their ship name, Funn, is precious and gahhhhhhh breaking them up was a mistake!

My Hero Academia

--> It took me like 3-4 years after watching the first episode, but I finally watched it.

--> I’m surprised by how much I really like Izuku. Like, I normally like the protagonist fine, but Izuku just really stood out to me. He’s socially awkward, but in a pretty understandable way, intelligent and passionate without using any of it to put other people down, and ofc he cares about his friends and saving other people because what shonen protagonist doesn’t? The only thing I don’t like about him is his hero worship of Bakugo, but that’s just my bias.

--> Oh, yeah, I don’t like Bakugo. 

--> Relating to Aizawa the most, and realizing that it’s because I’m getting older hukjdshfaskdnfj 

--> I don’t have a ship I’m the most invested in, but I like Izuku with both Todoroki and Uraraka, and I also like Uraraka with Tsuyu. Erasermic is also really good.

--> Not a fan of Eraserjoke. I don’t like the way she continues to ask Aizawa out and then plays it off as a joke when he rejects her like. Like, it’s such a high school thing to do, it’s so weird seeing two grown adults do it. Just take the L and move on, Ms. Joke. Not only is it creepy to continue asking someone out when they say no, it’s annoying to pretend that you didn’t really mean it because it makes it difficult to read you in future scenarios. 

Fire Emblem Three Houses

--> Love it love it love it.

--> Like Fire Emblem has always been more of my brother’s thing, but with Awakening, Fates and Three Houses introducing easier difficulty options, I’ve found it much easier to get into the series. Like, I’m a pretty casual gamer so I’m not looking for anything too challenging most of the time.

--> Ofc I knew going in I was picking Golden Deer, and I was not disappointed. I love everyone every single student in there. The atmosphere was so chaotic, that I just knew recruiting everyone that I could to make it more so just had to be done.

--> Claude and Hilda are the best lord and “retainer” respectively, don’t @ me.

MCU

--> Uh, I haven’t really kept up with MCU stuff since Endgame (which I didn’t care for tbh). I just wanted to remind everyone that I hate Tony Stark :)

Miraculous Ladybug S3

(me @ this entire season tbh)

--> I don’t really post much about ML on this blog anymore because I ended up making a side blog (for salt mostly tbh). But in case anyone doesn’t keep up with what happens over there, I basically hated this entire season lol.

--> Ok, I loved Silencer. Best episode in the season period, no questions asked. I also really liked Kwamibuster and Startrain. Desperada grew on me over time, while Bakerix was... okay, I guess. And Felix was entertaining, even if I felt that the message that they were trying to get across was forced and meant to shut the fandom up. Oblivio was good until that ending, and once Silencer came along, I quickly learned I had no use for it anyway. It being an amnesia episode did it no favors, either.

--> Just as I feared, the season revolved more around humiliating or putting Marinette in really embarrassing situations for the same of “drama”. The Puppeteer 2 is a really good example of this. And it’s upsetting, because none of this actually does anything for Marinette’s character. She’s not even allowed to breakdown or be upset about anything that goes wrong for her until the end of “Heart Hunter” and even that only lasts, like, ten seconds.

--> Also, I don’t ship the Love Square anymore. Lukanette all the way, baby.

--> Let’s be real, Marinette/Happiness should be the real OTP of the show.

--> The fact that every episode of season 4 is supposed to be as dramatic as Chat Blanc does not leave me hopeful for the future. Like, really, you’re going to use an episode in which an entire timeline’s worth of events gets erased and leaves everyone with no memories of it as the basis of your emotional impact going forward? Um, thank you, next.

Rise of Skywalker

--> Haven’t seen it and after seeing the spoilers, I don’t plan to. I really liked TFA, and was excited to see what they did with the Rey-Poe-Finn dynamic. I was not here for Kylo Ren or Reylo. I guess Finn/Rey is joining Tandre and Funn in my “missed opportunity OTPs” corner. D:

Chocolate/Zen: Warrior Within

--> OMG one of my fave movies of all time. Like I appreciate it more and more with age. It’s basically everything I want in a movie.

--> The scene where Zen discovers that her mom’s hair is falling out and she blames herself for it always gets me. Like I always forget about it, so when I see it again, I can’t help but nearly breakdown myself, because I know exactly what Zen’s thought process is without her even having to say anything. I feel just as overwhelmed as she does in the moment and nearly cry every time watching it.

--> One of the few movies that I wish actually got a sequel. Like I have so many questions that could be answered. How do Zen and Moom adjust to living in Japan? How does Zen’s father try to relate to her and Moom? Do they make any other friends? Will Zen get access to resources that will help her? Will they be further ostracized because of their status as outsiders? As someone who already struggles verbally, how will Zen adapt to living in a country that primarily speaks another language? 

