It doesn't matter how good Double thinks he is at hiding- Ray can read thoughts. Sure there's probably a maximum distance, but it's not like the guy is keeping you in the earth's core. What else is Ray going to do other than sweep entire cities until he hears you mentally bitching about Double for the umpteenth time?

It's even worse in the Haley ending because Double can at least teleport you away to put some distance between you and Ray (though, let's be serious; he would absolutely throw you at Binary Star like a feral cat to buy himself time to escape). If Ray shows up- and he WILL show up, let's not delude ourselves- what is Haley going to do? Even assuming they can turn into literally any animal they want, what's a hippo or tiger going to do against lasers that can melt diamonds? Die, that's what. And the fact that the MC isn't even thinking about Ray in that ending just shows how utterly divorced from reality they are- at least in the Double ending, seeing Ray's face everywhere makes them paranoid. If he showed up in the Haley ending, MC would probably say something like "what's your name again? I wanna say... Roy?"

And as for the alien invasion, it would be so funny if, while it's happening, Ray does nothing and while the people are begging him to save them, he interrupts a presidential address as Binary Star and directly addresses the MC. Like, their full name and everything on live tv. "MC. I know you're watching this. And I'm here to tell you- you, specifically- that I'm not doing jack shit until you come back to me. That's all it would take to end this. The blood of every man, woman and child that dies in this invasion is on your hands until you come home. Make your choice, Star."

What do you think Laura Lee and Lottie’s relationship was like pre cash? I think Lottie kinda finds Laura Lee irritating when she interrupted LL at the party when Jackie was trying to mediate the group after that almost cat fight between Van and Shauna. Although during the plane crash, they were holding each other. I do think Lottie wasn’t particularly close with anyone though pre cash. I headcanon her as having social life but it’s all surface level friendship. What do you think?

okay so! yes, Lottie says "Oh my God" a little exasperated when Laura Lee keeps telling everyone they're beautiful in the eyes of the lord lol (please forgive her, that's her best attempt at flirting) but i love being delusional and i'll say it was fond exasperation! besides, let's also look at when most girls yelled "shut the fuck up Laura Lee" and Lottie didn't! (and Van, (i also keep pushing the Van and Laura Lee best friends agenda)) so I don't think she finds her irritating or annoying or doesn't like her. but well they're teenage girls and when even your best friends do something annoying, That thing is annoying, but you still like them

that being said! i agree with you. and i think both actors for Lottie and Laura Lee have talked about picturing their characters as a little lonely. exactly what you said, friends with the team but at surface level. so, canonically, no they probably weren't very close. but!! i'm choosing to believe they were at least a liittlleee closer than with most of the other girls, OR at least got along pretty well and were both aware of this

i say this based on very small details but isn't that what friendship's about? i mean, they weren't strangers to each other, look:

Laura Lee was enthusiastically in on the "Thank you Mr Matthews" joke. you have to be at least a somewhat good friends with someone to joke so much about their parents dont you

*I* think it looked like they purposefully sat close to each other on the plane. no one was as close as jackieshauna to sit fully next to each other. but this was the closest thing. to me it looks like laura lee chose her seat first, and lottie followed, so she obviously wasn't avoiding her. and with the way laura lee moved, to me it looks like she was about to kneel on her seat to look over the back to talk to lottie!

now, as the plane was falling, sure, everyone panicked, they were desperate, but i think it's kinda obvious to like. curl up and protect yourself, right? and laura lee was busy praying, you'd think she'd do that the entire time. but no! they reach out for each other. nearly fall from their seats just to reach each other and desperately hold on. you don't do that with just any classmate and teammate. you don't get ready to die holding hands with a girl you just tolerated you know? that seems at least a little bit personal to me

when laura lee finds coach martinez on the tree and lottie is the one to pull her back, i dont know about you but that was a very intimate hold. or at least i'm saying they have hugged before and there is a level of familiarity between them

I decided I was just going to post random scraps I like to write on my notes app. I actually get these ideas by spinning different roulettes; with character tropes, sceneries, and traits! also randomly picking the fandom and character I'm writing these about.

all of my work is going to be character x reader. I don't really specify the readers gender in this one even if i did base it around a female one, so be comfortable with whatever.

