i need to sleep but just wanted to say smth so i'll say that i actually love the legacy virus as a plot device in the 90s. it's a way to bid farewell to old and new mutant villains alike, and it's a new type of challenge for the X-Men. I really like the fact that they can't punch their way out of this problem. I like the fact that the price paid and the deaths by the virus have weight. it's a problem that unlike most problems in comics, actually feels like a problem. it gives space for goodbyes, but it's inevtiable. it makes for such good, emotional, human stories in the 90s era of big battles and superhuman bullshit.
