(Sorry if the terminologies aren’t right im just rambling skhdjsj) (also a lot of them are sieg and elesis aha…)

- Sieghart currently is built like a dancer, lithe and flexible, because of the extra innate godlike strength he got from being a highlander. He doesn’t have to exert as much strength as when he was just a mortal, or like the weight doesn’t affect him that much anymore? Plus, i hc that the highlanders’ style is more elegant and flow-y, compared to the brutishness of the sieghart family’s. When he was younger, around Elesis’ age, he was built more like her. Body builder, bigger muscle kinda look.

- Elesis, as she grows into her late 20’s receives sooooo many “you look just like Sieghart!” Or “you look just like your father!” Comments, but as she grows past 30 and 40, they die down. Because sieghart is stuck in his 30’s, and elscud died (? Disappeared?) in his 40’s.

- sieghart is a jack of all trades, master of none kinda guy.

- Dio and Sieghart have a strange way of being intimate. It isn’t really… intimacy. They don’t do pda, they do something more nothingburger and subtle that it feels more vulgar if you catch them doing it. Its like a game? But not really? Since they’re not trying to hide it either 😭 i don’t know how to describe it. Like the Chase could be in a meeting together and Sieghart/Dio is eating something and one of them goes “blech” and instead of eating the food, they try it from the other’s mouth and then is like “oh ew ur right omg” and then the chase woukd just stare at them.

- dio and sieg are truly, evenly matched in skill. Its a battle of attrition. Though probably sieg has the upper hand since he’s immortal?

- dio’s actually also playboy, just not in mortal sense. He takes up someone every 5 - 10 years, which i hc is the equivalent of changing gfs/bfs every couple of months in demon sense of time. He tries to mean well though, and doesn’t do one night stands.

- sieghart is a one night stand enthusiast. He’s a total flirt too.

- height hc: dio > sieg > zero > ley > grandiel > werner > (noticeable drop) > ryan > lire > jin > rufus > harpe > ronan > asin > lass > edel > rin > elesis > amy > (big drop here) > arme > lime > veigas

- Grandiel finds Sieghart to be the best company. They both understand each other very well, and seamlessly fall into conversation no matter how long its been since they last met.

- that’s why when Sieghart found out who Kyle and Cindy was, it stung a little. But he understood, of course. He holds no grudge against Grandiel.

- Sieghart acts like a safeguard for the Chase. He doesn’t want any of them to go through any of this alone.

- Ley, Rin and Sieghart are besties. Wine date trio.

- Lime and Dio also unexpectedly get along well. They’re optimistic people. Two sides of the same coin.

- Rufus cares about Lass more than he thinks. When Lass gets sick, he most definitely appears and lingers around until he gets better.

overall: i liked the first half better than the second half. first 50% was soooo addicting. i loved the world building and dragons and war college and challenges so much but i’m just not a huge romance person. like the romantic buildup is amazing but afterwards i’m just meh. of course there was the expected tropey/ cliche/ booktok moments BUT most of it was overshadowed by how great the other aspects of the writing was. i dissociated at the end and didn’t really feel attached to violet or xaden or even the dragons (this is a me problem) but i think the ending is great set up for book 2 (will probs give it a read). like u can tell where the book is going but then the author does something unique to make it a little different than other books in this genre, so idk how many surprises book 2 will have. the fact that i read this is in less than 24 hours says a lot though. i hope mira comes back :D

Solomon the Researcher. the card arts is one of my favs (this one's currently my phone wallpaper hehe) and god. the devilgram. 10/10. to summarize it, solomon and mc both stayed late in RAD to finish his research, then after they're both done and have only a few hours left before heading to class, if you chose the option 'i want to kiss you', he will confess that he was actually wanting to hold them that whole time and if he did that earlier he wouldn't have made any progress in his research and then he'll kiss them twice depending on your answer. (i recommend choosing every option in this dg <3)

also, not just in this devilgram but on the others as well, it's implied that he and mc walk home together and i think that's very sweet, considering that they don't even live together and must part ways at some point (or does he drop them off to HoL's doorstep?)

(ramble ramble because in this card the game kinda assumed that mc doesnt wear glasses, hence solomon's comment to mc when they wore the enchanted glasses, he said to them how good they look with one. so what about the mcs who already wears glasses???? lmao anyways i just find that funny)

Up on the Pole! i went back to get this one from the lonely devil. the sheer sexiness of the deflowered version is just 👁️👁️✨👌. who would've thought that this man can do That. his bunny boy outfit also looks really good on him <333. a little summary on the devilgram, he was chosen to do the pole dancing segment, and mc accompanies him while he practices. while he scenes are romantic and all, it's his dialogues that really gets me. assertive? unfiltered? i can't quite pin the exact word to describe it but it's somewhere between those lines

also he gets jealous of a bunny lmao. idk what lesson or card but in the hourly solomon bot in twttr there was a quote saying that he was jealous of a plant. (oh, solomon.)