The countless documents getting all dusty and old on the shelves of the office are a constant reminder of what this job feels like; old and crusty.

I know it's not different from what I like to do; sitting in front of a screen all day, except this is more of a.. monotonely tiring and dull activity, which I'd like to separate from the fun late nights I wrap myself into when I'm streaming in my dear online platforms. You see, I find absolutely no pleasure in the minimum wage that document filling brings to my life. I have no idea why I keep myself in this enclosed -and weirdly odorless space- when my streaming hobby has a better financial reward anyway.

but oh, I just lied. I know why I do.

It's all thanks to the captivating and amusingly elegant co-worker I have. Nanami Kento, aren't you such a delight for these lazy eyes?

Poised and tactful, but even more courteous than any man I've met before. We've spoken a few times, not that I'm great at chatting - oh god, not at all! - but I think he's caught my seek of belonging in this office.

it's not insane that I, as a human being, want to socialize outside of my twitch chat and discord groups to make some desperately needed friends, or even partners for life; it's just a little hard, yet respectful men like him try and surprisingly give me some space.

Keyboards clicking, coffee mugs cluttered on desks, and small chatter fill the office—a far cry from the sleek, professional vibe they sold me on when I took the job. It’s just another stereotypical sad workplace.

-"..Suguru asks if you're done already." a low but strangely gentle tone behind me caught my attention. I look up, and meet some hazel nutty eyes.. they don't look much different than my own; sloppy and baggy, but I manage to get lost in them for a second more than I should.

I snap out of it and shake my head slightly as I let out a sigh.. closing my eyes for a second. I remember the papers due.. today. Right. I shouldn't forget Suguru gets along very very well with formality. Another thing to keep in mind, as if the higher-ups don't have weird rules to follow already. I truly am done with this job.

-"right, Suguru and his.. goddamn papers." I'm trying not to look like a mess right now, and more job-focussed in front of such a man. But the childish cat background on my computer doesn't help. "please tell him that uhm-.. Satoru messed with the computers again or something.." I’m pretty sure Suguru will believe anything bad about Satoru—he loves thinking that idiot is an actual idiot. But a gut feeling tells me it's more than that-.. anyways.

I dont really say anything else, holding my cofee mug and taking a sip.

Nanami does help me around, I bring him some coffee myself eventually - while I try to ignore nasty looks other co-workers give. as immature and juvenile as that feels for a workspace.

a second of a slightly long silence holds between us. -"I expected this," Nanami's usual stern face doesn't budge. Yeah, he's kind, but professional - I'm constantly messing up my work, and this leaves me more than embarrassed. "I already told Suguru something happened. Don't.. stress yourself out." I think his tone hesitated a little there; that last part wasn't like usual.

I choked on the coffee. Watching him turn away- stealing just the smallest glance in an expression that leaves me with nothing to analyze -and step to his desk. Just four words that just felt weirdly intimate in a way I can't seem to explain.

okay i have to say i hate emily. shes a bitch and i hate what she did to jamie and gray but i cant deny her character is so fascinating. shes literally like if greed was a person?

dont get me wrong as much as i hate her i understand the whole risk taking thing and wanting those experiences she never got to have BUT saying that she didnt need two boyfriends??? she literally could have experienced all the same things she did with one. thats why shes greed. she just took and took everything. from both of them and rebecca too.

but i just dont understand why she had such an effect on everyone? like avery describes her as pretty but she also said she was nowhere near as beautiful as rebecca. is it because she was sick and everyone felt bad? but like even then i cant imagine emily being a pleasant person to be around so i dont get how she made friends with anyone let alone dated two people 😭 but that could also be because we never met her? like we don't really know anything about her which is also really interesting to me. we know of her but that's only everyone's versions of her.

on a different note i keep thinking about the way jamie and gray had different feelings for her. like i just think that while jamie did love her but he didnt love her, you know? gray did. i assume thats why jamie wasnt as affected by eve, he didnt love emily the same way gray did.

jamie feels that way for avery so while eves appearance surely shocked him it still didnt take over and bring up old feelings (for a completely new person lmao)

