Kairos (Kai) - Hades

The way I picture Kairos in my mind versus my current art capabilities are not equivalent, so I tend to shy away from making art of Kai. But he's my baby too 😭 imma get there!

Name Meaning: "opportune time" (as a reference to Orpheus not turning around at the right time, but it's okay bc this time they have time 👍🏾)

Astrological Sign: Modern; Taurus/Gemini cusp

Afro-Greek in my Hades!AU, and Black biracial in my Modern AUs (where there's not like an "Earth" as we know it)

Parents: Orpheus and Eurydice

Role: Philia's best friend and platonic soulmate. He grounds Philia, and Philia helps him grow more confident. They're so close that her fathers don't care if he sleeps over or anything. Attached at the hip.

Physical Description: He's got a birthmark on his left jaw, and his nose grows large by the time he's a teenager. His hair tends to be back in an afro puff, and he likes to dye it green. In the Hades!AU, his hair is a bush, because Eurydice's hair is a tree as a dryad- it's a call to him inheriting his mother's 4C texture, and wearing it the same way she does 👍🏾

Kai likes to wear accessories, eyeshadow, and long skirts! You'll often see him with long skirts or really baggy khakis full of deep pockets for him to put everything. And he's got a LOT in his pockets. Art tools, notebooks for art and music, inspirations, cool rocks and leaves he's found, bugs, bug carcasses. He loves bugs.

Kai is deeply loving! He loves his family, he loves his friends, and he loves his creation- singing, playing music, art, fashion. he is a renaissance man when it comes to creation. Apollo would love this kid.

Kairos, like his parents, can sing. I'm talking SANGING singing. he can sing lil indie cute songs, but he could also hit an Aretha gospel note- it's just one of his many things he likes to do. He grew up in a home where that was encouraged! But unlike his parents, Kairos is also very introverted, so being on stage is not... He can do it, but he's not always happy up there. He is an artist for artistry's sake, not for fame.

He is a very shy, sensitive child that grows into a thoughtful, reserved adult. But he's never been a coward- he will say what needs to be said! He is as strong as any tree, with strong moral fiber. It also helps having two best friends that can beat the brakes off of just about anyone for disrespecting you 🤣 Full of love and joy and laughter, when he's with those he loves.

He is not the "jump into the middle of the fight" friend. He is the getaway driver friend. Again, when you got friends that can fight- and one that has to have the last damn word (Calix)- you got to be ready for these things lmao. He'll ride, he'd rather not die. He'll do it, but goddamn.

Kairos exists because I genuinely believe in characters having friends lol. Like even when they're in a romantic setting, there should be someone else in their life that also holds just as much sway. People act like boys and girls can't be friends and it's like... We can though. We don't have to be doing anything else. They can just be friends! And it matters! They're just that comfortable with each other!

Kinda hoping the Lucilith flashback references the way Charlie and Alastor met. So I imagined how the scene would go:

After being scorned for his dreams by his fellow angels, Lucifer flew down to Earth for a reprieve from them and had been enraptured by a sorrowful song, compelling him to find the source of these doleful notes and finds the first woman, Lilith, by her lonesome. She sings of her rebellion, refusing to bend to her destined spouse's will and yearns for her own autonomy and freedom with a saddened cadence.

The seraphim, perched on branches of a nearby tree, resonates with her words and wishes to know more and attempts to talk to her. "Hel-," but before he could fully blurt out his greeting, the branch under him broke and he plummeted to the ground at Lilith's feet, startling her.

Lucifer rights himself up, attempting to quickly recover from such an ungraceful fall and is nearly stunned silent by the beautiful yet suspicious stare of the first woman in front of him. He finishes weakly, "-lo."

She is wary of the angel in front of her, not saying a word in reply so Lucifer tries to diffuse the awkward situation. "Uh, I'm Lucifer Morningstar! One of the archangels who just got shunned by heaven for having wacky ideas, haha... So, I'm uh, taking a little break from their judgemental stares and, uh, may I sit here for a while? I-if that's okay by you?"