Dancing With the Petals. ah yiz, the card that got him to the no.1 spot. I was hoping to get barbatos and solomon's card that time but only he came home (on my free pulls too). to summarize the dg, solomon was unsure about his approach in TTWF so when mc confronted him about it, both of them came up with a conclusion to perform a show that combines different dances around the human world. after one of their practices he asked them to be his date for the TTWF, and then on the day of the performance (i think) he picked them up in Hol and dropped by the place where he planted a cherry tree then he'll either give you a ring or a necklace.

the kiss option will lead you to this scene that shot me through the heart 💘💝💖💗💓💞 (the impact of those words??? it means a lot to me for some reason!!!)

honorable mention: A Fanged Feast. including this one because i worked hard to get this card. they weren't kidding when they said the devilgram was suggestive. it def makes up for the lack of kissy scenes. for the summary, mc and solomon were out shopping when they were dragged by mammon to become a part of his team for his vampire-themed cafe. so basically they were assigned to act like vampires and when it's time to practice he dragged them away from the others so they can have a one-on-one training session instead. oh boy i love the little tension build up and then revealing afterwards that the magic he 'casted' was all made up. i also like how you can get two options here, whether you act as the sucker or the suckee

also going to mention the reminder he gave to mc that most conversations with demons are transactions, and it's mostly bout give and take (totally forgot about that)

one thing common about this cards is his boldness, to admit what he wants to do with mc, to make his feelings well-known to them ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 i feel like i only talked about the romantic aspects of the cards but aside from those parts you can see a bit more of his personality (esp. the ones that he only shows when you're around) and lore (there's a bit more lore in the other cards but anyways)

I know it's been weeks since Portals was out, but I can't stop thinking about it and I need to talk about all my fave parts about it and rank the songs. Ok? ok. lets go:

"death is life is death is life..." is everything

I lost a longtime family pet and listening to this was very comforting. I even started tearing up around the pre-chorus

Speaking of which, its the best part of the song! "I DON'T WANNA BE CARRYING THE WEIGHT ON MY SHOULDERS!" Takes me out every time. I feel like my soul is leaving my body.

The music video. OMG the music video! The scene with Crybaby stabbing her old body was fucking amazing!

And I fucking love the part with her detaching herself from her old body. It's just so good I fnadklsfhiosanfiowrsjaiogfrj-

"PLEASE DON'T EVER WORRY, I KNOW IT'S MORBID, BUT WE ALL DIE ONE DAY!" Yeesssss Mel, tell it like it is!!!!

The little high-pitched guitar cords in the verses give me life, I swear they're perfect

It's a shame this one was leaked and around for so long. I never listened to the leak when it came out and I wish more people did too

I love how it's a very erotic song, but the message is how you're more than just your looks

I also turn into such a whore when this comes on istg

The ending where it gets slower is so fucking good and the sound effects and the weird, alien vocals make me so hyped for the next song.

This song is such a vibe

And I love the latin-sounding beat

This song feels like an actual dream. Like it actually feels like something I would dream of

"Lead me away to the faerie soiree" ugh YES

By far the best part has to be the ending where it's just Melanie's vocals

It really gives off the feeling of being disconnected. It's like you're back in the void, but it almost feels more positive

And I like that it implies that Crybaby definitely had a lot more lives before this body

This song feels like a light shower. It feels like when the sun is out and it's lightly sprinkling. My favorite weather

It's just so gentle and calming, different from the songs before this

And since I'm currently taken, this song hits me harder. I even teared up the first few times I heard this

I also kinda like how it sounds like Stairway to Heaven

Plus "You make me want to plan out my last days on earth eating you" is kind of cute. Like Mel's supposed to be a faerie in a fantasy world, so this weird line is very fitting

7.8/10 I don't always want to listen to this one, but when I do, I'm so entranced

SPIDER WEB🕷️🕸️

This song actually tickles my brain

Like it wiggles in and scurries through the wrinkles on my brain and shakes my skull around when the beat comes in

I can't get over it. It just punches my ear drums in all the right places

Besides that, I like the meaning behind it. I think its about social media, but I feel like it could also be interpreted as getting an addiction to substances, like Power

I also kind of like the explanation on what spiders do to their prey at the end

Its slow, but it's so powerful

The way the instruments build up to the chorus is amazing

And I love the imagery we get on Mel getting eaten alive by these leeches

It's not just about having one thing taken away from you, its about yourself getting taken advantage of and I like that the imagery shows that. Not just by describing Mel having her blood drawn, but also her flesh until she's just bones

"I GUESS THAT IS THE LUCK OF THE DRAW!" Is another one of my favorite lines

The transition at the end fucking shakes me to my core every single time. I usually skip it when it comes up cause it's too much

I needed, I repeat, NEEDED a song like this back when I was in elementary school... and middle... and high...