(i also do know that he knew about eve before but theres still something different between hearing things and seeing them)

jamie and avery are perfect for each other but thats a different thought too. i'm so glad they never really fought because of eve (thank god, i would have cried)

but back on topic, i doubt emily loved them back. like, i feel like its the sort of situation where she just wanted to feel wanted. she probably mistook that for love and assumed she wanted both of them? but its all she ever had growing up too? familiarity? like its suggested that her parents were completely focused on her their whole lives and loved her (she was their miracle baby sort of though so i do kinda get that) but also like i wholeheartedly believe everything starts with the parents.

they were such a big influence in her life, they gave her everything, sacrificed everyone and everything for her and kept her happy. this comes back to the greed thing too. they gave her this idea that everything would bend to her will and she would always get what she wanted. (if you can't tell i have strong feelings about the influence parents have and how they raise their children cus it literally dictates someones whole life until they have clarity smh)

i think the whole jumping off the cliff thing too was like her acting out. she reminds me of gray in that way, she was losing control and she needed to do something she wanted to regain it. she knew she couldnt handle it but she couldnt handle not getting what she wanted more. idk if that makes sense but shes like trying to prove to herself and everyone else that she was fine with jamie breaking things off, that she could handle not being wanted and adored regardless of her actions and she was losing control of everything ig? idk i just think its really interesting the way she took things to an extreme because i imagine she was probably trying to do something else, something worse than what she feeling to get it to go away? emotions are so interesting in that way.

like rebecca (in her mind) was turning against her, jamie was leaving her and her parents would have stopped her from going with gray if they had known and at the time that was (hinted at) being what she really wanted to do and they were all telling her no. she took the only thing she had left to control (gray) and was trying to prove she was fine.

i cant put into words how many layers all of these characters have like jlb wrote such a wonderful series and i cant stop thinking about all the characters. i have so many thoughts running through my head and i could write a take on everyone ☹️

I was gonna answer this way earlier but after watching the trailer a bit of my original answer had changed, oh boy get ready!!! sorry if some part doesnt make sense, this is literally just word vomit

I'm not quite sure whether Pickle fully moved on from what happened, cause if I remember correctly, Brain confirmed in a tweet that Pickle was depressed and also he refuses to read the letters Taco sent him I'm pretty sure. That being said, he could've been doing far better off now but I DONT KNOW HONESTLY!!! Like I know he's a chill guy but it's hard to predict his reaction to her apology.. cause like, Taco was just EVIL to him - If she were to apologize to him, he might believe that she was tricking him again. It wasn't personal for her but it was for him. I get that he might not forgive her, but I do hope he accepts her apology in some ways. I'm also predicting that he could be the first person she apologize to just cause like.. They haven't seen each other in a long time and so the tension isn't that deadly??? and Taco is probably under the impression that he did read the letters she sent him but yeah

As for Mic, LETME TELL YOU I'M ABSOLUTELY MENTAL OVER THIS!!!!! I spend my free time imagining the different way this will go down AND NONE OF THEM SEEMS RIGHT I TELL YOU!!!! i feel like Mic is just an extremely scary hurdle to get over because of the stuff that happened recently. seeing how it was implied that Taco died from stress cause she thought Mic was coming makes me extremely worried that she wouldn't even have the guts to meet Mic face to face - having the possibility of her COMPLETELY messing the apology up. but the thing is, I don't think Mic is necessarily mad at Taco, she was just done with everything and cutting ties for her own good. If Taco were to appear back in her life out of nowhere I'm assuming that Mic will just be extremely uncomfortable, but I also believe that she would want to hear Taco apologise. The difference between Mic and Pickle is that, Mic had the additional context of who Taco really is - They saw her vulnerable side, albeit rarely, but Mic clearly knew Taco was struggling with something and wanted her to open up more (e.g. them asking her why she reached for the portal in hatching the plan) I'm hoping to GOD that Mic can see that Taco is being genuine if she were to apologise or talk about stuff, and I reallyreallyreally hope she listens but like. this is such a thin line to walk and I can see it going really badlyGAH quick thing but I'm assuming that Mepad will be accompanying Taco in whatever her next step is (like yeah did you really expect her to do this alone CMON) i'm just curious on whether he'll be there when she's apologizing to Mic & Pickle. like would he stand there in the corner of the room like an emotional support dog. regardless, I think Mepad being there is a game changer cause he's a generally trustworthy fellow, and he can CONVINCE Mic & Pickle that Taco is actually sorry. this is just my theory don't mind me lalalalala

