Lupin III Chapter 79 Review
ITS THE POON EPISODE!! FROM PART 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!! also the english title of this chapter is "Love Doctor" and i cant stop hearing the love doctor song from root five in my head help
So a woman is being held hostage by a group of 2 men, and Lupin and his gang are trying to make their way into the house that they hid in.
Jigen tries to rush towards the house, but he is met with a bombardment of bullets, explaining why Lupin seemingly hasn't made any moves yet..
The woman that's been captured was a spy that was gathering intel about lupin's organization, but when she was captured by the men, she caught a life threatening illness that needs immediate treatment....
Thus, lupin decides to tell them the situation about her through a radio attached to a bamboo he launches towards the house
The boss, which I'll just call Poon for convenience, doesn't trust Lupin and doesn't release the woman to be treated. But why would Lupin care about this woman that seemingly betrayed him...? Well, it's because he fell in love with her, and he doesnt want to let her go dying like that...
Poon throws the radio towards the dying woman, then Lupin and her proceed to make some cheesy love exchange that Poon finds disgusting
W: You were a fool... to fall in love with me... Lupin...!! L: I was a fool to let you go.
tbh, i'd be a bit annoyed too if my spy suddenly got sick and its being prolonged for hours because the guy wouldn't shut up about loving her then, goemon approaches lupin carrying a doctor's bag, and informs him that no doctor is available and they need to perform the surgery for her
Lupin then relays to Poon that he needs to perform the surgery for her to live, and if Poon tries to move her, then she'll die. Poon however, REALLY doesn't trust Lupin and doesn't allow him to come any nearer to the house, so Lupin, with no choice, decides that he'll let Poon do the surgery for him.
Lupin fires all the supplies inside the bamboo towards them, one by one, until he finds a chance to fire the bamboo in a way that would kill the man that was holding them back from approaching the house in the first place
Lupin then sneaks in the house immediately and picks up the girl to leave. When Poon tries to shoot him, the woman shoots him back, revealing that she has chosen to be with Lupin in the end.
P: Ah, you fell in love... with him too..!!
The end.
#great chapter#ok but theres one thing im confused about#poon calls lupin gomez for the entire chapter and i was wondering if thats an english only thing#and if it isn't then why does he call lupin by that name?#lupin iii#lupin the third#jigen daisuke#lupin iii manga#goemon ishikawa xiii#monkey punch#local lupin manga fan screams about the manga as per usual

How about a fic where Remus falls for reader who is Sirius’ sister? If Sirius freaks out with Regulus and James, just imagine how protective he would be with a sister! Specially if she is sweet and kind (totally opposite of him and Regulus)
will I ever make a sibling fic that isn't chaotic? no, likely not. also, I didn't exactly make her the opposite of Sirius and Regulus but it could be argued that she's better than them anyways. ALSO, I've always refrained from reader-inserts with Black!sister reader simply because I see her as Reggie's twin who looks the way he does, and also can't get beyond the fact that she would have a celestial name SO, in any Black!sister fics going forward, please note that her middle name will have been Soleil which is French for sun, and the boys call her Sunny as a nickname <3
Remus Lupin x Black!sister reader who he has fallen head over heels for [1.5k words]
CW: siblings, threats of murder
Most boys at some point in their lives will be asked the following question:
Are you a mummy’s boy, or a daddy’s boy?
If a boy wasn’t asked such a question, it was likely because the answer was painfully obvious.
“Little Lucius Malfoy is such a daddy’s boy.”
“That James Potter, such a mama’s boy”.
“Oh, sweet Peter Pettigrew, he has always been a mummy’s boy.”
Since the answer was so painfully obvious, neither Sirius Orion Black or Regulus Arcturus Black had ever been asked this question. For them, the answer was simple:
They were their sister’s boy’s.
It was this fact that made Remus Lupin’s current predicament so bloody difficult.
“Where is she!?” Regulus barked as he stormed over to the Gryffindor table where Sirius was sitting beside James across from Remus and Peter.
“Goodmorning, Reggie.” Sirius offered instead of answering his brother.
“For Sala- hi, Sirius. Where is she?”
“Where is who?”
“Your sister.” Regulus spat, causing Sirius’ brows to furrow as he chanced a look over his shoulder at his brother.
“How is she my sister? She’s your twin.”
“Nevermind that, do you know where she is?” Regulus muttered.
Sirius sighed and stood from his seat to scan the Great Hall.
“Nope.” He offered with a pop of the p before returning to his breakfast.
“I’m going to avada that meddling witch!” Regulus hissed as he stormed off; Remus, James, and Peter all watching after him as Sirius continued happily with his toast.
“Are….you not worried about her?” Peter asked cautiously then.
“Not really.” Sirius responded quickly.
James let out a breath at that and shook his head in disbelief. “Siblings are weird, mate.”
“Thanks, Siri.” You chimed as your head popped up between James and Sirius; the former shrieking not unlike a displeased mandrake plant as he clutched at his chest.
Neither you nor Sirius paid him any mind as Sirius nudged his plate closer to you so you could pick from it.
“What’d you do now?” Sirius asked.
“I simply told one of Reg’s admirers that he was already seeing someone; I hardly see what all the fuss is about.” You offered simply, causing Sirius to look at you in bemusement and mutter “Reg is seeing someone?” at the same time James looked at you in horror and hissed “Reg has an admirer!?”
You simply smirked and looked at Remus who was sitting across from you and shot him a wink.
He hoped to all get out that no one noticed the heat radiating in his cheeks as he smiled nervously down at his plate, though he was relatively certain he could feel a set of spectacled eyes burning a hole into the side of his head.
“Wait, why do you look like that?” Sirius asked then, causing the table to look at him to see he was surveying your form.
“Like what?” You asked him slowly, looking down at your uniform as if to see what Sirius could possibly be talking about.
“You look…like…nice.” Sirius muttered as if that was a particularly bad thing.
“I always look nice.” You argued then.
“That’s not true, you usually just look fine.”
“You’re such a git.” You spat, taking the piece of toast he had in his hand and taking a bite of it.
“Doesn’t she just usually only look fine?” Sirius asked then, and Remus was horrified to see he was looking at him.
“Me?”
Sirius nodded impatiently as if saying “yeah? What about it?”
“Why are you asking me?” Remus asked somewhat shrilly.
“You’re objective.”
“And Peter and James aren’t?”
Sirius huffed as he kicked Remus in the shin under the table. “Would you just answer the sodding question?”
“I…well,” and Remus looked at you - you, who always looked nothing short of lovely and radiant and dauntingly perfect in every way, and today had been no exception. But he couldn’t very well say that. “She…she looks fine, yeah.”
Sirius’ brows furrowed further as he turned back to look at you, and Remus tried to pretend he didn’t notice a brief look a hurt cross your features. “You do, though. Look lovely today, that is.” He added awkwardly, simply receiving a half-smile in response.
“Sunny!” Regulus barked then; apparently having found his way back to the Great Hall in his search for you.
“Oh, Merlin and Morgana.” You grumbled as your head fell back in exasperation.
“What did you tell him?”
“Who?” Sirius and James parroted.
“Sunny.” Regulus repeated, his gaze never moving from you as he sidled up behind you. “What did you tell him?”
“Oh, stop with the theatrics, Regulus; you’re embarrassing yourself.” You drawled, sounding like a true upper-classman as you refused to look at your twin.
“What did you tell Fenwick?” He gritted out slowly in a way Remus was sure would make a lesser man cower, but you simply rolled your eyes at him.
“I simply told him that he was grasping at billywigs because you were already seeing someone.”
Regulus held your gaze as you raised your eyebrow at him. “That’s it?”
“That’s it.” You hissed, completely unimpressed.
“Who in the hells are you seeing?” Sirius asked then, causing the two of you to look over at him.
“Nevermind, Siri.” You responded in a bored tone around another bite of his toast.
“I will too mind, thank you very much! Who is my baby brother seeing!?”
“Oh relax, Sirius, there’s no need to call the DMLE; it’s not like Sunny’s seeing anyone.” He chuckled, causing Sirius to snort in laughter.
“That’s true.”
You made a disbelieving sound as you looked between your two brothers. “What in Merlin’s name is that supposed to mean?!”
“That means, my dear baby sister,” Sirius responded curtly as he yanked his toast back from you, “that you must never date, otherwise your big brother will end up in Azkaban.”
“Oh give us a little credit, Sirius; we’d get away with it.” Regulus countered.
“Why!?” You beseeched.
“No one is good enough for you, obviously.” Sirius responded simply, as if you were quite ridiculous for even needing to ask.
“And anyone who thinks otherwise will end up dead.” Regulus continued earnestly, causing James to bark a laugh.
“Don’t worry Moons, Pete and I will make sure your funeral is nice.” He said as he brought another spoon of cereal to his mouth.
Remus felt all blood drain from his face as everyone turned to look at him.
Regulus stared at him in a confused sort of horror, Peter looked at him with a sympathetically worried expression, Sirius didn’t look exactly horrified or disgusted as Remus had thought he would, but he definitely looked disturbed to some level, and you were looking at him with what he thought (and certainly hoped) was hopeful surprise.
James looked up at the silence to see everyone staring at Remus, whilst Remus just stared at him in betrayal.
“James!?” Remus whisper shouted; his voice having apparently run off along with his bollocks.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Regulus finally asked then, staring daggers at Remus as Sirius raised his hand slightly as if warning Regulus off of his best friend, though never removing his own scrutinising gaze from Remus.
“James, what’d you mean by that?” Sirius asked James - eyes still glued to Remus.
“I, well, erm. I’m actually, not entirely sure? I just…well…”
“Do you fancy her, Moony?” Sirius whispered as if it was some horrid joke and so completely unfathomable that Remus could possibly find you as enchanting as he admittedly did.
No, he wanted to say, of course not, Pads. That’s your baby sister, I’d never fall so head-over-heels for the sister of my best friend, that’s absurd.
But that wouldn’t be true.
And he’d already been outed.
His gaze moved to you and offered what he hoped was an apologetic smile before opening his mouth to respond.
“Regulus is shagging James!” You blurted then, causing James to flinch so violently that his knees hit the bottom of the table top, and Regulus deflated severely from where he’d been staring down Remus like some well-trained guard-dragon.
“Are you fucking kidding me!?” Sirius shrieked then, turning to point his glare at someone other than Remus, finally.
Remus had been so caught up in the verbal volleying taking place between Sirius, Regulus, and James that he hadn’t noticed you had disappeared from your spot beside Sirius until you popped back up beside him and were encouraging him up by the sleeve of his uniform jumper.
And you looked so sweet and so lovely and so hopeful and so mischievous and Remus really was helpless in the pull you had on him, which saw him rushing out of the Great Hall with your hand in his as you dragged him away from your brothers and laughing all the while.
So yeah, this made Remus Lupin’s current predicament incredibly bloody difficult.
Because if Sirius and Regulus were sister’s boys, you were your brothers’ girl.
And that made Remus Lupin a dead man walking.

