#WHYYYYYYY #WHY DID I DO THIS TO MYSELF #i actually prefer oil pastels over coloured pencils by a lot but oil pastels are still a relatively new medium for me whereas coloured-#pencils were my signature medium for a good chunk of time #also i might more practiced at acrylic than watercolour now bc i just took an acrylic class this quarter #but for a good while that was not the case #also. i do not gravitate toward these mediums because i Want A Challenge.#i DO NOT WANT A CHALLENGE. !!!#them being difficult unforgiving mediums is coincidental #i want something forgiving!!!#but i.#ghhh #i am now attached to these mediums #and i can't do digital art for shit #and i like being able to feel the art and the tools #coloured pencils and oil pastels do that the most (ESPECIALLY oil pastels)#and paints somewhat #but the more physically incorporated i am with the art the more connection i feel i guess #which is why i love oil pastels #i feel the pastel in my hand #and then i feel it touching the paper #and then when i blend i do it with my fingers #and when it's finished i can run my hand over the artwork to feel the texture #digital art doesn't let me feel what i'm doing so that's probably part of the problem with it #unityrain.txt #art #shitpost #but. To be even 0.1% striking a similar chord is an aspiration of mine.#I also want to honour the effort I put into this parody book cover. Which was a *lot* more than one would think.#Covers were analyzed. I did research and took notes. I learned how to download fonts. 4 different programs were used.#This file is also poster sized (A4 dimensions)! I thought It would make the joke funnier for some reason.#Chuck Tingle's style is very iconic and fun to replicate. Despite the time intensive labour - I had a blast making this!#I admit to skimming most of the chapter this is based off of just to fact check a few details but boy did I learn things.#Wei Wuxian canonically has CAKE. Tiny waist and a fat ass.#I took several more notes but I will warn you now that I can't *not* find smut writing to be very funny.#This was pure chaos. Unbridled chaos. WWX really did shove a sword up his ass to bully dream-LWJ.#The need to be a little shit trumps saftey I guess.#There is a 99.9% chance I will not cover the extras so this is likely all the fans of those chapters will get from PD-MDZS.

'title page' assignment for my graphic novel illustration class! At this point in the semester I was itching for some text and panels haha so I incorporated the title into the last panel C:

feat. my beloved Candle Light and her mother Hazel! and Sergeant Green. Zahrati means 'my flower' in arabic; or at least that's my intention anyway, google gave me some conflicting answers (so if anyone knows arabic and wants to confirm or deny I'd appreciate the knowledge! Hazel speaks egyptian arabic specifically, if that's important info)

also I tried lettering this in affinity designer (equivalent to adobe illustrator) as I heard that was a typical professional comic process; I'm glad I tried it but in another assignment I did the lettering right in clip studio paint and that went much easier and felt I had more control over the speech bubble shapes... But augh i just wish CSP would come out with a spell check feature!!! I like typing the text right into the program orz