HI ANON i hope you dont mind that i kept this in my askbox for a couple days because I hadn't watched it yet (wanted to make sure I was No Longer Sick, because being sick in the cinema is Not Great) and also technically it hasn't released here yet,,,? BUT apparently they've got advance preview weekends for like. the same price so Obviously I went.

Edit: If you've been following me for any amount of time, you know that when I say this got long, you really do have to believe me on that.

My mom liked it as well???? She came with me because I didn't want to subject any of my irl friends to my tf rambling and she didn't want me to go alone fbfkfbkd I thought she wouldn't, but SHE LIKED IT.

Okay so first off: going into the theatre, I was so so afraid that I was going to have the same thought I had after watching Puss and Boots: The First Wish, which was- "I REALLY liked that, and it would have been one of my favorite movies if I was still a child." (Still a really good movie!!)

BUT I DIDN'T HAVE THAT. I JUST REALLY LOVE THE MOVIE FULL STOP.

Anyway, onto my wild rambling.

The visuals were superb!! Gorgeous. No notes. Freaking amazing animation and character design and world design !!!!! I'LL COME BACK TO THAT I COULD YELL FOREVER ABT WORLDBUILDING. The characterisation is so so good, so tasty.

Also because I'm a huge honkin nerd...

The movie is largely focused on the dynamic between Orion Pax/Optimus Prime and D-16/Megatron, but the other characters also shine through really well, and they show off a lot personality even with the ones with very few scenes. Elita-One is a fucking delight I wanna kiss her!!!!!!! She's so cool and pragmatic and it SHOWS in what she does and how she acts. She IS better than you, and she knows it. Even Starscreams confident yet cowardly nature is shown with him lounging on a throne and slinking off after his fight with D-16, and he's barely there!!! RAHAGGHHH I love what you can do with characterisation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also my god this movie was funny. Even when the pacing is fast it's a GOOD fast. Comedic moments are used really well in this, and it flips smoothly between that and the more serious and heartfelt bits.

AND HRHFJFJDK okay so maybe its just my sense of humor, but I found Bee to be really really really funny. He's just like me for real!!! Talks too much, excited as HELL about everything!!!!!!!!! HE'S JUST LIKE ME. I also told my mom this and she was like. "Yes! He is jist like you!! He talks a lot. You would do the knife-hands thing. Also, you're wearing yellow." And. I was. I am. hrhfjfjfkkghdk 💛💛 Shockwave in this movie is ALSO very funny. He gets punched <3 Many other characters also get punched, but he complains about it. He reminds me somewhat of TF Animated Shockwave but less intimidating sgdjfbdjfbdmfbmd

Speaking of characters... Airachnid was so pretty. I love her design so much!!!! She's alien and COOL and I love her!!!!! She has so many eyes... (I'd ALSO love to know more about what her deal is. But... her lack of a motive/story is made up infinitely by strong screen presence and personality) Sentinel was ALSO very pretty and I loved seeing him on screen but I (spoilers) loved seeing him get ripped in half more. Those were LOVELY shots.

I brought my mini Soundwave along with me!! I liked Soundwave in the movie even if he didn't play a big part <33 The "there sure are a lot of waves" joke was VERY funny because I had the exact same thought moments before.

There are a LOT of cameos in the film and I kept going "AHHHHH [CHARACTER]". I get why they didn't add more as main characters- there were a loooooot of characters running around already, and only 2 hours!! Even so, I still wish we saw more of the other characters that cameoed (JAZZ!!!!!! MY BOYYYY!! I WAS SO SCARED THEY'D KILL HIM OFF) or had minor appearances because I just. I want to know what they'd do with the characterisation........ but that's what fanfic for for ig ehfjfhdk,,

And on the topic of lovely shots, theres a series of scenes near the end of the movie with no dialogue, only music and sound and. It's SO good. It's so impactful and beautiful and ausuaiaiurhrgh...

