Lessons in Restraint
Viktor x fem! reader
After losing a bet to your partner, you end up having to deal with the consequences of your actions, no matter how much you beg.
Warnings: 18+ MDNI, dom/sub dynamics, bondage
A/N: wrote this in a fugue state at 4am and finished it on public transit, I’m a god of creation lol. Not proofread at all but I like it. This is so horny and debauched have fun. Reblogs and comments make my day (I read every single one)
“You know, it’s incredibly satisfying to see you like this after talking such a big game.” His voice is lilting and thick and like a haunting melody that weaves its way into your brain and doesn’t leave, no matter how hard you try to expel it.
The smirk is audible and as you stare up at this man from your place on the floor, rage bubbles deep within you, flavoring the already cultivated desire that has been driving your instincts.
A bet. A stupid, idiotic, ridiculous bet was all it took to end up here: naked, bound, and kneeling before Viktor as if he were your king.
The bet had been simple.
“You have no self control.” He’d mocked you one late night in the lab as you lay draped over him on the small beat to hell couch they’d brought in for you. Basking in the post-sex glow, you laughed airily, your mind still a bit foggy and blissed out.
“Neither do you. Can you blame me? I’m a girl who knows what she wants.” You punctuated your statement by snuggling further into him.
A chuckle, then “Patience is a virtue. God you’re probably not even able to last a week without needing me.” His hands tracing lazy patterns on your back, sending shivers down your spine.
“Is that a challenge?” Your eyes narrowed at him from your place on his chest.
“Perhaps.”
He’d been right of course. You didn’t last a week without needing him, folding just on the morning of day 6, practically begging him to fuck you, touch you, anything at all.
The smirk that split his face was so vile and hypnotizing that you couldn’t take your eyes off of it. Of course, he obliged and fucked you so good you couldn’t walk for a day.
“You need lessons in restraint, humility. And seeing as you lost the bet…”
Which led you to right now.
Two in the morning.
Completely alone in his lab.
At his mercy.
The soft rope around your wrists and ankles caresses your skin, knots only tightening as you squirm. Wrist to wrist, ankle to ankle, and just for an added kick in the mouth, wrist to ankle. Knees spread and back arched as Viktor sat in his desk chair, which from this angle looked much more like a throne on which an emperor sat.
Alas, it would not be the benevolent kind.
“What, no witty comeback or retort for me? Are you all out of fight? Or are you just learning to mind your tongue?” he leans forward, forehead almost touching yours but not quite. He hasn’t touched you in over an hour. Just lingering stares or fabric or even the occasional breath of air. Nothing else.
“Or…” he leans close to yours ear, “you’re just being quiet to avoid the shame?” White hot fear washes over you. It’s so hot it’s freezing and you want to simultaneously worm away from the sensation and also surrender to it.
“Pity. This is a lesson in humility. Obedience. Discipline. Trust.” His voice softens at the last word and there’s a brief moment where his gaze shifts, full of adoration and love and awe. It doesn’t last long though; enough for you to smile back, and give a quick confirmation that ‘yes you’re ok and want to keep going’.
“Well? Nothing at all?” He sits back up, towering over you and you cannot help but avert your gaze underneath his stare. It pins you to the wall like a pretty butterfly in a shadowbox.
“Unh-unh…” he tuts disapprovingly and it’s all the warning before the end up his cane is tipping your chin back up, allowing you to properly look at him.
“None of that. So rude, absolutely no manners. You should be ashamed of yourself.” He stares down the length of his cane at you, eyes molten and burning as he speaks.
“I…” but there’s nothing you can really say for yourself now. He’s right. As he usually is. You are ashamed.
“No? Not a thing in that pretty little head of yours is there?” He removes his cane from your chin and lets it fall to the floor, hands folding on his lap as he ponders what to do with you.
Eyes rove over your twitching body, no doubt a puddle of wetness below you dripping from your aching core. It’s pathetic and humiliating and some sick fucked up part of you relishes in it. He knows it too, head tilting as he looks down.
“Oh, poor thing. You’re just drenched aren’t you?” the mockery in his voice stirs a frustrated whimper out of you, pulls it from your chest like one would pull a hook from the stomach of fish who’d swallowed it. Bloody and violent and unable to do a damn thing about it.
“Such a pretty sound.” It’s not to you, just musing to himself. You whine again, roll your hips as you stare up at him, hoping he’ll take pity on you. Touch you.
“Viktor…you’re being cruel…” your voice is fucked out and ragged, despite the lack of stimulation. He’s brought you this close with barely anything but his voice and a few lengths of rope. A feat, really. He’ll brag about it for the rest of your life.
“Am I? Or are you just not prepared to accept that your actions have consequences?”
“I just wanna touch you…” you crane your neck up at him, staying rooted to your spot but reaching. He is a planet and you a mere comet pulled into his gravitational field, circling.
He thinks for a moment, you can see the gears working in his head.
“You want to cum?” No one, nor any amount of liquor could get you to admit how earnestly you nodded your head at his words, how desperately. With a quick move you weren’t expecting, he bends forward in his seat and wraps a pale hand around your throat. The sensation is near overwhelming as he hasn’t touched you in an hour, fingers now digging into the delicate column holding up your head.
“I think…” he tilts your head this way and that, ever the scientist, taking in every observation, every bead of sweat, every tremble, “…I have a compromise that will suffice.”
With a bit of a gentler hand, he pulls you forwards by your neck, his own rolling chair moving to meet you as you shuffle forward. He pulls you closer, closer, until his knee is flush with your sternum, and you’re situated directly over his shoe.
Fear washes over you, curls its fingers into your hair, your spine, your stomach.
“You want to cum so bad?” He jerks up his foot at the end of his sentence, bumping it against your clit in a way that has you nearly doubling over and letting out a strangled yelp.
“Go ahead, sweet thing.” Your neck is still in his grip, so you know he can feel the way your pulse races forward like an engine.