Still cautious of the strange being in front of her but slightly charmed by his weirdly adorable mannerisms, she stiffly says, "You may."

(The show would most likely never have their meeting go the nearly same way as their daughter and her hotelier did but it's nice to imagine, considering the show did unintentionally make Lucifer and Lilith have parallels with them.)

I agree that there's far more parallels between Charlie's parents and charlastor than the canon pairing. Charlie and Lucifer are both fairly fantastical, and while we know next to nothing about Lilith I cannot see her having more similarities with vaggie aside from being some sort of grounding force for her partner. And given that their separation likely stems from Lilith being disappointed in how Luci gave up hope on their people rather than try to empower them like she did; I can't see vaggie doing the same for Charlie. We saw in hello Rosie she'd sooner defer to Charlie while knowing she'd wallowing rather than try to do anything on her own. And I feel like I'm in the less vocal camp about this; I don't hate vaggie. I just think she's better matched with literally any other woman in the show rather than the one she has. As of right now post season 1 at least, I'll hold out hope that season 2 does them a bit better but given there's only 8 episodes I doubt it.

This is perhaps partially motivated by spite but since Lucifer still wears his ring; I want Lilith to come back and for those two to be so sickeningly in love that it's nauseating. I want full gomez and morticia vibes from them.

That’s right, folks, Francis Magee aka Victor Rodenmaar Jr. was on Game of Thrones, he played Yoren in S1-S2, a brother of the Night’s Watch and a recruiter for them as well. He made easy friends with Tyrion Lannister, Robb and Ned Stark, and eventually Arya Stark. He got along with Tyrion due to the fact that unlike his comrades, Yoren had a sense of humor. Imagine Victor but cool. And later on *spoilers if you haven’t seen the show*

when Ned’s put in public for execution and Arya managed to escape the Lannister guards, he sees her in the crowd and nods his head to Yoren to try to get her to safety. He does. And he holds her close and shields her ears when her father is executed.

Immediately after he cuts off Arya’s hair and instructs her to pretend to be a boy called Arry for her own safety whilst they travel back to the North. He planned on taking her to her brother Robb who became the current Lord of Winterfell following their father’s death.

Yoren is also the one to give Arya the idea for her infamous ‘list’. Her own hit list of people she’s planning on killing which she recites every night before going to sleep. It becomes so important to her ritual that she can’t even sleep before reciting it completely.

and as for Eugene Simon aka Jerome Clarke? He played Lancel Lannister, a cousin of Cersei, Jaime, and Tyrion Lannister for S1-2, and S5-6.

He originally was just King Robert’s cup bearer and I think he was his squire? Can’t remember fully but I do know that whilst Jaime was out of King’s Landint, Lancel was the one keeping Cersei satisfied if you know what I mean. And yes, they’re cousins, and Cersei fucks her brother Jaime, this isn’t brand new or quite shocking, it’s pretty standard GoT. He’s even involved for killing the king as he kept supplying him with wine and alcohol during a hunt, a boar got to him and he couldn’t drunkenly defend himself.

Then he gets blackmailed by Tyrion for a bit S2 for fucking Cersei. Gets kicked back home too by the end I’m pretty sure. though we get to see him in armor for a bit:

Then comes back on S5 looking like this:

He becomes a very religious zealot as he believes he is ‘redeemed’ in the eyes of their gods, the Seven and he just gets very faith involved, even trying to ask Cersei, the Queen Mother, to absolve her sins by being honest about her incest with him (and her brother). She laughs him off very easily and even tries to use the other followers that the new Septon, the High Sparrow, has accumulated to her own gains by getting rid of her sons new wife, Margaery Tyrell, by having her brother Loras arrested for sleeping with men.

By S6 it gets progressively worse, not only did Cersei get what she wanted, her son’s wife, Margaery, gets taken away as well because she knew her brother was involved with men and ‘did not inform the church of these indiscretions’ so she has also sinned. But then Cersei gets a taste of her own medicine and she gets imprisoned too as Lancel has told the High Sparrow everything and he even gets this fucking carving on his forehead.

Cersei gets her revenge in a big way if you’ve seen the show.