The whole movie is inherently sort of a tragedy since it's a prequel. We all know how it ends; what these characters become. But the build up to that is so SO good. I loved the character progression- D-16'S PROGRESSION TO BECOMING MEGATRON IS!!! AHHHHH!! I loved seeing him shift from one perspective to another and they made it believable.

His anger and betrayal giving way to violence- there's this one bit shortly after they are given the ability to transform where you See that violence in D-16 fir the first time, and it's shot so starkly in comparison to the other characters (who also fight to get away) and it's just like. Oh. There's the potential for something dangerous there.

It is so so interesting to me to see how that violence is framed in comparison to the others- all three of the other protags have their moments of violence- Elita-One is very very intimidating and used violence/threats to get her way, and Bee has this lightheartedness/innocence to his violence... Orion Pax is just. he's doing what needs to be done, he takes no joy from the destruction- he's fighting back, but I think most importantly all of them know when to stop.

There are the fights and punches that get thrown around, and then there is D-16 wailing on Starscream. Megatron RIPPING SENTINEL IN HALF. God that scene was good.

Anyway, sometimes in media a character goes through a Big Event that changes or breaks them, but here? There is no breaking point for D-16/Megatron. It's a slow spiralling descent and you see him taking one step after another, deciding to continue down this path. This is shown in a more literal way with his eyes slowly changing colour through the movie (fucking SICK SHOTS!!!!!!!) but there are a dozen more moments where you can see him decide who he is becoming.

IT WAS REALLY GOOD, I LOVE SHIT LIKE THAT.

And as audience!! Though we know this change is inevitable!! (This is an event in the past- the end of this is already written!!!) It's still tragic!! I feel for him!! I want him to keep getting back up in the face of Sentinel's cruelty!!!!!!!!!!

Orion watching his friend change, seeing them grow further apart... and he still hangs onto that hope right up until the end (and even after that!!!!!! He banishes him, because he will not kill him!!)

imo, they did Orion Pax/Optimus Prime really well in this one- he gets into a lot of trouble and it somehow works out. I think they do really well in making him feel down to earth in this- he's punchy and dynamic and has this unwavering respect for the people around him, but he's also good at being tricky and manipulative to get interesting outcomes that nobody else could have considered- he knows how people tick on an individual level and he knows how to use that. He thinks differently, and it's fantastic. Most importantly, Orion can see something nobody else can: a world where things are better.

Orion becoming Optimus... ough. aough. It's so!!!!!! AHHH. I loved all of the sequences that follow after. When his signature axe made an appearance I was so excited it was REALLY COOL. ALL OF IT WAS SO COOL.

The fight choreography is FANTASTIC and while it was a little messy at times (so much... going on........) it was fluid and dynamic and mwah mwah mwah I love it.

ALSO I SAID I'D YELL ABOUT WORLDBUILDING but this is really really long already so like. I'll keep it short as I can

The glimpses of the society that exists is FASCINATING to me. We don't get to see much of it, because our main characters are purely of the lower classes, so what's available to us is quite limited, but the class structure is INTERESTING to me. Unlike IDW, where form dictates function, this universe is driven (ha. ha.) on the idea that some Cybertronians can't transform (and thus work in the lower classes, as miners and waste management etc.) but as it turns out, (spoilers) they actually get their transformation cogs removed before they come online. And like... I can't help but wonder how they pick who gets that treatment?? Luck???? I'm dying to know.

ALSO I really like the Quintessons (sad they're not the the horrible five faced creature things. I wanna see the Weirdos!!!!) but I still think these fuck hard. They're really buggy and organic and cool (I adore their ship designs holy shiiiiiiiiit- just yesterday I was admiring all the bugs and monsters and crabby things in Guild Wars 2, and now THIS?? BLESSED.) And the CYBERTRONIAN DEER ARE COOL!!!!!!!!!! I like them. That's all. I wished we got to see more of the bio-mechanical parts of the planet...