A gasp echoes through the empty corridor.
Not yours…
Regulus's.
"He is my father?"
The words escape him with such hatred
"Dove i-"
Remus's eyes widened at the endearment.
"Professor Lupin is my father? Why didn't you ever tell me!?"
You can hear the anger in his voice. It makes you question yourself again.
Why does everyone think it’s your fault?
Regulus glances between you and Remus. You’re certain you see tears prick in the corners of his eyes. His face is red, much like his fathers.
While you collect your thoughts, he takes a deep breath. Closing his eyes abruptly, he repeats.
“Why didn’t you-”
His voice seems to choke up towards the end.
"I didn't deem it necessary Reg-"
Attempting to keep a level head you tried to explain yourself before your son cut you off.
"YOU SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME!"
Now he’s done it.
"Regulus! You will not raise your voice at your mother!"
Your eyes go wide, you say the words with a booming voice.
The whole house seems to quake. You couldn't help the parts of your mother, walburga, that seeped into you. You were her daughter after all.
Regulus let out a sound close to a scoff and seemed to seethe with fury as he made his way up the stairs, his door made a creaking sound as if pushed by enormous force, pausing before lightly closing with click, as though he had stopped it before the slam came.
Realising that Remus was still in the room, you sighed before lifting your gaze up to meet his.
You open your mouth a couple times but no words seem to come out. You drop your gaze again.
Luckily for you, your name tumbles out of Remus's mouth before he asks a question.
“He…he doesn’t know?”
His voice was filled with hesitation. You could see his hand lift up towards you in your peripherals. He hesitated. Of course he did.
“I didn’t tell him. I couldn’t.”
Ironic huh? Your husband returns after fourteen years and all you’ve done today is try to explain yourself.
It’s all too overwhelming. You need to get away.
Before Remus could respond to you, your feet seemed to lead you back to the stairs.
You turn around once you hear your name again. He calls you that a lot…
“I could…talk to him, you know?”
His eyebrows are raised in what you can guess as hope, and his voice sounds scratchy.
Contemplating for a moment, you respond.
“Do what you please Lupin, I don’t care.”
A shake of your accompanies the words.
You tried to make yourself seem stern. But you aren’t.
And he knows that. He knows you better than you know yourself.
You feel a tug on your arm. Looking down at him from the stairs, a wave of nostalgia hits you. His hand feels warm on your arm. You can hear the wind blowing outside.
It feels…the same.
You walk in the great hall and make your way towards your friends. not before sparing a glance and smile towards the marauders, mainly remus.
Remus's mouth quirks up at the corner as he gives you a lopsided grin, his crooked teeth showing through.
This doesn't go unnoticed by Sirius, his brows furrow and he lets out a noise somewhat similar to a scoff
"My sister moony? really?" he drawls, turning his eyes to his plate, attention still on Remus, who startles and looks back to deny his proclamations.
"what? I just gave her a smile." His confusion makes the other two marauders burst out in laughter. Their boisterous laugh echoes through the great hall, drawing your attention.
With a glance shared with Remus, you let them be.
"I see how you look at her, it's obvious mate" Sirius grabs his attention again and begins to prepare to leave for his class.
"I don't know what you're talking about"
"you very well do" A bored expression adorns Sirius's face.
Remus furrows his brows before your retreating figure catches his attention.
Noticing his distraction, Sirius rolls his eyes and turns around to leave.
“Talk to her.” He mutters to Remus before he’s gone.
Much to Peter and James’s surprise Remus does indeed listen.
He follows you out of the Great hall, looks right and left before spotting you towards the stairs.
Taking long strides he makes his way over to you.
You hear your name once. It’s Remus.
His eyebrows are raised in what you can guess as hope.
You feel a tug on your arm. Your eyes meet his, that look right behind you at something.
Before you can form a word, he pulls you hard towards his chest.
A group of third years pass by, hitting your shoulder as they pass by, no doubt in a hurry to reach their first class.
Your face is hidden in Remus's chest long after you can no longer hear them.
As he opens his mouth to say something, a smile breaks out on your face, easing his nerves.
That was the best laugh you two had had all week.
Remus wordlessly pulls you into his chest.
Your arms automatically go to wrap around his middle. No matter how much you hate him right now, you can’t deny the comfort his warmth brings you.
You’ll worry later. That night you cry in his chest, for the first time in fourteen years.
Three knocks on Regulus’s door pulled him out of his trance, as he was busy Staring at the ceiling.
He glanced over at the door in anticipation.
“Can I come in?” Remus's voice echoes through the mostly empty room.
Most of regulus's belongings seemed to have not made their way into this house. Remus understands why.
With hesitation, Regulus nods His head once and Remus lets himself in.
“Can we talk…?” Remus was unsure, that much was evident.
Regulus nodded once more and moved his gaze across the room. Avoiding his fathers eyes Like the plague.
Remus cleared his throat before sitting down on the bed.
His throat bobbed up and down, As did the mattress. It made a squeaking noise, Filling in the silence that enveloped the room.
“We need to talk…” Uncertainty lingered in his voice.
With silence as Regulus’s only response, He continued.
“I-”
a sigh followed his pause
“I- uh- when you were little…welp- Not born yet. Heck I had no clue you were going to be born. I-”
Remus's throat felt dry, he was stammering, his words were jumbled. He had no idea what to say.
He only just got to know the kid.
So he started with the obvious.
“I…am your father-”
That earned him a snort of laughter from Regulus.
“Yeah, no shit.”
At Least He was making progress…?
“But I made a mistake, I left your mother when we were both at our worst, I can never forgive myself for that. And I don't expect her to either.”
Remus paused again. His Brows furrowed and eyes squinted as if he was choosing His next words carefully.
Regulus's feet tapped on the floor, impatience, Remus recognised that trait, must've gotten it from his mother.
Taking this as a sign to go on, he continued.
"I love her, kid....she's my everything "....
"Then why'd you leave her?"
Regulus spoke very little, but when he did, it was hard to miss.
"I didn't know she had you, my boy...if i'd known i wouldn't leave-"
"no.”
Remus's words halted, his brows furrowed in obvious confusion.
No?
“ I asked why you left her... not me. Merlin! You say you love her but left her alone. Didn't You?"
Oh
"i was scared and foolish a-and young-"
Remus tried to explain himself, to justify himself.
With each word he spoke, Regulus's blood seemed to boil.
"Do you have any idea how much pain you've caused her!? Mum wanted to kill herself, professor. She didn't want to live."
There was an urgency in Regulus's voice, like Remus would disappear again the moment he stopped talking.
You'd remember that night like it was yesterday. The stars were gleaming, the moon was full.
It made you want to give up. You were on the ledge when a small voice inside your head called out "stop, he needs you. regulus needs you" so you got down, and took a step back, your heart racing and thumping against your chest.
You remember, the bigger voice that screamed at you to let go "Godric! you coward. You coward. Do it. Just. Do. It." It said.
You backed off and fell to your knees, sobbing when the reality of it came crashing down.
You were twenty eight. Regulus was six. Only six.
And he was standing behind the balcony door, scared, nervous and relieved at the same time. He didn't want you gone, but he didn't want you to suffer.
He was just a boy. And he was hurt.
He was torn and you didn't know.
"I saw her, she wanted to give up. A part of me wanted her to give up, be free, I thought. Hell, I was just a kid. I didn't know anything"
Hot tears escaped Regulus's eyes, his hands going up to frantically wipe them away. When he failed, he just pressed his palms into them to try and stop the flood of oncoming tears.
Both shocked and ashamed by Regulus's words, Remus's first instinct was to cradle his son, comfort him, but Regulus Pushed his hands away and looked straight at him through red eyes.
"I hope you're better now...and I'll not hesitate to say this- she deserves better."
A few tears gathered on Remus's lash line, he blinked them away.
He had gotten good at that huh?
His mouth opened yet no words came out.
“You should go…”
Regulus said, at last, sensing Remus's speechlessness.
The bed creaked as he got up, taking slow and unsteady steps towards The door.
The doorknob felt cold in his hands, he thought.
"Hey, professor..."
Remus looked back.
"take care of mum...she's been through a lot"
With a nod, Remus exited the room. Leaving Regulus to go back to staring at his ceiling.
As he enters the hallway, his eyes fall onto a vase.
A vase with a singular flower in it, no doubt enchanted to stay fresh.
It looked familiar....too familiar.
Sitting on a picnic blanket, at a time you're certain is past your curfew, is less than ideal on a cold winter night.
But laying here with remus makes it all, so, very worth it.
Your attention from the stars is taken away for a moment as you feel a tug on your fingers.
Remus takes your hand into his, intertwines your fingers and gently places it above his chest, the place where you'd think his heart is.
"You know... you're the queen of my heart"
You just about melt into a puddle at the way he says it.
“And my body...and my soul" he adds.
You let out an airy chuckle before responding.
"You cheeky poet."
"Tortured poet." Remus attempts to correct you with faux irritation.
"Alright"
This is accompanied by another snicker.
"I'm serious!" Remus says, though he does mirror your smile.
You feign confusion as you reply.
“but you're Remus."
Remus just about whines at your pathetic joke with your brother's name as he leans back pushing one leg up and resting his free hand on it, before kissing the back of your intertwined fingers.
You stare up at him as he watches the sun set.
As you tighten your grip and lay your head on his shoulder, you think...
‘You too are the king of my heart, body, and soul.’
And that night you remember till today.
You picked that flower that night, he remembers.
And if you still have the flower, then he has hope.
He'll make it up to you, he thinks.
No matter how long it takes.
He knows he will.