“B-but-“ a protest forms in your mouth but it’s squeezed out of you as his hand tightens.
“I’m sorry, but you’re not making the decisions around here. And that wasn’t a request. Do it.” His tone is icy and piercing and it scares you in a way that urges you forward, letting the humiliation continue to worm its way into your synapses.
He lets go, a little roughly, and straightens his back, looking down at you as if you were an amusing pet.
Swallowing the lump in your throat, you shut your eyes briefly and take a deep breath, pushing it out rather forcefully.
The first roll of your hips is torturous. It’s friction you haven’t had in hours, so sensitive and swollen that the leather and lace send fireworks through you.
But it’s something, and you’ve been so patient, so agonizingly horny that you’ll take anything. And he knows that.
And the motherfucker is laughing.
“Oh…wow…I didn’t think you’d actually do it. Just so eager to please and be pleased aren’t you?” A deceptively gentle hand caresses your cheek and you lean into it instinctively, the sweetness juxtaposed to his cruel treatment making your head spin a bit.
“What base creatures we humans are. Willing to throw pride and dignity aside all for a biological need to fuck each other like rabbits. All for the pleasure of climax. Slaves to our hormones; all the blood being sent to your swollen cunt, none left for your brain.” The last bit is a coo, a mocking pity that weighs heavy on your sensation addled mind. His hand on your cheek is a cool balm on your feverish skin, tracing your cheekbone in reverence as the words he spits tear at you.
You move faster, chasing the high that is slowly but surely building in the lowest part of your stomach. It’s a dull burn that exponentially increases in intensity and heat. Every word he says is a stoke to the catching blaze.
A low rumble of appreciation stirs from Viktor’s chest, and the pride that swells in you as you look up at his appraising gaze pushes much of the embarrassment aside. The joy of approval, the delicious praise that a mere look can bestow; you need it like you’ve never needed anything before.
“Oh you are splendid, sweet thing. Such a good girl, so eager to please.” His hand drifts to your open mouth, fingers dancing along the pad of your lip. With no other instruction, you lean forward and take two of his fingers into your mouth, swirling your tongue around the digits in such a lewd manner that the workers of the brothels would blush.
There’s a small intake of breath from your Viktor, a brief slip of composure as he stares at you in awe. His eyes sparkle with want and need and adoration.
“You…are perfect, so wonderful for me.” His other hand cradles your head as his fingers push in deeper, pressing down on your tongue slightly. You double your efforts at his sweet words, spurred on with renewed vigor. For me. Yes. For him, always for him, his, his, his, his.
“Oh you liked that did you? You like when I tell you how good you’re doing for me? How beautiful you look there on your knees, fingers in your mouth, truly you put fine art to shame. You were made for this, perfect, so perfect.” He muses, and the heat in your core grows hotter with every breath he takes to speak. Your poor hips are stuttering, so desperately close to cumming all over his pristine leather shoes. Moans spill forth around his fingers as you lose your grip on sanity, oh but what a sweet descent into madness it is.
“Go on. Go on darling, cum. That’s it, make a mess of yourself, that’s it, good girl, oh…” he marvels at you as you contract into him, the force of your orgasm pulling a strangled scream from your lungs. It’s wave after wave of white hot ecstasy, and your hips undulate a few more times as you ride it out, milking it for every last drop. His hand retracts from your mouth and he holds you, cupping your face in his hands.
“Wonderful darling, you did wonderful, absolutely perfect. So good, so good for me.” Fingers card through your hair, hands guiding your head to rest on his knee. You’re grateful for the support, it’s getting awful hard to keep your head up. The thigh of his good leg is sturdy and strong from baring the brunt of his weight. It’s grounding beneath you.
Slowly but surely, your breathing evens out, his hands petting your hair reverentially, holding you as you come down from your high. You stay like that for a while, until your knees start to hurt and your wrists ache, causing you to whimper at the newly forming pain.
“Are you alright lásko? Can I move you?” He whispers, hands never stopping his movements. You nod against his leg, weak but sure.
“M’good. Just go slow.” Your voice is hoarse and crackly from exhaustion. He bends down, kisses your head, and picks it up off of his thigh. With a twist, he adjust his chair so it’s a bit lower to the ground, closer to you. He reaches around, kissing your shoulder as he does so, and unties the ropes around your wrists and ankles. They fall away, and your arms instinctively reach for him.
“Soon, miláčku. Can you stand?”
“Mhm.” He grips your hands, helping you to your feet, and you’re alright for the most part, just a bit shaky. Viktor reaches for his cane, stands, and leads you by the hand to the couch in the corner of the lab. The leather is cool against your skin as he situates you in the cushions.
“I’ll be right back, just getting you water. Wrap the blanket around you alright?” You nod, his voice your tether to reality. In mere moments he’s back with water in hand, and not long after he’s sitting next to you, pressing you into his good side, arm an anchor over your shoulders. You curl instinctively into him, clutching the blanket around yourself.
“Are you sure you’re ok, sweet thing?”
“I’m sure Viktor.” Your voice has returned to you, as has most of your facilities. The weight of Viktor against you helps immensely.
“Wow.”
“Wow indeed.” He knocks his head against yours, and you laugh, snuggling further into him.
“I can’t say I didn’t know you had it in you, because you’re the most in control person I’ve ever met, but holy shit Vik.” The smell of his cologne and shampoo washes over you as you nestle closer into his neck, so ineffably him.
His cheek is pressed to the top of your head as he says , “I hope that is a positive ‘holy shit’.”
“Oh certainly.” You sit up slightly to look him in the eyes, “Vik. That was amazing. I…you were fantastic. It was everything I could’ve wanted.” A dopey smile spreads across your face and you can see the blush forming on his cheeks, the pride swelling in his chest.
“Thank you for trusting me with you.”
“Vik I trust you with my life.” You kiss his cheek, and he chuckles, a pretty sound that you wish you’d hear more often. But as the months go by, it’s starting to become a bit more familiar.
