If anybody wants an update on the precariously-close-to-failed democracy of Ohio, the Republican supermajority is attempting to keep the sitting president off of the November ballot on a technicality they created (and have previously bypassed when convenient).

These are the same people that tried everything in their power to keep an abortion initiative off the ballot despite swearing up and down it wouldn't pass anyway because they totally represent the average Ohioan's opinion on this matter so they KNOW Ohioans are against abortion, and when the measure DID get put on the ballot and Ohioans DID vote to protect abortion, they immediately said "This isn't over," because fuck the people's will.

anons i come to you today with an apology, my previous post seems to be based on a metric fuckton of lies and misinfo

to start, im gonna link this post, which goes over the origin of this whole issue

im also gonna go ahead and be done with censoring red, since the cat's kinda out of the bag on their edentity and its necessary for proper proof. Red = legion in all screencaps

so after my post was dropped, Red was also making their own somewhat callout on TH. i dont know if it's been deleted since frankly I don't care to find it. anyways

my post and Red's callout were both dropped like bombs in terra server, there was a lot of arguing and zaga actually gave a screen recorded video of DMs they had on instagram with Red. this was pretty damning, and lots of people came back to Red to try and figure out what really happened, seeing as Red had presented the situation as:

they were banned unfairly and out of nowhere

they had no clue who could have made the complaint

the only person who could have made it was zaga, who had issues with them based on a debate months ago and they since hadnt really interacted with them

well this turned out to be a whole crock of bullshit!

first, red showed a screencap that their last interaction with zaga was actually a week ago as opposed to being a “months old issue that is getting dragged back up” (link)

then, Red sent these screenshots that completely changed the narrative. we went from "this guy i had an argument with a few months ago is trying to get me banned everywhere" now to "i was saying crazy shit about this guy and now theyre reasonably upset with me"

as a small afterword i want to apologize for playing a part in the spread of misinfo, hopefully this post is proper retribution for that (i do consider myself more of a reporter above all else) additionally, while it's clear now who is in the wrong/right here, there are still critiques to be made on the handling of the situation on the part of terraliens staff. The caginess with any sort of proof makes it difficult for someone to truly know what they're even being banned for, and what accusations they're defending against. the argument could be made that if proper context from staff was given, this situation wouldn't have even unfolded, but of course hindsight is 20/20. in the future it might be better to give better context or evidence to the banned person so they know what they're supposed to be proving incorrect, as opposed to saying "someone said you're harassing them, prove you didn't."

As for the others who played a part in spreading my post, I don't mean to speak for them, however it does seem like many are regretful after now seeing the full picture. since the argument was made that both sides should be heard, it was a pretty big oversight to not look for the OTHER other side in this; i think most are painfully aware of that now.

in conclusion:

do not harass anyone here. im gonna give all parties the benefit of the doubt and say that:

Legion is a misinformed, immature kid who really handled this like shit, and its probably best that theyre banned and blocked by zaga all things considered (this isnt a reason to like, pray on their downfall though. just ignore them at worst, sure they fucked up here but it seems they really just need to become more mature and learn more about best practices when interacting and dear god do not shit talk people like that)

Zaga was telling the truth about this situation. have whatever opinions you want to have about isopups or them outside of this, but there is no denying that legion presented a false situation and zaga was in fact being continually messaged and had rumors spread about them from legion

the outsiders/orbiters of the situation were given a false injustice and ran with it. personally i cant say i blame them a ton for wanting to spread the word about what seemed to be YET ANOTHER terra staff oversight, because so many people just want to bury their heads in the sand about every issue that goes on here. additionally, upon learning that the situation was severely different from how it was originally presented, many turned around and began critiquing legion for the shit they did.