Pokemon SwSh

--> Multiplayer is so much fun and wayyyy more accessible than in the past imo. A bunch of people at my martial arts school would do raid battles before classes, so I would always leave to get there early and play with them. 10/10 experience, and it makes me excited to get Animal Crosssing to do the same thing.

--> But on the other hand, I feel like this game has a lot less going for it than SuMo. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but it feels like too much is missing. Like I still enjoy it, but it’s more for the gameplay and less for the story. I’m also not nearly as invested in my team like I was last time (I loved my Sun team so much, I basically kept it the same for US, minus one or two changes). i actually wasn’t too nervous! i knew paul, iain, and joe would all be sweet and i was excited for sian because no middle-aged funny lady has ever not been a legend. even though i don’t think it was a god tier season i thought they were all endearing in their own ways (even iain lmao) and i think we appreciate that kind of pleasantness. i had thought it was going to be a touch more competitive — which is my taste, which is why i liked s2 so much, for example — because iain and even lou were bringing it hard in the beginning, but they seemed to succumb to the wrath of the taskmaster pretty quickly and begin just going along with what he decided without much fuss or drama. that said, i also think the taskmaster was a little lax; you may have noticed plenty of rounds he didn’t give out 1 or even 2 points, like prize tasks were 3-3-3-4-5 points opposed to someone having to come last even if they did a decent job (which can cause some fun drama). i thought the editing of the tasks was really back up to par this series and i loved the return of sassy talkative alex like we had in s1 and 2. i really think it was a lot of fun!

i would really enjoy seeing glenn moore and larry dean more, who i think were some of the best newcomers to have come on the show in a long time. as for guests from very previous series? ooo well i def miss gina and do think david should be on every show forever until the end of time, obviously, but hmm it’d be great to see holly walsh, sarah millican, and jo brand again!! they’re all ace with those big group dynamics which is super important on that series in particular. i also miss frankie with my every fibre

it may have very well been an act back in 2017, or maybe you were just really receptive to even him at his most honestly aggressive, hard to say. i was much more forgiving of that aggression the second time i saw him live but by the third and fourth times i was very much on the same page as those in the thread and thought it was borderline unprofessional and barely funny. honestly to each his own though, bc if it can pass as comedy then it is comedy, truly. the worst of it i saw was when a woman got up to use the restroom during the set and he ended up berating her for ten mins over it, and after the show she was outside telling people she was so sorry she upset him but she couldn’t wait any longer to change her tampon...seriously brutal. i really don’t have any reason to believe it’s an act. he’s mentioned many, many times on his podcasts that he is very sensitive, is sidetracked easily, is very self-critical, he doesn’t enjoy interacting with fans (specifically during and after standup), and it’s not uncommon for him to lose his groove half-way through his shows if something throws him off; he is also self-admittedly seriously mentally ill. the protection of being in character seems to have come in handy for him in a serious way for a long time, and i don’t think he’s come to understand how he’s meant to behave and interact when he’s being Real James like he is in cold lasagne. i don’t claim to know him, but considering the last time i saw him (spring) he did a whole bit about how suicidal he was just a couple months prior, it seems fair to say he’s still in throes of taking care of himself, so i’m sending him positive and healthy vibes and hoping he’s putting that before his career

GoT Season 8 Episode 1: The Pointy End Recap

Gods I am back on my bullshit but I can't help it 'cause I had too many thoughts about yesterday's episodes.

Disclaimer: So if you know me or my blog you know I don't root for D Targy (I write it like this cuz i don't want this post to pop up in her tag) and that she sometimes annoys the crap out of me, also i don't root for her bland ass romance or anything magical lizard related. I support House Stark 100% so ofc I believe in Pol!Jon (and more over I am a Jonsa shipper so ofc Imma write about that) and if you don't agree or don't feel confortable with any of those things this Recap is not for you (if you come here to troll I'll just ignore you anyway so don't waste your time and energy like that)

With that said let's begin!

-The episode starts with a young boy running to meet the Queen's entourage, we already see a lot of peasants and common folk gathered there, Arya sees the boy and smiles fondly (she is totally reminiscing when she did the same when King Bobby B visited WF) This shots made me feel very nostalgic as they parallel very closely S1.

Another parallel that it's included here is Jon and D arriving all regal couple like, I was just remembering about Bobby B and Cersei, and things are already on a visual side not working for them (d looks totally out of place with that flashy awkward coat, I mean the color, the cut, the red details, all of it makes her stand out like a sore thumb. On a visual level alone she does not belong there). The music is also worth noting, it starts off on a very ominious tone and then gets some heroic B bright undertones as Dr and Jon ride closer to he camera, but again falls into an ominious conqueror-villian entrance song.