like a moth to a flame
remus lupin x reader
sorry to my followers who thought i'd be uploading jjk content 😔😔
the sun was bright today, turning the pavement scorching and urging kids to try and cook eggs in the heat. you walk quickly down the road; your little sunhat providing meager protection but you're thankful for it regardless.
you glance at the watch fastened on your left wrist—it was the start of the afternoon shift for many service workers. including remus lupin. not that it mattered to you, of course.
of course.
you stop three paces from the quaint cafe, always bustling and a comforting sort of noisy. you fix your hair in the sideview mirror of a car parked near you, fluffing it up before smoothing it down again. pursing your lips, stuck between wanting to go in or touching up your lipstick. you decide on forgoing it.
ring!
the little bell attached to the door chimes when you step in, smiling. your gaze locks onto remus, dressed in the maroon uniform you see him in every weekend. he's only working here temporarily, while his friend who owns the cafe finds a permanent replacement for the weekend shift.
he turns, an easy grin on his face as he asks the next customer their order. his brown eyes twinkle. god really has favourites. you step into the queue. if people knew what you were doing, they'd call you a stalker. maybe you were one. you weren't sure. you'll have to search up the definition when you reach home.
after your coffee.
the line moves up quicker than you anticipated.
"hi, what can i get for you? our matcha iced tea is a new addition on the menu if you're interested." that low voice, raspy but warmed with honey. you could feel a dumb lovestruck smile sneak onto your face; you were a goner.
"oh, do you recommend it?" your voice comes out squeaky. red blooms in your cheeks out of embarrassment. hopefully he doesn't notice it.
"well, it does taste pretty good. but matcha isn't a match for everyone." the smile doesn't budge. you want to kiss him.
"er, i'll have one. in small."
"right away." he doesn't ask for your name; he asked for it all the previous times you came here. your grin stretches.
it doesn't take a long time for remus to hand you the matcha iced tea, your fingers brushing briefly. he felt warm in that small moment. you want to grab his wrist, not the cup.
"thank you," your murmur quietly, cooling your warm, and embarrassingly sweaty hands with the cup of iced tea. flavored in grass. why did you choose this anyway? oh, remus likes it.
he nods, his grin unwavering. "enjoy."
you move to the side, letting the next customer step up, and find a small table near the window. as you settle in, you watch him work, his movements efficient yet graceful.
the cafe is bustling, and you lose yourself in the comforting noise, the hum of conversations blending with the clinking of cups and the hiss of the espresso machine. the taste of matcha swirls in your mouth. you want to spit it out.
after a while, you notice remus wiping down a recently vacated table nearby. he glances your way and catches your eye.
"busy day?" you ask, trying to sound casual.
"always is on weekends," he replies, moving closer. "mind if i sit for a moment?"
your mind whirs, engine working on overdrive. "not at all."
he slides into the seat opposite you, a sigh of relief escaping his lips. "needed a minute. how's the tea? don't tell me it tastes like dirt." there's a lilt of humor at the end of his sentence
you snort, shaking your head slightly. "it's good. different, but i like it." it did taste like dirt, a little bit. a whole lot, if you're being honest.
"glad to hear that," he says, leaning back. "so, what brings you here every weekend?"
you bite your lip; if he knew, would he label you a stalker? you didn't want to risk it. "i like the atmosphere. it's... cozy. and the coffee's great, of course."
he chuckles, a warm, inviting sound. "that's good to know. you always seem to catch my shifts, though."
you could feel red rush to your cheeks, your heart pumping blood faster. "just a coincidence, i guess." yeah right.
before the conversation can continue, the door chimes again, and a group of noisy teenagers bursts in, filling the room with chatter. remus glances over his shoulder and sighs.
"break's over, i suppose," he says, standing up. "enjoy your drink."
"thanks, remus," you reply, watching him walk away. as he returns to the counter, you sag back into your chair, and set the iced tea—which you had death grip on to calm your nerves—onto the table. there's a little napkin there that wasn't before. presumably, remus left it when he sat here.
curiosity makes you pick it up, it's plain other than the logo of the cafe in the middle of it. and of course, the phone number scribbled in black at the edge of it.
along with i won't be here next weekend, maybe we can still meet? xx
god, he was going to be the death of you.

How do you think knight bus works? Like a wizard/witch just puts their arm up and it just detects them?
In OotP Tonks summons the bus so probably you have to think about it but how does Harry summons it in PoA? He had no idea about it's existence then.
Does it use a trace? But you can't put a trace on an adult or it's like some sort of charm like voldemort has put on his bame in DH?
Well, let's see what we're told about it:
If he was already expelled (his heart was now thumping painfully fast), a bit more magic couldn’t hurt. He had the Invisibility Cloak he had inherited from his father — what if he bewitched the trunk to make it feather-light, tied it to his broomstick, covered himself in the cloak, and flew to London? Then he could get the rest of his money out of his vault and . . . begin his life as an outcast. [...] Harry stepped backward. His legs hit his trunk and he tripped. His wand flew out of his hand as he flung out an arm to break his fall, and he landed, hard, in the gutter — [...] “Welcome to the Knight Bus, emergency transport for the stranded witch or wizard. Just stick out your wand hand, step on board, and we can take you anywhere you want to go. My name is Stan Shunpike, and I will be your conductor this eve —” The conductor stopped abruptly.
(PoA, 32-33)
“Come on, the quicker we get on the bus the better,” said Tonks, and Harry thought there was nervousness in the glance she threw around the square. Lupin flung out his right arm. BANG. A violently purple, triple-decker bus had appeared out of thin air in front of them, narrowly avoiding the nearest lamppost, which jumped backward out of its way.
(OotP, 524)
It seems there isn't really a spell per se, as Lupin doesn't even use his wand and Harry drops his. All you need to do is stick out your hand. And that's exactly what Stan Shunpike tells Harry: "stick out your wand hand and we'll take you anywhere,"
The Knight Bus was commissioned in 1865 according to Pottermore, so unlike The Trace and other such magics, it doesn't work on an ancient, long-forgotten spell. So, let's narrow down what you really need to summon the Knight Bus to figure out how the bus's magic could recognize it:
Stick out your wand hand over the road. This seems to be supported by all accounts of the bus, and Stan's words.
Wish to be transported by the bus. Magic is all about intention in the HP universe, so the desire for transportation likely plays a part here. This is also implied by Remus, Harry, and Stan to be part of it. Before Sirius scared Harry, Harry was thinking about traveling via broom, about how to live his life from this point onwards, so the intention of transportation was there.
So, how can the Knight Bus's magic recognize this?
Honestly, I think this is its own unique spell. We know spells can be created (as Snape came up with quite a few), and we know some spells are intended to be cast silently (like Levicorpus), so why would summoning the Knight Bus not be like that?
You think about summoning the Knight Bus, that's the intention part of the spell and it's meant to be cast silently. The wand movement is to raise your arm over the curb where you want the Knight Bus to appear (instructions for the spells on how to accomplish its intent), so this spell really gives the magic all the information needed to call the Knight Bus.
If it is indeed a spell like I illustrated, it'll make sense Harry could call it by accident. Spells can be cast accidentally, and this spell is probably no different.
This spell is probably enchanted into the Knight Bus to let it know where it is being summoned to. Basically, the wizard/witch who invented the Knight Bus didn't only invent the bus and all the enchantments to allow it to travel the way it does, but also this spell to summon it that can be cast without a wand. I'd guess it's a spell that doesn't require a lot of magic or finesse to really allow everyone to use it. And I think if whoever the inventor was could enchant the Knight Bus itself, it's not far-fetched to believe they could create a spell like that.
At least, that's my best bet.