As an Dy's solo stan I would say yes some of Dy's solo stan can be super annoying a lot of times (most recent instant is I don't like how they have to compare Dy's archivement to others and claim he's the most successful nct soloist, so unecessary), but I personally dont see them villainify, belittle and attack other members's character like the way other solo stans do to Dy? Their anger (while I wouldn't say rational or justified) mostly direct to the fandom and the company but the things these akgaes said about Dy then and there, a lot of times unprovoked are truly vile. I stop paying attention to those antis long ago but this time the argument last longer than usual and it got even worse when they appeared together which is surprising.

I've seen Do's fans attack other members. Not as a group effort, though. Yes, in general Do's fans are behaving better, and the random Do's fans who get interviewed on streets look genuinely like very nice people. It's because of the type of idol Doyoung is. I talked before how there are Ace and Underdog type of idols who attract more of confrontational and egoistic fans. Tae and Jae are aces, WinWin or Yuta are underdogs. Doyoung is none of them, the majority of his fans are emotionally mature. Alas, it seems to change. Do's i-fans on X actually need to make effort to maintain this "oh, we are the better subfandom" image of themselves. This riding a high horse might not last long if the things continue the way they are developing.

It's a slippery slope, unfortunately. Starts with minor things, then escalates, and a person often doesn't notice how they surround themselves with not the best moots and become toxic themselves. Even if we don't want to acknowledge it, we, humans, are animals first, we need to make a civilised person out of ourselves, actually grow into one, and constantly work on maintaining positive traits and good behaviour.

Idols and artists are supposed to bring joy, art, beauty, emotional support, companionship even. And the best of them do it. And yet people choose petty wars and dick-measuring instead of healing with a song, an idol friendship, or becoming better following a good example of their bias. And yes, antis and toxic-solo stans kind of drag a fan into their squabbles. However, it is the Internet, the said anti can be ignored or silenced by a ban if they personally attack. It is a choice to be involved with them, afterall (with the exeption of some serious cases (and no, the charity is not one of those), I'm talking about day to day commotion on X).

Doyoung is perceived as a threat. Other subfandoms simply acknowledge unconciously his importance in the group, his success and his talent. That is why he is villinified. It is a way to allow oneself to become hostile, become vicious - to turn "the enemy" into a monster, to strip him off the "human" label. Doyoung can't be Taeyong's friend, no, he is a scheming two-faced leech who sleeps and sees how to undermine the leader. Doyoung can't be loved by the industry people because of his character and be offered opportunities, no, SM pushes him as a nepobaby. Doyoung can't donate out of the goodness of his heart, no, it's just a way to fool everyone into believing he is kind and not actually rotten to the core. Doyoung can't be the best vocalist, no, that would mean acknowledging he has a talent and a right to be highlighted.

You see the pattern? Stripping him of the halo and the wings and making him into the devil incarnate. This way it is easy to justify hatred. Turn a human into a nonhuman, a "leech". And the hatred was born because Doyoung is too close in rank to their bias (also wears a shiny crown), or is the bias' dear friend (jealousy of his proximity to the bias), or "steals" all the opportunities (singing lines) and titles (leader).

It's futile to fight with the antis, they won't change their mind. And being aggressive in return is unproductive as well because passerby and new fans silently observe this exchange and may start to dislike or keep away from Doyoung because of the unpleasant association.

I wish that more people would get into composing music, because it's fun and therapeutic and neat, but like. It's really fucking expensive if you're looking into typical, professional equipment, so I understand why they don't.

Personally, I just don't think you need to start out on a DAW. It feels unnecessary, and it feels like it's an easy way to gatekeep art from the poor. "Professional" Music software ropes people into spending, like, $500+ on the software alone, and then expects them to be able to play an instrument, which involves owning an instrument which varies wildly in price depending on what the instrument is and if it's well-made.

(there's also the occasional software that's aimed at people who are able to record themselves playing that instrument and like...the logistics of that costs a lot, but it's not strictly required or anything. there's also an argument to be had here about the culture surrounding machine-produced sounds as opposed to human-performed sounds, and I'm just not gonna get into it right now)

That's why I don't fucking use a DAW. I'm poor!