AND AND THE PLANET ITSELF HOLY SHIT AHHHHHH!!!!! The city is gorgeous- the spires going up and down is mwah amazing. The roads and rails appearing/disappearing as they are used? PEAK. The MINES and the surface of Cybertron. They're shifting, moving, alive. I legit was staring slackjawed when they were in the mines- it's just SO COOL to watch!!!

I SEE YOU. snow and regina are so peak. a lot of people forget that the show is BUILT ON THEIR STORY and i love their complex relationship. fanon makes snow this naive and stupid girl unaware of regina's bitterness and sarcasm. NO?? snow throws it right back. they are having the most sarcastic and "i hate you" "no you dont <3" conversations ever but the moment someone else hates on them they're jumping to defend eachother. i hate that snow is written as innocent and stupid when shes NOT and she definitely does have her moments where shes a bit unaware but shes NOT STUPID SHES NOTTTT i love her. snow is NOT a baby she KNOWS things she KNOWS oh my god im rabid. you get me tho.

Snow definitely isn't stupid even as a child, I agree! It's a shame that fanon writes her that way. But uh...she is naïve, and I wouldn't say she's super aware of Regina's bitterness/sarcasm. Maybe sometimes, and admittedly it's been a while since I saw OUAT so feel free to correct me on this, but I don't remember it being a main feature of their early dynamic that Snow easily caught on to Regina's bitterness towards her. From what I recall, even if Snow was somewhat aware of it (and I'm sure she was, being a child ≠ being stupid/unaware, and I doubt Snow was ever totally oblivious), she didn't catch all of it, and she always believed that Regina loved her more than she actually did (pretty sure it's canon that she didn't know that Regina hated her for Daniel, for example. Which isn't Snow's fault despite what the fandom claims, but Regina knows that deep-down, even if the fandom doesn't). It's when she got older, especially after her father died, that Regina stopped pretending.

Mind you, I'm also very much of the opinion that Regina never stopped loving Snow no matter what, despite all the bitterness/sarcasm...that Regina loved Snow more than she would ever admit to herself. And if Snow caught on to the bitterness, then...maybe she'd catch that too, but I think that would be more coincidental than Snow actually knowing Regina's true feelings. Snow is, after all, still a kid when things are marginally good between them.

When opla was announced I was guarded, but trailers and learning that Oda would have first and last word about everything made me hopeful.

But I knew that live action are never for the actual die hard fans.

Too much need to be cut because of time, as real actors cant look like they only age two years for 26 years, and some cartoon stuff doesnt translate well to live action *cough* garps fist of love *cough*

So I was able to convince my friend to watch opla with me.

She had read the manga when she was little, up to syrup village, so she was excited to see Kuro because she actually liked him back when she read it.

I was mostly there just to observe my friends reaction to it instead.

My favorite moment was watching her freak out after the "grandpa?" reveal.

I dont like that Garp was included that early on, I didnt mind him being there at rogers execution. But more than that seemed too much. I watched some Netflix guy explaining that they wanted to add a reason why the strawhat had to keep moving from island to island, but no marine would do because who would bother chasing a pirate crew with no bounty. I understand that reasoning. Still dont like it, but I understand.

But my friends reaction made it all better.

I'm truly glad you liked it anon and I do understand the excitement that came with it, but I honestly could not stand it. Nearly every scene and every line was like "Sanji wouldn't say that. Nami wouldn't do that. Why is this happening? Luffy definitely wouldn't say that."

An adaptation must adapt to its medium, true, but that is not what this did. This was an insanely loose reinterpretation that took so much charm away for me. I've talked about it on this Tumblr tons now but I've finally had the time to watch through all of it now that the hype's died down, and it just made me angrier per episode?

They had to shorten things down, but they included so many new scenes that added nothing? They had to explain the Strawhats going from island to island... WHY? They literally had a spine to go off, the original property had them going from island to island to find a crew and get to the grand line. That's literally a very solid reason. WHY did they need any marines chasing them? It just sounded like an excuse to add a fan favourite character so the Garp fans could scream about it.

