#the depression resurfaced as soon as i got in the car actually #there were no tears but i made this tiny little whimpering sound when i got out of the car to unload my bag #and im so glad my parents didn't hear it bc im pretty sure i would have actually started crying if they had #and i don't want to cry #i don't really want to do anything #i bought a new book that i was so invested in while i was there and now i have no desire to read it #i played bg3 and ffxvi so much while i was there and i don't want to do that either #i had so many thoughts and wrote so many things for beau and kanver and i don't want to do that either #i just feel like lead #maybe when i get home and see my cat i'll cheer up #but i have 8ish hours of feeling empty until then

I hate how fandom has become "if you haven't created anything in this very specific time frame after the release of the show/movie, everyone will have moved on"

And call me old fashioned, but that's just not me. I sometimes take ages to create and publish. And I will love a show or movie for such a long time (years, babes, years) that I just can't relate to the fast consumerism that's going on.

Because, let's be real, it can get really lonely in a fandom if most have simply moved on to the next shiny thing. Is what's created less worth, just because it was created outside the hype? Why is it such a taboo for this new fandom generation to love an old or "late" fic or art?

It's so tiring and I'm too old for the 30-seconds-hype-tiktok-shit. Just tired. So, so tired.

#basic rule of thumb is two year olds are expected to be able to use TWO words in a row.#some can do more. some can do less.#but please assume that if a child is under three they are not speaking thoughts more complex than 'I want that' or 'I am [sad/hungry/mad]'#Occassionally you'll hear a pretty complex thought like 'It's snowing outside!' but that's only certain kids #If they draw your attention to something it's usually just the word 'LOOK' and a bunch of pointing #If they're upset words go completely out the window and you'll just hear crying/screaming. possibly the word 'no' or 'Mama' or 'Daddy'#Kids tend to say 'mama' or 'daddy' even if those people aren't in the immediate area #Tho I have had the hilarious experience of hearing an angry kid loudly scream for his older sister #are there exceptions to the rule? yes of course #also: most kids understand social cues before they can actively participate in them #So for instance when I put on my coat they all start yelling 'Bye Maggie!' even if I am actively having a conversation #They also know that it's typical to greet someone when they come in the door but they don't know WHEN or HOW #which results in them just. Yelling your name at you when you come in the room. Sometimes they'll say 'MAGGIE HERE.'#When the phone rings they yell 'HELLO??' at it.