“And I trust you with mine.”
“Yeah but I just use that leverage to get you to bed at night so you don’t die of sleep deprivation.” He snorts as he pulls you in closer to him.
“Isn’t it common practice for someone in your position to nap after a scene?”
You laugh, but acquiesce and snuggle into him further, “you’re just deflecting, one day I’ll fix your sleep schedule.” But your eyes are already closing and his hands are playing with your hair.
“Sure, lásko. Sleep well. I love you.”
You smile, though you’re already halfway to sleep, “love you too.”

This is all your fault. 🤣 They have been so much fun to put together!
I am loving all your stories, especially Everything is Alright. The boys are such asshats! I'm looking forward to Reader putting them in their place.
The Blokees are adorable, especially the minis. I kind of want to just accrue them and let them ride on my dash. And reader is definitely not happy with any of them right now, but is beginning to realize they have leverage
Everything Is Alright Pt 124
IDW Starscream x Reader, Megatron x Reader, Soundwave x Reader
• Starscream expects you to yell some more. To get angrier. Instead you just offer them a flat, empty smile and make a show of looking over the edge of the berth. And a whisper of fear twists through his spark. Wings drawing tight to his frame, Starscream isn’t sure what that expression of yours is, but he doesn’t like it. Hadn’t meant to just say all that in front of you, but it’s out there now. Had meant to hurt Megatron, not you. And Soundwave is slowly approaching you, frame tense. What is he picking up from you?
• “It occurs to me that you two need me a lot more than I need you. And I’m just one little, helpless human, right? You can bully me into whatever you want and there’s nothing I can do.” Heart racing, you keep an eye on Soundwave. Because he’s clued in to your mindset and he’s edging closer in slow movements like you’re a stray he’s trying not to spook into running. Star’s wings flare out slightly with your words, but Megatron is just frowning at you. “But lots of things can happen to me. I could fall off of here. It’s a long way down, isn’t it?” Ignoring Star and Soundwave, you focus on Megatron. Watch those optics narrow. “I don’t think I’d cope very well if something happened to my world and my people, you know? But nothing’s going to happen, because you’re going to leave my world alone. As a wedding gift.”
• Wedding? A human thing? “You think you can make demands of me?” Megatron ask, fighting to keep from smiling as you stare him down. Why is your anger so appealing? Makes him want to provoke you just to see how far you’ll go, because he doesn’t believe for a moment that you’ll actually try anything. There’s your equally helpless sparkling you saddled him with to worry about. It’s an empty threat and maybe it bothers him that you’re scared enough to make it. Because you are right about one thing. Anything could happen to you and his life depends on you staying safe. And despite himself, he’d prefer you to be happy, so tired of fighting all the time and don’t want to fight you.
• “Not a demand. A present for your bonded mate,” you say, glancing at Soundwave as he stops short of you and holds out a hand. Asking you to come away from the edge, because he’s afraid you might accidentally fall. That Megatron might push you into something rash. “For our sparkling,” you add, look up at him, not Megatron. And it’s a relief when you place that little hand in his and let him pull you to him. Wishes you wouldn’t try to push Megatron, but understands why you’re doing it. “Because this is their home, too.” Understands the game you’re playing and doesn’t like it. And he’s the outsider here now, not bonded to you anymore because of Starscream. The first bond had been all need and desire. He hasn’t considered the consequences of his actions if you’d accepted him, but he still wants it. Still wants you. Even if it’s just this, trapped on the outside acting as mediator to keep you safe.
• Crossing the berth to you and Soundwave, his wings drop, flicking guiltily when you look at him. Knows you’re mad at him, too, but can’t stop reaching for you. And his spark aches when you take a slow breath and catch his hand, tugging him to you. “It’s a reasonable request,” he says, knowing it’s not his call to make, but he’d give you this if it would make you happy. Hadn’t really cared about this mudball beyond that you’re on it. Wants to ask what a wedding is, if it’s some kind of bonding ceremony, but he just looks at Megatron in challenge instead. Watches the warlord vent in exasperation at the three of you, optics fixed on you.
• Heart still racing as you lace your fingers with Starscream’s servos and glare defiantly up at Megatron. Still angry at all three of them, but Star and Soundwave are at least taking your side. Or they just don’t want you angry with them and are trying to get back in your good graces. It’s hard to tell with them sometimes. “You really are more trouble than you’re worth,” Megatron growls, shoving off the berth and striding to the door. “Mining and refining energon will continue as planned.” And your breath catches, fingers gripping Star’s servos as Megatron hesitates, back to all of you. “But I suppose this world could be declared a protected nature reserve. Since our species are compatible and I’d hate to wipe out any potential resources.” That’s sort of a victory, right? Why doesn’t it make you feel better, though? Because you might have saved your world but accidentally turned the Decepticons loose on your people to save their own declining race. Well, shit.

Brief interlude to the Mafia story for another mob story, only this one Steve escaped from a cult
Nancy and Robin are ex's and Nancy is who got Robin into the Wheeler family business. They broke up on good terms and Robin came to make some good friends there.
In my head Steve and Robin meet because he moves into her apartment building and the two become neighbors. Both notice how the other acts a bit odd but don't think anything of it at first. Both omegas come to assumptions about the other, Steve thinks Robin left a very sheltered and controlling environment and Robin thinks Steve's from a rival family and waiting for the perfect opportunity to take her out.
Robin shares her fear with her friends before going radio silent for a few days, everyone is ready to jump into action to take revenge when she sends a message basically saying it's all good now and she was just being paranoid
Robin came back from a date to Steve standing in the hallway in front of her door with homemade pasta and gets startled when she clears her throat behind him. Steve rambles enough to give Robin herself a run for her money and he admits that he only recently got away from a cult he was born and raised in.