And I've said this many times, but Oda being part of the process genuinely means nothing to me. Netflix infamously do not listen to their creators, and not only did they admit Oda HATED the Garp addition and they STILL added him, you can tell so much of his original vision was thrown aside for non-anime fan audience convenience. Usopp and Sanji felt like side characters for god's sake, Buggy felt comically evil for a LIVE ACTION, Mihawk's fight was literally so empty due to the fact no one was THERE? NAMI was the one who yelled she believes in Zoro and they'll always be friends??

I truly do not believe Oda would agree to most of that, and considering we know he was ignored for Garp, we know for sure he was definitely ignored for many other things.

As always, if you loved it, great! I'm glad the excitement was met. Maybe I'm cynical, maybe it's not to my tastes, but it screams Netflix cash cow to me and the whole time I watched it I thought "This is not One Piece at all."

As a reinterpretation? Great!

As an adaptation? It failed miserably. None of the characters felt like themselves and the additional scenes were so nothing. Sorry for the sour reply anon but for those on here who know, I indeed have a sore spot for that entire production.

I honestly think a lot of people got blinded by the pretty actors and the millions of dollars that went into production and promotion to really look at it for what it was trying to be.

ok here it goes! keep in mind that this has just existed in my head off and on, and not for very long lol!

so, i love the guardians are a family and Jack is the son trope lol, so that's what I based this on.

Set in Berk times

Jack is a fairly young Frost Giant and I'm not really sure yet how he meets the guardians but they're really close

the Guardians are pretty prominent figures in Berk, not visiting all that often, but after Berk became accepting of Dragons they've had an awareness and respect for the Guardians (they're kind of like spirits in this if that makes sense)

the main plot point that I would love to write for a fic is Berk stuck in a very long and harsh winter that keeps going on long past it should.

Berk calls the Guardians because they believe it's spirit related (they haven't met Jack yet)

Jack has been missing and the Guardians have been looking for him so they haven't been back to Berk in a few years

when the Guardians make it to Berk the sense Jack's presence (magically idk lol 😅)

Jack's been put to a coma like sleep under the ocean surrounding Berk (he's hugeeee compared to Berk rn so he fully surrounds it curled up)

Because he's a Frost Giant he's so cold that he was accidentally causing a permawinter in Berk

The Guardians manage to wake him up and he slowly and sleepily rises out of the ocean to face all of Berk and the Guardians

I've had this imagery of water raining off him cause he's so huge, but also so cold so it freezes on him and breaks off when he moves

The Guardians tell Jack that Pitch was the one to imprison him (more magic i haven't figured out lol, also don't know how he does it 😭)

Jack gets angry and tries to stand but can't so he reaches over, rips a tree out of the ground and uses his remaining energy to grow it into a new staff (the movie in my head makes this look so cool and awesome trust me)

he stands, almost falls and has to shrink down where the Guardians catch him and Berk offers them a place to stay while they figure things out

obviously there's Hiccup x Jack lol

That sounds awesome and the imagery of Gigantor Jack rising out of the water with icicles forming and breaking off him is stunning. I too have a movie-maker in my brain lol. Also the tree becoming a staff is super cool.

I always imagined the Guardians being these distant god-like figures that the villagers in Berk see similar to how we understand viking era folks relationships with their gods/figures of magic. Them forming a relationship with these larger-than-life [sometimes literally] beings would be really cool to explore! Coming to know these figures they've been arguing over being superstition or not *are in fact real* and are *so very human* when they drop their mighty facade; and later forming interpersonal relationships and general Berk-Guardian deals.

I imagine North to be the frost giant father figure when he meets Jack, kinda taking him under his wing as a young frost giant who keeps getting knocked down by far more ancient creatures like pitch. He's been around a while and chills in Jotunheim most of the time, having basically the = of his workshop situated there. But the Berkians see him as a bit of a protective winter diety, one who brings 'gifts' in the middle of the harshest season; wildlife to hunt, winter berries and hearty crops that can survive the frost, etc. They'd probably find some stashed goods they forgot about and attribute it to North gifting it to them, which may be true. A lot of random items ppl dont remember having, but have thought about needing, seem to turn up in their homes throughout December.