monster au fun facts (OOC)
diavolo keeps having to try to prevent doppio from summoning any more demons
Thanks to the monster hunter's guild, italy doesn't really have prominent lycanthrope packs.
I'm sure someone could figure out how to make a drug out of moondust and im sure it's very likely to fucking kill you
ghiaccio is mildly allergic to himself, at least according to melone
squalo can't swim in his land form
tiziano makes accessories out of his own moulted and preened feathers. this is actually a sphinx tradition!
melone never met his father but was raised with constant reminder that whoever he was, he was pretty horrible, and growing up in that 'shadow' made him swear to himself he'd never turn out like his father. this is why melone acts sort of 'fatherly' towards babyface and often avoids actually even touching most women
i dont know if pesci actually knows hes undead assuming we go with idea 2 about him. he does kinda black out every full moon but nobody including himself addresses this. he knows well and good that prosciutto is undead but he assumes he himself is a normal human and that the Necromancy Doses that prosciutto uses for their form upkeep is just a Magic thing he doesn't Understand
Prosciutto literally has no beef with illuso illuso just keeps calling him a fucking bitch for having the nerve to zombify himself when illuso didn't really have a choice in becoming a ghost
illuso appears if you say his name 3 times in a mirror but says he does this by choice.
melone is immediately drawn to the sound of his own name (as in 'melone', not his real name) but conversely implies this is involuntary
my two ideas with cioccolata (hang on give me a few seconds for the rage to pass) and secco were 1. cioccolata is his own frankensteinian creation and experiments with other cryptians, secco is a werewolf and 2. suggested by others, secco is the frankensteinian creation but honest to god he still gives me werewolf vibes.
Ghiaccio always curls up to sleep and everyone who has seen him do this wonders about his spinal health
i cant tell whats the funniest way to go with gelato and sorbet: 1. Gelato is human, Sorbet is nonhuman (perhaps was once human). Gelato is insane and just a monsterfucker because of course he is. 2. sorbet is a human, gelato is a fucked up monster thing. unfortunately, sorbet is into that. 3. werewolf vampire romance. 4. gelato is a demon yet his stand is still angeleyes and sorbet still calls him angelface. 5. gelato is a turned being of some kind and sorbet is the one who turned him and gelato voluntarily let him do this because he thought it was hot
i had a thought that Limbo (my OC) could work at libeccios as like. a waitress and thats why (other than her being with narancia) she's super close with the bucci gang
squalo knows nothing of capitalism and relies completely upon tiziano
babyface glitches when going up against giorno
Fugo might have magical lineage, but it's been surpressed
Pesci knows a lot about the other members of la squadra due to Beach Boy's ability; in the monster au, rather than just hooking hearts and stuff, Beach Boy also just goes right for the soul and hooks the aura. unlike mista pesci knows well and good that hes surrounded by nonhumans but like what do you want him to do about it
animals are pretty much naturally alarmed by Formaggio's presence. ghiaccio tends to fluff up when Formaggio is too close to him.
prosciutto's eyes don't follow movement but he can still see
gelato is afraid of seagulls, chickens and most fowlbirds. this isnt monster au specific i dont know why but i imagine gelato is STUPIDLY fearless but when a seagull comes after his sandwich or a bird starts strutting towards him a little too fast he starts screaming and grabs a knife
regardless of what he is, gelato bites without warning whenever he gets the impulse
Narancia isn't too careful with hiding his formshifting from Mista but as long as he doesn't take a lupine form mista just assumes narancias weird like that
The bucci gang 'have' a 'cat' that's named narancia. it's actually just narancia in a cat form that he takes when he wants to seek physical affection or just be a weirdo, but mista doesn't know that
squalo knows how to write but can't spell or read. so he doesnt actually know how to write he just knows how to copy the letters.
narancia WILL tear up the couch if you leave him alone too long
along with turning blood into metal objects, in monster au, metallica also works the other way, allowing risotto to turn iron into blood. he eats a very iron-heavy diet to get his fix of blood without needing to directly drink it.
i also had the idea that he can drink your blood through your aura
melone and ghiaccio possibly have known each other for a really long time, and assuming ghiaccio is a turned ailuranthrope, melone might have known him before he was Turned and helped console him after the Incident.
bruising is common in physiological shifters like narancia, ghiaccio and limbo. Narancia, unlike the other two, though, is in semi-complete control of the way his cells assemble, so he's able to un-bruise himself, though the spot is usually still a bit sore. since he's been able to formshift most of his life, he's used to it, and doesn't really react beyond his weird 'teething habits.
with limbo and ghiaccio, they're more unfortunate, and often look bruised upon shifting back from theriomorph. most zooanthropes have 'morph hangovers' when a night is particularly bad, but they often learn to cope with it and carry on with their normal lives regardless.
MANY cryptians experience moon hangovers after the full moon.
though many aquabound maricrypt don't have lungs, maricrypt like sirens are able to take in air for the sole function of mimicking human speech.
selkies retain human vocal chords in seal form, and can seaspeak as well, but have a "seal" accent
most seafolk are sleek and pretty (in their water forms, at least) and that's why many seafolk are mistakenly thought to be all-female, because a lot of the males look twinkish or have "breasts" (breast-like organs which serve non-breast-like functions, usually).
limbo and narancia developed a stupid ass greeting of barking at each other in human form. they blame this on the adhd. they also blame the fact that the barks are REALLY convincing on the adhd.
honestly soft machine arc is just fucking disrespectful
squalo used to sleep with his eyes open until tiziano got too freaked out by it

Character Essay: Snape
So, there are some characters that I have feelings about. Like, that I can see what the author was trying to do with them, but I also just... think they failed.
Unsurprisingly, two of these characters have to do with Harry Potter. Severus Snape, and Albus Dumbledore.
Yes, I know, J.K. Rowling is a terrible person and a TERF. But this is still something I wanna write about. And this is my blog. So... yeah. The Albus Dumbledore post might come later.
So, Severus Snape.
I’m gonna break this down into 3 big issues I have with the character. Which does definitely call into question the way Snape was written. And I'll even put it under a read more so any people who are pro-Snape for whatever reason don't have to read any further.
And yeah, this isn't going to be nice to Snape. Like, I've said it before, and I'll say it again, Albus Severus Potter should have been named Rubeus Remus. It is actually kind of a crime that he never named a child for Hagrid, considering Hagrid was literally the first person who was nice to him and introduced him to the Wizarding World. But I digress, let's get to the main subject of this essay.
1. Treatment of Students
We know why Snape treats Harry like shit. It doesn't make it ok, but I wanna talk about other students. Disregarding the favouritism towards his own house, we already come across a huge problem, that is also a problem with Dumbledore as well...
Snape's an abusive teacher.
Even if we disregard Snape's treatment of Harry, we have how he treats students like Neville, and insults leveled at students not within his house. Even the best Hermione, who is basically as close to a perfect student as we get, is simply ignored and passed over without a comment, and Neville... Hoo boy.
Like, I don't know the specific guidelines teachers are given that they're not allowed to cross, but Snape breaks almost all of them. Insults and abuse are hurled towards Neville constantly, even when he's in other classes, like him insulting Neville right in front of Lupin. And while I do like Lupin... Lupin just smiles at it. Nothing ever happens. Snape apparently never even gets told off about abusing his students. Hell, he yells at Hermione and Harry in front of the Minister for Magic in the 3rd book, and Fudge, while surprised, does nothing about it other than trying to calm Snape down.
Like, is abuse just... not a thing in the Wizarding World? This comes up in my thoughts about Dumbledore as well, beyond this, but...
If Snape was a teacher anywhere else, he would have been fired. Like, immediately. But he's just allowed to do so. Like, the closest thing to punishment he gets is that he's not allowed to teach Defence of the Dark arts until Harry's 6th year.
And just so we know this isn't the norm, let's look at another teacher... Minerva McGonagall.
She is the head of Gryffindor House (although I still think she should be a Ravenclaw. As should Hermione. BUT ANYWAY) but she does not favour her house. Excluding Quidditch, in which she supports her House's team, but that's a different thing, that's fine. Whereas Snape has probably never taken so much as a single point from Slytherin, she was responsible for the largest amount of points taken from Harry at one time, if I'm right. If not the largest amount, certainly the largest amount of points taken in the first book. She is also strict, but is also shown to be fair, and will compliment a student and praise them if they do well. She praises Hermione in their first class, because while Hermione did not entirely succeed, she did show godd progress for her first try. And while we do not see her compliment a student from another House, it can be assumed that it does happen.
This is how a teacher SHOULD be. They are there to nurture students, teach them, not abuse them and play favourites.
There are other teachers in Hogwarts, but Snape is the main one who abuses them. A case could be made for Barty Crouch (disguised as Mad-Eye Moody) abusing them, by putting them under the Imperius Curse) but considering he was a Death Eater, and was apparently doing it because Dumbledore wanted him to, we'll just... ignore him. I don't think it's too far from what Moody would actually do, although I don't like to think of Moody as abusive.
But yeah, Snape is very abusive of his students, to the point that the most positive thing he can really do towards a student that isn't from Slytherin is ignore them or say nothing. And abuse is a really fucking bad thing, in case you didn't know.
Let's move onto the next topic...
2. His 'love' of Lily Evans
Yeah, I put the love in quotation marks. Mainly because it... doesn't really read that much like love to me. I am aromantic, so that might have SOMETHING to do with it, but...
It just comes off more as a creepy sort of obsession than anything else. An obsession deep enough for him to have a doe as a patronus.
Like... let's start from the beginning. The first time we see Snape and Lily, Snape is spying on her and it's implied that he's been doing so for a little bit. Even though they're just kids, I'm pretty sure that counts as stalking. And then he makes a branch fall on Petunia when she insults them, which could have seriously injured her, depending on the size of the branch and where it hit her. It was enough to make Petunia cry at the least when it hit her shoulder.
Snape also encouraged Lily to steal letters from her sister and read them, when they found out that Petunia had written to Hogwarts. Although I guess that doesn't really come into the subject of his 'love' for Lily.
We also see that Snape is very... racist, I guess? Does the whole blood thing count as racist? Calling Lily a Mudblood, and then when he tries to apologise he can't even deny that if it was anyone but her, he would not apologise for it. So basically having different rules for her, which I guess could come into a love thing but the fact that he calls muggleborns Mudblood and yet 'loves' one comes out as... kinda fetishistic to me, I'm not gonna lie.
In the books we also have him desperate to protect her from Voldemort, crying when she's dead... And yet despite that, he is horribly abusive to her son, just because he looks like his father. And yet he does say that he wants to keep him safe, angry at Dumbledore when he finds out they've basically been raising him like a lamb to the slaughter. So apparently he's fine with possibly mentally scarring Harry, but killing him? Oh, that's just totally unforgivable!
You can point out various things across the books that Snape has done for Harry, but that doesn't change the fact that Snape is INCREDIBLY abusive to Harry, even moreso than he is to other students.
And then we have him taking part of Lily's letter, just because it had her signiture, and part of the photo that showed her in it, which just... always struck me as creepy. Stalker-ish. I dunno how to explain it any better than that.
And then, we have absolutely the creepiest part... him wanting Harry to look at him as he dies. Just so he can pretend that he's looking into Lily's eyes, probably. Which... yeah, that's just super creepy.
Like, I honestly cannot see it as romance at all. It just comes off as Snape having an obsession. It's even worse in the movies where he is shown cradling Lily's dead body against him and crying. Which normally wouldn't be that bad but with everything else on top of that... yeah.
This does bring us onto the last subject...
3. Snape's 'Redemption'
Snape's redemption is supposed to happen after his death. Here's the problem... he's one of the main examples about why J.K. is very poor when it comes to redeeming characters. Like, Draco could have been set up for a redemption, but he wasn't, as were his parents. Snape was set up for a redemption... and J.K. seems to think it was enough?
So, the main thing that is supposed to redeem Snape, that is meant to make us think he's ok... is showing us his past with Lily, and various discussions with Dumbledore. The whole sequence is for exposition and to try and make us think Snape is a good guy because he 'loved' Lily, and that was his motivation for everything good he did. Which, again, comes off as pretty obsessive.
Here's the thing though...
Snape abused Harry for 6 years of his life. He made Draco set a snake on him in his second year. He repeatedly broke into Harry's mind which seemed to end up having the opposite effect that Dumbledore wanted. Dumbledore even basically admits as much, saying that Snape was a poor choice for it, that he had hoped Snape would be able to see past his hatred of Harry's father. He refused to listen to anyone when it came to Sirius, refusing the possibility that Sirius might be innocent (until Dumbledore talked to him about it, probably), outed a colleague as a werewolf, which, considering the allergory J.K. was aiming for, was like outing a gay man, and made him resign from his job because he knew student's parents would be writing in to complain about it, so it essentially cost Lupin a job, which as we know, is already something that werewolves had problems with.
I do have issues with J.K.'s allergory of werewolves as homosexuals... but let's just say that one of the most notable werewolves, after Remus, was known for attacking and 'turning' children and leave it at that. It's not relevant to the topic at hand anyway.
Showing us that Snape did some things right, and that he 'loved' Lily... like, let's pretend that he did love Lily for a moment, and that it wasn't a creepy obsession.
... That still doesn't excuse the shit he did. It doesn't excuse the abuse at all. It doesn't redeem him from being a Death Eater. His only reason for wanting to save the Potter family was Lily.
Saving Harry's life in the first year by countering Quirrell's curse, and then acting as referee in the next match to protect Harry? That doesn't redeem the abuse that he inflicted upon Harry in the first year, let alone the rest of it.
Let's assume he had the best intentions in Prisoner of Azkaban, and he was interested in rescuing Harry, Ron and Hermione from Sirius. Although that is a HUGE assumption, all things considered... still doesn't redeem him.
Checking that Sirius was indeed at headquarters and then alerting them that Harry had gone to the Department of Mysteries to try and save Sirius when Sirius wasn't even there? Still doesn't redeem him.
None of the good things Snape does redeems him for the abuse he inflicted upon his students and especially Harry and Neville, and his love for Lily reads more like a creepy obsession.
J.K. tried to redeem Snape... and absolutely failed. Sometimes when you write a character, you need more than a single chapter to redeem them.
I'm not even sure if Snape was redeemable at all. Abusing children is a pretty fucking terrible thing. And I don't think it's even me being biased for being abused by a teacher, it's just unacceptable.