The meeting turns into a days long sleepover with Robin helping the other omega learn how to make a comfortable nest, how to properly do laundry and how to clean around the house. She sees how he has several self help books and how to's for omega house care and realizes that whoever left him there hasn't the first clue on how to care for an omega but made an effort. She picks up the faint scent of pups and an older alpha coming from his nest and asks about it.
Steve was saved by the chief of police of a small town who was retiring and moving to the city with his girlfriend and family, Hopper formally adopted Steve and stops by frequently to check up on him and Steve's adopted sister Jane often comes by with her friends to try out Steve's cooking.
Robin obviously doesn't come clean about what she does for work and Steve doesn't ask but now they both chalk up any odd behaviors to Steve being from a cult, Robin thinks anything Steve does that's weird is because he's from his time in a cult. Steve assumes anytime Robin does anything weird is just Robin being a self proclaimed weirdo and also his perception of most things being weird because he's not used to most things.
I think the story could mostly be a funny slice of life story between the two getting closer and Robin's horrible dating life, she'd come back to her appointment and complain to Steve about how bad all of her dates have been. Steve will continually ask her if she's talked to and asked out Chrissy because the other omega clearly likes Robin based off of the stories he's heard.
Eventually Robin and Chrissy get together and introduce Steve to all their other friends and Eddie is immediately smitten and makes an ass out of himself, he bends over backwards to make Steve's visit super comfortable and accommodating. Robin and the others lose their collective minds because Eddie is usually calm and composed when pursuing someone and here he is, in all of his dork glory.
Robin gives Eddie a shovel talk after Steve leaves. When Hopper meets the others he quickly clocks what they really do for work and sighs. He tells them how he's retired now and works at his girlfriend's bakery with his kids and her kids but if they do anything to hurt his boy there will be consequences.
While Eddie and Robin both have no plans on ever hurting Steve both come to the decision to act more and more outlandish around Hopper to see how worked up he can get a bigger reaction.
It's all supposed to be just a fun story that popped into my head the other day that I wanted to share!

What do “dramatic, personal stakes” look like in tabletop gaming? What games center them in their mechanics and how?
Alright, so there are lots and lots of games out there that do this in very different ways, so this is going to be a very long and meandering answer.
Starting with the most "trad" example, Pendragon, the game of playing knights in Arthurian Britain that freely mixes history and myth, is for the most part a very traditional adventure game, but it also introduced the idea of Passions and Personality Traits to give mechanical heft to characterization. These are effectively measured on the same 1 to 20 scale as regular skills and attributes in the game, meaning that they can be "tested" just like skills, but they also have the potential for putting the player character into trouble. A character with the "Hates Saxons" Passion will have their hate actually manifest in play, whereas a character who is high in Lustful and low in Chaste will find themselves entangled in lots of romantic drama. Character personality will thus actually have concrete game mechanical effects. The Passions system has since been ported into more recent editions of RuneQuest and its descendants, including Mythras.
Fate is a more modern indie RPG that is less concerned with measuring out Exact Statistics and more about modeling narrative convention. Fate characters are, more so than their skills, basically defined by their Aspects, which are effectively narrative tags that define How a character should behave in a story and What sort of stuff should be happening to them. Aspects can be invoked (using Fate points, the game's main meta currency that the whole game operates on) for bonuses on actions that relate to that tag, but they can also be compelled to put the character into trouble in a way that makes sense for their Aspect, thus granting the player a Fate point if they accept the compel. Aspects are pretty much at the core of Fate and they are utilized for much more than just characterization: new temporary aspects can be created on the fly to represent things in the environment, aspects can be used to represent things in the world and the wider narrative, injuries and consequences of losing conflicts are effectively temporary aspects, and so on. This way the game is largely one where the meta resource management game ties heavily into things that matter in the fiction.
Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy (by @anim-ttrpgs) is another very trad RPG and a game that is very much a "going on an adventure" game (but the adventure is a mystery that needs to be investigated), but the game adds a bit of extra mechanical heft to characterization of make it clear that the game is about regular people investigating mysteries: the Trait system is one of the most important mechanical dials for character customization and Traits are effectively packaged options with both benefits and drawbacks, and those mechanical effects also inform characterization very heavily; Truths are unique to each investigator and are something I would compare to Fate's Aspects but much more precise and personal and less meta, giving investigators minor bonuses on actions in a scene when they are acting according to their Truth; and finally, Tiers of Fear, which are also very personal to each investigator, define how an investigator reacts to various fear stimuli that exist in the world and thus also heavily intersect with the game's Composure mechanic. All of these mechanics interact with an investigative game with a very clear intended gameplay experience to further influence characterization and add personal stakes into the narrative.
Getting back to the more avant garde, Chuubo's Marvelous Wish-Granting Engine is a game that I still struggle to wrap my head around because it's a game for smart people, but as far as I have understood: the gameplay largely revolves around player characters choosing personal goals called Arcs which are further divided into Quests; each Quest is defined as a number of experience points that must be accrued towards the quest for it to be completed, as well as specific actions that characters can do to gain bonus experience on those quests, and then you basically just. Let your characters loose on quests. The important thing is that while quests can be shared among a group (for a more traditional "Group of Heroes Going on an Adventure" narrative, which Chuubo's does also support) they are also personal (so each character will have their own personal quests they will be working towards) and asynchronous (a character may pick up multiple quests over their arc and not complete them in the same order as they started them, as some will be shorter diversions on the path towards victory). Again, this is a very broad-strokes, top-down view of how the game works, because it is a very heady game that I have yet to wrap my head around. If any Chuubo's fans notice any egregious omissions or mistakes here, please let me know.
Finally I'll finish with something a bit broader, the World of Darkness "series" of games, while not having anything quite as in-depth as personality mechanics, do all have various mechanical frameworks for tying characterization into gameplay: the Classic World of Darkness games had their Archetypes, effectively defining a broad personality archetype that the character needs to act according to in order to regain Willpower; the Chronicles of Darkness games have Vices and Virtues, with characters having one of each, once again defining how they regain Willpower; and I'm sure the newer Paradox White Wolf titles also have something to that effect as well. Basically, little carrots dangled in front of player characters to encourage characterization and acting according to a specific archetype. It's neat!