The perspective shifts to Arya watching Jon and D riding (she doesn't seem happy to see D she kind of looks confused) but smiles when she sees Jon, we also see The Hound (Arya looks really confused, cuz she probably thought he was dead) and Gendry (she gives the cutest smiles ever,and yassssss Gendyra lives!!) riding behind them.

We get Varys and Tyrion riding in a carriage of sorts, and an unnecesary enuch joke *sigh* even Varys calls out Tyrion for it, and he is like idgaf cuz i got ballzzzz!! (Classy dude)

The common folk is not diggin this dragon kween business and obviously don't cheer or grovel at d's feet, she is very upset at this and Jon is like "I told you so", then the dragons approach and the people are terrified, they scream and run, worst of all D smiles and seems so smug (fuuuck her a thousand times, this proves she doesn't give a fuck about poor people unless they adore her, and that fear is just as well for her as respect, cuz this bitch is just like Cersei but dumber) and we don't really get to see Jon's reaction but come the fuck on!! This people Jon knows, some of them he has seen since he was a little boy, these are the people he is trying hard to protect and you think he is not gonna care for them just cuz d is pwetty?? Nah dude, he knows she cares about being worshipped (I meaaaan her long ass list of titles) but he thinks she is mostly harmless (may i remind you he still doesn't know about the TARLYS)

The camera follows the dragons and we see Sansa looking at them with worry (my poor girl, that's the adecuate reaction when you see monsters terrifying your people)

K, now we are seeing Jon in the courtyard, he sees Bran and immediately runs to him (you can clearly see Jorah helping D dismount in the background and that's hillarious cuz 2 seconds in WF and he is already leaving her ass behind in favor of his family), we even get a forhead kiss and Jon is pretty emotional at seeing his baby brother all grown up (tbh i find Bran's deadpan deliveries so funny, Jon looks confused af) he sees SANSA and biiiitch (I wanted to screenshot his face but I just gave up cuz it's very quick) the softness of his stare, the parted mouth, the way he just dives into her arms (Sansa stares at D while they hug like bih fuck off he is ours) . I want to address something real quick, yeah it was a shorter hug than we expected, but not less emotional ( Sansa was smiling and the look on Jon's face when he saw her) still it was 10000x times better than any Aegony scene because the affection is mutual Jon goes straight for a hug and Sansa opens her arms as opposed as Aegony scenes that rely heavily on D. Also I think this hug was shorter (and we see Jon pulling apart first) cuz d is watching, not only that but a lot of people are and i do think this season until the parentage reveal is out in the open they will be trying to keep their distances cuz they have feelings siblings are not supposed to have.

Jon asks for Arya, and Sansa says she is lurking somewhere with a smile (this reminded me of Cat asking about Arya on ep 1) and D approaches with the most forced smile ever, Jon introduces Sansa with her proper title first and then is like she is the kween D Targy forsaking all her thousand titles thank god. Also the first thing Jon says is that Sansa is his sister which I'll talk about later. So D tries (and fails) to be charming, saying how beautiful WF and the North (she says it's as beautiful as Jon said) and compares Sansa's beauty to it which had me wondering stuff.

A) so we never get Jon and D talking about Jon's siblings (another aegony is doomed moment) but he does mention briefly Arya and Bran cuz he thought they were dead, but Sansa??? Unless a thrid party brought her up he never talked about her which leads me to think D had no idea about Sansa being Jon's sister and that is why he breaks the hug and introduces he as his sister frist of all.

B) By talking about Sansa's beauty and how Jon talked about it, it implies they did talk about Sansa and that Jon said she was beautiful ??? Cuz that's the way D made it sound xdddd.

Ofc i think the A to be more like lyrics cuz Jon is playing his cards very close to his chest, but I thought it was funny.

Sansa brushes her of and delivers the WF is yours your Grace bs. Duuuude she is not even trying to be charming (she is corteous enough but barely) like she would have played the modest naive Maiden and said "not as beautiful as you, your grace" (bihhh d would have loved this shit) nor even a gracious thank you. And i wonder whyyy?? As far as she knows she is an ally, and yeah she doesn't trust her damn she doesn't even like her but that hasn't stopped her before like damn she was all charm when she met Roose and Ramsey for the 1st time and she hated them!!!! What I think is happening is that LF'S words are still in her mind about Jon marrying D, and Jon separated too quickly from their hug, and now he is standing beside this woman calling her queen, and yeah I see the jealousy maybe she doesn't know why fully maybe she is just starting to realize her feelings and is all projecting them onto the he betrayed the north's trust but I do feel it goes beyond that and it shows.