It's the middle of the week post a wip
ON IT
Thanks for the tags, @pinkluminesce and @spikybanana! I think you both killed me in very different but equally wonderful ways with those snippets.
Once again from YOU (or whatever it'll be called) because it's devouring my brain far too quickly.
--
"You're good at that," praises James, only a little demeaning. "The people pleasing. You've got this voice, but it's not your normal voice. It's like…affected or enhanced or something." When Remus turns to look at him with a frown, James is grinning, his eyebrows waggling behind his glasses. "That's a compliment, Lupin. You should take it. You likely won't get many around here for a while."
"How did you do that?" asks Remus before he can stop himself. When James regards him with bemusement, Remus motions to the computer with his head. "The calendar. I can't get it to cooperate with anything I try to do."
"It's not hard," says James with an easy, dismissive shrug. "You just have to bully it a little, make it do what you want."
"That doesn't seem logical," mumbles Remus under his breath, feeling his frustration rise again as he tries to repeat James' process and fails. "Who designed this thing?"
"No idea. S'pose Benj isn't being the best teacher? Not surprising. He probably won't be." Turning to look at him again, James cocks his head at Remus. "He really is nice enough. He and Sirius went to uni together, then Sirius pulled him along for all of this. He's brilliant at what he does here, and while he's a bit tight-laced around the edges, he's mostly easy to get along with once you loosen him up a little, but there are other obvious issues getting in the way of things like this."
At Remus' deepening frown, James leans forward with a scoff.
"What, you can't see it yet?" he questions, voice dropping lower, nearly a whisper. "Benjy's in love with Sirius. Now, whether Sirius sees it and chooses to ignore it or he's completely oblivious to it, I've no idea, though I'd guess the latter because he's not said anything and he tells me everything, always has. And I do mean everything." James pins Remus with his hazel eyes, something almost threatening in his gaze before it fades as though it was never there at all. "Because of that, anyone new that comes in here that might redirect Sirius' focus away from him becomes an instant threat to our dear Benjy, so he's unkind and, honestly, a rude prick. You'd might as well get used to it now."
Remus' gaze shifts up towards the closed glass of the window, angling towards the hallway where Sirius and Benjy are stowed away from sight.
So that's your game. I have to admit, it makes sense, and really, who wouldn't fall in love with that after watching it all day long. All it took for me was one glimpse and I was gone. Saying Sirius has a mystical power over people is an understatement, but this won't do, Benjy. Sirius and I are kismet, written in the stars as clearly as his name.
James shakes his cup again next to Remus' ear.
And I swear to christ, Sirius, if your friend rattles that bloody cup of his one more time, I'll shove it so far down his throat that he'll be forced to breathe through its straw for the rest of his life. What does he even keep in it all the time? Probably some sort of ridiculous protein shake that doesn't work and is a waste of money. I bet he's a health freak, because why wouldn't he be? Cocky and arrogant, driving around in the largest penis on earth, but of course he's body conscious –
"Where the hell did you just go?" interjects James into Remus' thoughts, breaking him out of them with a jolt. He eyes Remus for a few seconds before grunting. "That's creepy, mate. Really, it is."

Somehow they escape, Jigen doesn't know how but they do. Kaz isn't one to make mistakes but if there's a miracle disguised as a silver lining to all of this then this is it and Jigen isn't gonna waste a opportunity.
Getting Lupin up is hard, guys practically boneless and Jigens bone dead tired from all the stress.. But adrenaline is one hell of a drug and somehow he manages to get lupin up and soon their both leaving with Jigen trying to pay no mind to the streak trail of blood lupins leaving behind and Jigen really hopes they make it out before the others find the trail and track them by it.
The Benz is near totaled, he doesn't know why Kaz and Oliver brought it with them instead of dumping it, thought the idea of them taking it for a trophy doesn't really cross itself out in his mind. When jigen gets him in the car he takes a second to rip off part of his clothing to wrap around lupin's knee and press to stop the bleeding because he's bleeding pretty heavily and everything is slippery and its hard to get a grip on the steering wheel.
the pressure causes Lupin to wake up and yelp a bit from the pain, and he's really lightheaded and out of it and he ends up letting out a squealing noise and all Jigen can do is shush him because he's worried about Lupin alerting the others. Jigen attempts to stop the bleeding and anytime there’s a surge of pain Lupin squeezes his hand, and him squeezing it is fine, Jigen can deal with that pain.
What he can’t deal with is the pain of realizing that lupins grip is getting weaker and weaker until he stops squeezing all together
Somehow despite apprehensions and fears the car still works, it still drives. And the entire drive to the hospital he's reassuring lupin that he's ok now and that everything's gonna be fine but he knows lupin can barely understand him right now so he's mostly repeating it to keep himself calm.
Sometime during the drive Lupin slumps forward and Jigen grabs him by the shoulder and while he knows he has a possible hip wound, he pulls him to the side so Lupin can lay his head on his lap
for half the drive when both hands aren’t on the wheel, one of them is stroking Lupins hair
Lupin was shaking under his hand when he was stroking his head.
All of a sudden the shaking stops. The soft gurgle stops.
But he can’t look down he can’t look down or else he’s gonna loose it because he can feel the warm wetness on his leg and he wants to think its just him sweating but he knows better
So he keeps his eyes on the road, while his one hand shakes.
He can’t even tell if he’s crying, sweating or if his eyes just hurt from barely blinking while driving, but suddenly his eyes start to blur
The hand that was gently shaking him moves to Lupin’s face, where his thumb strokes his cheek. Jigens attempt to get as close to his mouth and nose as possible hoping to feel at least a minor puff of air, or a twitch, anything that could indicate he wasn’t driving for nothing
Jigen gets Lupin and himself to the hospital and Jigen's fuckin emotionally and physically exhausted by that point
They cart Lupin off and all Jigen does is pace frantically back and forth waiting for news. He’s disheveled, his hair is being clung to his face by drying stiff blood.
But just then something calls his name, almost unsure and his blood runs cold
He forgot
He put Goemon in charge of watching his sister
Goemons home watching the baby
Maddie works tonight
Maddie just got in she isn’t even dressed in her work clothes yet
So imagine her shock when she comes in and just see’s her brother frantically pacing back and forth covered in blood. When Jigen notices her, he kinda avoids maddie's help at first bc he feels like he doesn't deserve to get all fixed up while lupin's gonna be stuck in a hospital bed for the next while
he wants to keep bleeding and being sore n bruised bc he feels like its the least of what he deserves for getting lupin wrapped up into this whole mess
after all why is he unscathed and lupin not
But she’s his sister, and much like him she can be just as stubborn as he can be.
So maybe she convinces him to allow her to just take care of the large gash on his head where the glass from the Benz crash is cutting, so that she doesn’t have to worry about him potentially bleeding to death cause facial wounds DO bleed like a bitch.
Plus she basically just got her brother back, she doesn’t want to loose him again
She stitches him up, and she goes to get something and but comes back and he’s gone. She figures the stubborn ask just left and is fully expected to believe that, until a “Code Blue” gets announced on the intercom
She rushes to go see what’s up. . .but when she gets to where the announcement stated
She finds Jigen standing by the observation window of one of the rooms
And he looks dead eyed exhausted, quiet and just all around looks like crap.
then she looks in the window he’s staring in
and she realizes now why he is the way that he is
why was jumping around her questions and seeming incapable of answering them