radfems, thank you.
my journey of becoming a radfem has been long and rather solitary. throughout 2024 i was able to listen to perspectives i had never heard of before and see new sides of this society, both in my real, personal life and through the voices and testimonies of other women. consequently, my views started developing and evolving.
during this time i never called myself a radical feminist, as i didn’t know all its core points and their meaning/explanation. i did recognise my leaning towards it though.
at the same time, i had no idea about the whole “terf” thing. being straight barred me from a lot of the misogyny around the matter. i had only seen that term in a specific occasion and shoved it back as a non-issue. looking back now, i shouldn’t have.
then november arrived and i peaked. it was heartbreaking, infuriating, disappointing, enraging. i felt betrayed, that stupid girl who never understood why she was always excluded, the foolish young woman who still has that slow heart.
contemporarly, i found out what “she’s a terf” actually meant. i researched radical feminism and its core values and saw my own reflected in it. i started trying to find like-minded women, at least online, and with that i found names of writers i had already heard of, quotes and paragraphs i had already read, women i should’ve looked up on google earlier. i can see how that class consciousness i have gained throughout last year would’ve lead me here anyway, sooner or later.
now i am here. i got basically all the theory to read, in-depth analysis i can’t wait to read and that is gonna help me set my thoughts and values into clear words, something my autistic brain definitely needs help with. i’ll have to learn how to put all this into action too. but the moral compass i’ve been building is already there, and so is the resolution of speaking up.
the female socialisation is still going hard, the internalised ableism and late diagnosis effects too; i’m young and in burnout, and still learning. but i’m happy to be here. i’m happy to have reached this place. both metaphorically and literally ahah. i’ve been on this app for like two months and i already feel like starting to make more personal and chill posts, like that etruscan woman that got the same tittie shape as me (i’ll never shut up about this) like i swear. and to the allistic girlies reading, trust me when i say for me it’s a big thing! (the being more chill thing, not the tittie shape one - i mean yes that too but you get what i mean).
so thank you, radfems, for never giving up.
and also thank you for creating a rather normal community in which we keep discussing topics and practicing criticism instead of preaching dogmas and shunning for thoughtcrimes, i was fucking exhausted tbh

Hi 👋 I just saw your post about the inconsistencies in DA canon, and I very much agree: some things look like the writers themselves are unreliable narrators when it comes to some parts of the lore. But I wanted to ask something - and I hope you don't mind - as someone who isn't a Solas fan and hasn't spent as much time analyzing his story as maybe you did. I see so many vastly different interpretations re: the Veil I'm starting to feel like I'm losing my mind. A lot of people strongly believe that tearing down the Veil wouldn't end the world, but Solas himself says in Trespasser: "I will save the elven people, even if it means this world must die." If you ask him why he helped you with the Qunari plot if he intends to destroy the world anyway, he says he doesn't want people to suffer before it's necessary (which implies that at some point it will be necessary). He seems genuinely sorry for what he believes he has to do. Doesn't it mean he confirms the consequences of removing the Veil would be world-ending? If it doesn't mean the world would be literally destroyed and a great number of people killed, why did he phrase it like this? Why make an enemy out of the Inquisitor and make them believe he is planning to destroy the world if it isn't the case?
Solas rarely speaks in straight lines. He uses metaphors and is generally very vague, which is how he gets around lying. He doesn’t lie, he disguises the truth.
I’ve never understood why people thought he was speaking literally there, because Solas ‘destroyed’ the world of the Elves and yet Elves are very much still around. Changed, but around. Dwarves, too. There’s no reason to believe everyone would just drop dead the minute the Veil comes down, especially since people can go in an out of the Fade physically with no major consequences. I firmly believe Solas would not take action against the Veil if he thought it would just end all life on Thedas. That’s just not the character. People can hate on him all they want, but Solas values life. That’s just canon. He wouldn’t be trying to do what he views as saving the world if he did not care about the people living in it.
And if that’s not enough for you, Solas himself directly tells us that modern people would survive to see the new world. He’s had multiple lines implying that he fully expects the current inhabitants of Thedas to be capable of surviving in the Restored Thedas, hes just not naive enough to pretend casualties won’t be inevitable.
When you ask him what his plan was, he tells us that he took precautions to lessen the loss of life. The estimate he gives us in regards to potential casualties is ‘thousands.’ And whether or not you think a few thousand people is an acceptable sacrifice is irrelevant right now. The point is that he’s not recklessly throwing lives away for no reason. Solas believes that Thedas will not survive long term in its current state and that restoring it to its natural state is the ethical thing. The Veil is an ecological disaster. Think of it as something similar to a Climate Change situation.
We know that the Veil had been growing weaker and weaker over time because it’s been established that mass death and violence weakens it. And Veilguard might not want you rememver that part, but modern Thedas is a hell world of violence, disease, and oppression. It is not a healthy or nice place. Spirits, Mages, and Elves (Solas is all three of these things) are routinely, systematically, and horrifically oppressed, and the Veil has contributed factors which unfortunately lead to this state of oppression. Again, DATV doesn’t want you to know any of that, but they can’t sweep these things under the rug for anyone who’s played the other games.
Solas created the Veil because he’d been forced to make an impossible choice for the good of the world. No one in Thedas would be alive today without him. Now, he’s been forced to make an equally impossible one, and ultimately he decides that he is morally responsible for undoing the damage wrought by the Veil. This is not to make himself happy. This is not selfish. This is a character sacrificing their own sense of self for the sake of duty. His conscience compels him to try and right what he perceives as a terrible wrong. I’m not sure why this is meant to be a negative quality but I’m not a sociopath so I couldn’t hazard a guess.