Bunny would be a spring forest fey-creature type figure, known to paint the colors into nature in the spring. Maybe they start finding painted dragon eggs around and a yearly hunt starts up as a game between them and the illusive harmless trickster creature. Soon they start painting their own dragon eggs around hatching season, in his honor, and as a bit of a decoration. If youre gonna have dragon eggs all over berk anyways, why not make em pretty? He's also a protector figure, thought to keep dangerous creatures away from the town and people. Maybe even a helper to the lost; leaving a little trail of colorful eggs along the path back to town when kids wander off and get disoriented in the thick woods.

Haven't thought too much about Tooth and Sandy tbh cause I'm not entirely sure how to reform them into a bit more... unfamiliar and creepy but ultimately beneficial diety/folkloric figures. Tooth would be a human-sized fairy, ofc, and have smth to do with teeth and deals made with said teeth, but I'm not sure beyond that. Maybe shes a symbol of wealth and growth, as well as memory and retaining knowledge from your youth to inform your future. And ofc Sandy still has to do with dreams and sand, but I'm not sure how the Berkians would worship him yet. What kind of offerings they'd give in exchange for dreams or a good night's rest. Maybe he works with oracles/seers to give them visions in their dreams; omens good and bad alike, of past, present, maybe future. Perhaps he works primarily with Gothi and her practice revolves around divination and wisdom, with Sandy as a bit of a guide and source of knowledge.

Idk you've got me thinking about their relationships with the Berkians and how that relationship impacts their everyday life and religious practices. I love it!

Plus itward just seems to be the type to be as self sufficient as possible, doesn't tend to buy things unless it's something he truly cant produce on his own..

i dont think anyone has laid out exactly what irks me about vegans so successfully

they really are bleeding hearts- i recently got told off for enslaving animals because I have chickens, something I know for a fact they had to go digging for because I sure didn't mention that in the conversation. I'm not even a proper farmer, I don't turn a profit off of my chickens, they're really just pets that come with the bonus of eggs and learning the circle of life at an early age. It just seems to me that the loud angry vegan crowd can't tell the difference between genuinely horrifying and unethical factory farms vs. any group of humans who happen to farm free range animals.

I also believe it stems from the fact that as a society there's an unwillingness to accept that humans are animals and not some great overlooking gods in comparison to animals.

Yeah and the amount of vegans I've seen claim we don't give a fuck about our stock is insane! You know how much a SINGLE bullock is worth? Fuck me! We do everything we can for them not just because THEY ARE LIVING CASH but also because we DO genuinely like our stock! We like being with them!

"Waaaah Australian sheep farmers mules their sheep" yeah we do it so they don't fucken DIE of flystrike! But none of these cunts know what flystrike is cuz they don't actually know anything about fucking agriculture. Ough.

Free-range farming for cattle especially is stupid to argue against since we USED to have bison in the US until they were almost driven to extinction to kill off the Natives. SOMETHING has to continue that economic niche and until bison populations return to what they were pre-genocide, cattle should fill that void. And they do.

Same thing with Australia—we graze cattle on open land, not keep them cooped up in factories. I think too many people confuse factory farms as beef when in reality they're dairy, and most are pretty good. BAD factory farms (see: unethical conditions) are usually poultry (chickens, turkey, quail) fowl (duck, geese) and pigs. I've genuinely never seen pigs in a commercial production that had proper space or range to do pig things.

But that's easily remedied—if you're in the US, buy a rifle and hunt the pigs yourself, because feral pigs are fucking everywhere and ruining the ecosystem. That or buy your pork from your local non-factory farm. If enough people do it, the factories will start shutting down. If you're in Australia, get a hunting and firearms licence and do the same, or if you don't wanna bother with that, buy your meat locally or tip your local pig shooter and maybe he'll give you some meat as a gift (legally we can't sell feral pig meat).

All of these are easily solved by just buying local, doing the hunting yourself, or advocating for better conditions for commercial animals. Not convincing people to go vegan, because for most of the world who isn't a privileged little shit living in a big city on daddy's money, veganism is entirely unsustainable and unaffordable.