Please ramble. I want to know more about Arsene Lupin! Especially compared to the first major appearance of him in the lupin iii anime
OKAY SO,,
Arsene Lupin my absolute beloved. He's such a lil bastard and he's so much more like Lupin III than I would've thought. He's so entertaining, and despite being a lil bastard he is genuinely so cute and silly and a brat, and just the most dramatic man ever. I'm only 2 and a half novels into the series but I am just so in love with him.
Comparing him to Lupin I's first major appearance in the anime(that being Lupin Zero) to even just Arsene Lupin's first ever short story...
W o w.
It's like comparing Mamo to Cagliostro TBH.
Now I will ramble about this lil thief man. Careful, this is gonna be long. It will also include a bunch of stuff from the first novel, so keep that in mind if you don't want an spoilers! Would they be called spoilers? These novels are like a 100 years old...
First off, Lupin's first ever short story is this.
"The Arrest of Arsène Lupin"
Yes he gets arrested immediately. Yes it was absolutely his own fault. Despite being very smart he's also very stupid. It runs in the family I guess. Here's a small summary of the first ever story, it'll give you a good idea of his character :D
"Arsène Lupin is on your vessel, first cabin, blonde hair, wound right forearm, traveling alone under name of R—"
This is pretty much where the plot starts. Lupin send a telegram to the boat he's on saying his on the boat, and the rest of the story being about the passengers of the boat trying to find out who was actually Arsene Lupin(during this he's stealing stuff and messing with the passengers). All the while it's being told from Lupin's perspective as he's under a fake name(Bernard D'Andrezy). Oh, there's also a woman, Miss Nelly. She's with him the whole time, and Lupin has fallen in love with her. She'll become more important later.
Anyways, as soon as Lupin steps off the boat he immediately gets caught by Inspector Ganimard(the man assigned to catch Lupin, and who Lupin refers to as "the personal enemy of Arsene Lupin" while in disguise. I could ramble about him and Arsene for hours but this isn't about him--). And the reason he's caught isn't just because Ganimard recognized him instantly(By gazing into his eyes. This surprisingly comes back later.)...it's also because of the stupid telegram he sent.
I hesitated a moment. Then he hit me a sharp blow on the right arm, which caused me to utter a cry of pain. He had struck the wound, yet unhealed, referred to in the telegram.
The chapter ends with it being revealed that this was actually a story being told by Arsene to his friend(Who is basically Leblanc's self-insert), who writes down all the stories Arsene tells him, and is referred to as Arsene's historiographer later on(Yes, this means that the books are canon in-universe). The story ends with this dialogue from Arsene.
"Why,” said he, “why should I retain a definite form and feature? Why not avoid the danger of a personality that is ever the same? My actions will serve to identify me." Then he added, with a touch of pride: "So much the better if no one can ever say with absolute certainty: There is Arsène Lupin! The essential point is that the public may be able to refer to my work and say, without fear of mistake: Arsène Lupin did that!"
--- This first chapter is a really good introduction to Arsene's character(And from what I know, there's really only one exception to this but...I'll get into that another time), and the rest of the novel only gets better. He's such a fun character though out the entire thing. This things he does are just so insane sometimes and I love it. Some insane things include sending a calling card requesting the treasure he wants to some rich guy, and even he specifies the things NOT to send because he doesn't want them, ALL WHILE HE'S STILL IN PRISON. Or the time Ganimard came to visit him in prison, and Arsene was just :DD!!! and the proceeded to tell Ganimard his entire plan while Ganimard just sits and listens.
The time they planned a date(Same scene mentioned before BTW)--
"Arsène Lupin, you are not a bad fellow, after all." “Thank you,” said Lupin. “Ganimard, this is Friday. On Wednesday next, at four o'clock in the afternoon, I will smoke my cigar at your house in the rue Pergolese." "Arsène Lupin, I will expect you."
God, and the scene of him getting caught stealing stuff by the woman he fell in love with, and he just stares at her like a deer in headlights, before immediately promising to her that he'll return everything he just stole, only for the girl to still reject him later on(obviously) after everything is returned and he gets all depressed(or the other novel where a DIFFERENT girl he liked said she hated thieves and he started crying). Even just the little things he does are still so charming, like his paragraph long(sometimes even longer) monologues and rambles(Omg same) or his constant use of "My dear"(especially to Ganimard). Keep in mind though that all of this is all just the FIRST novel.
Okay okay, I'm getting ahead of myself. I don't wanna ramble toooo much more because this is already super long, and if I don't stop now I will go on forever. But as you can see, I'm absolutely obsessed with this lil thief man, he's such a lovable lil bastard and I adore him so so much. 💖🎩💎
#{pixeltalks}#{pixelanswers}#hi yes im obssessed thank you for letting me ramble :3#sorry this is sooo long i had a lot to say XD#I STILL have a lot to say but i'll spare you guys for now XD

Hi this is "severitus with alive Jilly au, unboxing horcrux gone wrong". I'm not going to write this because it will take time and those ideas are basically my good bye letter to this fandom. It's a little painful for me but I know I cannot stay in this fandom anymore. There are obviously more reasons but the main one is because this has been a central part of my childhood and I feel like I just cannot let it be a part of me for an unknown amount of time. I might return to it later in life but this is technically my goodbye to my childhood and me saying hello to adulthood officially (this is also why I'm staying an anon, I don't want to be associated with this fandom anymore, I want a clean break). This took a sad turn, but anyways, returning to the au.
You know the drill, I might also drop in
Bellatrix has a knife to my throat, I don't know what to do, I don't know what to say, I guess I don't have to say anything cuz Ron starts screaming
The rest of the week is kind of a blur everyone is panicking, we're sleeping in the Great hall, my parents come over and for some reason my dad asks what did I do to scare her off and is disappointed to find out I didn't do anything, she just kinda ran away after hearing Ron. My mom is kind of silent, she doesn't say anything, just asks if I got hurt "or something" (why did she say it like that does she not love me anymore?) and they just kind of leave after that, not making sure I was actually okay I wish Auntie or Peter were here instead of them
Snape did make sure I was okay, he gave me a cookie and a awkward head pat. Professor Lupin actually tries to talk to me, I appreciated that, he even offered to tutor me in any spell I wanted and I don't think any of us was expecting me to take up that offer. I had a dream where I couldn't cast a spell, it was called a Patronus and it apparently works against dementors, considering I still can't go outside without hearing children being tortured by a woman in a orphanage (I asked Tom about it and he apparently did grow up in an orphanage and we're his memories, I'm still not sure why am I hearing them but okay, sure, normal Tuesday shit for Harry Potter), I also know that Tom approves of this choice my soul was warmer that usual
Things go of as usual, aunt Petunia actually sends me an owl and that is a big step because usually hates owls.
I may not like being treated like I'm made out of glass by the rest of the school but I gained a new friend, Hermione, she is a little condescending and a little bit too nosey but she is super loyal and is willing to talk about things that Ron isn't ready for yet, like politics and bullies and the unfairness of being put a label on and being expected to act a certain way and how the wizarding world treats those they deam beneath them and how cute Blaise Zabini is and how hot Lavender is becoming. Though she is weirdly against dark magic and I am too, I think, but she takes it to a whole new level and now we are researching dark magic and how negatively it affect our society. I win three to one pro-dark magic.
School goes on and I have a bet with Ron and Hermione about the date of Snape and aunt Petunia's wedding because Spane handed me a letter from my aunt one morning and the Weasley twins said they saw a hickey of Snape's neck. I bet around summer after fifth year and summer before the forth year. Who cares I wasted twenty galleons, I'm rich, especially after my godfather dies.
I master the Patronus charm and leave everyone flabbergasted when I used it spontaneously on a dementor on my way to Herbology.
Somewhere in a tower towering over the school a batty old teacher named Trelawney said in a thousand voices that weren't her own but were: "That boy might as well save himself for Death if he is going to provoke him so, Death always loved a challenge." To bad the only person there to witness that didn't have any idea what that meant and thought that Trelawney was high and made a sexual joke so he laughed, like any 14 year old would, and went back to cleaning fake cristal balls.
The year ended so we went back home and I will spend the first month with my aunt and then head back to my parents. A scream is heard along the train and then another one and another one. Students are running along the hall so I get out of the compartment to see what's going on and a decapitated head (a boy in the year above me, a Hufflepuff), drenched in blood, lands at my feet (the only person who remebers what happens when you peak Death interest the only person who can begin to guess Harry's fate) with a a loud smacking sound and I look up from the blood filled floor and look into the eyes of a faded beauty, Bellatrix fucking Lestrange, in all her twisted glory.
The smiles at me, it's a gentle smile, it's the smile that a mother gives her child when their being endearing or funny, it's surprisingly... fond. "I finally found you again, my beautiful little doll." He grabs my collar with surprising force and forcefully drags me to a corpse filled compartment and the last thing I see before the window shatters behind me is her motherly smile.
'At least I can't lose the bet when I'm dead' is my last thought before pain erupted from my head and my back as hundreds of glass shards find their painfull home in my back.
Sorry for the wait, it took me 45 minutes to write this to make it quality to make up for my drunk ramblings last time, and don't worry, despite the cruelty I'm putting Harry through, he'll survive it somehow, he's a though little cookie.
Love you and your blog! Say hi to your wifey for me!
Oh! Well I’m proud of you for letting go! I’ll miss your asks!
Your idea is so good and I adore it!!! It was great that you put it out there before leaving! It’s very well thought out and I love the plot! You put some good thought into this.
You guys really inspire me to write.
“Thought that Trelawney was high and made a sexual joke, so he laughed” 😭😭 relatable
This ^ had me in tears ngl 🤣🤣🤣 Blaise is cute…and Lavender is hot…no lies here
@moonlightdancer26 my anon says hi ☺️
Miss you 🥹