The Idea of Shared/Linked Karma as it Relates to Home and Peach in Peaceful Property
I made a comment in my last post about Peaceful Property that Home and Peach exist in balance of one another... and that if I were to elaborate on that, it would make that post longer than it needed to be.
Well, thanks to @thebroccolination, I have once again boarded the Peaceful Property train... and the time is nigh!!!
I just want to preface this by saying, this is all just my own personal read of the series and I, in no way, hold any of this to be an absolute interpretation. Ideas of cyclical karma and karmic soulmates / linked karma have always interested me... if my love of The Sign is anything to go by hehe
So, what are the beliefs around shared/linked karma? It's basically the idea that two or more spirits are interconnected through their actions and inactions. The karma created by one will affect the experiences of the others through shared circumstance and interaction. This interdependence would create shared karmic consequences. An example of this would be familial karma, which is dispersed throughout the series as the "curse" (or negative karma) of the Vimarnsukman family.
The relationship between Home and Peach can represent the ideas of a negative karmic relationship blossoming into a positive one. And their linked connection started the instant Home hit Peach with his car.
Buddhism doesn't necessarily propagate "predetermined destinies" so much as "fates" or karma born of individual choice. Circumstances will always present you with a choice, and your decision is what will determine your karmic fate. The choices that are presented throughout one's lifetime, give one with the opportunity to balance their karmic scale... but only if they are willing to pursue positive actions that foster good karma.
Karma has a funny way of trying to balance the scales. Peach and Home reconnecting after the hit and run was the universe's way of presenting Home with the choice to correct his past mistakes... but only happens because of that mistake. Home hits Peach with his car, Peach dies and is resuscitated... but with the ability to see ghosts, Peach's friend Best purchases one of Home's properties that is haunted by a ghost only Peach can see and exorcise, Home wants to hire Peach for his ability. Home needed Peach to help "see" the manifestation of his family's negligence and ignorance, and Peach's ability to do that was granted to him only after Home's own negligence and ignorance. Karma is such a tangled web hehe
In developing a relationship with Peach, someone who Home has wronged in the past, Home can begin to foster enough good karma to counteract his (and his family's) negative actions. Their working together to alleviate the suffering of other spirits creates a positive and important karmic bond, which perpetuates a sense of shared communal well-being that mitigates Home's negative karma. (A lot of this also falls into the idea of harmonious justice which was another prominent concept throughout the series... this is a much larger discussion that I lack the mental capacity to delve into right now).
Home eventually gaining the ability to "hear" those who were never listened to... when the thing him and his family struggle with the most is communication, when he wanted Peach to hear him out after finding out about the hit and run, when his spirit seeks to connect with Peach after his own accident. If Peach can see the ghosts, then in order for them to continue down this shared karmic path, Home must hear them (whether literal or figurative). Balance!!!
Home helps Peach to overcome his fears, Peach helps Home to be aware of and accept his wrong behaviors. Without each other, their cycles of fear and harm would continue. Them "choosing" each other, is what allows them to acknowledge and change their own self-damaging and isolating tendencies... to learn and experience forgiveness, and to find inner peace within themselves. They find a community within each other and use that community to help others. That's the ultimate definition of harmonious karma.

Sabbath - strategic intelligence
Wooin Yoo, Hyuk Kwon, Joker, Vinny Hong
I originally did this with Sabbath and my oc but have to post this w/o her, since I don't post about my ocs.
Wooin Yoo:
Preemptive strategist: planning ahead, anticipating possible outcomes, prefers structure and clear plans, excellent at long-term goals and risk management, can often stay calm or rational in chaotic situations, can foresee the consequences of the actions. might struggle to adapt to suddenly new situations, slower when needed to strategize on the spot, can be too rigid, oracle strategist thinking
Hyuk Kwon:
Instinctual strategist: led by his instict, relies on the intuition he developed through experience, highly adaptive, quick reflexes, reactive in high-pressure situations, good at reading environments, decisive and able to execute in split-second decisions, deep understanding of the situation and environment, unpredictable, might struggle with delayed gratification or considering long-term consequences.
Joker/Hajun:
Holistic strategist: ability to see the big picture, can connect dots and manage balance competing priorities, visual learner, entire perspective on the situation, could overlook smaller details, too idealistic. However, Joker prioritize his morals and values over strategies and etc, hence people fail to see him as a type to strategize.
Vinny Hong:
Fluid tactician: has natural instincts but knows when to shift tactics, doesn't stick to single approach, adapts well, unpredictable/wild card, both - instinctive driven and calculating, risk-taking, struggles with long-term strategies, can be reckless due to his thinking, strives in the moment, predictability through repetition, vulnerability to rigid strategists.

Audio Drama Sunday - 2nd February ✨
I feel like I’ve had such an audio drama-filled week, it’s been so nice 🥺
🦋 @remnantspod (26) Hoooo boy. Listening to this one before work was certainly a Choice!! I found the exploration of how disability affects people around you in ways you can’t control and may feel guilt about something really valuable to explore. My wife had a big operation and needed a wheelchair for a while last year and it was something that came up for us, but I’ve never seen it explored in audio drama!
And, of course, we hit again this idea of unfulfilled potential - the typewriter that was never used. The scenes with Sir and the Apprentice were very interesting…The idea of it being safe to give the apprentice information because he ‘won’t last’ made me wince. Also I’m back on my angel Peter BS, I think Sir is actually meant to be judging ‘the apprentice’. The Apprentice seemed not to fear the ‘dust’ when he’s seen it. But I don’t know how to feel about something that can make Sir beg…
🎃 Waiting For October by @monkeymanproductions (4) hello, I am here to give my life for Frederick! 😻 I really loved the train gremlins, for some reason they really reminded me of the film Labyrinth but I don’t know why! Poor Karo, every part of this trip is bringing up so much for her.