Bran interrupts before things get uglier with D and Sansa, with news about the wall, D looks shocked (bet she thought she was the only one who could control dragons) Jon looks like he is about to have a pánico attack.

They have a meeting with the northern Lords in the Great Hall (it is very curious that Jon is seated between d and Sansa, when befitting her new title D should be in the middle, D&D are driving this love triangle home) but from the get go we see that Sansa is the one running stuff and doing everything a queen should, she asks Ned Umbr about his people, he says they need more wagons and horses (I am sideeyeing D so hard at this moment) Sansa bids him to go to Last Hearth and bring as many ppl as he can.

Lyanna Mormont then proceeds to rip Jon a new one (but Lyanna like everyone else isn't really getting the full picture) and Jon looks at Sansa for support (like curious, as Lyanna is talking about D and she is his lady love and stuff you'd think he would look at her to gather strenght or resolution for what he is about to say but nope) but she is like 'dude you deserve it' and I would say she is right but like wasn't Sansa defending him to everyone that would listen last season ??? She literally said she respects Jon's desicions, nah this is her jealousy this is a go on prove me wrong, talk, give them (and me) and explanation of why u betrayed our trust for her. And Jon does look crushed when he sees he is not getting any support from her cuz if pol!Jon is right he did it! He listened to her, he was smarter than father and Robb, he brought an army home, and Sansa the one he did all this for still won't trust him that the North is his heart and home and he would do anything to keep it safe (like still pretty fucking unfair he wants sansa's blind faith without giving her anything in return but I get where he is coming from) and if pol!Jon is not real then they really destroyed Jon's character in favor of the blandest romance ever and I can't get behind that way of thinking because before I even shipped Jonsa I was a fan of both Jon Snow and Sansa Stark and I believe and support them both.

Honestly my boy doesn't even try to sell D, he is just like we need allies!! Tyrion just about gives up cuz he thinks Jon is a bumbling fool with no idea of how the game is played (lmaooo) and tries to sell D plus the idea that Cersei is sending them the Lannister army (I think is very important jon didn't mention this and I will go on about it later) Sansa is just about fed up with this bs, and asks a real important question about how da fuck is she supposed to feed this big ass army plus 3 dragons that she didn't account for and she doesn't have any obligation towards, like that's d's job, even worse d's haughty response (you can see Jon doesn't like this one bit) like honestly I had never felt more annoyed by d she is already a villian threatening Sansa in her own home for daring to care more about her people than about d's lizards, and i don't know how people are ok with that, like dude y'all are entitled to your own opinión and to loving your faves, but this shit was awfull.

We see carts of dragonglass in the courtyard, Gendry is giving instructions and Lord Royce is just leaving Sansa looking at all this activity when Tyrion approaches Sansa.

What is your thought on plance

I love platonic Plance so much I think it’s one of my fav bonds in the show (starring Klance, platonic Sheith and Punk, and ofc Shidge). I see them as ultimate besties and kinda bro/sis bond (because of Lance acting like Matt and Pidge whose attidude to him reminds me about me and my brother so much (i mean I love him and I can punch him slightly whenever I want but if someone else tries to offend him I’ll kick their ass in one second). I see a lot of potential of them rather helping each other in love life than being lovers themselves?

I get where the popularity of romantic Plance comes from and get the point of it. That’s popular trope when people like ships like: woah that guy hits only on stereotypical beautiful girls it would be cool if he suddenly understood he is in love with his best friend and see the girl in her. That’s like the main base of fanon Plance I figured out from metas and stuff. But.. idk talking about canon Plance it’s all just.. um, not very romantically coded? I mean yeah maybe Plance would look appropriately in the show (people are talking about it being canon in the end though?) if they managed to give them at least one single joined scene when they have to deal at least slightly with each other’s inner problems. Basically Plance has just one joined scene with them both alone (at Space mall) and idk for me it looked like the most platonic scene ever xD I’m just that excited if we go to the mall with my friend and see some store of stylish home decorations or smth, or going to the movies together on some Harry Potter so we just can’t keep our inner nerds inside. It was so familiar for me :D

Even if they’re going to make it canon, i don’t know if one season is really enough to show it in the way it would look nice and could be explained? For me at least, I want to remind that I respect all the shippers and say only my own thoughts. The reason is - in all, in 98% of art, animatics and other plance stuff I’ve ever seen everything is based on smth like: woah, shit I think he is cute, I’m falling for him because he is cute and funny; and woah she is so cute and my best friend, how have I never seen it before, I think I’m falling in love with her because she is cute and with cute smile. I swear most of what I’ve seen has this trope as a base and.. have I already say that this kind of otP is absolutely not my cup of tea and never will be?