I got started on Flat.io, which is not a DAW, but it is free! It's kind of like Noteflight or Musescore if you're at all familiar with either of those things, but the general consensus is that Musescore is better than Flat is better than Noteflight. I've never used Musescore. But I know that Flat is better than Noteflight. It's just a website that has really good instrument variety. It's primarily limited by the fact that you can only use western musical notation. You're also limited to 15 scores without their subscription service (which I got a lifetime membership on for like 150 dollars? but i think they've increased the price since then? dont know, cant see it anymore) but honestly it's not so bad because they don't enforce the ban on multiple accounts as hard as they say they do.

So I guess what I'm saying is like...even if you don't know what you're doing and you're really nervous and you don't want to share anything and you think it costs way too much money (because it does), like...give it a shot. Go digging for artistic software, regardless of the medium, and eventually you will find what you want. And even though the free services can get penny-pinching at times, there's usually at least one out there that can show you whether or not you really want to get into it before you hit the paywall.

And also what I'm saying is go look at Flat.io. Because it's cool. And I've used it for years. And I really like it. And you should go look at it.

what the hell is writscrib what the hell do you mean by fat fetish art drama

I wanna preface this by saying that I dont remember everything that happened exactly and that theres def some informationIm gonna get wrong and also I dont have any evidence like screenshots or anything. All of this info is stuff i vaguely remembered from 2018. so basically

anyways. writscrib was (keyword was) a website thats very similar to pillowfort in a sense that it was supposed to be a superior alternative to tumblr. so like better user experience, better moderation and support, and it also prided itself that it was gonna be harassment free and callout posts werent allowed and at the time a lot of tumblr users bitched and moaned about cancel culture so they were frothing at the mouth about this. It had an indiegogo campaign and it ended up reaching its goal

They did open beta in 2018 and I signed up cause I thought it was gonna be the next big website (it wasnt) and I wanted to steal as many good usernames as I can. The extremely awful thing I remember about opening that damn website is that at the time everyone shared the same feed/dash no matter who you followed. So like for example, you dont follow me but my posts will still show up on your feed and it was the same for everyone.

So like Im on writscrib and im scrolling and someone posted. art they made of a fat person eating a burger and its very obviously drawn in fetishistic manner. And because all the users on that website share the same feed we were all seeing it real time so all of us were making posts like "did anyone else see that fat fetish art or was i imagining it" and the person who drew it who Ill call the Artist started getting extremely defensive about it

So I make a post that was along the lines of "i just opened this website and the first thing i see is fat fetish art lol" and the Artist SAW IT and replied like "its not nice to make fun of peoples art" which like. idk buddy ur putting fetish art that a lot of people didnt wanna see on our feeds but whatever.

I dont reply but someone else does and Ill call this person the Commenter (theyre still on tumblr but i wanna preserve their anonymity) and I guess an argument broke out between them that escalated and the Commenter was being kind of an asshole about it. So the next couple things that happened are kind of fuzzy but I guess the Artist reported him and the Commenter got their account banned. The Commenter kind of complained about it on tumblr and the Creator of writscrib saw because they were going through the writscrib tag and the Creator made it so the Commenter was perma banned for breaking TOS.

This caused more drama because the Creator responded in a really petty and passive aggressive way and a lot of people were like "hey this person got banned from writscrib for talking shit about it on a different website. Thats really fucked up and oppressive moderating" So it started this huge drama and the Creator made a non apology. I should also say that I went thru the Artists blog cause I found it and they did admit that they drew fat fetish art on purpose to start drama and troll people yet no one said anything so hmmm....

A side note but I made a mutual during that time who was a mod of the website and knew the Creator and apparently the Creator was a huge asshole to them. However I have no proof of this so like. Take it with a grain of salt.

