I have issues with the lineage of King Yaois. Unless twitter has led me astray once again (which is entirely possible) the Yaoi lineage is Yoo Joonghyuk from ORV, Cheng Xiaoshi from Link Click, and Ivan from Alien Stage.

And I get making Cheng Xiaoshi King Yaoi the second bc the pattern is kinda alrdy longish dark hair, dark eyes.

BUT I THINK LU GUANG SHOULD BE KING YAOI THE SECOND. MF DID NOT FUCK UP THE TIMELINE AN UNSPECIFIED AMOUNT OF TIMES AND CHEAT DEATH JUST TO BE KNOWN AS KING-CONSORT. YJH DID THE EXACT SAME THING BUT U DON'T SEE KDJ IN THIS LINEUP.

i don’t think it’s unreasonable to suggest that 10 or 12 are the best Doctors of the nu-Who era, but neither of them are my favourite and it sucks because they seem to be all anyone talks about

11 is my favourite Doctor. how can this be despite Moffat’s one-handed writing and the hero-worship and the weird arc structures and all of 11’s other flaws, you may ask? simple. i literally do not care.

11’s moments and victories and speeches are tacky and cheesy and cliché and i love it deep within my soul. Matt Smith carries off the youthful exuberance of 10 and the age and gravitas of 12 at different times and flips between them so naturally and it’s just. wonderful.

and just because 11 is flawed does not mean that other Doctors must be perfect by comparison: 12 is a major asshole to Clara for no reason throughout all of S8 and his constant flip-flopping on whether he has the right to make decisions for humanity is real frustrating. 10 treats Martha (and arguably Jack) horribly, and the Time Lord Victorious thing falls flat on its ass sometimes

and just so everyone feels included, 13 has the personality of one person split across four and it is AGONISING to watch and 9… actually 9 is pretty close to perfect, but having only one season doesn’t leave tons of wiggle room for bad writing to set in.

back to 11 real quick - i know some people have a vehement dislike for moffat’s style of writing being overly poetic and fairytale, but i’ll be honest in saying that i love that stuff for Dr Who. this is a show about a madman with a box that can travel in time and space. we can have fantastical narratives. yes, characters should probably be more affected by events involved and yes, some of the companions should probably have just died instead of being brought back constantly and yes, sometimes a story happens just for the sake of being cool but also i literally do Not Give A Single Fuck about that. the doctor openly admits that paradoxes happen and that shit resolves itself, and when time itself is unraveling that sort of thing is bound to be more likely to occur. can you tell i like the Big Bang?

I stand firmly that it should not have been cut for SO MANY reasons.

1. The flow of the scene without it is god awful. Like, even if you had never seen the movie with the song you can tell it’s missing something. Like, one second she’s like you loved me once but now you’re greedy humph :/ and then it just goes straight to Gonzo and Rizzo crying? It’s just- huh?!?!

2. The whole sweet wholesome ending? With Scrooge and Tim singing together? ITS A REPRISE! OF THAT SONG?! AND CUTTING IT TAKES OUT THE HIT OF THE MOMENT!!! Like, that’s the solidification of “oh shit he’s completely reformed, like this is his character arc, he’s made a full 180. Damn.” ITS HIS MOMENT OF SAYING THAT PAST WAS SHIT BUT I NEED TO LIVE IN THE HERE AND NOW AND BE HAPPY WITH THOSE I HAVE INSTEAD OF MOURNING THOSE IVE LOST!!! THE WHOLE POINT OF HIS CHARACTER?!?!?!

3. That was Scrooge realizing he was truly in the wrong? I can fully see him being like, yeah, no, she was the crazy one. She just left me for no reason?! And that was his moment of realizing that he was the one in the wrong! It was his time to look from an outside perspective! It was his moment of realizing okay, here’s some of why I hate Christmas, now let’s look at why I shouldn’t, etc etc. Not to mention Michael Caine did SUCH a good job portraying that moment of connection!!! Yo cut that is just- AHSKSJK NO?!?!

Again, I am one who fast forwards through it, my whole family does. But that’s because the scene is too long! That’s my only complaint!

My solution? Just cut parts! Don’t cut the whole song, just take bits out so the song is shorter and it doesn’t screw up the ENTIRE SCENE?! (Don’t get me wrong I know that is way easier said than done, trust me)

I’m sure everyone ever has already done this rant and said all of this, but I had to express my agony at this. Anyway have a nice day :]