I don’t like when characters are idk fall in love from the first sight or just fall in love because they suddenly understood he/she is cute at some point? I try to principally avoid this while choosing my otps because I’ve never been into it and never will be. I love when love grows from smth and when the main focus is on this - from mutual support, from help, from sincerity. When characters trust each other enough to tell their secrets to each other, when they have influence on each others arcs. I’ve already brought up my perfect formula of OtP - in which situation characters can be interesting as possible lovers for me.

Intimacy and mutual support. Yes they support each other no doubts, care for each other and ready to protect each other at all cost (just like all other palladins) but I’ve never seen Pidge helping Lance to understand he is needed and he is not the seventh wheel in the team. I’ve never seen Lance caring about Matt or how upset Pidge was while she tried to find him. About her becoming confident. They’ve never interacted on that level, never even tried to interact, always staying best friends and not stepping to the inner problems. They both interact mostly with mask of each other and not something that’s behind it.

Next, the possibility to grow to the better. Idk but they always seemed too similar to me, there’s very little things they can learn from each other. Yes Pidge can learn Lance science and stuff but I mean specifically the temperament and character. That’s why I rarely ship best friends kinda - i love when there’s enough similarities and differences so the relationship can be balanced. Maybe Plance has it but it was never enough for me (especially talking about canon only, without fanon).

And lemme say just one extremely subjective thing xD I  LOVE ANGST. It kinda sounds like coming out almost but YEAH I LOVE ANGST. And I can’t see it in Plance, not enough for me at least. The most angsty thing I heard about is Pidge crushing on Lance while he doesn’t see a girl in her and for me it’s just.. eh? I want to see something more than my biggest problems in 7th grade please? I know I’m cheating so much with Shidge because every single ship with Shiro is meant to have a damn bunch of angst but whatever xD I need my drama, where’s ma drama, where’s my intimacy and sharing of the deepest secrets??  Personal, just personal preferences guys sorry I was born like this.

So yeah that’s why I adore their bond so much but just in bro way because as I’ve already explained, their canon interactions bever stepped too far in each other’s arcs so it would be enough for me to ship them romantically. I still love fanon Plance very much, I love the Plance fandom and shippers who are very nice peeps, I lile how much love Plance shippers put in their ship and yet respect the others (I know many plancers who follow me and like my Shidge art and I love you guys so much

Anyways sending hugs to all the Plance shippers and hope no one will feel offended because of this answer, because c’mon guys it’s just me and my habbit to always look for some very deep sense in all things xD

Uhh here’s some of my hot takes (and now that I’m thinking about it I hope Kai stans don’t set me on fire)

Tldr: I disagree with some kai takes, misako should be a bad parent, s6 isn’t all that bad and s5 could’ve been better (I’ve already described some of these on the blog but oh well)

Kai? Not at all a good brother figure at least in the beginning. His arc in the pilots is his loner wolf nature, and that’s kinda it in his green ninja wanna be arc and also in s4. It’s only in s5 where he starts actively changing and it’s because he realises he relates to Lloyd after he lost his dad. Imo he didn’t parent Nya because they were like 3 years apart and honestly Nya is ten times more self sufficient than he’s ever been no matter which point of his character development he’s at. Ofc he’s not awful and he gets better but yeah.

Same point but Kai is completely not an overprotective brother. At all. We can ignore wu’s teas, but Kai definitely gives Nya her space, to the point of neglecting/leaving her out in the beginning. However this is a nice thing, because he then learns to trust Nya to be a samurai and he’s not overly protective either. And I just don’t like that trope or it being romanticised so…

Kai point no. 3. His post Seabound time skip arc wasn’t what people expected but it was really nice in my opinion. Kai actually coping well and doing things with his life is nice since it feels like he’s attempted to move on and not waste away which feels like what Nya would’ve wanted. Yeah it would’ve been nice if he got more focus but I kinda understand that they moved on quickly since they needed to get on with the plot. And I personally can’t with the idea that Kai should’ve been angrier. Maybe people just really wanted kai angst but I like the idea that Kai decided to try his best after her death and genuinely didn’t want to end up taking it out on others

OH IM SO UPSET TUMBLR DELETED A WHOLE HOUR OF WRITINF ANDAHHH

essentially I just complained about how I don’t like Misako despite a lot of my mutuals being fans. 1) her treatment of lloyd 2) she’s just used as a plot device with no personality. Not gonna go into it because I’m crying about tumblr bullying me. Something something about how there’s only one type of female character in Ninjago which is “the women are so much smarter and cooler than the guys” and al I want is rat bastard Misako who is an awful parent but then she character develops and actually tries because I think it’s more interesting if she has a strained but healing relationship with Lloyd.