Anyways the website ended up crashing and burning and shut down after a few months. lol. lmao even

i confess that sometimes i wish i was straight because i have no community. i live in a country where it's explicitly illegal to be gay and it's severely hated by everyone to be attracted to the same sex and so there are no gay or bisexual groups. (someone online had told me there is a great underground community in my country but its far too risky to look for even if i knew where and how to find it)

and online all of the bisexual communities are filled with...straight people. there are a lot of straight people who are only attracted to the opposite sex but are attracted to multiple genders so they are accepted as bi. like a straight girl who only likes transwomen, men, and nonbinary men and vice versa for straight men. and anyone who criticizes this is kicked out of the community. ive been banned and kicked out of multiple bisexual (if you can even call them that really) online communities for having some issue with the bizarre acceptance of straight people in the community. bi people who are ok with sharing a community with straight people are fine, you arent bad or anything, but why do you even call it bisexual? if anything it should be called a straight community because they are always constantly catering to the straight people and constantly validating them and telling them what they want. not even focused on actual bi people. just the constant 24/7 "youre still bi if youre a girl that has only ever dated men and also once a trigender semigirl enby amab!! dont ever think you arent bi!" and i wish i knew from the start they werent actual bisexual communities and really just straight-people-wanting-to-feel-special communities, because i thought they were really for people like me and it hurt so much when i realized after multiple bans, arguments, and threats and insults targeted @ me, that they never were for people like me.

gay people have great communities including several outside of all the gender stuff, and im so happy for them. they are a hated group and they need and deserve somewhere to be safe and accepted. i just wish i actually have what they have. and i dont. so i think about how easier it would be for me. and how much joy i could get from being straight. no one would hate me for it. and if no one hates me for who i love then i wouldnt need a community to truly feel safe and accepted in.

I’m really glad that ao3 doesn’t have an actual pro-ai policy at the moment! I’m planning on doing some research on what Unseeliekey brought up just to at least understand what he’s talking about. I was honestly really confused and freaked out reading what he was saying. But yeah, I’m sad too. You’ve got the right to remain right here with me and it’s a little more fun when I’m with you are two of the fics that made me not only get pretty into Saiou but also made me more attached to DR and into reading fanfiction in general. And it’s just like really upsetting to see something that had that much of an effect on me be gone and know that not everyone who is in the fandom or will get into the fandom will be able to see that.

I also really hope that there’s some sort of way to glaze works too. Making stuff inaccessible to guests is always sad. When I first started reading fanfiction I was a guest and like a lot of people don’t use accounts for various reasons and it’s just sad to think about account locked stuff. And it would be so nice if the ais would just Not. Like why can’t they???? Why???

Anyway, right now I don’t think there’s any full proof, everyone will be able to be happy way to prevent the ai scraping but I’m sure you’ll figure something out that’ll be alright for at least what can be done at the moment. a lot of what was said was like. Half true. my counterpoint to him saying that ao3 supports cp or rape or sexual assault is that no matter where you go on the internet, you will find shit like that. EVERYWHERE. ao3 doesnt support it i really seriously doubt that anyone outside of those spaces supports shit like that but ao3 is an ARCHIVE. and when you put things in the archive, you are allowed to submit whatever the fuck you want. setting rules on what could be put into the archive automatically means that other fics, which explore the topic in a critical, non-fetishistic way, are ALSO up to scrutiny. fics that explore the psyche of trauma victims? they might not be allowed. regular degular fetish content, no minors involved? completely up to scrutiny. im really not a fan of censorship OR some of the shit on the internet, but i can only control ONE THING and thats what i allow myself to see. i really dont like people saying that ao3 deserves to be taken down because of that because then that would mean twitter deserves to go down, social media as a whole deserves to go down, and just generally i dont trust people who push the "think of the CHILDREN" argument. you see republicans push that when theyre trying to ban trans or gay people out of existence so INSTANTLY alarm bells start going off in my head, not to imply that i think every single person who pushes that argument in this context is republican or right-wing. just bothers me and looks like a red flag