🧋 @hinaypod (33-34) I’ve listened to so much Hi Nay this week as the episodes were split into parts. I finally hit the bit where Murphy has to make an awful decision, but I’m yet to see the consequences! The fear death books make for some incredibly spooky tales! Hearing the house-sitter story from both perspectives was particularly chilling! I think these episodes have highlighted how much they need Mari around!! Also, I definitely missed the part where Laura and CJ got together officially! Good for u, girls!! ALSO, the idea that The Benefactor actually tried to split the power equally and is/was only going after people who tried to hoard power is verrrry interesting. In my head, he’s been set up as the Big Bad but it seems like there’s more to it than that!
🍾 @ameliapodcast (43-46) what a great start to the season! I’m a little bit terrified by Kozlowski, and a little bit in love with him. I don’t know what is happening to my dear Interviewer, but I need a solution fast!!
🌨️ @thewhitevault (17) Ohhh Dragana!!! She has been affected!! I had no doubt that she would be able to get them out of Goshawk safely. . . but now I do! And ugh, the scene where you hear the woman’s voice go repeat the cry for help at a different door is just awful! I love seeing the grípralviðr in action! It’s been so interesting to get a proper look behind the curtain at how the families operate through the eyes of someone who it’s all kind-of new to as well!
🌵 @desertskiespodcast (12) Songs? Sung ✅ Astral Plane? Saved ✅ Tears? SHED!!! I was having a lovely old time listening to this episode until the new little passenger turned on the old lacrimal hosepipe. I’ve absolutely loved this season and I’ve only heard good things about what’s to come!
I can’t tell you how excited I am for the return of @hellofromthehallowoods this week. Get me back to those black pines, please! I have missed you so much 🖤

I was thinking about faith and religion in scifi settings, and I've come to the conclusion that while it makes for an interesting story I'm a little disappointed, as a religious person myself, that in almost all cases, if a religion appears in a scifi story it will either be proven as literally true, completely false, or a misunderstanding based on actual events. This bothers me because I feel a large part of faith is that there is room for doubt, you've considered that, and you're going on believing anyway. That tends to lose its poignancy after you've actually met the god you worship in the flesh.
I'm just going to touch on a few examples, these are definitely not all places religion has been examined in scifi, these are just some that I'm more familiar with and I feel merit a mention in the discussion of "does proof of religion interfere with faith"?
I feel I would be remiss if I didn't mention Star Wars, as Jedi is explicitly stated to be a religion in text, which some characters follow and some characters do not, and some characters openly scoff at. Which is a little weird given how often "You're putting way too much importance to your religion." is countered with, "My religion gives me superpowers." But, as is my original point, whether or not you personally ascribe to Jedi beliefs in-universe, maybe, if you've never met a powerful Jedi, you can say, "Well I've never seen someone lift a rock with their mind." but for the most part it is common knowledge that there was this cult, now with fewer followers than it used to have, where the faithful were given powers from their religion.
But my main point is really coming down to the two I blog the most about, maybe just because I'm most familiar with them. One of these, of course, is Star Trek, which ignored religion for the most part. Except in Deep Space Nine. In Deep Space Nine, we see that the Bajorans worship the prophets, who are shown to be actual entities in the very first episode. Now, they do not contact one of their followers, but a human who was in the right place at the right time to become a religious figure because he directly talked to the gods.
Granted, there was an undertone of most Federation people involved were feeling, "I'm tolerating these beliefs I do not share because this is Star Trek and Star Trek has the best of humanity and the best of humanity doesn't go up to their friends and say, 'Stop worshipping that, it's an alien not a god'."
I will touch more on the Klingon and Ferengi religions when I get to Doctor Who. Trust me, there will be a connection.
Babylon 5 I feel handled religion very well, in that for some characters it was cultural, some of them used it to support them emotionally, and some of them had difficulty proving that the figures they worshiped actually were helping them even if that's what they felt was happening. I found this really realistic and one of the best displays of religion in science fiction, but that's not surprising given that faith was one of the main themes of the show.
Now, this is where it gets interesting, at least for me. Religion is not a large theme on Doctor Who, though it certainly crops up from time to time. Often, it's the main character trying to avoid becoming a religious figure, (which I feel they fail at, if you accept that a god is not necessarily going to be helpful or entirely aware of the consequences of their actions, as they are in nearly all world mythologies, the Doctor is a perfectly good example of a god) but there is also the small matter of the fact that the Doctor themselves was raised in a culture with a religious background. And, although the Doctor has almost entirely eschewed faith in the religious figures from his own background, they at no point deny the existence of
Part of that is due to the fact the Doctor has personally met both Rassilon and Omega. Having concrete proof of the existence of your culture's gods removes the question of whether or not you believe in them. But it does move the question to "Are you going to bother worshipping someone you don't even like?"
The Doctor is not fond of Rassilon, and if they ever actively worshipped them they probably don't anymore. Never meet your heroes or your gods, I guess. But this makes sense in the general relationship the Doctor has with Timelord culture. "This is what I was raised in. I know the myths, I can recite the nursery rhymes and I know what guidelines the gods laid out for my culture. But I don't want to do that." Sort of not Rassilionian, but culturally Rassilionian.
"I met god. He was an asshole." is the main religious theme in Doctor Who, because that's generally how the titular character feels about meeting any religious figure, from their own culture or anyone else's. And over sixty-plus years, they've met a fair few. (That said, "I met god. He was an asshole." tracks for the rest of Timelord society.)
Now I'm ready to explain where the Klingons and the Ferengi come in. Like the Timelords, the Ferengi religion is in many ways a sort of ancestor worship, but rather than focusing on Gint as the founder of the religion, it focuses on the Rules of Acquisition he laid out for his people to follow. But there is historical evidence that Gint, the only real religious figure other than members of the church, actually existed and actually wrote these Rules. My point is, there's no point in questioning whether or not Gint existed. The only room for doubt is how following the Rules will affect the afterlife of the followers of this religion.