Also something something feminisms but I actually like some of skybound’s feminist take, because something something Nya trying not to be vulnerable because she’s worked so hard to prove she’s not weak just because she’s a woman. And it’s really hard when half of the world expects you to be weak because youre woman and the other half expects you to work real hard to disprove the first half and it’s really hard to show that you’re vulnerable because your human and not because you’re woman yknow. And it hit hard. And I have a whole Nya analysis that I’ll post sometime which goes into her because she’s so interesting and this is related.

Hahajakenisjsb. Unpopular opinion s5 is overhyped really. It’s good but undercooked. It has really good concepts which aren’t seen through. Kai and Lloyd’s thing doesn’t get too much focus and it doesn’t progress Kai’s character, he doesn’t have much of an arc. It’s cool Nya gets powers but the finale was really anticlimactic because all she did was try really hard and it’s like, she’s been trying all season but all it took was closing her eyes for 5 seconds and I wish we got more, like delving into why she has no esteem or something yknow. And Morro is a good villain in concept especially since he’s supposed to be a good guy turned bad but I feel like the appeal of those villains are very much based in his relations with the heroes and also his conflict of emotions and we don’t get too much of that. He’s too busy trying to do his job as champion of the preeminent to personally interact with wu other than the start and end, Lloyd isn’t conscious to interact with Morro, and Morro doesn’t interact with the ninja or Nya much either. And we don’t really see Morro be conflicted about what he’s doing until he decides to randomly give wu the crystal at the end. And he’s not even that personally motivated to destroy the world, again he’s just working for the preeminent. I wish Morro went on a character arc but he doesn’t. Lloyd gets random daddy issues thrown in at the end and the finale focuses on Lloyd when he’s had no build up to it because he’s not present in the whole season. Like it would be better if while possessed, the host of the body was sent to some weird mindscape so we can still see Lloyd be a character and have potential to justify the ending more than one line of dialogue in the beginning. And jay and Zane do absolutely nothing but comedy relief. Cole’s arcs good but it’s definitely a little random especially considering the rest of the team did not get that much development. Like jay and Zane don’t even get their own unique fears in the haunted house ep. The darkest fear trope is such a good trope and s5 kinda squandered it imo just because we got very minimal character development and yknow what later I’m gonna just rewrite the whole episode. And the fetch quest was kinda random and confusing and felt really unrelated. Like can someone remind me why the ninja who can fly jets and literally live on a flying boat needed to specifically learn how to fly. Ik they needed to use ninja magic to go to heaven but also that’s really random. And like the destiny writer guys??? That’s so random? Like they don’t need to exist and they aren’t bad it’s just such a tonal shift to go from Halloween vibes to destiny physically being a man who locked you in a cupboard. It’s even more random than that time the ninja went to space. Like they are just an existential crisis that the ninja will ignore because cartoon.The fetch quest is just so arbitrary imo. Like I enjoy watching this season but its in the “I hate/love you because you had so much wasted potential” category for me.

It feels like a eternity that they are staring at each other .The door flys open and Ofc Murray walks in.

Jude turns to see who’s standing behind him.

Brandon tries to leave.

“ hey don’t go pleases” Jude reaches out and grab Brandon’s arm.

“ it’s ok I’m not going to hurt you.”jude says. Jude throws up his hands

“ I’m sorry” Brandon say as he tries to leave again.

Murray step in the way.

“ hey slow down he just wants to talk to his brother if you want I can go get some cake and you two can eat together. Do you like cake? Just the two of you . Ok”

Brandon nods.

Murray gently walks him back and sits him on bench.

She smiles at him.

She grabs some paper towels from the bathroom and hands one to each brother.

She kneels down to talk to Brandon .

“ I’m going to be right back Ok don’t go any where.”murray say with a sweet smile.

Brandon seems to calm down a little and gives her a small smile back. Jude it’s sure if he thought she is cute or if he found her comforting fore some reason.

She looks to jude and he nods. Murray walks out.

“ funny how we both got out of the crowds in the same locker room”

“ it’s nice in here it quiet. There is too many people walking around.” Brandon says

“ yeah you can thinks in here and no one but your brother will find you.”jude smiles

Jude thinks its like talking to a mirror almost. Its so strange to see him sitting here.