I've been noticing your posts of Detective Conon (is that how it's spelled?) anyways I'd been noticing them and tbh I'd forgotten who it was and I'd been seeing the little boy wondering why he looked so familiar before I remembered where I'd seen him.
He's from the Lupin III X Detective Conon special. That's when it clicked that you were posting Detective Conon. Bro I didn't realize it was him till I remembered this- 😭
[Warning: Rambling's of a fangirl Ahead]
Hai there! Hope you're having a great day!!
Yeah, The Conan (as in Arthur 'Conan' Doyle) X Lupin special was a thing, lol. The thing is that I'm just like you except I'm on the other side of the spectrum, I've only watched Detective Conan, but I haven't watched Lupin at all. I've watched the special as well, but it seems that it was more Lupin focused (I heard it was made for anniversary or something??), so I was kind of confused for some of the parts. There's a crossover movie as well, but after my reaction to the special, I figured that I'd watch both after I have consumed Lupin media. I still haven't watched it but that's because I'm too busy to watch anything at the moment now, but once I'm able to have more free time, I'd love to start watching Lupin since it seems like a lot of fun!!
I'm pretty sure the crossovers were made because both shows share the same animation studio. Detco's (short for detective Conan) mangaka, Gosho Aoyama is a huge fan of the series, even stating Fujiko is his ideal woman. There's even a character who's based off of Fujiko in detco as well!
As for Detective Conan, considering all the fandom I've seen you be a part of (You have great taste BTW), I feel like it would be a shame if you didn't check out the series because I feel it fits perfectly into your tastes. I myself started the series when I heard there were Urusei Yatsura references in the series:
Couldn't find a clear anime counterpart of this so have the manga version instead. This is only just one of the references though.
And while looking up the reference, I came across a small plot summary and it intrigued me. Then I started the anime and I've been obsessed since. Like Ace Attorney, Detco is a mystery series with tons of lovable characters. It also has an overarching plot which keeps you intrigued at the same time. A series filled with Love, Thrill, Shock and Suspense to the brim. I would highly recommend it!!
You can experience the series by either manga or anime. I'd say for you anime might suit better since the manga is still ongoing, over 100 volumes, is officially licensed but it has localization (the names, 96% of the fandom uses the Japanese names), it is readable on the VIZ app for a small subscription, but the localization problem still exists. Of course, you can read fanscans without localization as well. Mangadex is good site for that.
As for the anime, it has over a 1000 episodes (+ movies and OVA and other stuff) but that's because it has tons of fillers. 65% of the series is canon to the manga. You can easily look up a filler list and watch which are canon according to that. There are good fillers, but you can watch those in your own time. There are movies as well, which even though not canon, I'd definitely still recommend.
I'd say if you're watching the TV series in the quickest time, it would take a few months. I think I took 5-6 months, but I also took a lot of breaks in between so it isn't all that relevant.
Anyways, even though watching Detco is time consuming it is still something I do not and will never regret because of story and characters this amazing (and memeable) and I'm pretty sure everyone else who have watched it feels the same.
Detco does have a sister series called Magic Kaito which is much shorter in case you've decided not to watch Detective Conan. It's a phantom thief focused series with 5 volumes and 25 something episodes. However, if you do watch Detco, you will come across Magic Kaito whether you like it or not..
In the end, the choice is up to you. Sorry for all the rambling, when I start talking about any my favorite things I just can't seem to calm down..
If you have any queries, feel free to ask! I'm open to any discussion!!
#thanks for the ask!#sorry for the late reply btw#i just knew i was going ramble as soon as i saw the ask so i decided to reply when im free#also ignore any lupin posts i mightve reblogged#its either because the post was memeable or the art is great#im too shy to put this one int the detco or lupin tags so im not doing it

It would also be an even stronger Holmes vs Lupin since it’s clear that it was Toichi who’s more enamored with Lupin than his son. And Lupin can get very dark. Damn, I hate how much sense this makes to the point I’m wondering why you called this crack at all. There’s nothing really funny or absurd about this.
Yes! This too.
Don't even really have much of a comment for that, but this ask did remind me of what little we got about Kaito's dad in Nonchalant Lupin (So I'mma ramble about that a moment in loo of writing my thoughts down in a more sensible place). Honestly isn't much, and I'm relying on fan-translations here, but in that story; 1. Kaito's family name is Lupin. 2. Kaito is known to be the son of a thief. And while it's a different story than Magic Kaito, it does feel like it's the raw gem that eventually became Magic Kaito.
So maybe the fact that Kaito's dad was a known thief means he was initially intended to be a darker character than he is presented as. Someone like Lupin. Someone who's lied so often and so well he's even gotten himself convinced that he's a good person.

Lupin III Chapter 64 Review
this cover is a cooler one, but i wish the paint texture didnt look so weird on it...
ok ok so now lupin's in the university since they practically have no choice but to let him inn
he is trying to promote his new club, the Master Thief Club! but he bumps into zenigata along the way obviously they dont like each other and zeni makes it out VERY CLEAR to him that he isn't going get away with doing anything in here he also makes a comment about the heiji zenigata family line so yeah thats cool (why is his first name heitaro now)
lupin plasters posters advertising his club all over the university, zenigata and fujiko try to stop him but they get trolled instead. lupin is such a bastard already...
then we skip some time a bit to see lupin trying to extort someone into paying 50 million yen or else he has to leave this school?? what on earth is he planning???
turns out he ain't only extorting from one person, he has multiples of them hanging around outside the university!
"The Master Thief Donors Club" Lupin shows a billboard that lists the other debts he forced onto other people- all ranging into the million...
he even goes out of his way to extort fujiko out of 100k yen! zenigata sees this, and clearly doesnt accept what lupin is doing. a professor in the school by the name of jippo also doesn't accept it either... and lupin also extorts him.
"We, the members of the Master Thief Club, hereby demand the resignation of Professor Jippo. The denial of this request will be met with a 10 million yen fine and 42 cases of beer."
what is the meaning of all hes doing...?
lupin and zenigata get into an all-out brawl, and lupin gets called in by the chancellor to have a little meeting... lupin tells zenigata to wait at the donor wall, and "everything will make perfect sense."
lupin then meets with the chancellor, along with the parents of the kids that got extorted (they are all very rich and snotty, according to lupin.) lupin then tells the chancellor the reason why he's doing this. after some research, he's found out that the parents had bribed professor jitto to let their kids pass! thus, he fake-extorted the kids back in order to expose the parents how does he expose them you ask? with some simple steps!
lupin tells the parents to look in this curtain, and goes out to zenigata outside the donor board
he rips out the sign that originally says "The Master Thief Donors Club" to reveal...
"WE BRIBED PROFESSOR JITTO TO PASS OUR STUPID KIDS!"
the curtain was all just a trick for the parents to reveal themselves on the board, and the price was simply to show how much they payed jitto to get their kids to pass...
good on you lupin! it wasnt the best of ways but you did something good.
the end.
#lupin iii#lupin the third#local lupin manga fan screams about the manga as per usual#lupin iii manga#inspector zenigata#koichi zenigata

My fics rated by how many times it says "Regulus" (per 100 words)
Invisible Ace 2.61 I didn't expect it to have a better ratio than Get Help but wow here we are. It's a really short Regulus-centric ficlet though
Rise and Shine, Cockerel 2.30 Frankly surprised by this one, didn't think it said "Regulus" all that many times
Get Help 2.23 Short and sweet and with Regulus' POV, makes sense
The Book Of Love 1.94 Frankly surprised this one, I expected it to be less filled with Regulus? Though it is about Regulus through James' eyes, so.
Bet You Thought You Saw The Last Of Me 1.76 Inferius Regulus my beloved. I'm fond of him
It would eat you like poison If you knew what I knew 1.76 I honestly forgot how good this one was. Also. The song is stuck in my head again. Does it get your blood boiling... Does it make you see red... do you wanna destroy it... does it get in your head... Literally the perfect song for Regulus realising what a lying bastard Voldemort is
Expert on Call 1.69 acutely cute, also expected less
I Do Not Accept This 1.51 Regulus and rat!Kreacher on an adventure ♥
Regulus Orange Is The New Black Cat 1.5 I had fun with the concept of Regulus being stuck as a cat animagus and becoming Crookshanks...
45 Decibels 1.36 I should write more of this. I love how soft Regulus is here. Cat years did him good. Somebody send prompts
Lord's Redemption (Friday 30, October 1981) 1.34 So much a n g s t in here but also I love the poetic language I managed to give it. Very Regulus centric
Regulus Didn't Die For This 1.29 This was fun to write. Regulus didn't die for Harry to enter the Triwizard Tournament with 0 safety precautions. Also Discord Death my beloved
I Pledge My Loyalty 1.25 Seems appropriate. I like what I did there ^^
Lily's Little Adventure 1.2 I looove Regulus interacting with children ajaksj. This was fun to write I want to write more
Heads of Houses, Head over Heels 1.17 Bartylus my beloved ♥
Somebody Call Out To Your Brother (he’s calling out your name) 1.08 No surprise here, that with the repetitions in the second half
The Unfroggivable Curse 0.93 ♥♥♥♥♥ I don't know why I expected there to be more of "Regulus" but I did. It took a detour to Snape and Lily and the Potters and the Lupins. Ofc there isn't that much of "Regulus". Still. My baby-cheeked baby
To Reach A Port We Must Set Sail 0.71 Stabby Regulus is stabby :D
Capymama 0.64 :D :D :D Yeah this was fun to write and came out pretty cute
Black Madness 0.62 I love it when my boy is allowed to go unhinged ♥
One Night Marriage 0.61 Yeah I guessed about that much, the Lily POV is probably why it ranks higher than Meet Ugly
Meet Ugly 0.5 The focus of the fic is pretty evenly divided between him and Lily so I'm not too surprised.
Sincerely, Your Favourite Cousin 0.4 I love them Black cousins ♥
Reginald Black 0.12 He's got amnesia, the name Reginald which he refers to himself as comes up... 1.4 times per 100 words.
Jealousy Jealousy 0.12 Yeah this one is more about Lily
Paint Me Anew 0.04 Kreacher calls him Regulus once. But like this is almost 3k of me picking wallpapers for Grimmauld Place :D
Everything Wrong With (Your Local Vigilante Punkband) 0.04 His name is there once and I think that was an accident actually lol. He's speaking to his muggle therapist
To Be Or Not To Be (Involved With A Vigilante Punk Band) 0 He is amnesiac talking to his therapist and his birth name doesn't even come up lol. I remember avoiding writing it, even. This one was fun I adore it.
Sinking Slowly 0 He's mentioned, but apparently not by name, huh. Oh. Sirius refers to him as "Reggie" three times, okay