The Klingons did almost the same thing as the Ferengi and the Timelords, except in reverse. Rather than elevating certain historical figures to god status through a form of ancestor worship, they demoted the gods to historical figures by killing them.
But my point is, whether or not they still respect their cultures' gods, both Klingons and Ferengi have them as concrete historical figures. You can doubt they had any spiritual importance, but you can't doubt they were there. Which seems to be an ongoing theme in most scifi. The gods are real. Whether or not you worship them is your problem.

I was thinking about your post about the "Batman doesn't tell the JL about his family because he's paranoid" trope but with the Green Lanterns instead, and I just thought about combining it with "Batman hates GLs" trope. Imagine the batfam hearing complaints about Green Lantern and then meeting Hal/John and thinking wow, tf? These are nice, cool guys. And then they meet Guy, who had been the JL's contact for the longest time, and instantly realize the source of all the complaints
This isn't even a question. It's just some anon rambling about how they wanna take my Green Lantern focused post and make it all about the Bats' point of view and how Guy Gardner sucks so much he tanks the reputation of all the other Lanterns.
I dislike the "Batman hates GLs" trope because it's so rarely about how different the Bats and Lanterns are on a philosophical level. Mostly it's just Batstans using the GLs as punching bags. Because everything has to be about the Gotham vigilantes and how they're soooo much better than any other hero.
And I'm
so.
fucking.
tired.
I'm tired of scrounging for crumbs of Green Lantern content while Batfamily fans get to feast like billionaires, then try to take what little we have and make it theirs too.
Maybe that's not how you intended it, anon. But it sure feels like it.
#anyways I'm turning off anonymous asks#you wanna take my love for GLs and twist it to make it all about the bats you do it without a mask so I can block you.#did I mention this is the first ask anyone's bothered to send me?#gonna tag the entire batfam so all you tumblrinas with gotham brainrot can see the consequences of your actions#bruce wayne#batman#dick grayson#nightwing#jason todd#red hood#tim drake#red robin#damian wayne#robin#stephanie brown#spoiler#cassandra cain#batgirl#alfred pennyworth#batfam

Adding on I feel that people who defend Jinx or dont' think about who she killed is due to the fact that its enforcers/corrupt politians so they go with they got what they deserve but I think that ignores how like it or not those people are very much still human and you can't just go around murdering people with zero consequences bad people should get prison time but not outright murdered. And how jinx somehow becomes a syombol for zaun despite working for silco and.. causing more stress for zaun after blowing up the capital building makes little sense to me. Jinx herself didn't even want to be a symbol just wanted her family back. she's not a Hero because she kills Cops.. she's a traumatized girl who needed mental help
btwIhatecops I have very bad experiences with em. been accused of drug selling ifyacanbelivetitwascrazy. and a cop towed our car making us even more poor. . but i dont think we should murder em either or as a poor person myself with my own mental issues that killing is ever justified and it seems that some people think because jinx has trauma =murderis fine but caits trauma hurting people=evil monster when the lesson is i think .. Violence is BAD no matter if your poor/rich don't hurt people.
now Caitlyn she is treated like she Killed millions.. and that her hate of jinx is treated as a shrug cause she was born rich.. As if that makes trauma less valid..
I don't blame her for hating jinx while it was jinx being fused with shimmer that caused jinx mental state to get even worse.. caitlyn was kidnapped while NAKED.. Tied up, and saw jinx kill her mom.. all in like a DAY..
She met vi for what 2 days? got kidnapped nearly killed by her sister/ had her mom blew up by her crush sister. Im not saying its an excuse to gas zaun but how come when Jinx gasses piltover and we see it affecting kids =no criticism at all.. Jinx is a hero =cait is the villian .. But I see no heroes I just see. People.
Traumatized Woman who lost their parents in horrible ways coping in terrible ways. Only one gets treated as do no wrong/other as innocent when its not that simple.
I don't get the hate for either I like Em both I was rather disappointed they didn't go more Crazy but i dont think some of ya'll can handle Crazy woman..shame. I really thought the end of s1 was setting up Arcane Game Jinx instead we got Woobie pitful Jinx when s1 was way more interseting.. and I thought we'd see Cait doing worse and according to fandom she did do worse but i wanted more more insanity. ..
and timebome while cute wasn't needed and i thought took away from the impact of isha's death since the ep happened right after.. and that it came out of nowhere.. I don't understand people saying caitvi sex scene makes no sense they were horny for eachother since season 1.. it was bound to happen and i thought it was perfect emotions were high. Let woman act on emotions humans are emotional people.. that scene was a long time coming. and i say that as someone who didn't really ship em in s1 that moment was long overdue. Maddie was also cute to me but I love REDHEADS I felt she needed more screentime her betrayal left zero impact to me cause .. I barely knew her .. same with Vis new male friend death..
The main criticism I have is to much music video montages.. i give the season a 6/10 .. needed 2 more episodes or to skip the au ep all together and.. focus on ekko/jinx not powder/ekko for timebomb to hold better weight
but that just my opinion.. Im poor and I dont think cait had more power over vi at all.. if anything Jinx held power over Vi.. as vi felt she had to save Powder.. but for all the people saying it should have ended like elsa/ana storyline of sisterly love. while that's all fine and and dandy.. . I gotta say you're family who commits terrible actions isn't your responbility to save and the sory isn't bad because it didnt' cater to the disney storyline of happily ever after for jinx/vi some of ya'll wanted .
I think s1 is better but not because jinx/vi didn't get the happy ending just thought we wasted time on other plots more when we should have had more time with Vi outside of Jinx and noticed jinx was. a lot different that it felt like a new character in general .
.. butohwell.. its not terrible its just alright to me.
With the way people hate on caitlyn it's like she murdered bunches of people when I recall it was jinx who was killing people with zero remorse in s1 no hate to jinx but man her actions get ignored it's her fault that zaun gets targeted in since she blew up the capital
Also its sad that it's come to women vs women characters when both are good characters