“ I over heard her on the phone.I think she was talking to her mother”

“ oh. “ for some reason so many questions came to Jude that he wanted to ask his brother. Like are you gay? Are you a lefty or a righty.”Are you color blind too?”jude ask. Jude picked the oddest question he could think of.

Brandon nods yes.

“ ok .”

“ it’s ok.” Noah doesn’t like it anyway . Jude thinks to himself.

“ no no I can’t do that “ Brandon says as he gets up and runs out of the locker room and runs straight into a group of plays that includes Derek.

“ hey boss man where are you going. Where’s the fire” Derek shouts as “Jude” runs pass.

Murray walks past the players with the cake.

“ hey if you are looking for jude he went that a way in a rush”

“Ah thanks”murray say walking into the locker room with three pieces of cake.

Derek thought about following her but he thought better of it. He decided to walk farther down and wait to see what happens.

In the lockeroom

Jude is sitting dumbfounded on the bench.

“Jude what happened?”

“ I asked him to have dinner with the family and he ran”

“ Jude he was going to leave at a simple conversation. What made you ask him out to dinner! With all due respect sir.”murray say

“ I do this with everything. I jump the gun. I’m married to a man the I have know for less then a year”jude says

“ well you know when you know but your brother is skidding as hell. You can’t throw things at him like that”

Murray checks her watch.

“ you have to go your late for your interview “ .

Murray heads to the door and Jude follows .

There are two sets of camera crews waiting for jude at center court.

Jude walks over with a smile to greet the reporters. Murray stands to the side to watch.

Noah walks over .

“ is jude ok people keep telling me he was upset and ran off.”

“ that wasn’t Jude . It was Brandon.”

“What? he was here?”

" yes . First I stopped him from leaving .Then I left to give them some privacy then Jude freaked him out and then ran for the hills.”

“ did he say what happened?”

“ he invited him to dinner”

“ I really hope that he calms down or he is going to never get to know him.”

Noah just shakes his head.noah and Murray stand back and watch Jude.

After the two interviews are done noah steps up and walks over.Noah waves over his camera man who has a basketball in one hand and a camera in the other.

“ I think I’m going to do something a little different with you .”

“ family day is about fun right?

“You do know how to play horse right?” Noah says

“ Jude you had no friends how are you suppose to know how to play horse. Who where you suppose to play with? “noah say in a overly peppy tone that made jude smile a little harder then shake his head.

10 minutes later.

Jude and Noah are now standing at the south end of court.

“ I’m here with devil’s owner Jude M Kinkade at family day.”noah says with a Inferences on the on the M.Noah has been dying to introduce Jude ever since they have decided to hyped their name a week ago.

“Family day is all about fun and spending time with the ones you love while you get the 411 on what’s going on in devilnation.”Noah says

Jude smiles at noah and then at the camera.

“ so it’s our turn to have a little fun together . We have both been work all day. So i’m going to do something a little different . How about a game of horse

“Sure but I think you just want to show off your baller skills.”

“ maybe.” Noah say as he spins the ball on his finger.

“ show off”jude says as he discard his jacket by giving it to Murray.

“ alright if i win you take the trash out for a week” noah says.

“And if I win you have to do dishes for a week”

During the whole game Noah holds back and let’s jude win. Some of the shots noah didn’t make were ridiculously.jude started to think noah was faking how bad he’s playing when Noah is being overly dramatic at every bad shot he takes.

“ there you have it I’m doing dishes for a week. Did you have fun?”

“ definitely”

“ We hope everyone had as much fun as we did at family day and we look forward to seeing all of you this season as our devil are on the hunt for there next championship! Go devils!” Noah gives the signal to cut the cameras.

“ you let me win”Jude says

Johnson and Ritter walk over. They are so close that they are almost touching. One missteps and they are holding hands or brushing shoulder if they were the same height.

“ he sure did” Johnson says.

Johnson is a little taller then noah and Jude. He is darker then noah with a buzz cut. If you didn’t know any better you think he was a marine.Then there’s Ritter is everything Johnson isn’t. He’s a natural blonde with blues with a fu manchu mustache that looks silly. Jude thinks just like his personality. From the pieces that Jude have put together Ritter is silly to the core and Johnson is as serious as Ritter is silly. Which works they balance each other out.Ritter is shorter then jude by about half a inch. Ritter may physical reminds Jude of Zero ,that’s where the similarities end. Ritter comes across as friendly and sweet to both Jude and Noah.

“ why?”jude ask.

“ I’m rusty “noah say

“ you have to keep the keeper of the happy place happy!Ritter says with a smile.

Johnson give Ritter the side eye.

“ you know it’s true noah .” Ritter say

“ it’s his birthday and like I said I’m rusty” noah says

“ please don’t drag him to the bench with you at this rate the only thing your riding is the bench”Johnson says to Ritter.