It brings me back to that time in my life where it felt like everyone was out to get me. And I like this message. I wish I heard this song earlier in life

But it's just so perfect. The guitar, the pre-chorus, the metaphors.

When I think I need to intervein in an online fight, or if someone's trying to provoke me, I just think of this song. I'm better than those trying to get a rise out of me

It's just one of those songs that hits the right and wrong places at once

Again, the transition is also great. I love the imagery of the party and how you can't make out what anyone is saying, like a crowd in a dream

My morbid curiosity really wants to know what shocked those people in the room...

10/10 don't battle with my larynx on this one, it's great and you KNOW IT

THE CONTORTIONIST🦴📦🪢

The bone cracking... the bone cracking is intense, and I love it

Mel really gets a kick out of songs that make people uncomfortable and I'm living for it

This always gets me to dance! A lot of these do but mainly this one and Nymphology. I like to dance like my body's contorting in strange ways

again, the pre-chorus (I'm noticing a pattern) is soooooo goooood! The layers really make it stand out from the other songs

And the laugh! I can't forget that laugh, like Mel's really snapping (lol)

It almost reminds me of an Ashnikko song

I'm not gonna lie. I couldn't make this up for the life of me. I loved this song the MOMENT I heard the snippet. Not even kidding

I really wish this song didn't get that much hate. I get why it makes people uncomfortable, but that's the purpose of this song

And, again, I like that Mel isn't afraid to write a song about this

She even mentions period sex in this song and makes it sound so intimate

And I love that she disses her ex in this song, something she does a lot on this album

I love the message about how periods don't make you weak. Not letting a period get you down is so empowering (even though I let it get me down lol)

"Making roooooom for blessings" is so CUTE!

This song is a lot. It's ethereal, it's majestic, it's beautiful, its everything!!!!!!

I feel like I'm listening to a goddess sing and not just cause Mel's on the track

Another great feminist song, mainly about men who objectify women and always think they're (men) right

Oh, and I CANNOT ignore the one lyric "Put your penis into your mouth" That took me out the first time I heard it. I had to stop the song to collect myself

And Amulet... THE AMULET SECTION! It goes so damn hard!

And I love that the lyrics came from an unreleased song called Emerald (my fave unreleased song)

and the way that transitions into Evil. It so good and makes me hyped for the song

This song makes me sad. It almost kind of hurts to listen to, but that's what I like about it

It hurts knowing that people have family and friends who are drug addicts. It makes me think of one of my family members

I like the detail of the deep voice. I know not a lot of people like that but I like it. It's another detail that makes the song stand out, much more than the others

I love the melody, it sounds very carnival esque, like Carousel

I feel like this song is basically a summary of the album as a whole. It seems like it's about transforming into a brand new you and leaving all your burdens behind

The chorus, yes the regular chorus this time, has to be the best part. I like the moments on this album where Mel sounds like she's isolated, or like there's not a lot going on around her and the world seems to slow down

Also, Mel's voice sounds so good. As much as I like the uses of the different voice filters, it's great hearing Mel's regular vocals every once-in-a-while

Ayo I got some top cat head cannons I wanna share because so few people are into it, imma Chuck them over here in hopes you’ll like em!

- Fancy is spoiled rotten and was a mamas boy growing up. He constantly got told how he was handsome by his ma and it went to his head. He does occasionally get humbled though and when he does he goes back to the gang who have to basically hype him back up (and by gang I mean spook specifically). Fancy is such a drama king honestly.

- Choo Choo was small when he was younger, but got a massive growth spurt later in his teens to the point he’s really tall by a cats standards.

-spook is a beatnik and I like to think he’s somewhat of an artist. He usually finds old paint in garbage cans and uses big plywood boards to do his work on. He has been called to multiple meetings plastered in paint. When fancy asked where he got paint from, he bought spook a massive selection of good quality paints and brushes, only for spook to use his paws.

- brain is actually really good at crossword puzzles, most of the gang come to him with any questions they have or are struggling with. Brain can give them an answer in seconds.

- Bennys jacket was knitted by his Ma when he was little, but he has barely grown sit it still fits him.

- TC was adopted at one point but it wasn’t into a great household so he soon left after living there only a week.

Speed run HC:

-spook does the best loaf while TC can’t loaf at all

-fancy loves to be scratched by humans but demands they fix his fur after

-brain likes to cuddle up to the gang when he sleeps

-most of the time the gang can’t tell when Choo Choo blushes because he’s pink