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban | JK Rowling | Published 1999 | *SPOILERS*
Harry Potter, along with his best friends, Ron and Hermione, is about to start his third year at Hogwarts. Harry can't wait to get back to school after the summer holidays. But when Harry gets to Hogwarts, the atmosphere is tense. There's an escaped mass murderer on the loose, and the sinister prison guards of Azkaban have been called in to guard the school...
Harry Potter once against finds himself back with the Dursleys as it is the summer holidays away from his home at Hogwarts. Unfortunately, he is unable to visit with Ron at the Burrow this year, as Mr. Weasley won a bit of money through a contest at the Ministry of Magic, and the Weasley's have set off for Egypt, where they are visiting one of their older sons working for Gringotts Bank.
Harry's somewhat happy summer holidays comes to a halt when Vernon's sister, Marge, comes for a week long visit. He is told that he should go along with their cover story told to Marge, where Harry has been sent to live at St. Brutus's, a home for disturbed criminal boys. Deciding to do so in order to get through the remainder of the month before he returns to his true home, Harry endures all sorts of insults from his "aunt".
On what was to be her last night visiting with the Dursleys, Harry explodes in anger when Marge insults his parents. In doing so, he unexpectedly does magic without meaning too, causing Marge to inflate like a balloon. In the end, Harry decides to run away versus remaining with his aunt and uncle to endure the punishment they surely have waiting for him. While figuring out what to do, Harry sees what he believes is to be a very large black dog. Frightened, he throws out his wand arm, and mistakenly summons the Knight Bus.
This magical bus gives wizards and witches, and all magical folk, the ability to get anywhere. He tells the bellhop, Stan, that his name is Neville Longbottom and hides his telltale scar in order to stay as under wraps as he can, he is informed that Sirius Black, a known murderer, is on the run from Azkaban, the magical prison.
When he arrives at the Leaky Cauldron, the pub that houses the entrance to Diagon Alley in its backyard, Harry is met by the Ministry of Magic himself, Cornelius Fudge. Harry is sure he is about to be expelled from school for the incident involving Marge, but Mr. Fudge simply wants Harry to stay at the pub, and not go running off into Muggle London, but stay within the confines of Diagon Alley in order to ensure his safety.
The day before he is to leave for Hogwarts, he meets with Ron and Hermione, along with Ron's family. They are all set to stay at the pub as well overnight before going off to Hogwarts. After what is a long day, and on his way back up to bed after Ron forgets something downstairs, Harry overhears Mr. and Mrs. Weasley discussing that Sirius Black is currently after him. He isn't sure why.
The Weasley's escort their children to King's Cross Station, and Mr. Weasley informs Harry what he had overheard the night before. Harry promises not to go looking for Black, and to stay out of trouble.
The school year begins without incident on the train. They are sharing a compartment with who they assume to be their new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, whose bag states his name is RJ Lupin. The three friends begin discussing what Harry had overheard, but when they're fairly close to the grounds, the train comes to a sudden halt, and dementors board the train. Dementors are the prison guards for Azkaban, allowed out into the real world in order to search for their missing prisoner. Harry has an unwelcome reaction to them.
Lupin gives him a bit of chocolate, which helps bring Harry back from the freezing he had felt when they had appeared. When he arrives at school, he assures Professor McGonagoll that he is fine, that Lupin had given him chocolate on the train and that it won't be necessary for him to stay overnight in the hospital wing.
The year continues without incident up until his first Quidditch match, during which the dementors enter the stadium, and Harry once again reacts unfavorably to them. He falls off his broomstick, saved by a spell from Dumbledore that lets him float to the ground instead of falling, but after his spell, he learns that his prized possession has been injured when it ultimately landed in the Whopping Willow.
Devastated by the loss of his broom and his first Quidditch match ever, Harry continues with his studies. Both Ron and Harry wonder how Hermione is dealing with so many lessons this term, as many of her classes begin at the same time as each other, and they often find her with them on second, and gone the next. Ron is also hellbent on keeping Hermione's cat, Crookshanks, away from his rat, Scabbers.
After Ron finds blood on his sheets and Scabbers gone, he assumes that the vicious cat has gotten ahold of his beloved pet, and he stops speaking to Hermione, and after Harry acquires a new Firebolt broomstick at Christmas, they both stop speaking to her when she tells their head of house, Professor McGonagoll, about it. The professor confiscates the broom with the promise that he could have it back after it is checked that it hasn't been tampered with.
Luckily for Harry, the sender was simply being kind and he is allowed his broomstick back. This is all along with Sirius Black being seen within the walls of the school on multiple occasions, including harassing and ripping up the Fat Lady, the woman who stands guard outside of their common room, as well as entering the boy's dormitory where Ron scared him away.
Security is running rampant on the grounds, and the students aren't allowed to go anywhere without a teacher, and the hovering over Harry continues. During his first trip to Hogsmeade, the wizarding village that third year students are allowed to attend with parent or guardian permission (which Harry did not have, therefore he had to use a map called the Maurader's Map, in order to gain access thanks to Fred and George), he overhears the true story behind why Sirius is after him:
Sirius had been friends with his parents, even participating as Best Man at their wedding, and being named Harry's godfather. When the Dark Lord himself was after his parents, James and Lily were told to use a friend as their secret-keeper, and they had chosen Sirius. A few days later, Voldemort turned up at their home and killed them and attempted to murder Harry but was unsuccessful. In his haste that the deal hadn't been done, he confronted their friend, Peter Pettigrew in the street, killing him and murdering several other Muggle bystanders.
Harry is floored by this revelation. His parnets best friend had betrayed them, the ultimate betrayal in his eyes, and he doesn't know what to do.
On one of the last nights of term, they receive word from Hagrid that his beloved Hippogryph, Buckbeak, is set to be executed after he had accidentally injured Malfoy (Draco did not perform the respect ritual with the large bird prior to, and was hurt when he approached it). Determined to get down to Hagrid, the three friends don the Invisibility Cloak and get to him. Hagrid hurries them out the back door before the executives arrive to do their bidding, but prior to them being run out of Hagrid's house, they locate Scabbers, who had been hiding inside Hagrid's cupboards since he had gone missing.
Ron is elated, but on their way back to the castle, Crookshanks once again appears, but he isn't alone. He is followed by the large black dog that Harry was sure was a grim. The dog ends up wrestling with Ron over Scabbers, and Ron breaks his leg, and the dog drags him into a hole underneath the Whomping Willow. Hermione and Harry follow, and they're stunned to see that the large dog is Sirius himself, who can turn himself into an Animagus.
Lupin appears, and explains to Harry that Sirius wasn't responsible for Lily and James' death as originally believed. Instead, it was their other friend, Peter Pettigrew. During his time at Hogwarts, the Shrieking Shack and the tunnel that leads from the tree to the shack, was created for him and him alone, as he had been bitten by a werewolf when he was very young, and this was his only way to attend Hogwarts safely. Dumbledore took the extra measures in order to keep not only the students and the villagers safe, but also Lupin safe.
He explains that his three best friends became Animagi in order to be with him once a month during his transformations, and that Scabbers, Ron's longtime family pet, is in fact, Peter. Ron is disbelieving, until his rat transforms into the man himself.
It is then told that Peter had become the Potters's secret keeper at the behest of Sirius, who knew that the Dark Lord would come after him, but not the unsuspecting Peter. Unfortunately, Peter had already been working under Voldemort at the time, and ratted on his friends, leading to their death. Sirius, who confronted Peter, on the busy Muggle street, was sent away because Peter faked his death and has been living as a rat for the last 12 years, the same amount of time the Weasley's had had him in their home and lives. Ron understands now that it wasn't a miracle that his family pet lived so long; all of the three friends believe Sirius and Lupin.
They begin to head back to the school, but unfortunately for all, Lupin begins to transform into his werewolf counterpart as it is a full moon, and he did not take the potion that helps keep his transformations at bay during that time of the month. Sirius tells the kids to run, and transforms himself into the dog in order to keep the werewolf away, and in doing so, Peter is able to get away.
When they once again run into the dementors, Harry believes he sees his father performing the Patronus charm that repels them, and when he comes too, he is in the hospital wing of the school. Dumbledore comes to them, and explains to Hermione that they need more time; and together, she and Harry return a few hours prior.
She explains that she has been using a Time Turner in order to go to all her classes this year; she was given special permission from the Ministry of Magic in order to use it, and they have to be careful not to be seen while they attempt to save not only Sirius' life, but Buckbeaks as well.
They are successful in doing both, and Buckbeak as well as Sirius are able to escape before the dementors appear to perform their deadly kiss on him. The year ends with Harry hoping to go and live with his godfather, leaving the Dursley's behind forever.