Noah couldn’t help but to chuckle.

“ I said I was sorry .ill take you to dinner to make up for it.” Ritter say

Johnson ignores him.

“ can I suggest a rematch between the two of you?”Johnson say

“ I think that’s a great idea” jude says

“ Jude we don’t have to do that” noah say

Johnson walks over leaving Ritter to standing by Noah.

“ why not?”Johnson asked with crossed arm just like jude.

Murray walks over.

“ excuse me jude your dad is waiting for you.”

“ your right. I have to go. Noah this conversation isn’t over.” Jude say as he quickly walks off the court. “ man I shouldn’t have let him watch shameless”Ritter mumbles

“ you know I’m standing right here.”Johnson says

Jude noticed that noah isn’t following him.jude stops and turns

“ hey aren’t you coming?” Jude says.

“ play nicely boys”noah say as he tries to catch up

“ I wish.i’m not going to be playing anything but on this court” Ritter says

“ why on earth do I deal with you?”Johnson says as they both walk slowly behind noah.

“ because you know I love you for a long time.”Ritter says.

Noah turns again.

Noah finally catches up to jude and Murray.

Jude noah and Murray walk on to the dock. Where they see all of the family gathered around and Oscar’s limo.There are two car covered with sheets and to unknown people standing by them .

“ by the way I told your dad we might be expanding our family.”noah says in a hushed tone.

“I told him he couldn’t say anything because we haven’t made our minds up on a baby or a puppy.”

The two cars are reveal one is a 2020 jaguar f-pace prestige p250 in black and the other is a 2020 Porsche Cayenne s in black.

Oscar Chester and marshal are all watching noah and justice trying out the back seat. Noah then moves to the truck.

Chester walks over to noah who is now laying across the back seat in the jaguar.

“ seeing which one has the most space in the back seat.” Noah say.

Noah is seeing which back seat is the biggest because he need to be about to get a car seat in the back and he wants to know which one his and Jude could have sex in too

“ you want to have sex in the thing don’t you.”Chester say

Chester smiles and just shakes his head. That’s my boy Chester thinks to himself.

Chester walks back to his husband who is standing quitely next to oscar.

Oscar listens to the exchange between his friends and parenting mentor.He thought to himself what is typical Jude behavior ?

Jude is standing in front of bother cars and sizing them up then walks to the back of the Jaguars to find noah studying the back.

“ I’m liking the Porsche because I know you love Porsche. It’s pretty safe and I’m pretty sure there is enough space in the back for our needs if you know what I mean.”

“ good so there space for your gaming gear and baby stuff?”

“ and us being able to have some fun. Adult fun”

Jude turns and looks to noah with raised eye brows.

Jude shakes his head in disbelief.

“ so have you made a decision jude.”oscar ask

“ I’ll take the Porsche “ jude says with a smile.

“Very good .” Oscar walks away and talks to the salespeople that came with both cars.

Jude and Noah smile at each other and walk to the other car.

“ so how is your day going so far.”

“ really good beside my mom’s attitude. “

“ I’m sorry I was hoping that it would be water over the bridge.”

“ yeah I don’t see that happening “jude says

“ maybe when we have our little one things will change.” Noah say quietly as they walk around to Justice who is playing with the radio.

“ that’s my song” justice says as she bounces in the front seat.

Good as hell by Lizzo is playing.

Jude laughs as his little sister sings along with the radio.

Noah looks up and sees Lionel waving him over.

“ hey I’ll be right back.” Noah say

“ I’ll see you later . I’m going to do one more walk around before everything ends for the day.” Jude says.

oh my god so before I start I have to admit that I was at the arcade when this aired and I couldn’t stand Not Knowing so I went in the aistars tag and spoiled myself and. now I’m ready to die

I love how the manager class always seems really close and friendly. they should have been the main characters instead

ohhh noooo it’s so depressing hearing Lily say that she wants to sing with Yuzu.... they used an entire episode to show us how she gains her dream of being S4 together with Yuzu only to do... this..... why

and... the next S4. obviously I was 10000% certain that it was going to be Lily so even now this is a huge surprise...... and while it made the most sense for her to be S4 and I’m still unspeakably bitter, if it’s not her then it makes the second most sense for Yume to win. she makes her own brand and gets a PR and a Berry Parfait-themed stage in the next season, while Rola doesn’t even get a new coord. HnT’s summary is also all about Elsa trying to recruit Yume, and if it’s because she’s drawing attention as the new S4, that would explain it.

but more than anything I am just going to be really, REALLY angry if Rola wins. so she can’t. it can’t happen.
